Wasn't impressed with the beers I tried, food took forever, and when it got there the reuben sandwich I ordered had the toughest corned beef I've ever had.....it was the first meal in town, and luckily it didn't set the tone for the rest of the week. Not a bad place, just not a great place.

The Cascade Lakes Brewing Company was ok. I ordered the smothered chicken burrito. It was pretty bland and tasteless. I drowned it in hot sauce, which made it a little better... a little. To quote my friend "It was ok.... it was filling." I will give him that... it was definitely a large burrito and filled me up. Another member of our party ordered the Yakisoba noodles. He actually went there two nights in a row and said it was very good. However, he was not impressed with the flavor of his mixed drink. The staff was very friendly and talkative. I have discovered that there are plenty of great places to eat in Bend, so I most likely will not be making a return visit here.

Not impressed my fish tacos tasted like marinated in teriyaki sauce and was to come with CHIPs and salsa 5 chips is all I got . The hamburgers where just ok food warm not hot and service was so slow. They should be better staffed on a Friday lunch service. Disappointed as this is a local place I like to come to. Will not be back for a while sorry cascade lakes you need to step it up .

It is ok. I am between two and three stars because three would have been if the minimums are met, which they were. I have had better for a few bucks less. I don't know, it just didn't jump out as great or amazing. Not a bad place to stop by for a quick beer and a bite just to fill your tummy.

Really liked the special burger. It has pastrami, fresh partty and fried egg. It was very tasty however I wish the egg would have been runny and the bun was a bit soggy. They have a cherry brew which my friend had and mentioned it was good, not too sweet. The fries were kind of cold but they were pretty busy so who knows...maybe an off day.

I'm not rating for the lodging, just for the bar and restaurant. The steak medallion appetizer was the SHIT. Loved it so much. The beer sampler was also super cheap and solid. I just liked this place after a long hard day climbing at Smith Rock.

We came here twice on our trip to Bend, OR and were very pleased. We ordered a beer flight and the nachos. Oh my gosh the nachos were soooo good! And the server did a great job with taking care of us. We always had everything we needed. The beer sampler came with six different beers and they were all pretty good. My favorite beer we tried was the Hopsack. Yummy! This is a great place for a good food and beer!

We have been going here for a few years. Gotta say the last few times were awful!! Just left and were totally disgusted. 40 minutes for some over fried nasty fish tacos (their Tuesday special) had no flavor, and just gross. My wife had a burger that was served on a super stale bun. If you want great food and awesome service stay at home!

Loved coming in on the 13th. We recieved great food and had an awesome time. The nachos were fabulous, and the Mac n Cheese was DELISH. We sat downstairs, where it seemed to be very family oriented (all ages) and everyone was having a great time. I would reccommend to friends and family. Cant wait to go back and try a couple of the cold and hot cocktails!!!

The roasted beet salad was delicious with bits of tart Apple and pistachios mixed in it. Loved that the dressing was automatically on the side!

This is our family spot every Sunday. Great, stable staff that knows us. Great beers. I recommend the seasonal IPAs and Blonde Bombshell always hits the spot. Way better than standard pub fare. The salmon, cob salad, and tacos are our favorite. Pretty killer that kids eat for free on Sundays. Not a foo foo bar. Great service, food, and beer. Solid place to stop in Bend.

Loved everything! Salad was very above average we were impressed - service was attentive and helpful and we thought the ambiance was excellent!

Favorite brewery in Bend! I love the Cyclops IPA so much that I took 2 growlers of it home to Portland with me. Avocado chicken sandwich is delicious! Get on the Ale Trail and go here first! :)

Very disappointed with a rude bartender. Just got into Bend and was recommended this place by our hotel. Walked in with 5 lovely ladies here to celebrate my bachelorette, just to be turned away very rudely with a "we're closed". Well we took our $100 bar tab down to Cascade Grub and bar where we were warmly received.

The food was horrible in the resturant and will not go back. My husband ordered a Reuben at the pub and it came with some funky salsa on it? Yuck. The waitress saw he did not touch it and never comped his meal after telling her it was not a good meal. Not going back and would rather go anywhere else in Bend but there!

  • Michael M.

Hate this place. Be ready to be greeted with blank stares, then ignored for awhile before someone finally comes to take your order. The food is often preprocessed, but that does not stop Cascade Lakes from taking advantage of their thirsty patrons with the offensively high prices. Two stars for fairly good beer that is well-served.

