Pretentious (really, a 10 minute talk about the history of the restaurant when you are ready to order?). The appetizers were excellent (bruchetta, calamari), but the gnocci was so-so, and the sauce and sausage were pretty bland. The canoli was acceptable but did not blow me away. OK if their prices were less.

Villa Ravenna is amazing! Not knocking Tulsa but I was shocked to find Italian food of this quality here. I've had some amazing Italian food in my life. From West coast to east coast to Rome, Florence and Venice - I've had Italian food! I actually should have been an Italian...doesn't get much better than Italian food, clothes, cars, leather goods (viva Ferragamo!), etc...and Italy herself! This Italian family owned piece of heaven does it right!! We started with Burrata (I believe) alla Caprese and the Wild Boar sausage. The Caprese is a twist on the traditional Mozzarella alla Caprese. I can't remember how they do the mozzarella but is was fabulous and super moist and with the rolled prosciutto, cherry size sliced tomatoes and gorgeous basil; all glazed gently with olive oil and a lovely balsamic reduction! The Wilde Boar Sausage, well I'm not sure how to describe it other than mouth watering flavorful and what appeared to be aged bacon that blended with the sausage perfectly! The main course was nothing short of EPIC!! It was one of two specials for the evening and I can assure you my words will not do it justice. It was Seafood Fettuccine Carbonara - first you must start with handmade pasta then perfectly cooked bacon morsels. The Alfredo sauce was refined and blended in a way that was even more creamy than you would normal taste in an Alfredo. Then there was the seafood; 4 perfectly grilled large scallop strategical position on four sides on the plated while mixed in with fettuccine and alfredo sauce was literally so much fresh water lobster and shrimp that defies anything I've experienced before. The price for the special - $45...stop there. If you are saying to yourself that pricey, I would argue no way...not for the amount of scallops, lobster and shrimp in the dish! I'm telling you this dish delivers on everything !!! Absolutely wonderous!! ( is that actually a word?:) If you live in Tulsa and have not visited this gem you have not dined in Tulsa.

This unassuming restaurant tucked away in a corner of The Farm shopping center is actually one of Tulsa's fine dining gems. The food is delicious, and the intimate atmosphere makes it perfect for a date night - just make sure you make a reservations, as they are always very busy. I tend to order the exact same thing every single visit to the restaurants I frequent, and that would be the Fettuccine Bolognese here. Perfectly cooked pasta topped by a hearty meat sauce - it's hard to go wrong! I would love it if they would add beef carpaccio to the menu...my idea of Italian heaven is carpaccio followed by bolognese. But their Caesar salad isn't a bad start. The menu is varied, with lots of pasta and other hearty dishes...maybe I'll branch out and try something new next time! But probably not.

My girlfriend and I tried this last night as she was craving Italian and it was one of the few places open. I'm not a particularly seasoned authentic Italian eater, but she lived in Naples for a little while in college so she's pretty picky. Our previous outing at Mondo's was not particularly well-received on her end. According to her this was as authentic as it gets. She was particularly impressed with the Gnocchi she ordered and I was very happy with the Ravioli alla Panna. Be prepared to pay a fair amount of money and if you get alcohol your bill could get away from you a bit, but the atmosphere is very enjoyable and the food is of fantastic quality.

