This is my first visit to Firehouse subs on Cedar Hills Drive. Firehouse Subs is another chain sandwich place like Subway, Jimmy Johns and Quiznos and, for that reason, I didn't have high expectations for Firehouse Subs. One thing that sets Firehouse Subs apart from the others is they sure take their theme seriously: the dining area looks like a firehouse with chrome, red paint, fire axes and firemen's lockers everywhere, there is a giant mural dedicated to the local fire department on one wall (Tualatin Valley Fire)and there is even a fire prevention tips book located at every dining table! When it came time to order, the cashier even asked me if I wanted to round up my order to the nearest dollar as a donation to the local fire department (I did)! But how was the sandwich? I ordered a meatball sandwich as a comparison since I've had meatball sandwiches at the other chain sandwich places. My reaction to my sandwich was I've had this sandwich before: the texture and flavor of the bread, tomato sauce, meatballs, cheese and dried herbs was so familiar it elicited memories of bygone Subway meatball sandwiches. For me, the sandwich was virtually a clone. I really felt like I wasted my time. And therein lies the problem. If you live in the Portland area, for about the same amount of money it would cost to go to a chain place you can go to an independent sandwich shop run by a guy who probably has a culinary degree and has made it his life's passion to make sandwiches. I've gone to those places, and you won't think for a second that your eating a sandwich at a chain restaurant.

I've been going to firehouse subs since they opened. The service and food has always been great. Nicole the manager is amazing.

Holy overpriced, batman! The cheapest sub is $7! I could get a better steak and cheese about 5 places for half the price. Maybe a small notch above Subway, but way more expensive. I guess it's ok if you're rich. Or really into firemen.

Delicious subs! Went today and the owner Stephanie remembered my name and no, I didn't give them my name for my order. Pretty impressive considering the amount of people they see on a daily basis. Keep up the great work! We'll be back soon and so should everyone reading this.

Can't review the food. But the service was horrible as I stood there for 10 minutes while the one cashier chatted with her group of friends that couldn't decide if they wanted to order or not. While the three guys at the line just kept doing whatever they were doing. Walked out without so much as a word from any of the employees the whole time.

Sure it's better than Subway, but is that really saying much? My sandwich tasted alright but didn't blow me out of the water. Nothing on their menu stood out as being high quality meat or cheeses. I think they're selling more on the firemen decor inside than the actual sandwiches you order. Personally I would rather drive to New Seasons Market down the street and get one of their sandwiches to order for the same price.

Best meatball sub I have ever had. If you want a cold sandwich go to subway. If you want a great toasted sub with the right amount of spice go to firehouse

Really great customer service! Quick service! And my sandwich was great! I will be coming here more often for my lunch break :)

Pork and slaw was great. but my all time favorite is probably the Engineer. I have never been hit on by the staff, plus that's a compliment anyways, if I had been. The prices are higher than subway but the portion and flavor is much greater. Quiznos subs used to be huge, then they shrunk to subway size. Quiznos is better than subway but more expensive for about the same size sub. I still prefer to go to Quiznos. I believe this place was opened by firemen? Also, I love that they are always asking for donations. Only a cheap a$$ wouldn't donate 50cents to a good cause.

  • Courtney B.

Bad customer service. They have about 12 high school kids working yet it still takes 15ish minutes to make a sandwich. Huh? Ontop of that the order was wrong - I ordered a steak and cheese got home and it was just a dry steak sandwich with no cheese, dressing, or lettuce-nothing. Didn't get a receipt either when I paid. Wont be back.

Went here with my spouse and our subs did not get to us - after 20 minutes I asked what was up and they searched for the order slip and it was not found - after a 27 minute wait, we had our subs. The manager gave us two free sub coupons, but when we went to redeem them we were told we could not use both of them on the same visit. What a crappy way to treat customers. I decided not to use the coupons and walked out - I'll give the free sub coupons to a homeless person.

They are trying hard in Beaverton, OR I would give them a month or so to get through their growing pains! I quick process issue is the Italian I ordered should have been layered with thinker slices of meats.