    (2)
  • Nicole L.

4 stars for the waitstaff- our server was extremely attentive and make sure to keep everyone's water glasses filled all night 3 stars for the atmosphere- we came here for bingo last night. It was fun and seemed like a good mix of families, regulars, and tourists. 2 stars for the food- order a grilled chicken salad with goat cheese, poached pears, mixed greens, carrots, and cucs. The chicken was a little funky and I don't think even white meat. I understand this place is more of a pub, but atleast have a good salad like Bend Brewing Co or 10 Barrel. I concur with the rest of reviews in regards to the food.

Took my 93 yr old M-I-L and my sister in law there for lunch and we had Great Food, attentive service, and they even brought a water bowl for our dog!! Would definitely recommend. The only negative to sitting outside is the traffic noise, but still very pleasant experience overall.

My friend and I went to Bend to do the Bend Ale Trail. There were a few breweries that we decided we would just go in and get our passport stamps since we have easy access to them in Portland. This was not one of those. We got a table out on there patio and ordered a taster tray of 6. After waiting a bit for our beers, we relieved we have heard of this brewery by the Bombshell Blonde Ale they have with a picture of a blonde Jessica Rabbit on their 6 bottle carrier. The waitress was not very knowledgeable. I simply asked her what size the tasting glasses were and she said maybe 3 or 4, I'm not quite sure. They looked big to me and I would have to say 4 or 5 depending on the amount of foam. When we got our beers, we were so disappointed. Disappointed might be a nice way of putting it. These beers were horrifying! We both like beer and we also both really hate to leave unfinished beer, but in this case, we had to. It was too hard to stomach. I can't even say I kind of liked one. If we had known, we wouldn't have wasted our time or money at this brewery, but I guess that's why we were out trying beers. There has to be some out there that we don't like and this was definitely one of them.

Easily the worst brewery in Bend. We live nearby, so it's an easy walk, which is why we've given it a few tries. Don't make our mistake. Walk the other direction toward better options. Number 1, the beer is terrible if you are used to drinking anything else decent in the PNW. Maybe if you've only ever had some shitty PBR or Bud, you'll like this crap too. So bad, you can't even force yourself to finish it, bad. Number 2, the food is worse than the beer. We've tried a variety of items, always a starter or two and entrees. Everything tastes like horrible frozen Sysco crap. I'm not sure they've ever heard of fresh ingredients. Chips are like bland, tasteless cardboard, Nachos are covered with shitty cheese from a can. Steak medallions were over cooked, tough as leather. Even the pathetic burger had no flavor other than burnt! Medium Rare or nothing please! Number 3, the waitress we had the last time was clearly geeked out on drugs. Skinny as a rail and mouth running a mile a minute with gum hanging out. Disgusting. We've sat at the bar before too, and the bar tender had nothing to contribute. Even so much as to say "Our beers not, that bad. But if you want, we can pour you a Coors." Seriously? A Coors at a local, supposedly, craft brewery!? That's how pathetic this place is, and the staff could care less. AVOID Cascade Lakes Lodge! Goodlife Brewing isn't far down the other direction, and is quite decent, despite having limited food options. A bit further and the new Oblivion Brewing is quickly becoming a standout. Good beer, and AMAZING food! The interior design is awesome too. Ignore 10Barrel, which used to be our favorite. The food and the beer went way down hill even before being sold out to Anheuser Busch / InBev. It's especially horrible now. So between all that are some great all around pubs with a variety of great food and drink options that are all a THOUSAND times better than Cascade Lakes Lodge. See Cabin 22, Pacific Pizza & Brew, and Brother Jons.

Sub-par American food, unsatisfying beer, but great waiter! I'm pretty sure Bend was like, "hmmm...this is a weird area, lets quickly put up a brewpub here."

We came here for dinner. It was a nice, easy walk from the resort we were staying at. We were a party of four. Originally, the hostess had seated us at a tipsy table in the middle of the dining room, even though there was a perfect booth tucked in the back corner. We asked nicely if we could be moved to the booth instead. The hostess said we could switch tables, but not without giving us a little attitude. The rest of our meal was great. There was a hummus plate that was a great vegan-friendly option for the vegan in our party. Someone else had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Tasty! I had the chicken almond salad which was one of the specials that night. It was so good and huge! One of the best salads I've had in a long time. I was super happy with my dinner choice. We left with a growler and dessert.

