Lil' B recommended that I get the Saigon special bahn mi (ham, headcheese, pate) but I always want chicken. He warned me that I do this every time and every time I'm disappointed with the chicken. I did it anyway. And he was right. But it was covered in so much delicious mayo that it masked the dry and blandness of the chicken. So it was pretty good! Aside from the right amount of mayo, the bread was toasted, light and crunchy, there was plenty of pickled vegetables and cilantro on it. I just need to remember that white meat chicken rules the land of Oregon. The pho broth was tasty and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The broth was lighter than I like but the flavors were present and I'm starting to appreciate more subtle broths. The beef cuts were tender and the tripe actually tasted like stomach, whereas most places tend to have bland tripe. They have Vietnamese hot coffee with condensed milk on the menu but they only had the iced one on hand. I'm not sure if it was Vietnamese coffee style because it wasn't intensely strong and it came out of a coffee maker. Not to say one can't make super concentrated coffee from one. I'm just saying I didn't have a coffee buzz, only a sugar high. The service was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is in a shopping center with Plaid Pantry. It used to be a taco joint chain. It seems that they either kept a lot of the old decorations or they purposely put in a grass umbrella and giant photos of palm trees. I loved the cute hokey decor! Of course we sat under the umbrella even though there were 3 of us. I liked the pho, wasn't thrilled about the chicken in my bahn mi but everything around the chicken was awesome. I caught one of the workers bringing out a noodle plate with grilled beef. It was a lot of food but it looked OK. I'll be happy to stop by if I'm in the area but I think I'll be checking out other places on Noodle Soup Sunday.

Although there's tons of places to get your Pho fix, this place rises above the rest. The owner is very friendly and the food is authentic. Recently had lunch at Mai Pho with a friend and we both raved about it. Really clean place, fair prices, super friendly staff and owner. The only drawback is the hidden location. Take my advice, worth tracking this place down.

I have been spying the reviews and biding my time until they had been open for awhile and worked any kinks out. Today we stopped by for lunch and all I can say is WOW. The best damn Pho I have ever had. I tried the Crab Puffs as recommended and they were excellent, my husband is not a fan normally but these were delicious, and they had actual crab in them, YUM!. He ate three! I ordered the Ground Pork and Shrimp Pho and the combination was delicious. The broth is rich and flavorful and bright. I have never seen this at any other Pho Restaurant. Hubby ordered the Mai Pho Special with a bunch of stuff in it, stuff I don't eat. He loved it and thought it was very delicious. I was dying to try the Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls but I was so full already, the wonderful owner let me sample one and just like everything else on the menu it was outstanding and the filling was fresh and crunchy. I can't wait to get a full order next time. The owner is a sweet lady and we had a chance to chat, she was involved in a fire at her old food cart and that is one of the reasons she chose to open a brick and mortar Restaurant, she is still recovering. We were a bit worried about the parking situation but when you actually pull into the lot there are plenty of parking spots. I cannot wait to go back. She uses organic meats and veggies and even has a Vegan broth for you crazy ass Vegans!

The best Vietnamese food, the pho taste just like the pure, fresh and well seasoned pho from Vietnam. The banh Mi is ridiculously good, and the pork plate with lemongrass.

Super yummy! No MSG! Yay:) Chicken and vegetable potsticker noodle bowl with vegetarian broth was amazing! The broth is so good! Friendly and quick service at 8:30 pm.

So far so good!! Service is a little slow but worth the wait. Plus they are super friendly. Cleaner than most other pho joints we've been to, and very reasonable prices. I ordered the rare pho and added veggies. The broth was delish!! Loved it with the added (standard) veggies: broccoli cauliflower carrot cabbage. Hubs got the lemongrass pork. Pretty good! Love how it's sliced instead of a big slab that you have to cut up. Did I mention the pho broth was heaven???? Definitely coming back!!!

