We LOVE weekend brunch in my household. Of all kinds, we like the fancy fare at Urban Farmer, and we love the greasy spoon fare at McKenzie's. However, we did not like Biscuits. We waited entirely too long to be seated, and then quite a bit longer for our food to arrive. We were taken aback by the higher prices, until we received our plates piled high with obscene portions of mediocre food. The food was so bad, that we did not take our leftovers home, even though it was enough food for more than one more breakfast. Now, we sit at La Superior and enjoy delicious food and marvel at how many people endure that same experience across the parking lot on weekends!

we love this place for lazy weekend breakfasts - our favorite server is always smiling and remembers us well - does not flinch with my vegan / vegetarian preferences.

The food is good. The staff except for our waitress not nice. The hostess didn't know what she was doing. Oh and the seats were dirty and they didn't even bother to clean them off

Our server seemed very uninterested to be there. Poor old ladies next to us waited 25 minutes for her to take their credit card after finally they got up and took it to what looked like a bus boy. I dont know I wasnt impressed at all. Food was sub par. Bacon was clearly held for awhile, hashbrowns were frozen and then burned like they got precooked earlier in the morning. Much better places to go nearby. Dont see myself going back anytime soon.

This was my first experience at Biscuits so I wasn't sure what to expect. We met for breakfast at 11:00 A.M. on a Saturday so it wasn't crowded at all. We were greeted immediately, seated, and handed our menus in a matter of minutes. The menu was quite extensive and it had a large variety of breakfast items. We were met by a male server who was very friendly and helpful. I chose the Greek omelette with red potatoes. Considering we were a party of 5, the food arrived quickly. My omelette was delicious with spinach, feta cheese, and onion. The red potatoes were perfectly seasoned and not greasy at all. Our server was very attentive and refilled our coffee and soft drinks without a problem. I will definitely be back and hope the experience is as good as this one :)

Bland, mediocre and uninspired breakfast fare. I've eaten at a couple of different biscuits locations, and the experience was the same: 1)eternal wait (which I though spoke to the quality of the food, uh, no) to be seated 2)food is ready super-quick (which means most of it is sitting around pre-made) and 3)the food is bland. I guess people might like the large amounts of food that are served (their omelets are quite big), but it's so bland I think I drained a couple bottles of Tabasco in order to spice it up. This isn't a bad place if you're starving and not too picky, but if you want a nice brunch place with quality food... not so much. I feel like I could make every single item on the menu myself, and that it'd taste better, to boot.

"Meh" kind of says it all. Is this better than Denny's? Yeah, definitely. But I just didn't quite "get it"- especially for 10 bucks per person. I ordered Eggs Benedict with no English muffin, and asked that they put the eggs and such on top of the potatoes. Oh, they forgot to do that... I guess that's okay.... The hollandaise sauce was forgetful... which then just makes me feel guilty about the calories. The eggs were right at that stage where you're wondering if the whites are cooked enough (but you can't really tell because the sauce is on top of them). The hashbrown potatoes were cooked, but lacked the crispiness that you would expect. I ended up pouring hot sauce over everything and wishing that I had three dollars for a glass of juice to wash it down with. The coffee was tasty, though. I think if I had eaten this meal at a dive bar or greasy spoon and it was seven bucks I may have thought differently.

Service was okay. Food was sub par for Buscuits Cafe quality. We ordered kids chocolate chip pancake. That was ok, we thought the pancake usually has the chips in the batter but instead they were put in a bunch on top the pancake. It was almost like they forgot it was supposed to be chocolate chip pancakes and made up for it by just throwing some on the top. The French toast combo was good. The meat lovers omelette was NOT good at all and recommend not ordering it. It was dry with meat just placed inside and a slice of cheese melted on top. Very bland and definitely not worth the $10 something. We will stick to the Lake Oswego location.

Good service. Pleasant and quiet environment. Food hits the spot.

