Decided to follow other Yelpers recommendations and give this place a try. Really glad I did! I love the bread - just the right combo of crisp and chewy. The sandwiches, while large (and CHEAP!) aren't overstuffed to the point of being impossible to eat. I had the bbq pork and The Husband had something involving a fried egg (I'm not an eggy person) and we both pronounced our lunches delicious. I wish there had been a bit more dressing on my sandwich, but I noticed a couple of patrons with bottles of what-looked-like-fish-sauce at their tables, so I suspect it's something one has to ask for and add oneself. Got misheard at the counter and got a mango milkshake instead of mango milk tea but I didn't care all that much - it was scrumptious. Great selection of sweet buns, and they're buy one, get one free after 5PM. Yummers! And since they're open until 9pm, I can have bahn-mi for dinner, not just lunch, should the mood arise. Will definitely be visiting again!

We needed a quick meal between spending a couple of hours at the Nike Employee Store and heading back to Seattle. I had Best Baguette bookmarked for a while so it was nice to finally check it out. Cheap sandwiches with everything you expect from a banh mi -- crusty bread, pickled veggies, and your choice of meat. They have around 20 different filling options and it's a great choice for both banh mi and non-banh mi lovers (I ordered the #1 while my friends ordered the #3 and #9). At around $3 per sandwich, it doesn't break the bank and you leave feeling full and satisfied. What's better is that the sandwiches they serve are bigger than any banh mi I've had in the past. We washed it down with a delicious green tea milk bubble tea (yummy!) and we were good to go! Definitely a great option if you're in the area.

Over the last few years, I have really come to enjoy a good banh-mi. Best Baguette has a decent product at a great price. The best thing about their sandwiches is definitely the bread. It has all the right things going for it: taste, texture, and freshness. However, they consistently do not put in enough meat so I feel that I'm mostly eating vegetables on bread. I also question the quality of the meat being used. My favorite is the pork sandwich(#2) followed closely by the bacon(#7) and BBQ Pork(#9). If I was solely rating on quality, I would give 4 stars to this semi-fast food experience. I've given this location only three stars instead due to how busy it is at lunch time with long waits and not having a drive through like the SE location.

Just an ok Vietnamese sandwich. Like many, the meat/filling to bread ratio was pretty off. I feel like I coulda done double meat and it would've been better. Tan Tan which is half a mile away was much better! They do have a wider selection of deli/bakery/drink items here though. Huge seating area as well.

Love the bread! Try their special sandwich, so flavorful. Boba milk teas are delicious, too. We tried avocado and taro. Tryin their coffee next visit. Also, the cashier is so nice!

Banh Mi is excellent. Great French bread and my Vietnamese friend say it is super authentic. We love pressing takeout heAnn and they are super fast and efficient.

My friend wanted a sandwich so we decided Best Baguette was a place to go. Even at 1 pm there were line long line, but the service is so fast it just have me enough time to ponder on my choices. Many came with their children and extended family members, and half the customers seem to take out so it wasn't too crowded. Everyone was smiling and enjoying the beautiful weather today. I chose #8 pate with tiramisu as a dessert. I like the fresh taste of the ingredients and not too strong flavores. Only down side is that flan, pudding, and che were all sold out. It is so good it's not uncommon to buy in bulk, it seems. Gives me a reason to return at a earlier time :)

Hadn't been back in quite a few years and was pleasantly surprised. I remembered the baguettes to be cheap ($3 - $4) but also skimpy on the meat. However, I ordered the smoked pork and found it to be plentiful on the pork. So thumbs up on that. The only thing that irked me was that the person at the register could not tell me what was in the Best Baguette Special. At least it's listed online. If anyone is interested, it contains "pate, slices of premium ham, pork roll, and head cheese." Also beware that if you ask for no carrots, you don't get daikon either (another thing the cashier failed to mention).

I went here for lunch with my boyfriend and between the two of us we got the best baguette special, a grilled pork banh mi, a honeydew boba and strawberry banana boba. Both of the sandwiches were really good and were less than $4. Good deals! I didn't really care for the boba and ended up only drinking half of mine. The flavors are really strong and it was too sweet for my taste. It would be nice if there was an option to lower the sweetness level, which is something I've seen at other boba places. When we came there was a short line to order our food and it only took about 5 minutes for our order to be ready. There's ample seating if you want to eat here, but the sandwiches also come wrapped in a paper bag that's easy for take out. I think I'll come back here when I'm craving banh mi or when I want to go somewhere for a quick and cheap lunch.

This place is kind of different for me, but I like it. The sandwiches are cheap, as in the lower three dollar range. They are heavy on the veggies, with carrots and fresh jalopies....available with a good selection of meats. They also serve a variety of on site made pastries and bubble teas. Besides then Bahn Mi they also serve more western sandwiches, chips, and a fountain with the Coke lineup. Some things to know, they only take Visa and Mastercharge and not even those if your order is under five bucks. Five bucks my seem to be not a lot but I often fund myself with an order smaller than that...so then I add a creme puff....

  • Ryan H.

The price brings a smile to my face every time (the bread is good, lots of "filler" veggies ,meat is what you should expect for the $). This is McD pricing people!! and you don't feel like worthless shit after eating here either! WINNER! WINNER! BANH-MI FOR DINNER!

You are bound to hear the blender noise as you enter, order, and eat. The Bahn Mi sandwiches are less than $4 each. First time we ordered two each thinking they must be tiny. Well, they aren't tiny and one will suffice for most. Spend the extra dough on a Boba yes or fresh fruit drink. The Thai tea Boba and Watermelon juice were delicious. As for bahn mi...I prefer #1 special. The odd mixture of cold sliced meat with pickled carrots and fresh jalapenos come together nicely when eaten together. My daughter prefers the #4 grilled pork bahn mi instead. We also love the tapioca with taro. Give Best Baguette a try for good cheap eats.

The best banh mi in the Pacific Northwest in my opinion. Anytime I'm in the Portland or Vancouver area it's my first place to stop for food. The service is friendly and fast. The bread is made fresh and never fails. The ingredients are top notch fresh. The employees are always smiling and joyful. I'm from Seattle and have yet to find a banh mi comparable. This place sets the standard. I buy like 10 banh mi for myself for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is loaded with options and has something for everyone. I'm on a mission to try everything they have. They have desserts and bubble tea.

Cheap, quick, convenient and delicious! What more could you ask for!? The portions are very generous, freshly baked baguettes come stuffed with a plentiful amount of meat and veggies! I've only ever tried the #1 and the #13, and I'll stick with the #1 every time! The BBQ Pork is great, but just very different from what I expected. Considering no Banh Mi is over $4, you are getting so much for what you pay :D!

  • Doris W.

This is my favorite banh mi sandwich place of all time. It's cheap, comes with a big portion and tastes so good. What's there not to love? Every time I've taken a friend from out of town or someone who's never tried it before there, they love it.

Terrific baguette sandwich at a dirty cheap price. Located in a non-descript strip mall. Had their special sandwich. Crispy, fresh baguette with layers of ham and head cheese. Head cheese! So good. Slight tartness and sweetness come from the radish and carrots, and mild heat courtesy jalapeños. All in all, for $3.95, you won't get a better baguette. And it's filling enough for a light lunch. Will make it a point to come back and try the remaining sandwiches.

  • Anna S.

Solid banh mi at a super reasonable price. When I went (around 3 or 4 pm) the bread didn't seem super fresh... not bad but didn't amaze me or anything. They were also a bit skimpy with the fillings, as in I had bread leftover when I finished the sandwich. Still, for under $4, it's fine. Bubble tea is pretty good. Definitely from a powder mix but still better made than most! They are generous with the boba, which I think is soaked in honey or something, it has a sweeter taste than normal boba (but not sickeningly so). So like I said, solid. I'd return, but I also know that there are better sandwiches out there. This one is a real value, though.

Just went there for dinner, nice little quiet restaurant at 8pm, service was fast and efficient, food didn't take to long and the sandwiches were yummy! I got the asian vegetable with extra tofu and my boyfriend had the grilled pork with extra pork. The only thing was I didn't like my bubble tea( I got them to mix the mango and raspberry, and probably shouldn't have done that) too sweet for my taste...

  • Daniel C.

My son loves bread, but it has to be good. The bread has to be high quality. Otherwise, it will be a candidate for croutons. The baguettes here are are to die for. The right amount of crisp on the outside and chewy softness on the inside. "So yummy!" swoons my son. You should try it out.

For a banh mi place, this is probably my least favorite. This place is like the Powell location but smaller and there is no drive through. I don't ever get meatball sandwich from Best Baguette because it taste like just boiled meat. Everything else is okay. I usually get a special #1. Good thing is that prices are cheap if you need a decent cheap lunch. There is another Vietnamese restaurant that sells banh mi in the area that taste much better and is just as inexpensive. If you are willing to drive to the east side of Portland, you will also find much better restaurants that serve banh mi as well.

Baguette is just okay and the smoothies are just alright. I always get #1 (3.35), I like their French bread the best out of all the places I've been too, it's fresh and has a nice crunch to it. I wish they put more meat in though, also sometimes it's very plain. For drinks (usually 3.85), I've had the avocado shake and it's bland, I really like the durian shake though, it was perfect! I also tried the strawberry smoothie and it was way too sweet, they put too much syrup in. The iced coffee is probably the worse coffee I've had.

Best banh mi and best vietnamese coffee. I've been to many banh mi places from all over and in Seattle. Have not found a good place. This is the best both location. Its much cleaner here i feel. I go here for just the coffee. Banh mi doesn't taste dry. It doesn't taste greasy. The restraunt is nice little bakery lots of other stuff. I think they make cakes? I saw a cake box. Definitely recommend.

I come here a lot to eat their banh mi, and always ordered #14 and add egg in it. Their bread is a little hard on the edge since it was crusty, but I'm ok with that. I wish their bread is not too puffy. I had their croissant and I forgot to eat for more than week because I left it on my desk. But it's weird because it didn't change the color or anything..It looks the same, it looks good still. I compare it with Costco's croissant, and their bread got mold easily if I didn't eat it for more than a week. Costco's croissant taste better too in my opinion, because they're softer and fresh. So I won't be getting anymore croissant from this place since that experience.

Da Bomb, I always order the #1, no jalapenos, and find an exotic looking drink to try. Good prices too.

Ok, so this is going to make me a complete hypocrite but I've been going back here again for their buns because there is no place on the west side of Portland that has Chinese buns. At least, not around where I live. And I won't be venturing to the east side just for a bun. However, they've now upped their price to $1.25 for the buns and sponge cakes, so just try going after 5 for the special (not on sponge cakes, though). Sometimes you luck out and there's still a good variety at that time.

Best baguette is so good. Their bread as you'd assume is to die for. The croissant sandwich is one of my favorites as well as the pork sandwich which comes with carrots cilantro and jalapeño inside. So yummy. The best part is how cheap it is. Good quality, great price. And the service is great too!

So good and so affordable. The bread has great crunch and you can get in and out for a quick lunch. My favorite is the #9 BBQ pork. They also sell Asian style pastry but tends to run out in the early afternoon. So if you want pastry get there early.

5 marvelous stars for the freshly baked, soft and crunchy crusty baguette on my bahn mi. The grilled chicken itself was tender but blah. It didn't look or taste grilled making the sandwich overall, OK. The pricing is what it should be for bahn mi, I paid $3.35 for chicken. $5 minimum for credit card which won't hard if you add a bubble tea to your order. The drinks looked really good and they have a large selection of flavors but I can't attest to its flavor. I'll be back for the baked goods!

Why am I obsessed with you? What is wrong with me? I tried quitting my bubble tea habit a long time ago and there I found about milk tea. Why are you so cruel to me? Then you keep on enticing me with your crunchy beef Banh Mi. On occasions that I skip meat you're still there alluring with with your pastries. You are cheap and irresistible. I hate you. Let go of my cravings!

  • Lena V.

I got the bbq pork banh mi and it was okay. The bbq pork didn't have much flavor. It tasted kind of bland. Everything else in it was good but just the pork. I've had much better banh mi.

Great sandwiches at a great price. If you go during lunch hours it will be pretty packed but you still won't have to wait that long for your food. If you like bubble tea this is a great place for that too.

  • Jujube Y.

I love love love bubble tea, the honeydew with bubble was perfect for the hot weather today. I like how they make it more like a slushy than just milk tea. Friendly staff and fast service. Also noted very affordable and tasty looking baguettes, I will definitely try some next time.