Very nice owner and I love the style of the place, sort of a tropical asian theme. Everything was very fresh and tasty although the broth is sometimes really salty (something I have never had a problem with at other pho places). They also have a very simple menu with only a few style options for the pho, weather you care depends on how many odd meats you like in your pho, it's not quite a tradition pho spot that way. The boba in the boba drinks was not so good (undercooked) but the drink was tasty none the less (I had the coconut). They are so nice and the place has a family friendly fun style makes it nice to be there although the pho is a bit overrated.

I'm going to give this 5 stars because (of course) I went there for the Pho and I was not disappointed. (Why is Pho sooo perfect when youre fighting off a cold?) In fact..... I think this is the best Pho I've had outside of Portland and contends with my top 3 of all time. It's all about the broth, obviously, and the broth is just great...... The owner (or whomever was behind the counter when I walked in) was pleasant and welcoming. We also had the salad rolls which were yummy....I passed up the bubble tea and I'm not sure why. Next time I'll get the taro bubble tea, oh yes I will!

Great Pho, perfect for any day. Staff is very nice. Definitely recommend the crab puffs, Rare beef and the lemongrass chicken bowl!

First time here, pretty cute little place. Hidden in a small plaza. We started off with lemongrass chicken salad rolls which they served with warm peanut sauce...(yummy) we ordered the rare beef noodle soup.. Very large bowl and good flavor!! Oh and don't forget the Thai ice tea.(the best I've ever had) coming back!!! Next time I will probably just order a couple salad rolls and a large Thai ice tea!!

  • Melody L.

Not the best atmosphere and the food was mediocre. The best part of this visit was the boba tea. I loved the boba but it took forever to get that and then even longer for our food. My dish (lemongrass chicken) looked like something you got at an airport cafe but my husbands pho was pretty good. The broth was good but a little too salty for my taste. My husband liked it. Very warm and friendly staff. The decor was fun and a little kitschy. Nice place but probably won't go out of my way to visit again.

  • Carol N.

Absolutely disappointed. I went because of all the good review and got the special pho bowl. Words cannot express how disappointed I was. The broth was completely tasteless and I wanted to cry. It was not remotely close to good. Probably won't go back again.

I've had Phó all over North America, this is the best so far!! And too top it off they have vegan Phó!! It's also the best I've ever had! the staff and the owner are so incredibly sweet, I can't wait to go back again and again, I'm averaging a meal there every other week currently.

As a huge fan of all things pho this was the closest pho near my current location (winterhawks skating center to watch checking for charity tournament). I read the reviews on yelp and thought this would be a good choice. The reviews are correct. Food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The only issue I encountered is difficulty in actually finding the place which is located in the back corner. This was my own fault as I didn't trust google machine maps :). If you like all things pho you won't be disappointed

  • Tony S.

Not your traditional pho. More of a beef noodle soup, missing the aromatics of pho, but good nonetheless.

  • Christopher A.

I do enjoy this place, and it is within walking distance, so that is a plus. It doesn't get 5 stars because a lot of the menu is not great. The pho, is excellent, 5 stars. The rice dishes? 2/3 stars. The ban mi? 3 stars. So, the reality is, great pho, but I would drive to get anything else. I hope they stay, and perhaps improve though! The site they took is kinda cursed...

When my favorite Pho lady left downtown and I found her cart deserted, I was deeply saddened. After a long day at work, I needed comfort food so we decided to try the new pho place out by us and it turns out my favorite Pho lady had decided to open a restaurant! The pho was even better than I remembered it, especially because it's in a bowl instead of a to go container. Their Bahn Mi and potstickers are delicious. The staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive. Obviously, I'll be back!! :)

Love this place! Everything we got was amazing and the Lady helping us was enjoyable and terrific at her job! Fully Satisfied every time I've been and I will definitely be going back again soon!

