I keep going back here when Thai cravings hit and it's the bomb.com every single time. The pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with tofu is hard to beat. My mom ordered fried rice and it was delicious also. She is a fried rice critic, yet she finished her plate with satisfaction. They also have a rewards program. Use your rewards card to get points and use points to receive free appetizer, drink, dessert, or entrée! Ambiance is clean, warm, and peaceful with appropriate music and volume. This place is for sure underrated. It is my regular "date" spot with friends, family, and colleagues. LOVE. it.

Great food, good service, and reasonable price for an authentic Thai food.

I stopped by Baan Thai on a whim while on my way to do some shopping. The interior was nice enough, although it was nothing to write home about either. I think it could use a little bit of updating over all. However it was clean and the staff was very friendly. We ordered the crab puffs, chicken pad thai and green beans with tofu. Nothing was great nor terrible. The pad thai also a bit soggy. The food definately seemed over priced for the food quality ($10.50 per plate).

The rating is mostly due to owner. I gave this place a try early 2015, ordered Chicken Pad Thai to pick up and quickly knew this would be my favorite place to get this favorite dish of mine. It was a very good balance of savory and sweet elements. Plenty of vegetables and chicken too. I ended up coming back 2 more times for pad thai and 2 more for drunk noodle. Each time the food was great, and the owner was nice with a good since of humor. Well at least he laughed at my jokes. It has been a while since I came back, due to needing to save money. I thought as a treat I would go back, but get something different. Unfortunately with this last time there was a issue, and I was pretty bummed out. I'm shy as it is, and the last time I told a restaurant about a issue they looked at me and shrugged. But then, I thought about how nice he's always been so I got over my bashfulness and called. He was very nice and sincere and wanted to do what it would take to make everything beyond right. Thank you!

not too shabby~~ when we saw the sign outside, we thought this was the same baan thai as the one located near PSU -- which was extremely delicious from what i recall. but when we asked our server he said they are not affiliated at all. we didnt know what to expect so we ordered the basics to be safe. appitizer: crab rangoon main: pad thai, pad kee mao pad thai was a bit on the sweet side which i wasnt a fan of.. and noodles were a bit overdone.. pad kee mao was delicious!! flavors were wonderful n noodles tasted fresh our server seemed a lil busy cause i think he was only one on the clock, but he was very nice n tried his best to be attentive! i would come back and give it another shot.

12/26/14, Update already, hell yes! We have been back a few times since they opened and they continue to impress us with their quality and skill in cooking authentic Thai food. Today I actually tried something new, the Pra-Ram Noodle with Chicken, if you love Peanut Sauce this is for you, soo good. Of course I HAD to have my Crab Rangoons and Hubby tried the Panang Curry, I had some and it was very complex and yummy! I am so happy they replaced the old Restaurant they are a thousand times better. They are NOT affiliated with the downtown Restaurant and I made a mistake in my previous review about the cost of the soda I noticed today. It is actually $1.50 for a soda and it comes in a can with a glass of ice, which would be my preference anyway. I could not be happier to have an authentic, thoughtful and skilled Thai Restaurant in Beaverton!

We have been to this location before but recently there has been a change. New owner, decor, menu, and new name. Not complaining...... much. We wanted to love this place, but as I wrote this review I took away one star and sadly another.. Maybe it was the choices of our meals. Looking a other photos everything looks fantastic. I usually opt for soup at Thai restaurants and compare 'coconut soups'. Tom Ka Soup won me over and my daughter and I shared this with her choice of Temple Cashew. Five stars for the soup presentation. Gave a unique and fun experience to the dish and our whole meal. The soup itself had great flavor with a little spicy kick. With only two pieces of tomato and few mushrooms in the large soup the amount of chicken made up for the lack of listed description items on the menu. Temple Cashew with Chicken; we both thought was a little too sweet, matter of opinion, but Very, very disappointed with the amount of cashews in the dish. If I did not know it was to have cashews I never would of known. I had to look for them. The cashews, very tiny and sparse. Hence the word cashew in the title Temple Cashew. Cashews are worth a star and a half. I am sure we will be back because the service was excellent. The restaurant clean and music that actually fits the theme and not American pop music like I hear in many places. These were our first meals at the new restaurant and can not elaborate on other dishes but to sum up, these particular dishes need to include more of the items from the menu since they are listed in the description.