Not too shabby. It is really like Vietnamese fast food. You order at the counter, they call out your number, you bus your table, etc. The veggie bahn mi is just fine, but I don't think it will give anyone cravings. I think if you dine in, there should be something like a plate underneath the sandwich, instead of just putting in a sandwich bag, because it is messy. But you can't complain when it so very cheap, like $3.25 cheap. The Avocado shake was much more crave-able than the sandwich. I wouldn't make a special trip out to Beaverton, but if I were at Target nearby I'd probably stop in again. $5 minimum for credit cards

Location: Very convenient location off Cedar Hills alongside the mass of food and shopping in the area beside another couple of Asian restaurants (including the aptly named Pho King Good). Parking can get a bit tricky around lunchtime, but even so I've never had trouble finding a parking spot. Might have to walk a bit further, but there's always parking available. The ambiance inside is tidy, clean, and exudes the sense of tasty efficiency that is Vietnamese fast food. There's a real neighborhood bakery feel here too, with plenty of tasty goods on display. There's plenty of seating, which even includes some outdoors seating, which is much appreciated during Portland's beautiful Summer months. Food: Let me put it to you this way - (unbelievably) I had Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette Sandwiches) for the first time in my life at this location a mere month ago, and since I've had Banh Mi an average of 3-4 times a week. However, in my newfound lust for this genre of sandwiches, I've already tried branching out at home in the San Francisco Bay Area and I've discovered this place is true to its name - it really is *Best* Baguette, and remains my favorite place to grab Banh Mi. Let's take a look at the fundamentals of what makes this Banh Mi great. The bread is advertised as "baked hourly," and one can believe it after a taste. Toasty on the outside, soft on the inside, and as someone who loves his carbs, incredibly satisfying. The veggies are fresh (including the pickled radish) and they create a perfect balance of cilantro and sauce flavor. To top it off, the meats are quality. I'm not sure if one can improve on pate and head cheese, but the grilled meats (and tofu!) are outstanding, particularly the grilled pork. Definitely give the grilled pork Banh Mi a try - you won't be disappointed, and it's not nearly as rich as the traditional pate+head cheese combination. If you're vegetarian, the Vegetarian Banh Mi with pieces of baked tofu is also excellent and satisfying. Other baked items, pastries, and beef stew are also spot-on. The portion size for the beef stew might be a bit on the smallish side, but Beef Stew + Whole Baguette makes for a pretty hearty meal if you're looking for a change-up. Service: With food this good, I normally wouldn't really care about the level of service, but the staff is polite and the service fast. Those sandwiches come out very quickly - there are some trained cookies back there in the kitchen. Value: This is where it gets ridiculous(ly good). I have never understood how Banh Mi everywhere is so cheap (especially considering the freshly baked bread, the generous ingredients, etc.), but $3.30 each for a substantial 6-8 inch sandwich is a steal. What's more is you can make it a meal for just $2 more, which means you also get one of their baked pastries (Red Bean and Mung Bean Buns, Strawberry Croissants, etc.) and soft drink (with unlimited refills). All that for little more than $5 is crazy for someone from NorCal, so I make sure always to at least tip to $6. The Quality to Value ratio doesn't get much better for lunch. Overall: I've often been labeled "a sandwich guy," and I do enjoy a great sandwich that's fresh and sits light in the stomach. At Best Baguette you get one heck of a sandwich at nearly half the price of a place like Subway (which was mindblowing when I first thought seriously about it). It's incredible value for incredible food, and is my new Go-To place for an incredible sandwich. A solid 4 stars.

First off, I've been going to best baguette since it opened many years ago. I had been switching off going to Tan Tans and Best Baguette for my vietnamese sandwich fix. What I'm impressed with is just the variety of sandwiches they have, as well as all the other goodies they have in the store. I usually get an avocado shake while I'm there -- it is SO good. They also have a number of different vietnamese desserts and bakery/bread items to go with sandwiches and boba. The price point is very reasonable. While it has gone up over the years, it hasn't broken the bank or anything. They were also very thoughtful the most recent time I went, asking if I wanted the jalapenos on the side, because I always forget that they are in there. It definitely makes for a great lunch place, especially if you are in a rush because the food comes out really fast.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches!! They are so simple yet so good. The bread is so soft and flakey. If u never had this before this is the best in town. They're hours are pretty good and they have other options for food. The teas is not my favorite in town. Their deserts are pretty good.

Princess' dad has been coming here a lot lately with a coworker. It's cheap, it's filling, it's fast. He likes it. He doesn't really like much. So when he was describing it to Princess, she said, "I want one." Today was the day. We were in a bad mood alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day. I don't know about you, but I don't cook when I'm ticked off. We grabbed the brother in law ( he never gets out without us), and went in for some bahn mi and bubble tea. The three of them got bubble thai iced tea. Princess, her first bubble tea, not a fan. She loves Thai iced tea, but not the bubbles. Go figure. ( I hate the tapioca balls, so I'm not a fan either, but I kept that mostly to myself). Bahn mi was another story, she and I got BBQ pork, and she liked it, especially the daikon, cilantro, and carrot mixture they put on it ( we held the jalapenos this time). I liked mine too, as usual. Brother in law had shredded pork and husband had grilled chicken. We noted they have curried chicken with baguette for less than $6. Have to try that another day. Our four sandwiches, with chips and drinks ( bubble tea costs more than the bagettes, BTW) came to $28. It's clean, it was full of families, the staff are mostly friendly and efficient. You order at the counter, you get your bahn mi in a paper sleeve. It's not fancy. Just good. Seriously, I could eat a pile of daikon and carrots without the bread or meat. Yum. I bet Princess could too. Now, what to do about dinner? still cranky, still not cooking.

We were next door at Pho King eating and decided we would drop by after lunch and check it out. It is more like a cafeteria setting, you order at the window and I don't know if they deliver it to your table or you get it yourself as we got a couple of sandwiches to go. I got a Club Sandwich on Croissant and my gosh it was good. It was full of meat and cheese and I think it was about $5.00, a heck of a deal. It was a large sandwich and I could only eat half. It is a great value, and a tasty sandwich, I am sure I will be back!

I used to like the Vietnamese baguette here at Best baguette when they started the grand opening here in Portland many years ago. Over time, I feel like they changed the recipe in the dough of the baguette itself that makes the inside of the baguette so light and crunchy without the chewy and tender taste. I was stuck with this until Lees sandwich opened their first store in southeast Portland. Lees sandwich baguette is much better and tasted similar to what Best Baguette first started. Now with Lees sandwich in town, I would prefer to go there. As far as the ham, cha lua and pate, they are all similar. The key is in the baguette itself. I hope lees sandwich don't change the recipe of the baguette.

Been going here for years - still is my go to even with Lee's sandwiches opening in Portland. Love the bread, fresh and crunchy. I'm very particular on how my bánh mi is made, the ingredients need to be placed in a way that they would be evenly disturbed in every bite. It's a hit or miss -depends on who makes it but the taste is still there. One thing I'll aslo comment on is that they seem to be putting too much of that mayo/cream sauce - especially how it's congregated at the ends of the sandwich, gives it a really fatty bite when you bite into a chunk of the sauce. very good sandwiches, just some minor suggestions and the prices have gone up 20 cents! Still a good deal but they're closer to $4 now rather than $3 like before.

Best baguette's Vietnamese banh mis are so yummy and consistently made! They use long, skinny French baguettes (the bread is baked perfectly) and fill it with various meats, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, and jalepeños. The #1 ($3.35) is the special, filled with traditional vietnamese meats like head cheese, ham, and pork roll. It's my favorite, I always get this one! Things you may or may not want to request: -Veggies in or out, depending on how soon you will eat your baguette (leave them out if it'll be awhile or your baguette will get soggy) -No jalepeños (if you can't handle that heat like me) -No mayo (if that creamy goodness ain't your thing) -No soy sauce (to reduce your daily sodium intake) They also sell bubble tea, but don't get it (or get it without the boba pearls, they are way too soft and overcooked).

Love this place! I got the #9 bbq pork I think? Great prices and delicious fresh Vietnamese sandwiches. I always ask for extra veggies for .25 because they really enhance the flavor of the sandwich. I tried the Vietnamese coffee and it was way too sweet for my taste. It was delicious but I felt so guilty drinking it. If you are not watching your weight go for it!

CHEAP & DELICIOUS BANH MI SAMMIES Best Baguette is a local favorite and go-to place for Vietnamese Banh Mi sammies. I usually come here to grab a sammie or two (for a second meal) since it's convenient and easy to eat while I study or just don't have time to cook. Banh Mi prices range from $3.15 - $5.45 depending on the flavor you order. Majority of the sammies are less than four bucks. [devour] *BEST BAGUETTE SPECIAL (#1 on menu) - $3.35; **4 STARS** The Best Baguette Special is the most popular item ordered. It contains your common meat fillings such as pate, ham, and pork roll as well as head cheese. Your baguette is slathered with their "house mayo" along with pickled veggies, cilantro, jalapeno and soy sauce. I love the fact that the bread is also toasted! *GRILLED PORK (#4 on menu) - $3.35; **4 STARS** This sammie has thinly sliced pieces of pork, which have been marinated in their lemongrass-soy dressing. It's quite flavorful and savory. Just like their other sammies, your baguette is slathered with their "house mayo" along with pickled veggies, cilantro, jalapeno and soy sauce. A friend brought me to Best Baguette and as a result, I have dragged many of my friends here, too! Where else can you find a tasty sandwich on delicious bread for only a couple dollars? And I don't mean $6-$7, I mean under $4! I am pretty much addicted to the #4 sandwich and even if I'm not that hungry, I make room. This summer, they had fresh watermelon juice drinks and it was awesome. The people are very nice and I have never had a bad meal!

A great bargain sandwich that actually tastes good! Today was my first visit and I'm a fan. I got the #12 (vegetarian bahn mi) with jalapenos. Obviously I added siracha to it as well! It is a huge sandwich. While not filled to the brim with ingredients, it doesn't need to be, the sandwich will fill you up. While perhaps not the very best veggie bahn mi sandwich I've ever had, it was tasty and a great deal! You really can't beat the price! Plus, they make their bread fresh daily and the baguette the sandwich was on was fresh and warm, soft on the inside and flaky on the outside. Perfect! They have a huge selection of sandwiches including breakfast sandwiches, Vietnamese sandwiches, as well as "regular" sandwiches (i.e. turkey, ham, cheese, etc.) They also serve boba teas, a selection of coffees, various pastries, fresh bread and rolls to go and other treats! I will be back...and often!

Best Baguette is A-OK in my book. It's not the greatest, but for the price it's hard to beat. $3.50 or so will get you a giant baguette sandwich. All of their prices are fair but the sandwich is definitely the best deal. The place is clean. Staff is friendly, and they are pretty quick to serve. Pictures adorn the menu so you can view more or less what you are ordering. My only qualm is ingredients are not explained on menu....or at least not the giant board menu. I ordered the #4 grilled pork banh mi and a coffee bubble tea. It cost me only $7.50 which wasn't too bad! The coffee bubble tea was frozen and blended which I wasn't expecting but it didn't taste bad. Just reminded me of a frapucinno. My #4 with some siracha added was delightful. Lots of food on a fresh made baguette was awesome. I wish they had noted it had mayo on it however. I loathe mayo. Good thing was that there wasn't a ton on there so I could easily scrape it off. Other than that, there wasn't a ton of meat on my sammy, but it was still good. Pork was seasoned well...a bit fatty for my taste but good. There are lots of options aside from banh mi and lots of things you may not otherwise find in a grocer....like their fresh made viet breads, fresh sugar cane juice, etc.

I always order the tofu sandwich. As a vegetarian, I don't have a lot of options to choose from. But more than anything, I simply love their baguette bread. They are freshest I've ever tasted in the Portland area. As much as I enjoy eating here, I do not understand why a tofu sandwich costs the same as a beef or chicken sandwich.

Amazing value. I paid $3.20 for one of the best Bahn Mis I've ever had. The baguette is light, airy and crunchy, fresh vegetables and not at all scary, delicious meats. Go here! If you are on a budget or just looking for a quick bite. This place is absolutely worth a try.

My family has been coming here for the past several years. The prices are amazing and the food is fabulous. Our household is my husband and I, three kids, and my mom, and everyone like something different but we all love this place. I used to always get the pork bahn mi but I recently switched to getting the shrimp sandwich but swapping out the veggies with the asian style. So shrimp and cheese but with the veggies that come with the vietnamese style sandwich. It's divided asian sandwiches on the right side of the menu, the non asian styles are on the left. They have the only good boba I've ever had in Portland, the red bean is delicious and is actually sounding really good on this hot summer day! My vegetarian son loves the #12 which is tofu and veggies and my 5 & 3 year olds love the #5 which is beef. Make sure to specify no jalapenos if you don't want them, otherwise you might be in for a surprise when you bite in! They also have delicious croissants, sweet buns, raising bread and a few desserts. My mom loves to get the sugar cane juice and my husband loves the Thai tea. Some staff is friendlier than others. I should say some are just ok and some are really friendly and make me like the place even more. Last year, for our daughter's 4th birthday we bought 20 sandwiches and had them cut in 4th's to serve at her party and it was a big hit among a crowd that had mostly never had their food before. Eat in, or take out, I'm SO glad for Best Baugette to be a quick drive away. The best alternative to fast food EVER, with prices you can't beat!

We live about two blocks from this place but would drive miles to go there. It's an inexpensive Go-to for any night of the week when we don't feel like cooking. Fast, inexpensive and most of all delicious!

While in Beaverton today I came across Best Baguette, it is a place I have heard about but never had tried. So today was the day. Of course I had to do a Bahn Mi. I had the grilled pork . It is "Thinly sliced pork marinated in a lemon-grass soy dressing" The was bun soft yet crunchy, pork was flavourful and the ingriedents fresh. I also had a mango bubble tea. It hit the spot. I'll be back.

On a recent trip to the suburban enclave of Beaverton I stopped in for some banh mi. I had been here once before and thought it was a great price and that the vegetarian bahn mi was decent. I basically had the same experience. I don't think it's work the trek alone, but if I am in the area again I will be back!

I've been coming to this place for a few years now. It is the first French Vietnamese sandwich shop that I've tried, and I think it is soooo good. It's a whole new culinary world. :) The staff are generally friendly, and the menu is very organized. Coke products too, which is a plus. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Used to love coming here for the Vietnamese sandwiches but the quality had gone downhill...they have bubble tea which is pretty average. Good location in central Beaverton, good option when you are wanting a quick bite to eat

This is the best banh mi place in town. The bread is perfectly light and crisp on the outside. My favorite is the BBQ pork but be sure to add pate to it for extra flavor and creaminess. The meatball banh mi is good as well. The spring rolls with peanut sauce are a nice side. The avocado shake is a nice treat that is not too sweet. If you want a sweeter drink, try the sour sop shake and add jelly to it. It's a casual spot with dine-in seating but I usually get my food and drink to go during lunch time.

