Delicious, healthier fast food at reasonable prices. What is not to love?

I do enjoy Cafe Yumm, their staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast and consistent. The Yumm sauce is good and you can buy it for home use @ about $15 a bottle :0 but I just have found myself frequenting Cafe Yumm less and less over the years. It just seems very overpriced for what it really is, rice, beans, sauce, and toppings. I also feel like their portions shrank a year or two ago and I don't feel full when I leave anymore- I'm a tiny person FYI So if you go you will be happy but also maybe wondering why you didn't google a recipe and make it at home

All I have to say is that it lives up to its name!!! Get the traditional yumm bowl and try the jalapeño salsa!!! Oh my my!! Delish!

Not many people know this about my friend Jericho but he has a prosthetic leg. For what feels like forever, we talked about going to a restaurant, and when we see the prices, I'd say "man everything here costs and arm and a leg" and Jericho would unstrap his bionic and say "hey john, this one's on me." Yesterday was the day and we decided to choose Cafe Yumm our victim. So we show up around lunch time and it is kind of busy but not too bad. And we approach the front of the line, but it turns out the prices here are actually pretty reasonable. Very reasonable in fact. The menu was so inexpensive we decided to save our epic joke for another day.

Pretty good food and service for vegan.

I've heard a lot of people raving about this place. As a Bendite who hates being out of "the know" when it comes to good grub, I finally decided to give it a try. Myself, my wife, and our 5 year old son along with our 2 year old daughter ventured down to the Old Mill on a Saturday night to try these Yumm Bowls we kept hearing about. The place was clean and bare upon arrival. Staff was friendly with explaining their unique menu however, the food...left something to be desired. It just tasted so bland and in some major need of flavor. It wasn't horrible or unpalatable, but was frankly, boring. I'm not a vegan, but if there was a dish that could convince me that vegan meals taste great, I don't think Cafe Yumm could serve one up for me. They should change their name to "Cafe Hmm :/"

I am addicted to Cafe Yumm... I have had it twice now and each time I was blown away by how fresh and delicious everything was. I would recommend this place to anyone who has taste buds!

Big fan. We need more places like this. Healthy food, prepared quickly, and not too expensive. I basically just get the yumm bowl and it's always tasty. Plus free wi-fi and smiling faces.

I really like Cafe Yumm. I have been to a few other locations around Oregon, and they are franchised I believe. I went to the one in Beaverton quite frequently, and their prices are much less expensive than the one in Bend. I was able to get a tofu skewer in Beaverton for $3.00 - in Bend it's $4.50! I was disappointed in the higher prices; however, food is great! I'll be back, just with a little more cash next time.

One of the best places to eat heathy with kids! They love the yumm bowls and we always buy sauce to make our own!

Cafe Yumm! is truly AMAZING! My husband and I have fallen completely in love with the food and on-tap beer options. The food is all fresh and it is completely obvious when it hits your mouth. They do tofu RIGHT! The service is also great, generally "high-school" aged employees are careless and rude, at Cafe Yumm! they are knowledgeable and friendly. Don't ever stop being so yummy!

Cafe Yumm! was quite good. A customer of Kayo's Dinner House in Bend actually ran outside and recommended Cafe Yumm to us (but that is another story). We took her up on her recommendation and drove down to Cafe Yumm! I ordered the Edamame Yumm Bowl. The bowl contained organic brown rice, original Yumm! Sauce, green soybeans, and was topped with seaweed, cheddar cheese, diced tomato, fresh avocado slices, sour cream, and black olives. It was actually pretty tasty. There were all sorts of options at Cafe Yumm! which looked quite good. I also ordered one of their oatmeal raisin cookies dipped in dark chocolate, which was extremely good! My friends ordered the Yumm n Greens and the chicken skewers... and of course some chocolate chip cookies dipped in chocolate! They were all quite impressed. I would definitely visit Cafe Yumm again to try some more of their Yumm Bowls.

Clean, modern Asian-influenced design. People at the register were friendly & helpful. Ingredients seemed fresh & healthy. Just couldn't shake the feeling the menu was borne of a business & marketing plan, rather than a love of cooking great food. Great convenient location. Interesting concept, needs a better execution of the menu. My impression is that it's a new place still working out the kinks- surprised to hear its a chain expanding from Eugene.

Ok, I live in Bend but had never been in before so I wanted to give it a try. Sorry I did. I ordered an asian salad that seemed to me as though the ingredients were all placed on the plate from pre made packages. You know, how the chicken is chopped into nice little exact fast food type squares rather than pulled from the bird? The dressing was terrible so I didn't eat any of my meal, but my wife ate the salad she ordered. She did say it was probably her first and last visit too. The empty tables were pretty dirty and the staff seemed either bored or tired (although we did go there following the lunch rush so I guess the mess was somewhat understandable). I would say that if you like food courts in malls this may work for you, but honestly with such great places to eat in Bend only minutes away from here I will probably never go back.

