My friends and I love this place. It's a very authentic Whiskey Bar. Very comfortable seating and great background music. They also have a fantastic selection of wines and are very generous with their pours. Their small bites at happy hour are all delicious. I've tried them all! Their chef's presentation of the food is very pleasing to the eye. The service is very good and they have friendly, professional employees. Twice being there we've gotten a free sample taste of something we've asked about. I can't wait to bring more friends back here and introduce them to this place. Their signage is very small and it's difficult to find, but it is located in the historic old downtown Beaverton on Broadway. PS: Their bathrooms are really clean!

Great name, quaint, feels like you're back in time. This is a new place and needs to work out a few kinks, and then it will be 5 star "unique" bar. The decor is perfect with some cozy couch seating and whiskey barrel tables. Everyone there was working very hard and were extremely nice. Place was packed. Food was very tasty, but I did not like the Caesar salad. Happy hour specials were good. The charcuterie plate could improve. Needs salami and less lunch meats. Happy hour prices were great, but the drink I ordered was $12.00 and not on the HH menu. It was delicious, but should be a little less in price. They don't have a true sign out front yet, but by the amount of people there, on a Friday night, it's well known. Can't wait to see your sign. A couple more things. Guys you need to get some cute waitresses, because even the chef was bringing the food out. This new place is almost 5 stars. I will be back again! We had fun!

Apparently I'm not the only one who has had a noise complaint from the barkeeps which is nice to see, I thought it was just me. The staff was not friendly until it was time to pay for my drink. Drinks weren't bad I just hated the ambience and service....with a passion. I will never go back. I rather see the walls get knocked down and added to the Broadway saloon.

Chill, laidback whiskey bar in central beav. I've gone twice already and I love it. It's got a little bit of a 1920's flapper vibe going on and I'm totally here for it. What I love most about this bar, is that the hipsters haven't discovered it yet. Last time I went, there was only one other couple being waited on... Perfect. My kind of joint. I'm entering my late 20's, so the whole club/crowded bar thing is just not cute anymore. Vaguely remember what I drank, but I do recall ordering this specialty drink that had raw egg in it, my god it was good. They also make a pretty nice dark and stormy, so definitely try that as well. Anyway, I love it; I'm sold. We'll be back later this month!

Bootleggers is exactly the kind of bar that Beaverton didn't know it wanted, but really, really needed. The place already has a sizable clientele, most of whom are friends of the owners and regulars at the bar next door. Based on the description of "Prohibition-era bar," I have some pretty clear expectations. Bootleggers adequately meets all of them. The theme of the bar touches on that era, but could be a bit more authentic. It needs a few more props to lend a better 1920's back room bar feel. The drink menu has a decent collection of Prohibition-Era cocktails, but could be larger and touch upon more cocktails that aren't geared towards modern tastes. And the food menu is good, but could have a few more options. That being said, this was one of the best Sazeracs I have had outside of New Orleans. Even better then the place in Seattle who specializes in Sazeracs and has the word in their name. The orange peel set off the absinthe just perfectly, and the absinthe itself didn't overpower the drink flavors. The second drink was just as good, but apparently I was too far gone by then to remember what it was. As mentioned, the food menu is a bit short. But it also has lots of non-typical bar options. I overheard Karmen stating to another customer that they don't have a deep fat fryer in the back, and everything is hand made to order, when ordered. They also tried to use as much local and fresh ingredients as possible. Among the items on the short menu are a series of meat ball dishes. All come with a side of sautéed vegetables. All are a huge mountain of food, even though they only have three medium sized meatballs each. And all are $9 or under. For that reason alone, it's worth eating dinner here. But, the meatball dishes, at least the two I have tried, are excellent. My favorite is the mozzarella stuffed meatballs in the Alfredo sauce. I pay for that dish later, but it's well worth it. The Alfredo sauce by itself was worth the price of the plate and easily beats the Alfredo from many of the local Italian places. Over all though, I think Bootleggers is going to be a huge hit in Beaverton. I for one know that I now have a new place for drinks, and I'm looking forward to what's still to come.