We didn't have anything to eat, but just stopped at Cascade Lakes on the way back from Mt Bachelor for a beer and to watch a college basketball game after skiing. Good beer, good service, and there was a guy playing the guitar, nice atmosphere. Small in the bar area but cozy. I'd definitely go back and try the food.

  • Ben B.

We stopped in and all had salads. The southwest chicken Cobb was very good. The beer was ok. Not the best beer in town, but it was decent. The service was good, everyone was friendly and it wasn't too busy.

"Tots were cold and the beer was lame." Decided to check out the Brewery Restaurant because it was right next to our hotel. As a fan of infamous Bend Micro Brews....the beer was terrible. The food was also so-so. Service was really good though.

  • Michael M.

Food is better than most other brew pubs. Beer is good but not outstanding. I wish they would have imperials or some barrel aged. Taco Tuesday is a great deal and their fish taco are great (better than some other places in town that claim to specialize in fish tacos). Their taster flight comes in bigger glasses than the shot type I have seen lately.

  • Breanne W.

The beer selection is pretty good & the rest of the drink menu was creative. Food choices are alright, better during the summer. However, the fries were everyone's favorite at the table. Desserts were a decent price which was nice.

This place is great! The staff here is always very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious! Cascade Lakes definitely gets hidden behind all the other breweries here, but I still can't understand why.

I just hope it was a bad day. I've stopped here many times over the years and the service has always been spotty, but over the fourth holiday it just plain sucked. We were seated just fine and waters and drinks were severed quickly enough. The waitress didn't set any speed records coming back to get our orders but just average slow. We ordered about the same time as the people next to us received there order and then nothing for 30 min, the table next to us (that got there food when we ordered) finished and took off so I asked the girl busing tables if she could check on our order and waitress. The girl busing tables, not the waitress, came back and said our waitress was checking on the order. 10 min later we got up and I went to pay for the beer and cancel the food order, 40 min for burgers and a salad is not acceptable. It was about 1pm and the place was not at all busy. To the waitresses credit she didn't charge for the drinks, 2 beers. As I said, I hope it was just a bad day for them.

We were disappointed in our choice of the Lodge! The atmosphere is good. We sat in the bar as it was Sunday and children eat free. The bartendar was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the beer and hard cider! The food was just average. The Ceasar salad we shared was good, but the chicken pot pie and vegetarian pasta dish was just ok. The carrot cake was the frozen variety. Too bad - as the atmosphere is good but food needs a new chef!

Visiting from out of state, this place was our favorite so far! I came with my boyfriend and we got a nice table right by the fire place. We were quickly greeted by our server, Ashley who was super nice. We order the potato skins and beers all of which were amazing. To top it off, we turn around to see a one man band. He was incredible! Totally completed our whole night. We will be back!

  • Mollie H.

Great Service and very prompt. Food was good: we had the steak salad (order medium as it came medium well) or the prime rib dip. Large portions, so come hungry or a husband who can help with your serving :) Host was very attentive throughout our dinner. Good atmosphere after a long day at Crater Lake.

FROZEN FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is alright, beer is good, but try to avoid Amy H as a waitress. She doesn't smile. Update: So we went back to give this place another try. My daughter ordered a burger and fries. The entire bottom portion of the fries were still FROZEN. Not cold, but completely frozen. We called the manager over and handed him one of the french fries so he could feel for himself. The cook forgot to cook the fries and topped them off with ones that were done. THE PLACE SERVES FROZEN FOOD! Are you kidding me? What a complete joke. I know of fast food restaurants that serve fresh food.

Nothing dramatically special but the prices are good, the service is friendly and generally good. I have eaten here a number of times and the food is fairly consistent, Worth a visit.

  • Sarah B.

2 stars because the beer is decent, the service had improved to above a snail's pace, and the food wasn't nauseating. We only eat here when social pressure of a group demands it. This time the potato skins were decent but 4 tiny half potatoes of barely 2 bites each is pathetic for $8 (compared to 6 large halves from Three Creeks for the same price). Fortunately, this was an improvement over the Caesar salad from my previous trip that tasted of nothing but anchovies. I can only assume this place stays in business because tourists stop on the way down from Bachelor. Certainly the locals rarely patronize the place. At least the beer is decent but as good or better can be found all over town.

