    I joined Yelp just so I could post a review about this restaurant. After reading what other reviewers had to say, we took a chance. Seems about 50/50 that service and/or food is either good or bad. WOW! Glad we went and we will go back again next time visiting Cottage Grove. The service? Top-notch, could not have been better. Wish I could remember our servers name as she was "just right attentive." The food? Best halibut we have in years, maybe ever. The tuna sashimi appetizer was as good as any from numerous sushi restaurants we frequent. Don't be fooled by the so-so reviews, this place is GREAT and we enjoyed that the owner, Stacy, stopped by our table to ask if everything was going well. Could not have been better Stacy!

    If you're looking for a tasty meal or drink at an excellent bar stop at Stacy's. I have had both lunch and dinner there several times. I can recommend the prime rib, clam chowder, shrimp and salads. They have a nice broad menu. The quality of the food has been excellent and very consistent for a small town restaurant. One of my favorite things is the hot fresh baked bread! Wonderful. Check out the bar menu for the daily specials. Good value for the $. The service is better than in many small city establishment and very friendly. I have never felt rushed. Stop for a quick 30 minute meal or hang around for a couple of hours. They make you feel at home either way. Chances are you'll meet Stacy, the owner if you're there very long. Stacy's has good parking and can handle large groups. It's not a glitzy new restaurant, but you'll feel right at home and enjoy some very good food!

    The food is good, the service is quick, and the sidewalk seating is nice. It has a great location right in downtown. The best, though, is Tyler, the bartender. He is the best bartender between Seattle and Santa Fe.

    I won't be trying this restaurant. A friend wrote the restaurant regarding the service they received (which was horrible) and they didn't care. Then they made a comment saying that they were white trash. Exact words. .. "white trash at it's finest". Never in my life have i seen something so unprofessional. Whoever runs their website facebook page should be terminated. If it's the owner it's a shame. The business won't last long in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Word speeds fast in a small town!

    This place was great!!! My friend highly recommended it but the reviews weren't great. Glad I trusted my friend. We took my grandma out for her 92nd birthday. We went in through the lounge on accident & the bartender promptly offered his arm & helped her to the dining room. Staff were friendly & efficient. Food was excellent, great variety, lots of seafood. My 13 yo loved the prawns, I had the steak salad :) Go early for early dinner specials. It filled up while we were there. Atmosphere was nice. Grandma loved her food-- the most important.

    I got the BBC and a local draft when I came to this little restaurant. The whole family was seated promptly (total of 8) and waited on attentively. The food is pretty standard. Nothing above and beyond. The service was great, very friendly and gave great recommendations and dealt with my grandmother's many absurd requests and changes of her mind. It was nice that there was a selection of local beers on tap.

    I really like this place, waitstaff is all very friendly and attentive, the bartenders are great, and the food is tasty! I end up going here pretty frequently because of Thursday Long Island night, it makes for a great place to catch up with friends.

    My wife and I loved this place. From the charming rustic decor to the friendly service and excellent food, you cannot go wrong on a Saturday night date or even if just passing through. We ordered off the earlybird menu and each got the steak with mushrooms. I should have gotten a better cut because I don't like the toughness of sirloin, but I didn't want to spring for the premium cuts. I also use a spice rub when I grill up steak at home, so their's was a bit bland for me (but I can't blame them for that). The spinich artichoke dip tasted like it was freshly made from scratch! The seafood bisque was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. Even the complimentary dinner sundae with candied pecans and caramel sauce was superb, and would have been worth $5 on its own. There are cloth napkins on the tables, and the servers dress formally, but diners dress casual. The service is very conversational and friendly, and the wait staff is very young but clean cut in a small town way. This is not kid friendly, which was perfect for us. LOL.

    Really excellent. My wife made her meal from a bowl of seafood bisque and the lobster cargot while I had the flatiron steak. Hers was perfection and mine was delicious. If we were in town longer than the night then we'd certainly be back Nice selection of drinks and deserts.

    I am a firm believer that when you love what you do, and you have a good outlook on life and you like yourself, it will show in your food. Cottage Grove has many small businesses that are owned by wonderful people. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. I was rather taken aback by the rudeness of the owner. It felt like she was doing me a favor by me going to her place. I am having a hard time saying if the food was good or not so much. The negativity just spoiled the entire experience. I will probably not go back.