We got lucky on this referral from my mother-in-law in Tennessee. She compared it to a sandwich place in Michigan called Tubby's (they do hot and grilled subs too). We searched and there was one that just opened up in Beaverton. My wife and I made it a plan to hit them for lunch. When we got there you can tell it was popular, people were parking where they could and getting in as fast as they could. The place was busy with a few open seats. We ordered the Italian and the Firehouse Hero, some chips and two drinks from the Coca Cola Freestyle machine. My wife's eye lit up on the first bite and I knew she loved it. Then I asked "Tubby's?" and she said "Yes!". The sandwich was real good and the textures, crispness of the lettuce, firmness of the tomatoes and the balance of condiments was spot on. The sub roll was good, but I wish it had a little more bite or chew to it, like the bread from Monkey Subs. We are definitely going back to try the other sandwiches. Oh, I usually hate onions on sandwiches unless they are sautéed and for some reason these raw onions were so good that I did not even notice. Sweet and not harsh tasting. I do get what the none reviewer wrote about the excessive cleaning by the staff. I barely swallowed the last bite of my sandwich and an employee was already grabbing my serving basket from my place setting, then asked me if I was done after they started walking with it. I was done but I felt a little rushed to clear the seating.

My wife says 12 stars. She's a big fan. Very good and big sandwiches. Play with adding some spice from the sauce rack! The Engineer sandwich is great!

Went in today and had a hot pastrami and corned beef, I thought it was excellent, The only other good hot pastrami around is Togos. It was a big sandwich and the service was very friendly and helpful, The pickle that comes with it was also very good and crunchy. Try there hot sauce while you are there, I enjoyed enough to buy a bottle to take home. I will certainly return.

  • Chris H.

First time in today and it was amazing. I had the Italian combo with a drink and chips. What I liked about it is that everything tasted even. It wasn't over powering with meat or sauce like you'll get at some other places. They give you a sliced pickle that was crunchy and tasty. You basically walk in and order/pay your food. If you eat in, you just go to your seats and they bring the food to your table or just wait by the counter if you order to go. They have the coke freestyle machine with all the options. Including a cherry limeade juice that looked to be an exclusive to this chain. I recommend it. It's good to see more sandwich based chains that offer better quality food then subway.

Best subs in Oregon! Try the hook and ladder. Kids get a cute fireman hat. Clean place. Love the coke.machine.

  • Laura D.

Not very kid friendly at all (they have 0 healthy options for sides or drinks). My turkey Salsa Verde sandwich was tasty. The bread was better than Subway's, and it tasted toasty warm. Their service was extremely friendly and helpful. However, the lack of healthy options for sides (cookies, chips or rice crispy treats), or drinks for kids (the best option was water; otherwise you could get any different combination of sugary sweet sodas), doesn't make it a place I'd like to visit again. They had a novel concept of handing out firehats for the children's toy if you get a kids meal, but I wouldn't want a stack of them at home. Additionally, while they had one of those cool multi-choice soda machines, they only had one. Which means that one person can get one drink at a time, and that is a bit obnoxious. My husband loved his hook and ladder sandwich and will definitely return, but likely by himself.

  • Yoons S.

Had the steak and cheese. It was pretty good, I put some of their house hot sauce on thought it tasted even better. Portions are not very large as you only get a medium for the price of a footlong at subway but it's different.

Wow! Gotta say, I am impressed. The family and I would go to a location. Near our old house. They were less than stellar. In fact. I wouldn't eat and just sip iced tea. But this location near my work, while new, was above and beyond. I dreaded going initially but boy am I glad I tried it again. The food was perfect. Even found a tasty new sauce amongst all the selections of hot sauces. And if you like hot sauce, Lordy do they have a HUGE selection. Service was fast even while packed for lunch. The place was clean and well kept. Employees were friendly and offered to take our empty trays for us and invited us to stay as long as we liked. While the prices are a TAD higher than I would like to see for a sandwich shop, I'm not complaining and I WILL return with no problems.

