Only the best sushi I have ever had. And so reasonable in price. I recommend the Coco!

Ok, so since this manager change or whatever, the quality of the food has declined, and so has the service. This has been my family's favorite sushi place in Bend for the last 3 years, until now. This time, our shrimp sushizza (baked) was luke warm, and the rice was really soggy. The time before this, we had asked for extra creamy sauce on it, but they forgot, so it came on the side. The time before that, we ordered a shrimp sushizza, and instead got a SQUID sushizza. This has all happened within the past month or so. The last manager knew us as soon as we walked in the door, and started making our food as soon as he saw us. It was baked to perfection and always right. I'm disappointed with the change.

Don't walk away...RUN! There's a reason why the prices are so reasonable! Why oh why did I forget to check the Yelp reviews first! One bite and my taste buds screamed FISHY FISHY FISHY and we asked for the check! This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We ordered 4 rolls and the very first bite of one was completely vile. Grocery store sushi would be considered 5 star in comparison to what they serve here. We didn't feel like getting Montezuma's revenge so we decided to cut our losses and go somewhere else. The owner was so pissed off when we asked for the check she literally started yelling at us! She said "fish fresh...you no have to pay but don't say it not fresh...fish is fresh"!!! Over and over again she professed the fish was fresh and kept pointing to the yellow tail roll. Then she yelled "which one not fresh?". When I said "the spider roll" she no longer defended the product. Apparently SOME of the fish was fresh haha! She then STORMED off with the platter in hand over to the kitchen. To our surprise, and half the restaurants, you could hear her literally chuck the platter into something (hopefully the trash) with such power it sounded like an explosion! Everyone was looking around and our eyes bulged and mouths dropped in aw! I'm glad she didn't try to pass the uneaten rolls unto some other unsuspecting customer! She then walked back to our table and threw the receipt down with such bitterness and rage in her eyes it was scary, then stormed off. So sad to see an owner of a restaurant act this way. No apology, no "can I get you something else"! Wow, what ever happened to good ol' customer service? Maybe that's the way Japaneses business owners treat their customers. Not sure but thought she was going to pull out a Japanese samurai sword and hack us down before we got out of there. If your food sucks, it sucks! It shouldn't be a surprise and defending crappy food is a joke. Have some humility and know when your product isn't even dog worthy and just hope for patrons without tastebuds. Upon further review, I found out that this company buys large quantities of fish when the prices dip and then they freeze prior to sending it out to all their restaurants making a higher profit. The reason the prices dip people is because the fish is getting OLD!!! FROZEN SECOND OR THIRD QUALITY FISH! My friend told me she knows someone who works there and how miserable the staff is. She said they get yelled at all the time. Dear Yelpers, we are eating raw food that needs to be fresh (without worms) so we don't get sick! I can only hope this place goes under so another establishment can take over. How in heck has this place lasted. Anyone that might think this is good sushi is what I would consider a crime. Amen!

This is the most ghetto Japanese restaurant in Bend. I guess it's fitting that it's in the mall, but the old mill district is pretty classy. You can seriously get better food in an airport. Miso soup is hard to mess up but it is possibly the worst I've ever had, bland, clear-ish, with a few strands of seaweed and 2 tiny bits of tofu. The avocado in my roll was black and slimy. The one star was for our super sweet server who agreed about the avocado and swiftly replaced it.

Decent food, but slow service. We waited close to 45 mins for our Bento orders. When I asked about it the waitress looked annoyed and said it was done but she had been doing something on the computer and would get it right away. We waited another 5-10 minutes after that.

This place is just so-so. Reasonably priced, located in the Old Mill Shopping Center. We went their during our holiday shopping. Clean, no wait, quick service. We tried three different rolls and the calamari. The sushi was just ok. The consistency of the rice wasn't what I was used too. Really starchy, dense. Not sure how else to describe it, the texture overpowered the fish. The Old Mill offers some options that we can't find with the local shops, so we are there fairly frequently. Lots of choices of places to eat and I will try Mio again. We like sushi, so I'm not giving up.