    Recommended by a relative who lives here, we were not disappointed with Stacys. The entree spinach salad was huge, with a very tasty warm dressing and ample amounts of bacon, egg, and sweet nuts. The garlic bread with marinara was not as yummy as expected as the bread wasn't very warm, but the marinara was excellent. My husband got the fish and chips which was also a generous serving, and he remarked that the cole slaw was really good, and he isn't a cole slaw lover. Overall I was impressed with the food. The server and water boy/ host were very friendly. The ambiance of the place was a bit strange- very eclectic. I couldn't decide if they were going for an antique look, as there were antique style sconces on the wall, but hanging lights were of a more modern theme. There was an alcove of sorts with a wooden barn like roof over it, and a whiskey barrel at the front door With a penguin statue holding toothpicks and business cards. But there were painted murals on the walls and some lovely framed artwork. The walls were quite dark so the whole place was dark,including the mismatched furniture, and the carpeting was old and badly worn ( please! No carpets in restaurants!). It was quaint, but confusing. However, it was a significantly better choice of a place to eat than any of the fast food joints that welcome you into town.

    Pros: -Everyone was nice, and the server got our orders right. -The lobster escargot was fabulous. -Quaint decor. Cons: -I ordered the filet mignon medium rare. Instead of coming as one thick cut, it was three slim cuts. Two of the thin filets were medium well. The third was medium. It did not taste like a filet cut, and the marbling of the meat was not consistent with filet mignon. -It took well over an hour for our entrees to come out. -We had to battle flies for our food. -It was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. -They did not keep my water glass filled. -We were greeted with a fish odor the moment we walked in. We dropped a lot of money at Stacy's Covered Bridge (it was my wife's birthday), so it was a little disappointing that the quality did not fit the price.

    Good food. Critique follows: Enjoyed the Pan Fried Oysters but they needed garlic butter drizzled over them along with lemon. The French Onion soup was tastey, but contained too much bread, and the "slice" of cheese draped over the cup was tacky. Garlic horseradish potatoes were good but a little overpowering. Generally, the quality was lacking for the price. They have a lot to learn. Chef seemed a little up tight. But, probably the best Quality restaurant we've found in Cottage Grove so far.

    When it first opened, this place used to serve some of the best food and had great service... even worth the commute in from Eugene. My wife and I have been frequenting Stacy's about once a month or two since opening, but less and less as the quality and service has deteriorated. This most recent visit was the final straw. Three times in a row, my usual prime rib came out cold... even after letting the service know that the past two times it's been off. Her fish was chewy, obviously not fresh. To boot- service was very lacking, inattentive, nonchalant. No refills when my glass had been sitting empty for 15 minutes. Basically, I ordered, got my food, then a check. We mentioned the poor food quality at checkout and basically received a brush-off apology. They don't care. Wish ownership would take notice. We used to love you guys. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to food/service, but it's just not the same place.

    Where else can you get a prime rib dinner with salad, prime rib, veggie, baked potato, coffee and an ice cream sunday for $16.00 (the early 4:00-6:00 menu)? Our server Leann was very attentive, nice atmosphere and the food was great. If this place was in a bigger town there would be a line down the block. I'll be back!

    My boyfriend and I went here for dinner. We visited based on the reviews on Google; big mistake. I ordered the Burger and was not asked what temp I wanted, then there was no sauce and the fries were limp and soggy. My date got the French dip and the meat was grey. The menu was convoluted and confusing, also don't expect to get any sort of discount for visiting during happy hour. Furthermore, the smell of fish wafting over by the table towards the end of the meal made the wait for our check a little queasy. This would not be unexpected if it were not for the astronomical prices, each of our dishes were over ten dollars!

    What a lovely restaurant! The menu selection was broad and the food was excellent. I asked for a different sauce on my salmon than was listed on the menu and they were very accommodating. The service was terrific. I wish I remembered the waitress' name because she did an outstanding job with our large party. Everyone raved about their choice. If you're in Cottage Grove or Eugene, it's a "must stop at" restaurant. Thank you so much for the care you took with our "night before" graduation dinner!