I love Biscuits, but this particular one needs to get organized. I have been here on four different occations now in which I needed to ask multiple times for service, water, seating, menu's, food. The last time my party of four waited for 45 minutes AFTER being seated for water, let along getting an order taken. We ended up leaving after an hour and had to get breakfast somewhere else. About three tables actually left before they even got their food because it was taking so long. The waitress was walking around with plates of food and didn't even know where her tables went (they left). I really hope they get it together because it's a great location and the manager is really nice.

Went for breakfast on a weekday morning and place was basically empty with only one other table seated. Even with that, the service was totally disengaged and poor. Had to prompt for things like silverware and drink refills. The service was much better when this placed first opened but has progressively slid downhill. In the past the manager would at least make the rounds checking on customers, this time he just argued with the waitstaff and ignored the few customers that were there. Food is mediocre, I would rate it just above a Denny's or Shari's.

    (1)
  • Kyle K.

The food isn't bad, and the employees genuinely want to make your experience pleasant. I never once had hurt feelings about the time it took to be seated, or the slow turnaround on our order. Prices are a little steep - definitely priced in the higher levels of what we'd be willing to pay for a Sunday brunch. The food, on a scale of 1 to 10 would be a 7 - consistently good but with various nit-picks which keep it from being great. I've been to this location a few times, and during the off-peak hours - it's a pleasurable experience. But they simply get too busy for their own good.

    (3)
  • Amanda L.

Food is good and the price is reasonable. I was also glad to see they have great coffee that is fairly traded and they support small local farms.

I am sad to say I am not proud of the opening of this biscuits, at first it was great and close to home. Now I question if I will ever go back. When eating you get the pleasure of listening to the servers actually belittle the busser and hostess at a very inappropriate way that is heard across the restaurant. As other people have said the wait has gotten longer for food yet the line has been shrinking over time.

I am so glad there is now a Biscuits in my neighborhood.. When I moved to Portland a few years ago I was so happy to find one but it was not convenient. Being from the South I miss the big breakfast tradition. Breakfast was the biggest meal of the day when I was growing up. It was full of all the great food you find at Biscuits - eggs, potatoes (hash browns or red potatoes), lots of meat options (I like the thick bacon very crisp) and biscuits! Ok, so they don't have grits and there is only one syrup option but the food I have never had a bad meal here (I am now a Saturday regular) and it's quick (always less than 15 minutes), the coffee is excellent and the servers are so friendly. Last week I branched out and had the french toast - yummy! btw..they do take out. When I visit my dad he now says "Please stop by Biscuits and bring me 2 + gravy"!

    (4)
  • Bill W.

They've updated their menu and added some new items like almond crusted french toast and bacon waffles, however this last time I stuck with my usual, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and biscuits. After trying my wife's red potatoes I'll go that route next time. The prices are reasonable and food is decent. It's located in part of Beaverton where there are few breakfast option nearby, so that adds some value. They are definitely a vast improvement over the big chains. Our server was great and they listened when we requested our eggs scrambled, well done. Many places still end up serving runny eggs.

We go to Biscuits Cafe every weekend, the service has always been prompt and very friendly. The food is the best in the area. We have never had a bad breakfast or lunch. The servers have always been attentive to our wants and needs. The owners are always friendly and go to each table to see if everything is to their liking and satisfaction. Our coffee or iced tea is always full. Give Biscuits a try, you won't be sorry. I think that a lot of the bad reviews are exaggerated.

Here with Mum, Linda, Kira and Nick :) We all settled in and made our decisions on what to get. The man rushed over our waters and plunked them down and hurried off. Back with coffees in a huge hurry...then back to take our orders...the whole time giving the feeling that he was rushed. (The restaurant was not that busy - I am guessing only about 3-5 tables) Then we all started chattering amongst ourselves. Back about 15 minutes later he came with a pot of coffee. I was looking at my niece talking and all of a sudden my hand was burning- he was filling up my coffee and the pot bottom was right on my hand. OUCH! Another 15 minutes passed (our table ordered pancakes - biscuits and gravy - a hamburger and omelet NOTHING that would take that long!) Suddenly our table was filled with food - all but the hamburger...she waited for another 5-8 minutes and out it came...I guess the other waitress took her burger and gave it to another table. I am one of the Sweet potato pancake people. I always order them at all the biscuits we go to...here - I would never get them again - heck I would not come to this Biscuits again. (Sad to say) They were small and raw inside and rubbery on the outside. Eggs and Sausage were killer! Two other people (at our table) complained about their food too so it was just not me. Sad because this one is close to home.