Can a restaurant be too clean? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but while impressive, the constant sweeping and wiping down was a little distracting, particularly when the place was packed at lunchtime, and also with the large number of tables and chairs placed closely together as well. The cleaning and wiping down never seemed to stop and I just never seemed to feel relaxed. I suspect a better time to eat here in my case is not at high noon or at dinner. With that being said, I really liked the open and very light-filled dining area, and thought the fire house scheme was a fine idea. Each customer is greeted when they enter and when they leave by the very cheerful and friendly staff. I particularly liked that they had their menu not only on boards high above the sandwich prep area, but also had printed paper menus that could be consulted. It seems like lately that menus are placed higher and higher and more difficult and tiresome to read (having to crane one's neck). Ordering is quick, and sandwiches and other sides are delivered quickly by one of the nice staff members. They have a Coke freestyle machine where you can formulate a drink out of any number of flavors. A fun idea, but really it would help if they put up a list of step-by-step instructions on how to make the machine work efficiently. It is not intuitive, and I'm sure I drove the poor people standing behind me crazy with my trial-and-error attempts to get my drink. I ordered the Cherry Limeade, and one of the young ladies suggested I get some lime wedges and squeeze them into the drink as it was usually too sweet. A great idea which I really appreciated. The sandwiches at Fire House are several notches above Subway and Jimmy Johns. I had the turkey and bacon sub fully loaded (mayo, mustard, lettuce tomatoes, pepper ranch dressing, but no onions) on wheat bread. The bread was fresh and the other ingredients were placed together in such a way that everything was nicely put together without having the meat fall out of the sandwich due to too many and too much in ingredients. The sandwich was tasty and satisfying. I think this is a perfectly fine place to get a good sandwich, definitely far better than Subway and some of the other sandwich competitors, and I appreciate the great customer service and friendliness and the hard work of all the employees in keeping the restaurant super clean.

Favorite sub shop. Best sub for the money hands down. No contest to subway, jimmy johns or any place that sells sandwiches. The turkey bacon ranch is my favorite. The best thing about firehouse is that toppings a condiments are endless. Then comes the hot sauces. The signature fire house sauce is soo good. Not to hot but just right. The place is obviously a hit because every time I go in the place is packed with people. But surprisingly they are very efficient and the wait isn't long. While waiting for my sub I like to explore a new soft drink combo with the best coke machine. Any flavor to any coke product. Jalapeño chips please and thank you. I recommend all go and try!!! I think you'll find your self returning over and over. Go Firehouse!!!

Food is fine. Kids sandwiches can be ordered cold and are served plain and have meat and cheese on them. Some of the Staff could use some customer service training. Place was busy for a weekday lunch. I had the capt. Sorensen's datil pepper chicken sandwich. You could order it w/o the cheese to save some calories and wouldn't even notice its gone with the sauce that's on it. I was surprised at how filling it was.

Not a fan. Very friendly staff, but paying $10 for a sandwich that was bland as all heck. No plans to go back

Good sandwich, nothing great... Agree with some of the other comments, very clean, friendly, kids inside were having fun,as they give away fireman hats for kids. Other than that, really not much else to give props for...

If it wasnt for the huge lineup of hotsauce going from 2-8 on the burn scale, I would have called it a bust. We ordered the club and meatball sub....not really something you douse your sandwiches with hot sauce kind of choices. Didnt stop me, though. I tried 6 bottles of hot sauces and bbq sauces. They were of nice variety. The "Xtreme" habanero sauce kicked me around several times, until I left it aaron alone. Anyway, our sandwiches were nothing to write home about, but firehouse hotsauces definately made eating the subs a five alarm adventure.

Super yummy! I don't think I've had a better sandwich in a real long time. Service was quick and friendly and they have one of those soda machines that have everything. I know, lots of places have em now but it was my first time:) Anyway the New Yorker was excellent...don't let it sit too long or your bread will get soggyish. Still yummy tho:D

  • Mikhail H.

Their salad was meh but the meatball sub was pretty darned tasty. I like the decor and firehouse theme. For those of you who are hot sauce fans - they have a selection unlike anything I have ever seen. They also have one of those crazy Coca-Cola concoction soda machines so if you have ever wanted peach Mellow Yellow you can do that.