Terrible service!!! You will be ignored for hours on end. The food is not that wonderful, so it's not even worth the wait. I try to avoid this place at all costs. There are much better sushi places in Bend. Trust me.

We are from out of town and went shopping at the Red Mill shops. We assumed because of all the nice shops and restaurants that sushi would be great here. Big mistake. Should have been a clue when the booth we were sitting in was patched with duct tape. Sushi did not taste fresh and we got back to the hotel and my two kids have been sick. I have no doubt it was from here. I don't like writing negative reviews but Horrible experience.

I would not call this fantastic sushi. Average at best. We did have a good waitress who helped us eat quickly so we could get to the movies. The energy of the restaurant is one like the management is not customer service oriented. That and it's in this beautiful setting, but the minute you walk inside the energy changes. Bad lighting? Weird table set-up? All that and mediocre sushi makes for a weak dining experience. But the waitress we had was great, so I gave an extra star.

Mio sushi is a franchise and they have the same rolls at every one of their restaurants. I frequently went to the one in Hillsboro, OR and their sushi was delicious. I was excited that they had one out here when I moved but For some weird reason this place was not as good. I guess it depends on the owner. There rolls were made a little different and I really didn't care for it. Also their wait staff was really rude. My friend and I sat at the bar and ordered from the sushi chef since the waitress took forever to come. Then we got scolded about ordering with the sushi chef instead of her. It was such a terrible experience that we actually stopped ordering, paid, and left. I wouldn't recommend this place. There are other sushi places that will treat you with respect versus a child.

  • Nicole S.

The service leaves a lot to be desired. If you have a bunch of time to kill and don't mind mediocre (at best) sushi, this will be your spot. Otherwise, Bend has several other delicious places to try.

  • J S.

It was edible and didn't make me sick, but the fish tasted and looked old. The interior and decor could use a major upgrade. The food came quickly, which was nice. If you're already in the Old Mill, go somewhere else.

A disgrace to Japanese food around the world, just don't. I think they put ketchup in my Yakisoba.

  • Brian C.

Wow some of the worst sushi I have had. I am usually not this negative but I believe they earned it. A few things to back up their rating. Spicy tuna was spicy mush with dry flavorless rice. It also had a fishy flavor (which will come into play later in my review) I believe that all rolls should have solid pieces of fresh fish not ground up fish. Sunset roll was srtight up fishy awkward flavor, again dry flavorless rice. The roll basically tasted like fishy cream cheese. Wasabi was so watery I had to scoop it off the plate. I couldn't grab it with my sticks. Miso was good but it's hard to mess that up since it comes from a packet 90% of the time. This was packet for sure. All this combined gave me the gift of waking up in the morning with diarrhea. They are basically serving old fish and trying to cover it up with cream cheese or chili sauce. I would pass on this one.

Service is better because they don't have anything to do. No Friday night happy hour! Waitress said people coming in and asking if happy hour - they move on when they learn that there isn't Friday happy hour. Best marketing move? If ordering rolls they are now using Krab. You can request real crab for $1 more. Well worth it.

Such good sushi for a good price. My husband and I are big sushi fans and love going to Mio as often as we can. Quick service, fair prices and amazing sushi. I wouldn't have expected that in Bend. Pleasantly surprised. So delicious!

So, our FIRST experience with this place was take out. The woman who took my order over the phone was super friendly and the experience was positive. What surprised us the most was the presentation. In my experience, take out usually isn't all that impressive in the presentation, but this place, they even make take out look great. They forgot one of our rolls and while they told me it would all be ready in 30 minutes, it took more like 45 minutes. Good was excellent both visually and taste. We came back for lunch a week later - our waitress was an Asian woman, she really acted as if she was doing us a big a favor, and while her service was spot on, her demeanor could really use a little help. Smile a little for goodness sake. Again, food quality was fantastic... Overall, I recommend this place, food is great, prices are fair, and they have a fantastic location.

We have sushi mio's in Vancouver, Wa and this does not live up to what we've come to expect from this chain. Their tempura was nothing like we've ever had before. It was dense and did not taste good at all. The tempura sauce had no flavor. And they were out of the beef that we love to have. Everything else was good-ish but again just not up to the high standards we expect.