My favorite authentic Italian restaurant in Tulsa! You typically need to make a reservation in advance for dinner. They made our surprise engagement dinner the best! Our party of 12 was seated in one of several rooms in the restaurant, which is located in the Farm Shopping Center. The lighting was dark, but not too dark to read the menu, with white table cloths. The wall decor set the Italian presence nicely, and a glass of ice water was already set out for each person. Pros and Recommendations: - Waiter was prompt with everyone during the entire dinner, gave us a nice background of the restaurant's history upfront, and could discuss any menu item in great detail to help everyone make the best decision. - The menu has a large selection of pasta, meat, and seafood dishes to cater to all preferences, but done the Italian way. - Pear Gorgonzola, wild hog, and calamari appetizers were perfectly made and/or cooked! - As a gnocchi fan, I was impressed with their gnocchi, which had the option to add three different cheese sauces...definitely worth the few extra dollars! - Wine and beer list was good with both U.S. and Italian options for both. The prices for all of them were reasonable for this class of restaurant as well. They also have unique signature cocktails available along with a full bar. - The staff kept us stocked on warm bread and their house made dipping oil that had a bold, wonderful flavor! - The staff signed and presented a congratulations card along w/ two lemon shots, which was very sweet. I'm not a huge fan of lemon, but of course theirs was amazing. They do everything top notch and from scratch! This hidden gem has been around for decades, and I cannot wait to go back and try different entrees with more Cabernet! :) You will often see the owners present, and one of the owners, the wife, actually cooked our food! Very kind, classy, and genuine people.

This place is as good as all the reviews say. Great service and atmosphere. My date ordered a Ravenna sour to drink and I had to steal a sip. It was outstanding. The food was top notch. We had an appetizer with prosciutto and figs that was very well presented as well as being delicious. Lots of variety on the menu, so there is something for every palette and price range. Can't wait to go back and try some more dishes.

Showed up at 9:00 and they apparently closed even tho we made a reservation and 'we though tried to call you'. Bullshit. They didn't.

Loved it. From the limoncello martini (Wowza!) to the appetizer (special "ramped up" caprese type dish to the lobster ravioli and beef tenderloin plus a cannoli to go for dessert. Every single thing was delicious!! We were a few minutes early for our reservation (make one!) so we sat in the entry way hallway and had a drink. Service was really good and friendly. We'll go back!

I don't give 5 stars, so it would require two visits before I could wax effusive on the food at Villa Ravenna. We visited from Dallas in 2014 and then again this weekend. The proprietor is from Venice and I believe it shows in the menu, recipes and atmosphere. Our party is always 5 people, and we always try a variety of dishes. Standouts this time were the creamy decadent burrata caprese, the fettucine carbonara della mare, the tortelloni. I have to detour for a minute to talk about the pastas... all their pasta is homemade, and ours were all perfectly cooked, from the cappellini to the ravioli. The fettucine carbonara is a dish I won't soon forget: big sweet chunks of lobster, four pan-seared jumbo scallops, and at least six big Gulf shrimp. We had the Gorgonzola-stuffed figs wrapped in proscuitto but I thought they were a mite too salty. House-made limoncello was to be had in many forms, of course. Service was good both times. We will definitely return and I would highly recommend for a business dinner, special celebration evening, or even a big family event like rehearsal dinner. Villa Ravenna is dark, romantic, authentic and delicious.

Stop what you are doing and make a reservation NOW!! Absolutely the best Italian meal I have enjoyed in Oklahoma! With that being said, this is one of the best restaurants I have ever darkened the door of. Don't let the outside fool you. This hidden paradise is nestled in the Farm Shopping Center. Upon entering you feel like you've stepped into another world. The ambience is simple yet rustic in a way - Old World Italy. Sergio, the owner, is always on hand making sure his guests are treated as family. The meal you eat is authentic to his home region and the recipes are from his wife. The service is 5 star! Jessie always sees to our needs. We always leave pleased and ready to return. Several times a year they host elaborate wine dinners- Go!!!!!!!! This place is worth every penny and is sure to impress. Excellent wine. Stellar menu. Homemade limoncello. Gentlemen, take your lady here. Ladies, put on the nice outfit you have been wanting to wear. This is an event - this is a celebration - this is Villa Ravenna!

My favorite date night restaurant in Tulsa, bar none. The menu has a great deal of variety without being overwhelming. Both times I've been there, the service has been both friendly and efficient which is not easy to do. If you like seafood (like, REALLY like seafood), try the Yani's Special. The limoncello is amazing. The storefront is unassuming but the atmosphere is really nice and intimate. Just fantastic.

