Only 3 days in and staff is kind and very informed on what they have to offer. My kids grilled chess with tots was great and more than plenty for everyone to try. the spicy bean burger was above par it felt nice to eat at the wooden tables not cluttered with typical fast food "things" i recommend checking them out. While i was eating the owners and staff were decorating and all seemed very excited and jolly. I look forward to returning.

Just to be clear. There is no meat or meat products here. Based on the online menu you might think the burger might be some free range beef or something. IT'S A TRAP! I was really into getting a burger yesterday and was going to go here until I found out there wasn't any bacon cheese burgers to be had. Thankfully I was stopped before I made that mistake. That being said they make a very good black bean burger. I do like a good veggie burger, this one had good flavor but a bit mushy. The kale salad was good as well though chopped a little big and not well tossed. I will be back though and I wish them the best of luck.

Thrilled to have a veggie option here in Bend! My husband and son (omnivores) are big fans of the "sausage" burger but we are all hoping for improvement on the french fries. They are too much like a certain brand of frozen fries available at the grocery store. Room to grow there for sure! For the price, I am thinking they should aim for a more gourmet style. I ordered a fresh pressed juice and it was delicious! I'll be back to try out some other menu items but in the meantime you've gotta try the Kale Blazer!

I have only been there once, and I admit it, I had a hot dog but I love this place. It is very clean and comfortable. It also feels very 21st century - you need to think when you throw away your garbage (compost? recycle? trash?) and they have this cool soda machine. It feels very kid friendly. The staff is very friendly and helpful with the menu that is a little different - but yummy. The hot dog had tomatoes and cucumbers and a yummy fry-sauce like sauce. I can't wait to go back and have a hamburger.

Vegan and eco-friendly, in Bend! Yea this place is pretty great. They don't advertise being vegan rather being plant-based, even though it's all vegan even their milkshakes! Woohoo! If you're craving junk food, but vegan, get over here: hot dogs, burgers, fries, milkshakes.

We visited months ago, and my kids are still talking about the place and hoping we'll go back (we live 6 hours away). We thoroughly enjoyed the vegan food and the atmosphere, and applaud their efforts at recycling and composting. The burgers were fantastic and the staff very helpful. My kale salad was very tasty and large. My kids really liked the craft sodas - whoever heard of blueberry soda? I'd give it 5 stars, but they need better outside signage (we almost gave up trying to find the place).

Have come here for breakfast now as well several times. The breakfast bowl is excellent. Come support these guys, it is a great place.

This place is incredible! Vegan fast food! Their tempeh is decadent! The atmosphere is Poifect! They serve craft beer and craft soda! Very original! Extremely creative! Disclaimer,if you are famished from a 20 hour hike, it may cost upwards to 15 bucks to satisfy you hunger. But this is too be expected with plant based food. You will leave satisfied!!!

OMG, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. A menu where I could eat almost everything! I'm determined to get through every item - more trips to Bend, please. Anyway, meat-free burgers on gluten free buns doesn't sound very exciting. But, at NLB, it really is! I had the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. Amazing. I also had one of their craft sodas, on tap. Also amazing. If you're a non-meat eater (even if you aren't), don't eat gluten (or do), this place is such a score. Oh, and no, it's not the cheapest. But, there's a reason McDonalds can serve a burger for under $1 and you really don't want to know why. This is quality, humane and responsible food. When in Bend, you must make this a destination for at least one of your meals.

Im a vegetarian and was very excited to try this place. Food was good, but I was a little disappointed with the portion size for the cost. I understand that you pay more for quality, but for the same price I could've gone to red robin where I also love the veggie burgers and had a ton of fries. The sodas are good too.

I live in Portland and every time I visit my sister I must come here. The first was just as memorable as every visit. The music is pretty terrible but the blta is the best!!!!

This place blew me away. I was expecting something completely weird...fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised!!! I'm not a Vegan but I'll be coming back here. Delish!

