Solid type buffet with pretty good Thai food. There's also a lot of variety which made it really nice. I recommend it.

This place is not that good | I does not task like Thai food the much | and the food smells like hamster food

Very strong thai iced tea, not enough milk. makde me feel sleepy after drinking it. Weird. Not worth $3. Try pepper thai, or rama thai.

This place may be ok for a lunch joint for folks who don't really have an opinion about Thai and just want someplace with a quick buffet at lunch. The chicken in our panang, spicy basil, and Tom ka seemed a little rubbery and and bland. We asked for more spice in the panang and got less? It was over all kinda disappointing. The staff was nice and very attentive with fast over all service. If you're looking for tasty adventure this is not your spot. Reasonable lunch option only apply.

Hands down worst cashew chicken I've ever had. Sent it back twice before giving up. Bland!

We really love this place, but mostly because of the people! Although we usually get take-out and don't stay long, we are always treated like honored guests. The food is consistent, yummy, and you can be guaranteed to have leftovers!

Can't believe I've never Yelped on Thai Kitchen before. We've been eating there for over 10 years. This is not your Americanized Thai kind of food like my friend who likes pumpkin curry enjoys. They have authentic Thai dishes. Our typical order includes a few of the following dishes: Tom Kah Gai, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, Pad Woon Sen, Ginger Fish, Crab Fried Rice, Vegetables with peanut sauce, and my new favorite, Laad. Na. The family who owns and runs Thai Kitchen is very friendly. They recognize us whenever we come in and know that my daughters prefer their food "no spicy". We always laugh about it as the woman who regularly serves us says the Tom Kah won't have any flavor without some spice.

Not bad, but not worth trying again with all the other places around (Planet Thai!). The Penang curry seemed under seasoned and it was a small portion compared to what you would get elsewhere. Also a child sized portion of rice. AND it seemed like we were over charged too. $32 for curry and drunken noodles... too rich for my blood.

I liked this place a lot. We were concerned at first as it was quiet and we were the only diners on Sunday lunch, but we were happily surprised with the quick friendly service and fresh cooked food. We were 20 minutes early to their opening time, but the lady server still accommodated us. The dishes were not as heavily seasoned as other americanized Thai places which tend to be overly salty or sweet. We got the papaya salad which our auntie server recommended, the catfish special, the laad nah noodles with chicken and the massaman curry with very tender beef. It was fresh and not greasy. Some reviews call it bland, but it was just right for me and my family. My father-in-law thought it was good, too. And he's quite hard to please. We will be back to try their other dishes. :) Ambience is casual and simple, but clean. They also have a weekday/Saturday lunch buffet which I wish to try as well.

Best pad Thai ever! Small, quiet atmosphere... Great service! Almost every dish they offer for lunch is great. Love love this place.. Perfect little hidden gem

We ordered the catfish, lad nah, massaman curry, and papaya salad. We're glad we like the way we seasoned their dishes. They're not overly sweet and salty as other Thai places. I didn't feel drowsy afterwards. Service was personal and brisk.

Very good Thai food. I come here. A few times a month. They have one of the best chicken red curry, I get it with spice level 4 and it's the right amount of heat for me. The curry has bamboo shoots and green beans in it. I also get the won ton soup which I do like. The servers are nice and friendly, the atmosphere is nice. The do have a lunch buffet during the week which I have not yet tried. So to wrap it up if you love red curry you must try it here.

My mother always said "if you can't say any thing nice don't say any thing at all." The staff was very friendly but I can't say I will ever eat here again.

I have been to about a dozen Thai food restaurants throughout the area and I was not expecting much, but this surprised me! The ambience is a little lacking, but the food was amazing! Fresh, flavorful and perfect portions. The service was excellent. It is a family owned small restaurant in the strip mall. I will return again. We had the Thai cashew chicken and the kung pow beef. I can't wait to try the pineapple fried rice next time. It is usually my "go to" dish when trying out a new Thai place, but that cashew chicken looked too good to pass up. Glad I didn't! As a last minute addition, we started with the pot stickers. They were cooked just right, a little crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Yumm!

Stopped by for their lunch buffet. Not very impressive. Horrible pad Thai.... Other dishes weren't good either . There's much better places for Thai than this

Wonderful service. Try their lad nar. My kids gobble that up. I feel good supporting this local business with excellent food. Very kid-friendly service and kindness each time. That counts for a lot in my book!

Thai Kitchen's food is decent, but you always some how leave unsatisfied. The old adage of "you're hungry 30 minutes after eating Chinese," applies to Thai Kitchen too. You can sit inside feeling absolutely stuffed, but by the time you head to the car you're craving a hamburger from Jack in Box next door. The service here is extremely inconsistent, sometimes within the same trip! Getting a table is usually pretty quick. From there service can go down hill quickly. But, it seems like they realize they been giving you bad service and then try to over compensate the other way by being even more attentive then you care for. Large groups always seem to get better service then small groups or singles. This isn't a matter of just one or two servers either, I've seen it happen with every single server there over the past 8 years or so. The buffet is good. Highly recommended all around. Unfortunately it's so busy that frequently half the items are out of stock. Arriving later doesn't seem to help. Half the items are always out of stock, or the guy in front of you just took the last little bit. The food by itself rates 4 stars. I'm a bit disappointed in the number of items they actually have. But the Laab Gai is among the best I've had at any Thai place. The Cashew Chicken and Kung Pao are both great dishes too. The satay chicken appetizers always seem a bit dry and lackluster, but that might be because the peanut sauce served with them is so good. Over all, good food, mediocre service. Always seem to be hungry after eating here within a short amount of time.

