Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Slow service, overpriced sushi, and confusing menu that is a bit misleading. Disappointing.

Have trouble finding good sushi since moving from Houston to NM. Visited Willamette Valley labor day weekend and found this place. All rolls we tried were great. Fish was fresh and clean tasting. Offered brown rice which I like. Wine selection could be better especially for the region. Overall a nice place with good food.

Fine and fancy food except several overpriced items. Especially sushi - very high price for okay quality(priced per piece/5 out of 10). Sushi rolls - reasonable price for great quality(8 out of 10). Tempura - great(seems to be using good and fresh oil/7 out of 10) Orange chicken - very high price for okay quality(5 out of 10). Overall, 6 out of 10 presentation - exceptional(9 out of 10), food - okay/great(6.5 out of 10), price - over priced(2 out of 10) with excellent staff and atmosphere I will give 7 out of 10

Full bar!!!! And it's nice as well :) it's a pretty bar that's large that sits in the center of the restuarant with a large flat screen TV. Sports were on for you guys:) We found this place late at night and quite by accident. I think those are the best kinds of finds! The sushi was quite tasty and presentation lovely. The menu is large and this place will pretty much do what you want even if it's not on the menu which is always nice. What this place specializes in I think are rolls- we ordered a few different kind and they were visually pretty, the rice was perfect and they were delicious. They also order nigiri and those prices are typical. While we didn't order the Love Boat special it looked great. I tried the following: * Pink Lady Spicy Salmon, shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, tobiko wrapped w. soybean paper. Topped w. spicy & eel sauce. I loved this the favors meshed really well. * Buddy Roll Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna topped w. spicy shrimp, eel, avocado, tempura flakes, drizzle. This was yummy and different. And yes I bit it and ordered: Sex on The Beach Roll Shrimp tempura & spicy tuna topped w/ yellowtail, avocado & caviar It was great!!!!!! We tried the filet hibachi - that experience was lovely, tender and the steak almost melted in my mouth. Someone else in our party I think ordered grilled Chilean Sea Bass- and I remember being delicious. They even serve ribs! Who knew!? Ok non food bummers- the toilet was broken and I had to fix it to flush. Something in the tank was off kilter. Sort of freaked me out but hey sometimes you have to roll up your sleeves and do what ha gotta do.

Beautiful, delicious sashimi! It was fresh and delicious and oh so unctuous. My favorite was the white tuna which I have never had before. My husband loved the rosemary chicken and broccoli. We've been back several times since. And the presentation is beautiful. Almost too beautiful to eat... Almost. This is a special occasion type of place since it's pricey but great food!

We just had the best dinner here and wonderful service by Patrick! Thanks a bunch for providing such a satisfying dinner for me and my family!! Making accommodations that were not on the menu..mash potatoes...score!!!! Big thanks...

I ordered the hibachi combo (I chose to get the steak and shrimp). The steak was over cooked (I ordered it medium rare and it came out well), which was disappointing. The quality was passable. My boyfriend ordered a sushi and sashimi plate and it was okay. The quality of the fish wasn't great. No flavor, and sort of dry. The servers and host were very friendly, however, and they let us eat my birthday cupcakes, even though I brought them in from a bakery.

I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Me and my friends had a blast and we ate a bunch of awesome food!! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food here!!

If it wasn't for the really good waitress we had, I would have given one star. This place is not for anyone who wants real Japanese food. Fried rice with our main course and our tempura flakes were mixed into the spicy tuna, not on top so there was no crunch. And they weren't able to get the miso soup right either. It was watery. We won't be back.

Full bar. That's cool. My friend and I decided to share the meal and ordered the sashimi deluxe combo, fantasy roll and another roll ( can't remeber the name). I like the fantasy rolls. They cut it into 4 big pieces. I had to wait around 35 minutes for the sashimi tho. I guess if you want fresh sashimi, you gotta wait.

Way closer to our house than Mio Sushi or Crazy Sushi AND open on Sundays. Count me in! But the prices? Oy. And the flavors? Meh. And the timeliness of our to-go order? Off by a full 15 minutes. We tried a couple of rolls and some nigiri sushi plus some miso soup. It just doesn't compare to Mio or Crazy and for the price, I might as well splurge in Portland. I might go again because it's open Sundays when most other sushi places aren't, but it won't be for any other reason. It's better than NO sushi when you've got the craving. But otherwise, I wasn't impressed.

I got take out, a little slow, but worth the wait. Staff is awesome. Made to order. We'll be back, thank you!

Waited for 10+ min at the vacant hostess station to be seated in a dining room that was only at 1/6 capacity. No I'll be right with you, nada. Finally we are seated and begin to wait another 20 minutes with only a glass of water. Still no acknowledgment from server - we slowly pick up our purses amd walk out. Won't be back. I was ridiculously unimpressed.

