Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I go here about once a week for a quick breakfast. They are super quick with what I order and have the sweetest girls working there. Very polite and professional. I get a Swiss cheese bagel toasted with butter for 2.25 (.75 extra cuz it's a premium bagel) overall I love this place. Only thing I would change is they should stay open until 4 so I can go in after school.

I got a blueberry muffin and my boyfriend got a cheesecake muffin (I believe that's what he ended up picking) I loved my muffin it was perfectly moist and not dry, my boyfriend loves his muffin. We are definitely coming back for more muffins and next to try the bagels. I would definitely recommend this place for the muffins and as a great place to meet up with friends and family for a quick bite to catch up.

I came in today for some muffins and will be coming back. I loved the mini muffins. Great customer service too!

Nice little cafe next to the Fred Meyer Walker Road. Lots of delicious pastries in the case. Service was timely and friendly. I would go back for lunch or a sweet. I had a single bagel with it toasted and bit of cream cheese-it hit the spot. Although, for 2.39 it was a little pricey for what I got. Happy to support a small, friendly business. Couple older folks in there chatting over coffee.

My bagel (jalapeño cheddar with plain cream cheese) was DELICIOUS! The lady that helped me was very nice and even went to the back to get me a paper clip! I definitely recommend this little bagel and muffin shop!

The Bagels were great, nice and freindly sstaff.

I finally stopped in and had a pretty darn good turkey sandwich on a parmesan bagel. The bagel was nicely chewy without being tough. I have no idea if that is NY style or what, and I really don't care. It's a damn good bagel. The sandwich is pretty slippery and messy, and in my clumsy pawing of the damn thing I knocked off a lot of the parmesan cheese. Next time I'll try the cheddar bagel as it looks more baked-in than topped-with, as the parmesan is. Eh on the chocolate cheese mini muffin. It was fine, but I should have gone with the chocolate chip, my first instinct. I'll definitely be back to try again.

I wanted to find a place other than crummy Einsteins or a grocery store bakery bagel. It's thus far the closest thing to a NY Bagel. They BOIL them and put the toppings on the proper way. There's a good chew to the bagel and offers up the taste I was hoping for. It's a dense dough so it's not full of air pockets or chews like a regular piece of bread. My family origin is out of NY and I can assure you to find a decent Bagel place out here on the West is like a miracle and this was the closest yet. I would take heed to my review if I was any of you searching for a decent bagel. It is a little on the spendy side for certain items but not over the top out of this world, so I would suggest the bakers dozen for $10.99. They have punch cards as well, so if you find yourself frequently here, this could be a great way to save yet give them repeat business. I would also suggest getting your cream cheese at the grocery store right there. They offer early morning breakfast specials that differ every day M-F too. I drove out of my way to find this place and will do it again next time I come back to town. Oh..their muffins looked pretty good too, but I'm not a muffin kind of gal and will stick to bagels only. :)

Who cares about New York bagels? Smug ass hipsters, that's who. This spot has been my jam for awhile now and I've tried most of the bagels on the menu but my favorite is the jalapeño cheddar with bacon egg and cheese. I've been late to work several times because I can't start my day off without my bagel sandwich breakfast no matter how behind schedule I am. I might get fired soon but I don't care, it's worth it.

I purchased a mini chocolate and cheese muffin which was very good. The coffee on the other hand was less than great. It was lukewarm and had barely any taste of coffee. Originally I ordered a vanilla latte but I was told that all they have is drip coffee. If you offer only regular coffee it should at least taste like coffee and not some warm dark water. Will not be back!

  • Amy L.

After tasting the bagels here I decided I not a fan of their bagels. Tasted more like bread instead of chewy NY style bagels I'm use to. I also tried the pumpkin macaroons. They had more sugar flavor than pumpkin flavor, yuck...never again.... I would come here to try their mini muffins. They were dense and a bit too sweet for my preference.

Making their own bagels & muffins, this place is a must-visit in the West side of the metro area. Great for both a quick breakfast and lunch.