Pretty good food and it's not packed all the time so you can actually get some lunch in relative peace. They make good pad se ew and it's available with the lunch special that comes with soup. I haven't tried much more yet but overall I'm a fan.

I love Thai food, just not from here. It was actually disgusting, and I was unable to eat it. The fresh rolls had lettuce, carrot, and red cabbage (looks like from salad bag) which was pinkish due to being old. Barf. Totally inedible. Next, the Tom Ka soup was basically a bunch of big nearly raw onion strips, green onion flakes, 2 chunks of tomato with the skin and seeds, and 3 tough shrimp- again, totally inedible. The chicken basil was oily, the meat was not lean chicken breast as I was told it would be ( it was white ish meat w a lot of connective tissue?), and the bell peppers were basically raw. I can make Thai food way better than this. What a waste of 30 bucks!!! Update: The owner returned my phone call and provided a full refund. For what it's worth, I greatly appreciate the excellent customer service.

I visited Baan Thai for the first time since they opened, as I was a big fan of the previous restaurant that had been in their place. The atmosphere was very clean and welcoming as my party of two entered, and were quickly seated. We ordered a Thai Ice Tea and Thai Coffee, of which were pretty tasty. We ordered a large Tom Kha soup, which was maybe enough for three people as an appetizer. I ordered Phad See Yu with beef, and my spouse ordered Chicken Phad Thai. My beef was very bland and slightly tough. The veggies in the dish were unseasoned and tasted akin to a plain steamed vegetable for a bag. The sauce was thin, and didn't help tie anything together. My spouse had similar feelings about her own dish. We both left full, but very disappointed. I am doubtful we will want to return.

Change your name or not, this place still sucks, and like I said before, if I could give negative scores I still would give it to them. Do Not go here if you want good customer service. I could not believe how aggressive and and pushy the server was. We ended up leaving before ordering so unfortunately I don't know how the food is. But we went next door to Pho Hoai and it was amazing!! Food and service. Thank you Pho Hoai!

Their food is ok. I usually order the eggplant stir fry from the old Thai 5 Restaurant before they switch over to Baan Thai and I thought the old owners cooked it better. My only complain about this new Baan Thai is that rice DOES NOT come with any stir fry dishes. They make you pay extra for rice!! I did not know that it does not come with rice until I came home from ordering my take out eggplant dish! How cheap are the owners to not include rice with any stir fry dishes. MOST Thai restaurants give you rice with their dishes and DO NOT charge extra for it. COME ON new owners, rice only cost you maybe 50cent?? If you are a new restaurant and wants to attract new customers DON'T be this petty and charge for rice. It does not cost that much!!! I WILL NOT come back to this restaurant EVER!!!

We gave this place a try to see if another Thai place closer to home was good. We had a variety of items that all in all were pretty good. The new owners have some different versions than the previous. Had their version of cashew chicken. It was tasty, however a touch sweet to my taste. The Pad Thai was pretty good, but again a touch on the sweeter side. We had another dish with peanut sauce on noodles. That was pretty good, if you like peanut sauce. The final dish was the Pad se yu. Another favorite that was done pretty well. Price wise, this place is about $1 or so higher than other nearby Thai restaurants. Quality of the food was pretty decent. Service, it was a bit slow. Not too busy when we went in (a few tables occupied), but the one server was pretty busy to give much attention. Anyway, may be back, just don't know. Didn't knock my socks off to make it the go to place.