Sushi was fine and artfully arranged. Just seemed drastically overpriced for no obvious reason. There are surely other restaurants at Progress Ridge where you can grab a decent bite without breaking the bank, so we'll probably pass on Nikki from now on.

I really liked this place and we live so close by! Really pretty interior and the food is pretty as well, a fresh flower decorated our sushi plate. Prices are ok, they have good combo sushi plates and also individual orders. We tried the Orange chicken and it was so good! Had a really nice flavor and wasn't overly greasy. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

This is our second time coming here with family. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. The staff was friendly and spot on to our needs and special request while ordering. The ambiance is casual and well kept. It great place for a date or a family meal. We ordered sushi appetizers and the jalapeño hamachi. Both dishes were great and nearly presented. For our main course we had their special roll of the day "avatar" as well as the special crispy tuna roll and the asparagus roll. Everything was tasty, well seasons and presented. Additionally they have a nice bar inside should you want to have a quick drink prior to catching a movie in the plaza.

PORTLAND, OR: Nikki Sushi and Steak served us an excellent meal tonight! The server was quick and attentive and the selection of food was excellent. The ambience is about what you'd expect from a nicer-end sushi place, but not the highest end. The food was terrific. Comments below: Edamame (3 stars) good edamame, tough to differentiate one from another Crab Rangoons (5 stars): These were a highlight, delicious Vegetable Tempura (4 stars): Very good, lightly fried, included esparagus Volcano Roll (5 stars): Highlight of the meal, delicious roll topped with warm and spicy seafood. Awesome! Halloween Roll: (2.5 stars) This roll is very popular but not very good. Pass. Boring, fruit accents, a lot of tasteless fillers. We didn't bother eating all of it. Philly Roll (4 stars) One of the best Philly rolls I've had and the price was right! Definite recommend. Manhattan Roll (4.5 stars) Our second favorite! Delicious, flavorful, beautiful. This was a strong recommend, it was spicy and sweet and complex.

This place is pretty good.. I have had better sushi but this place is for sure above average. They have some creative rolls, that makes it unique. They are usually not that busy. I always get it to go and they package it really well... Pictures to come

Would have gotten more stars but the service was so horrific. We went there for the first time, and food was just ok, but our server was full of attitude, never asked us how we were doing, Everytime we asked for something (like water refill he would act like we were a bother) Not once did the server ask us "how is everything". He was trying harder to impress his co-workers then to take care of his customers. I have never not left a tip for someone, this was a first. When we asked for our check (there were 3 of us) he didn't even bother to ask how we wanted it split (I know splitting a check can be a pain, but at least ask). He just split it 3 ways. I've worked in the restaurant industry in my day, so I get how irritating customers can be. We were pretty darn easy, and he managed to provide the worst customer service I have experienced at a restaurant in a very long time.

I love their hibachi style lunch and dinner meals. It's like going to a teppan grill but minus the cooking in front of you and the hefty price that comes with that. The service is good but it can get crowded here at dinner time so do make reservations or expect a little wait to long wait, might have something to do with the theater (Cinetopia) letting out nearby.

  • Jimin K.

We ordered hibachi, 3 different rolls and seaweed salad. Personally, I liked the hibachi the most and had better sushi at other place. Seaweed salad was little too sweet but still enjoyed it. I will recommend this place to others.

Ordered the BBQ ribs which promised to be so tender they would fall off the bone. I could hardly chew through the tough crackling dry meat. When we complained, the chef said that's how they serve them there. We had eaten the ribs previously and they were tender and juicy. Then they came back and said the ribs come pre-cooked and frozen and they had just cooked them on too high heat. I settled for mediocre California Rolls.