After my go-to pho restaurant close mysteriously... I am searching the beaverton area for its replacement. Mai Pho (translated: Beautiful Pho) showed great promise. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall on SW Allen and Scholls Ferry, Mai Pho is not as noticeable from the road. I suspect the shop was once a hawaiian joint, due to it's decor. You order up front at the counter. The cashier was chatty and a little random. Their menus was small but had good choices: rice plates, pho and Banh Mi sandwiches. I went straight to their pho special: steak, tendon, tripe, and meatballs @ $8.95. They had only one size and then a kid's size for 12 y-o and younger. The broth was tasty but seemed more salty then beefy. the tendon, tripe, meatballs and steak were tender. What made this a 3 star instead of a 2 star was it's prized chili paste found on each table. Dark red, thick and pasty, it will not win any beauty pageants, but it's favor is dynamic! I chatted w the owner about how much i loved the paste which she told me was made up of a mixture of ginger, chili, lemongrass, 5 spice and star anise. This explains the dark coloring as the latter two are brown red and ginger can turn tan color. I added one heaping teaspoon into my pho and the broth was transformed. Fear not, it wasn't that spicy (no more then one teaspoon of sriracha minus the salt.) I asked if the owner would sell me a jar but she shook her head; she special orders the paste and can not sell it. If you are around this area, stop by. It's nice to help good businesses with a good product that they love. I will go back to try their ground pork and shrimp soup (and that chili paste!) yum.

I LOVE Mai Pho. I eat there or take out at least once a month, and the food is consistently delicious. The salad rolls are so fresh, the rice paper perfectly soft. The lemongrass beef noodle salad is so flavorful. So far, I haven't had a single disappointment. And the owners are so kind and sweet.

  • Jessica P.

Went in because I saw a lot of good reviews, and hey we're absolutely not true. The pho had no taste and the peanut sauce tastes just like peanut butter heated up. The bubble tea isn't good either, the tapioca pearls were hard

  • Justin c.

Only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because it's a little more expensive than other pho places buuut the pho is really amazing here and the lady is extremely nice. The salad rolls are good too! I've been here a couple of times now and I will definitely come back!

    (4)
  • Heather C.

Vegan pho?! Yes. The service is great, place is clean and the cooks are super accommodating. We ordered a dish that is generally served with fish sauce but they made us a veganized fish sauce! The pho broth could be better but it's pretty hard to find vegan-friendly pho anywhere, let alone the burbs! They're reasonably priced too, definitely check this place out for lunch or dinner :-)

Never eat pho here! I don't know if the chief even know how to cook it! It's the worst pho I ate in my LIFE!

Just had dinner here tonight, and I was very impressed with the food! My husband and I both got Pho (Mai Pho for me, and Chicken for him), and both our broths were really flavorful and delicious. It definitely hit the spot! The spring salad rolls with the fresh peanut sauce were both really yummy as well. And of course, you can't get Pho and not get bubble teas. They were tasty and I liked how they were not too sweet. We also really enjoyed the owners that were there - really nice, sweet, hardworking people. They were attentive and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food. It's great to have a local Pho place, we're so happy they're here! We might make this a weekly stop! Nom Nom!

01/15 4:00 Not a round trip. Like Jennifer "ho hum". Pho special ingredients: rare beef, well done beef, bone beef, meat ball, tripe, tendon. I cant say I saw any 'rare beef or tendon. The what you might visually describe as a meat ball was cut in half and wasn't something I could have ever described with my EYES OPEN ....lol Flavor over whelmed with scallions and onions. Super nice is good but not good enough to bring me back. Probably the best this neighborhood can get. Go to Oregon PHO on 82nd or CHOW CHOW food cart on SW 3rd.

  • Chris S.

Once you get past the interesting characters out front and into the almost Hawaiian themed restaurant you are welcomed by friendly staff, and generally, an empty restaurant. Some pretty amazing tasting Pho, and at a good price. Great apathaizers too :-) Only reason this is not 5 stars is because of the sauces they gave us. The brown 'hoisin' and the sriracha sauce were spot on, but the 'chili' sauce, or whatever it was, was unpleasant.