Matt and the crew are super cool! I had the chili cheese dog and was very pleased! My two year old cannot get enough of their tater tots!

Their shakes are all under 350 calories and only 2.5g fat! And DELICIOUS. I was wowed by the fresh flavor of the strawberry and my husband loved the thick chocolate shake. It's wonderful that they do breakfast as well. I had one of the "Breakfast Bennys ": English muffin, tofu, fresh spinach, tempeh bacon w hollandaise sauce. It was very fresh, light and delicious. What a great start to the day! The grain-free pancakes were also delicious and filling. They are made with 100% whole foods. What do they put in there?! Mmmmm... And lunch...wow. What a treat to have a plant-based burger (and crinkle-cut fries!)! They have "meaty" burgers that are really spot on and satisfy the craving for a "real" burger. They also serve black bean burgers, quinoa burgers and I had the special, which was a tomato-basil burger. It was healthier tasting than their more "meaty" burger...but that was exactly what I was in the mood for. It was filling and super tasty. I highly recommend. They have such good business practices and I love their dedication to using compostable utensils and cups, etc. and their use of *mostly organic ingredients. Even the hand soap in the bathroom was locally made and natural/organic. The owners have done an incredible job of providing absolutely delicious plant-based meals and ethical business practices. Please support them. They are doing good in this world!!!

have been 3 times since you opened, I LOVE all the options I LOVE the bean and black rice burger with horseradish, and the All American. Try the tater tots dipped in thousand island dressing, the best dressing ever! I am not a soda person, but I did try the fair trade soda, and it was wonderful. The service, impeccable. thank you for a delicious option!

  • Jennifer L.

If you want vegetarian burgers, this is probably a good choice. If you're craving a traditional burger (with meat) this is the wrong place. Fountain drinks were interesting but all tasted like root beer with flavors added. Just plain root beer wasn't the best root beer. Food flavors and textures were lacking a lot. Environment is nice and clean.

Wow..... VEGAN in Bend..... The Next Level Burger is excellent and so are the fries. We also had the Black Bean Burger. Great service..... Eat local.... Eat plant based food..... It's yummy and healthy.... Thank you Next Level Burger for being in beautiful Bend Oregon.......

Awesome treat today - all American burger and special tomato basil burger! All animal based products from bacon and cheese! Love this place! Only complaint get thicker napkins - we would use less! Burgers are messy.

  • Daniel A.

This was by far the best vegan/vegetarian I've ever eaten. I tried the "Special Sauce" burger. It was excellent and the sauce was superb. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because while the burger was superb and the service was delightful, I was still hungry. I ended up eating granola to fill up. I wish the small $8 burger came with fries.

I am decidedly an omnivore, and don't know much about a vegan food other than my impression that most vegan dishes do not resemble anything suitable for an entrée or a main course. So, where to take someone for dinner who is a vegan? My dining partner considers a kale smoothie appetizing. I, on the other hand, would prefer a good steak. This accounts for our ending up at Next Level Burger. It is tucked away in the little mall across the street from the Village Baker, an area that seems unsettlingly dark after nightfall when all of the adjacent stores are closed. Like most hipster-oriented joints nowadays, it is comes in Industrial Chic: polished cement, steel chairs, and pastel colors. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The service was friendly and fast. I ordered the eponymous Next Level Burger with crinkle cut fries. As far as vegetarian burgers go, it was tasty and nicely textured. Given the choice, I would still prefer of burger made out of beef, but I did not find the vegan version objectionable. The fries were crisp, sprinkled with a spice that I couldn't quite put my finger on, and an organic house ketchup. My dining partner ordered the Quinoa Burger with tater tots. She loved both. I would skip the fries on my next visit and order the tater tots instead. The portions struck me as a bit small, and I am a light eater. If you consider a benchmark -- a Big Mac with large fries from McDonald's -- to be just right, you might wish to consider ordering either two burgers or extra fries at this restaurant. All in all, a decent option when you are looking for vegan food.