Yay! I'm an fan because I think it may be the best restaurant I have been to at Progress Ridge area in terms of service and food, so it gets an extra .5-.75 star for that alone. The positives: SERVICE: Our waitress was awesome. She was not the best waitress I have ever had in terms of attention but whenever I saw her she was hustling and she always filled up my water glass as soon as it was empty. She also smiled and seemed happy to be there. She also updated us on our food and did not leave us hanging, I have had WAY worse service in nicer restaurants in Portland. FOOD: The hibachi chicken, gyoza, Boston roll, and Fantasy roll were all delicious. Our party of three certainly enjoyed all of them! The fish in the sushi did not smell fishy and was melt in your mouth good. The hibachi plate was huge and delicious. ATMOSPHERE: The small restaurant had the feel of a larger one in a good way. And, I know this may be a weird compliment, but they had the restaurant at a PERFECT temperature. It was pleasantly cool and not freezing. Very nice with this 90 degree weather we have been having. The negatives: PRICE: Rolls are expensive here unless you get the basic rolls. I don't know if I need to change my expectation but I always feel like two rolls of sushi should cost around $15, not twice that but I may have the wrong idea. However, our group was careful with what we ordered and walked out with an appetizer, 2 x ice tea, 2 x miso soup, 1 x salad, 2 x specialty rolls and 1 x hibachi for under $50. MENU: Pictures on the menu and 4 pages when it could have been 2. I have a thing about menus, I once walked out of a place because of a bad menu design (to be fair, that place also SMELLED). Nikki sushi has so many other things going for it that the slightly bulky menu can be overlooked. No outdoor seating, at least that I could see. Minor negative. Overall, this restaurant is definitely a solid choice with good service in an area where no one seems to do food right except for New Seasons. Notes: Good for kids, they have a kids menu that looked pretty good! I had my eye on the kid's hibachi...

Excellent sushi. Polite and knowledgeable service. Best sushi I have had to date in the Portland area. Lunch menu also looks great. Our server said it's the same size as dinner just a lower price. A bit spendy for 2 ppl it was almost $100 after tip but honestly it was so wonderful that I'm not sad. Sometimes when I eat sushi I feel gross from all the cheap rice but this was high quality fish and not a bunch of rice. Surprising not fully or uncomfortable, just happy!

Went today for the third time and was very underwhelmed. For a party of two and $70 with tip I should be full and somewhat satisfied. The sushi was bland and had no flavor. This perplexes me as there were plenty of ingredients in my "Pink Lady" roll. My tuna tartar was good the first time I came here but today tasted very bland. I ordered Mochi thinking there is no way they could mess it up and.....well it did not taste like authentic Mochi. They even added whipped cream and chocolate sauce but nothing could save this Mochi :( I will probably go to Sinju even though they are farther and just as expensive.

(Rounding up from 2.5) Brought my youngest here for a Friday Night "Mom & Bean" Date. First impressions were a little rough. We rolled in around 7 without reservations, and asked if they had space for 2. Hostess, seeming to avoid eye contact, said they "only" had space at the sushi bar. "Great! We're in!" Bad feeling in the pit of my gut, as we immediately felt unwelcome, then waited forever for someone to notice us after being seated. Luckily, our server was friendly, and apologetic of the 10+ minute wait for recognition. Sashimi appetizer was spot-on. Gorgeous as the glossy menu photos indicated, delicious as anticipated. Crab siu-mai appetizer wasn't my thing, and I wondered if the wrappers had been previously frozen - but, Sabine was happy with them, so I was content to watch her eat. For the main course, Sabine & I split the filet mignon. The accompanying house salad consisted of lettuce + tiny shreds of carrot in a lackluster dressing. Currently, I'm working garde manger at a farm-to-table restaurant, so I know my greens + dressings. This salad gets a 2/5 stars. The steak itself was a bit under-seasoned (Disclaimer: my taste buds may possibly be blown from the "raining salt" approach taught in culinary school), though otherwise perfectly cool-in-the-center medium rare. Sabine said the steak was perfection. My major beef with the steak entree was the vegetable side - steamed broccoli and "baby" (chlorine-soaked, straight out of the bag) carrots with no detectable seasoning. For a $25 entree, I want to know someone is risking their fingers to mandolin & julienne my carrots. And, I want butter & garlic & salt. Those poor steamed baby carrots were so sad - they were cracked & turning white. No good :( Such stark contrast between the sashimi platter and the obviously underwhelming attention to detail on the steak dinner. I know this is Beaverton/Tigard, and us locals can sometimes have lower standards than our Portland-based counter parts, but if Nikki wants to charge big-city prices, they're gonna have to try a little bit harder.

Positives first, the food was delicious and the presentation was very nice (I had the crab rangoon and pan seared scallops). The waitress was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and fits in well with the more upscale area. My only negative was that I was a party of 1 and it took over an hour to get my entree after I ordered. I might be able to understand this if it was the middle of the dinner rush and the place was packed, however, I arrived just before 4 p.m. and half the restaurant was empty. All this to say, if you have time, this is a great place to go for a nice meal.

This place is always crowded, but I'm not surprised because their food are amazing! The staffs are very accommodating and the food portion are huge. Worth the price and the wait.

I was really impressed with this place... The food was fresh and the service was good. I was a little cautious going in bc I had read some mixed reviews, but was thrilled at the selection of food offered. My husband had several rolls of sushi, which were all beautiful and delish...I had the habachi shrimp which was amazing. We also had the edamame and the tempura appetizer, which were both great. The service was also good and efficient. We will definitely go back soon!!!