Ordered the pho special, crab puffs, and a taro tea. Everything was perfect. Good value for delicious food. Wonderful staff and a unique and welcoming ambience. I know I will be back!

I went here for lunch with my husband. It was our first time trying Vietnamese food, and it wasn't bad at all. We like their Pho (classic or special) for cold winter days. Will be coming again for sure!!

  • Miz C.

usually pho is quick to get to the table, this place took over 25 mins! that being said, i didnt really mind the wait, but the broth was so bland! it really left me wondering what took so long. but, alas, in terms of proximity i was led here, and im not 100% opposed to coming back. the restaurant itself is clean and cute.

  • Lisa C.

I've been here twice, once eating in with coworkers and once to pick up takeout to eat back at my office. The lemongrass pork rice plate is very tasty. The pho was a little large and overwhelming for me, but for anybody who doesn't have a tiny appetite it will be a perfect lunch (and, even for those with a small appetite, it makes for good leftovers). My old lunch standby used to be the Burgerville across the street, but I feel so much less guilty eating at Mai Pho rather than eating french fries and burgers all the time.

    (5)
  • Sean M.

Overrated.... I had a pork banh mi and was underwhelmed. Sandwich was dry and took 15+ minutes to arrive. It was quite edible once I soaked it in sriracha and hoisin sauce. Mothers ginger chicken and rice was completely bland, unseasoned, and lame. The house hot tea is really good. Staff was nice :) I probably won't be back.

So glad I re-discovered Mai Pho. Like other reviewers, I loved her downtown cart for the past few years and kept going back looking to see if it would return. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled on to to this review and realized this was my favorite Vietnamese cart-now-a-restaurant - and not far from home! Everything here is carefully prepared and the flavors so evenly balanced. Our group had a couple different pho preparations (meatball, tofu), the lemongrass chicken noodle salad (my favorite from the cart), and a delicious sausage banh mi. In short, a delicious and satisfying Vietnamese comfort food experience on a chilly fall night - perfect!

Crab puffs are amazing, the salad rolls are delicious, and the beef pho is very flavorful. My husband and I have definitely found a new Pho place. Next time we will try the bahn mi.

BEST CRAB PUFFS EVER! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff. Pho is amazing, as well as lemongrass chicken. But seriously...the crab puffs!! Don't miss them!

  • S S.

Delicious. Also, really clean and friendly. The location isn't the best -- in an old strip shopping center next to a Pizza Hut. The inside has been painted and decorated in a tropical way that makes it seem fresh.

  • Ja A.

Just ok. Pho was a little uneven across our four dishes. Don't order the bubble tea. Mine arrived unblended with inch long chunks of ice and no flavoring. AND they didn't have any of the bubble tea straws big enough to suck up the "bubbles". When I asked if they had some sort of camera pointed at us trying capture us trying suck up the "bubbles" with a regular sized straw our waiter laughed and brought us long handled metal spoons. Just say you don't have the straws and we will order something else! Go elsewhere! This place will do if you have to go here, but better pho is not that far away.

After seeing all 5 star review we got really excited and we went there for lunch. The place was empty, the only guy that was eating there happened to be one of there staff, as we figured out later after he got up and headed back to the kitchen. We placed our order, and I asked not to put peanuts in my daughter bowl. Not very hard to remember, right? Considering we were the only customers... Yes, her dish had peanuts! Luckily it's not an allergy issue, just a strong dislike, and my daughter is not a complainer. But what if it was allergy, they didn't know it. The iced tea I ordered arrived after our meal was finished. You'd think the waiter could've figured it out and put it in the to go cup (he saw we were done), but he didn't. I had to point out that we're done and I need it to go. I was still hoping that he would be decent enough not to charge for it, but he did. The reason why I gave this place 3 stars because the food was good, although I'm baffled that everybody gave such high ratings, maybe some family members are boosting them. Also I must add that their menu is not nearly as amazing as some of the pho places off se 82. But mostly our not so stellar experience was attributed to the poor waiting job, the guy honestly had no clue.