We went in tonight hoping that this was another branch of the Baan Thai restaurant by PSU. Sadly, it is not, but we decided to give it a shot anyway. I don't think my review here is reflecting that disappointment because it was quickly dismissed as a non-issue. Garden Rolls as an appetizer was our starting plate. The rolls were large and well packed, but overall a bit dry. Maybe this was due to the large amount of greenery packed into the dryish rice paper. They were flavorful though. The bean thread noodles inside were almost absent. The tamarind sauce served with it was thick and sweet and not a great compliment. Because we had children with us, they gave us some peanut sauce for these also. It too was thick and very different from peanut sauces we've come to know and love elsewhere. This one seemed to be missing coconut milk to soften the peanut flavor and thin things out a bit. Our dinner entree plates consisted of phad see ew (my usual barometer of a Thai restaurant's quality), spicy noodles (a saucy, wide noodle dish), and a tamarind shrimp dish. Of the three, the spicy noodles were the best because they were the most flavorful. The pad see ew didn't have the sweet, savory umami-ness that I've come to expect from this dish and was rather dry (under-sauced). The portion size was also a bit small and seriously lacking in the quantity of wide noodles served. The spicy noodles were on the edge of spicy, but a bit lacking in noodle quantity for the price charged. This was the only dish of the three entrees that had any sort of flavor depth. The tamarind shrimp was way too sweet. It needed to be balanced by some saltiness and/or spiciness to cut through the sticky sweetness. The shrimp were not prepared as advertised and were insanely bland to compound this dish's flaws. The quantity of shrimp was nice, but its accompaniments were seriously lacking. Our poor server was the only one manning the dining room. He was very friendly and attentive when he actually had the time to stop by our table. Having Baan Thai having recently replaced the stellar Thai 5 that was there previously, I was hoping they were going to be up to the same quality level. Sadly they are not, and I don't think we'll be coming back for more. In the competitive Beaverton Thai food market, quality needs to be stellar to draw me back and it wasn't.

Tried this placed based on reviews posted recently touting under new ownership. Not impressed sadly. Zab Thai is better. Tiny portions and everything including rice is a separate charge. In an Asian restaurant no less. Sorry food was mediocre portions small and overpriced and I'd even say stingy. Wish I could give less than one star.

Did not like the flavor on the pad Thai. Feel that the price is to spend for the portion size. We had a good server but do not plan to return.

Our family absolutely loves Thai food and have several dishes that we tend to get that we use as our benchmarks. Luckily, even at Baan Thai's "soft opening" (not full menu yet) they had our favorites. First, the restaurant, while situated in a strip mall, is well decorated and warm and inviting. Service was immediate and very friendly (waters always refilled immediately, table wiped down between courses). The chef had a "Thai popcorn" creation that was given to us while we perused the menu. It was very creative and we ate it all. Our starter was Thom Ka soup, a large, which was served in a very creative Thai hot pot, with a burner keeping the soup warm. The soup had a great flavor, and my husband declared that we could return to the restaurant for that alone. The large was probably enough for four or five, and we managed to eat more than we should have. Our main dishes were Massaman curry (our favorite) and pineapple curry. All of the dishes came with the option of a 1-5 star heat rating we could choose. We tried 3 and 4, and found that 3 was a true medium spice while 4 had a bit of a kick (will stick to 4 from now on). Both dishes were served nicely with a good array of fresh vegetables and the protein of our choice. The flavors were fairly spot on from our experiences, and the bowl of rice was fresh and properly sticky. A condiment tray was brought out in case we needed to customize our spice. After our meal, we were given the check quickly and also given small cups of sweet fruit jelly as a going-away sweet. Portions were generous enough that we got to take some home for later! We will put this on our list of Thai favorites!

Just got back from a late lunch at this location with my Mom. They have an oyster appetizer (special) that is to DIE for! My Mom LOVES seafood (especially oysters) & she kept saying that they were the best oysters she had EVER had. We got the sampler plate (crab rangoons, prawn rolls, spring rolls & pot stickers) because we liked EVERYTHING on it last time we went & couldn't decide which we liked best. I also got a small bowl of the Tom Kha with chicken because I was cold & knew it would warm me up. I love the different flavors & textures in the soup. For my main dish I got the Pad See Ewe with pork & instantly fell in love. I couldn't believe how tasty it was. Mom got the papaya salad & loved how refreshing it was. Before we left, Mom got ANOTHER order of the oysters to go-they were so good that she just couldn't resist. We are both looking forward to coming back & seeing what else we can try.

