One of the least pleasant Panera's I've been to. No consistency on the food and pre-occupied staff who seem more interested in socializing amongst themselves. On the plus side, there is wifi, comfy seating, and good hot chocolate.

Under-lit and overly noisy. If, being the rebel that you are, you come here for the food, that might not be annoying. But a quick glance around will assure you that a great many of your fellow diners are camped out with their laptops and pretensions. Also, the brownies taste like nothing and have the consistency of half-set plaster.

I've returned many times since my initial review, and I still really like Panera. It's become my "office away from home" and the wifi speed has improved since I was first there. I still think the prices are a little high, but I love everything I've ever eaten there, so I won't complain too much. Their clam chowder is good, but the creamy tomato soup is still my favorite!

Oh, I really don't frequent chains unless someone makes me. This time it was my dad. He had more business at the phone store nearby. But that's a different review. I have never really enjoyed Panera's food when others have dragged me in... it seems overpriced, oversalted, and over -rated. I also get annoyed at chains with hidden fat and calories, like Cheesecake Factory and their infamous offerings... turkey sandwiches with as much fat as two big macs, stuff like that. Anyway. Ahem. Back to Panera. This time my dad got a brownie and a cup of joe, and I got an iced tea. It was pre-sweetened, which I wish they had told me at the register. Ugh. His brownie was super spendy, maybe I resented it because he only ate half, or because I'm on weight watchers ( I'm saving my daily points for carnitas later, are you kidding me?)... but I still thought it was a lot for a brownie. I've actually blanked out what it cost, it annoyed me that much. I am not a fan of the stand in line and then sit down and then go get your food restaurants either... I like being waited on, or going to a funky dive where it doesn't bother me to get my own food because it's cheaper, the people are nice, and the offerings taste good. This doesn't really fit that so much.

These guys are overpriced for the sub par cookies and muffins available (okay its a chain and I should have figured). We came here because of some sweet cravings and just don't have much to say about our visit, experience... Also...I did take a carry out menu and saw later that they do not list prices. Um, WTF, why do restaurants pull this crap?!

Good food, clean restaurant, Quick service. Been here twice for lunch , no issues. Even the bathrooms are spotless. Will return

Excellent healthy salad and bowl of chili which was brain food to get me ready for the Nike employee store experience. This was my first-ever Panera and I really enjoyed it! Nice people and excellent quality food!

Im a big fan of Panera and their delicious food. the food and service is consistent across restaurants. Im always satisfied when i leave.

This is a nice Panera location with lots of seating options. I enjoy the variety of menu options, but there could be a few more healthy items. Also, I don't love the flow of how you order. The food is generally pretty good, but it is a chain restaurant through and through.

So, every week we have a small company meeting here. We show up, pick a table, get a couple coffees and maybe some basic noms. All of us drive all over town, and we chose this location because it was reasonably centrally located to where members of our team live and spend their time, with some being as far as Wilsonville, and me being in Forest Grove. So it's about the halfway point where we can all meet up. I've never had a full meal here--well, maybe once way back. I can't remember what I had. I'm far more a carnivore than a carb-o-tarian anyway, so mostly I stick with the coffee (or maybe a latte), though I'll occasionally eat the occasional bagel or carbo-treat (especially if I get it free on my Panera Club Card!). The food here, from what I've seen on others' plates, is okay. This is kind of fast-ish-food-family-dining, and so the food fits in a manner of speaking. The issue I have, though, is that I've NEVER (and I mean, like, out of the 50+ times I've been in in the past year) gotten through a line for a cup of coffee in less than 5 minutes. I don't really get it. At Starbucks, I can have 15 people in the queue (sidebar: yes, queue--I so much prefer the British term for line--makes me sound all hoity-toity...) in front of me, and still get my order in within about 4 minutes. At Panera, I can have 2 customers in front of me, and it still takes 5 minutes to get up to the register. Some of the issue is Panera's habit of having one register open while twelve people wait in line, and some of it is that their cashiers act as if they are contractually bound to making sure that every single transaction comes with a 30-second explanation of the Panera club card, and how they can fill it out or register online, or yada yada. I have a Panera card. And I know how to use it. But evidently no one else does. All I want is my dine-in-coffee mug. Can I get that, oh I dunno... today maybe? The coffee's fine, and yes, I'll be back, next week, for more standing in line, and another decent cup o' joe.