No joke people!!! This is hands down the best Italian restaurant in town. The food is ridiculously wonderful. I have tried a few of the different dishes with each offering its own pleasure. However, I screwed up when I got the sea bass with seafood risotto. Why? Well, I would like to try more of the menu, but when I come across a fantastic dish I can't deviate from it. THE SEA BASS is so friggin' great!!! The appetizers are a must have as well. You must start off with a limoncello martini (they are know for these...trust me) and finish you meal with the limoncello cake (take it home if you're full). If this place ever closes its doors and goes out of business there will be hell to pay!!!!! ;)

This review will more then likely be the longest one yet! Why, you ask? Well because it is that awesome!!!! First off Sergio is a doll! He has been so kind to my family and relatives I bring in from out of state (which has been many). The outside can be deceiving, but once you enter it is seriously beautiful!!! Our first time here was our anniversary 2013. My hubby found this place on pure luck! Since then, we have came here for all our special events, not to mention family and friends that come visit! Since I am Italian it is VERY hard to find that great italian place to eat! So when I give this place 5 stars I am saying, this is ITALIAN food at it's BEST!!!! Sergio, flys in most of his food, hence why everything tastes so amazing. He is right from italy, his strong accent gives this place that extra charm! He was so nice to spend time talking Italian with my dad when he came to visit. My father was very taken by this place and asks if we have gone lately and what we tried. I hear him drooling through the phone, lol! Ok, so here we go, as far as wines, ALL are outstanding. Ask waiter for a pairing with your meal! THE RAVENNA SOUR made with Sergio's homemade Limoncello is SERIOUSLY OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! This my friend is a MUST try if you go here!!! As far as appetizers, the Mozzeralla Alla Caprese, Sauteed Mussels, Escargot and Calamari are ALL outstanding. However, our fave hands down is the Escargot!!! Moving onto the main meals, we have tried: The vitello Osso Buco with Risotto (not a fave, wouldn't order again), Beef Tenderloin (OMG heaven), Pollo Alla Parmigiana (my FAVE), Polla Piccata (Very Good), Lamb Chops (YUM), Ravioli Bolognese (too small a dish), Shrimp Scampi (outstanding), Eggplant Parmigina (amazing), Linguini with Clams (my father raved), the linguine tossed in garlic-olive oil w/sauteed spinach is seriously the best, now the TRUE TEST.....If the spaghetti & meatballs is great that means you got my vote as true italian cooking! They were seriously the best!! I would order this dish again for sure!!!! The Caesar Salad is another fave, we get one every time we come, as it is big enough to share!!! Deserts: The Lemoncello Cake and Chocolate Cake are our faves!!! Can't go wrong with either one. If you had a heavy meal, I recommend the Lemoncello Cake. It is light. I highly recommend reservations, this place is always busy and is small. So to ensure you get a table. This I would encourage. Parking is plenty. Never had a issue here! Bathrooms, are clean and so charming. Pricing is med-high end. Well worth every penny. Seriously your eating homemade, flown in, high quality food! This is true italian food, the best of the best in Tulsa. It is worth every cent and then some!!! We just were here on the 30th of December and my family from California was in love! See you in a few weeks Sergio! My mother-in-law is coming back to visit and she already said she has to go back to eat here!!! Cheers to the best italian restaurant in Oklahoma!

Visiting Tulsa on business, and had a late lunch here. The worst food I've had in recent memory. Salad with asparagus and tomatoes had way, way too much dressing. I had this along with fish soup which was canned diced tomato, water, and chunks of frozen skin-on fish. That skin, cooked in liquid, was flabby and the soup was fishy in a bad way. My husband had chicken Marsala with fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was bland and watery. The bread was the only good thing. We did not meet the owner or hear about the history of the restaurant. I only ate two bites of my soup, and at the end of the meal the waitress cleared the full bowl without asking if there was a problem. Service was bordering on unfriendly. We left hungry, tipped very poorly, and would never consider eating here again.