    (2)
  • Kelly U.

Not impressed with Mio one bit. Their rice tasted old and everything just tasted so bland. The fish was alright, but definitely not the freshest I've ever had. Everything is reasonably priced and the restaurant was clean with good service, but the food just isn't anything special to make me want to come back.

    (2)
  • Rachel P.

Probably the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered the Lovejoy roll with crab and shrimp. The menu didn't state that the crab is crab mix. The crab mix had a tart sweetness to it, which made it difficult for me to finish eating the roll. I'm sure there's better sushi in Bend. However, on the plus side, my order was ready within 5 minutes of placing my order, contrary to the other reviews.

Pretty good food. Service is extremely slow. Udon was inedible because it was so salty. Sent it back and my kid got the ribs instead. California rolls were fresh and pretty good. Goma salad with shrimp was really fresh I would recommend it. Kalbi ribs- my daughter devoured them. Chicken Bento box- my daughter ate ALL of it.

Not sure what the deal is with the low ratings for Mio, their sushi is very good! I think I can save everyone a lot of hassle by clarifying that "krab" means imitation crab, so don't order any rolls with it! I have eaten there twice this week and it was great both times. Fish is fresh, rice is perfect, rolls assembled well and the place is clean and staff friendly. Great happy hour from 4-6 Monday through Thursday too. My wife thinks it's the best in town because of a combination of creative rolls, quality fish and solid value. I think that the downtown fusion place (not to name names) is right there but given the way better prices and selection of Mio, I will at least give them a tie. Note I'm only rating sushi not other stuff from either of the two. However, I will mostly go to Mio as the prices are so good and the rolls more interesting. Really happy I finally tried Mio!

My favorite place to grab a fresh bite. I love the rolls and service is friendly. A great place to meet friends for happy hour or take your family to for everyone to enjoy something different. The menu has a wonderful variety of selections and the restaurant is kid-friendly.

  • Kazuya M.

I ordered the sushi sashimi combo. The sushi was very good but the sashimi was cut way too thick. It was 3 or more times thicker than anywhere else that i have had sashimi. It made it too fishy and not delicate as sashimi should be.

AMAZING!! We looked at several other sushi restaurants in town. Chose Mio Sushi. Wonderful outside seating, EXTREMELY HELPFUL waitress, exceptional quality and pricing. We will return , for sure . AAA+++ Far better than anywhere we've been in the valley.

  • Jerry G.

We had the worse Sushi we have ever had here. The rice was old, the wraps were soft, the the fish was old, and poorly defrosted. I don't know what was worse the Sushi and/or what we paid for it. The location was the only strong point of this meal. We will never visit this sight again. The one start was only given because you have to give some type of rating.

Visited at 1pm today expecting the lunch rush to have slowed. The restaurant was half full but the service was painfully slow. Took forever to order, the order was wrong when it finally came and the staff never checked on us. The food is average at best. Great place if you have a lot of time to kill and want average sushi.

    (1)
  • Sean D.

The sushi itself is decent, at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, there was an attention to detail issue with out dinner. We ordered Spider rolls and got Sisters rolls instead. They completely forgot my daughter's dinner, so she had to pick off everyone else's meal until they brought a bento box for her.

Poor quality sushi - ingredients and presentation. Not good!

  • Walerz B.

Just like a review before me: it's a chain restaurant, so expect the average chain restaurant sushi. It's not the best but definitely not the worst. Quick, friendly and attentive service in a modern building with high ceilings and bright colors. Extensive menu and we all enjoyed what we ate. My eel roll came out kinda cold and my salmon teriyaki was cooked all the way when I asked for medium but it wasn't awful. I really enjoyed the baked salmon roll (pictured in the menu on the bottom right hand corner). I didn't think the price was too bad and all in all I left full and quite satisfied.

This place is your average industrial sushi joint. Good quality and fresh materials, not overly expensive, and without any depth or pizazz. Dependable. If you want an awesome sushi experience and are willing to pay for it then go to 5 Fusion downtown. If you want a quick sushi meal and not pay a lot for it and do not want to risk getting sick on it then this place is just fine.