  • Erik L.

Burger had decent flavor & texture, but the bun was way too small for the patty. Chili dog was bland and tough. Chocolate milkshake was bland & needed more chocolate. Soy milk does alter the flavor a bit, but works well except for the occasional ice crystal.

  • Sarah D.

I'm still confused about what I just ate. Is the next level burger real meat? Super bland, horribly boring to eat, piece of cardboard. As much as I loved the sweet potatoe fries, you couldn't make a meal out of them. Love the concept of this place, but if you are a carnivore, you are likely to leave sad.

  • Sean H.

Fantastic food. Nice to find great, vegetarian "fast-food". There were 4 people working and only 1 other party and it took longer than it should have to order and the other employees seemed a bit oblivious. They were nice when we finally got there, but again slow on the ring-up. Food came out quickly and delicious.

  • Eric B.

If you were to take Chicago Diner and blend it with Native Foods, you'd have something that closely resembles this place. Excellent, satisfying vegan food at reasonable prices. Krautwich - great flavor, nice texture on the tempeh Tomato Soup - well balanced, slightly aromatic Kale - flash sauteed, smokey, delicious Cookie Shake - light, creamy, refreshing It's somewhat difficult to find -- we ended up driving by the plaza since the sign is kinda hidden -- won't ever miss it again!

  • Madelyn D.

Don't be confused. Bacon = tempeh. Cheddar = vegan. Milk shake = soy. But if you want "clean eating" with options, try nlb out. So Cal burger (on cashier rec) was tasty, but basic. The sweet potato chips aren't fresh, as I'd expected. They are made with sprouted quinoa too. So, more like a sun chip than a potato chip. They were fine, but didn't seem "homemade" which I would expect for the very small bag at a price point of $2.50. I was really impressed with the soda selection. Home run there.

My friend and I crashed in Bend for the night on our way to Crater Lake. Since we are both vegans we figured our dinner would be something from Whole Foods. Fortunately we were smart enough to do a google search for vegan joints in the area. A great find! The burger was very tasty! Its always great to go to a vegan place where they have their own creations. Too many places are lazy and use Boca or other store bought patties. Who knows when I will be back in Bend, but when I am this will be my first stop. You should make it yours too. The one thing I would suggest to the owners is to lose the phrase "meaty patty" from the menu. This could confuse people, since the term "vegan" is nowhere to be found on the menu or website. PS. Tater Tots are great too!

  • Lex E.

I had really high expectations for this place, but found the food to be simultaneously unremarkable and processed. While the burger was juicy and passable (a bit bland perhaps but fine) ...the fake cheese was totally gnarly. Slimy wet texture and gross tasting. Better to have left it off entirely. I appreciate the concept of this place but seems like it's trying too hard to be, well, conventional. Boring.

  • Rick K.

Just great! Finally an all plant based place in Bend that delivers the goods. It's casual with an incredibly friendly staff with great music playing. As a physician who strongly encourages plant based diet as a way to improve health & potentially decrease medicine this place is an awakening to the Bend food scene. This cardiologist would rather write Rx for NLB than medications any day!

  • Madelyn L.

It's so great to finally have a vegan restaurant in Bend! Most places here don't even have a mushroom burger but this place is entirely vegetarian and delicious!

  • Adam H.

So, to be totally honest, this place got about 3 stars from me before I even walked in. A vegan burger joint? Yeah, basically they just had to not screw it up. And screw it up they decidedly did not. I had a sausage burger - super good - chili cheese fries - even better - and a vegan brownie. Amazeballs. And they are super nice and the decor is modern but friendly. America needs this kind of restaurant so, so badly. And here it is! My only suggestion: free WiFi.

    (5)
  • Dave K.

