We just spent 3 very fun, restful nights here. The owner, Diane, was so nice and welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Her breakfasts were DELICIOUS and delivered right to our door each morning. We stayed in the Timber room. It was very cozy. Very comfortable bed! Would definitely recommend for a fun, relaxing getaway!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon, during which we spent two nights at Sandlake Country Inn. We loved it! A few of the highlights: -The breakfasts! They were huge and delicious! They even made sure to accommodate my request for a vegetarian breakfast. -They had a beverage table available all the time with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Now this may not seem like a big deal, but I was actually coming down with a cold and having tea available all the time was wonderful. I really appreciated it. -We had the Starlight Suite which had a two person jacuzzi tub, a dining area, an area with a trundle bed (which we didn't use), the bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a deck. It was so much space, and it was all lovely. -They offer some extra add-ons, and the first night we had cheese fondue. We had gotten in kind of late and didn't want to drive around looking for a restaurant. It was plenty of food (came with bread and apples) and we ate it out on the deck overlooking the garden. Beautiful! -They recently upgraded the TVs in the room to flat screen, which made it even nicer to watch a movie as we chose to do one of the nights. They have a bunch of videos and DVDs downstairs to borrow. -Great suggestions for stuff to do in the area, both sightseeing and restaurants. Overall, we had an amazing stay at Sandlake Country Inn and hope to make it back some day! Thank you Ron and Diane, you truly made our honeymoon special!

My husband and I feel so rejuvenated after our two night stay in the Timbers Suite at Sandlake Country Inn. What a beautiful place to rekindle our relationship away from kids, pets, work and chores. First, the location is just about as quiet and pristine as you could want but close enough to Pacific City that in 15 minutes you can be sipping a glass of wine or brew at the Pelican Pub. The historic inn was built of bridge timbers from the shipwrecked Struan, and there are touches throughout the inn which shows off its history to full advantage. For example, an old ship hatches being repurposed for a bathroom sink counter. And exposed timbers in the hall and in our suite. All this with the more modern comforts like heat with controls in each suite, a fireplace already set for us to light, a flat screen tv with Tons of movies to choose from, three different WiFi routers to make sure you can stay connected if you want to be, and a very comfortable and substantial bed. Diane was such a gracious hostess. She and Ron (who was away for a few days) live in a dwelling separate from the historic house, so there is privacy for guests, which we valued highly. My husband had a bit of a cold during our visit and wanted nothing more than to rest and not have to make small talk. Diane doesn't impose at all but was quick to reply with a greeting and great conversation at our lead in the morning when she dropped off our amazing breakfasts. She is a pretty neat person, with a previous professional music background as a viola player, and she and Ron are avid travelers. Now, food. my husband is vegan and I'm vegetarian and it was so helpful to know that Diane could cater to our dietary restrictions. We had a scrumptious tofu scramble with fruit salad and pumpkin bread the first morning followed by a zucchini breakfast lasagna for want of a better word with baked oatmeal, fruit salad and more yummy pumpkin bread on the second. So good, so much food!! There is 24 hour coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a microwave in the main lobby along with cookies. Diane even left us a plate of vegan homemade peanut butter cookies in our room each day. All this for under $200/night including Tillamook County tax. A really really good deal considering the personalized but understated attention you get. We will be back. It was simply wonderful.