Wonderful outside seating with views of the three sisters. This place is very tasty and runs on the platform of being healthy. BEWARE! While they use healthy ingredients, YUM SAUCE IS NOT HEALTHY. Check the facts. So if you are going to eat here, go light on the sauce if your are eating here as a healthy choice.

  • Dave S.

The bowls were expensive. 6.00 for a large that wasn't filling and their sauce was very tangy and took away from the flavors. Not overly impressed. There was nothing special about it and I could easily do this meal at home for the same price and would be able to make it for four.

    (1)
  • Obi W.

Love the Yumn Baby bowl but each time I come they are putting less and less toppings on. A sprinkle of cheese and dab of sour cream isn't going to do it. Seems like there would be more margin on a $8 bowl of rice to do the toppings right.

Organic gluten-free options in an outdoor mall???? Yep! This place is sooooo good and their special sauce is superb! Beautiful area and warm customer service from teenagers! I'll be back for sure.

This place is a great stop to grab a bite at Old Mill. Kid-friendly, excellent vegan/vegetarian options, and their signature sauce can't be replicated!

Cafe Yumm in Bend is a franchised location of the mother company run out of Eugene. Like all Yumm locations, the one in Bend offers a menu of fresh combinations of mostly vegetarian and vegan food. at reasonable prices This review is based on four lunch time experiences at Yumm. BOTTOM LINE: While it is not a place I think of as "destination eating", for quick healthy food it is a decent option if you don't mind standing in line to order, cafeteria style, and carrying your food on a tray out to the table. Seating at tables that are "sardine can" tight. . In the Old Mill Shops so convenient for a bite before a movie at the nearby theater. But overall, there are many other options in a similar price point for food in the area that are a better dining experience. FOOD: Menu ranges from signature rice bowls (rice with different beans or veggies and different sauces and toppings), to wraps, to veggie or fish burgers to skewers (including chicken) to salads. The Yumm sauce, which is the originator's creation that launched this ship over two decades ago, has lots fans even if one of them is not me. . (I think it's available to purchase separately for home use?) ACCESSIBILITY: if someone with you uses a wheelchair or other mobility aid, as do about 11% of the American public, goes to Yumm they may find the following barriers: The entry is accessible but the order process at the counter is difficult for space. The service bar for accompaniments and serve ware is set too high, violating ADA standards and state code making the "stuff" there unreachable. The seating can be so tight that it fails to keep the 36 inches clear passage requirement of the standards making a wheelchair user's ability to get to a table very difficult.

Great vegan food! I've had the Original bowl in a previous trip, and tried the Chilean Zucchini this time. Both were unbelievably tasty. Very nice beverage choices, including beer and wine. Very simple decor, but the setting (along the river) is great for summer eating outside. I'll be back.

Tried this place bec of the rave reviews here in yelp plus its a stonethrows to where we are currently staying. Place is fast food style order by the counter.Had their tofu and rice and felt that the tofu was kinda hard and dried up. Portions were just right. the sauces were yummy. Healthy alternative to burgers and fries.

I love this place! I wish Cafe Yumm would spread East! My boyfriend & I always get Hot 'n Jazzy with slices of thin turkey breast. The mixture of rice, yumm sauce, avocado, cilantro & other yummy ingredients is delicious! We add spicy chili garlic sauce (I think it's Vietnamese, but you can get it at oriental food aisle in any big grocery stores) to the mixture, & it's goooood, if you like spicy. Try it out!

Cafe Yumm! This place so great. I lived in Bend for almost 4 years back in 2010 and I still crave this place. It's so nice to have tasty, fresh Organic/local foods available for such reasonable prices. It's also in a great location in the Old Mill. Definitely check it out and get yourself a Yumm Bowl!

I really wanted to like this place, especially with the reviews here. However, I do not. We went here for lunch one day on a whim. We both ordered the chicken bento. Unfortunately, the sauce was horrible. We still haven't found a good teriyaki in town. The only bright spot was the sauce on the slaw. So disappointed...

Was at old mill to catch a movie on a recent Sunday. Decided to get small bite at cafe yumm...food ok, but place itself dirty; uncleared tables & grungy floors.

I love "The Original". If I order the small I always ask for it a medium bowl which gives one more room to mix the ingredients.

I thought this was going to be something great from the reviews I had heard. It's fast food for vegans I guess. I was not wowed.