Absolutely delicious. It is amazing the smaller size of the burger is soooo filling and satisfying when it is real food. Had the nl sausage burger, tater tots and a cookies and cream shake. My wife had the spicy burger, sweet potato fries. We actually took some home we were so full. We are it small people either. Great food. Great service. We'll be back for sure.

  • Kelsie R.

While a bit spendy, it's a super yummy alternative to the usual. I never order veggie burgers at restaurants... it usually just tastes like bread on bread. I got the sausage burger and it was just ok. It had the common flavor of vegetarian sausage dogs you get at the store... or similar to Field Roast. Not my favorite. The Mr. got the regular burger and it was AWESOME. For the price I wished it was a bit bigger. The cheese is a sort of queso - not slices. We'll definitely be back!

  • Eric B.

We really had high hopes for this spot...and the actual experience was way below our expectations. I thought it was interesting when I asked if everything was vegan that they responded by just saying we are 100% plant based...not sure if its an image or marketing tactic to avoid using the word vegan? Anyways, while the concept is excellent, the food was just alright. For the price I wish the burgers were heartier. The next level burger didn't go above and beyond a boca burger and the spicy bean burger was good (though very crumbly)...but not mind blowing. The biggest disappointment was the chili cheese fries. The fries and chili were mildly warm and the fries tasted slightly soapy? Also, cheese was just barely there...a sprinkle of daiya (or something similar) was all they were using....it was a bummer. Fingers crossed that its just the early stages and they will work out these kinks and improve.

  • Sue B.

We were a bit disappointed with our lunch. We are Vegan, and was excited to read some of the great reviews. My husband ordered the Next Level Burger and fries and I had the Ball Park Hot Dog. I enjoyed my hot dog, good flavor and toppings..but all of our food was really lukewarm. The French fries were cold, and tasted like they were cooked in an oven with "something burnt baked on".....the burger had a very distinct smokey flavor, that my husband said he tasted for hours afterwards. Super friendly staff, clean, fresh atmosphere....and we really enjoyed the music. Think we'll stick to real food, than Vegan food trying to taste like meat.

    (2)
  • Cat N.

Ha! Maybe healthy is just not for me. Great concept but I felt like it was missing something. Yeah...something like the meat! Vegans would probably really like this place but I won't be going back. I had the chili cheese dog with a side of hummus. The hot dog was just okay but the hummus had no flavor. The vegi's they provided for dipping where par boiled and a bit limp. Let's just say my experience was underwhelming to say the least. My friend had the bacon cheese burger and didn't realize it was all plant based food. It was funny to watch him take the first bite. He said "this is an interesting burger" as his way of sounding polite. Be kept looking at it in a strange way like he was trying to figure something out but couldn't put his finger on it. I waited until his last bite to tell him the truth. Once the cat was out of the bag, we both laughed. I guess he won't be coming back either :(

No question 5 stars. I had the special burger with sweet potato fries and avo kale salad. Coming back tomorrow!

I love Next Level Burger- delicious and I don't feel disgusting afterwards. Nice space, kale juice is expensive but legit!

  • Suzanne L.

I really wanted to like this place, because it is really hard to find a decent meatless burger. But I was sorely disappointed in NLB. The service was good- the girls at the counter were friendly and helpful and our food was delivered to our table quickly and it was hot. We ordered a "happy dog" for my 2.5 year old daughter; it tasted nothing at all like a hot dog and she wouldn't eat it. My mom ordered the signature burger and said it was "okay." I ordered the "all-American burger." The patty itself was rather tasteless, the "bacon" was insanely salty, and the "cheese" tastes like nacho cheese, but with a more concentrated flavor. I couldn't finish it. I also ordered a vanilla shake, and it just didn't taste like vanilla at all. And it started separating halfway through our meal into white frothy stuff and a clear liquid. Gross. It was bad enough to make me want to eat the real thing, even though I haven't eaten a bacon cheeseburger in over 10 years. I feel bad writing this review, but it really was awful.

    (1)
  • Janet L.

