This qualifies as a hidden gem! The food is excellent. I had curry and chicken satay that were the best I've had in Beaverton. We also ordered wonton soup (I know it's a Thai restaurant) but it's the best I've had since moving to Oregon ten years ago! The service was great. They are family-owned, very friendly, and went out of their way to make us happy. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that it was a little rundown and the staff were watching a little TV in the dining area. They never ignored us and they were always quick when we wanted something, but it did not help the atmosphere.

This restaurant is tucked behind some buildings, but worth your time to take an extra look and locate this place. Fantastic prices and delicious food. I've had lunch here a couple of times and have not been disappointed. They are fast and friendly and even delivers! Really enjoyed my curry and noodles. Will be trying other menu items the next time I stop in.

Great place to eat the spicy noodles are good and my favorite is the beef fried rice.

Hidden gem, don't let location fool you. Great Thai food and service. It's too bad this place isn't in a better location for their exposure. We went there for dinner last night and it was us and one other table. I heard the owner mention about 70% of their business is take-out. So if you are wanting a busy type atmosphere like PF Chang's, it isn't for you.

We love that they deliver and fast! The food is super fresh and flavorful. We usually order curry but my favorite thing on the menu is the hand crafted wonton soup. It makes me feel good on a rainy day.

I really wish I could give this place a higher rating. It's family run and the people are so dang friendly. I have to agree with previous reviewers that the noodle dishes all had a fishy and the pad thai was honestly inedible. The noodles were a weird orange/pink color from the sauce and it had a totally bizarre aftertaste that I just could not get past. That being said the curry dishes and the chicken satay were delicious and well seasoned.

I was really disappointed with Kaow Thai Cuisine. I work nearby on Jenkins (no, not at Nike...) and stopped in to make up for another bad Thai experience I had recently. I ordered the pineapple fried rice. It came with a generous amount of pineapple and chicken - but the chicken strips were dry and overcooked, and uneven sizes; some were thick, some were thin, and there was a lot of gristle left on most pieces. The worst part about it is that none of the ingredients were fresh. They were using frozen carrots and peas - you know, the kind your Mom made you eat wit dinner when you were 5 years old? Their online menu indicates it will come with snow peas. These were frozen peas and carrots. The pineapple was definitely straight out of a can. The only fresh ingredient they used were green onions and shaved carrot on top. The overall flavor was disappointingly bland. It definitely didn't need salt added, as it already had that - it lacked flavor. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't even mediocre. If you're going to charge me $11 for fried rice I could make at home with frozen vegetables, I'll just go to the grocery store instead.

My wife and I love this place. Family run, grandma in the kitchen, kids watching TV, and delicious food. Their papaya salad is among the best I've ever had and soups and noodles are very good too. But best of all, it is very tasty, very affordable, and very friendly.

My family has been eating here since 2006. My daughters have grown up eating here. The food and service has always been amazing. We bring friends and everyone is always pleased with what they order. We love the pad Thai and the pumpkin curry. If you have not been here you need to plan dinner here tonight.

We were strolling down the streets of beaverton, visiting with family and we got pretty hungry and happened to find this hidden gem. I love authentic thai food and thats very hard to find but not here. Everything is reasonably priced, the owners were attentive and informative and most importantly friendly. I had the green curry and they asked how spicy I would like it on a scale of 1-4, I picked 4 because I love my curries spicy and it was amazing. It was truly really spicy but I asked for it and it was amazing! The food was super authentic and both the owners and the chef who im guessing was also the wife/owners were really friendly! As a chef I had a few questions and she happily answered them! Cannot wait to go back and try this place again!

I love this place. The owners here are the best. They are really friendly, and always remember your name. The massaman curry is bomb. get it. The lunch prices are fantastic.

Love the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. Four stars because I wish that there were more appetizers to choose from.

This is the best Thai food in Beaverton with super friendly staff/owners. Sure the decor isn't great but the food and prices make up for it.

We are so happy to have Kaow Thai so close. It has wonderful food, for great prices. Always happy when my staff or I go here!