Without fail my husband and I go here every Saturday. To the point where they know our orders and even remember my husbands annoying request for "no tomatoes" on his bagel sandwich. The amazing muffins tempt me from their display case every visit, but i ALWAYS get the Parmesan bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. Soooooo good. Savory, but not too strong. My husband always gets Jalapeno cheddar and cream cheese, or a club sandwich on the same bagel. We usually treat ourselves to a mini muffin, and let me say that they are ALL good, but lemon crumb is my usual. In the last 2 weeks they have begun making Fruity pebbles mini muffins... I SHIZ YOU NOT, they are SOOO good! A little fruity taste, delicious vanilla muffin and a slight crisp from the "pebbles".... I URGE you to go visit and try one of these little babies. They said they will only make them if people order them - and i NEED these to stay around

So I just moved to Portland from Reno, NV, and Reno has a My Favorite Muffin (well 3 actually). Nothing compares to their California St. location. Nothing. We regard it as "magical muffinland" even though we really only get the bagels. But OMGosh the bagels!! Upon moving here I was told that Noah's was the best bagels. Well, this morning I walked in and realized that Noah's=Einstein's=terrible; so I walked out. Then the heavens open up and poured light onto my google maps and directed me to My Favorite Muffin in Beaverton. Honestly, the BEST bagels. Their everything bagel is perfection, and I just had the candied pumpkin bagel which was divine. It's not as good as the Reno location, but hey, we can't all be winners. I'm just stoked they're here!

  • Shannon R.

What's not to love about My Favorite Muffin? The bagels are so much better then Noah's, and Noah's doesn't have muffins! When Favorite Muffin is even mentioned I turn into one of Pavlov's dogs, salivating all over the place. Yum! OK, I thought of something that I don't love about My Favorite Muffin. The hours they are open. I think they close pretty early, AND they are closed on Sundays! WTH!!!!

when my husband and I arrived back in Portland from Turkey we had serious jet lag (that's what a ten hour time difference will do to you). how did we cope? go out to breakfast before dropping my husband off at work (for 7:00 a.m.) and then trying to head back to sleep. en route to his office, we stumbled upon My Favorite Muffin. I frequent the Fred Meyer next store, but never thought to stop in here. their bagels are the best I've had in some time and the staff is super frendly (even for 5:30 in the morning). still need to go back and try a muffin (they all look amazing!) but for now, it's the perfect place to go when you have a bagel craving. my only complaint (and the reason I took away a star) is because they aren't open on Sunday. growing up, this was bagel time for my family, so it is disappointing that when we have said craving on Sunday we have to go elsewhere.

I've been here a couple of times to grab a quick lunch and have tried a combo of things from here. Overall, your best bets are the bagel sandwiches and muffins (especially the lemon pound cake like ones). The salads were pretty plain, though. Keep with the sandwiches and muffins and you'll be good!

Muffins were awesome! I bought a pumpkin cheese, lemon crumb, and coconut creme one! They were moist and tasty and had filling in the middle!!! Even after leaving them in the fridge a day, they were awesome to eat! Definitely MY favorite muffin!!!

So I had the pleasure of stopping here on my way to work earlier today. Needless to say I didn't have time to make anything for breakfast at my place and I had over heard some co-workers talking about this place so I figured why not? So I get there and immediately my first impression is of an old style diner, but I think it was the early AM lighting. As I stroll up to the several shelves of muffins and bagels I see that their selection is not of the average selection you normally find. As in not for the people looking for a healthy quick muffin to munch on while you head to the office. I must add, anyone who has ever had a crazy idea of mixing Cheese Cake and Muffin in their life- go here! Short on cash I was only able to snag a few French Toast Bagels and a couple Apple Pie Muffins. After I polished off my first bagel there was no more room to sample the others right away. Filling to say the least. I was able to take down my apple pie muffin and I was kind of bummed out. Not that it was bad, not at all. I guess my expectation of an apple pie muffin would taste more like a strudel- It seemed really cakey for a muffin and a bit bland. If I had more cash at hand I would have snagged hand fulls of their mini muffins. To guess I want to say there were probably up to 8 or 9 different styles of mini muffins, and about up to 20 different styles of bagels and muffins each. For ten bucks I wasn't disappointed in getting 4 pastries, a couple cans of soda and a giant cup of coffee. Next time I'll try not to be in such a rush, so to better look their menu over. Needless to say, if you're short on time and in the neighborhood it's definitely worth stopping in and trying anything. I was a bit surprised that at 7:30 in the morning there were only four other people sitting. Must be a little secret a few people keep?