Baan Thai is located in one of Beaverton's most interesting strip malls. Among Baan Thai's neighbors are a Goodwill, an Asian grocery store, a Japanese restaurant, a Chicago themed bar, and a Vietnamese restaurant. Baan Thai Authentic Thai Cuisine is actually the second Thai restaurant to occupy this spot. For starters Baan Thai is a beautiful and very comfortable restaurant. The walls are decorated with brilliant photography and art work. Soft and relaxing gamelan style music plays in the background. Service is friendly but very slow. We experienced long waits and gaps in service. Our server was a very nice man but there were a couple of times I wanted to send out a search party for him. The menu is your typical Thai fair. Appetizers, soups, salads, Pad Thai, fried rice dishes, stir fries, noodle dishes, etc.. To me the prices seemed on the high side. Add chicken to your Papaya salad and you're well over $10. On Baan Thai's chalk board there was a "Shrimp Special" for around $6. However, our server explained that the Shrimp Special was an appetizer. That certainly wasn't clear from the sign. We tried to order lettuce wraps but our server explained that "she" hadn't finished making them. He went on to explain that he couldn't guarantee that "she" would be finished making her lettuce wraps in time for us. Oh well. For lunch we sampled Chicken Satay, Coconut Fried Shrimp, and Drunken Noodles with Prawns. One of Baan Thai Authentic Thai Cuisine's strengths is their seasonings. All of our dishes were flavored perfectly. The Chicken Satay and Coconut Fried Shrimp were delicious. However, I was disappointed with the Drunken Noodles. Adding prawns to my Drunken Noodles pushed the price to up around $13. What I received was like four medium sized prawns. Was wishing I had left them out. The basil leafs were so overcooked that they were like basil chips. Almost inedible. Beaverton, Oregon is so full of Thai restaurants that a person can be picky. Unfortunately Baan Thai Authentic Thai Cuisine would never be my first pick.

This week I'm going to start eating clean. My old body is ready for change. I like Thai fod though. Is it "clean"? If not.....well, I wanna be dirty. Thai food has that sweet, sour, salty, crunchy, unctious, addictive, umami thing going on.The Portland area is full of Thai restaurants. Some are mediocre, some average, some good, some special. Ive been in all of them. Ok. Not all. Many. This is one of the good ones I think Popped into this fairly new Thai place for a quick Monday night meal. Pad see ew and pineapple curry. The flavors were spot on. The rice appropriately sticky. The proteins were tender, veggies still a little crunchy. Good stuff. Heat ranges 1-4. A 2 was just on the edge of too spicy for me. But a 1 is no heat. Next time maybe I will try a 2-?the nice man said they will adjust for guest requests. A loud takeout odering lady requested a 6!!wow. The place was pretty empty and mostly quiet. The music was initially a bit loud but I think it was turned down. That lady ordering takeout was loud and it kinda carried to our table but she soon left. The patient and kind server was attentive and friendly. Waters were promptly refilled. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. Im going back. There are interesting specials and some menu items they don't have at the couple places I frequent closer to my house. Variety is nice, right? Guess I'm going to have to get dirty again.....bummer.

Baan Thai serves up unusually high quality and interesting food for a neighborhood thai restaurant. The new owner is a genuine person who clearly cares about improvement and takes suggestions to heart. The noodle dishes are always fresh and flavorful, the chicken wings are excellent and the tom kha is out of this world. Unfortunately because of their location they are popular as a takeout restaurant but its definitely worth dining in and I wish them success.

This is the best Thai food in the Beaverton area, not greasy and very flavorful. Large portions and friendly staff.

We will be returning soon. The best thom kha I have had in a long time and and they were able to serve us with items not on the menu. The pumpkin curry was excellent and so was the service.

They're were a lot more people coming here for take out than actually dining in - such a shame, as the ambiance of this place was not too bad. Although, now I at least have a good place for take out. You yelpers raved about the Drunken Noodles - so that's what I ordered. No regrets - definitely a well balanced and flavorful meal. I got a 1 star heat level, and it was plenty of heat for me. The texture of the flat rice noodles were perfect, and they were not at all stingy with their meat portioning. I also ordered one of their soups - cant remember what it was - but it had coconut milk in it along with lime. It was decent, a bit salty for my tastes. I'd definitely come back - but not for the soup.