Second time coming here and I think it was awesome! This place has very authentic Vietnamese sandwiches. I had the #12 Asain Vegtable and it was incredible. The baguette was warm and pillow soft inside with a very crisp crust. Super flavorful and inexpensive. If you want a french inspired bahn MI try the number 1. As close to what you are going to get in the streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The place was packed but the staff moved the line almighty great. If you are tired of subway, quiznos, jimmy johns this is the place to go.

My whole family enjoys eating here, which is saying a lot. We only order the Asian sandwiches, but I'm willing to bet the French sandwiches are just as delicious. I also recommend their Avocado smoothie and Iced Milk Coffee. If you aren't sure what to order try the #4 Grilled Pork (without jalepenos if you don't like it spicy) and get a large sugar cane juice. You won't be disappointed.

I have consistently come here for the delicious banh mis for years now. (Which are still delicious, btw) I also really enjoy their various pastries but if you go after 1 the pickings are slim. They also do a decent milk tea but the boba pearls are a bit inconsistent in texture. (meh) I'm knocking down a star because the last time I was there they decided to "mop" more like flood the restaurant in the middle of the day. Honestly, it was kind of gross because I literally had to out run a wave of dirty water while waiting for my food. Regardless, I'll probably go again.

  • Surbhi M.

This place rocks! How often do you find Vietnamese sandwiches for $3.95 anymore? It was the perfect sandwich, and little did I know they also offer non banh mi sandwiches, boba, some fresh juices, and some pastries/breads. This is a great spot to grab something quick and actually good. One note of caution: Lunch time gets busy, so try to avoid the rush! I'll definitely be back!

Went for the first time the other day with my family and had great food at a great price. We ordered three sandwiches and a Bubble Tea, and it cost less than $15 all together. I can't tell you the last time I've been able to feed my two children and husband all for less than $15. I ordered their lemongrass chicken based on the cashier's recommendation, and it was delicious. I also ordered the Taro Bubble Tea on her recommendation, and everyone in my family loved it. (We only ordered one because I didn't know if it would be a hit or a miss. It was definitely a hit). We'll be back for sure, and I highly recommend it. It's so much yummier than Subway or Panera, so if you're looking for a sandwich, try here instead!

Love this banh mi place! I was introduced to this place by my friend a few years ago and was instantly hooked. I don't think you can beat delicious $3 sandwiches on freshly baked french bread. I always go for #4, the grilled pork sandwich, with extra jalapenos (and yes, they are HOT). Their bubble tea is great too! The tapioca pearls are always perfect cooked throughout, which sometimes is not the case in other stores. Thai bubble tea is my fave, mainly because I'm too lazy to experiment with the 20+ different flavor/bubble combination that they have. But that's not enough! They also have great other assortment of snacks like various buns (BBQ pork, custard, taro, etc) and other small deserts. Their prices are so reasonable too! Sometimes I would order extra stuff just because I always wonder if they're making enough money with the low prices of the sandwich. I don't want this shop to ever close!

The Lemongrass chicken baguette was awesome! Savory and sweet with the veggies and delicious bread. I cannot believe how cheap it was! This place is a go-to for sure. It really beats fast food.

Tasty place for a quick, cheap lunch/dinner under $5. Ordered their roast beef banh mi. Lots of beef, veggies and jalapeno. Bread was deliciously crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also tried Taro bubble tea, it was ok. Drinks were same price as most of the sandwiches. I would just get sandwich next time to get more value. Inside was pretty cute decor, I like it more than the 82nd location one cause parking is easier here. High recommend for quick on the go lunch.

  • Cvetiliana B.

One thing not so good here is their spring rolls. The rice paper was not fresh. The shrimp are so full of poo (or veins depending on who you ask) I threw out each piece! The pork OK but dry. There are NO sprouts and carrots in it, just noodles (TONS of them) and not fresh lettuce. I make these at home so I know how they should taste. Their desserts look good but too often when I get one it suffered from serious freezer burn so now of course I don't get them. I hate to remove a star but for these issues I have to. The sandwiches and fresh avocado bubble tea still rock and the lady cashier is a sweetheart.

I have had Bánh mì in many places before but I must say this place makes the best ones so far. Also this is the only place I know of (around Beaverton area) where they prepare Sugar Cane juice. They also sell Asian Pastries and Boba teas. In Summary if you wanna have a great dinner within 10$ this is the place for you..

  • Phong D.

I'm shocked and embarrassed that I haven't reviewed this place yet. "AAA" summarizes why I love this place. A - accessible. Their Beaverton location is in a really convenient location. There's plenty of parking and they're always open when I'm jonesing for a Banh mi sandwhich. A - authentic. If I were blindfolded, knocked unconscious, and then served a #1, I'm sure that I would have woken up in Vietnam with a delectable sandwich to help sooth my wounds. The crispy baguette is a wonderful French vessel for transporting pickled vegetables, pate, headcheese, and pork to my mouth. If the #1 doesn't pickle your daikon, then the 25 other sandwiches should fill your sub-shaped void. Sometimes I'll try the #14 which has pork and fried egg if I'm feeling wild. A - affordable. $3.25 for the #1. The cost-benefit analysis is a no brainer. I often buy 2 sandwiches at once and use the "no credit card for orders less than $5" as an excuse. Other random tips: these subs hold up very well when traveling. These subs tasted fantastic on top of Multnomah Falls. My friend has even flown back to CA with the #14s and they did fine. They seem to do better in a plastic bag. I've had some that stored in a ziplock bag and the baguette became a little soft. Vive le banh mi!

I'm not sure if I have high expectations for banh mis because I live in Seattle... but I thought the sandwiches here were mediocre. Sure, they're cheap and decent, but... it wasn't like the ones in Seattle. The bread itself was good, but a lot thinner than other baguettes I've had. I had the special combo and the meat tasted yummy and fresh, but my overall experience wasn't spectacular or anything. The lady at the front desk was pretty rude when I asked her where the straws were... she just told me they were on the other side, without attempting to help me grab one. Also, don't get the tacos. They were super bland and tasteless. It needed some kind of sauce or something because I was just eating dry meat with some picked veggies. Stick to the baguettes if you're going to eat here. But this place is still nice because they have seats and a variety of Asian drinks like bubble tea and the canned stuff. I've just had better banh mi experiences in general.

The only and best Vietnamese banh mi in the Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro area. Moving from LA to here, made it really difficult to find decent Vietnamese food and this place is one of the best to get their Vietnamese sandwiches. They also have curry and I will definitely be back to try it out.

for the price, a really good deal. $3.50 for a decent sized Banh-mi. Tried the #1 and #3, the chicken Banh mi was particularly good, nice crispy fresh bread and filled with fresh veggies and chicken. Good place to stop for a quick bite if you are in the neighborhood.

I was steered to Best Baguette after looking at the tons of stellar reviews for this place. I tried my first Banhmi sandwich at this place. Got a grilled chicken Banhmi which was pretty good and I fell in love with it immediately. I liked the taste of the medley of smoked flavored chicken, pickled carrots, jalapaneoes and freshly baked baguette. All this for $3/sandwich. Nobody can beat their price and taste. I also tried their Strawberry bubble tea which was ok. I tried a bubble tea for the first time here as well but didn't like it that much. I saw that they have a Chicken curry soup/Baguette combo which looked good in one of the photos. I should give it a try sometime. Ambiance - 4 Service -4 Food - 5 Price - 5

This place is good! Not use to the $3.50 price for Bahn Mi, because in California it 's only $1.50. The BBQ Pork tastes so good and I just love the vietnamese vegetables they put in it, and Shrimp Bahn Mi. Will come here again! Loving this place!

Great place for a quick stop and lunch for under $5. They have a selection better than many in town... it is a fight to the finish Best Baguette vs. Tan Tan.... let the cooking begin....

I've been coming here for several years and I still love it. I'd go more frequently if parking didn't suck so bad. Being next to Hall Street Grill, you can forget about finding a spot during happy hours. Sorry, I just have to deduct a star for that... My favorite is #4 - grilled pork, I don't know what they put it in and I honestly don't care, it's just so stupid good. #5 grilled beef is good as well, but to me, it's not that much better to justify $1 more than grilled pork. But any sandwich here is such a killer deal compared to ANY other sandwich places. My very fav part of their sandwiches is their bread. It really is the "best" baguette. It doesn't sit in your stomach like a brick the way the usual sandwich bread tends to do; rather, it's like biting into... air. (oops, gotta wipe the drool off my face) I also love getting their pastries, especially (I don't know what it's called, but) sponge cake? usually right next to the cash register - only $1! seriously? seriously! Even when they raised the price quite a bit compared to a couple of years ago, I appreciate that they kept this baked goodies price same as before. Serious yum yum.

IN THE WORLD OF 'NAMEOLOGY' (My tiny tribute to Boondock Saints) THEIR NAME DOES NOT LIE. IT IS SIMPLY THE TRUTH. Gee, I used to work over on the East Side (thank heaven on earth I don't make that mind jelling commute anymore) and started out eating at the BB on that side of town - so dang happy to find it - I brought a bunch of diff friends/coworkers with me and most of them weenied out and ate a regular 'American' style sandwich on a baguette. NOTE: If you can buy the sandwich at Subway (ex. Ham & Cheese), don't order one here - go to SUBstandardWAY and get one of those. Sheesh! Be wild and order something off the beaten path. Way more fun, way more taste for the price. Trust me, don't wuss out. I always go with some spicy stuff (I have ZERO idea what it's called) - that has chopped fresh jalapenos and such in it on my PATE sandwich. Yes, yes - the pate is a perfect foil for the bread. It's like $3 bucks or some ridiculous price. CHEAP HEAVEN IS HERE. (light glows from above) THE DOWN SIDE: do not - seriously - do not eat these things anywhere that you don't want baguette crumbs - the bread is so light inside, yet perfectly crispy on the outside - such that you end up spewing crumbs all over hell (or the inside of your friends hot car that they just had detailed). The Westside location (BTown on Hall) is a bit smaller, but the food is exactly the same - still super duper good. I bet you'll like it. LASTLY - This is a stand and order and wait and take, nothing fancy at all - think of it as bakery service. Order fast and move aside til your number comes up.

Okay it pains me to rate this place only 3 stars cause the women behind the registers were superbly friendly. They even let us try some durian, which is only good in the eye of the beholder, and I am not one of those beholders. We ordered a green tea, blended boba smoothie and a strawberry-mango, blended boba smoothie. The green tea smoothie was great! It was a matcha -ish flavor. My strawberry-mango smoothie was extremely sweet. We are talking it tasted like a Starburst kinda sweet. Which isn't bad if that is what you are looking for, but sadly it isn't what I was wanting. We didn't order food. So next time I go I'll be getting some delicious sounding sandwiches and pastries.

This sandwich has the most perfect bite size! It's the not usual size of your regular banh mi, a bit skinnier and the bread---OH THE BREAD! perfect texture and "softness" for that delectable crunch. 18min drive from downtown Portland, if you are heading or going to pass the Beaverton Area and want a light delicious lunch, i suggest dropping by. Portion: Yes it's smaller than your typical sized banh mi, but it definitely works for me. Grab one of their many delicious drinks available like shakes, teas, bubble tea and it's the light lunch you were looking for..BUBBLE TEA & Thai Iced Tea was legit too..For me, the sandwich is a little bit more pricey than the usual banh mi, but judging from the wait time and the amount of people that come in and out in the restaurant--it doesn't hinder them at all. Favorites: They have so much sandwiches to choose from, it's a bit overwhelming walking in and looking at the vast menu but tried 2 favorites of people- $3.25+ SAIGON BACON (bbq pork) and $3.25+ GRILLED PORK sandwich, which both did not disappoint! Their daily special Beef Stew was super tender. Me and my sister loved dipping our sandwiches into the goodness. You can tell we really like it because we went back there TWICE in one day. I hate to admit it but my sister was also right when she said I will crave it after I have had it. lol!

I gotta write an update since I come here too much. Don't take a look at the number of my check-ins - it's ALMOST embarrassing...but it's true. I come here too much & I can never get enough of their sandwiches (sad side note: I cannot spell sandwiches without spell check. Failblog). Bread seems to be much more consistently fresh anytime of day than when I first reviewed this place & you don't wait around too long even during the lunch rush. There's a billion choices but my favorite still is the #3 grilled chicken, veggies in and don't you dare touch my food with those jalapenos!

Man oh man do we love these sam'miches! Group of us @ work ordered a HUGE carry out from them and what a feast that was. Everybody ravenously destroyed everything set before them (out of about 25 menu items between the Vietnamese and French selections, we ordered about half of each). I wear my shame and my condiment and pork drippings w/mixed feelings, but mainly, with satiety. What an incredible "best-value" experience for the whole dang-gum crowd! Our tummies and our wallets sang their praises to the heavens. We liked the food and the service at West side every bit as much as that on East side... so why does this location get 4 stars, v. 5 stars, already given to E. Powell? Two words: Drive-through. This is far too great of a factor to overlook, for those of us always so busy and on the move. The drive through really is worth a star by itself! The building that West side is in simply isn't set up for drive-through, as is, but they could move to their own 5 star level of excellence, if they offered delivery, ala Jimmy John's? Then we could let a more evenly, and impossible-to-resolve debate ensue, hosted by Portland Wrestling's very own living legend, Don Cos, as to"Which Best Baguette truly reigns supreme--- East Side, or West Side? YOU decide!"