Heard about this place from some co-workers. Rarely eat here unless I just happen to be passing by, but their bagel sandwiches are definitely the best. Bagels are always nice and soft!

Today i found a gem that is so wonderful i can't help but love it more that it's on the westside and not in portland where you snobs are! you know who you are always talking trash about what's out here! What do they have? The best dam muffin in the whole universe! if you don't believe me then i will bring you one and prove it to you! If you feel you have a better one, then you buy me yours and i'll put it up against this one and we'll see you succumb to my powers.. uh i mean the muffin's powers. ok enough joking around, so i had the rasberry crumb and the cherry cheesecake muffin. You definately know they didn't over stir the batter here being how it's so airy. the sweetened cream cheese i had with it wasn't overbearing sweet but just a nice compliment. So if you're reading this and i'm not on your friend's list, sorry i'm not bringing you one. The rest of the portland yelpers, if we're meeting up let me know i'll bring you a muffin.

They are the best. Call ahead for large orders. Family owned and fabulous muffins and bagels! Mini muffins are great for groups. Sandwiches available too and made to order!

They deliver these to our office every week. I can say that the they've been consistent for the past 10 years. The problem is they're under cooked and the inside of the bagel is almost doughy. You can't toast it enough get rid of that. We have nick-named the muffins as "lead muffins". I have never had another muffin as heavy as MFM. Eat one for breakfast and you don't have to eat lunch. I'm not kidding.

I've eaten a ton of bagels in my lifetime and there is no denying that they have the best and freshest bagels in America

  • Linda M.

Yum, yum, yum!! The first couple of times I visited I tried various types of muffins. I do have to admit they are good muffins. But once I tried their bagels, I've been hooked ever since. The bagels are SO good, just chewy enough and so fresh and delicious. I especially love the bagel sandwiches, both for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast bagel sandwiches come with egg and/or cheese and/or meat, all in just the right proportion. So delicious I can't say enough. And the lunch bagel sandwiches are just as delicious. Whether it's the turkey with the spicy spread or the vegetarian, every one I've had is absolutely scrumptious. And it's just an added bonus that they serve the lunch bagel sandwiches with a crunchy pickle and a little mini-muffin for "dessert". They serve lunch sandwiches on regular bread, too, but those aren't nearly as good. The bagels MAKE the sandwiches!!! The only thing I would change would be for them to open on Sundays1

This is my favorite muffin and bagel place. They make my bagels the way I like it; soft and chewy or lightly toasted with the outside crispy and chewy in the inside. Oh, I love their cream cheese. My favorite is the strawberry cream cheese. I usually tell them to not put too much cream cheese on my bagels because they tend to load the cream cheese high on your bagels. I love their mini muffins. It's always soft even when I'm so busy and I don't get a chance to eat until lunch time. The service here is excellent. They are always smiling and have a friendly tone in their voice. Waking up with that service in the morning makes my day happy;don't need the coffee..hehehe... I highly recommend this place for on the go breakfast.

Gotta say their lemon muffin with lemon frosting. SOOOO gooooood. Their sandwiches are not worth the money however, I could go right into fredmeyers buy a loaf of bread and meat and make it my self, and probably cheaper too. Nice little hidden place. I like it.