Not a Tulsa native so can't really compare this to other places... but by any standard I am willing to bet this place holds up pretty well! Ambiance is great - storefront is underwhelming, but once inside it feels like you are walking into a cave. Naturally this comes with pros and cons: the dim lighting is very romantic and helps you focus on the members at the table; more lighting would help patrons find the restroom and reduce the risk of them inadvertently bumping into everything. Ambiance aside, I would definitely consider the food 5 stars-worthy. Our table ordered a pair of appetizers - the figs and the calamari - which were tasty and a great size to split between 4 people. For the entree, I ordered the smoked salmon pasta and was very impressed. The salmon itself was very savory, but it was really the special creamy sauce that stood out the most. It had such a unique taste that still complemented the salmon extremely well. Overall: great food and great service, mixed feelings on the lighting...

I would give their food 4 stars. But, as we all know, dining out is not all about the food. I would only give their service a 2.5 star rating. I will explain. We made reservations for 4 adults and 1 infant and explained we would need a place for the carrier that the baby would be coming in. "No problem," they stated. When we arrived, my husband and I were taken to a table and we explained again that we would need room for our granddaughter's carrier because we were taken to a table for 4 that was very close to other tables surrounding. They brought us a chair to put her carrier in and we were okay with that, although the others in our party had not arrived yet. We were given our drinks and menus while we were waiting, and we listened to the specials that the wait staff were offering to the tables around us. When our son and daughter-in-law arrived with the baby, we were promptly told by the head waiter that we could not be seated in this spot with a baby and we were escorted to a back room that had a large party seated already. This was not a problem for us, except that the service went from excellent to poor as soon as we were taken to the back room. When we all got re-situated in our new location and the waiter came to take our orders, I asked him what the specials were because I had heard several and couldn't remember them all. He stated that they had no specials, only what was on the menu. Our food was good, but we had to wait and make multiple requests for refills, fresh bread, etc. My husband and son both had spaghetti, I had veal marsala, and my daughter-in-law had chicken fettuccine. Again, the food was good. I just felt like we were being penalized for bringing a baby with us, and that is unacceptable for me. I would have a difficult time going back, even if it were just my husband and myself.

Just....ok. We were seated at a table with no lighting. We were given a small flashlight to see our menus. Awkward. Our waiter took our plates before we were done and cleared our basket of bread (which was the best part of the meal) without asking. I wasn't overly impressed with the food at all. I had tortellini, and the portions were quite small (three tortellini). Expensive for the serving. We had dessert (lemon cake and a chocolate cake) and again....just ok. I doubt we would return.

I use Yelp ALL the time to look for places to eat and Villa Ravenna is ALWAYS at the top. Needless to say, I've always wanted to go and see what the fuss was about. However, the $$$ rating always steered me away. Earlier this week, a friend suggested this place for dinner. YOLO? We ate there tonight. I got the Veal Marsala with a side of fettuccine alfredo ($19). I hear they make their own pasta. Unfortunately, our waiter didn't give us the spiel about the restaurant and their cooking. I heard another waiter telling his table about the history of the restaurant and I was slightly jealous. Anyways, food was eh. I didn't like how the marsala sauce got into the fettuccine - especially since they sauce the pasta so lightly. The marsala sauce covered up the alfredo, so I couldn't really taste it. The pasta was good. Alfredo sauce...I couldn't tell you since the marsala covered it up. The veal was eh. I've had better at other places - but then again, I wonder if my taste buds have been corrupted by trashy chain restaurants. Portion sizes were small - to me at least. But really, they probably serve the portion size you SHOULD be eating. They also serve complimentary warm, toasted garlic bread with oil and herbs, which was good. For dessert, I had to get the lemoncello cake ($6.50) since they make the lemoncello in house. It was good. Like some Yelpers have said, the alcohol taste is kind of intense at first, but you get used to it. The presentation was really pretty. Price-wise, I was pleasantly surprised. There are entrees from $13 to $70, so it's affordable. Dress is also pretty casual - not as uppity as I expected. Would I come back? Probably not, but at least I said I've been!

