Sad state of mexican food choices brings this chain to the top of our list of burrito joints. Foods fresh and the salsa bar caters to gringo tongues, nothing too exciting on the menu, grilled fish taco is a passable facsimile of the real deal. I need to try some of the roach coaches perhaps...

I was inspired to write this before they move, Ok they are just going across the parking lot but...its still a move and it motivated me. I really like Baja Fresh. They are a good, and fairly healthy in a fast food world. Somehow though like many three star places I often forget about them then when I go I think "why don't I come here more.'' I even thought of a fourth star, but that says I am a fan.... Really I think they are a bit better then a ok but I am not a fan. So I would give an extra half star if i could but I just can't hit that fourth star. The menu is basically Mexican inspired American food you can eat on a tortilla. They use a lot of vegetables, give you the option of black beans...lots of options to make it healthier. I also like that they offer shrimp a nice change. They have a nice salsa bar to go with their so-so chips and offer guacamole for your meal. They also do take out platters which are really good, I used to work at a place that would get them for us and they were always a hit with the staff. The prices are good. The one thing I always wonder is the refillable cup. I mean yes it saves you...well less then a buck and I would have to take it home wash it put it in something to keep it clean and cary it around in my car for a few months, then remember to take it in with me...just give me a new one.

I would give an extra 1/2 star if I could. While the food is fresh as the name implies, it's really not that impressive. I had a steak and shrimp burrito. And it was good, but full of pico de gallo mostly. My son ordered nachos, which were ok, but seemed to be lacking cheese. Lots of pico (again) and some really good and fresh guacamole, but not really much cheese. And several chips were chewy and not totally cooked. The wife had a nacho style steak burrito which was LARGE. Bigger than the one I got. The owners/founders are on the right track with the tex mex style. And it certainly fresh. It just didn't do much for me. I guess I enjoyed Rubios better. This place has more selection than Chipotle, but I think I like them a little more. It's just a personal preference. They have good service and are very clean. It's not bad, but also not my cup of tea I suppose.

Pretty straight forward stuff. Cheap taco and burrito inspirations done cheaply and quickly. They throw around the term "fresh" a lot and seeing a lot of yelpers here being resistant to their terminology. Let's not kid ourselves. So does Subway. So what do we really think they are trying to get away with here? In terms of trying to eat healthy quickly and cheaply, this could be your least worst option. I'm not going to try to make any claims though that a 1000 calorie burrito is "healthy", however. They don't freeze their food and it's not overly refined. This doesn't mean that it's a high quality product, it's still fast food. One thing I appreciate is the consistency in familiar faces. Every time I go, it's the same people. I'm guessing the staff sticks around for some reason. Makes me feel better about putting my money into a place knowing they take care of their people. Although I haven't been around in a while, at times they even remember my order, even though I order a couple different options.

Pretty straight forward food. Was super easy to get and order, even though the website was down the people at the front made it very easy to order by phone :).Thank you!

I had never been to Baja Fresh until today and my was I pleasantly surprised! This place had just what I was looking for, pork tacos. Not only did they have authentic tacos, they were some of the best I have had! The staff was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean and spacious. My meal was ridiculously cheap, and completely filling. Too bad it's so close to my work.. I will now be there way TOO often. I can't give this place enough praise!

Baja Fresh used to be a reliable go-to place that I relied on for a quick meal that was inexpensive. I stopped going because the staff is just so snotty. Last night was a toss up for quick Mexican food in Beaverton- Chipotle or BF. I wanted fish tacos, so BF won. On the food- decent for the price. Salsa was shockingly spicy for being labeled mild. Fish tacos were ok- the fish was super dry and rock hard. Chips were stale and bland. Everything else was just fine. Staff- I won't go into this in detail because it will just make me mad, but it frustrates me when there is a very clear preference given to customers of a certain race (and I'm not that race). Sigh. I see it more and more, and I don't know how to get around it. The other super annoying thing about BF that is not new- even hours before closing time (like 3 hours), the staff sweeps and mops UNDER the table we're sitting out. Unappetizing, distracting, and awkward- literally, the broom was under my feet while I was trying to eat. Is this necessary? I don't know- another 2 year break might be in order.

I love the salsa bar idea - far more than the actual salsa. I love the emphasis on fresh foods - far more than the actual food. This is not to say that the food is terrible; it isn't. This is to say that the concept behind the restaurant always makes me think I'm going to get something even better than I actually do. It's not bad - certainly better than fast food - but the reality doesn't live up to what I associate with "fresh".

This is a chain store, in a strip mall, so you pretty much know how this is going to go down. Unfortunately when you walk in there's no mariachi band to greet you and hand you margarita, while playing la cucaracha. Actually I'm not sure that's not a plus. You walk in, walk through the stanchions which, unless it's right at lunch or dinner, are usually empty. The menu is over head. I wish that there were more pictures and better descriptions so I would know what was in the various mex-inspired concoctions. You order, you pay, you wait 3-5 minutes they call out your name and you get your food. The food is good. Not great. It's a chain in a strip mall for godsakes. For $5-$10 meal, from a chain restaurant in a strip mall the food is above average. Way better option than the typical fast food joints. Salsa bar with peppers is nice. I like the different flavors and spiceyness, and usually end up with my own frankenstien salsa/pico de gayo. I highly recommend you splurge here. The diablo shrimp burrito isn't on he menu any longer but you can still order it! They also have a happy hour specials that I didn't know about. The facilities are clean, almost too sterile and without any real charm. But if I haven't beaten a dead horse, it's a chain restaurant in a strip mall. It's too be expected. I've been eating here a lot more lately as I'm fat and need to eat better. It's a great alternative to fast food, for marginally more money. 3 stars. No real complaints. Nothing fantastic deserving more stars.