I'm very find of Bootleggers. They bring Portland to Beaverton. The atmosphere is well cultivated and pleasant, the food is quite tasty, and while there may be whiskey bars with bigger whiskey menus, their offering is good and pretty thorough. They also have an interesting selection of cocktails on menu. If you do brunch on Sunday, get the prosciutto egg Benedict, it's delicious.

My husband and I came here awhile back for dinner drinks. It was cute inside but other than the decor, the bar had no personality. We were the youngest people in the bar and felt very out of place in our late twenties. The drinks were okay and the bartenders were not very friendly or helpful. We don't plan to come back.

Great theme bar (prohibition era) and brunch. So great to have another option on the west side!

Drinks were AWESOME!! BUT YOU NEED TO BE QUITE!!! Apparently this is the only bar that people are not allowed to have fun, laugh out of loud and being loud!! Apparently this is the only bar in the whole entire world where you need to watch what you are saying to your friends while you are drinking and having fun!! We were 5 of us went here last night just drinking and having a great time! We were talking and laughing and having a great time when one of the bartender approached us and said to us "Can you guys keep it a bit down, specially a comment about lesbian, some people are a bit sensitive" we were like huh??? But we kept it down a bit stayed for one more drink then we left! DAMN!! When we go out with our friends to go to the bar what are we supposed to do?? Keep it quite for people who are drinking??? Why don't you have a sign at the door saying "Please come in and have drinks but please be quite and watch what you are saying" This is Oregon!! People allowed to say whatever they want to say to their friends while going out drinking!! Never in my life I went to a bar and I lived inNYC, San Fran, San Diego, LA, Waikiki, and other big cities and went to a bar, never a bartender approached my table and my friends to tell us to be quite, IT'S A BAR!!!! That killed the fun!! So we left!!!!

This place was set up very beautifully, the tall tables were big wooden barrels, leather sofas at the short tables, dim but romantic lighting, and a gorgeously crafted bar. I asked what was good for food and was told they are famous for their meat balls, which was about the only thing meal wise that wasn't gluten centered. I ordered the lamb meatballs with a miso ginger sauce and jasmine rice. I wasn't very blown away with the meatballs, the sauce and the rice wasn't bad. I gave up one meatball in and ordered appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms and baked Brie were delicious. I also ordered a blackberry bramble which was pretty good. I realize this is a whiskey bar but my drink to follow was not whiskey ( a dirty Shirley) but she made it well. Even though she didn't know what a dirty Shirley was, that was a first! Overall, I'd return for drinks and appetizers. If you are starved, try next door.

FABULOUS! Took my beautiful blonde date to Bootleggers a few Fridays ago--best first date ever! The drinks were quite tasty, the atmosphere was very smooth--and the ambiance made a quiet night of talking possible! Arrived around 7 and practically closed the place at midnight. If you have a beautiful blonde date, and she enjoys lounging on over-sized leather sofas while sipping whiskey and partaking in conversation... take her here! She will not be disappointed, and neither will you! Thanks!

Went here for a suuuuuper late birthday dinner/drinks and definitely wasn't disappointed. The set up and atmosphere of Bootleggers was really cute, I liked it a lot -- I especially liked the tables that were made from barrels. There were a lot of whiskey and drink choices, which I appreciated, and mixed drinks with the whiskey, which was also appreciated, because I knew that I could actually enjoy trying different whiskeys. I got the Blackberry Bramble and it was DELICIOUS. My mom got the sidecar and she sucked down two before we even got our food. My moms friend got the French 75 and loved hers as well. The only things that were kind of a bummer was the food choices -- don't get me wrong, the food that we ordered was really good, but there were not a lot of pickings on the menu to choose from. I got the Caesar Salad, which was really good, we also got the potstickers, and another plate that I can't remember the name, but it was like fruit, cheese, meats, and bread. All the food was delicious! The other thing that is a bummer is not being able to see the sign to the store front. I know parking is out of the hands of the company, so no problem, but I had to go up and down Broadway about 4 times before I actually saw the Bootleggers sign -- truly not that big of a deal, just a passing thought.