Love the Yumm bowls! I always keep a bottle of their sauce in my fridge to make at home. They are always so fast- great option for when you are in a hurry- you can call ahead too. For what they are the Yumm bowls are overpriced... For goodness sakes it's just rice and beans... But very tasty!

Best vegetarian-friendly eats in Bend! Everything is super tasty. Try the Yumm N Greens, the Southwest Tofu Wrap or the Ginger Veggie Burger. Yummy!

I forgot to mention; that you will see the USDA/Organic label on 70% of food & beverage items at CY. To me that is a GOOD sign of VIP eats for most foodies! Chow~

Vegan, gluten-free rice bowls with addictive Yumm sauce. I could eat Cafe Yumm for every meal.

Cafe Yumm is one of my favorite inexpensive food spots in town. Located at the end of the Old Mill, there is usually a decent amount of parking. Delicious, unique food, with ample options for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. The staff is always very friendly, and the wait time is very little. Would recommend for a quick lunch or affordable dinner!

Came here looking for something quick before the movie. Had a "Hot 'n Jazzy", and it was phenomenal. I've never eaten somewhere so cheap that's so good. Absolutely phenomenal. Fresh, complex flavors, and everyone I was with seemed to love theirs. I'll be looking for more locations. Highly recommended.

As a vegan for many years, Cafe Yumm has been the go-to place for my wife and I when we're in Bend and in need of some nourishing food. There are lots of options for vegans, but also options if you're not. The yumm bowls are unparalleled for value, and the food is always fresh as possible. Considering they're from Eugene, you're also sorta supporting a local business, or at least somewhat close. You also won't find a better tasting sauce out there than their yumm sauce. For the big bottle, it's about 15 bucks, but it'll last you for quite a while. I promise I don't work for them either.

Love this restaurant! It is not fancy- totally casual- perfect for lunch or a light dinner. The food is fresh, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. The soups are really good- I prefer the Yumm bowl and it more than satisfies me. My son loves the skewers and my husband likes all of it. I love how satisfying the food is and how healthy I feel after eating it.

Cafe Yumm is my favorite restaurant in bend. Get a yumm bowl with grilled turkey or chicken breast and mix it all up so that you get a little of everything with each bite. Don't be afraid to get messy. For an extra kick, they have siracha sauce near the door. I order take out from here all the time and always crave more when I reach the end of the bowl!

  • Katheryne L.

LOVE the Yumm sauce! But rather than eating in the restaurant, we buy the sauce in their large bottles and put it on stir fry at home. The bowls in the restaurant are a bit to much rice and beans and too few vegetables, but, if you want a tasty, fast vegetarian meal, this is your place.

Cafe Yumm! is a regional chain started in Eugene...and it's the sort of thing that seems like it could ONLY be started in Eugene. The Bend location is in the Old Mill District. As of this review, there are 8 locations throughout Oregon (4 of them in Eugene). Think "West Coast Mexican-Japanese fusion" with more vegan options than normal, and you've got it. You can go for their "bowls" which are more or less burrito fixings in a bowl, or their more "traditional" entrees: a bento box, salmon or veggie burgers, or wraps. Vegetarian and vegan options are AMAZING here: everything is clearly marked on the menu with vegan options, and you can even get a vegan reuben sandwich! This place must have been started by a vegan. But don't let that turn you off - I went with one vegan (me) and three omnivores, and everyone enjoyed the heck out of it. The neat part of this place is that it doesn't fit into any neat categories. You've got meal options here that instantly seem like a good idea, but which you've never seen anywhere else. It would be more interesting if it were a hip little local hole-in-the-wall rather than a fairly corporate-looking chain in a brand new strip mall complex, but it's sort of inspiring to see a new and expanding chain with such innovative, healthy, and veg-friendly menu options. Maybe it's the start of a trend? Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-9pm, Sun 11am-7pm

I was shocked by this place, much better than I expected. It took a bit to wrap my head around the Asian/Mexican fusion, but it really worked. Loved the slaw. Want to go back and try the "flight."

love the sauce for home but the portion size and lack of exuberance by the staff leaves me wondering

LOVE!!! We have it almost every Friday for lunch. I am a vegan and my co-worker is allergic to corn, Cafe Yumm works with both of our allergies. Friendly and reasonable, why would you go anywhere else.

Yumm! The food here is flavorful and appears to be healthy. Be sure to pick up somme yumm sauce to go, you can make youu bowls for yourself at home.

  • Betsy R.