Fast and friendly service with very delicious Vietnamese food. I had the Rare Beef Pho and my girlfriend had the Lemongrass Chicken Noodle Salad; both were very tasty and full of fresh items. We also had the Salad Rolls which came with a good supply of delicious Peanut Sauce. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience.

The crab puffs and pot stickers were very good! We got a chicken sandwich, but we were a bit disappointed it didn't have any cilantro-definitely seemed like it was just short of great. Service is very good!

My favorite food cart has become a real restaurant! I've tried Pho all over the Portland metro area, and this place is my favorite by a long shot. I have to stop by at least weekly for my soup fix. Their other menu items, salads, appetizers, everything are equally as fantastic. They have vegetarian and vegan items on the menu, so there's something for just about everybody. I'm looking forward to trying their Bánh mì menu additions, especially the tofu one, during a future visit. Love this place.

She went from a food cart to a restaurant and needs some more practice at the restaurant part. She forgot parts of our order and food came out one at a time and took a long time despite being only us and one other person. The food is only ok. I will say we didn't get the pho but the crab puffs a sandwich rice dish and noodle dish. Nothing special like most all other Vietnamese restaurants. I think pho van in Beaverton near the fred Meyer is better.

So glad to make it to Nary's Mai Pho today. We loved her cart downtown. Literally everything ever ordered there was of high quality, well prepared and delicious. It has translated directly to her restaurant. I could not break away from my favorite of hers...Pho with chicken in a beef broth. Her chicken is tender chicken breast and the broth is absolutely delicious. We are to be come regulars!

  • Ron Y.

Pho's broth was excellent. And my family has eaten at majority of Portland's Pho scenes. Rich dish can be a little more generous on the meat side. But the Pho was really good. Just the right taste, not over powering like some very commercial joints. At the same time enough "density" of taste from bones and herbs that not one drop of broth was left on my bowl.

I looked up "vegetarian Pho" on yelp because that's what I was craving on that cold, rainy, Oregon day. I came upon this restaurant and decided to try it out. I showed up and the place was pretty empty. I wasn't impressed with the decor which reminded me of a Taco Del Mar. I ordered the vegetarian pho with vegan broth and OMG it changed my life! You think vegan broth would be bland or not very tasty, WRONG! Tons of flavor and totally affordable for a bowl the size of my head. At $8 I had a ton of leftovers. Heathy Delicious Affordable

I frequent this spot often when I'm feeling the need for pho. The staff is always friendly, the food is great and certainly reasonably priced. They've got options for everyone including vegetarian and vegan options as well. I typically order the Rare Beef pho, only $8.00 and always tastes great. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxing lunch spot.

  • Jesse H.

Fast, friendly , easy, delicious pho. Service was great. The waitress was friendly and seemed to know some of the "regulars," which creates a comfortable local vibe. The rare beef is worth stopping by for and the broth is strong and tasty. They also offer vegan broth which I think really sets this place apart. It feels like a Hawaiian plate lunch place that got painted like a Mexican restaurant. Primary colors everywhere, grass roof umbrellas with paper lanterns and paintings of Palm trees and Chinese fans on the walls. And, of course, reggae coming through the somewhat impressive sound system. The culturally confusing is maybe not for some but I liked it. This place is straight up convenient. It's right down the road from where I work on creekside which is somewhat of a "restaurant desert," in that there's nothing but chains and mediocre strip mall teriyaki restaurants around. All in all, I'll most definitely be back.

  • Todd P.