Fantastic! Alan was our chef and we sat at the sushi bar. Fabulous food, fresh, delicious, and so beautifully presented! Absolutely artful. Although pricey, it's the best sushi we have had in town. I highly recommend. We sat at the sushi bar, and he made fun dessert plates for our kids (8 and 9 years old), on the house.

This place is the new sushi spot. Everything was top notch! We order the sushi and sashimi for two, the tempura and a veggie roll. Delicious! They have a full bar and the drinks are good. They have sitting at the drinking bar(with TV) and sitting a the sushi bar, along with table and booth seating. The service is outstanding! Very helpful and friendly. Price was good. $100 for two appetizers, two alcoholic drinks, a kids drinks, huge sushi boat, and veggie roll. They also have wide variety of steak, and chicken entrée options and cooked and veggie rolls, for those not into sushi. A+ across the board for me.

We had dinner here on a Sunday and it was great. Ordered the volcano roll, spicy tuna and philly roll which were all VERY good. Food didn't take too long to come out. The volcano roll was excellent, we wished we had ordered 2 of them. For $28 we had sushi and two sides of fried rice and we left very full and satisfied. Already talking about when we will be going back for more! Excited to finally have a decent restaurant in Progress Ridge!

I went there with a male friend. We had drinks and sushi. Our bill was 100. Not surprising since sushi is always spendy- most of the time. We loved the "sex on the beach"role. We also like the "veggie green dragon roll". We also liked the coconut elixir drink. I initially ordered the lemon drop and it was terrible but they removed it from the bill so I won't complain. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice. The location is perfect for a dinner and movie or bowling. Great location!

  • James H.

Solid spot. I had the spicy girl roll and sashimi. Sushi was fresh and the roll was actually spicy. I sat at the bar and the service was friendly. Only bad thing was that it took almost 20 min for the food to come out. All good, I'll be back.

Honestly the name is so strange, I probably wouldn't have eaten here if everywhere else in PR didn't have a 30 minute wait. I am very glad I did though! The crab wontons are excellent, the sushi rolls too! I think they are a bit more expensive than some places, but not more than a dollar or two. The service was also great!

So I'm a no nonsense kind of sushi person. I like just simple fresh nigiri. I just like to grab the nigiri list and check it off. So when I go to a restaurant that does not have such a list I just get overwhelmed. I also find that the nigiri is usually twice the price. Well that did not surprise here. I decide to check out their rolls instead. More for the money and also that seems to be their speciality. What I don't like is the fussy cream cheese and the deep fried tempura thrown into the rolls. I let our server know and she set us straight. We had a couple 3 of their pretty rolls and they were all delicious. We also wanted salmon skin hand rolls. They were not on the menu. She said, no problem and got them ordered for us. The sushi chefs really know how to cook salmon skin too. It was crunchy, warm and fresh just how we like it. There's also a salmon skin salad on the menu and the price is very reasonable. I got to eat sushi in a different way and it was not too shabby either.

I really think this is the best place for Sushi in Beaverton. I'm not saying it's the best I have ever had by any means, but this place is WAY better than the several sushi places around town that have the sushi parading around the restaurant on those boat floats. The sushi tasted very fresh and we got 4 plates of sushi (3 of which were on happy hour) for a good deal. The sushi was more than enough, that we almost didn't finish it all (party of 2). With an alcohol beverage and a shirley temple our bill came out to a little over $35, not too bad. The quality is WAY better than the Sushi Boat place down the street in the Murrayhill shopping center. Plus the appearance and layout of food was pretty. When we go back I think I would try some of their tempura or a bento box of some sort.

Bar tender was amazing, went on a date here last night. The sushi was very good and the drinks made just right. Everyone was friendly and not just fake friendly. We went a bit before closing but they did not seemed burdened to help us but instead happy.

Nikki sushi is amazing. I love everything about this place. I was there for the first time not too long ago and I stop in a couple times a week now, the food is THAT good. The sushi is fresh and the service is awesome. Drinks are very tasty and they have a great variety. They even let me put whatever I wanted on the tv. This is a special place and I'll never stop going. Try the teriyaki combo if you don't like sushi.

I am a big fan of teppanyaki, bottom line, the food here was just ok. The service was on the slower side. I would come back to try the sushi, there were a few unique rolls on the menu, but only if I was in the area. The inside is dimly lit and swankier than I expected.

  • Shy A.