Panera Bread is a good place for lunch and offers a wide variety of menu items from sandwiches, salads and soups to smoothies and pastries. They definitely have a effective system down for preparing the food quickly, which gives it more of a fast-food type vibe (it's a chain after all though). I ordered the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad and it was very good and fresh. The other salads on the menu were creative and incorporated different vegetables and toppings. Once we started eating our lunch I became a little hesitant to finish my salad after my friend found a long piece of hair in her salad, eww! It wasn't too big of an issue to her so we ignored it and continued to enjoy our lunch. Not sure if I will go out of my way to return to Panera anytime soon.

The pasta is beter as leftovers because all the sauces marinate! Today I had the chicken pannini which was very filling and very delicious! All the baked goods are tempting but after a hearty meal who could eat anything else?

  • Billy W.

Don't let the inexpensive prices fool you. Most items are cheap bread with other fillers. Cleanliness isn't that great. Cafeteria atmosphere

Hey, Panera, thanks for the long black hair in my sandwich and then going out of your way to make it better. The manager was so bad at making things better...I am NEVER going to eat at a Panera again. And I will certainly not allow my friends and family to patronize this place. MMM, long black hair in my sandwich.

I'm a big Panera fan but this one is laid out super weird. It's like a labyrinth of two tops that are all equally far away from the counter where you have to get your food. The employees were super nice though and I very much appreciated the dude who carried my tray for me while I juggled my 7 month old.

    (4)
  • Sasha K.

Their soup and sandwiches are decent, but this is probably the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time and it happened twice in a row! I'm definitely done going to this location. The employees are extremely rude even when you go out of your way to be nice to them. The first time we placed a to-go order with them we called an hour in advance and once we got there we had to wait an additional 25 minutes, which wasted our entire lunch break. On top of that they got 3 of our orders wrong and part of our meal was missing AND one of the soups spilled inside the bag because the lid was not on correctly. I thought maybe it was an off day for them and so we gave them another chance, but had even a worse experience the second time. It shouldn't be that complicated, they really need to get it together.

It's probably been at least 4 years since I've eaten at any Panera Bread, but over the past week I've been here twice! My main reason for going was because I was in the area and I wasn't feeling well so I wanted to get some soup. On both visits, I ordered a cup of their broccoli cheddar soup with a soft dinner roll. They give you a few different options for the type of bread that you want with your soup, which I thought was nice. The soup tasted great and I was pleased with the service because the workers were friendly and helpful. This place seems like it can get pretty busy so I'm sure it may take some time if you order something a bit more complicated, but I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes since I just ordered soup. Another thing I like about this location is that there is tons of parking and stores nearby if you want to go shopping :)

The staff at Panera is phenomenal! They are super friendly, always smiling, and extremely helpful! They make sure you get exactly what you ordered and that you get it as quickly as possible. They are quick to recommend things if you are stuck in carb heaven without a clue as to what you are craving! Sometimes I ask them what their favorite thing to eat from Panera is and order that item. I have yet to be disappointed! I would recommend Panera to anyone who loves carbs and good food! Thank you to everyone over there! You are all outstanding! And so is the food!!

    (5)
  • Melissa L.

I am a fan of Panera Bread due to their corporate giving. And I also like the food. This particular location is ALWAYS busy. And at lunchtime it's not unusual to find no empty tables at all. However, the food is still quick. I tend not to go there during the lunch hour for this reason. However, it's a great place to pick up a soup on the way home.

  • Matthew W.