By far the best pad thai in the area. I love their food. They go out of their way to make my boyfriend's favorite soup that he hasn't found anywhere since he left the east coast. I love their fried rice as well. I haven't tried much else, but the pad thai really is great. The owners are great. The husband runs the dining room and does the delivery. When he goes for delivery, his wife cooks and runs the dining room. It's a very comfortable and real atmosphere every time we go in. I've done their delivery as well and it's always just as delicious and fresh. I will be devastated if they ever have to close their restaurant. My boyfriend and I have had many discussions with the owner, and their story is very touching. It just happens to pay off that their food is very delicious as well. I definitely recommend this one.

Best thai food in town that we have found thus far! Everything we have ordered was delicious! Don't understand why this place doesn't have more stars! You can't go wrong with the Tom yum soup, red curry, and thai basil fried rice.

This is the best Thai food. EVER. We discovered this place seven years ago when searching for perfect Pad Thai. And we found it! They make amazing Pad Thai! We also always get the pumpkin curry, salad rolls, and Thai iced tea. When in season, the mango sticky rice is the perfect end to a delicious meal. Restaurant is family owned, and Guy and Mina go out of their way to make your dining experience perfect. Highly recommend Kaow Thai!!

Hands down the best Thai food in the area. Tried them for the first time in 2008 and every time has been amazing since. When my Dad comes up from southern Oregon it's our first stop! Love the pad Thai, coconut curry is also amazing. When I'm feeling under the weather the spicy basil noodle with tofu clears my sinuses and helps my recovery! Great family owned business, always kind! Delivery is definitely a plus!

4 star rated, inexpensive thai food is what brought me here. The customer service was good, although the server was in a rush, I can understand because the restaurant was busy and they were closing soon. It feels nicer as customers to have the attention and priority. The food is...surprisingly not that good. Our dishes were dry, and the color of the dish was really yellow. The pad Thai sauce was not sweet and sour. The taste wasn't memorable. Tip: improve your dishes. My friend saw how they defrosted their chicken or food and claimed it was near the sink. Possible cross-contamination was what he assumed, but I am not no FDA. The bathroom was not clean. Tip: Keep your restaurant clean. This is what separates a four star to a five star restaurant.

Ordered a delivery and got the House Fried Rice, Lemon Chicken, Fried Wontons, and Salad Rolls. Nothing Spectacular.

This place is so good! We just ate here for the first time, and are so happy with the experience. We ordered the chicken sate, spicy seafood combination, spicy basil leaves eggplant, and chicken pad Thai. Everything was amazing, and Sooo reasonably priced! My boyfriend ordered the spicy seafood combo to be level 4 heat, and it wasn't as hot as he'd like it but the server was happy to bring more hot sauce. The service is quick and friendly and the food is amazing. Can't wait for these leftovers!!

I was perusing Yelp the other day and saw some really good reviews for this place, I have lived in this area my entire life and never knew it existed. I also noticed they deliver, whoo hooo! I placed my order about 6:30 and the Gentleman told me delivery would be about an hour or a little more, that was fine with me, I had a late lunch. Onto the food! I ordered the Tom Kah Kai soup and it was a little thin and watery, not too much flavor. The Fried Won Tons are amazing, light and flavorful I enjoyed them very much, total winner! The last thing I ordered is our favorite, Pad Kee Mao or Drunken Noodles. I order them with the skinny Pad Thai noodle and add Broccoli. Their heat level is 1 thru 4. No one ever gets it even slightly spicy enough for me and my husband, but holy SHIT this was spicy and I ordered a 3 just in case. I was thrilled to say the least. Overall very good and since they deliver to my house which is 4 miles away I will be using them and exploring their menu further.

Been eating here for years. They do the best Chicken Pad Thai ever and the Thai toast and chicken satay are delicious. Would highly recommend to everyone.