Was expecting so much more! Bean burger bland (costco's are way better), sausage burger edible, cheese bad, chili non-edible.

  • Thom G.

A pretty good start. Love the sodas, burgers are well put together. My restaurant manager girlfriend noticed some things that need tweaking, as did I. Ketchup in small bottles, held behind the counter, is a little weird. Organic ketchup can be bought in big pump jugs. And I waited forever for a hostess to get me more as they were busy and just kept walking by me. Frustrating. Put it out for your customers and trust them- they are eating here as they want to do the right thing anyway. You would save on employee strain, and not come off as a tightwad. Country music on the West side? Reeeeeeally? Turns a lot of people off. Sides are way overpriced for their size- $2.50 for a child size fry, or sweet potato "chips" that appear to have come from a bag. Will be back, but hope they improve. Staff seemed overwhelmed as well, and I heard a woman complain that she had left a phone order a half hour before, but they had never checked their messages, so it was not ready. I have heard some complain that they were "tricked" into eating a veggie burger as nothing in the restaurant says "veggie". Board also says "bacon" and "cheese". Why risk angry rednecks (who would love the music), why not be PROUD of the concept and shout it! And ok, now it's rap after 5 country songs. Not really an improvement. Will have to sit outside next time.

The Next Burger was tasty and filling. Fries and chili were good as well. Great strawberry shake. This is a good value.

  • Brittney P.

Being a vegetarian I was eager to try this place. First of all chilli cheese fries. Awesome. They were so good! I also got the next level burger, the patty was tough and dry and the cheese was rubbery. It tasted like a fast food burger. Maybe I'll try something else next time because I will be back for the chilli cheese fries.

  • Silvia K.

We went on what was apparently their busiest day to date. Even so, the wait was not significant and the food was really good. Their fries are awesome and our kids LOVED the shakes. This will become a staple in the repertoire.

Love the food! So tasty and healthy! The people who work here are very friendly too. Highly recommend!

  • Evan J.

Thought I'd eat healthy and ordered the Sweet Greens salad ($7.50). Very tasty, but sadly, not much larger than the typical dinner-salad sized to accompany a meal, rather than BE the meal. Very, very expensive for a few greens, a few slices of apple and some candied walnuts. Add about 50% more to this and you'd have a very satisfying entree-sized portion.

excellent experience every time I have been . So happy to have more vegetarian/vegan options in Bend. Great food, great service, thank you!

Great place to eat, yummy food, and the employees are super awesome! The waitress/ casher went above and beyond to satisfy a picky customer, I was very impressed!

  • Geoff B.

Great find! I am new to the whole vegetarian thing (going on a year, with only a couple of relapses) and the one food item that keeps calling me is a nice big burger with fries on the side. NLB satisfies that craving. One request: hatch green chile cheese "burgers" are a must (but I don't count off for not having them on the menu). Actually, one more: open in Eugene! My family and I would be regulars.

    (5)
  • Erika L.

I love that they aim to use as much organic ingredients as possible! And it's still so affordable!

    (5)
  • Dave C.

Excellent vegan burger joint, complete with sodas and shakes. They also have hot dogs and coneys (which I didn't get). I'd skip the fries. They are mediocre and they skimp on the portions (I know, I shouldn't be complaining about getting less of mediocre food, but I just want them to know they really need to fix both aspects). Burger was really good. I would very much prefer grilled onions to raw. Also refreshing: no tip jar. Very clean and well designed/branded. This place could easily (and should) become a chain. Bring the next one to the SF Bay Area please!

    (5)
  • Autumn R.

Two stars because the staff were friendly and the sweet potato fries ($3.50 for a small handful) were good. The All American burger ($8.00) tasted of cardboard (bland) and the cost is quite high what you're getting. I'm all about trying new things and vegan doesn't scare me, but this was bad.

  • Shannon L.