There isn't much to say because every sandwich leaves me speechless. Yup, that good. Is it healthy? No way. Is it paleo? Not even close. Is it melty steamy kick your tastebuds in the throat delicious? Hell yes it is. Best sandwich EVER

I love a good hoagie. Firehouse does them well and their pickles are a huge plus. The staff here is wonderful. The first time we ate my friend picked up a sandwich for a group of us and didn't think to ask about the ingredients. One of the potential diners has a pretty severe allergy to soy and any commercially made bread is a very likely culprit for an accidental poisoning. We called to ask if her food might somehow be safe. It wasn't. The staff handled it beautifully though. They weren't at all at fault, the food bringing was just being absentminded, but they insisted on apologizing and offering to put something together out of safe options. Our friend was fed and happy. I will note that their company website does say that their food is safe for people with soy allergies because they utilize a FDA loophole that claims highly refined soybean oil isn't allergenic. Well it is to a lot of people. So watch carefully!

Stopped by there today to have lunch with my boy it was busy but after wiping down our own table we had a place to sit. We liked the fireman theme and hat. My only complaint was that I ordered the steamer and it was missing the brisket. Plenty of pastrami though. I will try this place again in the future and update my review. Also liked that they had a variety of drinks to choose from along with a whole bunch of meat. Ha

Started by firemen and part of proceeds go to local community first responders. The subs are really tasty too. Maybe a bit spendy, but for a good cause. I prefer them to most other sub places.

Darn good sandwiches. It sure beats subway by far. My favorite is the Steamer, brisket and pastrami.

  • Phong D.

Firehouse Subs reminded me of my college intramural basketball skills: good not great, not the first pick but certainly not the last, better than average. I wanted to be excited about this place because I had so much fun at Mod Pizza nearby. The brisket sub was good but not great. The price was a bit high. I guess I'll be back but I'm not sure when.

BEST. EVERYTHING. Meatball sub was amazeballs. Cashier/waitress lady was super sweet, too. Not sure if I've just been living under a rock this whole time, but they're vintage looking coke machine was pretty sweet. Got Peach flavored Sprite! I would definitely make this my weekly place to get subs.

For a chain sub shop this is better than most. I've been twice and both times the food was pretty tasty. My favorite so far is the Italian, really juicy and lots of flavor! The steak and cheese was a bit dry and bland so I'll try something else next time. The decor is cute, looks like a fire station and the staff is super sweet.

No other sub place in beaverton compares right now. I've only been here once so far and it was a good experience. They were busy but had plenty of people working to keep up with the rush. The employees were all friendly. My sandwich was gigantic, my bread was soft, and the flavors were great. The biggest complaint I have of other sub shops is a lack of flavor and hard bread. This place had neither. I'd be curious to see if I can order a sub cold and have it still be as good and the bread as soft. If I ever do, I'll let you know.

    (5)
  • Dave R.

Wow what is it I'm missing? Firehouse was OK but I would not go out of my way to try it again. I always give a place a couple of tries before I review unless it's really bad. Firehouse we tried twice and I just think of it as a so, so sandwich compared to the other options in Beaverton. Yes better than subway but better than Sub Station? Nope. The place is clean but it's only been open a month. The customer service was fine but they looked like they were a little impatient with us as we checked out the menu before we ordered. The steak and cheese had tough fatty bits and no real flavor and the size of the sandwich was small. The hook and ladder tasted plain. I guess they have to have all of the hot sauces on the side so you can get some flavor . With about five other sandwich places within a mile or so from them I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.

  • Damon H.

We love this place. Have only been a few times. It has never let us down. Extra bonus for the extensive availability of hot sauces, (big fans of spicy). We also appreciate the "round up" option to donate to local fire house organizations.

I love Firehouse Subs. Firehouse started in Florida and I didn't think I would ever eat at one again after I moved to the Northwest. I am SO glad that I was wrong!! Firehouse subs are delectable. The meat is steamed, which makes for a very moist sandwich. The meat tastes fresh and there is a lot of it. I always get the steak and cheese (I have dreams about this sandwich), but I have tasted almost all of the subs because my husband gets a different one every time. The ingredients are great and the smaller sub ("regular") is more than enough for one person. I will be back here. Again...and again...and again...and again... Who am I kidding? They should probably name a booth after me.

  • Rick H.