I must admit, I have strayed away from Kaow thai a few times in the past, but always find myself coming back, because I am usually left disappointed elsewhere. Whether it's take out, dining in, or delivery they are always so friendly, efficient, and consistent. I honestly appreciate that this is a family run business, children included. It adds the sweetest touch to an already outstanding establishment. Their pad thai is hands down the best one I've found. The flavors are just right, not too much fish sauce and they are courteous enough to not smother the top in peanuts, in case you aren't a fan, and forget to ex them from your order. The spicy fried rice, is so good! It has a pretty good kick to it, so if you don't want a ton of heat, make sure you ask. And the ginger stir fry, yum. Enough said. The flavor is always on point, and not to mention, our bill is usually pretty easy on the pockets as well. Give it a shot. Great food, great value; what more could you ask for?

This is my go to Thai place in the area. Food is really good (I mostly just get Pad Thai....I'm white) and the service is good too. Kind of a hole in the wall place but nothing wrong with that. Lunch special is a great value.

  • Rachel C.

I love that this is a family business, and the service was attentive and gracious. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not as impressive. There are just much better flavor options in the area.

Kaow Thai delivers Free with $15 minimum purchase. I believe it is 2 mile radius. The delivery time can run 45minutes to an hour. The food is a mixed bag, though. You have both Thai and Chinese options. I like their $5.95 lunch specials.

Delicious! I loved the food. I got the bbq chicken and the meat literally fell of off the bones. Lunch prices are unbeatable. 6 bucks for a whole yummy meal. Will defiantly be coming back.

This place has changes names a few times, but the quality and flavors have always been amazing. I've had the house special ( veggies in a broth served with rice), the pad thai, and a number of their curries. It can be a pain in the ass trying to get delivery, and the hours seem to change without warning, but the food is amazing.

I just called this place to order food for delivery at 5:50 pm. They don't close till 10 pm and their website says : " We offer food delivery service on orders over $15.00 and within 3 miles of the restaurant. We charge $2.00 for every mile over 3 miles." I live 3.3 miles away and before I gave her my address she said it's going to be one hour and I said that's fine. Then she got the address and said sorry we don't deliver there mam! I live 3.3 miles and asked her if I pay can I get delivery but she said no! Don't bother ever calling this place.

Really, really friendly owners that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The location is fine (there's parking!) and the prices are low. However, my pad see ew was not very good and tasted almost too salty. I also didn't think there were enough veggies in the dish and the chicken was really dry. I feel bad writing this review because the people were THAT nice, but it has to be said. I was disappointed.

This place gets a reluctant three star review. I'd go higher based on the boyfriend's orgasmic reaction to finding "the best Thai near our new place," adding "that was easy," but his five-star reaction wasn't enough to bump up my overall to a four. The food was fine, but it was nothing special. It was just average Thai food. I had my usual, Pad Se Ew, chicken, medium. The noodles were crunchy in spots, the overall flavor was different, but good, and the chicken was overcooked. Really, it was very average. The service was very good, but the restaurant itself seemed dirty. I'm not a fan of chairs covered in fabric in a public place - it will always seem dirty if it is or not. I'll return if the boyfriend needs his wonderful Pineapple Curry, but I won't be suggesting it. Time to try the next option in the long line of Thai places in Beaverton.

I love this Thai Restaurant. Family owned and they're always cheerful and glad to see me whether it be delivery, take out, or dine in. I usually get the green curry and the spicy basil leaf noodle. Their meats have plenty of texture to them and aren't chewy. The spicing is potent and has a better balance than the other Thai restaurants I've tried in Beaverton. It's quite cheap if you don't get a special ($8) and you can eat off of it twice if you're not ravished. I eat here at least once a week and have grown extremely fond of this restaurant. It is my go-to location for Thai.

My partner and I were in town for business and I was craving Thai. We searched online and yelp and decided on kaow.. We got the pad thai, spicy seafood, chicken fried rice, chicken satay and Thai tea. This is a small family owned restaurant which I appreciate and respect . The good. The spicy seafood was good, large shrimp, mussels and squid with fresh veggies.. Sauce was ok, spice level was perfect. The Thai tea was amazing, a little creamy but perfectly sweet and very enjoyable... The chicken satay was pretty good, esp the peanut sauce. The service was very good. Pricing was nice... Very inexpensive. The bad.. This restaurant serves no alcoholic beverages. The chicken fried rice (and all of the entrees) had a funny flavor (I can only describe it as sausage) maybe fish.. I am not sure but it made it taste less fresh. The ugly.. The pad Thai was barely edible (and I am not that picky!) . It was full of grease or oil and had a really uncomfortable flavor that I can not really describe well. I had one bite and wanted to turn it away... I don,t take these ratings lightly. This is the lowest rating I have ever given and maybe I caught them on an off night... Every restaurant has its specialty items and there were some people waiting for take out so they must have something good to offer. I wouldn'tt risk it again though.