Worst ever!!!!!Our crab was burnt the first time we went to this place...Tried it 2 more times with friends all times tasteless food, and dirty restaurant. I will not return.

First of all, sushi here is not top-notch quality sushi. But at the same time, you have to acknowledge the prices they're charging for the sushi. I would have to say 5 Spice sushi is definitely better, but Mio Sushi is a lot cheaper. Don't get me wrong, the sushi isn't bad, it's actually decent. They can improve on their presentation of the sushi though. As for the food: Calamari: small quantity, not much flavor, but the sauce that comes with the calamari is decent. Still, I like calamari with flavor.. Edemame: you can't go wrong with edmame! It was good. Mt. Hood Roll: It was good. It's baked salmon on top of crab meat & cucumber, I think. But I've had better. Rainbow Roll: Meh. It was okay. Some type of roll with eel in it: Again, it was okay. Overall, it was all just okay. If I didn't worry about money, then I would go to 5 Spice all the time.

Very quickly seated and brought our drinks right away. We ordered our sushi which was out very quickly despite the place being busy. The customer service was AWESOME. Very nice and upbeat, and I LOVED the atmosphere. The sushi was okay. It wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. Priced very reasonably. Will return if I'm having a craving and need an inexpensive fix.

My husband and I before moving from Bend ate often here, before they moved to Old Mill. Tonight took friends for their first time experiencing sushi and had worst service ever! Sushi good but will never go back, in fact will go to sushi restaurant in Mio old location!

Good sushi at a reasonable price. We have never been disappointed and have eaten here many times. This is the best sushi in Bend for the price. Service is good and and everything you could want is on the menu.

Since we used to love the Mio Sushi in the Cascade Village, this looked like a good place for a quick Saturday lunch. Wrong, on so many levels. We waited 10 minutes for anyone to come by the table (ordered some tea), and another 10 for it to arrive. We both ordered a two item bento box, which took 45 minutes to arrive, and we informed that they were out of white rice, was brown ok? A sushi restaurant that runs out of rice in the middle of a day? Everything in the bento box was either cold, over cooked, or in the case of the salad, drowning in dressing. The miso soup was fair, although nothing great, which is the only reason this place got even one star. The couple next to us waited almost an hour, and her salad was so dry and flavorless, she had to ask for a couple spoonfuls of her companion's soup to liven it up. Overpriced, absolutely awful service, and food to match. Never again.

My fiance and I went here tonight for the first time and it was great! Saturday night early-ish dinner around 5:30pm -at this time of year. Great sushi -premium rolls, having the coco -sort desert-y roll at the end. Great service, not the "coziest" (the lighting could be better!), but it's fine; sat at the bar -would have been nice to have a more out-goingly friendlier sushi bar staff/chefs, but overall great sushi at normal sushi restaurant prices, great quality, and really superd tastes!!

Stopped by today to have a sushi lunch hoping it would be better than Shinsei in town and it was wonderful. We are big sushi buffs and always on the hunt for good places. Every roll we had from the caviar/salmon, to the Mt. Fuji was awesome. I had the mango tea which was a brewed iced tea with fresh diced mango pieces, they give you a big straw so as you drink it, you get fruit from the bottom that fits through the straw, genius! Our service was outstanding, prompt and we left her a 20% tip. The sushi was very fresh, not stale tasting, or lackluster and we had 6 different kinds of rolls so it was a good comparison. We are definately going to be regulars, they have patio seating as well as indoors & it's spacious, not crowded. Tipped the sushi chefs also, the sushi was just so good. Thanks!

Well just a giant failure. Our fourth visit and our last. Zero customer service and the b-otch just ignored us when we entered. After about five minutes we left never seated in an almost empty restaurant. People that where there could not pay their bill and it was just bad. This place has a terrible problem. I gave one star for location and build out. Food on our other visits has shown as standard nothing special but always service sucks. Lots of options in Bend so I would avoid this stress.

