In terms of pizza in Bend, Local Slice is the best I've had. Yes. Best Pizza in Bend, OR. I said it. Add an order of bread sticks and you've got pizza paradise. The sauce is nice and sweet and the crust has always been cooked well. It's just made well, with care. This isn't your cheap, cardboard pizza. This is gourmet. If you like to taste your pizza, try Local Slice!

Ordered a Hawaiian tonight for delivery. Had my pizza here in the promised time. Great customer service. Awesome ingredients. Fresh taste. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Only place I could find to deliver to my abode in South Bend. These folks are slinging some killer 'zas! I only give 4 stars because the sausage was fairly scant given that I ordered double sausage, and paid for it. That being said, it was absolutely delicious. I also added mushrooms (baby portos?) and onions (carmelized?) I ate off that pizza for three days via toaster oven and every slice was as delicious as the last. I will be a return customer, and I WILL tell my friends.

WOW! We tried this place for the fist time a little while ago. We ordered one of the daily special pizzas, one with goat cheese/goat meet/spinach/grilled onions. It was the best pizza we've EVER had. We also got the house salad which was soooo delicious as well. I'm excited to be going back to this place for my pizza fix!

Great pizza, maybe the best in Bend? I'd give it 5 stars if the crust had been cooked a bit more. The Woodsman hits the spot w/ arugula, onion, garlic...mmm, beautiful. The ambiance is casual & comfortable, service is attentive: The HUGE 4-CL on the door is a bit tacky: seems a bit spendy too!

I signed up for Yelp just to write this review. I don't normally complain and it's rare that I don't like pizza. I live within 2 blocks of local slice and have tried them multiple times (at least 5 times) since they opened. I worked at a pizza restaurant for over 2 years preparing high quality pizza where we prepared everything fresh in house. We made Sicilian style pizzas to the tune of 200-250 pies a night. Every time besides once I have found their employees to be down right rude. They act as though they have 15 pizzas in their make line at all times. They do not have a good system to be efficient with a fun atmosphere. Their sauce is majorly lacking flavor and their cheese is not of a good quality. The amount of toppings is severely skimpy. I do find their dough/crust to be good. They do not understand that a $30 pizza should be perfection, piled high with fresh toppings, and also they need to be catering to the customers needs while ensuring the orders are correct. I have read every review on yelp and this business partner Mike always makes the customer feel like it is their fault for the pizza being horrible. The owners of Local slice need to recognize when they have made a mistake and offer the pizza for free, not wait until the customer has to ask. As another reviewer has said previously I can't wait for the day that Local Slice is closed and replaced by any other pizza place or a change of ownership to someone that truly knows the Local Bend customer service feel. You do not deserve the name "Local" slice. Also Mike I do not wish to be contacted by you with your fake replies and 100% satisfaction guaranteed routine. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE!

Vegan Pizza is not an oxymoron. Good vegan pizza is right here in Bend. Delish :) The crust and sauce were amazing. The vegis were plentiful and fresh. I'm not a fan of Daiya but it worked on this pizza. Had 2 slices for dinner and another the next morning for breakfast. The pizza must have weighed 5 pounds and it was only a medium! And only $23. What a deal. This place is awesome.

I wish I could upload the photo of the nasty pizza delivered by the ride Pete himself. His staff made a mistake with our original order for take out after asking to double check it because of a food allergy. In the pat, our local pizza guy frequently under-cooks his pizza in a hurry but this was disgusting. Not even a handful of cheese on the pizza. Pete is a spiteful business owner.

The Woodsman!! and Breakfast for Dinner!! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the delivery time can be bit long, but that is probably because everyone likes their pizza. SO 4.5 stars.

Fabulous flavors and crust that no other compares to; almost flaky like a croissant. Asked the manager what the secret was and her answer... "Pure love." Try it. Nanny goat and ranch hand.... Mmmmm...

Kinda bummed about the pie we ordered. Toppings were too finely chopped to give any taste, and kinda skimpy on the cheese. Crust was ok and the tomato sauce was good. For $30 it ought to be much better.

I really wanted to like this place, they have so much going for them, local/creative ingredients, hand tossed dough, and a good deck oven. I was disappointed in my pizza but my girlfriend loved hers, I had the The Big Cheese and added pepperoni, she had The Woodsmen. I thought mine had too much sauce, the sauce was good but with a pizza like that you don't need that much. The cheese was good and enough, the basil looked like it was cut by a chainsaw and was just way to much of it. Half the amount of (local) basil Chiffonade cut would have been perfect. The roasted garlic was burnt giving it an awful taste, roasted garlic should be spread and more balanced on the pizza (In my opinion). Ive been making pizza for years (in a restaurant I ran and at home) so I know they CAN make good pizza here. I thought their crust was pretty good but could have used some more depth in flavor, it was cooked very well but I expected it to be thinner. I think the owner was training new staff which could have been the issue for my pizza. We are going to give them another shot and I will update my review. I welcome yelp users who love this place to recommend a pie that I should try that they love.