Love love love it here! Amazing bagels -- the egg bagel is my favorite, but my cousin loves the jalapeño! The muffins are also awesome -- chocolate cheese is the best, but the raspberry crumb and poppyseed are also super good. The people who work here are always friendly, and the prices are GREAT -- under $5 for a bagel and a coffee. I make it a priority to visit at least once whenever I'm in town. Love these guys. :)

This place not only has the best bagels & pastries in Beaverton but the customer service rocks! I used to visit this place all the time when I lived in the area. But I can't remember the last time I went since I moved. I walked in & Jadelle greeted me with such enthusiasm, she let me gush about how excited I was to be getting a yummy sandwich & delicious mini muffins again (it really takes very little to excite me) & she was so jovial she literally sang along with Nat King Cole's L.O.V.E as she made my sandwich. Too damn cute. I already love My Favorite Muffin for the stupidly delicious EVERYTHING THEY SERVE. But to witness Jadelle's joy & her awesome customer service makes me want to make the trek to come out here more often. I was already in a good mood & now I'm in an even better one. And I still have mini muffins I get to eat. Yay.

I searched for a coffee place on Yelp, while I was on 158 th Ave. This shop came on the search, so I was so exited for the good reviews for what I seems a good muffin. Unfortunately , I got so disappointed with the taste ...I give them full stars for the customer service :), but not for the taste I got a chocolate marble , and cream cheese Marion berry , and both were plain tasting :(

Waited literally 10 minutes w not one of the four employees saying a word to us. We were at the counter ready to order. Apparently their previous orders took president over saying "I'll be right with you"...completely rude.

  • Alia Z.

Always satisfied when I come here. They have a perfect selection of different sweet or savory bagels always baked fresh not hard and old like other places. The staff is super friendly no matter who I encounter. Great place to go for breakfast or lunch.

If a person eats at a restaurant and leaves without saying anything but calls later and threatens to write a bad yelp review if they don't refund his charge.....is that a FREE LUNCH SCAM, or did they not like their lunch??????

This place is great.... I always seem to go when it is busy, but of course that is a great sign and still get pretty great service. Bagels are my fave, but that is just because I love bagels.

Great place to pick up bagels or muffins to bring into the office for your co-workers. Lots of selection and some even fat free muffins that taste good. Sandwiches can be hit or miss. Lunch waits can be long so come prepared for that. Their lunches come with a pickle and a mini-muffin of your choice on the side for around $6. Great place to grab a bagel as it is the closet place in the area. Blueberry bagels are the best in my opinion. Coffee Cake muffins are delicious.

  • Janet M.

still a 3.5 I went in here this morning to pick up mini muffins for a meeting. They are cute little muffins, $7 and some change for 13 of them, in a variety of flavors. They didn't have ALL their flavors this morning, but enough of a variety ( chocolate cream cheese, chocolate chip, raspberry, coffee cake, lemon... poppyseed). They're low fat and trans fat free and they were a hit. If you get the tiny ones you can feel good about yourself while just having a little sweet bite, you know? They have their cafe nicely set up for outdoor eating right now, with several tables and big plants and flowers outside, which is really lovely. They also have a huge sign for Hawaiian Shaved Ice, which I am willing to try ( although I am skeptical it won't taste like the stuff in Maui, or even the place my college roommate worked at in Tempe AZ)... my daughter won't know if it's the real deal or not, right? I would still advise you get your coffee elsewhere but for bagels and muffins this is a good spot.

Let's talk about the namesake.... The muffins. They are incredibly good. People had brought them into work and I picked some up this past week to return the favor. The muffins that they do offer are wonderful. Now the bad news... They are crazy expensive and the flavors they offer are predictable.

Went in here during lunch break as there aren't too many options by me. Got a sesame bagel sandwich with turkey, mozz, tomatoes, balsamic and lettuce/tomato. Let's just say I should've known by taking a look at their bagels that I shouldn't have ordered. The bagels aren't crusty on the outside at all, but they all have a pale color to them and they look like soft rolls that weren't fully cooked. Visually alone they're unappetizing. But I was hungry so I ordered. The fixings themselves were ok, but if you're going to put "bagel" in your cafe name, please make at least good bagels. I haven't found a bagel that compares to NYC bagels, but Franz bagels you get at the supermarket are wayyyyy better. Also I got a free mini-muffin to my surprise with my sandwich. Again, do not put the word "muffin" in your cafe's name if you can't churn out good muffins. Being a pastry school graduate and someone who bakes almost every weekend, these were really bad. At least the lemon crumb one I had - utterly tasteless, the only thing tasted was sugar. This place needs a little tutorial on how to make good muffins and even better bagels.