The pho was fantastic! This was my inaugural sampling of pho: and the verdict is, to steal a phrase from Hook, bangarang. The broth clearly makes the dish. I was so preoccupied spooning as much into my mouth as possible that I forgot all about the rice noodles and vegetables that accompanied my enormous serving. For $8.00 you get a meal there and enough leftovers to have a second meal at home. If you're smart enough to walk into a Vietnamese restaurant, you certainly don't require my first-time observations, but just in case: order the pho. I also got the crab puffs and shrimp spring rolls. The crab puffs were good but nothing great. As far as the spring rolls go, I wouldn't order them again; long on cheap vegetable fillers and short on shrimp.

My wife and I ate lunch here, she has the ginger chicken plate and I had the beef pho. We were both pleasantly surprised with the meal and appreciate the reviews of our fellow yelpers. Her ginger chicken had an excellent flavor as it lives up to its name and description. My beef pho was phenomenal I added nothing to the broth seasoning wise, it came out of the kitchen perfect. Fresh ingredients were the key! Service was excellent and friendly we will definitely be returning!

  • Kristin J.

When we found this gem, we knew we'd be regulars. When I became a vegetarian, I kind of knew eating Pho would happen no longer. Most Pho places offer a tofu option, but it comes with beef broth, which defeats the purpose. Mai Pho has a vegan broth option which is to die for. The tofu is firm, the veggies cooked to just the right temperature and it always comes out fast! The woman who owns Mai Pho is incredibly nice. She may be one of my favorite reasons for returning.

  • Leah W.

I came in for the vegan pho and I left not sure if what I ate was actually vegan. I pulled out some small pieces from my soup that looked pretty meat like, and the taste of the broth didn't sit right with me. Maybe they misheard me when I ordered, because there is an option for it to come with beef broth. Die hard vegetarians and vegans, please be aware. Also, mine didn't come with the plate of herbs and bean sprouts and goodies that usually accompany pho, so I just asked for some lime wedges and figured they didn't do that for whatever reason. But then I saw another customer get her pho and she got a plate full of goodies? So maybe it just doesn't come with the vegetarian pho? Strange. Won't be coming back even if I did live closer.

I was craving PHO when visiting my friend in Oregon..It was cold and rainy and the soup just sounded delish. believe it or not, there is a huge Vietnamese base in Oregon..so their pho has to be legit.. I was not mistaken. Upon entering, its not crowded during the lunch time (one pt Oregon). The decor is some hawaiian themed, coconut and palm tree thing. The lady at the front was nice, cause we werent sure if we were to order at the front or have a seat. we must of looked liked newbies cause she sat us and told us what was their specials. We ordered the crab Rangoons..omg I could of had a plate of those myself. And I got the traditional rare beef pho. The soup was on point, didn't feel like the chemical of MSG going down my throat. The size is smaller that the ones here in the Bay, but they rival in taste. Some other guy next to use had some lemongrass chicken and it smelled soooo good.. I would of ordered me some, but i was full. was hoping the guy would leave some on his plate so I could go steal some...JK!!! I would not do that...errr..anyways he ate every last morsel of goodness...should i lick the plate? haha jkjkj again. Anyways it was a great find and a great lunch date! will be back again some day!

Interesting first experience here. We ordered a bowl of meatball pho and the grilled lemongrass pork dish. Both great, came out quick, friendly staff. Few minutes after eating, this man starts saying "Excuse me, can you change the music? I've heard this song like 6 times now. It's won't stop repeating!" In his defense, the song was on repeat- we didn't realize it until he brought it up. A few of us looked at each other and chuckled. Not sure what the staff said back but the song never changed. Hah. As the man was leaving he turns around and walks out humming to the song and mocking it to the staff as he exits. Thanks to that guy we had a good laugh over lunch. And the food was good. ;)

TO GO ORDER: Maybe it helps that this place is minutes from my house but I keep coming back for more of their pho special. Love the taste of their broth and the bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeno are always fresh. I tried their pork eggrolls once but when I got them home, they were dripping in oil so I probably will not get them again. They were just too greasy. I've also had their taro bubble tea. It was ok. Seemed a little light on the flavor and some of the pearls were a little on the tough side. But I do love that pho!