When it comes to bars with character (dives included) Beaverton is a great wasteland. I'm torn writing this review because I know that Bootleggers will soon be overrun with business as the word gets out in reviews and word of mouth. But that's the reward a good place deserves and having recently moved from near Mississippi St. in North Portland to Beaverton, I can only be grateful. Takes the sting off a little. Arrived for a pre-movie drink at a sleepy hour on a sleepy weekday evening. Only my lady, another couple and a lone guy in the place. The bartender Karmen, who I later learned is a co-owner was very nice, informative, personal, non-pretentious, naturally funny and just had that good vibe that you rarely run across in bar staff. Whiskey choice is excellent. I like a big back to my whiskey and Hop Valley was there on tap to meet my need. This is definitely a place to hang out as a couple but they also have couches near the windows to accommodate a small group. Although I admittedly have only been once, I could tell that this will be my go to bar in Beaverton. A huge step up over everything in the immediate area with the exception of maybe Watson Hall, which is more restaurant than bar. If you like DeCarli or Watson Hall, you should give Bootleggers a try. Think you'll like it.

You need to try this place! The bacon and jalapeño wrapped shrimp were outstanding, as was the stuffed mushrooms. The drinks are very good, better than most bars in Beaverton and Portland. Atmosphere is very nice, prohibition era.

Such a great new addition to Beaverton! Cozy whiskey bar with a fun spin on classic cocktails. Great ambiance, fantastic service, and reasonable prices for a whiskey bar. Fun date place! Would love it if they had more local whiskeys but they do still have a good selection. The steak and blue cheese bruschetta is also tasty. Looking forward to going back soon!

We stopped by Bootleggers today (Sunday ) for breakfast and had their Eggs Benedict. WOW it was by far the best I have ever had. The holonday sauce was to die for. The bacon was replaced with panchettais a must for anyone who loves Eggs Benedict. Sorry to say only on Sundays.

Really like this place. Great environment, service and bar. Menu is a bit limited, but the food was very tasty. The signage is poor, but its right next to the Broadway Saloon so once you know that... great addition to the neighborhood.

Well since it looks like I am going to be among the first to review Bootleggers I guess I had better not mess this up. DONT Go Here! I mean it....because this what is going to happen. You will go in. You will admire the attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of the decor from the whiskey barrel tables to the corrugated ceiling. You will intrigued by the long list of authentic Prohibition era cocktails, all painstakingly researched by CoOwner Karmen and served with a smile. Then you are going to meet Doug, the other owner, who will instantly make you feel at home and welcome. Then of course, you will have to look at the nibbles being offered. You might order the spicy bacon wrapped prawns or the tender mouth watering and sigh inducing Blue Cheese Steak Bites, A whiskey or Rye or Bourbon that you have never heard of from their extensive listing will catch your eye. Next thing you know, you will be talking about coming back. And then you will tell your friends and they will tell there friends and so on and so one until...as it always happens when I fall in love at first sip with a bar that Gets IT, I wont be able get a stool at the bar on a Saturday night. Congratulations Doug and Carmen...All your hard work has paid off. You have created something very unique in Beaverton. A Whiskey Bar, without pretense. Friends...if they are getting things this right on just on their second day...I cant even begin to imagine what is to come in the months ahead...but rest assured, I will be elbowing my way to MY corner bar stool to find out.

It's about time Beaverton got a decent classic bar. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The cocktails were top notch, and that's a lot coming from me as my husband's hobby is classic cocktails and I am usually disappointed when we go out. The food was good (limited menu), nothing to write home about but no complaints either. I'm sure this will be a regular spot for us. I'm glad I got to try it before the word gets out, I have a feeling this is going to be a very popular place.

This place is amazing! The owners are really friendly and the ambiance of the place makes you feel like you're back in the Prohibition era. Even if you aren't a fan of whiskey, there's plenty to drink here. Haven't had the food yet, but I'll definitely be back to taste it next time.

  • M J.

Was excited to come here, what a great concept. Drinks were very good but super expensive. I'm not sure Beaverton can support these prices. Also, the charcuterie plate was pretty lame. It looked like some one raided the sandwich fixings and the bacon wrapped shrimp was undercooked and kind of tasted like gas. The bartender was friendly and personable. Probably won't be back. Things have to be pretty great if you wanna charge approx 11-12 for a highball cocktail.