Just plain awful. But, why two stars? I gave the additional star for our server who quickly removed my meal off of our check without having to make me argue.... A few friends and I headed over to Nikki to grab an early birthday lunch. We ordered a few bentos, the chicken, shrimp and salmon. The server was very nice, bringing out salads and soups quickly. My salmon bento came out, the dumplings were delicious but that's where the goodness ends. My salmon was WAY undercooked. No big deal, I asked our server to take it back and fire it up. It came back a couple of minutes later and it was dry around the edges. No big deal, I expected it because I told her to fire it up, I kept eating and then got to the middle. Still raw. Wow. I pushed my plate away and was done. Our server realized that I wasn't pleased with the meal, I felt terrible for not eating it but I showed her how raw the salmon was the second time. I get it, but it was still transparent and didn't have the flakiness of salmon that is properly cooked. I loved the decor and the service was good but unfortunately I don't think that I will be back.

I've only ever come here for lunch, but I would imagine its a nice place to take your significant other or a date. The restaurant sits on Progress Lake, but I'm not sure if you can site on the patio to overview the sites. The sushi here is very tasty and they have great lunch prices. You can either dine in or get to go, I'm sure the wait time is the same for either.

Love the service and the food is great! Lunch is very reasonable in prices. We have been going here for a while...I don't do sushi, but my OM does and it is nice to find a place where I can have a good meal and he can have the beautifully displayed and good sushi!

So glad this place is here! I stopped in today and ordered 3 different vegetarian rolls and they were all excellent. Everything tasted very fresh and the presentation was beautiful. My only half-complaint is that the hostesses don't seem to know much about the menu, which I understand they aren't servers, but still feel they should be well acquainted. Regardless, great sushi and we will definitely be back. Edit: I wanted to clarify that I originally came here to place a to-go order but after two different hostesses couldn't answer multiple questions about different items, I decided to ask the sushi chefs myself. The sushi chefs were so friendly that I decided to stay to eat :) (hence the comment about hostesses not knowing their menu)

First visit last night and found it to be an odd experience. Decor was upscale and pleasant but had some very odd crap on the sushi counter top. Two very large Costco size rolls of plastic wrap sitting about 2' from our seats and a tacky clear glass fish with some dollar bills stuffed inside. Really? We had a mixed sushi and sashimi plate and it came with a large goblet with some weird stuff in the bottom surrounding some blinking colored lights with fish on top. Incredibly cheesy and I immediately asked to have the colored light display removed from my sight. The fish was very fresh and excellent so that was a pleasant surprise. Very ambitious and overdone menu that does not quite know who the are. Greek salad?? Service was average and not very helpful. Like to see them succeed but they need a tune up.

It is just amazing how the chef at Nikki sushi and steak prepares your sushi. I pop in at the sushi bar and ask him for what ever he wishes to prepare. Each peace is literally hand made to perfection. He takes his time to not only give you tasty fresh delicious morsels of delightfullness but also attractive displays of each dish. Today he prepared live scallop sashimi. What wonderful flavors, you can't get any fresher and the presentation is awesome. Next he prepared yellowtail wrapped around salmon and cucumber sticks. Here again very nice flavors with a delightful presentation. And next he prepared a tempura tuna roll. This was certainly different as I normally stick with more traditional sushi and not the american style of rolls. In this case the chef was right. He prepared this dish to complement what was already served. It was delicious and presented quite remarkably with a lighted upside down martini glass, tomato bunny, and other interesting decorations. All this at a fairly decent price. Check the photos to see these creations. They are Delectable Eye Candy Sushi.

***second visit*** Experience was better for lunch. Ordered 3 rolls for 2 people. Still a little spendy at $50 for 2 people. But, both of us were full and satisfied. The rolls were actually excellent. Spider Roll and Angel Roll were very good. I would recommend rolls over sashimi dishes. Still don't know why you have to pay extra for salad and miso soup. Also, I do like they are open on Sundays for lunch and dinner. Most Japanese restaurants are closed on Sundays. ***first visit*** Overall, I was not impressed with this place. It does fit well with the rest of the restaurants at Progress Ridge. Expensive, but average food. It's about 20% more than other Japanese restaurants. This place would better fit in the Pearl in terms of price. Here in Beaverton...you are going to have to lower your prices if you are going to keep your clientele. $27 for one person and I'm still hungry. I do admit the sashimi was fresh and high grade. Just didn't do it for me. The biggest part that bothers me is that Korean owned Japanese restaurants always add their flare to it. I don't think that's right when you are trying to be a Japanese restaurant. Kim Chee ain't Japanese!!! No miso soup or salad with your entrees. C'mon! Lower your price and add the basics that you expect from a Japanese restaurant, then you would have a 5 star restaurant. Ikenohana, and Shoten are still my Beaverton favorites.