Wonderful addition to the Bend foodie scene ! As a vegan I'm thrilled to have an entire menu of delicious options- and as a mom I'm so pleased to have a heathy burger joint to take my son to! Highly recommend!

  • Shannon E.

I had a special, the "white bean pumpkin burger" and it was delicious! Looked really appetizing and the texture was good. Most "bean burgers" fall apart into a pile of beans when you bite into them, this one didn't. It came on a whole wheat roll with arugala, fresh sliced red onions, tomatoes, ketchup and I could have had mayo, but chose not to. My husband had the "sausage burger" and it was surprising to me how much it tasted like sausage! He really like it, although he is definitely meat guy. We shared a side of sweet potato fries that were fresh and done perfect. The house water was flavored with fresh lemons. All in all, a very nice dinner! I'd go back.

    (5)
  • Jessica H.

No meat of any kind! They are trying to hide the fact that they are meatless. I was craving red meat, went here, and then only when I asked if the hot dog was beef, was I told that "there is no meat here." If there's no meat, then why so expensive? If there's no meat, then why conceal that fact? Weird. My food, once ordered, took about 15 minutes to cook. So not fast food either. The signature burger had some kind of fake cheese that's more like mayo. The gf bun was good. BUT: 4 stars because delicious!

  • Marlene C.

My daughter who is a meat eater and I went to Next Level Burger last week. The food was delicious. The staff was efficient and friendly. The shake was excellent. My chili dog was delicious. My daughter's sausage burger was out of this world. We plan on going again but I will take my husband who is also a meat eater next time. I would recommend this place to everyone.

We have eaten here twice and have loved everything we've had. Really high quality ingredients and a great value as well. And the staff are so helpful. Ecstatic that they are calling Bend home! Great concept, great food, great value and great service... Also very enviro conscious. Special place!

This is a great vegan spot in west Bend. We're from Portland so it is nice to see a vegan joint when traveling. We also hear they're opening a Hawthorne street location in pdx! The hot dogs are good, but the burgers are the shining stars. I recommend adding the extras such as chili, jalapenos, garlic, or whatever you're feeling. Also, the tater tots are delicious!! The place is made very eco friendly and everything is compostable. Food is non gmo and mostly organic. I highly recommend it!

    (5)
  • Sherryn A.

Better. Still too expensive. Person taking our order said, "Something to drink? You probably just want water." Chided him for not upselling, but then, maybe even he thinks NLB is too expensive. The signature NLB was ok; my teen really liked it. Sweet potato fries were appallingly greasy and limp; tater tots were almost as bad. $27.50 for 2 NLBs, sweet potato fries, tots and two tap kombuchas. Zydeco's unparalleled veggie burger with a generous side of flavorful couscous is $9; a NLB with a very small portion of sweet potato fries or tater tots is $10.75. Again, Z wins and I still find that amazing. But, also very happy that the nutrition info is up. Made me feel better about the experience. PS: the kombuchas were very good!

Holy Moly! This place is off the hook. Hands down, these were the best Vegan burgers I've ever had. They even had a smoky flavor like they were straight off a BBQ. I've had vegan food all over the country, but this place is now at the top of list. I literally cannot believe this place is 100% vegan....that's how good it is. I've been vegan for 5 years now, and NEVER have a had a burger like this.

  • Devin W.

I was excited to finally try NLB in Bend before playing a show right next door at the Volcanic Theater and Pub. I am also excited that NLB will be opening a store in Portland very shortly! Anyway, I had a burger with smoked tempeh and it was really good. The patty was reminiscent of Gardein, but they make one of the better vegan patties, so I'm cool with that. I'm really excited to try the rest of the menu when the Portland store opens. Also, please read the details on some of the negative reviews on here. Many are from people who were just butt hurt to find out their are no animal products on the NLB menu, but are not actually commenting on whether they food was tasty or not.