Saw that there was a pho place close to where I work so I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out Mai pho is a gem that has really really really good pho. I'm now a regular and am always greeted by the incredibly friendly staff. Simply put Mai pho is delicious

I was very impressed by Mai Pho. We ordered two of the Mai Pho specials and the crab puffs. The food was very tasty and we went home with a lot of leftover soup. Not to mention the people at the restaurant are very nice. I will definitely go back!

This place has fantastic pho and is reasonably priced. The service was a bit confusing and the drink machine was a but strangely placed, but that could have just been my fault. Will certainly be back for more soon!

This is a generous 3 star review, it was actually closer to a 2 star experience. I'll start with the cliche "I really wanted to like this place". I really did. The reviews were good, a new local, independently run business... I had high hopes. I called in my order of Chicken pho, salad rolls, chicken teriyaki with yaki soba noodles, and pot stickers, and was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes. The place was dead when I went in to pick up my take out at 6:15 on a Saturday night. Not a single customer. My food was ready right on time. There was one woman doing all the cooking and also working the counter. She seemed very sweet! So the food: The pho was pretty good. The teriyaki had way too much sauce, I mean it was swimming. The Pot Stickers were hard, and seemed to be made with sub par ingredients. The salad rolls were super bland, also hard with sub par ingredients. The only thing that we ended up eating much of was the pho, otherwise the rest unfortunately got tossed, and we never toss out food. I don't think we'll be making a return visit.

First thing to note on our first visit to Mai Pho was how wonderful the woman who owns the restaurant was- she was kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Totally invested in our enjoyment of our experience. We had the lemongrass pork salad rolls. The pork was delicious, iceberg lettuce was refreshing, and the peanut sauce was good and had a coconut flavor. The wrappers were a little tough and chewy but good and they were rolled a little too loose. I had the beef pho with rare beef. It was great. Rich and flavorful broth. My favorite pho in town is Pho Hung but I would say that Mai Pho gives them a run for their money. Mai Pho's beef is really good quality. Thinly sliced, tender, and flavorful. I prefer pho with more broth. Next time I go (there will be many next times :) ) I will ask for the beef broth, no beef and light on the noodles. I also got a hot Vietnamese coffee and it was delish. The owner said that anything she could do- more broth, no noodles- no problem! She was awesome. The energy in the place was really great.

Had the 'Mai Pho' special. The broth soup was excellent but deficient in meat portions. Service is friendly and feel of home kitchen is positive.

Best dinner ~ so tasty and fresh! Have been meaning to go and just hadn't. Kicking myself now all the delicious dinners we could have had. My husband declared he would go back anytime which is a rare statement! Personal friendly service with fantastic eye popping color scheme. Will be back soon.

First time using Yelp app to try this restaurant. I order the Mai pho special. The broth is a bit on the salty side, that's ok for me, but the reason I gave it a 2 stars is because the well done beef is not fresh, and the quantity and quality of the meats are sub par. I wouldn't come back again to this restaurant

    (2)

    (5)

Not your traditional pho. More of a beef noodle soup, missing the aromatics of pho, but good nonetheless.

Vegan pho?!

The brown 'hoisin' and the sriracha sauce were spot on, but the 'chili' sauce, or whatever it was, was unpleasant.

usually pho is quick to get to the table, this place took over 25 mins! that being said, i didnt really mind the wait, but the broth was so bland! it really left me wondering what took so long. but, alas, in terms of proximity i was led here, and im not 100% opposed to coming back. the restaurant itself is clean and cute.

Delicious. Also, really clean and friendly. The location isn't the best -- in an old strip shopping center next to a Pizza Hut. The inside has been painted and decorated in a tropical way that makes it seem fresh.

This place is good good good! Went with 3 people and we all loved it. Staff was lovely, restaurant was clean and food was so delicious we almost died. So what more could you ask for? Go there and eat well. Cheers my fellow Yelpers!