Last night we sat outside and had our first experience at Mio Sushi. The unanimous decision amongst the three of us was that we would not return for some time. a. The menu is too large and cumbersome. We were given three separate menus to read and it should be consolidated to one. b. Our server Tasha was slow. Water arrived on time but then we had to ask for napkins and eating utensils after the food arrived. I was thirsty and emptied my water glass very quickly. It was never refilled. c. The food was ok but surely did not stand out. Overall it was a very basic experience and we will search out other sushi establishments before returning. Cheers

First visit today had our expectations exceeded, but then again our expectations were low. As sushi places go, you can do better in Bend (Tomo) and you can do worse (Yoko's) and you can find a par with this (5 Fusion aka 5 Spice Fusion). But we guess the "niche" for Mio Sushi is that this is a sushi chain. So just like McDonald's there are no surprises. Every Mio Sushi serves the same things made the same way. Bottom line; if Iwe were traveling and really hungry, we'd stay hungry rather than eat at McDonald's. But if the choice was between staying hungry and eating at Mio Sushi, we'd happily eat there. But this is not a sushi destination restaurant. Still the people were friendly, the restaurant was clean and bright, seating was comfortable, the prices were reasonable and the menu was approachable. We have to admit that the menu caught us off guard at first - the two different "sushi pizza" offerings on the Chef's Special lunch menu made us say "oh oh". But it really was better than that kind of thing might suggest for food focus. We had three things with which we're really familiar in Japanese restaurants for fair comparison - avocado roll, baked mussels, and shrimp and veggie tempura. The first was pretty good (and came with lots of good gari, so thumbs up). I liked that the rolls were a little smaller sized and were easier to eat with one bite. My husband liked the mussels and they are normally among my favs, but these tasted "fishy" to me. The tempura was good for the shrimp, but the veggies (acorn squash and onion) were cut too thick and they were greasy. But the hot things were served nice and hot and the cold roll was served cold so they also get points for correct temperatures at service. Good prices too - for those three things and green tea for both of us the total bill was around $12. Bento box offerings seemed to be a big hit at tables all around us and so did the udon. So those may be on our "to try" list if we find ourselves eating at Mio Sushi somehwere in the future. But for us this would be an "of necessity" choice for a meal and not a destination. Still all around, AOK.

Like many people said, this is a chain sushi place, so you should expect average chain sushi, which is exactly what you get. I enjoyed it, but I will let you know that I am not a sushi connoisseur. In fact I enjoy pre-packaged sushi from the store! I know I know! But i have never claimed to be classy. They do have a large varitey and cool menus that you write on with erase pens so they can reuse them. Bonus points for being green! I would eat there again, but it is not life changing food.

I've eaten at Mio about five times now, and have finally decided that it's a 3-star sushi place. I've had great items, and sometimes just ok items. The Good: Baked Dynamite appetizer (share this, it's large) Yellowtail hamachi nigiri (ask for ponzu) Miso soup Caterpillar Roll Seafood sunomono salad is really, really, really good Our most recent server, I think her name was Paris, was really friendly and helpful. Yet, even her smile couldn't make up for the rice. Sushi rice is supposed to be slightly sticky, not mushy, and have a slight zest from rice wine vinegar. The rice on this particular day was just plain old white rice. Meh. I'll continue to go to Mio for lunch every so often. It's worth it.

We were cruising through the Old Mill District looking around before Bend BeerFest and we ran into Mio. There is only so long either of us can go before we need to have a little raw fish so we decided to give it a try. The pricing is reasonable. It isn't much different from any place in the city. That's good. The happy hour menu features 4.50 LARGE Asahi or Kirin (a couple of others, also). Thats out of this world! The happy hour menu has alot to choose from. I wouldn't say that it is the greatest sushi you might find, but it is reasonable for location. Our server seemed brand new, didn't know much about the menu....that being said, he was a great server. Very Personable.

I came here for a quick lunch before going Ina bike tour in the afternoon. We ordered the vegetable gyoza, tuna roll, and a rainbow roll. The food overall is okay. It's a good place for a quick bite while shopping but I would not recommend this place if you're looking for a place with great quality and service. It's an acceptable place to go with family or friends but I don't recommend this place for a date.