I've got to say, I had low hopes of finding a suitable vegan place while on vacation but my friend said he saw a review for this newish burger place and we had to stop by, despite exhaustion, on our way back from Sunriver to Portland. I'm glad we did! The quinoa black chia burger was extra tasty, the strawberry shake we shared was delicious (I haven't had a shake in yearrrrrs), and my buddy said his next level burger was deceptively meaty. Despite not having an IPA on tap, currently, the owner (I believe?) had us try one that they were tthinking about offering. Pigwar, bring it.

  • Ka S.

I loved this place so much that I came back for breakfast the next day, even though my time in Bend was less than 24 hours. This is my new "regular" spot for all Bend adventures. When my (omnivore) boyfriend and I tasted our burgers, we were both delighted and relieved to have found a wonderful place to feed both of us on the cheap in Bend. I had the spicy bean burger - delicious - and he had the Next Level burger. We shared tater tots because of other Yelp reviews and they were also pretty amazing. Breakfast! The "Bennys" were out of control delicious. That hollandaise sauce is so rich and flavorful. The portions are generous and fueled a full day of skiing. Service was excellent. Staff were patient and kind while we salivated over the menu. Multiple staff members asked us how we liked our food and if we needed anything - not in an invasive way, but made us feel comfortable.

Came to bend seeking the best of the best. This place is it. We are vegetarians so we are always looking for places that do amazing vegetarian foods. We were not disappointed. Everything about out experience was healthy and responsible. On top of that super super yummy. I look forward to coming back to Bend just to visit and have my next plant based burger on the next level.

  • Natalie H.

I walked in ignoring all of the overt advertising reminding me that my meal would be entirely plant based and then I was pleasantly surprised! Their pattys were flavorful and moist, not crumbly or dry. They had many options for toppings and sides - a tad bit overwhelming. After I walked in, I enjoyed a very tasty burger and shake, and when I walked out I didn't feel like I had had a burger and shake. Happy tummy :-)

Words to describe this little piece of amazing-ness nestled in the heart of the west side?...well, amazing-ness! It was SO hard to choose off of the incredibly delicious sounding menu. The staff gave probably the best service I have ever had & the food was superb. Seriously tasty. I think I found my new favorite restaurant! Thanks NLB for all that you are, I'm only sorry I didn't come dine any sooner!

This place is AWESOME!!! Before going to Bend, I was on the lookout for vegan restaurants. When I first saw this place pop up on Yelp, I wasn't too sure and thought it was one of those unhealthy fast food type of vegan restaurants. I'm so glad that wasn't the case at all! They're very health-conscious, non-GMO, mostly organic and offer lots of gluten free options as well. Their sweet potato fries are baked with no oil added and you would never think it when you try them because they are SOOOO good and crispy. Pancakes are gluten free and probably the best vegan pancakes I've ever had! Some other items I've tried and loved are: breakfast bowl, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, cobb salad, SoCal burger and the ridiculously delicious, soft-on-the-inside, crunchy-on-the-outside brownies. YUM! And they have THE BEST gluten free buns! Everyone who works there is super friendly and the owner is very nice and very health-conscious. Nothing better than eating delicious food that happens to be good for your health, the animals and the planet as well! I'm not embarrassed to say that I've had 90% of my meals here over my 6 days in Bend! :)

I wandered in thinking I would grab a quick pre-show burger but didn't expect it to be a vegetarian joint. The lovely woman at the counter recommended the grilled cheese with half Swiss and half Cheddar. They were delicious! The rest of the menu looked great too. If this company was near my work is have a much better regular lunch spot!

Well I fell in love with this place pretty instantly. The employees were incredibly helpful and appeared quite happy. I hope this means they love their jobs. The food was amazing! 100% vegan, compostable, organic and non GMO. Zero complaints. Well except that I want to go here everyday and there isn't one in Eugene...yet. Came back for the second day in a row. I just love this place. There seems to be intention behind everything - food trays, paint on the wall, tables - everything has a responsible thought behind it. Very happy to support such tasty food!!!