Came here for dinner after being ignored at the place I was at before. The service was prompt and friendly, and I had my food in front of me nice and quick, which is always a plus. The food itself is kind of mediocre, though. It's not bad, and it's pretty inexpensive, but I've definitely had better. They do deliver though, so it seems like a good lunch option for when I'm feeling cheap and lazy.

Everything I've tried here has been DY-NO-MITE! from the Salad Rolls to the soup, the green curry and (my boyfriend's favorite) the Thai BBQ Chicken. SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOO good, and they even deliver!

This place is right down the street from my work, so I was hoping it would be awesome. Sadly, it was not the tastiest, freshest, spiciest Thai I've ever had. Not by a long shot. (Gawd, I miss Spices Thai Kitchen in my old burg!) Nevertheless, the service was friendly and I found the lunch specials reasonably priced. I ordered panang beef. It wasn't like any panang curry I've ever had before. It was more like a soup. It tasted okay, but the meat wasn't very flavorful. The Thai iced tea was tasty. I'll give these folks another try and see if something else on the menu knocks my socks off. Until then, I'm going with a three star rating.

I've tried this place multiple times but can't get over the strange after taste in the pad thai, frozen veggies and brown lettuce in the salad rolls. There are plenty of fantastic thai restaurants around beaverton, unfortunately this isn't one of them. Shame since the owners are some of the nicest people ever!

The food is really awesome here. Spicy Lamb is amazingly great. I also tried curry dish and it's not as sweet as you see at a lot of places. The food itself is 5 stars. However, the environment/facility/service knock off one star. The service from the owner is great, but they are under-staffed.

This is our absolute favorite Thai restaurant. The food is very fresh, the veggies are crisp, everything is flavorful but never oily or fatty. The family is super friendly and they are very sweet. They always take very good care of us and call us by name. I think it is the most authentic Thai food experience in the area.

Stumbled across this place while craving a good basic Pad Thai for lunch. Its a mid-sized place in a dated strip mall. The inside has plenty of seating and I was the only customer at high noon on a Wednesday. (Often times a warning sign for me, but I pressed on.) I opted for one of the daily specials...Spicy Lamb. It was a mix of tender lamb, green beans, zucchini and green bell peppers in a thick curry sauce with a generous side of rice. Pretty good! Quite spicy but not to the point of gratuitous spicy. I noticed the grandma peeking out at me from the kitchen every so often to gauge my approval. Only managed to take care of 3/4 of the bowl before I was stuffed. Whole meal was under $10 bucks.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant with two kids under two at home and was craving some Thai food. This place advertised that they delivered, so after pouring over their yummy-looking menu I called to place my order. The woman on the phone told me they could not do a delivery right now because they had a party of 50 they were serving and asked if I could come pick it up. Now that my mind was set on Thai food, I reluctantly agreed and loaded the two kids up in the car in their jammies. When we got there, the food wasn't ready in the time frame they had quoted me...and their part of 50 was actually twelve people looking very hungry at a large table. The only other diners were a sweet looking couple who were likely on a date - they asked to have their rice as an appetizer since they had been waiting so long. Long story short - the kids and I ended up at DQ. Can't say anything about the food - may be good - no one was eating when I was there...

We originally went looking for Thai Angel, but found that it has been taken over and is now Kaow Thai. It's a little gem in the rough. I agree, it is very family oriented, the kids were watching TV at the front table, very homey. The food was good, all the dishes we ordered were a little different than any we had had before. I would have given a 4 but the service although very friendly was slow. Everyone at our table had their meal except my mother and she waited an additional ten minutes for hers....we were the only ones in the restaurant. Do try their Thai Iced Tea, beautiful and not too sicky sweet like so many others.