    (1)
  • Alison M.

What a pleasant surprise. I had a Drs appointment close, and looked on my Yelp app for a bagel & cream cheese. I got a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese, a house coffee and a bakers dozen of mini muffins. It set me back about $11. The bagel was tasty with plenty of cream cheese. I just had a mini lemon muffin and it was great. If I find myself in the area again, I will be back.

For delicious carbs, yes - this place is fine. Their bagel sandwiches are good (not great) and their muffins are yummy. The one thing the irks me EVERY time I'm there is the customer service. I don't recall ever having 'good' service there. They had 4-5 employees behind the counter while i was there and I waited five minutes just to ask for a fork (which I gave up on and used my hands instead). All in all, mediocre. Don't expect much more.

  • Brett P.

It took a trip to NYC for me to remember how fantastic this place is. I always hear New Yorkers bragging about their....well everything, but especially about their bagels. I went to one of the highest rated shops in the city and was massively disappointed. The plus side is that eating that bagel reminded me of the best bagels I have ever tasted. And it sure wasn't in NY. I never would have thought that a little place in Oregon suburbia would make the finest bagels I've had anywhere in the country, but they do. The bagels have the perfect chew on the outside and heavenly doughy goodness in the middle. Honestly, I can't even explain how much I love these damn things. I had forced myself to forget about them because I live in LA and thinking about their greatness only made me mad I couldn't have one. The second I took a bite of that mediocre NY bagel though, the memories of these sweet, fluffy, fresh bagels came rushing back to me. My Favorite Muffin & Bagel Cafe, you really are my favorite muffin and bagel cafe. Please open a location in LA so I can rid myself of this bagel separation anxiety that plagues my soul!

**STAR RATING BASED ON SERVICE NOT FOOD** Normally I frequent this place for a sun- dried bagel with pesto cream cheese. Use my debit card and swipe away my purchase. Never have had an issue until I dealt with an older lady, who was clearly not having a good day. She first of all after taking my order I hand her my card to pay like i typically do. She looks at me and says" it needs to be a purchase of 3,00 to run the card." I have never had this before, I have been here now at least 10 times and never once was told this, nor was there any signage saying this. So Instead of saying "umm that's odd, I wounder how that was done." and going on with it. Instead she as snarky as can be said "well, its always been that way." If it wasn't for the fact that I really like the bagels there i would have walked out right then and there never to return. Needless to say I am now on the look out for a different near bu bagel place. Now the food. I will say is good. Really good. However if I'm paying almost 3 bucks for a bagel, I want to be treated as if I actually matter as a customer.

waited about 15 minutes in line, got two bagels and the mini muffins. with the name my favorite muffin and bagel café... I expected better. My bagel needed to be toasted twice. the muffins. eh. not so tasty. but hey it filled my belly. the staff was friendly and they smiled. it stayed busy as we waited for the rain to stop and chatted for over an hour.

Delicious little pastry shop! Case full of pastries. One case had danish, turnovers, scones, and about 20 different flavors of jumbo muffins, and 8 flavors of little bite sized mini muffins. Not to mention about 15 different flavors of bagels. They also have salads, soups, and sandwiches to die for. Oh.... I did I mention shave ice? About 20 different flavors for your shave ice. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend coming in and giving it a try! I had the chipotle turkey on a toasted jalapeño bagel for lunch yesterday, and it was the best sandwich ever! I don't know what that other reviewer Mike G is talking about, but it didn't have any clear gel stuff on it. I followed lunch up with a bubble gum/dreamsycle shave ice for dessert that was amazing.