We stayed here on the 12th and 13th of this month in the Timbers Suite. If I had to describe the entire stay in one word, it would be WOW. The first thing my wife was excited about was the Bear statute at the front door holding a dry erase board with our names on it and welcome. That personal touch made my wife feel special. We then rang the bell and we were greeted by Diane. What an amazing person she is, full of energy and very welcoming. She told us about the house and how it was made and then told us about one of our favorite things, the coffee. There were also other items in the foyer for the guest. The coffee was what we liked the most. Then she showed us our room, The Timbers Suite. It's attached to the foyer where the coffee is. This was a big plus for us. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable. The couch was very nice as well. This room has a private patio where we could sit outside and watch the birds and the deer feeding in their yard. We did that for hours. My wife has hip and knee issues and it's very difficult for her to get into a tub. This Jacuzzi tub was very wide and she was able to get into it with ease. Getting out took some work, but because it was wide, she managed. She wanted to make sure I commented on the shampoo, bubble bath, and water. The shampoo and bubble bath smelled wonderful and combined with the "fresh" spring water they have pumped in made her skin and hair extra soft and smooth. They are eco friendly and have some metal bottles for your water. The spring water tasted very fresh and cool. What a nice touch that was. The décor of the room was very nice as well. Lots of details where put into the room. The bedside lamps are something you will never forget. Now, on to the breakfast. They bring you a beverage tray about one hour before they server you breakfast. It consist of the mornings juice and coffee as you request when you arrive. Then when you are served the amazing breakfast, it's accompanied by a personalized menu telling us what they were serving us. It was a little personal card, with our names on it and the menu. The little things like this mean the worlds to my wife and I. I don't want to spend the entire review on the food. I will say, it was a full course breakfast with lots of very fresh items like the blueberry parfait and home made granola. The best part for both of us was the seclusion away from the everyday and the mundane. What a peaceful break. Diane even has a typed out tour of her own that will take you around the 3 Capes area to see all the spots most people miss. We did a lot of them on Saturday and it was a very relaxing day seeing nature. The con I would like to mention about the Timbers Suite is the teeny tiny toilet that is very low to the ground. There is a bar to help you up, but my wife had difficult with her knees. Thank you Diane and Ron for your hospitality and wonderful personality. You are both amazing people and we look forward to another stay.

We had such a relaxing & super special time at this place! I love Pacific City but there aren't many affordable options that aren't divey motels. This inn was affordable, clean, extremely friendly, and, a mile away from a beautiful and secluded beach spot. Coffee and breakfast were delivered to our door for us to grab in our robes and eat in the room - super luxurious and private. We loved hanging out on the hammock outside and looking for deer in the afternoon, too. Highly highly recommended!

My wife and I have been coming to the Sandlake Country Inn for our anniversary for four years now and never make other plans. It's situated away from any of the hustle of tourists in the beach towns and we don't have to deal with traffic or crowds at all. It's a short trip north to Tillamook and a short drive south to Lincoln City. The whole central coast is easily accessible so you'll have lots to do. Recently they have begun offering a dinner option served in your room with a couple of different menu options. My wife had the salmon and I had the steak, it was a fantastic meal and meant we got to spend the whole evening in the cottage. There is wine available for an purchase, or you can bring your own along. All in all, we have a fantastic time when we book a weekend away at Sandlake. It's a great place to get away for a weekend or more.

This is just a wonderful, calm, quiet place. All the wonderful reviews aren't lying. The food was yummy; the lack of cell phone service, divine; the owls chatting amongst themselves and the privacy was fabulous. And she serves everything on Royal Albert "Country Rose" dinner ware... that just tops the cake... Just go surprise your Loved One... They will love it.

This the best b&b we have stayed in in Oregon.. the hostess is awesome, the rooms aren't all new and modern, they are rustic and private and it' s out in the country and just beautiful. And they do thing different for breakfast, she brings a tray of coffee to your room and leaves it by your door and knocks then at 9 or 9:30 she delivers the most wonderful, gourmet 4 course breakfast...homeade granolas, fresh fruits or poached fruits, a homemade muffin ....still warm!!!! And then fancy fritatas, or egg dishes..they are SOP wonderful you have work hard at trying to eat it all cuz it taste so good, oh and Diane the hostess will go out of her way to accommodate any dietary needs, milk free, meat free, gluten free, fat free what ever your needs and it will be delicious!!! My husband and I have been there 3 times and its always relaxing and just wonderful!!! Donna & Steven Portland, OR