strike 3.. 1st time i ate here its was poor at best (but thought id give them a 2nd chance) 2nd time i ate here it was ok..had to send my order back.. 3rd time i ate here..well i should say visited, becuase i didn't get the food it was so bad. Ill never go into the biscuits on Barrows Rd id rather wait just as long and get WAY better food and service at the Orignal Pancake house on 99.

There are some resturants out there which hate the single diner. I would say this Biscuits location is one of them. I ordered 2 eggs, link sausage and hashbrowns with biscuits. I waited.....and waited.....and waited to get my breakfast while tables with 2 or more people got seated and their plates way before me. When my breakfast came, it was wrong, bacon instead of sausage and no biscuits. When I said something to the server he said I was wrong that it had taken a long time to get my order!!! I am 60 years old and can count on 1 hand the number of times I have not left a tip in my life. This was one of them. The food is adequate, but nothing special. I felt that this resturant neither wanted or needed my business, so I won't bother them again.

Mediocre meal was not worth the 40 minute wait. will not return.

  • Halee H.

Grapefruit Juice- very good Huevos rancheros- nothing to write home about Gravy on chicken fried steak- below average Chicken and waffles- absolutely terrible, 2 chicken strips on an average waffle. Good in a pinch, not really worth it if you have other options. Our server was very very kind though.

This place has a pretty good breakfast. They give you a lot of food which is awesome. It's a great place for a group. They serve good coffee. I love their omelettes and scrambles the most. Their service is very quick so it's easy to get in and out. They will always come by and refill your coffee when you want. The hash browns are very tasty so make sure to get some.

Anytime I come to Oregon I have to go to this restaurant. The food is consistently good and they have have a great selection to choose from. This morning I had the homemade corned beef hash and eggs. No canned stuff here.

Delicious food, great service!! Get gravy on EVERYTHING!! Any special requests I've had they happily oblige. I don't come here often but am pleased every time I do.

I wanted to like this place, their menu looked great, and honestly the food tasted okay. My problem with it was that I felt VERY sick to my stomach afterwards. I ordered their 1/2 hot cocoa 1/2 coffee blend, and it was very tasty but maybe far too sugary for me. My husband and I each got our own (and we can eat a lot), and just half of it filled us up. I would recommend sharing that if you get it. I ordered the veggie eggs benedict, which came with avocado, tomato, and I added ham to it. It was actually pretty tasty but just 1 benedict sans bun filled me up. It was just too much food! As I said, not sure what made me feel sick afterwards, it might have just been a personal sensitivity. The food was okay, just nothing super memorable or unique when you compare it with all the other local brunch spots they're competing with. However the service was good and it was a quick in and out so that was nice. They also appeared to have a pretty wide variety on their menu.

Always liked the food and staff, tried the red potatoes and was not to my liking. I really enjoy everything else, would definitely recommend to anyone needing a breakfast spot.

  • Jared A.

I am shocked with such a low overall score for biscuits. I have only had breakfasts here so I don't know about the lunches. It's breakfast people. They serve eggs, hashbrowns, coffee and toast. I think it is too hard to screw that up by maybe I am the naive one. Compared to other chain breakfast joints I think biscuits does a pretty good job. I do agree that it is expensive for eggs, coffee and pancakes but it you want a cheap breakfast eat at home.

  • Alex Z.

I walked in and was seated right away. Server was out standing and food was good. I will definitely be going back some day.

  • Dara H.

Meh...they were okay. I went here on the recommendation from a coworker who loves their French toast. The French toast was really good. But my eggs and potatoes had a funny taste to them, maybe they are cooked in margarine, which I am not used to? I can't quite tell, but I didn't enjoy that part of the meal very much. Our service was good though and they give you generous portions for the prices.