What a wonderful surprise. I came to Bend from a city that has nothing but great options for sushi, and after trying a few Sushi joints around here, I didn't expect much. But, I ended up walking out of that place pretty satisfied. I had the sashimi dinner combo (see photo). For around $15, it came with good miso soup. The fish selection was excellent, and the fish was straight-out-of-the-ocean fresh. I also tried their tempura and salad with a unique, homemade, citrus flavored dressing. Also very good. Service was great. I was greeted immediately as I walked into the door. My server was extra attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. Clean environment, excellent Japanese food, good service. I highly recommend this place to satisfy your sushi cravings if in Bend.

We went on a Sunday afternoon during a holiday weekend, but there was not much of a crowd. We were seated quickly, and waited on immediately. For being a chain restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The sushi tasted fresh, and the menu had a wide variety of selections. I give four stars for food quality, affordable prices, and selection. The only disappointment was our waiter, who was prompt, but not terribly friendly.

Great sushi for a great price. Yellowtail is amazing as well as the Sonny specials. Yes, it is a chain but great bang for your buck. We had the best server tonight, he was all smiles and checked on us frequently.

Went for lunch it was a busy Friday Lunch time. Service was good. Food was good. Overall a good experience. There were lots of cute guys there!! Always a reason to go somewhere!! The lunch specials were quite good and reasonable in price. My lunch friend had their sushi pizza- I wasn't sure what to expect- it certainly was unique. Difficult to eat but tasty.

Good sushi, however, atmosphere ruins the experience. Service is painfully slow and inattentive. Environment is uninviting and tends to run cold due to the drafts from the doors. Would only go back here for take out.

I wish I could rate the sushi at mio, unfortunately we never got that far. My husband and I were seated 45 minutes before closing and told there would be a bit of a wait because they were a little behind. We told them this was fine as we were on vacation and weren't super hungry yet and wouldn't mind just hanging out and having some drinks. So we were seated, sipping water and looking at menus when ten minutes later a waitress comes over and tells us that she's sorry but they're done accepting orders for the night because they are an hour and a half behind on other peoples orders. So basically we were kicked out of the restaurant, which was pretty embarrassing with everyone watching, not to mention frustrating because we'd already looked at a menu, decided what we wanted, etc. Oh, and it was a Wednesday night, not a weekend. There were empty tables in the place as well, so it wasn't a matter of them getting hit by a ton of people, it was them not knowing how to staff their restaurant. A very disagreeable experience, but we were probably saved the disappointment of mediocre sushi from a 3 star sushi place. I'm sure this doesn't happen very often, but we certainly won't be back next time we're in Bend.

Meh. Decent food, fast, good location and down to earth prices. I ordered the Beef Yakiniku bento platter. It came with a california roll and "Tofu", I asked the waitress if I could substitute the "Tofu" for anything else as I am loathe of eating tofu. She said sure and offered Veggie Gyozas. I shoulda stayed with the Tofu, at least I wouldn't have put it in my mouth. The veggie gyoza tasted of .... badness. I dunno what is inside it, but I don't ever want to taste that strange mushy tang flavor again. The beef yakiniku was ok, just beef with some veggies and sesame seeds, *shrug*. The california rolls on my platter reminded me of storebought variety. You'd think they were made fresh by the 5 guys behind the sushi counter, but they were wet and mushy on the bottom as if they'd sat for awhile. Maybe they make 27,000 california rolls early in the day and put them in the fridge. *shrug* Service was great, I counted (seriously) 9 wait staff. This was a friday night and most tables were occupied, but this is a SMALL place. I'd guess it has 30 tables. So I had 3 or 4 servers checking on me. Oh, last memory was the Miso soup. Bland, from a packet type of flavor. I put wasabi in it, ginger and soy but still it was average at best.

Que horror!!!!! Absolutely the worst sushi this world-traveling sushi aficionado has ever had. And I am talking about the fish, people...not the cooked stuff. Really REALLY REALLY bad!!