Such an amazing stay. My husband and I stayed in the Rose room, it was so nice and cozy. Our host Diane was wonderful and made us feel so welcome and comfortable right away. Having never stayed in a B&B I was a little afraid of feeling like I was imposing on someone's home, not the case at all. Also, the meals that you eat are brought to your room so you are not obligated to speak to the other guests. Being a bit antisocial I really liked that aspect, it was one of the reasons I chose the Sandlake. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night, next time I will make sure to stay longer. The night of our check in we had dinner in our room prepared by Diane. I had the tenderloin option my husband had salmon both prepared perfectly. I had the minestrone as well, I think it may be the best I've ever had. Bread and dessert are included as well, both as delicious as the meal. In the morning we were brought a 4 course breakfast. Fruit, eggs w/ chives, sausage, and blueberry croissant French toast (OMG!!!!) were served. If you think you are going to get some lame continental breakfast here think again... We were stuffed!! I can't wait to go back, this place is a gem. Pacific City isn't far and either is the beach. Perfectly relaxing out of the way setting. Love.

We had an amazing stay here. To tell you the truth, we weren't sure of what to expect, when we drove up here. But this place is as charming as it can get! There are no views per-se, but it doesn't really matter. The innkeepers have an amazing setup here, and makes you forget what's outside. What's wonderful is, every little (I mean little) thing is thought through. Some of these are: - Hot pot for tea, with a variety of special teas - Cabinet full of wines and alcohol (In case you feel like having wine in the middle of the night). - Ton of books - Lots of movie DVDs and cassettes - Ton of audio CDs In room: Personal DVD and CD player Bath robes and slippers given (Although its kept in such a way, that it makes you want to use them :) ) Bathroom with a jacuzzi Many choices for soap etc. Lots of magazines for your reading Many inns might have all of this, but they've arranged it in a way (And also present in a way) that makes you want to enjoy all of them The icing on the cake was the hot, made to order, breakfast, with your personal menu printed on it! How cool is that. They ask you for dietary preferences, and prepare breakfast for you accordingly. That too a 4 course breakfast.. Again, amazing stay, amazing place, amazing innkeepers, amazing experience!

This B&B is really special. It is in a very beautiful country setting. All of the rooms are country style with many added features. We stayed in the starlight suite for our anniversary and we loved having the whole upstairs floor all to ourselves. The rooms all have hot tubs and fireplaces we had a huge deck. The landscape is lovely with many trees and flowers and birds. We saw a bald eagle fly over and some hummingbirds. It was so peaceful. This place has so much character and history. The owners Diane and Ron were awesome and Diane is the Best cook ever. My fiance is gluten free and she made him special gf treats and muffins during our stay. The coffee was incredible and we were told that Ron roasts his own coffee beans. So we purchased some to take back home. This place is really worth the stay and is in a great location in between all three capes. This B&B is a gem and we will be coming back next year.