Look, I really can't say anything nice about this place with out resorting to "the decor is very clean looking, the service was A+," or other tripe. They're simply mediocre subs for a mediocre price using mediocre quality ingredients. They're a quarter step above fast food and other then the decor and the name of sandwiches, indistinguishable from Jimmy John's right across the street. Two choices of bread, a couple dozen options of different sandwiches, some of which have "Fire Station" related names, and under ten different condiment choices. Subway (also across the street) has that many condiments just in sauces. About the only interesting feature is the rack of hot sauces, conveniently labeled 1-10 on a hotness scale. I was mildly interested to note that I had three of those sauces in my cupboards at home. Two clock in at 9 and one at 7 on their scale. I might have a medical problem because I don't find any of those hot any more... Oh, and they have the cool Coke machine that allows you to combine makes of soft drinks (as long as they are under the Cokebrella,) with several different syrup flavors. So you have about 1.2 million different flavor combinations in a 2x2x6 foot area. Delicious! If you like Coke products. If you're blown away by Firehouse Subs, I quick review of Yelp here will reveal at least one other nearby sub place that would positively make your head explode. I think even a local nearby "Natural Foods," grocery store could make a better sandwich. So, will I go back again? Unlikely, unless I'm traveling, in desperate need of food and have limited choice. I'll probably see Firehouse subs added into the rotation of food served at mandatory lunch meetings at work. And I'll eat it because it's sustenance. Which is about all I can say for Firehouse Subs. It's sustenance.

OMG this food is amazing!! I got a Deconstructed Firehouse Meatball Sub!!! GoodBye JJ's

  • Mirco R.

So we are trying this new sub shop in town and honestly not impressed at all. The sub itself was tiny and lacked quality meats. Entire portion seemed the bare minimum, which a 12" sub should be filling yet I felt 75% filled after leaving. When I can usually barely finish a Jimmy Johns sub or even a Subway sandwich. Jersey Mikes along with a local few shops are twice as good. I won't be coming back but wish the business the best in luck.

My first Firehouse experience was in Georgia a few years ago and, because of that, I am so happy they've come this way! Unique subs, fresh ingredients, an array of hot sauces to suit just about anyone, quick service that's always been correct, and a clean establishment is what they have to offer. Try them out and Cedar Hills, keep up the great work!

I've been here twice since they opened. First time they were really busy, the seats were almost all filled, inside and out, If you've been in, you know there are quite a few seats. The wait after we ordered was long enough that I noticed, I think it was about 15 minutes. The sandwich was better than a subway/quiznos, but nothing crazy delicious. Second time in, the wait wasn't bad, and the food was again pretty good all things considered. Consistent quality between both visits, and the place looks clean. For the land of chains and franchises, this place is pretty good. It's no Taste Tickler, but it's pretty good.

  • David T.

Ignore the five star reviews, there is no way they are not planted. It would be impossible to have taste buds and give this place a five star rating. The food is super bland, I had the steak sandwich and it was just ok. The food is highly processed, the meat is previously frozen and low grade, lots of fat and really over cooked to overcome how tough it is. The vegis look dead and were probably shipped here from the east coast. Don't let them fool you with the $6 price tag, that is for about a half sandwich, a footling is $8.50ish, and goes up from there if you add anything to it. I gave it two stars because the people were friendly and place was decorated kind of cool. If you want a processed sub go to Quiznos, it's about the same price $8, and the meat is much much better. That will be my one and only trip to Firehouse.

It was okay. Italian is all ham. No flavor. Salad was good. Prices high when you consider the lack of flavor. Cute decor.

Eat here... Now. You won't regret it. Delicious, fresh, hot sandwiches for whatever type of sandwich you're jonesing for. My personal favorite is the Engineer. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is is because it's really small here. Really small.... I feel like I'm sitting at the neighboring table and that I have to crowd surf to get my drink. But otherwise, it's delicious! Enjoy!

First time here and it was amazing. I had the Firehouse Meatball, husband devoured the Hook & Ladder, and the little one got the kids Hot Ham meal. Everything was delicious. Customer service was impressive (seeing we were first timers they gave lots of tips), decor is adorable, and I love that they support local fire stations.

  • Amanda R.

My sister took me here because she knows I like a good sub sandwich. This place was seriously good and had decent prices. I had the turkey and cranberry, which was pretty amazing. The cranberry tasted better than some other sub joints. Less fake and more cranberry-y. ;) The sandwich was hot and had just the right amount of "stuff" on it. All in all, I was impressed and will be going back to try other items on the menu. I will update my review as I go! :)

Good food almost not worth the high prices. Staff is friendly almost on the border of obnoxious, they seem to flirt with every guy that walks in... If youre looking for a step up from subway or quiznos this is it. The hawaiian pork and slaw is good and has a ton of meat. Im sure we'll be back.