Better than Lee Sandwich, a bit more money. They have beef choices not just the BBQ pork and other porkish meats. Nice location, good looking store very clean. We always grab a few Lee Sandwiches if we are near Westminster area, so it was nice to find a new version of the great Vietnamese Sandwich. We both loved the beef version better than the BBQ Pork.

For those of you who have never had a Vietnamese sandwich before, let me tell you a story. Many years ago, my uncle came to visit for a few days. He had never tasted or even heard of Vietnamese sandwiches before, but went with my parents to try one before he left. He ended up packing an entire suitcase full of the things to bring home with him. Moral of the story? Eat a Vietnamese sandwich. Although I usually visit the Best Baguette in Portland, the Beaverton location also deserves five stars. The employees here are very friendly and will remember you if you return. And the sandwiches are just as mind-blowing. BB's grilled pork always hits the spot (especially with the extra meat option), and it's served on heavenly French bread. Or try the meatball sandwich for something simple but filling. To wash everything down, I like to go for an avocado bubble tea smoothie or Thai bubble tea. I'm not sure what I like most about Best Baguette: yummy sandwiches, inviting atmosphere, or sweet boba. Oh well, I guess I can live with indecision.

Love this place. Quick service, great food, great drinks, and very inexpensive! My only complaint is the kitchen is quite noisy, but that isn't too big of a factor for me. I love coming here for a cheap and filling lunch!

I wasn't that stoked on this place. After reading all the top-notch reviews, I stopped here for lunch on a Friday. The place wasn't too busy, which was nice. I ordered the pork Bahn Mi...pretty traditional, and was underwhelmed. I actually had to open my sandwich to make sure they didn't forget the meat! They real skimped on the ingredients. I felt like I was eating a loaf of bread with a tiny morsel of flavor. The best thing is the price. Really affordable, and I could see a lot of families coming here because of it.

4.5 stars! I love the fact that Best Baguette makes it easy for me to get my Vietnamese Banh Mi fix - quick. They took a simple idea (Vietnamese food, drinks, sandwiches), and did a great job of marketing it to the general public. With a drive-through and super cheap prices, it allows me to fulfill my cravings in my pajamas without beaucoup $$$. The sandwiches are really tasty, fresh, and in my opinion, representative of just good authentic Vietnamese food. I used to eat sardine baguettes all the time as a kid, and the ones here taste just like the ones my parents used to make. And I should note that I LOVE sardines more than the average person, so I always order one - or two. Or three. Okay, I usually buy four- two for dinner that night, one for breakfast the next day, and one for lunch! My poor boyfriend always tries to keep me at arm's length after I eat, but I shower him with kisses anyway. Love me, gotta love my Best Baguette.

I'm a big fan of banh mi and I enjoyed Best Baguette. It wasn't the best banh mi I've ever had, but it was certainly quite delicious. I ordered the chicken banh mi, and it came with the customary lemongrass and regular veggies. I also really liked the pho here. What I liked most was how cheap the prices were! For just $7, I enjoyed a savory and very big sandwich and a medium-sized boba. I would certainly visit again.

  • Jiyun K.

The sandwich was good enough... Kind of on the skimpy side compared to others I've had elsewhere. For being a bakery though, I was expecting much better bread and pastries. The eclair was very stale and not very good at all. I'm having caloric consumer remorse:-(

I have been here many times and normally it's great. Today I waiting 30 minutes for two sandwiches. Not sure why there was such a back up in the kitchen but they need to work it out.

What do you expect? Of course I had to give it four stars--it has two of my favorite things in the world--great baguettes and fresh, yummy, chocolatey eclairs! I had to give it four stars! My husband likes the special, but I'm not a Vietnamese girl, so I went with the Salami. Both were very nice...not too much, not overstuffed. Perfect. And the eclair was --well the icing on the cake, so to speak. The place is neat and clean, the food comes quickly, and you can't beat the price!

So yummy, inexpensive, consistent, and convenient. I pretty much love this place. The location isn't awesome, but I can ignore that and simply enjoy my delicious, and under $4 lunch. I come here every week, and everything I order is good. There is another location, but this one is better in every way. I don't know why, but even though the SE location is super close to me, I far prefer driving all the way out to Beaverton for yummy sandwiches here.

Another place that drop a star or two. The food is still good, but has gone down hill from its prime. My last few visits, the baguette sandwich (veggie with tofu and grilled beef another time) was not as tasty like they changed their sauce recipe or something and the amount of veggies and other stuff in the baguette went from enough to fill you up (like maybe I just ate at a buffet) to where's the food (like hello I'm still starving). The service is still good and they are very organized. I'm not as impressed anymore and it is definitely not as good as it use to be. Now just 3 stars.

After hearing that this was a popular place to get bahn mi, we decided to arrive after the usual lunch rush. I was surprised how crowded the place was at 1:30 pm on Saturday. The line was almost out the door. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the food to be prepared, but that ok with me - I just rocked out to the George Michael and Bryan Adams tunes they had playing on the radio. We both got the #4 Grilled Pork sandwich. I thought the taste was superb. The baguette was so fresh. The veggies were awesome. I wished there was a bit more pork in the sandwich. And maybe a few more jalapeños, too. I stole the ones out of my boyfriend's sandwich to get a little more heat. I ordered a passion fruit bubble tea. The passion fruit part was good, but the bubbles were a bit mushy. I like them to offer a bit more resistance. I would have expected top notch boba from this place since they seemed to send out at least one bubble tea drink with each order. I'll give the bubble tea another shot during my next visit. Overall, I felt that the quality and value of the food were definitely there. I can't wait to go back to Best Baguette!

just got 3 sandwiches "to go" from this place: 1. Best Baguette Special 12. Asian Vegetable 25. Nem Nuong All 3 are tasty great sandwiches. Very fresh. I will definitely come back.

Really good Vietnamese sandwiches....I always get the grilled chicken #3 with extra jalapeno and an avocado shake...delicious

First off they have decent prices. The Bahn mi are pretty good. I had a better one at the food carts downtown, but the food here was good enough that I will come back. In short. Try it. The prices and convenience alone are worth the trip.

This place really has the best baguettes! :) And is cheap! We tried several and, IMHO, #1 (special) was the best. Iced Coffee, though it cost as much as a sandwich, was good too. I will definitely go back. Got to try out their pastries ($1 and up, I think) some day.

The price points are unbeatable for sure. Bahn mi is straight . . . nothing out of the ordinary I suppose.

I was kinda excited about this place because of all the hype but after the lunch we had today I am not impressed. We had the grilled pork sandwich (not bad and good flavor) but shredded pork sandwich was very dry and tasteless. The tacos where the same. Oh so dry. The pickled carrots and onions where pretty blah and man do they pile em on to ''fill'' the sandwich in. Is it a carrot sandwich? I didn't get it. My overall conclusion was ''ehhhh! ''

There's only 2 places I know of that serve banh mi on the Westside. That's enough for 4.5 stars on it's own. Freshly baked baguettes and under $3 put it over the top. The pickled veggies on a banh mi always rounds out the flavor. One can only hope the hipsters and fusioners don't get a hold on banh mi and turn it into another $10 portland sandwich. Step away from the $5 foot long and taste a sandwich made with flavor and love.

A bahn mi is one of the best ultimate sandwiches ever made. You want the classic banh mi, order the number 1. It has EVERYTHING I loved as a kid. Pate, steamed pork, ham, head cheese, DELICIOUS Vietnamese mayo, pickled vegetables, and cilantro? OH YES BABY!!!!!!! The bread at best baguette was really light and crispy compared to what I had in the past. I like my bread a little bit staler, such that if I had a loose tooth I wouldn't be eating the sandwich. However, this is based on preference so I'm not going to dock any stars off this place. I had their avocado shake and it was yums. This had to be the best bahn mi I had when I lived in Portland. I tried a few bahn mi at the food trucks in SW Portland and they were mediocre at best because they lacked choices on their menu and because I wanted a sandwich with head cheese and pate.

Bahn Mi is one of Vietnam's greatest ambassadors. This Vietnamese-French sandwich is taking the country by storm. In the past I thought that Subway's $5 foot long couldn't be beat. However, Best Baguette in Beaverton has definitely made a sandwich convert out of me. Beaverton's Best Baguette has such a clean and pleasant interior. The walls are decorated with some real cool photos from Vietnam. The staff is friendly, polite, and attentive. Best Baguette looks and smells like a bakery. In addition to sandwiches Best Baguette has bread, rolls, and desserts for sale. Best Baguette has about 30 different types of sandwiches for sale. Most of them cost about $3.25. Some sandwiches are less than $3. Some recent additions are a Polish dog and a Vietnamese taco. How's that for a cultural fusion? For sandwiches we sampled the Saigon bacon and the avocado Bahn Mi. Both outstanding. So many flavors hitting you all at once. To wash down our baguettes we order some of Best Baguette's delicious bubble tea. Best Baguette offers a multitude of delicious bubble tea flavors. Best Baguette is a wonderful place to stop if you need a bubble tea fix. Fresh baked bread makes all the difference in the quality of a sandwich. The Vietnamese and the French have probably been baking fresh baguettes for sandwiches for years. Perhaps that's where Subway got the idea of fresh baked sandwich bread. Whatever, I'll be going to Best Baguette from now on for my sandwich needs.

I absolutely love this place. The price is just right for banh mi and they have "Boba". Its nice to be able to take a family of 4 to eat and not break the bank. The best part of the Banh mi is that the baquette is always fresh and perfectly cooked. Just crispy enough on the outside and soft on the inside.

I'm so spoiled when it comes to food in this town. I'm so spoiled in fact that at times I forget the dinning basics.... like don't order a 3$ pork sandwich in a strip mall. I used to get mad at my mom for ordering salads at sketchy diners and complaining about the quality. Well Duh Mom! Same can be said of this 3$ pork sandwich..what was I expecting..really? The meat was fatty and had an unsettling amount of gristle. If this is something you can look past, it's actually pretty good. I ended up taking all the meat off which was for the best. They have a vegetarian sandwich there I look forward to trying. I caution you against anything else... but as they say you get what you pay for.

any time I am in beaverton (or going to the airport) I eat at Best baguette. I want to marry their taro bubble tea and have extra marital affairs with their sandwiches. The bread is tasty and baked mostly fresh. I can never remember what I order so it is always a crap shoot. SOmetimes I score with the pork, other times I (insert a craps analogy for failure here. I don't gamble). Did I mention this place is cheap? It is. Just like Vietnamese sandwiches should be.

Wow! I always missed Lee's Sandwich from LA and I have found a great substitute! Cheap but delicious Bahn Mi... (prices range between $2.95 - 4.40) It's little far from my place but whenever I'm in the area I will buy one or two for lunch or dinner. Such great deal.

They make some BOMB sandwiches! #1 on the menu is my absolute favorite and I can eat this every single day. When I have visitors, this was the it place to take them to for some Vietnamese sandwiches that didn't do too much damage to our wallets. I have eaten Vietnamese sandwiches from San Gabriel, Bolsa, San Jose, San Francisco... this place beats them all, but it is comparable to one place in Oakland, CA (which I'll have to review another day). Best Baguette does a pretty good job on their french bread. I like the crunch on the outside and the soft and chewy texture of the bread itself. It all meshes so well with the ingredients they put in the sandwiches - I can't get over the ham and pate (#1 on the menu) - amazing flavors! And I very much like that they package the veggies in a bag so that the sandwiches don't get soggy if it's to-go. They also have sweet jelly drinks of all sorts, pastries and sweet buns for purchasing. And if you wanted a taste of home cooked beef stew, they have that as well, called "baw cawh."

Sweet good sammie's in my hood! I walked in and the smell of fresh bread hit me right away, oh yeah! I asked the gal there, since it was my first time there what should I try. She mentioned the #1 traditional or the grilled pork. The #1 has head cheese and yes as a lil white girl I was a bit freaked by that so I went with the grilled pork. $3.25 what?!?! Cheap eats! My sandwich was ready in a minute and I sat down and dug right in. Tender flavorful pork, crunchy thin sliced carrots, fresh jalapeños and something white and yummy nestled in a soft warm crunchy on the outside bread roll....WINNER!!! This was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten and truly a unique flavorful experience. Can't wait to try one of the others, the selection was HUGE.

I went to BB two times in a week. I wanted to try the differnt types. So I tried the pate bahn mi, the grilled pork with cruchy skin and the bbq pork. Not all at the same time. My fave is the bbq pork bahn mi....the meat was tasty and delicous. The pickled radish and carrots is my fave part. Baguette was good and was just a baguette, nothing more than that. I also got a taro bubble tea smoothie as I always try that at new places. Delicious! I would definitely go back and try more of the banh mi sandwiches, maybe even the american sandwiches they have. Overall, the place is clean and prices are good. They make the sandwiches to order so it takes a few extra minutes to get your order, especially when there is a line. Ill be back to try other stuff. Happy eating! Peace!

Ok this place is a hidden jewel in Beaverton. I LOVE Bahn Mi Sandwiches and rarely find a place where you can get delicious authentic ones. The variety on the menu is great, offering both authentic Vietnamese style sandwiches as well as more American style. I tried the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and not only was the meat flavorful and the veggies crisp but also the baguette was crunchy and fantastic. And, one sandwich is only $3.25, what a deal! The ambiance in the place isn't really much, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend going to eat in. However, if you're looking for a quick place to pick up a sandwich this is it!

i absolutely love vietnamese sandwiches. i especially love banh mi xa xiu. i always get it.. with extra veggies! i wish the veggies were just a little more pickled and the veggie baguette (bi chay) is good too. i also like the cha. it's all good! i personally prefer the one on powell and 82nd more than the one by the nike es.. but hey when you're on the westside, youll settle. i'd say this place is the best place to get vietnamese sandwiches in portland.. if we're talking southern CA i'd say Lee's.