You know you have decided on the right place to visit when the first person to welcome you (at your car door) is a happy, smiley dog (picture included). My husband and I went to the Sandlake Country Inn for our honeymoon, in August (2008). We made reservations without having been there before or having seen it in person. I grew up between Neskowin and Pacific City and wanted to find a place to stay that was romantic, but without the tourist rush. I researched Hotels and Inns along the Oregon Coast, and fell in love when I found the Inn's website: sandlakecountryinn.com Who wouldn't want to stay in a room made from a shipwrecked wooden full rigger?? The room (we chose the Timbers Suite) was amazing, and just as the website described: King sized wood canopy bed? Check! Whirlpool tub for two? Check! Private garden patio with entrance? Check! But there were a couple delightful touches the site didn't mention. For one, you're not only encouraged to use the wood burning fireplace, it comes fully prepared to light, and with directions! Secondly, the Inn supplies a binder of things to do and see in the area that's really wonderful. (One of their recommendations is to go to the local fish hatchery to feed the fish-- DO THIS!!) Thirdly, the whirlpool tub for two is lined with tall bottles full of different colored liquid bath soaps, each labeled in place and ready to make your bath time that much more delightful. Also- when they say a "sumptuous four-course hot breakfast is delivered to your door..." they really mean it. It even comes with a personalized and changing daily menu so that you know what each piece of the meal is. Have you ever had real 'strawberries and creme' before? I have, and I will never forget it! Did I mention there are bath towels *and* beach towels supplied in the bathroom closet? I love these people! So were there any details I didn't expect? Only slightly-- First, when you walk into the main portion of the Inn, you are met with a lovely entry area (with coffee, tea, front desk space, Inn-inspired things for sale, etc.) with a doorway to the immediate right (a sitting area), an opening to the left (the kitchen), and a doorway straight ahead. It turns out that the Timbers Suite is that room straight ahead. We found that we used the private garden entry after the first introduction to the room, because we enjoyed the outdoor space and privacy so much, but I will say being so close to the front area/kitchen can make you a little self-conscious of any *cough* honeymoon-inspired excess noise on your part during daylight hours. One more thing: the Inn lists itself as being *in* Pacific City, but it's North of P.C., past Tierra Del Mar. I'm not sure why it's listed as being part of P.C.? Still though, I would definitely make reservations at the Sandlake Country Inn again. It's a wonderful way to stay at the coast without feeling like you're one of the thousands of tourists down for the weekend. The owners and staff are wonderful people, very easy to talk to, and every detail is taken to make your stay a beautiful experience.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Inn this weekend--WOW! Diane, the innkeeper, is a perfectionist to the nth degree. It's the kind of place where you don't have to worry about details, since she's obviously been thinking about them for you all along. Need bubble bath for your fancy tub? There it is, and in multiple home-made organic varieties. Want to read a magazine on the window seat? There are only a few dozen on the table just to your left! Oh, and robes, fun/fuzzy socks for both the lady and the gentleman, a discreet knock on the door when the totally _amazing_ breakfast is delivered in the morning...Did I mention the perfection? If you can't relax in this dear little inn, delightfully absent of cellular reception and pretense in general, then the country setting is just not for you. Which is good, because then there will be more of those insanely delicious cookies in the cookie jar for me and my husband when we return. What the heck is IN those cookies?! Thank you, Sandlake Country Inn! We had a great time :)

We have made this our annual anniversary getaway for the last 2 years and have already made our reservations for 2013. We always request The Cottage, a little cabin separated from the main house nestled beside a quite creek and a true retreat from the world (of course, if you insist on emailing, the do have wifi). There are a multitude of amenities and special 'touches', not to mention the cookies. The breakfasts are to die for.... never, never had anything so yummy and presented in such a unique way. This is NOT your typical B & B community breakfast. It is private and sets the stage for a romantic encounter... served in two separate deliveries outside your door at the appointed time. The first tray to be delivered is coffee and juice, and a short time later a warm and welcoming picnic basket brimming with the most amazing multi-course breakfast ever! If you are looking for a getaway for either romance or to just a retreat from the busy world, you will be warmly welcomed in an environment that is country charming, private and beckons for you to return.

This was a perfect weekend escape from the daily grind. We found Sandlake Country Inn on the internet and decided to give it a try. Any trepidation we might have had ended the moment we were so warmly welcomed on the front porch. The house was built in 1894 from timbers from a shipwreck and hearing the story made it more charming than ever. we had complete privacy, quietness and a peaceful feeling here. You can walk around the gardens and grounds. Our room was an oasis of peace, huge 4 poster bed with tons of cushions and soft linens. We had our own jacuzzi tub as well. The 4 course hot breakfast brought to our room each morning was DELICIOUS! From the always available awesome cookies to the soft classical music playing in the parlor, this was the perfect place to enjoy the Oregon coast. The beach is less than a mile away and Pacific City 10 minutes and Tillamook about 20....wonderful areas to explore. The price is fantastic for all you recieve and we will return again and again! Steve and Jill September 4-6 2010