Anyone who gives this place less then 5 stars needs to get punched in the stomach. This family owned establishment makes everything fresh daily and runs like a well oiled machine! I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and 2 medium coffees for 6$!! I would've payed 6$ for half that! One bagel even had specialty garlic and herb (delicious) cream cheese which costs extra. When reading the reviews someone mention they pile the cream cheese on and they ask for them to put less. While reading it I smirked and thought to myself what a wus that person had to be to ask for LESS or something so yummy but I found myself taking some off because they put it on so generously. They have muffins both regular and mini size. They also have deals on random days. I 100% plan on going to this place regularly. It's super cheap, quick, and fn' good.

Best muffins in town. If you want to know why, you're going to have to try them. What do you look for in a muffin? Great flavors, fresh ingredients, moist batter? Yup. This place is it.

  • Julie M.

I thought this would be your typical bagel place, but it really isn't. It's a cut above the chain icky-ness of Noah's or Einsteins. This place has muffins that will make you sigh. I had a Coconut Cream and Blueberry Muffin (for the next morning) and was sufficiently impressed by both. Why has it taken me so long to find this place? It's 2 miles from my home. Yeah, I'm avoiding carbs, but this is where I'm going for breakfast on my down days.

  • Sharon M.

I usually eat lunch at My Favorite Muffin when I go to Fred Meyer's to shop. My favorite sandwich is the Happy Pilgrim, and I usually share it with my husband. We like it best on the buttermilk bread, and then we get two mini muffins to eat along with the sandwich. Which muffin to get is always a hard choice..........chocolate chip? Pumpkin cream cheese? Lemon crumb? Can you see my dilemma? They are all good, but sometimes you are in the mood for chocolate over other flavors. I usually get two muffins o go for breakfast the next day. Today my husband got poppy seed and I got pumpkin, since it is pumpkin season. Can't wait till tomorrow to eat them. So many choices. Yum yum yum

This is my favorite bagel place hands down. I cannot resist their cinnamon toast bagels with their honey cinnamon cream cheese. If you are a cinnamon fan get it - you WILL thank me. Their sandwiches are pretty incredible as well and you can get them on whatever bagel you like. A personal favorite is their California sandwich on a Parmesan bagel - very messy but pretty amazing. I always get so excited too that their sandwiches come with a mini muffin. I so love the raspberry crumble! This is a place that is perfect for catering as well. If you want to make your co workers very happy order a mini muffin and bagel assortment from here with some flavored cream cheeses - guaranteed not to disappoint!

they don't toast their bagels.. what bagel shop doesn't toast bagels? WTF?? when i asked she said, their toaster isn't very efficient and if she tried to toast it, it would catch on fire. WTF. terrible. from four to one star.. bagels themselves were good after i took them home and toasted them myself and the cream cheese was okay. one star though, better not have a bagel shop if you can't toast your damn bagels.

Finally got a chance to stop in here and I'm glad I did! Cool place, cool location, we had bagel sammiches and they were good, came with a very good mini muffin and a fresh pickle. This is where we will be getting our fresh bagels from now on. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the sammiches are good but about a buck overpriced. Tip if you come in on Mondays you can get 13 bagels for 8 bucks!

Great little place - Amazing muffins - Killer bagels - wonderful atmosphere and great service. COMPLETELY CLEAN - this is my family's favorite place for breakfast. We enjoy the food as much as all the customers who come to nosh. Everyone is polite and happy to be there. I love the sandwiches they make on the bagels. My favorite is the turkey - bacon and lettuce on a cheddar bagel. Their mini muffins are the perfect size for a reasonable treat (to stay on the diet and yet feel like you treated yourself) and wonderful size for the kids. AAA+++

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I stopped by today to get stocked up on Bagels and decided to eat lunch while I was there. I had the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo and it was delish! It came with my choice of a mini muffin. The soup was Cheddar Broccoli, my personal favorite and it was the perfect combo of cheese and broccoli, the sandwich was fresh made and yummy. The bowl of soup is a generous serving. I may be back tomorrow!