Let me first say I neither tote my laptop to lunch nor consider myself a "soup and sandwich" eater. That makes Panera just OK for me. However, your miles may vary...especially if you're a WiFi using road warrior or soup-wich lover. The location at Cedar Hills Crossing in Beaverton is a decent place to eat in an area with more than its share of mediocre options (see: McGrath's, Daphne's and Bugatti's). The food at Panera is hot and fresh, though a bit overpriced. Favoring hot lunches, I usually opt for a Panini...my most favorite being the Smokehouse Turkey. The issue I have is the Paninis (what IS the proper plural of that word anyway?!) tends to be somewhat bland and under-seasoned. I don't get a hint of "smoke" anywhere in the Turkey version. One recent find is the Steakhouse Chili. Not the best I've had, but good for a chain, with a decent heat and an adequate amount of meat. Not sure about the cornbread crumbles floating aimlessly in the chili like trespassers in your parent's backyard pool. IMHO, a chunk of cornbread on the side would be better. The establishment itself seems to have a median dining age of 50, so don't expect a hip crowd sitting near you. Like others have said, Panera seems to be a "safe" lunch spot and the patrons seem to fit that mould. At least the crazy lunch-time lines have died down at bit from when the restaurant first opened. Overall, I have nothing bad - and nothing terribly great - to say about Panera. Fresh food, but a tad bland. Fast service, but deathly slow when a line forms. It's just OK.

    (3)
  • Jesy B.

I'm going to start off with one complaint about every Panera I've been to - what is it about this place that prevents people from forming viable lines and making a decision whilst standing in line? Instead you walk in and there's 3 people over staring blankly at the pastry area, five people in an assortment of something resembling a line and an old lady at the counter arguing about "that soup used to be on your menu last year, it was just so good, why is it gone?". And then when people finally get to the front of the line, they stare right back up at the menu board they've been gazing at for the last 5 minutes like it's the first time they saw it. (I am not a patient person). Anyway, I do love me some Panera. I've tried their sandwhiches 'n' such, but I pretty much stick to the brocolli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. That soup is creamy, cheesey and delish to boot. Oh, and their cookies are YUM as is their French bread (especially when it's fresh out of the oven). Also this is a great place to relax and read a book or surf the web with free wi-fi.

  • Ryan A.

We live really close by, but have only been here once. I find my experiences at the chain to be hit and miss. The best Panera I've been to was at their home in St. Louis (you're not fooling anyone by operating as "St. Louis Bread Company") and the worst was probably an experience or two at the Hollywood District location. Based on this visit alone, I'd be happy going back. The guy that took our order was really awkward, but the food was good, relatively fast and reasonably priced.

  • Dave R.

I been here many times and they are just streaky as hell. Sometimes everything is good other times it's not worth a shit. Today it was cold soup and a half ass sandwich. With the wife getting the same it came to $20.00. Then you have to see if you can find a table because of all the people inside are with laptops taking over the place with maybe a drink but most with just water. The help seems to care less about what they put out I mean I got French onion soup and had one curl of cheese on it. Then you know it's an issue if the one curl of cheese won't melt because it is cold. I give up with this place as I said at the start I have had good soup and sandwiches here and did not mind paying the high prices but with it being like the toss of a coin to see if it's good I think I will just go elsewhere and only come here if I want to run my laptop... Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It's more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn your butt tomorrow."

They break my heart every time I go in and see they still do not have the turkey chickpea chili back. I am not a huge soup person but that chili was downright addicting! Love the bacon turkey bravo! I am also a huge fan of Panera's donation practices - because they bake everything fresh daily they give their unsold products to local food banks etc and they are also heavily involved with helping other companies do fundraising etc. I am willing to pay a little more to companies with a conscience.

I think of Panera Bread as primarily a breakfast place, but recently I have been there twice for lunch, so I guess it is good for an anytime meal. I usually get the half and half - half sandwich and soup or salad. Recently I had the tomato soup, very creamy and delicious. I also had at another time the French Onion soup, which wasn't as good as the one my husband makes but still very good. The other day I had their new Pesto Sacchettini, and the first few bite were good, but by the time I got to the bottom, the pasta was a bit cold and starting to become hard and chewy. I think I started with he past, went to eat my sandwich, and then finished up with the pasta. Maybe I should have eaten the past first and all of it before I went on to my sandwich. I took home a couple of bagels for breakfast, and they were very good toasted with butter the next day.