    Quaint local place. Looks like it would be really stuffy from the outside, but once you're inside you realize the staff is just very professional and are trying hard to make your visit enjoyable. Food is far above average and very reasonably priced. The all-you-can-eat soup and salad for $11 is a great deal. The soup tastes hand made and the portions are HUGE, so you really only need one serving. Anyway, definitely worth the stop if you're on the way by. It's about 5 minutes off the freeway, but definitely better than anything on fastfood row.

    We drove about 20 minutes from Eugene to Cottage Grove to try Stacy's because at a recent breakfast with 3 of our neighbors they had highly recommended the restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated and a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal. We got there at 5 pm and discovered they had an early bird menu between 4-6 pm so we took advantage of it. We were met and seating right away. They immediately brought us some warm bread....delicious! Our server was very pleasant and professional. She quickly took our orders and our meals were brought out promptly. We both ordered the special spinach salad ($3.00 "upgrade" as they call it) and it was amazing. My wife ordered the chicken Marsala and it was delicious and a very generous serving. In fact it was much more than she was able to eat. The only downside was my order of the crusted fried cod. I felt the presentation of my dish was less than appealing and reminded me of small piece of boxed supermarket fish you heat in the microwave at home. The little sauce on the top of the cod was indistinguishable to something you would get our of a bottle and was not enough to make any difference. The only other thing on the dish were some string beans that were barely warm and bordering on raw. The plate looked barren and the overall presentation was not very appealing. It was much less than I would expect for the price. However, in spite of hitting on only 1 of 2 meals we will be back. The restaurant is a pleasant place to sit and have a nice dinner. Other than not ordering the cod, we would do one thing differently next time. We would each order the same salad (my goodness it was delicious!) and split one entree. One of our neighbors said they usually order the half order. I didn't see that option on the menu and was not told about it. If they have half orders, that might be an option next time. I think my meal was not indicative of what is served here as a rule. Based on my wife's meal and what 3 other couples, friends of ours said about the restaurant when they recommended it to us I am giving it 4 stars. It is deserving of 5 stars if I did not take into consideration my meal.

    The wait staff is daft I had to ask three times for honey mustard and got a bowl of spicy brown mustard. Our water glasses were dirty, lipstick and food smudges on them. The food was low quality and poorly cooked. Waaaaaay over priced for what we received. I wasn't impressed with the overall ambiance and set up of the restaurant. It felt like a converted office space with my family dining room table from the 80's crammed into the corner. I could have let go the mustard mix up if I didn't have to listen to the wait staff in a huddle talking about their personal lives and debating about how much wine to give as a sample to a customer or if they should just put a whole glass on the bill instead of trying to figure out the free of charge sample amount. The restroom felt like an after thought and had paper thin walls. I could hear everything happening in the restaurant through them. There was a little boy running around the dining room, bar area and in and out the front door. The child I was told is the owners. Apparently it's not uncommon for him to have rule of the roost with his noisy running and playing that is normal for a child of that age just not the ambiance I want for a dinner date with my man. I will not be going back EVER.

    The Bohemia Mining Days Festival Board had a small budget to serve the 50-ish volunteers who helped make this year's festival a success. In the past we always had a Volunteer Appreciation BBQ in Coiner Park. Even the years we had it catered there was still all the set up of hauling tables and chairs and clean up and in lean years we did all the food prep ourselves. This year we asked Stacy to host it for us. It was classic summer fare: Charbroiled hamburgers and chicken breasts will all the trimmings -- including sauteed mushrooms and onions. We had coleslaw and the most delicious potato salad with bacon pieces in it and a full beverage bar. Our two servers were friendly and very attentive to the needs of our guests. It was the classiest BMD Volunteer Appreciation Dinner we've ever had and it fit our budget perfectly! For the BMD Board members who were still recovering from 18-hour days during the festival, it allowed US to also enjoy the meal without all the fuss of set up, tear down and cooking. Stacy & Kim are legendary in their generous support of our community and in providing good food with professional wait staff.

    We skipped eating here May 2014 because of some of the negative Yelp reviews but my friends insisted that the reviews were wrong. We tried to sit in the bar but the locals had all the tables (a good sign). We were seated in the main dining room that was much more formal than I was expecting for Cottage Grove. Some of the reviews said that the service was slow; I say that it is relaxed and well paced for a delightful dinner with friends. You have time to enjoy the food and chat with friends between courses. Tomato Basil soup was excellent. I ordered Asian Salad with Chicken (aka Chinese Chicken Salad). The chicken was in very small pieces which was nice because you do not spend half your time cutting the chicken. The salad itself was good and the dressing was very good too. I will eat here next time I am in Cottage Grove but I may do it bellied up to the bar to talk with the locals.