    (3)
  • Kate L.

Great service and yummy food! The manager was so nice and the atmosphere was friendly and family oriented. Will def return with the whole family. Especially for the cinnamon roll French toast!

  • Anthony K.

Meh... not bad... but not awesome. I had the corned beef. It was shredded and not the typical way I have normally had it prepared. My lady had the chorizo omelette which was decent too. According to her the food was much better before the restaurant grew from one to many locations. That can tend to happen when you grow. Just dont forget the recipes that make you successful are the ones that allowed you to grow. I would go back but I would probably order something else to give it a try

  • Victor F.

Everything was delicious and our waiter was great ,courteous and prompt, asked us for coffee refills only when we needed it. Omelets are cooked and made to perfecttion and easy over eggs are just that.I reccomend this place for breakfast and the atmosphere any time.

Been here 4 times since moving to the area and love it! The service is consistently great, really good coffee and nice home style breakfast. I especially love the Brisket Benedict!! Oh M GEE off the hook good! Alway get extra biscuits with the raspberry jelly too!

  • James B.

I am disappointed with the Biscuits on Barrows road in Beaverton. With my order, my eggs were overcooked. My kielbasa was burned and overcut. The hashbrowns were burned on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Very disappointing.

    (1)
  • Amy L.

Food at this place is quite greasy. I even tried their biscuits, quite dry and lacks any flavor. Not one of my favorite breakfast places. I would rather go to Denny's, Elmer's or IHOP than here. Service takes a while, coffee tasted very watery and poorly made.

  • Madison H.

Delicious food and amazing customer service. The owner was around working hard and interacting with everyone. Very enjoyable experience, will definitely be coming back!

This venue is one of the liveliest we've been to, and it is a lot of fun! Again, the service is prompt and the meals are large, and good! We really enjoy coming here!

  • D G.

Weird! This location has bad service and boring food. My one daughter ( who hates any potato) loves their potatoes. So we eat here or I watch her eat here. Now my other potato eating daughter loves the Lake Oswego location with better service and much better food. That goes to show us all, that a restaurant is only as good as it's people not its recipes. Managers, cooks and servers can make the exact same menu, good or bad. I know that not profound or anything. But I'm a Dad who cares that his daughters get their spuds.

    (1)
  • Dave B.

Pretty decent but food goes down heavy. Tends to get pretty busy so expect long wait times. Overall pretty average.

  • Ti S.

I'm totally surprised to see negative reviews on this restaurant... I've visited a few of them as they have chains in and around the Portland Metro area. I've always received stellar service & GREAT FOOD! In fact I would go as far as to say I would go out if my way to get to a biscuits cafe. I was expecting to see 4-5 stars when I looked up on Yelp to review........

    (5)
  • Kayla M.

Extremely slow service and poor quality of food. I received the wrong order, and they brought out another plate that we didn't order. No one cleared our plates when we were finished as we waiting another several minutes for the check. Don't waste your time and go to La Provence down the road. Much better quality and service for an equal or better price.

  • Tommy K.

Reliably good breakfast. Service is good overall, but can suffer with very busy weekend crowds.

  • Gregg R.

Excellent service, great traditional breakfast. I take my son here for breakfast once a week and even though we usually order off the kids menu they provide excellent service. Also very affordable.

Disappointing. Biscuits sausage and eggs all a bit undercooked. Friendly staff but slow svc.

  • Zach B.

I've been to 3 other Biscuits and have always thought they were pretty good and consistent. This one proved to be a little disappointing compared to the other ones. The Good: They were not very busy so we got seated pretty quickly. The coffee was decent and they kept the cups full. The Bad: Our service was pretty sub par. A lot of the basics (silverware, creamer, etc) took an effort to get and the waitress was not very welcoming. Nothing horrible but a lot of the little things done wrong. The Food: The food was hit or miss. I did the meat platter and found the sausage to be very greasy (even for sausage), the bacon over cooked and crispy but not very warm and the hash browns were a little bland. The biscuits, ham, and eggs were both very good. In general, this isn't a bad place to go and it is super close which is nice. I'd say there are better places to go and certainly better Biscuits than this one.