    (2)
  • T D.

I've been here quite a few times over the past two years. Food is decent - not amazing. Beer is pretty good as well. Usually won't have to wait for an hour like some of the other breweries in Bend.

  • Lauren E.

I've been here to watch football games. This is a great great place to watch games, the service is great and the food and beer is good too. I love love love that they support BOTH oregon schools: oregon and oregon state by waving both flags in the front of the building. It makes both fans feel welcomed and supported unlike many other brewery's in town.

  • J W.

Got served undercooked chicken (gag) in an Alfredo pasta once. We sent it back and i think they just cooked the chicken some more instead of throwing it away and starting all over. Staff is okay but seem unhappy. Its' an ok place for a quick beer and fries.

  • Deanna N.

Not impressed with the beer said all of the 5 boys or so in our group and they luv beer. That being said, most of us had the prime rib special and at 13.95 it was a big hunk of meat done perfectly medium rare served with au jus, mashers and veggies. The problem was no one liked the beer and we headed over to the Bend Brewfest and that made everyone happy.

I've been visiting the Lodge on a regular basis for years. And while the food has it's ups and downs and the beer list isn't as extensive as some other places in town, there is no better atmosphere in Bend. The staff treats almost everyone like a regular and with class. I'm a firm believer that restaurants live and die by the staff, and while every place has it's good staff members and its bad ones, I have found that CLL has by and large had great staff for many years. If you're looking for a good atmosphere, good beer, and nice people, visit the Lodge.

Cascade Lakes use to be a last resort. The food was always moderate at best, but the beer was good. They have changed a bit over the years and have some much more appealing food options. We came at a slow time of day and the service was good. The beer remains tasty and the food is much better. While I prefer other places over this one, I would not hesitate to stop and have lunch again!

Cascade Lakes definitely kicked off our Bend trip right. We stumbled upon their happy hour that runs Mon-Fri from 4-6 where the imperial pints are only $3.25. I'm just going to say now that it was trouble. But it was the good kind, not the go directly to jail kind. I had been here once before and knew they had a solid regular line-up but this time we went for a lot of their seasonal items. We had the Riverside Red which was nice and malty. The winter ale was good but didn't stand out much. The Cyclops IPA was interesting, a little on the sweet side for my overly-hopped Portland palate. And then there was my love at first sight. The King Kong Porter, he was tall dark and handsome with great head. Mmmm. And what did they have to soak up all the beer? A pretty decent pub menu. We went with the oyster shooters. Those little buggers were so slick and tasty we had to order another round. The fried oysters were pretty blah as the batter was too thick and lacking in flavor. Our chicken Caesar salad was quite excellent with bacon and Tumalo cheese and it was huge. The space definitely has that ski lodge feel to it and is pretty casual. Lots of locals were around to watch the World Series. It's good to be a local here as they have a mid week night with deals just for them. Our waitress Kendra was very attentive and had enough spunk to wrangle the rowdy group next to us. Don't miss this place if you're in Bend, especially during Happy Hour or you might just anger the Beer gods and we don't want that do we?

  • Kat W.

Standard beer-got the sampler and it had a diverse sample of pretty much every standard style you'd imagine at the average brewery. The beers were decent. Nothing outstanding and nothing horrible. The food was also standard pub fare and was perfectly fine. Nice big space, family friendly, lots of TV's. Separate bar and restaurant area.

I FOUND A WORM IN MY NACHOS!!!!!!! When I found this creature crawling on my food I got up to tell the server IMMEDIATELY. I was going to quietly and calmly tell him what was going on as not to alert other patrons. He rudely said while pointing a finger at me "Can you wait while I deal with other people." I said I was going to try to say it discretely but since I have no choice there is a worm in my food!!! He quickly got rid of my plate and asked if I wanted anything else to eat....uhh no. I asked to speak with the manager once I left and I was going to ask HOW a worm gets into my plate. The manager was also our server and the response was ....."It happens". I WILL NEVER be returning to this establishment because I for one do not believe that worms just happen....