My daughter and i went in for lunch and ordered a veggie sandwich and the tomato soup along with an item I had never seen before...a broth bowl. It looked great but I didn't read that it included chicken. We don't eat chicken. It was completely my fault that I ordered something that I don't eat. I decided to take it back and ask for something else. The response was. " Let me know what you'd like and I'll have it right out for you!". I ordered another sandwich, no questions or prices asked. That was great service! Thank you!!

I did not know what to expect. I have never stepped into a Panera Bread Restaurant. I was with my daughter who suggested we have lunch there since she had been previously and said it was good, very good. We arrived at the tail end off lunch and still quite a line. It was hard reading the board from that distance trying to make sense of it all for the first time. The gentleman that took our order was very personable and friendly. We order one half Roasted Turkey/avocado BLT and Power Greens Salad w/chicken and half Frontega Panini with one of the daily soups. Even though you buss your own table the place was clean at this busy time with only a handful of empty seats, we finally made it to a corner with 2 leather chairs and side tables. It was great and we did not feel we were in a busy restaurant. My daughter plugged in her laptop for free WiFi. Huh, just like if she was at my house. You are given a electronic beeper to pick up your order when ready. It did not take long for it to go off. Everything tasted great. Good portions for a lite lunch but on the higher end. Little stingy on the meat portion in the sandwiches. Love the fried cheese circles on the salad. There are many choices for the health conscious and you can customize your order. . There is also a Panera Kids menu. Exploring the menu online after I got home I noticed not all locations offer online ordering. I also noticed we had chicken on our Turkey BLT. Looked like the meat in the Frontega Chicken not at all like pictured on the web. Not that it makes a big difference in taste but it was not what we ordered. Like I mentioned earlier lite on the meat portions. About an ounce. This is not the standard of 3-4 oz on a whole sandwich. There should of been double the meat at that price. Will be trying the Panera Bread closer to home with and open mind.

Not a fan. At least of this location. The guy behind the counter, who reeked of strong cologne, didn't know what a cafe au lait was. And when I tried to explain it to him, he nodded as if he understood, and then brought me a 16 ounce to-go cup of steamed milk. A steamer, basically. ? So I just asked for another cup, and got some coffee from the self-serve coffee dispensers, and made my own. And then there was the food. :( We ordered breakfast sandwiches... mine was on a croissant. My croissant was so flattened and stiff... I couldn't even tear parts of it apart. I couldn't even break it with my fork. I ended up just eating the egg part and leaving the rest. The sausage tasted undercooked. It tasted microwaved, honestly. It was gross. The whole experience was gross and disappointing. Not a good way to start your day. I hadn't been to a Panera in quite a long while. But I remember that I used to enjoy my experiences there. So I'm hoping it was just this location. I'm open to trying out other locations. But I really wasn't impressed with this one.

Terrible Thai garden chicken wonton bowl. Tepid soup, gummy wontons and veg with brown spots - not fresh. Nothing in the soup hinted Thai or Asian except cilantro. 2nd bad experience at Panera. Won't be back. Save your money people McDonalds would have been better and way cheaper and I'm not a McDonalds fan either. I would have left satisfied at least.

Wifi sucks. Came in to get some work done and internet keeps cutting out. Mind you I am the only customer, so it can't be traffic and it's in the morning. I'm going to Starbucks.