First let's say this the Sushi is Awesome but the service is terrible. One of the worst service I have found in Bend, OR. I first went to Mio and they were super slow and lacked attention to any of my needs. I returned a second time to give them a chance. Heck NO! It was worse. Took over an hour to get our food and they never returned once to refill my drink or see if needed anything else. If you do Mio do take out that's it. Service is is just terrible.

Ok so here's the deal. I came into this restaurant and glanced around the dining hall. Nice paint job. I loved the faux-leather booths. BUT THEN!! I sat down. Mistake #1. They brought me a menu and what do I see? FISH! FISH FISH FISH!!!!!! THEN THEY BROUGHT IT TO ME AND IT WAS RAW I COULD'VE DIED DON'T THEY KNOW THAT!? WHAT ABOUT MY RAW FISH ALLERGY? Huh, HUH???? I mean seriously, shouldn't they know my medical history? I think they should. I even brought my medical records to the table. Then they told me to 'knock it off' when I attempted to perform a dissection of a pot sticker! I only had three scalpels out and they were already yelling! I was yet to even unearth my anesthetic mask from my medical satchel. Overall I would NOT recommend it for dissections or the raw fish. If, however, you are wanting nice, cold, fresh water... GEORGIA RECOMMENDS!

Best Sushi in Bend!! The prices are reasonable, even if you create your own roll. The sushi tastes fresh and looks beautiful. Incredibly fast service and clean atmosphere. All around great experience. My favorite part of the whole experience was our server, Moon, she was such a treat.

Nice decor. Nice staff, though they're clearly overwhelmed. Super slow, and bad execution on most things. Shrimp shu mai was deep fried?? And fried to a crisp I might add. Most of the fish tasted unfresh ... is that an Ocean Beauty frozen seafood truck at the back door? Seems like Mio is suffering from the chain restaurant blues. Too big to succeed.

Went to the Mio Sushi in Old Mill District. Waited one hour after placing my order and then asked for some edamame. Waited another 15 minutes and left.

I honestly did not think their sushi was that great. First off, they serve imitation crab in their California Rolls. Sushi is not supposed to be made with "imitation" anything. Second, we had a conflict over when happy hour was supposed to be. I think they need to be more straight forward with their hapy hour advertising. Plus, it's a chain. You can do better. There is much better sushi in Bend. Don't bother.

We decided to try Mio since they moved out of the cascade village shopping center and down to the Old Mill...Needless to say, we were not impressed. The server messed up our drinks, spilled several sauces on our table, was confused about which sushi we ordered, kept consistently bugging people for refills when they had already declined several times, and the flavor of the sushi just wasn't what we were used to or expected... There is TONS of places to eat in the Old Mill district, I would choose any of them before going back to Mio. If you are looking for good Sushi, I'd head somewhere else.

Sushi was actually good, but they were closing about an hour early so the bill was delivered before the food...odd, but they wanted to go home I guess. My fiance and I both enjoyed what we did get though.

Mio Sushi's Bend location just opened recently - a couple months ago, I believe, and today I decided to give them a try. The funny thing is that I just found out that Mio's has several locations in northwest Oregon, where I'm originally from. I tried a few different types of their sushi - salmon, tuna, and California roll. Their sushi tastes fresh and has a good flavor. Their prices aren't the best I've seen, but not too expensive either. This restaurant has a sushi bar as well as tables that you can sit at. At the sushi bar, there is no pre-made sushi - you have to mark what you want on a card and hand it to the chef over the counter, who prepares it for you. They also have a menu of items you can order from. The staff is friendly. I asked my cook how business was doing, and he said it was pretty slow. So, come on people, visit this place and help keep them in business! I'd recommend it.

The Bento Box is great,... If you don't mind a long wait with a rude server. I've been a few time and always had a long wait. If you see a blonde waitress, leave. She has a rude condescending tone and worse, she doesn't know what she's talking about. I sent a note to the office but they didn't seem to care. I'd skip this and head for one of the higher rated restaurants like 5 fusion, Kanpai or Shinshei. Or take your chances and add your one star review as well.