Excellent and fresh lemongrass pork noodle salad. Balanced mix of ingredients and perfect sauce - not too sweet. Will definitely be back soon!

Excellent pho! Broth was well-balanced and delightful, portions were good, service was excellent, Vietnamese iced coffee was great. Atmosphere is super cute. Highly recommended!

Fresh ingredients, great flavor! New owners just opened a few weeks ago after running a successful food cart in downtown Portland. Convenient location with parking. Try the fresh noodle salads- healthy and packed with good ingredients.

Nom Nom!

Saw that there was a pho place close to where I work so I thought I'd give it a try. Turns out Mai pho is a gem that has really really really good pho. I'm now a regular and am always greeted by the incredibly friendly staff. Simply put Mai pho is delicious

    (4)
  • Kristin J.

When we found this gem, we knew we'd be regulars. When I became a vegetarian, I kind of knew eating Pho would happen no longer. Most Pho places offer a tofu option, but it comes with beef broth, which defeats the purpose. Mai Pho has a vegan broth option which is to die for. The tofu is firm, the veggies cooked to just the right temperature and it always comes out fast! The woman who owns Mai Pho is incredibly nice. She may be one of my favorite reasons for returning.

    (5)

Had the 'Mai Pho' special. The broth soup was excellent but deficient in meat portions. Service is friendly and feel of home kitchen is positive.

    (3)
  • Jim W.

    (2)
  • Chris O.

Not your traditional pho. More of a beef noodle soup, missing the aromatics of pho, but good nonetheless.

I was very impressed by Mai Pho. We ordered two of the Mai Pho specials and the crab puffs. The food was very tasty and we went home with a lot of leftover soup. Not to mention the people at the restaurant are very nice. I will definitely go back!

And the food was good. ;)

    (4)
  • Christopher A.

I do enjoy this place, and it is within walking distance, so that is a plus. It doesn't get 5 stars because a lot of the menu is not great. The pho, is excellent, 5 stars. The rice dishes? 2/3 stars. The ban mi? 3 stars. So, the reality is, great pho, but I would drive to get anything else. I hope they stay, and perhaps improve though! The site they took is kinda cursed...

The brown 'hoisin' and the sriracha sauce were spot on, but the 'chili' sauce, or whatever it was, was unpleasant.

usually pho is quick to get to the table, this place took over 25 mins! that being said, i didnt really mind the wait, but the broth was so bland! it really left me wondering what took so long. but, alas, in terms of proximity i was led here, and im not 100% opposed to coming back. the restaurant itself is clean and cute.

  • Raven S.

The crab puffs and pot stickers were very good! We got a chicken sandwich, but we were a bit disappointed it didn't have any cilantro-definitely seemed like it was just short of great. Service is very good!

Great place, had a delicious vegan pho here. The other foods looked delicious as well. Next time I will have the vegetarian banh mi along with my pho. Yum, drool!

BEST CRAB PUFFS EVER! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff. Pho is amazing, as well as lemongrass chicken. But seriously...the crab puffs!! Don't miss them!

Delicious. Also, really clean and friendly. The location isn't the best -- in an old strip shopping center next to a Pizza Hut. The inside has been painted and decorated in a tropical way that makes it seem fresh.

Stopped in for lunch and had the pho and the lemongrass chicken noodle salad. Both were great. And the service was even better. Awesome restaurant! We will be back.

Sweet atmosphere and an even sweeter owner/chef you always makes you feel welcomed! If you are looking for great Vietnamese food in SW, go there... The noodle salads are awesome! Actually, everything we've tried is awesome!

This place is good good good! Went with 3 people and we all loved it. Staff was lovely, restaurant was clean and food was so delicious we almost died. So what more could you ask for? Go there and eat well. Cheers my fellow Yelpers!

Fresh ingredients, great flavor! New owners just opened a few weeks ago after running a successful food cart in downtown Portland. Convenient location with parking. Try the fresh noodle salads- healthy and packed with good ingredients.