Sometimes I just need a good sandwich and I got 1 here. My daughter and I couldn't decide on what subs to get so we choose the Meatball and the smoked brisket 12" and shared them that way I got to sample to items on the menu. Meat quality was good on both subs and really makes me re think ever going back to Subway! This was more fancy than Subway and much better tasting, so far my favorite is the brisket with bbq sauce but looking forward to finding more favorites.

For a sandwich shop this is my new fave, so pleasantly surprised when I checked it out today with my co workers. Right by work it was also very convenient. The staff is so nice and greet you right away, prices are amazing considering the quality of the food. Seriously makes Subway look like 7-11 food and I definitely like it better than Jimmy Johns! I had the Italian my first visit but their whole menu looks awesome.

Can I say enough good stuff about this place?! I had firehouse subs in another state and was so excited when I found out we were getting one here. I always get the turkey and bacon with ranch. It's so warm and meaty and delicious. I crave it! The staff always welcome me when I walk in. You have the option to round up your total and the extra cents go to the local fire station. I feel like it costs a little more than other sandwich places but it's totally worth it. If I had one minor criticism, it's that the food takes a little too long to come out. It seems like it should be faster than Subway since there is less customer interaction and the subs aren't customized to every ingredient. Subway is 90 seconds from ordering to paying. Firehouse is more like 6-10 minutes. The food is definitely worth the wait, I just don't understand why it takes so long. I eat here often but if I'm in a hurry I have to go somewhere else.

I was here yesterday for lunch and it was so good I had to come back again for dinner. Now, I'm coming here today for another sub for lunch. Firehouse Subs satisfies this pregnant woman's cravings! There bread is perfectly toasted, their signature firehouse hot sauce is great, and their dill pickle spear on the side is a bonus! I always get their medium sized sub (7-8 in) but I might need to get a large today because this baby needs to get fed!

The 4.5ish star cume on this place is a little generous, to say the least. I don't mind eateries that use gimmicks to sell their product, as long as said product winds up being worth my time. Engine House pizza, for you long-timers in the area, was a big favorite at least for kids, way back in the day. Alack, Engine House is long gone for many years now. I guess that's why the Fire-Fighter angle must seem innovative to some noobs to the area and young-uns. Never the less. There has been a veritable explosion of sub sandwich chains in the area over the last couple years, as has been noted by other writers. I'll give Firehouse credit for one thing: their steam-cooking method makes for very tender meat. I've waited til I had 3 different sandwiches at this place to render my judgment--- the Pastrami, the brisket, and chicken bacon--- and in each case the meat was pleasingly tender and juicy---- but check this, they were all remarkably bland. The best of the 3 sandos was the turkey bacon. The worst by far was the brisket. Maybe Firehouse is secretly in cahoots w/Famous Dave's BBQ, I dunno, but I swear they use the exact same grade of rubbery, blubbery, flavorless meat product. Worse still, they slather said lifeless beef with a thick, sweet glaze. Heavily saucing your brisket is bush-league stuff, muchachos. You can run with the low quality, but you can't hide. I also have tried the "Award Winning" chili @ firehouse subs and I can only wonder at the competition, in which they were deemed the winner? Who were the other contestants at this contest, btw? Dennison's? Hormel? Fred Meyers' old school generic brand My-Te-Fine? As with other Yelp commentators, I was initially impressed by the large and highly varied assortment of hot sauces available @ the counter. They had several sauces @ habanero grade heat, and at least one using Ghost Chilis. Alas, all this wound up doing was making the bland meat extremely spicy. Hot sauce is supposed to enhance the natural flavor of the meat and cheese--- it isn't intended to be doing all the heavy lifting in the "providing the flavor" category. If that were the case, why bother w/all the junk calories in the sandwiches, and just chug the sauce, straight from the bottle? Given the EMS/firefighter theme, the décor in the restaurant was predictably and predominantly red. Red everywhere, coupled w/the bright lights, had me doing flashbacks and remembering why I never shop @ Target, if there's any other choices available, and duly heading for the exit, pronto. Given so many other options, I think it best to revert to a proper spelling of "Sandwhich". Again, given the numerous other options for your hard earned dollar, I'm settled for now on "which" one I won't be returning to, any time soon. Firehouse also does not deliver, leaving Jimmy John's and long-reigning local champ Beaverton Sub Shop prohibitive favorites for the Beaverton area. Stay thirsty, my friends...