My friends and I had lunch outside one day. It was my first time trying it. We all assorted sushi and nigiri, I ordered a bento box. The sushi was decent, the salad was OK, the bento box was alright too. The lunch time prices are pretty good. I would have ordered a beer but I kind of have a problem with paying $3.50 for a domestic bottle or $4 for an import. Its just too high. ESPECIALLY when you have the Growlerie right next door and you can get a pint of craft beer for the same price or less. Thats a mistake right there for Nikki sushi. I have other sushi places that I prefer but I am a sushi snob. The average person who has sushi maybe a few times a year will be fine with this place.

It's our 1st Japanese sushi that we have found in 7 years to compete with San Francisco and Bay Area sushi. It's definitely worth many more return visits.

Who needs Street Cred? I often go with the rule in dining that if somewhere claims they can do multiple style of cuisine, they usually do neither well. They have a very extensive and creative sushi menu, and at the same time they have menu items like Pesto Chicken and Sweet and Sour chicken. Kind of ruins a place's street cred. The sushi is on the spendy side. Good sushi is. I am not going to drop $100 for two people for sushi unless maybe it is served on the belly of a naked woman. So for my purposes, it didn't really work. However, the rolls were very creative and beautifully presented. The rice was not too vinegary, but it definitely had some flavor and texture. In fairness, value aside, probably some of the better sushi I've had. We were satisfied with our meal. You could do much worse value wise. Very attentive service too. He had some good recommendations for us. I was really hoping the other menu items were reasonable so I could fill my belly with something other than sushi. The way over priced other menu items are why it gets a 3 and not a 4.

Went here on a first date and was very impressed with the great quality of the sashimi. I always order uni and it was very good here.

Great place! Cute atmosphere. Food display is beautiful and presented in an artistic manner. Everything we had was delicious and satisfying. We ordered across the board and left full and happy. Will definitely be our new neighborhood dinner spot!

My family and I live close and we frequent this place often. We like the ambiance, but that is just the beginning. The food is always phenomenal and fresh. This place is awesome for kids. They have kids options on the menu, go with the kids hibachi. The staff is friendly and always positively interacts with my kids. You can't go wrong with this place. It is not listed on the menu, but go with the lobster roll.

Went here before a movie at Progress Ridge. $14 for sub-standard chicken teriyaki yakisoba. Had to go out after the movie to forget this underwhelming food. Maybe the sushi is better? Too bad I won't be returning.

I ate there yesterday for the first time. I had absolutely no issues with this restaurant. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the service was fast, and the food was good. Everything was prepared perfectly -- from the sushi to the dessert -- and I look forward to eating there again in the future. Also, the beef is grass fed and organic. I gave it four stars because it is a bit on the expensive side, even for a Japanese restaurant.

First time and was recommended by a co-worker. Prices were about $3 too high for each roll. Having to pay per slice of sushi is not cheap or right either. $6 for two pieces of tuna. The sushi is good but I don't think I will return because of the prices. Plus $2 to deep fry tampura any roll come on no one charges that. Four rolls should not equal $55.

Amazing food!! I had the hibachi salmon. My wife had a philly roll and asparagus roll. We split the yummy yummy roll. Great service and presentation was awesome! We will probably become regulars here.

It's overpriced for what it is. Service is decent but not great. The first time I went here I was happy with the server, but this time the girl who waited on us appeared to know nothing about the menu and less about sushi. Restaurants need to educate their staff on what they're serving. This girl may as well have been working at Denny's. I had a variety of nigiri and all were good but not great. Also the rice did not hold up well. My husband, who I would describe as knowledgeable and selective about his sushi, had several different rolls and nigiri and was thoroughly 'meh' about all of it. Also, he said the sake did not taste fresh. For an entree I got the marinated sea bass which I also had the first time I came here and liked so well I ordered it again, but this time it was a little overcooked and the sauce was not as flavorful. So, some inconsistency there. Also, for a $25 entree I feel the accompanying salad should be something better than a bowl of iceberg lettuce. Not worth the calories in the dressing. With so many other options I doubt we would bother going back.

We've been here 5-6 times. Love it! Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. If you're not in to sushi, the hibachi is excellent. Large Sake selection too. The servers have very good knowledge of the menu and the sake selection. The bartenders know how to make a Manhatten and a Dirty Martini. Of course, the sushi is fantastic here! Perfect walking distance from home. Recommended!

Went there on Saturday for lunch at around noon. After being seated and given our menu, spent a couple of minutes absorbing the whole menu and deciding our options. We decided on a couple of items from their lunch menu, then proceeded to order them only to be told that they only serve dinner items all day on the weekends. Nothing special about their sushi rolls, you can get the same for much lower price elsewhere.