    How unfortunate we couldn't enjoy the great food. There were soooo many flies in the restaurant everyone was swatting more than eating. At one point we had 7 flies on our table. Looking around everyone was doing the swat and cover the food. Only one waitress which if we were enjoying our stay would have been ok. We finally put a plate of food at the end of the table which attracted the flies there instead of on us. Great food but will never go back. On hindsight we should have left before our food arrived. Definite health hazard. Our 2nd and last visit.

    My friend and I have eaten here only twice because it is a little spendy. But it is all good. I'm not one to notice mis-matched chairs and tables, I rather pay attention to the ambience, wait staff helpfulness, and the quality of the food. On my recent visit I had the flat iron pepper steak with wild rice and a small salad. The salad was small and made up of greens that needed to be cut up and the blue cheese dressing was generic. The wild rice was nice, but nothing to write home about. The real zinger was the steak ! It was cooked perfectly and oh so tender. Its crust of coarse ground pepper was pungent and flavorful. Having the steak wrapped in bacon was just genius. It was the centerpiece of the meal. The portion sizes are pretty large. Americans sometimes have the habit of 'cleaning the plate'. Not a good way to go. We both had to have take-home boxes and our waitress suggested that she box it up for us. Lovely. She was very cheerful and made us groan when she suggested dessert. From past experience we knew that it would have been too much. Next time we will have appetizers and dessert. A bit off topic... Stacy's serves as a meeting place for various benevolent associations. Gotta give them points for that. They are involved with our community which helps us decide where to eat next. Best of luck to them and a thank you to the friendly staff.

    This place is older, and a little run down. But if you are hungry, need a drink, or want to hang out with some good old boys. Stacie's ain't that bad. Tyler the bartender is quick and persistent. The artichoke dip was actually really good. The ribs are great, most of the time. And the sweet potato fry option is nice. The salads are decent. The big screen TVs are a little weird, so is the owner.

    We recently went to Stacy's Covered Bridge when we were up for my nephew's college graduation from U of O. We had reservations for 9 and we ended up with 11. They were very accomodating. Corkage fee of $5.00 is a GREAT deal. The dinner salads looked incredible. The service was very good. The kitchen made a mistake on one of the orders and made it right very quickly. The menu was huge and all looked very good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Excellent food from prime rib to fish. Innovative menu with homemade cheesecake. Reasonably priced with a superb kid's menu for under 10. Recommend it for a short side trip off of I-5. Take a walk by the covered bridge park.

    My wife and I drive a 120 mile round trip to see plays at the Cottage Grove Theater six times a year and look for the best dining in the area. For the past five years we have been taking advantage of the Early Bird specials at Stacy's. Though the price has gone from $9.99 to $12.50 and the linen tablecloths have gone away...the value is still there. Always have six great tasting choices... Soup/ Salad -Main course- dessert and beverage. They just added Tempura Prawns to the specials ...they were big and tasty. Their fresh baked bread is so good we asked to buy some so we could bake it at home.

    Had dinner with old friends last night and it's seams to be going down in service and quality? The last 3 times I've been for dinner I've gotten bad stakes so tough you can't chew them, I hope they get there act together soon because there's not much choice in town, I've been going to Outback for a better stake, Ya I know Outback has been better.

    We ate here based on a recommendation from our campground hosts. We were probably a little too casual for a restaurant, but the only ones that seemed to take note were a couple of older ladies. The prime rib came highly recommended and we ordered that and a salmon plank dinner that had what sounded like a great sauce. We also ordered the crab cake appetizer that was fantastic. The waitress came back after the appetizer and informed me they were out of salmon. I went back to my first choice and had prime rib. My wife had abowl of clam chowder and I had a bowl of seafood bisque. Both were tasty. We got all the freshly warmed sourdough bagette slices we wanted. The baked potatoes were cooked to my taste. The sauteed vegetables were the low point of the meal. Although nice and crunchy, they had an excess of sage sprinkled on them. Thed tables had white linen tablecloths and napkins. Yes, the service was a tad slow so don't go there if you're in a hurry. Our waitress was very friendly and was tipped accordingly. The door on the left is the bar. The restaurant door is on the right.