The happy hour food specials are pretty awesome. The beef medallions are very tasty and you get pretty much the equivalent of an entree sized piece of meat, for just $6. Fish tacos are solid and the wings are damn good bar fare. Beers are very good and the atmosphere is chill. My only nit pick would be regarding the waitstaff. I've been there solo, hosted large happy hours, dropped lots of money, yet never got any warm fuzzies from the waiters. Nearly to the point where they seem a little put out. Not the kind of impression I think the owners and management want to give. Or, maybe it's a "top-down" issue. Who knows?

First visit to Bend at least for me over President's wknd, and it was fun. Saw Cascade Lakes and bam, there we were. Sat at the bar area since it's easier than waiting for a table. My only gripe: the waitress was not suggestful when we ordered food. I decided to get a house salad and the BF for some reason decided to get the caesar salad which I thought was odd since he usually orders an entree and we share. We also got a bowl of soup du jour and the mediterranean platter. We are not vegitarians by any means but I do love my veggies and decided to eat light that eve. The waitress could had at least said- btw, the mediterranean is a large dish and has a bed of salad/lettuce you can enjoy, perhaps skip your house salad order and get another dish. But she did not. When the food was served to us the first thing I proclaimed was- omgosh, thats alot of food and salads! Lesson learned for me. Note to self: look around at other tables and see what is being served. I'm usually naive to this and like to be surprised, well this time I was. Regardless of this little snaffu, the food was delish (we had leftover mediterranean stuff to enjoy) and the beer of course was enjoyable. Portions are generous and the best thing is that the meals and beer were about $36 bucks w/o tax! As Californians, we delighted in the fact that all the meals we had during our visit to Bend were pretty darn good and reasonably priced.

I have been here a couple of times and each of them, one thing has made me come back. The beer. The selection of beers that are brewed here in Bend are astonishing. This town has it going on. This place is no exception to the quality of the beer culture here. They have 16 of their beers on tap! It is a nice stop on the way back from the Cascade Lakes Highway. The pub food here is ok. It isn't anything out of the ordinary. The service is lower than ordinary. The lodge itself is nice, kind of out of the way....can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I think I will be back!

My wife and I sometimes stop here on our way home after our morning snowshoeing trips. Today, I had the chicken pot pie and my wife had chicken tomato soup. Both were very good. We have always had good food and good service at Cascade Lakes Lodge.

In a town known for its local breweries, Cascade Lakes Lodge isn't the fanciest of places, but it's a laid back, comfort food and good beer restaurant. The beer stands out. Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. has a number of surprisingly flavorful beer choices. The Blonde Bombshell, at first appearance, looks like it could be a hefeweizen from its color alone, but the flavor recalls a vanilla cream soda. The stout is equally creamy, with a stand-out chocolate taste. The pale ale is less bitter than its hoppy IPA brethren, but it firmly holds your taste buds to attention. The beer is 5 star material, and the food is closer to 3 stars. The comfort food served here is warm, delicious, filling and soothing. It'll put a smile on your face and remind you of fire places and 'grand ma's'. I ordered the chicken pot pie (much bigger than I expected, with a rich and flaky crust). And if you're in the mood for a little 80s style reverie, pull out a couple quarters and give Ms. PacMan a twirl. Pool tables are upstairs, and the game's on. Casade Lakes is a little off the beaten path being outside of Bend's downtown. But it's worth the trip. And be sure to buy a mixed sample six pack on the way out so you can enjoy the beer again and again.

The taster tray is a good deal at $7 and had great beers. My boyfriend says the Monkey Face is the best Porter he's ever had! Food was good and service was good. Nothing super extroardinary though...However...their oyster shooter was the second oyster shooter I've tried and I think I am a fan of them now because their's were pretty tasty:)

Great food & beer. I usually don't submit reviews - but wanted to counter other reviews . This is the third brewery we have gone to three days - great menu selection! Had fried oysters as appetizer , elk burger and my husband got a patty melt - substituted elk for beef. We were well taken care of . Strongly recommend!

My personal favorite. They have the best service in town. Laid back and prompt, hard to beat that. We came to bend on our honeymoon and found ourselves here almost every night for relaxation end the day. Thank you cascade lakes for making us so happy on our honeymoon!