[DISCLAIMER:] Ok, this line is going to sound nostalgic and whimsical, but I honestly do not mean it in the complimentary manner in which it might be received: when I walk into Panera Bread, I feel as though I am back in Michigan.[/DISCLAIMER] Normally, that statement would be followed up with a smile and a small anecdote about the warm feeling I get from a place that reminds me of home. Panera Bread, however, revives memories that are far more bland and infinitely more...aged...in nature. Lemme explain: Panera Bread would do REALLY well in Michigan (if, in fact, they are not there already) because every aspect of their cafe is tailored to the "10am over 60 set." I can easily see the grams and gramps of the Midwest flocking to this place in droves, eager for the "inoffensive" flavors of Panera's basic soups and sandwiches. (In fact, those bread bowls would sell out within minutes of opening the door, I can almost guarantee you.) Nothing here will ever "angry up the blood," as they might say. And THAT'S the problem: here in the Metro area, there are SO many better choices out there, from little indie joints like the Press Club to Zell's to...why am I even naming off examples? Take pretty much any restaurant in the area and you have a place with more imagination than Panera could ever come close to providing. I cannot honestly, out of the two times that I have been there, ever state that my meal was memorable in any way except for that it: 1) did not give me food poisoning and 2) I paid a little more for it than I thought was fair. Seriously. I could not even begin to tell you what kind of spread was put on my sandwich because I couldn't even taste it. (Was it supposed to be some sort of sun-dried tomato ale something? Couldn't tell you!) The cheese and broccoli soup breadbowl was of a decent size, but really a can of Campbell's could offer me a similar experience for less. But you know what? It's a friendly place, well-staffed with good lighting and all that jazz, but here in the Met? Nah...Panera's future lies not with us here, but in places with a less-developed food culture.

Popped in on Memorial Day for a quick breakfast and was sad that they stopped serving breakfast at 11am. Instead ordered a BBQ Chicken Salad and was surprised by how HUGE it was. The food is pretty good overall and the staff are friendly.

This is such a chick place. Totally a hot spot to eat and dish with your girlfriends. My husband and I ate here. He tolerated it, as he is more of a burger person. It's got healthy sandwiches, breads, soups, salads and fresh fruit. Bright colors, pop art images, and lots of seats, and cute tables. This place was packed for lunch. We ate here with our real estate agent. My soup and half sandwich were great! They have about 4 soups per day, which is a wonderful variety. I had the onion soup, which was tasty with a little gruyere cheese. The half turkey sandwich and apple it came with were just right. My husband had a roast beef sandwich.

My best friend and roomie has been raving about this place for probably over a year. I finally went in with him recently and loved it. The bread, pastries, etc. are all on display for you to salivate over, the prices are great (was surprised at how low they were for the bread!), the fruit smoothies are yum and refreshing, while the story of how they get their dough each day and donate left overs makes you feel good about spending your hard earned cash there. We walked out with some of those fabulous smoothies (strawberry and I think lo-fat to boot!), a sourdough baguette that made the perfect addition to our pasta dish, as well as a loaf of I think white? It was fresh, thick and total yum - we ate it so fast though, so next time I need to get at least two! Panera is also a "sit-down" place and I hear has AMAZING breakfast sandiwches.

  • Melissa W.

This place is trying to squeeze you for every penny you have. They're overpriced and they don't do logical "meal deals" at all. They actually serve you a chunk of dry, horrible bread as a side for your SANDWHICH? Why on Earth would they want to show off they're product which is BREAD in such a horrible way? It's literally a hunk of dry, horrible, room temperature rock like bread. No butter.. no warmth, no oil, nothing. Oh wait.. you could opt for a dry, golfball sized apple... my bad. They offer you a choice of standard sandwhiches but the "good" sandwhiches are on the "select" options and none of it makes a bit of sense when you try to understand the menu. Try the soup before you order it. One or two are really good but some are downright inedible. Stick with buying some bread or pasty and leaving. Do not try to lunch here. Maybe the salads make more sense.

Had dinner here tonight. I had Caesar salad and added the chicken, and a cup of the Broccoli Cheese soup and it was delicious. The chicken was marinated and very moist and flavorful and the soup was hot and cheesy. I think this would be best as a breakfast and lunch spot but for a light dinner was just right. Our friend had the French onion soup in the bread bowl and it was fantastic. Looks like each booth has electrical outlets built in for computers and saw several folks with laptops out so must have WI-fi access, so a business meeting or quiet place to work over a pastry or lunch would be good also. I will be back. Big Mike

I love this place. I've sampled their soups, sandwiches and salads and have had no complaints about any of them. They have a great selection of delicious bagels and breads and some great flavored cream cheeses. And, of course, their drinks are great. I enjoy their coffee and especially love their iced chai lattes. The staff has ranged from very friendly to somewhat harried and aloof but I've never had a truly horrible experience with any of them. I highly recommend this place either for a quick lunch/dinner or to linger with friends, a book or a laptop.