Eh. That could be the whole review. It truly sums the place up. After three times and three different sandwiches, I've decided Firehouse Subs is neither exciting nor offensive. A decent sandwich at an inflated cost with a bit of a wait. After three tries, I can say, without a doubt, that you MUST get your sandwich Fully Involved, and don't be afraid of the hot sauce. Minus those two things, you end up with an Eh sandwich. With a plethora of sandwich choices in the Cedar Hills area, I will most likely not be back to Firehouse Subs. A bad choice? Nope. The best choice? Far from it!

My first impression of Firehouse is they serve fresh, hot subs with very good quality and taste. The staff is friendly and attentive and the menu, while a bit busy, provides a good variety at a decent price. Firehouse was started by firemen and the decor and signage drills that fact into you. Some of the food has kitschy names like "Hook & Ladder" and "Engineer" but it's not too over the top. They offer white or wheat rolls and buns and, in addition to the 12" or 8" subs, a light menu offers scaled down sandwiches on rolls. They steam their meats and cheeses instead of baking them, which means their buns and rolls are not toasted. However, I like the change of pace from the Quizno's and Potbelly's of the world. The toppings are fresh and the quantity of meat seems appropriate. They have a 120-option Coke machine and all combos have Large drinks, which is either good (value) or bad (health). I'm not sure. I'm not a fan of the Firehouse Chili, but I will be back to Firehouse Subs. They have a much better offering than Subway or Jimmy John's. Firehouse and Potbelly will be in my lunchtime rotation.

Tonight was my first time ever at this place and I must say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The subs are creative, fresh, and fantastic. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the food was fairly prices, and all-in-all it was a perfect experience. I had the steak and cheddar sub and it was mouth watering delicious! My wife had the meatball sub and she too thought it was excellent. There was a ton of things on the menu I would have liked to try but I'll save that for next time. I like this place much better than Subway because they have a lot of creativity going on which is apparent by the variety of sandwiches they offer.

Worked here for 6 months, from the day we (they) opened. Helped open, trained with everyone. It was such an amazing place to work and I ate a sandwhich every shift I worked and never once got tired of the food there. I have dreams about those sandwhiches. Best pastrami I've ever had in my life. Even got my family hooked on it too! Love this place. Brandon and Stephanie are the best, love them to pieces. Can't wait until I can go back and visit!!!

Awesome hot subs!! The hook and ladder is my favorite though the engineer and hero are close favorites. For smaller appetite try the under 500 calorie bun based sandwiches. The staff are super friendly and provide service with a smile.

Soda Pop: Coke products (one of the machines that allows you to add flavors to the soda) Service = 5* (fast and everyone is cheery) Food = 4* I have been excited to eat here since I saw they were building it. I first tried Firehouse in Greenville, NC and I loved it. It costs more than subway or Jimmy Johns, but not much and the added quality is worth the price. If you are looking for a quick bite, try this place out.

Love the variety and the friendliness of the staff. We ordered the steamer and the Italian and split them. They were both excellent! They do not skimp on meat or toppings. Our new hot sub go to!

  • Jeff M.

  • Krista G.

Holy overpriced, batman! The cheapest sub is $7! I could get a better steak and cheese about 5 places for half the price. Maybe a small notch above Subway, but way more expensive. I guess it's ok if you're rich. Or really into firemen.

  • Beth D.

Delicious subs! Went today and the owner Stephanie remembered my name and no, I didn't give them my name for my order. Pretty impressive considering the amount of people they see on a daily basis. Keep up the great work! We'll be back soon and so should everyone reading this.

    (5)

BEST.

We love this place. Have only been a few times. It has never let us down. Extra bonus for the extensive availability of hot sauces, (big fans of spicy). We also appreciate the "round up" option to donate to local fire house organizations.

Enjoy!