I LOVE this place!! It's healthy, fast, inexpensive, filling, and soooo good!! So far everything, I tried has been AWESOME!!! ALL the bowls are made with super fresh ingredients so you can't go wrong no matter what you order. The Yumm sauce is creamy and adds such a nice flavor to all the bowls plus it's vegan. My husband and I always have a big bottle of Yumm sauce in our fridge so we can make our own bowls at home and he likes it on eggs too. One of the things I always order is a tofu skewer because they are sooo good. The texture of the tofu is crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the BBQ sauce is very tasty. But my most recent addictions are the veggie burger and tempeh reuben. My husband and I order one of each so we can split them b/c we love both of them equally. The house made (vegan) veggie burger has a great texture and the Asian slaw and yummy sauce make it one of the best veggie burgers out there. The reuben is full of flavor and perfectly prepared, even a non-vegetarian will enjoy it. For non-vegetarian, this place offers Salmon Burgers, Turkey Ruebens, and Chicken too. The best thing about Yumm is how much food you get for not too much money. Plus you don't feel weighed down when you walk out of there. Cafe Yumm is healthy fast food that is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Finally something that caters to veggies such as myself.

Yumm! I agree with Nick L - really cool place with great local/organic/vegetarian/creative food for sure. My husband, our 3 year old son and I (all vegetarians) went there for a quick lunch - we weren't starving, so we thought we'd split a large bowl and get my son a quesadilla. For almost $8, I thought the bowl would be plenty to share, but it was a little on the small side. I think they could've done better by putting more beans and rice in the bowl (these are inexpensive ingredients, so why not pile 'em high). The "Yumm sauce" was excellent - hard to describe - it was creamy and tangy - but doesn't have dairy - I think it's tahini based. The quesadilla was great - nice size for the price and the salsa that came with it was delicious. The sour cream was very good too. They also have teriyaki tempeh skewers and BBQ tofu skewers that looked great! Next time, I'll get my bowl in a wrap - other diners had that and it looked like a much better deal for the price. The atmosphere is good - nice low lighting, booths and tables, lots of windows - decor is nice and earthy. Not like your typical fast food place - hopefully it is the start of a new trend as Nick L says!

I don't understand the love for this place. They put their Yumm sauce on just about everything... and it tastes like crap. It's a nasty sauce. People seem to love it for some reason, but it's terrible. In addition, they thrive on the 'feel-good' menu based around healthy choices and odd substitutions in the name of health. Most of what I've had is bland, mediocre food. It's not terrible, but it's just sub-par. Maybe if I didn't find the Yumm sauce so offensive they'd be good, since I'm getting rid of the overpowering taste of that in any dish I order, possibly leaving it bland without. At any rate, it seems like one of those gimicky health-nut opportunist restaraunts. Meh.

I ate here twice and both times I ate the same thing because it was so delish! I had Chillean Zucchini on top of greens with added tofu and tempeh on skewers. Great food, great service and nice neighborhood, too :)

Karli has done it again, opening a new Cafe Yumm! on the Eastside of Bend. Cafe Yumm! is my favorite go to spot for lunch here in central Oregon and I'm very excited for this new opening. I frequent my mother-in-law on the Eastside and we always make our way to the Old Mill location. But now we can run just down the street. Thank you Cafe Yumm! for being a great part of my culinary community

  • Elizabeth G.

Food was just OK, nothing special and overpriced for what you get - brown rice, Tillamook cheese, beans, and some other toppings. However they have some options that will satisfy a picky eater who wouldn't normally go to this type of restaurant. Its located in the Old Mill Shops and there is limited parking nearby, especially if you have a large vehicle. Seating is not conducive to groups over four people, and I felt the layout of the whole place was unnatural.

Oh my goodness- as if I needed another reason to want to move to Oregon, Cafe Yumm is it!! I stopped in here on the way back to SF post music festival at the suggestion of my roommate who went to UofO for college. We both had the edamame Yum bowls- and they were incredible! My roommate also bought a bottle of the Yum sauce for us to bring home, and the store manager was nice enough to fill up our cooler with ice so the sauce would make it the 8 hours we had left to drive.

This is a chain. But, it's not in North Carolina. And, there are a lot of vegan options. So, during our Honeymoon in the Pacific NW, it seemed like a perfect fit for one of our meals out. I opted for the Secret Asian Man Salad with tofu. I was in need of a salad, and it definitely satisfied that need. My husband ordered the Tempeh Reuben, and it give it a big thumbs up. Good beer on draft. Simple, easy, inexpensive. Would revisit if another Cafe Yumm! was in the neighborhood.

We experienced Yumm sauce for the first time in our lives down in Ashland, OR this past weekend and were super excited to find an actual Cafe Yumm! in Bend, OR. The sauce is amazing and after a 7 mile roundtrip hike to Tumalo falls it was the perfect place to fill up and recuperate with some great food. I got the spicey food bowl with tofu and it was awesome. They absolutely accommodate vegans and its well worth the stop for some delicious food. If only there was a Cafe Yumm! on the east coast....