Lunch buffet! I have been here 3 times this month and feel like it's still not enough. I have not had Thai food close to this quality. The place is always clean, the service is good, not great but it's a buffet, just grab my plate as you walk by and I'm happy. They try not to get too spicy but the fried jalapeño will get it done if you have a few taste buds to spare. The curry is always a win. The pork meatballs are My new favorite. The buffet gives a great sampler of their potential. I'm sure the dinner menu is even better. For an $11 lunch buffet, no complaints here. I'll be back soon for my new found Thai craving.

So I tried this place as I luv Thai food. I always try the "pad see eiw" first. I enjoyed the the noodles as I like them thick cut and this is a must for this dish. You can get american broccoli or chinese broccoli($1 more). I got it with beef and I would definitely get this dish again. I went there on a Friday night about 8pm-ish, the place only had 3 other tables occupied. I was a bit skeptical at first but again, I enjoyed my dish. My friend got the chicken red curry, a bit on the spicy side if you like that. The waitress was super friendly and cheery, she was young and energetic, she needs to run for student government or be a cheerleader. I mean this is a good way. Service was good and I think the owner helps out bringing out dishes and getting any extras such as rice or more water etc. Overall, it was fine, I will go back and try a few other dishes. Happy eating!

I wanted to like it, really I did. They were so friendly. It was a bit overpriced and there was no one there when we picked up our food. That's not too uncommon as Thai places tend to have more carry out business at night. The restaurant looked nice. There's a full bar. I was thinking the lunch buffet would be good to try one day. The food smelled wonderful when we got it out of the bag. Then I actually tasted it. It was overcooked (massively overcooked - mushy noodles and tough chicken). There was very little flavor. There was absolutely no spice (I ordered medium, as I always do and got what I would consider extra mild). It just wasn't good. It didn't fulfill my desire for Thai tonight. The search for excellent Thai in Beaverton goes on.

Am very happy with their lunch buffet. It's not expensive ($8.95, I think) and has a nice selection. Drink is not included. Thai ice tea and Thai ice coffee friends ordered looked fantastic too. I'll have them next time.

I should say I have only been here for lunch. Consistently yummy and had become a favorite for my friends and I as we work nearby. Lunch specials are filling and taste great. I usually get a curry of some sort. It comes in a bowl with the meat and veggies all mixed together and then a side of white rice (you can upgrade to vegetable fried rice for a buck). Mix it all up and it is fresh and good. Veggies have nice crunch, curry tastes just right. I like it a lot. Ambience is OK - they've recently expanded and remodeled which is nice. Service is usually pretty quick. Lunch special includes soup of the day too.

I've been contemplating to try out the buffet for a while and I finally got to it on Friday. I wish I didn't put off going here for such a long time because I think I found my new haven. The buffet was only 8.95 which is extremely cheap for a buffet especially being a Thai buffet. This place is a great place if you've never tried Thai food before because you can try a little bit of everything. I wasn't expecting that great of food because one it was a buffet and two it was super cheap! But I was surprised on how much they offered and the food was pretty good. If I can remember they had rice, fried rice, two noodle entrees? (vegetarian), spring rolls, curry, chicken entrees, fish entrees, and a tapioca desert. That's from what I remembered but there isn't that much left from what I listed. It was pretty crowded when I went around 11:45 but it wasn't too bad. I would recommend this to anyone that hasn't tried Thai food before or loves Thai food! Remember it's a buffet so don't expect a five star lunch but for the price, variety, and pretty good food it deserved five stars from me!

I was tempted by the lunch buffet. Nowhere else that I know of offers a thai buffet, so I was excited. The food, however, was very disappointing. Almost all of it was bland, poorly prepared, and inauthentic to thai cooking. If all you care about is eating a lot, this place is great. If you actually care about what your food tastes like, don't bother with Thai Kitchen.