I have dined with the family at Mio Sushi several times. We have always enjoyed it very much. Their fish is shipped in fresh every day. One day, I was in there for lunch and the Vice-President of the company had just come over from Portland with the fish delivery himself. He sat down next to me and introduced himself and asked my opinion. He seemed very excited for the new location and was pleased to hear my praises. The staff is very friendly, the quality of the sushi is excellent for Central Oregon and prices are very reasonable. It is also neatly decorated and very clean. The service can be a bit slow when they get busy, so try not to hit them at peak rush hour. They have a nice website at miosushi.com so you can research their menu in advance. I hope this place survives the current economy because it is definately a keeper. Salute.

First let me say that I LOVE sushi and use to eat there every week with my sister when they were at the Cascade Village. I was so happy when they moved to the Old Mill because it is closer to my home. On the first visit to the new location, in the first week, we visited and to say the service was bad is an understatement. (the food was good as always) But being the first week we cut them some slack and decided we would be back in a few weeks when they got the kinks worked out. Went back a few weeks later and the food as great as always but the service is horrible yet again. Appetizers came out after the first entree was delivered, had to ask repeatedly for a spoon for my miso soup, one entree came out 45 minutes after the other food was delivered even after we asked again and again about it, etc.... I even said something to the person behind the cash register and got no response. So I told my husband we would give it one more try and if it was the same, we would not return. We went back last night for the "3rd times a charm". NOPE. We sat down outside and waited for nearly 20 minutes for someone to take our order. (it was not a busy evening) Again...the two appetizers came out AFTER the two of the four entrees were delivered. When we commented on this, the waiter gave some bs story about the hot kitchen and sushi kitchen being separate. It was never an issue at the old location, the owners/manager obviously know better. When we were still waiting for our last two entree's to be served, after a full half hour later than the last food, we mentioned it again to the waiter and he said he would check on the status. He returned 10 minutes later with the 3rd entree and we waited another 5 minutes for the fourth and last entree. (mind you the 3rd and 4th were the exact same items). The food/sushi is great and I really am going to miss it. But if they can't get the service issue resolved, then it is not worth it. We were not the only tables who were having service issues. The table on both sides of us were having the same issues. And when something was said to the waiter again at the end of our meal....we got no response except for him to say...we will be bringing out checks. So long Mio Sushi. I'm going to miss you.

Wish I could give Mio Sushi in the mill zero stars. Absolutely ridiculous experience. A table of seven of us came in for sushi one night. The service was extremely lousy. Between seven different dishes, each was delivered with a margin of 10 minutes between each. From the time the first customer was done eating, the fifth roll was just being dropped. After complaining to the manager about the experience, he felt sorry and granted us three free sushi rolls our next visit. I came back to visit and was astonished by the rudeness of the same manager and the decency to not even grant my wish for one Philadelphia roll and one Banzai roll but instead, to have a waiter drop two California rolls without telling me what type of sushi it was nor placing any trays for soy sauce or chopsticks down. I asked to speak with the manager again and he literally laughed and showed no kindness or respect towards me, the customer. I pulled out his menu and showed him his mission statement (in case he forgot) and made it clear how astonishing the service was. I do not recommend you go to Mio Sushi. instead, go local to Kanpai Sushi off of Newport with EXCELLENT sushi and FABULOUS service. Mio, I will be contacting your upper management very very soon.

This was a good sushi restaurant at reasonable prices. There was something lacking in the atmosphere, like it couldn't decide whether to be a quick-stop lunch place or a sit-down restaurant. The calamari was no good but the edmame was cooked well and was an enjoyment. The rolls we ordered were tasty but poorly constructed. They kept falling apart and some bites were too big. I might come back here if I'm hungry and in the area, but I'd rather not if I had a choice.

Good, fresh inexpensive (for Bend) sushi. I really like this place, and unfortunately have discovered their "Crunchy sushi" where they deep fry the whole roll and then slice it up... yum.

The sushi is pretty good, atmosphere is relaxed and clean. Busy enough on a Friday night to have some fun energy, but didn't have to wait to be seated. Good value, especially for Bend. I'd give it 3 stars on the food but boosted it to 4 because of better prices than other places.