I had been looking forward to trying local slice for months. I had heard wonderful things about it. I am gluten free and have heard nothing but rave reviews. Unfortunately neither my husband nor myself will order from local slice again. First the guy on the phone was not very friendly, second, while the large pizza was large, we got mainly arugula and hardly any chorizo or pepperoni..for $31 I've had MUCH better GF pizza and cheaper at other places in Bend.

I live in Portland and come to Bend to see family. I have been to Local Slice two times and the food is amazing! The veggies are fresh and I love how it is local and some stuff is from the chef's own garden. even the beer and wine is local and good. The service is always friendly. Even other customers are happy contributing to a fabulous experience. The Garden Goddess is my favorite.

Didn't want to drive far so thought we'd check out the new neighborhood pizzeria - bad idea. To begin with, the personnel was not familiar with their own menu which was the first red flag. As we sat waiting for our pizza, the table next to us ended up going in to find their pizza that was sitting on the counter getting cold. Next, they were told that the restaurant ran out of red wine - there is a grocery store 25 yds across the parking lot!! When our pizza came, the disappointing crust was doughy and not fully baked and the toppings were skimpy at best - even the sauce! Also, the soda was sold by the can, but the server poured it into a glass without using the whole can and didn't give us the remainder. Service was lousy to say the least. The only reason we give it 1 star is because the salad was decent. Will not return and definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Was so excited when I heard we were getting a pizza place in our neighborhood shopping center. Have tried it twice now and probably won't be back. The first time we stopped in for slices and salads. As it was our first time, we had questions about topping and salad options. The girl working the counter wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. The pizza was just meh. The beets in the beet salad were still hard and the goat cheese was downright gross. Last night I called in an order for my husband to pick up on the way home. The girl repeated it back to me on the phone correctly, but when my husband got home with the pizza, there were no tomatoes on it and the salad I had ordered was nowhere to be found. The girl on the phone even asked me what kind of dressing I wanted, so I know she heard "salad." Fortunately, it wasn't on the receipt so at least we didn't pay for it. It was $37 for a pizza and two beers. Feels extreme to me. Again, the pizza was just meh. I'm bummed that this place is what it is. I think they're probably a little too fancy dancy for the neighborhood. Speaking for my husband and I, we'd rather have a place to kick back with a beer (maybe even something as shockingly bad as a Coors Lite or a Bud Lite, which you can't get at Local Slice) and watch some sports on TV while we enjoy a plain old pepperoni pizza with no frills.

Really great pizza and fresh ingredients the only issue we have had (in total we have eaten here or got delivery about 5 times) is that the crust can be hit or miss. I'm talking soft crust, crispy or chared black ( we had that one time) the crust is just not consistent but the ingredients are so it's a toss up. Oh salads are wonderful and they have a great home made blue cheese dressing too!

Sadly third time is not a charm. A bit of back history. First time we ordered, we asked for Da Big Kahuna and a pizza with Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives and onions. First off I was made to feel like an idiot when I ordered. We had just moved here from out of start and ordering if different from state to state. We got two pizzas with 2 different crust. Way too much sauce, not enough cheese, and very little toppings with too much garlic oil on one of the pizzas non on the other. Next time my husband walked in to order. This time we went straight off the menu. "Fennel sausage, onion, salami and mushrooms. We asked for less sauce and extra cheese. What we got was a pizza that had normal amount of sauce, normal amount of cheese, salami, over cooked onion, mushrooms, and artichokes. I contacted the manager and we got his standard, "new staff, talked to the staff, free pizza next time"." She took the order wrong but we got the right pizza". How does," we got your order wrong but you got the right pizza" equal out??? So I picked apart the pizza and what I found was...roasted fennel, little artichokes, salami and mushrooms. Hate artichokes, never ordered fennel, where's the sausage? Not the pizza we ordered. Tonight we said one more time...we ordered Italian sausage (didn't say fennel this time) red onion, mushrooms and black olives, light on the sauce, and extra cheese. I ask the young woman to repeat what I ordered and she was a bit miffed and repeated everything including my address etc. A bit snarky but OK. At least I know she got it this time. What we got...regular sauce, regular cheese. Sausage (not the greatest) some mushrooms and some olives. The onions were over cooked to the point of mushy. I thought because on the menu, red onions( it didn't specify cooked) they would be fresh....my bad. I want local slice to be good. But just cause they are local doesn't always mean they're good. Sauce is subjective, the amount of cheese I believe standard. I don't want a free pizza and I didn't ask for my "free pizza" this time. I used my name and they didn't offer. I'm OK with that cause what I wanted was one last true pizza from them and unfortunately I can't root for them or cheer. Not a pizza I can recommend. Again sauce is not that great, crust inconsistent and loaded with too much of some kind of oil, toppings minimal and not the best quality. I give them 2 stars because they are better than chains and I guess I support their effort to support local. But it won't be my local slice. I TRIED!