What a great surprise. This place is great. The food is unique (to me), flavorful and inexpensive. The menu selection is good. I anticipate I will be a regular here. There is a large selection of Bubble drinks (Boba) and they are good ...so far.

*$5 minimum on all credit card charges. The only phrase I remember after trying this place a week ago is "DEAD SEA". I ordered the beef bahn mi with an iced tea since it was $5 minimum on all CCs. I think I consumed for than 100% of my daily value of sodium with that small sandwich. The beef may have been marinating in a salt water overnight; I could barely taste the beef itself. Also, cilantro was drenched in some kind of watery sauce (I think it was fish sauce), which attenuated the taste. A-OK.

I just want to preface this review with a warning: I might have a VERY HARD TIME not writing this whole review in CAPS... Best Baguette is SERIOUSLY AMAZING. I don't know why ANYONE would go to Subway anymore. Best Baguette is AMAZING! There is only one type of baguette bread as far as i know...it is white bread, but GOOD white bread at that, soft on the inside, fresh and crunchy crisp crust on the outside, DELICIOUS. There are so many sandwiches to choose from! There are Vietnamese sandwiches and more Americanized ones. Interestingly, the Vietnamese sandwiches are cheaper here than some of the more Americanized options! The BBQ Pork and Shredded Pork sandwiches are a STEAL at UNDER $3 each, and there are many other sandwiches that are under $3. Most of them come with a generous garnishing of tasty mixture of pickled carrots and daikon that tastes fresh and not too vinegary, fresh cilantro and slices of jalapeno, some also have sprouts (maybe mung bean) and lettuce. The sandwiches appeared to be over a foot long, and i was full when i was halfway through one of them! $6 for a day's worth of food is AWESOME! Their space is surprisingly huge too, with how big the space is and how INEXPENSIVE the sandwiches are i can't understand how they stay in business! One glimpse into the back showed me that they have a full sized industrial kitchen. I could see several giant chunks of meat in the back thawing and someone working on butchering them, which is not only IMPRESSIVE as HECK but probably also how they save on costs a little. The fact that they process, cook and flavor all of their own meat makes them so amazing to me They even have a couple of small deli cases with baked goods, meats, etc. and a couple of grocery shelves of different breads. GO HERE NOW. I MEAN IT.

3 1/2 stars. I didn't know there was a strong Vietnamese community here in Portland and was surprised when I found this bahn mi shop. And with terrific ratings here on Yelp. So knowing Vietnamese food like I know Vietnamese food I decide to give this place a try. When I walk in it looks nothing like an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. It's really clean and it looks like they've built some extremely efficient line to crank out Vietnamese sandwiches. I take a look at their menu and they've got a good selection. Surprisingly, I've never had sardines in one of my banh mi's so I decide to give this a try. It's really good. Wow, I was surprised. And ridiculously cheap. I mean ridiculously. Exactly, how a banh mi should be-ridiculously cheap. Like less than $4. So why not a 4 star rating? Because traditionally banh mi has pate in it. Mine didn't and I find this a really distinct thing between true authentic Vietnamese banh mi and non-authentic. It really makes a huge difference in taste to have pate in it. So no matter how good this sandwich is, it would have been better with pate.

Bomb dot com. Always order the chicken baguette. And seriously like three dollars? That's ridiculously cheap. Yum.

cheap, good quality sammiches! I love #1 and #11. add a bubble tea and it is perfect for a lunch or even a lighter dinner. The American styled sandwiches leave a bit to be desired, so stick with the Vietnamese ones!

I really like Best Baguette. The prices are REALLY affordable. I don't remember the last time I ate somewhere that I could buy TWO sandwiches for less than $10. That's awesome guys, keep up the good work. Also, they stay open pretty late too. I went in the other Sunday night at almost 9 o'clock (feeling bad about it) but the sandwiches at closing were still just as delicious as during the lunch hour. You guys are awesome!

Whoa. What a sandwich! I chose the #3, which is the grilled chicken Banh Mi. It was spectacular! The french bread was fresh, crispy on the outside while being soft and chewy inside. The combination of their house made pickled carrots, daikon, jalapeno, cilantro, house mayo and soy sauce is ... perfect! There really is no other way to describe it. AND, this thing was $2.95. Unheard of! There are other factors about BB that I really like - it's extraordinarily clean. They're friendly and exceedingly efficient, as well. They have a pastry cart with some fun stuff to pick from (like Hawaiian sweet rolls) behind the ordering counter that are fun to peruse while you're waiting for your sandwich. Suck it, Jimmy John's. There's ZERO reason to go there when Best Baguette is directly south of you on Hall Blvd. near Cedar Hills. Absolutely one of my new favorites.

We were just driving by the complex and found the name interesting and so my husband and I decided t ocheck it out. Best Bánh mì Sandwiches on the West-Syeeda! Go for the always great #1, or my favorite the #7 Saigon Bacon - it is so the bomb. Oh and don't miss out on the #25 Nem Nuong - it's not printed on the menu board because they ran out of space after #22 but it's a tasty pork salami type meat served warm, mmm good. And for you extreme adventure eaters try the #11 - Sardine. It's served with a tomato sauce, it's good and cheap too at $2.95 They have some pretty darn good viet frenchese bakery items as well as some average bubble tea drinks. Go Bánh mì or go home!

First I would like to thank the staff for not taking offense to my pronunciation of bahn mi xa xui . I must say that not only were they very friendly, they had my sandwich done in less than two minutes. No high pressured sales pitches to meal it or get any number of wonderful treats with the sandwich. Who can go wrong with a great bbq pork sandwich for under four bucks! The sandwich (for those who think its skimpy) was as big as my foot! I wear a woman's size ten. I also tried the flan. I like the custard style better than the cake style which is exactly what they serve. YUM! I will be back soon and frequently!

The entrance smelled like garbage. They were so slow. Slow at taking orders, slow at making sandwiches... I mean if you're going to be slow, at least make the sandwich good. I had a #1. I never in my whole life had a Vietnamese combo-meat sandwich that had soy sauce in it. I am very fed up with Asian restaurants that use soy sauce in foods that NEVER ask for it. Why does it need soy sauce? Is it to lure non-Asians? Where's my liver spread? Where's the mayo? Why is there hella carrots? Where's the meat? Why are all the "insides of the sandwich" all on one side of the bread? Can you please be more sloppy? I swear, this is the most saddest combo I've ever had. They should rename it to, "HELLA carrots and one slice of meat inside the left region of the sandwich-sandwich". Their milk bubble tea-oops, I meant their water was pretending to be milk tea (almost as bad as Bubble Bubble Tea). But the pearls were good though... I guess that deserves a star! Oh yeah, back to smells. So while my bf and I were eating, I guess some smart person was cleaning with Clorox with bleach-well it smelled like it, because after we left, that smell was stuck in my nose for 2 hours. Not coming back. Tan Tan's better. Oh, and did I mention? The entrance smells like garbage.

I don't go to new places in regards to food, glad I did with this place. Grilled chicken is what I get every time (cause I know it is good, so why try something new). Quiet but nice people working there. Also, cheap price makes it a safe bet, if you don't like it you wasted $4.

  • Brandon T.

I put it to you that these are the best foot long sandwiches that one can buy in the Portland area for under $3. To be honest, if they charged double what they do, I still wouldn't think twice about ordering one of these delicious bites of Bánh mì. As it is with the price so low I usually just get one to eat right away and two to go. Well I am usually ordering for two people so it turns out to be 6 sandwiches and a total of just about $17 + tip (much value for your money? I THINK SO!!!!!!!!)......... If you get your order to go then they will offer to bag your veggies separately. In this way you can store your sandwich for a couple of days without any worry that it will get soggy in the meantime. Another (really) cool thing is that if you ask for extra veggies, such as enough peppers to make it unbearably spicy, then they will just go ahead and make the addition FREE OF CHARGE. What other restaurant has ever given people the choice to make additions to their meal FREE OF CHARGE?! None, thats who..... So get your sandwiches spicy as hell itself and let your taste buds really know what hit em! They are also open 7 days a week so you can come in any time for your adventure into french-viet cuisine. The boba drinks are not the greatest, I have only tried food from one side of the menu and I have never touched their delicious looking pastries. So....for now, I can only give Best Baguette a four star review.............. But someday I will fill the holes my education and hopefully be able to change my review to a five. ***I hear that there are other quality Bánh mì shops in Portland but in terms of bang for my buck and my taste buds being completely satisfied, it is hard to think that this place is not the BEST.....baguette.

You will not find a better banh mi anywhere in the western hemisphere. I've been to all the banh mi hot spots in LA and Best Baguette definitely claims the top spot in my book. From the perfectly made baguettes to the delicious grilled meats, Best Baguette has the got banh mi formula on lock! I was able to sample 3 different banh mi sandwiches during my visit and while all of them were amazing, my favorite was definitely the grilled pork. It had the perfect balance of sweetness, smokiness, and straight up yumminess. The grilled chicken was a surprising second, followed by the grilled beef. I also opted for a fried egg in my banh mi which added a little umph to each bite. Definitely recommended. I would also recommend a little maggi sauce if you want a little more Asian flava. I threw in a couple of spurts and it took my sandwich from good to great. Oh and watch out for those jalapenos because they pack a punch, especially the ones with tons of seeds. Can't wait for my next visit to Portland, so that I can wrap my lips around another grilled pork banh mi. It honestly doesn't get any more authentic, delicious, and affordable than Best Baguette so all you Portlandians better count your lucky stars that you've got two of these joints in your backyard. #bestbanhmiever #realtalk #iwantonenow

Best Baguette's Vietnamese sandwiches will knock your socks off, dazzle your taste buds, and fill your stomach - for about $3.50 or less. I would recommend the pork or chicken Vietnamese style sandwich - which is a foot long french baguette filled with shredded carrot, daikon, cilantro, a delicious sauce, and some jalapenos, and a meat. If you prefer a more American sandwich, never fear, there is also ham, turkey, and the like for a bit more money on the other side of the menu board. However, I would definitely try the Vietnamese selection - they are just so tasty. Aside from ridiculously cheap and flavorful sandwiches, you can also get a variety of delicious smoothies (the avocado is my favorite), or any number of bubble teas. They also have very inexpensive and delicious pastries, there is $1.00 sponge cake that I can't help but get at every visit - its like angel food cake with eggs and extra sweetness. Yum. However, do not expect high-brow ambiance. You pay at a counter and seat yourself with your order on a tray or take your order to go. However, the casual atmosphere is nice and easy and makes for a great lunch or dinner. Note: there is a $5 credit card minimum.

Loved the Saigon Bacon! The bread is excellent - soft in the middle and crispy exterior. If the sandwich had a bit more fillings, I'd have given it 5 stars.

So after learning it would take 45 minutes to get a table at another restaurant, my friend says "lets just go grab a sandwich at this place near my house." We go, sure why not? I'm always down to check out local spots. As we get to the door, my heart skips a beat when I notice a sticker that says "People on Yelp, love us!" That can mean only one thing: GOOD YELP REVIEWS! We go in and order our sandwiches and I became a fan at the first bite. Awesomely good (is awesomely a word?) sandwiches and at very reasonable prices means awesome place in my book. The bread is super fresh and tasty and the prices are generally no more than $5. The menu features American style and Vietnamese style sandwiches which all look very yummy! The service was good and they were quick to produce the sandwiches and drinks. The menu also features frozen yogurt and bubble teas. On that note, stay away from the durian tea! They use fresh durian and let's just say....if you value your friendships/relationships, you won't drink it around them!

I love Vietnamese sandwiches. It's part french with a lot of asian fusion! It's not your average sandwich, it's gourmet eating. Once you try this, you'll never go grab a regular deli sandwich. The baguettes are real fresh and I just love the smell of freshly bake bread. The Good: 1. They have a massive varies of sandwich from meaty, vegetarian to healthy sandwiches without losing the gourmet taste! The Bad: 1. The men's bathroom is setup so stupidly. The urinal is next to the door, so if someone walks in, you're goods will be exposed! The Ugly: 1. I should of grab 2 sandwiches because it was that good!

Finally ducked in here over the weekend, after passing it so many times. I had the avocado and cheese, hubs got the grilled beef banh mi. Both sandwiches were very tasty, and the baguettes were fresh. I also ordered a lychee bubble tea- this is the best bubble tea I've ever had! It came as kind of a slushee, so I imagine making many trips here when the weather heats up and I need something cold. The bubbles themselves are just the right amount of chewy. Good service, too! All of this for under $15 really hit the spot. I will definitely return!

Ladies from work hipped me to this place. I've been by it at least a zillion times but never gave it a second thought. I assumed from the name that it was just some kind of bakery. Guess I should have looked through the window once. I like Bánh mì just fine and I was pleased to see a huge selection of sandwiches pictured on the menu board. The prices are fantastic--almost everything is under four bucks. I ordered the special #1 and they whipped it up pronto. The friendly counter guy asked if I wanted jalapeños. Heck yes. I took the sandwich back to the office with me togo. Really tasty, and with those low prices, I'll absolutely make Best Baguette one of my regular lunch stops.