    I've eaten here several times. The food is decent, but the two times that I ordered the prime rib it came cold. The real problem with this place is the slow and unattentive service. The mismatched tables and chairs are also a bit off-putting.

    Love this place! As a Cottage Grove resident, this is our favorite hangout and the place we go for any catering or parties. Prime Rib Monday Nights is the best $1 an ounce (minimum 5oz) and fries. But my all-time favorite is Vault Chicken- a chipotle sauce gives it a kick with fresh crab on top. They took it off the menu for awhile but it is back by popular demand. Bar and staff are the best- shout out to Tyler and the gang. If you are in Cottage Grove, you must visit Stacys!

    This charming restaurant is worth a short side trip off I-5 as you are whizzing through Oregon. I sat at a sunny table on the sidewalk and enjoyed a wonderful meal of crab cakes, salad, and bread. The crab cakes aren't traditional; they are made in a southwestern-style and are a little spicier - and have more breading - than i usually find. Flavor was great, however, and they were presented as beautifully as anything you would see at an upscale restaurant in any major city. The side salad was huge and all ingredients were absolutely fresh. The service was a little spotty as there weren't many servers working. However, the young woman was very friendly and helpful.The cost of this fabulous meal? $11.50! I will absolutely stop there whenever I am in Southern Oregon. Note: I was there about 5 pm on a week night and the town had basically closed down for the night. This was unfortunate as Cottage Grove has some interesting shops in a small, historic downtown setting.

    Sooo wanted to like this place...good location and ok from the outside except for the dirty tattered chairs out front. Inside wasn't much better... mismatched and grandma-ish. Didn't feel clean. Drinks were great! Bartender was very professional. Rib Eye was not hot. Salad was mediocre. Service was slow and unprofessional. Bummer of a meal...too bad.

    Just wanted to say I have only been here on Mondays for $1 an ounce Prime Rib. You basically tell them how many ounces you want and it is $1 a ounce. It is decent prime rib and comes with a salad. Not a bad deal especially for Cottage Grove. I think the only thing is you have to eat it in the bar, but you may be able to eat it in the restaurant as well. Might want to check on that. I try to hit this place when ever I remember on Monday. You have to get there after 5 but not to much later because they run out.

    Very good food, friendly staff in a quiet room with a carpet, living room furniture and soft jazz on the Muzak. We got off I5 in the middle of a long trip and decided to hunt around rather than accepting or a linoleum and formica ambiance. We came upon Stacy's in the historic district by (big surprise) the covered bridge. The menu and decor are imaginative, my wife's seafood Cobb salad was great as was my firehouse burger. If we had looked at the Yelp rating first we might have missed this delightful interlude.

    We decided to eat here based on the reviews. I ordered the french onion soup and it had way too much sugar in it. My husband enjoyed his salad. I ordered the prime rib and asked for Medium but there was no pink to it at all. It was cooked practically well. My husband wasn't too impressed with the lasagna. It was a bit watery and flavorless. Our waitress was really busy but the other one didn't seem as busy. It took quite a while just to get our drink order. Overall the food was edible but that's about it. The booths were very uncomfortable. The way the table legs sat you kept hitting it with your shin. This happened to be our last dinner in Oregon and it was the only restaurant that let us down.

    Yummy food. Try the steak crustini's the are really good. They have really good house salads, a bar rib-eye that you can get by the ounce. Every Monday is prime rib night. Tuesday's are sushi night. Wednesday's teachers get a discount. Thursday's are $3.75 LIT nights (fishbowl sized) I think it is every last Saturday they have a lobster night. I usually sit in the lounge and only go there if it is a Thursday-Saturday because Tyler is working :) Best bartender in town!

    We stopped in Cottage Grove for the night on the way to Seattle. Stacy's was recommended to us by the proprietors of the White House Bed & Breakfast. We had a glass of wine. There were many local wines to choose from. The wine was great. Sadly we did not eat there and cannot comment on the food, but everything smelled great and it was obviously very full and doing great business. The best part was how friendly everyone was, from patrons to servers. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. Our server gave us all kinds of information on sights to see, places to go, and all around great suggestions. We would go back again!