A neighborhood artisan pizzeria using local farmers and suppliers? This is why I love living in Oregon especially Bend. Great community and great food! I love the Local Slice! Not only do they make great pizza but they make a killer salad as well. I hope those who gave Local Slice a bad rating return and try again because the owner and the staff do take pride in making sure their food is quality and that everyone is happy.

Local Slice does a fantastic job bringing pizza to a new level. I haven't had a pizza there yet that wasn't amazing. The specials are often the most tempting options, so I think the only "regular" pies we've had are the Woodsmen (the garlic cream sauce is to die for) and Da Big Kahuna. Plus a plain old (non-dairy) cheese and pepperoni pie for the kids (still, so good). I love that Local Slice caters to those of us with dietary sensitivities. The gluten free crust is very nice - even highly approved by the non-GF folks in our crowd. My only complaint about the GF crust is that it doesn't hold up for leftovers the next morning! They also use Daiya shreds - the only milk- AND soy-free cheese substitute. (I think their next move should be to integrate some of Field Roast's awesome "sausages" for the vegetarian crowd.) You also need to be aware that they are VERY competitively priced for Bend's non-chain pizzerias. With no standard 18" pie over $25, they are right in line with Pizza Mondo, Versante, and Little Pizza Paradise, the three highest (so far!!) rated pizza places in town. And that, with very high quality, locally sourced ingredients (something the other joints can not compete with). Plus, with FREE DELIVERY to all but the northeast area of Bend, Local Slice should be your new go-to purveyor of pizza.

Great pizza.. such fresh ingredients! We have eaten here 3 times since it is in our neighborhood. Be prepared for a relatively higher priced pizza, but also keep in mind it's local and fresh. My only issues are: 1) how much do you tip when you pay at the counter and have to get up to get your own drinks and just get the pizza delivered to your table 2) adult beverages are on the high side. I think if they had a happy hour that would even bettter.

Went to Local slice last night and I was pleasently surprised, and one of the better pizzas in Bend. We ordered the woodsman, had really great flavor with mushrooms, red onions and fresh arugala on top and galic cream sauce..which was excellent!... One complaint I have with most pizza places is that the pizza always seems to need to go a bit longer to crisp it up just a bit, I am not a fan of soft pizza, and that was the case with our pizza...it needed just a bit more time...then it would have been easy to give Local Slice 5 stars...oh and a larger selection of sodas would be a nice addition to....the soda selection was kinda limited and 12 ounce cans dont really cut it with pizza. There was a pretty good selection of beer on the menu for those that like that. We will definitely go back and try some of the other house specialties....the breakfast for dinner pizza is next

Yikes!! We did not enjoy our pizza!! We hade a really bad Hawaiian pizza, crust was hard on the edges and wet in center. Worst pizza we had in Bend.

As a new SW resident, I was happy to see a local pizza place nearby. We recently drove home from the coast. While passing through Sisters, we called ahead and ordered a small pizza and a salad. The quoted 30 minutes for pick-up. No problem from Sisters. We arrived 33 minutes later and, to my surprise, there was still 3 pizzas to be made in front of us. We waited, and waited and waited. After 1 hour and 8 minutes, they called our name for the pizza. I took the pizza and reminded them about the salad. She ran to the back of the store to make the pizza. Apparently, she never made a salad, because the one and only pizza maker had to stop making pizzas to make a salad. Now 1 hour and 18 minutes later, I was walking out the door with my cooling "take-out." I don't know what was hotter, me or the pizza. As for the pizza, "meh" would best describe $20 wonder. The salad had brown/gray salami and wilted lettuce. Sadly, I was really hoping for a better pizza joint. I seems that their days are numbered.