    (2)
  • Conrad T.

This place has average food but I forget the price. I went with my family and we had a food time. The service was friendly and helpful and there quick to ask you if your food is up to par. Great for families.

    (3)
  • Melissa L.

Never had a problem with service here. I haven't tried really anything except their biscuits and gravy breakfast with ham and over-easy eggs. That's what I order from most breakfast places, and now that's what I stick with. My roommate tends to order something different everytime and has no complaints thus far. Their prices are moderate, portions are decent and the food is good. Service is usually pretty quick and its location is near my apartment. Reliable breakfast at a good price - serving up one of my favorite foods. I prefer sausage gravy with biscuits and gravy - but theirs is pretty delicious and can make me forget about that preference.

  • Tina D.

I am surprised to see bad reviews. I love this place. Awesome service and friendly staff. The food is amazing!!! There red potatoes and sausage gravy are to die for! Give this place a shot, you will not regret it. La Provence pails in comparison to this place!

  • Krisna S.

I've been coming here for years, and I'm really not sure why. The food is mediocre at best and the old dragon lady that works there obviously hates her job.

Food is average. Not bad, not great. Prices are average. I like the atmosphere though. It's clean. Service was good.

  • Ryan Y.

Since my January review, I've been here twice. There are problems that I have experienced. 1. Be patient. Expect 30-45 mins for food. The cooks got slower. 2. The cooks are more incompetent and can't poach an egg. Two times in a row my eggs benedict was overhard. 3. Servers are more rude and no longer refill drinks. We had to seat ourselves and get our own menus last time. Drive a little farther and eat at Elmers on Gaarde and Hwy 99. It's worth the extra 10 min drive. If you want to willing to drive to Portland, go to Mother's, Besaws, or Stepping Stone for breakfast.

This place is awesome Great food every time.. I have been going to this location for 2 years the food is great. Good wait staff great management had a problem talked to wait staff corrected it immediately. I have not been able to find a breakfast diner as consistent as this one. I would recommend this place to anyone..

BOOOOOOO, tried for 20 minutes to place a to-go order, always busy, drove there....rude hostess......waited 20 minutes even at 8am then got home and an incomplete order! BOOOOOOO! Oh, and called to let them know, imagine that, another busy phone line. Burrito was descent though!

  • Chelsea M.

Disclaimer: I went the first few weeks they were open at this spot; however, it is a chain so I expect fewer growing pains. The Omelet: Disappointing. I have had better omelets at Shari's restaurants. It was more of an egg wrap, not much effort. The Apple Juice: Pitiful. My brother loves apple juice with breakfast and the only size they had was LITERALLY about 4 ounces. The waitress admitted that it was poured directly from the can. It was also horribly overpriced. The space: Yes, it was big, but it was also impersonal. We had a party of five and they could not really accommodate a party that big comfortably. End result: If you want a really good breakfast, head down the road another 8 minutes and go to South Store Cafe or (in the other direction) Cafe Murayhill.

    (2)
  • S M.

The food is just bad. It has no flavor whatsoever. I don't even think they use seasoning. My husband and I ordered different kinds of scrambles/omlettes...I had no idea you would even make an egg dish taste that bland. The coffee was cheap tasting. The food took a while and the waitress just forgot about us at some point and we needed boxes so we asked a different waiter.

I have been to other Biscuits Cafes in the Portland area, but this one is by far the best. This one went in close to our house, but we waited for a long time before we tried it out because we hadn't had good experiences at other locations. This is now one of our regular weekend breakfast locations. I almost always get the 2 eggs with hashbrowns and biscuits, which are always great and have branched out a time or two to try other items. The avocado benedict was really good as well. I was surprised to read other reviews complaining about the service. We have never had bad or slow service in all the times we have been there (probably around a dozen times). In fact, when we are planning our morning, we allow for about 45 minutes for breakfast and that it how it always goes. We can easily get in and out in under an hour, even on a Saturday morning. We will go back many times and would recommend this location to friends.