As Fats Waller once said, "Oh my good, goodness!" This joint has been on my list, so since I was in the neighborhood and after reading other people's recommendations I stopped in. How 'bout a lunch that would make your mouth dance with delight for under $4? I started with the namesake sandwich, #1 Best Baguette Special. For the timid, don't read my description that I am going to give. Just buy it, stuff it in your face and control your moaning. For the rest of you, it starts with their superbly executed baguettes, stuffed with pâté, ham, pork roll, head cheese, their house mayonnaise, pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeno, cilantro and soy sauce. Somewhere in there is star anise or five spice--a sweet spice against the saltiness of the soy--though each spice, each texture is unique, yet not over powering to the next. Like a lovely symphony in your mouth! The jalapeno is not seeded, just thinly sliced, and after a few bites the fire became a little much for me, so I fed it to the Beast who was seriously working my nerves with his begging. I finished this lovely sandwich with a desert cream puff, though there were many other little morsels calling to me. God love the Vietnamese! Oppressed by the French for decades, they kicked their asses out of their homeland and kept all the recipes and technique for baking and I know that while I may not find a good French bakery, I can find a good Vietnamese bakery/sandwich shop--they know what they are doing. There is the added benefit that the cream in my pastry cooled the jalapeno fire in my mouth leaving the Beast just to look at me with watery eyes and the disbelief that his master would feed him that pepper. I am full! I have a new battle plan the Stuffed Shirts in the area might want to emulate. BB opens at 8--stop there for a croissant and coffee and order a lunch to take to work for later. All of that would come in for about the price of a crappy burger meal anywhere else and would start your day out right and make lunch quick and delicious.

If the best thing was the baguette, then the second best thing was that I didn't break the bank. Sandwiches range from $2.95 to about $5.00 and they have other items like desserts, pastries and specialty drinks. Nonetheless, I can't get myself to order anything besides their #1. I won't be disappointed if I tried another sandwich, but I just really like their #1 sandwich, that's all. Their Beaverton location is different than the Portland one, because this store is in a strip mall and it doesn't have a drive thru window. If you get the baguettes, beware! You will be addicted. The bread is fresh and crispy, so the evidence that I've enjoyed a Bahn Mi are in the crumbs on my shirt and in my lap.

Running low on dough, but munchie none the less? Looking for a place to bust your diet without busting your budget? College student stuck in suburbia looking for grazing? Best Baguette is the place to be! No matter what I have (or don't) in my pocketbook, I always go for the #12- asian veggie sammich deliciousness! Just need a little bite or two? Check out the oh-so-cute (and oh-so-cheap!) mini pastries! I'm a total sucker for the ham and cheese croissant. Also, give the almond cookies at the register a try- crunchy almond-y sweet satisfaction in cookie form... positively drool inducing! Stop in and try Best Baguette!

Love this little place! I usually get something simple like turkey and cheese sandwich with strawberry bubble tea, but I've been meaning to try some of the more interesting sandwiches. I also like the different baked treats and things they have in the glass window.

How does a gem like this slip my radar for so long! SUPER FAST SUPER CHEAP SUPER FRESH The bread was a little crispy for my tastes, but I'm guessing it was a variance, but it was still well within the standards of acceptability. I had the "Paris Ham and Cheese" didn't quite take me to a street baguette stand outside Notre Dame, but perhaps left me hanging somewhere over Greenland on the direct flight to Denmark from Seattle. Looking forward to trying another offering from this well-run establishment.

I think I favor this location over the one in East Portland... I've studied here a couple times and I find it a pleasant place to be. The last time I was here was over a year ago and they didn't have wifi then - hopefully they have it now! Sandwiches at this shop are just as good as the others - definitely have standardized the way their food is produced.

So based on all the high praise from fellow Yelpers my wife and I tried this place out. Um... I have no idea what you all are talking about. Sure it's inexpensive but like it's said... you get what you pay for. The sandwich was bland and dry. There is hardly any substance to it which I think helps set the price so low. I'd rather go to a chain sandwich place like Subway or Quizno's than eat here again. "But Brian why then then do you give it two stars and not just one?" Well I'm glad you asked. It's the fact that their bread is fresh and delicious. The one shining star in the whole place is the bread. Oh, I forgot to mention the sickest thing ever - the bubble tea. My god! What are they thinking? This was like sucking snot balls through a straw; both in texture and flavor. I did my best to manipulate my straw around the slimy orbs to try and get my money's worth of the pineapple slush they were embedded in. So don't be fooled by all the four and five star ratings, take your five bucks and hit a Subway where at least they put some dressing on your sandwich.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant a 3 star review is because this location was not as tasty as the powell blvd location which I ate at last night. They gave us a little less meat in our sammiches and the pork was purple with very little char on it like it had been steamed and not bbq'd. I still like this place I just feel that the Powell Blvd location was far more delicious. Same great customer service as the other locations and same great low prices. I feel out of place with my three stars but maybe I will come back and it will be better than it was today at lunch time.

They may not have the very best Bahn-mi in town (oddly, I think Lovejoy Bakers has one of the best) but man are these inexpensive. Like $4 for a pretty big, decent sandwich. The Avocado shake is pretty good too, maybe a little too sweet but it's something different. And their spring rolls are really tasty and fresh too. Skip the packaged baked items though -- they LOOK good but aren't that great.

Coworkers and I always grab take out from this place and it's always a treat! BBQ pork Bahn Mi with extra cilantro is my fave! Paired with either a milk tea with extra bubbles or an iced milk coffee! Oh and to Gina G. who was complaining about the health code standards... girl, if you have a problem with that, you probably shouldn't eat at any public food place. Occurrences like that happen, I could tell you a bunch of horror stories about the numerous starbucks and fast food places myself and some friends worked at. Are you a fan of frappuccinos? If you knew what I knew about some places around here, I bet you'd change your mind.

We've been craving banh mi sandwiches since moving here from Seattle but hadn't found a good location. We were running errands in Beaverton and I stumbled on Brian I's review of this spot and when he mentioned that the Best Baguette leaves Jimmy John's in the dust (which being a Midwestern girl, I've always had an affinity for that chain) I knew we had to try it! It's a nice, clean cafe and as other fellow yelpers have mentioend has an extensive menu. We tried a grilled pork banh mi from the Vietnamese board and a club from the French board. The fresh baked bread was delicious--crusty and chewy at the same time! The price was great ($3 for the Vietnamese sandwich and $4 for the French one), I can't believe people still head to Subway with such great, inexpensive sandwiches. We definitely favored the banh mi over the French sandwich which was missing a nice grainy mustard. We'll be back and stick to ordering from the Vientamese side of the board.

as good as the original. I love these crispy slightly tangy, slightly spicy, slightly sweet sandwiches. For under $4 you get a torpedo of flavorful meats, pickles, cilantro and jalepenos. My favs. so far have been the beef, pork and chicken, all different, all tasty. The sausage was just so so for me, it was a texture thing. They also have excellent macaroons and croissants. I'm curious about their beef stew I will update when I finally get it.

Another new find and so happy it's only a couple of blocks from our new office. Great sandwiches at ridiculously low prices. The iced coffee had me rocking all afternoon. The salad rolls were good too.

This is the boyfriend and I's favorite stop-off when on our way out to meet our friends in the "Far East". The sandwiches are delicious and cheap, the drive-thru is very fast, and their fresh squeezed OJ and Avocado shakes are NOT to be missed. Also, the sandwiches all come in baguette bags, so despite the flaky, crispy goodness of the baguette, it's great car food.

If you asked me a year ago what I thought about Best Baguette, I would have waxed poetic on that ass...but things aren't quite what they use to be. First discovered this place with my roomie while in search of a good bahn mi spot. With a name like Best Baguette, I was very skeptical of even trying the food here, but with prices so low it is hard to resist a taster. To our surprise, the sandwiches were quite wonderful. At about $3.25 for a footlong, the freshly baked baguettes were crisp and warm. The meats were tasty, the pickled veg was bright and crisp, and the mayo/soy sauce condiments worked in harmony. The bubble teas were delicious and the array of sweet and savory bun tray was just icing on the cake. As time went on, the place became busier, and busier; but quality remained. We ran the gamut of bahn mi selection and went on to discover the wonders of bo kho and twisty raisin bread. Recently, our experiences have verged on disappointment. Most of the discontent comes from either an order mistake or a heavy hand on the mayo (not to mention a slight increase in prices - something I can overlook). A rather minor complaint; however, when it comes to a very simple sandwich, the details make all the difference. While I have no intentions on abandoning this spot and am glad that business is going strong for the chain, I do wish the consistency was put more into focus. I will say that the bo kho is ridiculously good, the baguette is still up to par and the sweet/savory buns are a steal. Go for any of the bahn mi (Saigon bacon, grilled pork, and the special are my personal faves) but be sure to ask for extra veg. Also, if you like pho, you will LOVE Bo Kho - a rich and hearty beef stew with an intense pho-flavored broth, served with a crunchy baguette to soak up that sauce! Go early to avoid the lunch rush and find a seat - otherwise settle for take out.

I really love Bahn Mi sandwiches. I had some great one's in NYC and my friends in OC swear by Lee's. I was so excited to try this place that I went in yesterday just to check it out with the idea of coming back for lunch today! . I drove out here from downtown Portland today and ordered two sandwiches (I always try 2x before reviewing plus I'm a fat, sweaty glutton with no self-control) I got the chcken and the veggie with exxtra jalapenos. The bread was decent, perhaps a little too light and flaky and not crunchy enough for my taste. The veggie bahn mi was average but it seemed like something was missing,,,it was dry, even after I smothered it in Siracha. Tthe chicken one was flat out disgusting. The chicken was old and of really poor quality. Truly a vile sandwich. I want to give one star but I really can't because the service and the price are both exceptional. it's also very clean and they have Siracha bottles lying around which is a plus. Lately, I've hit a really bad run of Vietnamese food outside of NYC.....I can't seem to get a good Vietnamese meal. I really wanted to like this place...it bums me out.

I was really (pleasantly) surprised by this place. Fresh baguette's baking in the kitchen, dozens of sandwich's to choose from (there is an 'Asian' menu board and a French menu board), and a nice selection of pastries and bubble teas. The sandwich's averaged between $2-$4 and are definitely big enough to satisfy. They also have some other sweet, as well as savory, rolls and pastries that they've just packaged, so you can take them to go. I can't wait to go back. From the signs hanging near the register, it looks like they have daily specials and additions to the menu. Today's sign said "beef stew and baguette" ... I love this place!

I tried their tacos which lacked much flavor and I'd rather have some from a cart of LA food trucks anytime. I even went w/ three meats: pork, beef, and chicken none of which wowed me or even made me nod my head in approval. The baguette was average at most so when it comes of a Vietnamese sandwich I was more disappointed than anything. But, they're Vietnamese coffee hit the spot though like they usually do. Crack and coffee is what's in all of them I tell yah.

Love the sandwiches but it's a turn off to be waiting for you food watching health code violations happen. I eat here 3 or 4 times a week. Up until now, my only complaint was the lack of urgency they have when making my sandwiches. Each sandwich is slowly, lovingly made, lol! Yesterday the older ladies were chatting behind the counter in the food prep area. One appeared to be eating with her gloves on. She wiped her face and mouth a few times and when she was done, went right back to portioning the meat without changing her gloves. I asked for a manager, apparently they don't have them on the weekends. The kid I told, and the staff looked confused and surprised I said anything. Even after I mentioned it, they handed me my order and the lady went right back to portioning the meat. No glove change. Belch!!! Lady, the gloves are to prevent the bacteria on your body from getting on the meat, not the other way around!!! Can somebody please send the health department to check for food handlers cards!!!

I heart Vietnamese style sandwiches and Best Baguette is the best place I've had them in Oregon so far. Actually it's the only place I've had them in Oregon so it may be good for me to venture out just for the sake of comparison. However, at under $4 a sandwich it will be hard to not want to go to Best Baguette. So far my favs are the Saigon Bacon and Grilled Pork. I do very much want to have the special though...sounds nom-tastic. The bread is excellent and you can buy loaves to take home. All in all, this place is cheap and tasty. That is a combination that never gets old. I love that there is one so close to the Beaverton Central MAX station.

disclaimer: I had never had a Vietnamese sandwich before coming here. BUT it was delicious and now I am a believer! We had the bbq pork and the house special with various meats on it. I loved the fresh veggies and cilantro. The bread was pretty good too. And it was about $3.50 for a plentiful sandwich. It's one of those unassuming places in Beaverton that you might be skeptical to try (or not even notice!!) unless someone recommended it. I am now recommending it to you. Go eat a sandwich!

A store dedicated mainly to Vietnamese sandwiches? I'm there. This place has a mind boggling variety (when you compare it to most places that serve them) of Vietnamese sandwiches. Me, I like to original with that weird mystery meat that I have no idea what it is, but it tastes so good! The baguette comes off nice and crispy too. They're pretty inexpensive when you compare them to the larger competitive sandwich chains. So much so that I ordered one for "later." This place is clean and has several places to sit down inside. They also are pretty quick with making your order which is always nice. Should have plenty of parking in the shared mall parking lot.

A foot long sandwich on fresh baked bread for less than $3? Are you kidding me? Did I mention that this sandwich is not only cheap but it is delicious as well? First time I went here I thought I was dreaming. As a student I'm always looking for cheap, good places to eat and Best Baguette is both. They have a good variety of sandwiches, many under $3, boba, bubble tea, and a good selection of pastries I have yet to try due to my addiction to their Saigon bacon sandwich. The bread is good, but occasionally a bit too crispy as far as baguettes go, but hey it's still great, and at $3 can I really complain? I have never tried any of the pastries, as they are way over priced, especially compared to An Xuyen....Still, a great place for a cheap meal or some very strong iced coffee.

This place rocks! I usually get a couple of baguettes the day before we go snowboarding all for less than $8. I love eating the #1 with the head cheese. pate, meat, jalapenos, cilantro, and pickled carrots and turnips. When they have the beef stew on special you MUST get it! Everything is soooooo good!