Booooooo!! Yup they charge you 20 bux for a role with FAKE CRAB. Yes, they also tell you they are giving you a lobster roll and it is crayfish and when you point it out they say they ran out. I love my sushi and I am sooooooo disappointed after waiting since last fall to eat there that they let me down HARD. Apologetic? NO. They said "crab is always imitation" -- well then - don't charge me crab price when you are giving me Krab. I get a REAL CRAB roll downtown at Sakura for 10 bux... why are you charging me 18 for the same role with fake crab. Booooo..... boooooo... I guess they are cutting corners already .. replacing lobster with shrimp and crayfish and Crab with Krab. Booooooooooo! Sniff sniff. I am actually quite sad -- I REALLY was looking forward to having an awesome sushi place in my neighborhood.

Love this place. My girlfriend and I come her often and always get the Hibachi Shrimp Lunch Special with miso soup and a Volcano Roll. Plenty of food for two, lots of great flavors and priced well for the quality. I must emphasize how delicious the Volcano Roll is...hardly "sushi" but, wow. Huge menu with plenty of choices for both sushi lovers and the squeamish. Good drink menu too. If you're expecting Sushi Hana/Sushi Boat prices, stay away. If you want quality dishes with an actual dining experience, spend $30 between you and your mate. You won't be disappointed.

Mostly good news here and a little bad news. What do you want first? Right. I always want the bad news first too. OK here goes. The service was disorganized. Took forever to get my sake and beer (as in 25 mins) and though we ordered Miso soup, it also took forever to get there. Finally we ordered a Filet Hibachi and it didn't arrive until we were almost finished eating. So why the four stars you ask? Well, the food all tasted really good. Really good. The Sushi rolls were big and fresh and plentiful and the chicken and steak hibachis were very tasty with large portions. The atmosphere is also really nice. I think this is a fairly new place and wasn't expecting such a large turnout the night before Thanksgiving. Plus the waiter bought me a drink because the food was late and they were all really nice. I can put up with mistakes as long as the staff owns them and tries to make things right. Some good friends told me they come here and the service is usually much better. I will give them a pass this time. I think you'll enjoy this place. The price is not cheap, but steak and sushi restaurants are usually pretty pricey. For my wife and two kids, plus me (I'm the only drinker in the family) we spent close to 100 bucks.

Been to this place several times and the fish is always fresh....Sushi is a little pricey as you only get one piece per order but the rolls are good!

I wanted to write a brief update. This place has improved lately. The fish is really of excellent quality. The sushi we had here tonight I would compare to any of the better Portland sushi, such as Yama in the Pearl, or Bamboo in SE. We walked away very very impressed and will start coming here more often. I do wish they had a better sake selection however.

This place has really improved since the last time we visited. We had the chef's selection of sushi for two and the fish was excellent and fresh. The rolls were also very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Love this addition to our Progress Ridge neighborhood!

For so many employees standing around, service was if'ffy. Sushi presentation was better than taste. Tempura crumbs in all the rolls overpower what should be the subtle taste of fresh fish.

I have had better sushi for less coin. The location next to Cinetopia is a big plus though if you don't feel like doing the dine in option and grabbing some sushi instead though.

We went here on a lunch date. It's a really nice restaurant and we were seated next to a window overlooking the pond. Great date ambiance, although the big screens in the bar seemed to contrast against the overhead classical music. The restaurant itself is a little small, so be prepared to wait if you go during a busy dinner service. However, they do take reservations for any time of day. Our waitress was on top of everything and very friendly and knowledgable. I ordered California Rolls and my husband ordered the sushi combo and a rainbow roll. Let me tell ya, that's a LOT of food. I should have only ordered one California roll, not two. There are eight pieces in an order. More food than two could eat. It's a little spendy, but the portions are huge. The food was really good, and my husband claims it rivals Syun Izakaya. We'll have to go again, just to be sure. :o)

Four of us went here last night for a birthday celebration and we weren't disappointed! The food was amazing and the service was superb. We ordered a variety of their handmade rolls as well as their hibachi chicken dinner. All of us loved the food. Before our meals arrived we had the seaweed salad, which was presented beautifully and full of flavor with sesame oil dressing, along with the miso soup which tasted divine. The ambiance is more upscale than your typical sushi place, but the prices weren't much different. The best part is that they offer many Japanese choices for palates that might like their fish cooked and/or uncooked. We'll be going back.