I was given mixed feelings about this place after visiting only once. Everything started out well, but there was a laughably embarrassing end. Sadly, it was all their fault. I arrived at Thai Kitchen after it had been open for only a few minutes, and I was the first customer of the day. You'd think that would make my food come out quick, from the first batch of the day's prep. It did come out quick and was what I expected - pretty good. Not fantastic, but it was enough to show the place would be worth visiting again. But then I had my last bite and.. Now, not only was I the only customer present, I was the only person there at all. Hmm. So I started looking around. "Hello?" I said several times wandering from corner to corner. No response. I could hear speech, in a foreign language of course, from the kitchen area. Maybe the host was in the kitchen discussing a few things? I waved to get their attention, but they didn't do anything. They did see me, but did nothing. I opened the kitchen door and asked for the check, but apparently they only understood the aforementioned foreign language. I wasn't sure what to do at this point, so I checked the dining area again, then tried the kitchen crew again. They did nothing. I had important plans requiring me to be on time, so I left. Under normal circumstances this wouldn't have happened, but there seemed to be nothing I could do. I did check their hours when leaving so I knew when I could come back. I did come back. Not just on the same day, but after only a few hours. By then it was lunchtime and the place was packed. The host (a different host than the previous) welcomed me. I explained what had happened, pointed out what I ordered on the menu, and requested a bill for it. She thought it was ridiculous, just as I had, but took my card and printed a receipt for me. She politely handed me the receipt, and as I signed somebody started yelling. Guess who? The morning host! He was mad and told me I was a bad person for walking out without paying; I needed to pay in full, immediately. I proudly showed him the signed receipt and the big zero on the tip line.

Only been here for lunch so far (4 or 5 times), and I'm generally not a big fan of any kind of buffet - but they actually do a nice job here. The dishes are freshened frequently, they use high quality ingredients, it's not greasy, and there are plenty of vegetarian choices. Lots of fresh (and not soggy) veggies in many of the dishes. Per some of the other reviews, I think any buffet like this has to appeal to a relatively broad base in order to stay in business, but the food is fresh, and all the Thai condiments are there to spice things up (which is how I like it). You can always order off the menu. There seem to be so many Thai restaurants everywhere, but I'm glad this one is around. Friendly and efficient staff too..

I went there for a buffet. Good selection of items in the buffet: soups ( 3 varieties including 1 vegetarian), white rice, fried rice, pad thai, chicken dishes, fried beans and jalapenos, and dessert. Well worth the price for $8.95. Highly recommend it. We were there at 12:10 and ended up waiting for 10-15 mts before getting seated, the restaurant was packed. If you are going for a lunch buffet, plan to be a little early. I will definitely go back.

The smell of fresh basil in the dining room, calming, eclectic and ethereal international music in the background, and photos and art depicting the floating markets, offer the senses an opportunity to experience Thailand, in a simple but neatly furnished establishment. I've felt at home here for many years. I greatly enjoy the warm, friendly service and the Thai family that owns the business. Fresh, green vegetables are never boring here, in stir fried dishes such as ginger chicken. You'll find a nice balance of herbs and spices in meals such as "Fisherman's Feast," with sauteed calamari, shrimp and crisp yet tender, green beans that taste like they're straight from the garden. Or for a winter cold, try Tom Yum Soup or Poh Taek. My experience here is invariably at dinnertime. Whether alone or with a group, I've always been served with kindness and attentiveness. The family's culinary skills were praised in Bangkok and in favorable reviews in the Zagat Survey. I'm glad it isn't overcrowded, but if we can keep this a secret, I highly recommend Thai Kitchen!

The best Thia fried banana's around. We will made a lot of special trips there just for the fried bananas during all of my wife's pregnancies. The food isn't too hot. Fairly mild by my standards - the taste is very good.

There are no thai buffets that I know of in the beaverton area until now. This thai restaurant started offering a lunch buffet not too long ago. Sometimes it's nice to try a lot of different thai entrees to see what you might be missing. I went here today (saturday) for the lunch buffet which cost $8.99. You can also order off the lunch menu. The buffet line has 4 different soups, pad thai, 3 vegetarian entrees and 4 meat entrees. I might be missing a dish, but I thought they had a good variety to choose from. The service was good - they seem to put out fresh food on a regular basis and they are good at taking your dirty dishes away. Worth checking out at least once and especially if your really hungry.

Lunch buffet was geared to the lowest common denominator, bland and tasteless thai came out of the kitchen. Not worth the all you can eat price.

  • Matt B.

I came for the buffet. The variety was small but the food was tasty, the vast majority of the meat was just chicken. I feel like I got my moneys worth, and the food seemed light and relatively healthy to me, just wish it was spicier. But I was hungry again shortly after eating. I would go again if I was in the mood for some asian food.

I believe I've tried every Thai restaurant in the Portland Metro Area, and Thai Kitchen is hands-down the best. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The owners will often bring the food out or take your order. The food is outstanding. The standard Pad Thai is anything but. It is the sweet style, full of flavor, and rich with egg, tofu, peanuts, onion, garlic, etc. Other favorites here: The Special Fried Rice (similar base flavor to the Pad Thai, but rice instead of noodles), The Crab Fried Rice (they don't charge enough for this), and the amazing Won-Ton Soup. Bring a group and order a little of everything. You won't be disappointed.

I generally try and make it for lunch once a week. I really enjoy the buffet, a little of everything. My favorites are the Sesame chicken, and spicy chicken basil. They also make a great tom ka gai soup. If you have never tried thai food then this is an excellent place to start.

BTW, the lunch buffet is AWESOME! The selection of foods is from the top picks on their menu - we even had panang salmon one day! it was quite a treat!