You can get the best bang for your buck with a lot of variety as well, depending upon your mood and time of day. Most people come to Best Baguette for the affordable Vietnamese sandwiches (ranging from 25 varieties, with about a dozen choices under $3, and the rest range from $3 to $5). Their Asian-style breads are great, made fresh in the restaurant. Several types of flavors are available as well. Again, several flavors are available for Asian-style "bubble" (tapioca balls), milk tea. And lastly, nothing beats the summer heat than a big bowl of shaved ice with three toppings (plenty of choices to pick from) for $4.50 (extra toppings cost $0.50 each). For our family of five, we usually get a couple of bowls with different toppings and share. Quite an experience.

I am a fan because... it is cheap it is fast the bread is fresh, the ingredients are yummy it is really clean the staff are friendly it reminds me of back home (bay area, california) If you are not familiar with Vietnamese sandwiches, I recommend trying this place because it gives a good impression of what to expect when you get banh mi. You should try this place instead of any of the other "fast food" places nearby. I think we could use more places like this in Portland.

LOVE LOVE me some Banh Mi and this is the place to go if you are looking for an amazing Vietnamese sandwich. Their selection of sandwiches is crazy and you honestly can not beat the price! The bread is fabulous and don't even get me started on the pastries and deserts. I will definitely keep coming back and recommending to friends and family.

It's kind of funny to see the differences in opinions over the price of Vietnamese sandwiches. I remember back in 2004 when you could get a real good one in California for $1.50. But times have changed and unfortunately we usually end up paying about $3 now. But remember, this is so inexpensive compared to Subway or Quiznos or Specialty's (Seattle)! And to be honest, you can't beat the taste. The baguette really is the best I've ever tried. When you eat it fresh upon ordering it really is perfectly toasted. I usually order #3 (grilled chicken). I find that I like it more than #1. I need to try more of their menu! I want to try the drinks in the cold case, the frozen yogurt, the avocado shake, the croissants, the sandwiches with egg.. Sadly, I usually decide on my good 'ol #3, no jalapenos =).

It is one of my life missions to eat every Vietnamese sandwich available in Portland. How good is Best Baguette? Best Baguette is so good that I have been unable to resist stopping there for a sandwich even while on my way to give another sandwich a try. Strangely, as I continue my quest to eat every Vietnamese sandwich in Portland I didn't try this place for a while. I think part of my hesitation was born of my subscription to the belief that "If it comes through the window of your car, it isn't food" Best Baguette is one of very few exceptions to that rule. Finding food that is reasonably priced, fresh, delicious and healthy can be a rare and beautiful thing. Finding it coming through your car window? Is even rarer.

So good! Love the chicken salad sandwich. A great sized sandwich for the price. The iced coffee is really good, too. Sometimes it feels like there aren't enough people working there, but I've noticed that customers seem to come in waves. It's when they take an order over the phone that the whole system seems to fall apart for a moment, but it's quick

I heart this place. When in the mood for simple sammiches I like to go to BB. I'm a huge sucker for the grilled chicken sandwich and Thai Tea bubble tea. I have brought a couple friends, a couple coworkers, and only just last week learned there was a BB out on 83ish and Powell. This place makes me nostalgic for Vietnam mostly cuz the people are so nice and the food is surprisingly fresh. If you want simple food and are on a budget, give them a try.

I came here to get some banh mi to go and normally I can eat 2 as a meal so I said "let's order 2 each for us". I looked at the extensive menu on the wall (all in pictures!) and thought "damn, $3.50 for a little sandwich that usually costs less than that? I hope it's good!) So I order 4 sandwiches (there are over 20 varieties, seriously) from the friendly young man at the register and asked him to include more peppers because I love eating banh mi with lots of jalapenos. After about 10 minutes, the sandwiches were ready and holy crap, they were HUGE! Not like the little (6") sandwiches I'm used to. They looked like a foot long or maybe more and there I was thinking "I think one sandwich is good for a meal, NOT 2!" They were packaged in their own little bread bag (kinda reminded me of those Quiznos torpedo sandwiches). After seeing the size, I knew that the price was justified. I had one for dinner (the #13--it didn't have liverwurst in it which was strange---though they have it in the #1 which I also ordered) and I almost couldn't finish it but it was really good. The bread (on the bread bag it says that the bread is baked fresh hourly) was nice and soft with a hard, flaky crust. I'd say that if I wanted a good sized sandwich for lunch on the cheap, I'd go here and skip those $5 sub sandwiches that are popular these days. EDIT: They are quite accommodating for to-go orders because they'll package the pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro and peppers SEPARATELY from the sandwich as to not make it soggy for when you decide to eat it later! How nice is that?

Very good and cheap sandwiches on fresh french bread. I usually get the bbq pork w/ extra jalapenos - dang good. They got this creamy kinda green sauce they put on it...yummy. For 3 bucks you can't go wrong. They added frozen yogurt to their menu. I tried a yogurt bubble tea there...very good.

Awesome place to get a spicy, sour salad spread between some super tasty, crusty/soft bread with your choice of pork, pork or more pork! Kidding aside they have other meats as well. The GF and I ordered lemonade and iced tea with our sandwiches of grilled pork and shredded (you guessed it!) pork. The drinks came with a hermetically sealed plastic lid that took all of my super genius to peel off (used a plastic knife to punch hole). The prices were shockingly low and I was surprised to find that the sandwiches were full sized and ready to please! They don't have any recycling so if you want your conscience to rest easy, you should pack your glass out.

When ever I'm in this parking lot it's straight to Rib City for me so stopping in at Best Baguette was just not a option. After reading the reviews I told my wife we would just have to try it. Walked in took a good look around and was blown away by how clean it was. We looked at the menu and thought my god how can they be that cheap. Ordered and waited a few minutes opened it up and was once again blown away by how fresh and good it was. The baguette was great. The sandwich all together was very good. Was it the best sandwich I have ever had ? No but for the price the size the freshness it was good. Watch out for the peppers they are fresh and a little bit hot. They also sell bread and a number of deserts. As I sat and ate my sandwich the crew inside were always busy cleaning when they were not doing a sandwich. I guess I have another reason to hit the parking lot by Hall St.

This is all I lived off of it seems, for like a week. Vietnamese sandwiches. Made super fast. Hot peppers on the side. On tasty crunchy french bread. Real cheap. No line. Very clean. Convenient... I was literally obsessed with Vietnamese sandwiches for a whole week and this was where I got my fix.

I love this place, and the name doesn't lie. The baguettes are so good I would eat them plain. Eating them as part of a delicious sandwich is even better. They have a ton of choices, and I love that they serve both Vietnamese and American style sandwiches. Everything I've tried so far has been excellent, and I've tried most of the menu, but the pork and fried egg and the meatball sandwiches are definitely my favorites. If you're not in the mood for something spicy the Paris ham and cheese is pretty tasty as well. Prices are incredibly cheap, most items are under or around $3. Definitely the best place to eat cheap in Beaverton. Best Baguette even has an iced coffee here that is so good I'd come here for it alone, I mean it puts Starbucks to shame and I think it's about 2 bucks? Bubble tea too. Frozen Yogurt. Baguettes to go and buns with or without fillings. There is definitely something for everyone to like..

Sandwiches here are the closest to Lee's Sandwiches from SoCal (which I would rate as 5 star). I got hooked onto Vietnamese sandwiches after eating at Lee's Sandwiches in CA and this is one of the many things I missed after moving to OR. Best Baguette helped fill the void :-) Great Sandwiches and good service. I personally believe that the vegges used in their sandwiches aren't as flavorful as I have had at Lee's, but they are great nonetheless.

my sister took me to this place during a recent visit. i couldn't believe the prices for one and the QUALITY for two. The bread is freshly baked and the sandwiches range in price from 2.95 (yes, that is correct) up to a whopping 5.25. and they are delicious. before i left i also bought some beef liver pate - you get a giant tub of it for 7 and some change and a few yummy cream puffs and macaroons. the place is sparkling clean and the staff are UBER friendly and helpful. made me want to move back to the great NW (but the rain made me change my mind). oh, i also got a latte which i'm usually wary of ordering in no coffee joints but they had a respectable machine, non of that crappy stuff. turned out delicious. all in all, you cannot beat this place for overall value. please check out this place. it's a new, small business and i hope they succeed because they are doing it all right. oh, they have bubble tea and other cool drinks too. GO NOW.

The bread is airy and crunchy and very good packed full of pickled veggies! I like the Asian Vegetable with tofu and fresh cilantro. The Avocado Delight is also good if you're looking for a simple sandwich. They also make pastries and serve bubble tea in a bunch of flavors. Good portion for the price and the flavor is outstanding!

I agree with Eric in that this is the fast food version of a true Vietnamese sandwich. It looks like all the ingredients are there, but when it comes to that first bite....it's definitely lacking some true Vietnamese flavor. Where is the pate', the special homemade mayo, and how come the pickled vegetables are all carrots and lack the "pickled??" Meats are on the dry side and again, lack flavor. The only thing that appeals to me is their crusty bread which they bake on site. Oh, and their milk coffee is pretty comparable to the Lee's Sandwich chain that's all over Cali. Otherwise, I'll pass and take my business to Tan Tan where I can get other Vietnamese goodies along with my sandwich!

    (2)
  • Eric C.

Best Baguette offer a quick fast food take on the Vietnamese Sandwich. A fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine with pickled vegetables on a fresh baguette. While not a home run, if you are looking for a quick sandwich it is worth a trip. If you have a little more time I would recommend Tan-Tan, which is about a mile away and the sandwiches are much better. The prices are the same but the service is a bit slower.

FRESH, FRESH, FRESH and such a great deal. They bake their bead on premise... Sooo good. The #1 is my favorite. There is always something special about a bahn mi that has head cheese in it!!! ;^()

I absolutely love this place. The dining area isn't anything special...as good as any fast food joint. However, the staff is nice and the #5 sandwich has me coming back about twice a week. I would eat one everyday if I would allow myself. Did I mention they are super cheap? They also have a fun selection of drinks which seems to rotate. They also have Shrimp Chips!

i'm an extremely korean girl that needs to get her kimchi and rice in at least once a day. the day i went to best baguette, i had already eaten a sandwich for an early lunch/late breakfast but it was so good that it didn't even matter. :) these sandwiches are not only delicious but they are HUGE! 2 meals for the price of 1/2. :P my bahn mi was 3.50.. so that's 1.75 per meal. amazing.

Best Baguette has, hands down, the best bahn mi I've ever had. Being a vegetarian, I get the Asian vegetable bahn mi. The raw jalapeno slices make this sandwich pretty spice, but luckily, they have many delicious shakes, teas, and other beverages to mitigate the heat. The avocado shake in particular is very good. I would definitely recommend coming to Best Baguette if you in the area. Even if you're not in the area, you should find an excuse to go, because it is that good.

My 2 year hunt for a place I can compare to Lee's Sandwiches from my hometown San Jose is finally over...and guess what? Best Baguette is better!!! I'm a white girl, and while I enjoy a good bowl of Pho and a Vietnamese sandwich, mystery meat scares me. So does pate. So does head cheese. Yet I hate to walk into a place like Tan Tan and tell them how to make my food. They really shouldn't have to deal with the white girl that wants it made her way. So I stopped going...but my cravings for a BBQ pork Banh Mi continued. Until today! Best Baguette just opened in Beaverton and for under $3 I walked out a happy girl. No pate or head cheese on my sandwich, the pork wasn't half gristle and fat, and the fresh jalapenos that were lacking on my Tan Tan sandwiches were in full force! They also have a bagillion flavors of bubble tea and the cutest mini croissants that I can't wait to go back and try. It was clean too! Best Baguette may not be the most authentic, but it's the place for me. I'll be back again and again, I'm sure! (Gotta try the Pho place next door too!) PS - I just watched an episode of Anthony Bordain's No Reservations when he was in Vietnam...the 'coffee' they drink is made from beans harvested from Civet (weasel) poop. I'm sure that's not the case here in Beaverton, but I still can't get myself to order anything coffee related at a Vietnamese restaurant!!

This is one efficient place. Good sandwiches cheap. The problem that I'm finding is that I want a bit more than one sandwich offers, but two is just too much. Sadly there aren't really any sides...for some reason salads cost twice as much or more than a sandwich. A BBQ pork steam bun would be a nice touch. They do sell various pastries meaty and otherwise in sealed sacks off a rack, which are apparently prepared and sealed daily. A quick, inexpensive, tasty lunch in the 'tron.

5 stars for egg tart, for crispy butter beard, and for the service.. I will go back for try more things on the menu including fresh cane juice. I bet it will taste good as the two I got. CANT WAIT

It's good. It's fast. It's cheap. The bubble tea is bleh, but that's not what this place is about. Nothing beats homemade banh mi, thats why the -1 star. Best Baguette's variety has a leg up on the competition and definitely stands out as my favorite banh mi place to hit up. I'm sure there are some local ma and pa places that may offer better sandwiches, but the variety here definitely separates them.

I love how inexpensive this place is for great sandwiches, especially the Vietnamese banh mi varieties. This place is clean and bright! The bread is so fresh and their bubble tea isn't bad either. I heart their coffee and green tea slushie bubble teas. I love them so much that I'm thinking about going back tonight. Yum! I haven't tried their baked sweets, but they do look mighty tasty!

Awesome sandwiches. Inexpensive - a lot of them under $5. Tasty bread. Tried the grilled pork one - delicious. Heard the curry ones are excellent.

Good, Cheap and awesome! I visited this place after a friend recommended it. Nice crispy Baguette with tasty Vietnamese style fillings. They are cheap to boot.