We used to order take-out when this establishment was under previous management, as it's close and convenient to home. We were interested to try Baan Thai when it opened, but our first experience (dining in) was marred by exceptionally SLOW service. At that time, we were told by way of apology that a new hire had failed to show, so they were understaffed. We decided to give them a pass -- we know these things happen and perhaps they needed more time as a new business to sort out the logistics. Fast forward several months later. I ordered takeout and was given a 15-20 minute time frame. I went shopping, returned, and it appeared my order hadn't even been started! The house was far from full - -in fact only four tables. One other takeout customer and I both ended up waiting far too long for our orders, and conversation from the kitchen indicated that there was some confusion over what needed to be cooked when, and for whom. The food itself was fine. I would have liked to return to try some of their other dishes, but with a number of good Thai restaurants to choose from in our area that don't have kitchen delays, we'll most likely head elsewhere next time.

Absolutely the best thai in the area! I have ordered take out frequently and never disappointed. I love the service. The family atmosphere (cutest little boy ever) and superb food. Will never get Thai anywhere else! Ahmazing!

I LOVE this restaurant! I was sad when it closed last year. I gave the new owner a try. Even better than the previous owner. I tried my two favorites dishes...Pad thai was yummy and the Tom Kah soup is AWESOME! I get it with chicken. I eat here about every 10 days. It is so good! Atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Very clean place. Great service.

Nice staff, prompt service, better than average Thai food. The orange chicken is my favorite so far. Pad kee mao is usually my favorite, but theirs is a little dry. I would give it five stars, but I like my food very spicy, and even their "authentic" isn't terribly spicy. Also, they charge $1.50 for a cup of white rice! If you're ordering out and getting something you would normally eat with rice (like curry or orange chicken) I strongly recommend you cook yourself some rice to go with your meal, because an extra $1.50 per rice dish is ridiculous. Something funny I've noticed is that most of their dishes say they come with mushrooms, but almost never do, and sometimes there are surprise baby corn. Today it came with mushrooms, so that was a nice change.

The massuman curry was horrible. The sauce was really thin, the potatoes hadn't had time to take on any of the flavor from the curry. We so ordered the pineapple fried rice which was really good, until I noticed that they just dumped a bag of frozen veggie mix into the rice... it would have been GREAT without the FROZEN peas, carrots, corn(seriously?) and green beens. We also order the crab rangoon which was pretty good compared to some of the other thai places in the area.

Been here 5 times can't stop the love great food great service! Can't get enough of the massaman curry super hot and spicy. Absolutely best Thai food on this side of town! U have to try never a disappointment! If u love thai food this is it! If u like it hot ask for the hottest u won't be disappointed. Love it will be our regular spot! These guys Are the real deal!

We ordered Togo so don't know how the dining experience is. Told the food would be done in 20 minutes. Long wait time considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Anyways we ordered the pad Thai and eggplant stir fry. The pad Thai was good. Was flavorful to my liking with a nice touch of heat. The noodles was not soggy. Unfortunately the stir fry didn't have much flavor and the portion was small for the price. What was sad was that the stir fry did not came with rice! First Thai restaurant that I have ordered from that charges extra for rice. Rice doesn't cost that much people! This place is pricer than other surrounding Thai restaurants. Overall I will order their pad Thai and try other noodle dishes next time but no more eggplant stir fry for me.

The owner is a super nice guy, service is great. There were a few dishes that didn't blow me away, but the dishes I like will keep me coming back. Must have dishes I've discovered so far are Panang Curry and Pad Kea Mao (drunken noodles)! I'm sure there's plenty more gems on their menu... and I will find them over time ;). I can normally take or leave Crab Rangoon, but it's a "must have" here.

3rd time here today within the past week. The owner is very polite and provides such great customer service. The dishes are delicious and I can definitely say I've been satisfied with the dishes I've ordered lately. I'd highly recommend trying out this restaurant if you haven't already!