There are so many places to choose from on Cedar Hills when you're on your lunch break. I love me some fish tacos, so I'll stop by every now and then, because its close. A good value overall. I love their salsa bar - the current mango seasonal salsa is so good that I ate it by itself before my food came. I like that they have cilantro on the salsa bar, because I can never have too much of that on my food. And they've got some outdoor seating! While still tasty, the fish is sometimes a bit tough and overcooked. The service is friendly yet inconsistent - sometimes I get my food quickly, sometimes I don't. Most recently they were out of chips, and said they'd bring some to my table with my order, but they forgot. Not huge infractions, but disappointments nonetheless.

Okay, so Baja Fresh is not really a place that I'd normally write a Yelp review on. But dude... the service at this one was so good!! Haha, first off the people were just ridiculously nice, way more than you'd expect from a fast food type restaurant, and they gave us chips and guacamole to munch on while we waited for our food (which normally costs $3.99 so I'm not really sure why?) and the food really didn't even take that long. Also, their food is as usual pretty delish, but ya know, not anything super special.

Pretty safe "Mexican" food, gourmet fast food style with big portions, good flavor, and extra extra calories!! yum!! :) The nachos are ridiculous big... a normal person could probably have 3 servings of it. Seriously, I'm not joking when I say ridiculous big. It's delicious, of course! Plenty of cheese, meat, sour cream, guacamole... mmm, so good! On the bad side, this all tallies it up to 2,000 calories on it! No wonder I've been feeling puffy... The salsa bar is delicious! There's 5 or 6 different salsas plus canned jalapeños, cilantro, and lime to my heart's content. It's the main reason I have and will always drift back to Baja Fresh.

you know the theme song to Cheers..... the line "you want to go where everyone knows your name"? well that is how I feel here. I love this place and this is my regular place to get food. I am greeted depending on who is working either by name or by a smile and recognition. I usually order the same things and usually decline the chips since I have some at home at most times. so.... they always ask.... no chips??? they have very good memories and I love the staff here. The food..... the steak is by taste not good but then if I am craving an asada taco... I go to the street carts. I am in love with their chicken. The baja taco plate is the way I go. I have tried their taquitos, some of the burritos and have never found anything I didnt care for....except the steak but again that is just my tastes. now let me tell you my fav part here..... THE SMOKEY QUESO FUNDITO.... crack.... I am sure the secret ingredient is crack. oh my god..... it is crack. Since everything is made fresh the queso sometimes can be a bit watery or super thick... but I keep coming back. Salsa bar. Try them find your favs and look forward to changing of the seasons. They have one seasonal salsa that changes through out the year. I have never seen this place dirty, the staff is always helpful and the food fresh and wonderful

Various type of salsa are serviced in this place. Neat place eventhough there is a construction going on this area but still customers keep coming in. Try their chicken taquitos for sure.

Slow Service , Cold Food, and Sandy Rock in the Black Beans It took over 20 minutes to get my order. ( on previous visits it was more like 7 minutes max) The taco's were sitting in front of the order taker's nose for 10 minutes while she waited for a burrito. We finally got our food after they served a couple who ordered after us, again the order taker seemed confused, not trained. When we finally got our food and started to eat the food it was cold, and the big problem is that I crunched down on a rock in the black beans. The fish did not taste fresh. Crew seemed to have a "we gotta get out of here and screw the customers" attitude. Most people don't write negative reviews, they simply go away and I agree with a Twitter Tweet that said he predicted this place will be out of business soon. If it is not the construction , it is the quality of the food and service. Will not return. Maybe I should try Chipotle down the street next time.

I wish I could say good things. But its coming up on 2.5 years when I found a square copper piece in my black beans of my food and when I called to report it they kept telling me that they had no copper in the kitchen. I went in to get my money back and they said they could only refund my food. I think reported it to the main office and they still did nothing. My company does not take orders from this place anymore and I have Definitely shared my story. You guys have great food. But I would never place anything in my food to get it for free.

You know, I resisted eating at Baja Fresh for so long. I will say that now it is about the only fast food I will eat. I am always impressed that their ingredients are fresh and at some locations you can even see through to their kitchens and see stacks of real fresh fruits and veggies because they actually cut up their own produce etc. Having a non grease option is great so when you are on the go you can feel a touch better about eating "fast food". I like the reliability as well - I know I can count on ordering the same meal and having it consistently taste the same. This location I have gone to for years and they must make their staff happy because I see the same smiling faces behind the counter year after year - they are always VERY friendly and have never messed up an order once for me.

Baja Fresh is like the first guy off the bench when you don't feel like traveling to your favorite Mexican place. I like it. I usually just get a basic bean, rice, and cheese burrito with pico de gallo a side of chips. It's just something I picked up from way back in high school (only difference being is Baja Fresh doesn't have RC cola). It's usually super fast even if you got at peak times. Everything really does seem fresh here and it tastes good, so what's not to like? Mostly all Baja Fresh's are usually pretty clean. Parking's not a problem at this location since it's in a small mini mall area.

Baja Stale. When a restaurant is mailing coupons there is a reason. The food was awful. Fresh is not the word to describe the food. Don't bother going there, go spend your money at Chipotle down the street.

Their food is fresh. They have good salsa. The guy at the counter was a real gem despite all the drama my phoned-in order caused them. And they sell churros. What's not to love?? Only the fact that they're not *really* mexican food.

The chicken nachos are the bomb!! I just wish you could order them in small or regular sizes because I can never finish the whole thing.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