I have been to all the Biscuits Restaurant in the Beaverton area and the one by the Hospital they all rate a 3 for me. This one, however, is in my neighborhood so we gave them awhile after they opened to get their shiznit together. 10:00 a.m. on a Friday morning, there were about 10 other folks there which was a good sign. Same menu as all the other restaurants. I don't know why, but I ordered the pork chops, hash browns crisp, eggs over hard. The chops were dry as hell (why I would expect anything else I have no idea, when cooking pork it is hard to get it moist). My eggs were over hard as requested but the hash browns were very light brown, not crispy at all. The biscuits are good! They do share the same issue as their fellow restaurants, your entire meal comes in a pool of butter or some sort of oil. Hubby got the turkey bacon, eggs over hard, fruit and sweet potato pancakes. I ended up trading him eggs as mine came over hard and his came medium (I can do medium but he can't). The sweet potato pancakes were damn good actually, but the fruit was a combination of crap out of a can and melon which we could not identify which was whitish and sweet. Not good at all. Service was ok, took awhile to get hubbies coffee after we ordered it, but it finally came. One person was trying to cover all the tables and help buss too. Might need some help there. It has the same issue as all the other Biscuits Restaurant have which is acoustical issues. You cannot hear your server or each other. The restaurant itself is cute and well decorated, larger that the other Biscuits Restaurants. Overall it is OK, I will probably go back because it is close by, but I would not make a trek here specifically.

I've seen Biscuits Cafes in various locations and always wanted to try it out, so when this one opened near our house, it was my chance. We've gone twice now, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and I have to say I was not impressed. The service here is REALLY slow. An hour and 15 minutes for a breakfast for two consisting of eggs and a waffle should NOT take that long. The omelets look like something I'd make at home, complete with the American cheese slices on top. Only mine tastes better. The biscuits? I still can't figure out why they are not special when it's their namesake. Overall, mediocre food at best and though the service is friendly enough, I do not go to a place like this to "linger."

We love Biscuits. This is our go to breakfast place, waaay better than Shari's or Denny's. The only downside is that they are often very busy.

First thing I discovered when I visited Biscuits Cafe--they close at 2:30. I came in at 2:25 and they happily took my take out order. Looked like a decent place inside. Ample room for a fair amount of people. The bacon cheeseburger and fries were reasonably priced and tasted good. Shredded lettuce (my favorite on burgers,) processed American cheese slice, and the bacon was fairly crispy. It reminded me of an A&W burger. Typical one-step-above average fast food type burger. Nothing really stood out as good or bad, but the people were friendly, and the prices were reasonable, so I'll be back. How's that for an ambiguous review? Maybe I'll wrap it up by saying that if you live in the area, or are out that way, it's worth checking out. I still need to try their breakfast--maybe that'll push me to one side or the other.

The newest member of the Biscuits Cafe chain opened about a month ago so my wife and I decided to give it try for breakfast this morning hoping that the typical new restaurant gitters has been worked out. This turned out to be pretty much true. The place was about 90% full when we got there a little after 8am and we were promptly greeted and shown to our table. The first thing that we noticed was that it was much quieter than their Baseline location. Probably due to the layout as they didn't spend any money on a fancy interior. Service was quick, friendly and efficient but not without it's flaws. The food was well it was Biscuits. The same menu as all the rest of their eateries, the same pre made mixes and of course the same pre made biscuits. This isn't saying that the food is bad just uninspired sameness. My wife ordered the house made corn beef hash and I had the blueberry pancakes. Both were decent if uninspiring. My wife also asked for her egg to be poached and the did a good job of poaching the eggs, firm whites with a runny yolk. I on the other hand wasn't quite as lucky. My pancakes were fine but I ordered a side of bacon crisp and while it wasn't limp it wasn't cooked crisp either, lots of translucent fat. To the waiters credit he asked if he could get me anther order and when I declined he brought a couple of new pieces for me to eat. They were better bet still not up to parr. Sadly, I've requested crisp bacon at their Baseline location and had excellent results. This is solid breakfast place and I'll go back but I'll cross my fingers next time when I order my bacon crisp.