I've been in Bend several times over the last year or so for work. Fortunately it was on one of my earlier trips that I found Cascade Lakes Lodge, and their sister establishments - 7th Street Brew Pub and Red Dog Depot in Redmond. I've had lunch and dinner both, and to tell the truth - the food is OK. Nothing particularly special. I've never had anything bad, but nothing has been outstanding either. Service has always been good, and the kitchen is reasonably quick, it's pretty easy to get lunch well within an hour, and dinner (which is the same menu) doesn't take any longer. The real reason I go here is the beer. One night I tried their Monkeyface Porter with dinner, and ended up having two. Then I tried the Bombshell blonde - which has label graphics that would make Jessica Rabbit blush. I think next was the 20" brown, and after that it all just starts to disappear into a delicious, beer-soaked fog. Suffice it to say that I've made every attempt to return often enough to try their seasonal brews, and usually throw a cooler in the trunk so I can take a case or so back home. Sadly, they do not distribute, so I'm forced to stock up when I visit and then stoop to lesser products for weeks at a time when I run out.

Server was bar tender was great. Really enjoyed my tri-tip salad and beer tour was okay. The beer is uneventful, not bad just not great either. The visual appearance of the beers are there, however, the taste is bland. I would give give it 3 1/2 stars if possible.

We were waiting to get into our river view condo at Mt. Bachelor Village, and decided to head down to Cascade while we waited. We had just finished a long drive and were in need for something to get us ready for the Spearhead show that night. As a beer snob I have to say I was impressed with the brews. I normally judge a place by their IPA, and their offering was quite good. I was also happy with their selection of other beers and the fact that they did offer one on nitro. The food was good, a little above average for brew pub food... Our waitress / bartender was top notch! Kick ass local, who did a fantastic job of handling a full room, while keeping everyone with a beverage in front of them.

Our first time here. The good was very good, though actually too generously sized portions. I had the brisket dip. Wonderful flavor and so tender. Hubby had Kobe beef sliders and he loved them. Beer was good - taster is generous. Recommend.

There was a time when I thought Cascade Lakes was below par compared to the other beer places in Bend, but something seemed to changed at some point...beer and food seem better to me and, being a sit-at-the-bar-type guy, the bartenders are some of the best in Bend - friendly and attentive. Nice job guys!

  • Adam B.

Great spot. Steak medallions are the best item on the menu, and Project X is the best brew. I have done extensive research on both. Best locals joint in town, but not in the xenophobic way... you can strike up a good conversation with anybody in the bar. Kids eat free on Sundays... That was an unexpected bonus.

Great beer, mediocre pub grub. When we first arrived, we were told there would be a 15 minute wait, but then for some reason our table was ready in like 3 minutes which was awesome! Went on a Friday night around 6:30, and there were still some open tables. e all had a few different of the house brews and they were all really good. The food was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. Next time I am skiing in Bend I will dine elsewhere. We went to the Deschutes pub another night, and it was WAY better.

Both he food and service were good. The back patio was nice. The manager had a very cute Golden Retriever sitting near our table. We got their beer sampler and thought it was okay. I'm a man who likes big and powerful flavors in beer, and none of their beers really had that. The blond bombshell was quite the tasty ale though.

This falls into the category of "I really wanted to like this place, but..." This was a generally dissapointing dining experience from start to finish. The beer was underwhelming, as was the food. OK, it's a brew pub - I get that. But when ordering we asked how the fried chicken was and we were told it didn't turn out well so it was not on the menu that evening. Kudos to our server for being honest. Hell, kudos to the kitchen as well, but that's mighty strange that the entire stock of chicken was taken off the menu. Maybe it was as issue with the supplier, but (in hindsight) that was not a good sign of things to come. PROS: Honest server; punctual service; good fries and onion rings. CONS: Underwhelming beer (and wine) and food. Red Ale and nitro Cyclops IPA where "eh" - neither had as much hops as expected, and that's from someone who doesn't care for the West Coast style IPAs (too freaking bitter). Cowboy burger was a decent burger and fries were good. Asian style short ribs were average at best, as far as ribs go. Not a good selection of wines and ones ordered were weak (OK, maybe that's the fault of the person ordering). Overall, wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go back. We neglected to get a beer sampler before ordering our single beers and I might go back to just try their other beers to see how they are, but I don't have high hopes based on the two we tried.

I have been here 3 times in the last 4 months and I have to say the food, beers, service are good, nothing fancy but good. I will say the 1/2 priced appetizers are a bargin from 4 to 6 PM and are good portions in fact are a meal in themselves.