Monday is my Friday. My workweek wasn't great, so last night after dropping hub at hapkido, I decided to treat myself to the new sushi place. I tried to go a few weeks ago, but it was still under construction. I took a seat at the shiny new sushi bar, and wound up with a miso soup and a roll called "The Pink Lady". It comes with spicy sauce. I asked the waitress how spicy it was- I don't like spicy food- and she convinced me to try it. The presentation was pretty- my roll had a cucumber in the shape of a flower on one side, a real flower on the other. I didn't consider the sauce spicy, but rather it was flavorful. The roll itself was very tasty and fresh. Shortly after eating the heck out of this deliciousness, I was handed a bill at which I spent about 5 seconds staring, wondering if the numbers had been inverted. Nope, it actually belonged to the couple next to me! We laughed because it was funny, and I was relieved. I wish I could've seen the look on my face! Overall, a good time was had. I think this is a good place for date night, even if it's just a date with yourself.

If presentation is the name of the game, then they do it right here. The quality of food isn't anything extraordinary but it sure does look nice. The prices are pretty average for sushi.

We were absolutely surprised at this place. We happened to be in the neighborhood and visited this place for a quick lunch, that turned into an excellent dining experience. The decor and the interior is excellent. Its a fusion between trendy and classy :). But, the highlight was the customer service. I was extremely satisfied with the service. We ordered, pan fried seafood Gyoza, which we loved. It was freshly made and had a distinct seafood flavor. Then we ordered a Bento box and a combination of Alaskan roll and spicy tuna roll. The Bento box was excellent. It came with plenty of fresh salad, I loved the way the food was garnished. I would love to visit this place soon.

I really wanted to like this place due to the location. The atmosphere is nice, service was good too, but the sushi... such a huge disappointment. The prices suggest that they are using high quality fish, but trust me it's NOT. And, the menu doesn't distinguish between real crab and fake crab, so you think you're getting real crab - nope - it's all fake. Again, really wanted to have a good neighborhood sushi restaurant but we will be driving to find something lots better (that probably costs less too!).

Beware! I got food poisoning from this place. I found out they use the same prep station (meaning the same cutting surface and knives) to prep their raw beef as they do their raw fish! How did I find this out? They gave me raw beef at the sushi bar without informing me of what it was! I bit into it thinking it was tuna, then spit out most of it into my napkin because it didn't taste right. When I asked the sushi chef what it was, since I didn't order it, he told me it was raw beef. I haven't had meat in 45 years. And to give me RAW BEEF at a SUSHI bar?! Why?! If that wasn't bad enough, when I told the chef and the waiter what they did they laughed. Apparently making me ill was very entertaining for them. I would NEVER go to this restaurant again, especially now that I know that ALL of their raw fish is contaminated with raw beef. How have they not been shut down? I was so pissed I left, turned around and came marching back in to speak with a manager. But there was no manager on site. On a Saturday night? No supervision? So I let the sushi chef know that I didn't appreciate being given raw beef at a sushi bar. I came in and sat at a sushi bar, not a steak house. I didn't order beef because I don't eat it. To give it to me without my knowledge is wrong and very dangerous. And then to laugh at me when I run to puke it up? WTF is WRONG with you people?! Never again. Sadistic kids run that place. And it is flat-out unsanitary. It should be shut down. Google the parasites you get from raw beef. If you eat sushi at this place, you get cow parasites as a bonus. Disgusting! :Q

The food is wonderful and our server was great, but I'll never go back. We were five adults and three children (ages 6 and 8), and it took well over an hour from the time we ordered to the time our food arrived. I felt bad for our server who kept apologizing for the kitchen staff. And the restaurant wasnt even full. There's no excuse for such poor service, and my family will not be going back.

This place is always good, We have never had a bad meal there... My girlfriend and I walk over there at least once a week to enjoy dinner. Prices are not cheap but i would consider a good value. Staff is friendly personable and helpful. Their specials are always a good opportunity to try something we would never look twice at. would highly recommend.

My husband and I went there for a date night. We were greeted and shown to a seat, we thanked them...and then upon ordering my husband was refused service when we ordered a hot sake to share. We thought it was a joke...the waitress told us I could have it, but my husband was being refused service by the manager. We had just sat down. Within a few seconds, the manager...whom my husband actually orders from nearly daily for takeout had surmised he was unfit to be served. We had not even been drinking, there was no unusual behavior, nothing. I asked them to clarify what we did wrong and they refused to give us ONE coherent answer, just that he "seemed different today" and refused to give him a drink. There was literally NOTHING out of the ordinary in his behavior, in fact we were really tired from a day spent outside in the sun, we were just looking to share a good meal. We did nothing wrong. It was bizarre and disrespectful to say the least. I was shocked....so we left. They lost out business. I wish we had been given a solid answer, or even an apology. I don't understand. My husband spends a good amount of money there monthly on takeout and he always tips really well too. He was flabbergasted. We don't understand how this could happen when we've been supporting the business and have done nothing out of line.