I don't know why exactly, but this place is turning out to be my favorite haunt for things like coffee, sandwiches, soup, etc. I think it's because it offers such a warm and cozy escape on those ubiquitous cold and rainy days. The fireplace is an especially nice touch. There's also plenty of seating, unlike most Starbucks. Oh, and the food's really good, too. Cannot recommend the soups (or this place) enough. D-lish!!

I like sandwiches. I like soup. I like Panera. Simple really. No annoying servers. In, out and done. Yeah, there are issues with people milling about trying to form a line - there are idiots everywhere. And it's probably a little more expensive than most. Yes, there are better places - but none as close and as easy to get to, nor open with decent hours. It makes me happy and cures my hunger. End of story.

Hmmm... Well, they have wide variety of breads. They offer good lunch food ( I came in for lunch and the menu is quite extensive and will fill your empty tummies any time of the day). I've had clam chowder. It was ok, I've had better but I like the way it is being served (bread bowl! chomp on it after ha! just kidding). I forgot what sandwich I had but they are all decent. In fact, I prefer this than most sandwich stores. The bagels can compete with Noahs for variety and flavor and I would recommend this to anyone in contrast to the other sandwich stores.

Great tasting sandwiches. The soups are really good and don't have that salty taste that other places have.Creamy Tomato soup is outstanding!! Bread bowls are good. They now have mac an cheese!! Its not to bad. Free wifi is a plus. Prices may be a bit high, but i think its worth it. They have a nice verities of pastries and cookies. free refills also.

mmmmmmmmmhhhmmmmmmm! WOW If you like chocolate I want to invite you to get their signature hot chocolate with giant chocolate chip marshmallows!!! It is topped with whipped cream and salted caramel sauce!!!!! YUUUMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! ok so it started out looking a little light chocolate....so i let it sit while i ate my chicken noodle soup, & did some work online then i scooped the whipped cream with salted caramel sauce then stirred the cocoa and marshmallows, it got darker and more chocolatey, then drank half, did some more work online...it got thicker and more chocolatey, i stirred again....turned into chocolate soup! yummmm!

Oh my! Why didn't discover this place earlier!? I love soup, and they have different types of soup...that they let you try if you haven't had it before. I had the broccoli cheddar soup...and even though I felt bloated afterwards, it was worth it because it was good. LoL. The tomato mozzarella panini was good....I gotta go back to try other things on the menu! Affordable goodness~

I love Panera, but this location was having a rough night, it took 20 minutes to get our food, then our entire order was wrong. I ordered salad and 1/2 sandwich, I got a full sandwich no salad. My niece ordered a sandwich hold the avocado and her sandwich came loaded with avocado. While we were waiting two other people brought there food back because it was wrong. Hopefully these guys get some training on how to read their tickets/computers better.

Was so excited to see a Panera Bread. Just moved here. Customer service was lacking. "Greeter" who took our order was downright rude.. and I think he might have been the manager. Douglas, you might need to rethink your career choices.

Place was packed, walkways between tables are nonexistant, tables are crowded together. Food is good, even though the system messed up my order. They quickly fixed the mistake. I like panera but I definitely not coming back here during lunchtime again.

This is my go to spot for a quick lunch with free wi-fi ...I love that they have organic turkey that is roasted in-house... In the summer time I couldn't get enough of the prawn sandwich with tarragon dressing. These days it's grilled cheese with french onion soup. Sure it has a Tom Horton's feel to it (minus the donuts) but I don't mind it, because I know what I'm in for from the moment I walk in the door. It is always consistent and tasty.