For traditional Vietnamese Sandwiches you cant go wrong. The baguettes are soft on the inside and crunch on the outside. It is cheap...I mean inexpensive. Ranging from 2.75 to 3.50 for a sandwich its hard to top and its tasty. We got the #2 and a #8 (pork; pate). There are veggies and chile's (jalapenos) on board as well. You can spice it up by just asking for them to go top heavy on those chiles. Grab a bag of the baguettes to go as they are fresh and inexpensive, but plan on eating them the same day. Perfect for your own sandwiches, and also go great with eggs cooked at home. The 5 stars are for the sandwiches and baguettes as I did not try their coffee or bubble teas, but they looked good. Services was super fast as I ordered and left in less than 5 minutes. Definitely a place to return on a frequent basis for quick, great tasting food.

NIce, fresh and refreshing vietnamese sandwiches. I'm not missing the american cheese, mayo and yellow mustard that dress most sandwiches. This is a great approach to fast dining and affordable ta boot. Incredible concept, I wish I'd discovered this place sooner.

My favorite sandwich place! They also have great drinks, from thai teas to bubble drinks to coffee! Their iced milk coffee is tasty and it's like crack, it'll do it's job! The various kinds of croissants are great too!

They offer Banh Mi's with lots of different fillings. The bread tastes fresh baked and the prices are low. If you compare it to other fast food, Best Baguette wins every time.

Hands down best sandwiches in town. I love their beef sandwich, pork and the Paris. Also, their boba here is better than any others I have had in the Beaverton area. We go to Best Baguette at least once a week!

Best Baguette makes me want to move to Beaverton so that I can go more often. ;) The sandwiches are an excellent value and ALWAYS delicious. I've never had a bad experience with their food, and service is always friendly and quick. Additionally - it seems like they're always open, I've never tried to go and had them be closed, even on Sundays and holidays. This is definitely a plus.

great, cheap Banh Mi. I love the pork meatball as well as the chicken banh mi. They have plenty of options to choose from, including the traditional pate. The staff is always courteous. Service is quick. Love it!!

So good! I have tried a few different things on the menu and all were tasty. The prices are cheap and the service is excellent. If you don't have a lot of cash THIS is the place to go! I always leave pleased and full.

The bahn mi's are excellent and reasonably priced under $4-5. I'll keep going back for more!

The sandwich was pretty awesome, like next to perfect, but it was a teensy bit pricey for just a sandwich and a bubble tea. about $11. i would probably go back though, cuz that croissant was so darn tasty!

I went here on recommendation of a friend who claimed the sandwiches were amazing. And they were OK. The service was OK, the cleanliness was OK and everything was OK. The only thing amazing about this shop is the price, three dollars for a sandwich? Amazing. The sandwiches are about the same quality as Subway, and the ingredients are likewise. The only differences are that here you will be paying two dollars less for better bread, less meat, and more choices including various Vietnamese style sandwiches. I have only gotten one sandwich here, I think I will go back and try the BBQ pork sandwich, but what I got was the Chicken. There wasn't much chicken in it, but when there was it was OK, it was a pleasant kind of sweet, and was edible and enjoyable. It isn't something you are going to finish and say "That was really good, I'm really glad I ate that." But it is going to fill you up, for only three dollars. So overall, it was OK! Majorly mediocre, for a price that fits! Good place for a lunch if you are in the area, or just a cheap meal with some family. Enjoy!

I work 5 minutes away and this is a wonderful quick pit stop for lunch. Inexpensive and delicious (especially with sriracha sauce). Service is quick and there are choices for everyone's palette. Sometimes I'll splurge and get a bubble tea with a fatty straw to go. Me and my co-workers are a fan of BB!

Saw this place on yelp before a weekend trip to Portland and decided to check it out. My boyfriend and I went in on a Saturday and it was so delicious that we came back the next day for more. We both had BBQ beef banh mi sanwiches and bubble tea. We also tried the spicy beef stew/baguette combo because some other people ordered it and it looked pretty good. The stew had just the right amount of heat and the beef in it was very tender ( a little on the fatty side though). Everything overall was wonderful and the food was very cheaply priced. Parking was also easy as the location is in a strip mall with a free parking lot. There were plenty of seats at the restaurant and it was very clean. This restaurant is now on our list of "must visit" for our next trip to Portland!

Tried this place completely outta' left field, I guess I was bored w/ all the usuals that day... they've pretty much turned me onto the concept of fusion cuisine. Forget all the fast food "combo meals", these put all their institutionalized competition to shame. My fave's are the chicken or the pork, Vietnamese style, stuffed into a French baguette, w/ shredded carrots, daikon and some sliced jalapeno. You can also swap one of their freakin' AWEsome pastries for chips if you're getting the "meal" combo (OMG, the chocolate croissant!!, OMG!!!). K, so they've only just recently added some ambiance via some cool art-photography of Vietnam, but the food makes up for however the decor is lacking. The staff are friendly and professional, and take into account all the Vietnamese community who eat there, and you know it must be authentic. Love this place, I go there as often as humanly possible!

  • Kyra S.

Great sandwiches that are not the typical sub or deli style. The bread is really fresh and so good. I usually get the grilled chicken or pork and it comes with a little bit of marinated veggies on it and cilantro & jalapenos. All for $3!! If you are really hungry it won't fill you up but for $2 more you can get chips and a drink. I love these sandwiches and the price!

Crazy good!!! I always get the No.4 My wife and I frequent Best Baguette....well, frequently. I haven't found a better Viet-French Sandwich place. The pastries are also super delicioso. GO!! Why are you still reading this, go get a sandwich already!

oh my. i've driven past this strip mall eatery dozens of times and only yesterday did i make the right decision to stop in. the variety is amazing. it took me minutes to finally order something. and for $2.70 i had a massive sandwich. which was made of a fresh baguette. and the veggies were perfect. the meat (i got the sliced pork #4) was sliced as thin as roast beef, but was as savory as pork should be. their coffee is ridiculously overpriced. like significantly more than the sandwiches. but you don't go there for coffee. its all about the sandwiches. *there is a $5.00 minimum on debit cards, and with one sandwich being less than 3.00, either bring a friend, get two (one for later!) or bring cash.

Bad ass Vietnamese sandwich joint. My friend Khoa turned me onto it and I never looked back. The prices are incredible I usually get 2 large baguette sandwiches for what I would usually pay for one sub. Sometimes I get a french baguette for later or try one of their drinks like bubble tea or (one I am planning on trying) the sugar cane juice. Nice ladies working the place as well. Can't wait to go back!

I love this place. Their Banh Mi is great with 12-15 different varieties available. They also have american style baguette sandwiches as well with a variety of fillings that are also quite tasty. Their Thai tea and VN coffee are good too. Good atmosphere and very affordable. I hope this place expands to other areas.

I go to yoga several times a week next door to this place, and I decided to finally give it a try. I really wanted to love it after reading so many great reviews, but maybe my expectations were too high. It wasn't horrible, just not great. The women behind the counter asked me if I wanted everything on my sandwich, including jalapeños, and I said yes, but when I got my food all I found was a bunch of shredded carrots, ONE piece of cilantro and about 2 slices of jalapeño. It was also pretty dry. I also tried the avocado shake (avocados are one of my fave foods) and really wanted to love it as well, but it was strange and too sweet. I will say that the service was great; quick and friendly, and I suppose you get what you pay for, but I don't know that I will be going out of my way to go back here any time soon. Maybe I will give it another chance to try the iced coffee I've heard is so strong and delicious.

Tried the BBQ pork sandwich, which was very tasty, and the avocado/cheese sandwich, which had too much mayo and avocado that was not completely fresh. Loved the coconut snow bubble drink and the taro root bun as well. It would be wise to go earlier if you want to get the more popular buns like egg custard and taro root b/c those go quickly. Definitely a good cheap alternative to regular sandwich shops.

So, apparently I am the only person in America who was not familiar with Vietnamese sandwiches. I am now! Love, love, love this place. Sandwiches are wonderful and cheap. I love odd meats, so the pate and weird pork make me happy. Know that you can get 'normal' meat, too. The baguettes are super crispy, fresh--perfectly baked. The servers remembered me (and my love for jalapenos) after only one visit. I can't say enough, but for $2.65 for a fresh, tasty sandwich, I guess I don't have to.

I first discovered this place in the eastside-and knew I was addicted! I was ecstatic when I found out they were opening one on my side of town. The price, quality and service are outstanding. I always have the #1 but I will venture and try some others. The avacado shake is delecious and so is the Red Bean Bubble tea. Great prices as well-what a great option for fast food. I am going back for the meat pasteries which are 1/2 price after 5-hope there are some left!

What's not to love? It's tasty, filling and oh so cheap($2.95)! This is a great place for a quick lunch if you work in the Beaverton area. The restaurant is always clean and the employees are very friendly. If we're really hungry my husband and I will each get a sandwich and have the beef stew too . . . yum. Dip your sandwich in the soup. Do it! They have fountain drinks, an assortment of bottled beverages and bubble tea, though I've never tried it here. I also learned today that they have soft serve! Hopefully I remember that when it warms up and I start to crave it.

Yummy sandwiches, bargain pricing, fast and good service. I'm going back! I tried to stop at half, but it was sooo good I couldn't stop myself and I'm not a big sandwich eater. If you are in the area and looking for something to eat, you can't go wrong at Best Baguette!

This was my first introduction to Vietnamese style sandwiches, and I have been back several times since. I was pretty impressed on a whole. Environment was clean, though I never ate in-house, I just got the sandwiches to go. The value, at around $2.50 per 10 inch sandwich is very good. They come with a marinaded slaw style vegetables consisting of carrot and radish slivers. Meat is your choice, I like them all, but especially the beef. Bread is always fresh and well done. I also like how they have the cilantro and jalapeno standard as well on all the Vietnamese sandwiches. These sandwiches might not be for everyone, but they are definitely worth a try given the great bread and ingredients and the cheap price. I typically get 4 or 5 at a time and snack on them for a few days. I'll be back.

Meatball sandwich is great. Avoid the 'asian vegetable' one - reallllllly boring and with tasteless fried noodles in it - no other vegetables than what you already get in any standard Bahn Mi - (huh??) - also be forewarned that the 'shredded pork' one has lots of either tripe or pig skin (??) in it - julienned very thin so that it's like eating a sandwich made of rubber bands... not great tasting, either. Stick with the meatball sandwich and you're good. My man likes the Sardine Sandwich too - if you're a fan of fishy, go for it. Lots of fish in there. Good Bubble teas too.

    (4)
  • Steve W.

Quick service, friendly, wonderful croissants and fresh cheap sandwiches. The grilled chicken and beef sandwiches are the best. Opens early too so you can get a sandwich for lunch to go before work! Bubble tea is solid. They charge extra to mix boba and jelly in the same slushee. That's the only downside.

  • J P.

Had #1 The classic Vietnamese sandwich. It has pate, slices of premium ham, pork roll, and head cheese. Their milk tea is very good also the tapioca pearls are firm but not mushy and it is not over sweet like a lot of milk tea places. I also had an egg tart, the crust was golden and flaky and the custard was very smooth.

  • Bryan S.

Yes, check it out. The French bread is very very good. The price is right most less then $3 for about an 8 inch baguette. If you want a simple sami with good bread and something different give it a try. This a great place to grab lunch at on a weekend when you are driving around town. It is not a destination restaurant but don't forget about it when you are in need of some good carbs and something different.

I love you, crusty bread with cilantro and yummy chicken. I knock a star because the DH does not like this at all (maybe he has dumb tastebuds). Great value, and the pastries are yummy and oh-so-bad for you. Also, I knock them for advertising authentic milk tea (which is hot) and serving bubble tea instead. But that was good, too, just not what I thought. Best option by far in this area.

    (4)
  • Lynn M.

I agree with everyone else about the #1 Banh Mi - fully loaded - it's out of this world. I go out of my way to come and get sandwiches to go. Get there early for the fresh spring rolls and some of the more popular pastries. They have sweet and savory pastries that are excellent. One of my favorites is the one with hot dog and green onion (sounds gross I know but it's very tasty!). I usually buy a bag of rolls -perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Although it goes soft after a day, just stick the rolls in a hot oven for a few minutes and it crisps up. Makes good garlic bread or sandwiches - if it gets really stale, make some breadcrumbs. They sell the Tay Ho brand of Vietnamese pork head cheese (Gio Thu) in the deli case. It's hard to find in Portland so I buy a few packages to take home and make my own sandwiches. Yum.

OK, I have never had Vietnamese sandwiches before, but I really like a lot of Vietnamese food and having read so many good reviews on Yelp I decided to try this place. I knew my Sweetie probably wouldn't go for the Vietnamese style, so I ordered a ham and cheese for him and a grilled chicken Asian style for me to go. I must have ordered the wrong thing because I ended up with the grilled chicken and egg/pork roll sandwich. I gave up my grilled chicken to my Sweetie since it seemed more "American" style. He complained how terrible it was and I thought it was too different from Subway for him. However, my sandwich was not great. I will say the bread was excellent and tasted fresh. The pork roll was like a bologna and the egg was an over fried scrambled egg. It was not what I wanted, but it was OK. My BF did not finish his sandwich, so I took it to work for lunch the next day. It was terrible! There was very little chicken on the sandwich and it was dry/dark meat. The price of the sandwiches make this place a value, but the quality was lacking.

Yummy sandwiches. The service here is friendly and fast. It's a good place to get a French/Vietnamese sandwich on the go. I love their warm crispy and chewy baguette;never hard and cold. The vegetables that they put in these baguette are fresh. I love their milk bubble tea. Overall, this is my favorite sandwich restaurant in town for their delicious sandwiches, excellent service, no crumbs on the floor.