Awesome burgers and sweet potato fries. Nice and quiet on a Sunday night. Close to the river too which makes it a perfect bike-to or walk-to destination. ALL FOOD IS PLANT BASED. You won't get a juicy meat burger but the food is delicious.

Excellent customer service! Delicious food! Nice, open layout. The soda fountain is stocked with great choices. They also have kombucha on tap. Y'all definitely need to open a location in Eugene asap!

So.... Please know that ALL their food is plant-based. I was not a fan of the burger (because I very much love meat products) - but that is not the fault of this place. They cooked a very good burger and have some pretty awesome products to offer. The service was very helpful, friendly, and phenomenal. The only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars is just that the burger wasn't a perfect fit for me. If you are up to try something new, or looking for plant-based (meat alternative) products - such as BLT, burgers, shakes, and fries - I would recommend this place.

Super tasty, healthy food... all of it! I've had most everything on the menu, and enjoy it all. The original and tempeh burgers are my fave, with the swiss-style cheese, tots, and a coconut-based chocolate shake. Salads are also inspired with unique dressings Will go back... just like every week :)

Yummy food and friendly service. A causal place for a plant-based meal. For the price, the portion size of the fries was small. I was a bit disappointed by that. Overall, I enjoyed NLB. I can't wait to try a milkshake :)

We are vegetarian and we were excited to try this place. The experience was overall positive. The prices are great. My kids grilled cheese sandwiches were tasty. The tomato soup was very salty- almost not edible. The so cal burger was tasty and the special sauce burger was good but a bit dry. I loved the array of sodas. I'd try this place again.

Awesome food, awesome people. Stopped in for coffee at Backporch next door, and stumbled upon this place for breakfast. I had the brekky sandwich (whole grain English muffin with tempeh sausage, tofu, and fresh tomato and spinach). Everything tasted so fresh and delicious, my only regret was not ordering the tall stack of pancakes that I saw being carried by me. Excited to try this place for lunch next. If you're looking for something that will leave you full without the guilt, this is the place.

Woo hoo! Yummy vegan food in Bend! I was only in Bend for 3 days and I went to Next Level Burger twice for their B.L.T.A.! Super friendly folks working there too. I can't wait to go back! Wish they'd come to the Bay Area!

I had an awesome experience at Next Level recently. Aside from a few tips and suggestions I provided in a message on FB (which are below), overall I enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. I had the All American, a side of tater tots, and a chocolate peanut butter cup milkshake - coconut based. mmm... I loved it! I also heard one customer say "This is plant based? I'm impressed! This is really good!" It made my day! I loved my milkshake, but towards the end the straw started to get soggy and quite useless. I know it's made out of paper and so was more environmentally friendly, but wondered if perhaps there is a way to make it sturdier? Or use a different type of straw? Maybe bamboo? 2. I also noticed the cups and the serving containers for the ketchup were made out of compostable material which is good in theory, but in reality doesn't make much of a difference and sometimes requires more energy to break down. Asked if they have thought about using reusable containers and cups for these things instead. I know it would mean using water to wash them, but overall I think this would be the more sustainable option. 3. I enjoyed reading most of the signs up on the walls. I understand the intent of a lot of the messaging but found some of the messages to be a bit much, and some could be offensive or inaccurate since they alluded to burgers and fries being a health food, and some signs contained what some would consider fat phobia messaging. Other than those 3 things I am really excited for this business and for them coming to Portland - although I wish it was in the NE. Being in the Hawthorne area will be great though since there is nothing like their business in that neighborhood already.

    (5)

    (4)

Boring.

  • Tracy P.

Wonderful addition to the Bend foodie scene ! As a vegan I'm thrilled to have an entire menu of delicious options- and as a mom I'm so pleased to have a heathy burger joint to take my son to! Highly recommend!

Was expecting so much more! Bean burger bland (costco's are way better), sausage burger edible, cheese bad, chili non-edible.