Overall very happy with lodge. Would have given 5 stars except service was a bit slow. Appetizers were half off at happy hour and delicious. Fried oysters were fresh and flavorful as was the artichoke crab dip w pita. Salmon sliders were excellent as well. Only tried the nitro conditioned cyclops iPa which was amazing. Smooth, hop forward and well balanced combined with happy hour prices make this a great choice for food and drink.

I write objective and fair reviews. Read on folks. My wife and I had lunch here on Sept. 30, 2011. This was our first experience here. We had just traveled from Tualatin. We arrived at 1:30 pm and there was hardly anyone there. Okay with us. Lunch hour proper had passed. Gradually more late lunchers arrived. Upon entering the staff greeted us with some but not great enthusiasm. We sat outside for some late summer weather. It is noisy outside due to traffic but it isn't intrusive enought to move back inside. We liked it ok. Our server was "on her game." She was enthusiastic in a genuine sort of way, warm and gave us perfect service throughout our meal. She appeared to be the kind of person who wasn't putting on a front. We both ordered burgers, my wife had a spicy one with jalapeno's and me the Cowboy Up burger with bacon and blue cheese. The burgers were cooked, assembled and presented perfectly. For once in our long experience of ordering burgers in restaurants the beef was cooked medium as we requested! My bacon was crispy as requested (hard to get) and the blue cheese was everywhere....yum! Although bag french fries, they were cooked perfectly with a crisp exterior. This is attention to cooking temp and cook time. Well done! One little surprise was to get homemade cole slaw. I don't know how many readers enjoy cole slaw, but if you do and you are here in Bend try thiers! It is obviously homemade with a light touch of dressing. The addition of a few small bits of parsely and some fresh cranberries makes this stand above most all others I have tried. This is the chef paying attention to all elements of his food. They could easily have purchased this pre-prepared. Finally, the beer. The beer is the only reason for one missing star in our rating. We had 2 pints a piece sampling four different kinds. They were full bodied and tasty to some extent, but not distinctive. We waited for more flavor to come though after the beginning of each sip and it didn't. They are pleasant, not bad, full bodied beers. If you prefer craft/draft beers with a more robust, present flavor profile for whatever you are drinking, you will need to search elsewhere. All things considered we recommend this establishment.

We planned a team dinner here for 20 adults and 20 kids. They made it easy, the food was very good and very reasonably priced. Ask for Amy as your server - she is amazing! We'll be back next year.

Cascade Lakes is always a destination when we're in Bend, largely due to their $7 sampler. The star of the show for food is the BBQ Pit Ham Sandwich. I don't claim to have eaten every sandwich Bend has to offer, but this one is the best sandwich in Bend I've had.

Some of the best traditional buffalo style wings around. The key to their deliciousness is that they are nice and crisp under the sauce. They are served with a nice thick and creamy bleu cheese dressing (non of that crappy Kraft bottled crap) and the traditional carrots and celery sticks. These are pretty no nonsense and straight forward wings, but so good our party of four ordered another round. Do yourself a favor and go straight for the ring of fire.

I went here with a bunch of friends, there was minimal wait for the table, it was even set up with a crayons and a sheet of paper for my friend's little squirt to scribble on. The table we got was pretty cool, under the glass were old ski passes and my native Bend compatriot new a bunch of the guys and girls and knew which ones had gotten married and so on. I can't give this place a full five for the 2 bad meals. I had the gyro, but it could've been described as meat, lettuce, and sauce in a warm, crumbly pita taco wrap. It wasn't even wrapped up like a gyro and started to break apart when I first picked it up. The other thing I wouldn't get is the vegetarian yakisoba noodles, there were supposed to have just a hint of spiciness to them, but they were really spicy with a lingering aftertaste of the heat.

While not the best Bend has to offer it is good and when it's really good it's great. But it tends to be inconsistent. It's a nice place to take the kids because of the larger space than most of the restaurants in Bend but their kids menu is frozen crap you'd get a chain. The Cowboy Up burger is very good as is their Asian Steak Salad and the Kobe Sliders.

I went last night with my family to have dinner. Although it was crowded, the wait time was less than 5 minutes. We had Mediterranean Platter for appetizer and it was okay. The bread was good, however, I have eaten better tasting hummus in other places. The seasonal Pilsner I had was awesome!! The black bean burger with fries was really good. My kids had Portebella mushroom on a hoggie roll and they loved it. The server was courteous and food was brought quickly. Overall I like this place.