Sesame seed bagel with garden vegetable cream cheese. This is what I dream of all week until I finally go to My Favorite Muffin. It's always fresh, chewy and soft. The vegetable flavor of the cream cheese....(I feel like Homer, drooling and slowly repeating "Cream Cheese") The shop is always clean and the people who work there are always friendly. I got a box of mini muffins recently for my friends and upon opening the box, they all understood my fascination with this place. Every flavor is yummy but the chocolate with cream cheese is the best!

An absolute hit!! Don't take this quaint location lightly. Traffic is heavy and runs the gamut from retirees to kids on their way to school. The assortment is always fresh and to be honest, quite possibly the closest you may get to a New York style bagel in the state! Yeah, I know it may be an exaggeration but from what I have experienced so far cannot compare. The "Everything" bagel could use a little more everything but the offering there isn't too shabby either. The staples are great, Egg, Plain, Cinnamon Raisin but the specialty / seasonal bagels are always delectable as well. Lunch options are bountiful and they offer the choice of traditional sandwich breads or even, you guessed it, a bagel!! The nice part about their lunch sandwiches is they're packaged with a mini muffin; for free! The mini muffins..... my palette waters and my stomach growls as I type. If you choose not to indulge in anything here do yourself a favor and make your inner-child happy by indulging your sweet-tooth. I can almost guarantee you will not be able to restrain yourself to simply one free mini! Shakespeare once asked, "If a rose by any other name would be as sweet?" the absolute holds the same for "My Favorite Muffin." If it is all in a name, the downside is false advertising. Muffin is not a collective noun and to suggest there is simply one that is my favorite is an injustice. So allow me to campaign for an adjustment or amendment to the name from its current to MY FAVORITE MUFFINS & BAGELS CAFE!

This place makes the best bagel in the area. Seriously, the saddest part of moving out of the suburbs was putting so much distance between me and these glorious, chewy, flavorful bagels. And egg bagels! My favorite and seemingly so often forgotten. I could easily zip over to Kettleman and get a good bagel, sure, but if you're going to do a hunk of carbs, you got to do it right. Do yourself a favor, go get a dozen (or several), indulge, freeze the rest (the freeze super well) or just shame eat them all, I won't judge. Bonus points - try the also tasty muffins and/or throw in a couple of their delicious cream cheeses.

My boss brought in a box of their mini muffins this morning and they were excellent!!! Super moist and just flat out delicious. I had never been to this place before, but now I'm definitely going to hit it up if I am ever in need of a muffin fix.

Please don't punch me in the stomach, fellow reviewer, because I can't really give this place more than three stars. First the good stuff -- and the place offers LOTS of good stuff. My cinnamon-raisin bagels were some of the best I've ever had -- approaching the chewy goodness of H&H New York bagels. The mini raspberry muffins are buttery with a bright burst of raspberry, and the mini cinnamon muffins have a rich, dense streusel-like filling that is heaven with a cup of strong coffee. All the muffins seem to use the same root recipe -- a yummy poundcake that would be tasty on its own, but starts to get boring when it's used for every muffin on the menu. And there's the problem. I ordered a variety, but you'd never know it in a blind taste test. The poppy seed didn't have lemon or almond flavor ... it tasted like plain pound cake. The coconut cream had a nice chewy top, but mostly it tasted like plain pound cake. Same with the large cinnamon, etc. So what I thought was a great muffin discovery turned out to be kind of a disappointment. I'm still searching for the best muffin in Portland.

Oh wow, scrumptious bagels and muffins...I only wish they were open Sundays(I'd think this would be the busiest day for them). Mild green chili cream cheese FTW!!

Great place for fresh bakery type sandwiches. They have just about every type of muffin you can think of including "mini muffins" Seating is a little crammed at times, the staff is usually pretty helpful.

Truly awesome. Great customer service! Tasty bagels and tasty muffins (haven't done lunch yet, but I can't wait.) We ordered a couple toasted bagels with cream cheese and delicious coffee for breakfast and some muffins for later. All were an absolute hit with the half dozen people who ate the stuff. And, we're all pretty picky and border on 'foodie'. Thanks to then entire staff for caring enough to do a great job! I can't wait for my lunch.
