Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

We arrived at 8:15pm concerned they were close to closing, we asked the hostess, she replied "I'm open until 9P, so you have 45 mins". We approached the salad bar only to find it had been pretty much removed, hot bar was almost empty. So she should have said you have 45 mins to eat whats left. We circled and left.

Izzys used to be a great pizza place of friday nights out when I was a kid, now Izzys is geared poverty stricken fattys. Nothing but fattening comfort food and all you can eat. Soooooo sad that they changed they're was. Great salad bar though

I love this place. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was great and good selection of food. Gray choice today

If you like pizza and kinda sad salad bars, this is the place for you at lunch. Haven't tried dinner yet. Seemed to have good selection of pizza slices but salad bar needs work and the staff are zombies, for the most part. Really busy at lunchtime. Prices are okay and coupons often available. Not rushing to go back, though.

They have changed the way the grill available works and not for the better. If you have kids its a great place to satisfy most of their likes. Personally I feel all the hot food tastes the same. And things are left for far too long under heat lamps.

If you walk away hungry from a lunch buffet at Izzy's, you've done something wrong. Granted, being full and being satisfied are two different things here. It is a little more pricey than some of the other good lunch buffets in town but it also has a wide variety of things to sample from. If you're looking for a better deal and/or better tasting food, I'd recommend checking out these lunch buffets: New China Delight, Evergreen Indian, or Papa's Pizza. It is good for large groups, so if you're planning a celebration of some sort, there's definitely room.

I first got exposed to the lunch buffet concept at this Izzy's. The obvious concept here is to provide a revenue stream for pizza places apart from dinner. So they convert the salad bar into a food bar for hungry lunchers. Works for me. If you want limited pizza selections coupled with fried chicken, pasta choices, and a few other continental selections - and you're hungry - this place will not disappoint. Izzy's is a NW chain, perhaps just an Oregon chain. I've eaten here and at the one in Bend. This one is cozier and less crowded than the one in Bend. Should have no trouble getting in and out during your lunch break.

Ick. Against my better judgement I ate here for a second time today. At first glance everything looks kind of tasty, but unfortunately it all tastes the same... like vomit. The only reason it didn't get one star is because they offered gluten free pizza, even though it was terrible. I left feeling really sick to my stomach from the poor quality ingredients and overall bad food. Will not go back. Ever.

The food is mediocre, the price is higher than the value, the "service" is more or less non-existent and seating is definitely fast-food. Maybe, if you're feeding a ravenous teenager who won't suffer from the quality and makes good use of the "all the refills you want" option, this would be worth it. Maybe. I ordered a steak which never came, and they shorted my refund. My neighbor ordered tacos that never came. I intend to finish the pattern by never coming back.

In town for a couple of days and was looking for a place to feed my teenager that has a bottomless gut! Pizza, salad bar and desserts were good. Didn't really have much else. The waitress was very very nice and went out of her way to make sure we had what we wanted. Not gourmet food, but it was good and price is reasonable.

Izzys used to be the place to go. Family friendly, good food, affordable price. We have eaten there several times a year in the past 15 or so years. We've taken groups, teams, had family celebrations, etc. Today will most likely be our last visit. I know there is a fine line between keeping food fresh and running out in a buffet type place, but when you run out of food repeatedly and have several people standing around or people leaving because they aren't getting food, then customers somehow need to be compensated. We asked our waitress about the lack of food, she expressed remorse and apologized for our wait. We asked her if she could discount our bill. She asked the manager, who said no. We were very disappointed. And in the future, we will take our business elsewhere.

Izzys in Corvallis USED TO BE the bomb! We had a large get together there after being out of the area for 9 years. The quality and selection is no longer there. The only good news is that it is no longer crowded!

Good: - Server was a nice older woman named Alma, best employee there. - Fairly strong Wi-Fi for free, made it very convenient to work. - Lots of LCD Monitors around with ESPN on, although there was no sound. - Pizza and Jo-Jo Potatoes were hot and fresh The Bad: -Cheesy bread was old, as was the pineapple upside down cake. - Seasoned Potato Fingers were burnt The UGLY: Did NOT enjoy bussing my own Drinks, I recall Albany not forcing that, why does Corvallis? Severely overpriced. $10.39 for lunch with a drink is outrageous. Will wait a good long while before coming back.

We needed a fast place to eat so chose Izzy's as I like their salad bar. For a change I decided on hot food as well but was really disappointed in the quality of the food - it was dried out and not good. When I told the cashier about it he simply said, "I better check into that". I was not happy with that response so wrote head office (on-line) to make a complaint. They forwarded my complaint to the local manager who instantly contacted me, apologized, thanked me for my input and sent me two vouchers for free dinners. If you're having a problem with the food, contact their head office (through the web site). They said they really want their customers to have a good experience and judging by how fast they responded to me, I'd say they mean it. If the food is consistently bad, and enough of us bother to let them know, hopefully we'll see an improvement.

Ugh and to think this place used to be my favorite pizza place growing up; where did things go SOO wrong? Maybe its the fact that their focus is purely on manufacturing mediocre buffet fare now instead of providing great pizza, but whatever it is, its not good! Stay away and at least go to another Izzy's location that still has pizza as their corner stone. I gave this place 2 stars only because of what they used to be; if I had only gone there once recently it would surely be 1 star. Oh yeah and its over-priced.

  • Jennifer E.

Um, gross! Don't bother exposing yourself to this place, run away!

Yuck. If you have no taste and want to pig out, or if you are a senior citizen looking for things that remind you of what you used to make at home and want that senior discount, come here, otherwise stay away, stay far away.

The server Patrick was really awesome, but he left. Food taste good but too greasy. You always need drink tons of water to quench your thirsty after eating their pizza. You almost always need to ask for extra napkin or "steal" it from the server's station. The bill board sign on 9th st in corvallis for Izzy's is cold and not attractive! Silver color of the sign reminds me of cold steel.