I had lunch at Cascades with my husband, his parents and our toddler. Our server was friendly and attentive and brought crayons and paper for my little one immediately, which always scores bonus points. We all ordered beers--I had the Blonde Bombshell, my husband had the IPA, my father-in-law had the Monkey Face Porter and my mother-in-law had the Brown Ale. The kidlet had lemonade. Everyone enjoyed their beverages; so much so that we all had to try a second just to make sure. My father-in-law and I both had the special that day--a turkey and swiss wrap. Those suckers were huge! They came with a huge pile of fries and I was in piglet heaven. My mother-in-law ordered a salad w/salmon and said it was delicious. My husband had a burger and fries and seemed to like that, as well. My son had grilled cheese and was happy as a clam. Although the food and service were both great, as well as their brews, I don't see that I'll be going to Cascade all that frequently. The location is kind of strange, at the corner of the roundabout at Century Drive and Chandler. The vibe inside seems somehow strangely corporate. Kind of the Starbucks vibe. Since it was such a nice day, we opted to dine outside on the patio. Not such a great idea considering that their patio is pretty much on the side of the highway. There's nothing like sucking up exhaust fumes while trying to enjoy a beer and sandwich. I think I would like this place a whole lot more if it were in a different location. 4 stars for beer, food and service, minus one star for the location and slightly overpriced bar food.

Gosh, how I have tried to like this place. I have been there many times, and even more times to its sister pubs in Redmond (Seventh Street Pub- the single worst "nacho", and I use that term loosely, in human history, and the Red Dog Depot), and yet I keep having to ask myself why I go back. I'll admit, this last time it had been nearly a year, and I had forgotten how absolutely mediocre it is in everything it does. I took clients there, and my wife, and again, yet again, we all yawned at the food, yawned at the beer (The Grizzly Mt Stout is . . . well, OK, and so is their signature Rooster Tail ale), and yawned at the whole place- though the prices were higher which makes no sense. DEAR GOD THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS! It does have kind of a touristy, mountain style, so I guess the folks who can't find the good pubs downtown as they sprint between Mount Bachelor and the hotel, famished from their day at the mountain, keep it afloat. But dear Lord, couldn't they improve a little over the years? Beer- bland. Food- also bland. Prices- High for the quality you get. Much better prices at the better pubs. Margaritas are awful. Taco night is not as good as it sounds. And the decor is tv's on every corner, cement floors, and cafeteria style. Not so bad in a pub, of course, but I was looking for something good to say, and I can't find anything. What a bummer. Should be good, and I really would love for it to be. I have read good reviews on the web, but mostly it seems from tourists who are high- high on Bend, high on mountain biking, high on kayaking, high on snowboarding, high on Bend living. I know that sort of travel high can make bad places seem good. I have had that feeling in places like Puerto Vallarta, Vegas, and Mount Shasta City. But when I tell a local, they look at me like I'm nuts. Well, buddy . . . I'm lookin' at ya like you're nuts.

Went here to try some Oregon brews. I got the Stout and the Pale Ale. Both pretty good. I would say the taste was beyond the "microbrew" tastes. A little deeper and with less reliance on super-hoppy tastes. The place itself is larger than it appears, with bar tables, regular tables (outside the main bar area), and a largish bar. There is a ~30inch tube TV and a ~42 inch plasma at the bar which at the time was tuned to "World's Strongest Man." This place is not really a place to pick up girls or anything in case you were wondering. But it is a relaxing atmosphere and the beer is actually quite cheap ($3.00). The food surprised me a little for bar food. I got a veggie burger and fries both of which were good. My friend got yakisoba - didn't taste it but it looked too fancy for that place, somehow... The men's restroom had some interesting pictures above the urinals to add to the kind of "rural" "lodginess" of the bar.

We had to try this spot during a recent drinking tour of Bend. We were very disappointed, partially because we stopped by the sister saloon on foot and they told us the lodge was just down the street. Five blocks later we were in the standard large-restaurant brewery. Their food was okay and the beer was average. I'm into unique atmosphere and this was not it. Head to Bend Brewing Company instead.

beer was just ok, service was just ok and aside from the hair in my sandwich, the food was just ok.