We went because of the reviews we had read and are very glad we did. The food was great, the fresh garlic bread, the calamari and also the fresh pasta carbonara. You can taste the difference when you have fresh homemade pasta dough. The prices are reasonable. The service was good as well. The only issue was that the server was answering the restaurant's cordless phone while serving at the tables, kind of strange for a restaurant with white fabric tablecloth. A recommendation would be to update the outside of the restaurant, since it is not on par with the interior and the food. Looking forward to our next visit!

I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's definitely in my top five dining experiences in Tulsa. This is comfort Italian food (at it's best) served by people I wish were my family. Seriously, they treat me like we might be related. So charming! I haven't been to a wine dinner here, but I hear they're incredible. Can't wait to check one out. Also, you've got to try the house made burrata...so creamy and delicious.

I visit Tulsa every year. I wish I had found this place earlier in my life. The service is very friendly yet professional. The beautiful interior lends itself to a relaxed atmosphere. My dining companion and I both had black squid ink pasta. Mine dressed in there delicious scampi, and the other dressed in a sun dried tomato marinara. Both were shining examples of what good Italian can be when someone loves the food that they are cooking. We also had a caprese salad where all the ingredients tasted fresh and the mozzarella wasn't too salty. And for a digestive I would recommend trying their home made limoncello. A great place that Tulsa is lucky to have.

Best Italian food in Tulsa, hands down. Every time I leave Villa Ravenna, I'm super full/satisfied, a little tipsy and extremely happy. If there's one restaurant in this entire city that you MUST go to, it's Villa Ravenna. The ambiance is nice and cozy - it's in a strip center but once inside it doesn't really reflect that. It's dimly lit, lots of candles, spacious and comfortable. The service is usually on point. Even though it's always busy in the dining room, the service moves at just the right pace. Our servers have been really friendly and make great recommendations. We occasionally have the pleasure of hearing specials and tips from the owner who is the sweetest Italian man ever. He's really excited about his food and rightfully so. The food is what keeps them coming. They have an extensive but not excessive menu with lots of veggie options. Portion sizes are appropriate but it's hard not to over order with so many drool worthy menu options. Everything we've gotten has been really flavorful and just so well made. Some of my favorites are the burrata caprese, the mushroom ravioli appetizer (I don't remember the name but it's SO good and big enough to make an entrée out of) and the eggplant parmesan. I'm not usually a big fan of eggplant parm but I thoroughly enjoyed theirs. The gnocchi is really nice as well. As you can tell by now, I'm a big fan of Villa Ravenna and strongly recommend you try it out for yourself.

I was a little nervous to take out of town guests to Villa Ravenna, since they are of Italian descent, and from NYC where there are so many fabulous restaurants, but Villa Ravenna did not disappoint. We started out with two of the special appetizers for the evening, Buratta, and a fig dish. Both of them were excellent. Our entree orders ran the gamut from Osso Bucco to Gnocchi. Someday I'm going to try their famous Limoncello Martini. Villa Ravenna is really one of the best restaurants in Tulsa, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I must say I think our guests were a little surprised.

I have been coming here for about 5 years now and the place just gets better each time. The attention to detail by the staff, the finishing touches on the plates & the wine selection are just a few of the many reasons to stop in for a great experience.

I don't go here nearly as often as I should. Some of the best food in Tulsa 5 stars for sure. I've never had anything bad everything has always been exceptional. Don't let the strip mall location at the farm throw you off of a great meal. A perfect atmosphere for a special dinner or anniversary and perfect for a first date. She'll be impressed and the cost isn't much more than Olive Garden but the quality is 1000 times better. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for dinner asap you won't regret it.

We have been here a couple of times, there are some fantastic options here and it is a really lovely atmosphere. The homemade limoncello is fantastic!! The first couple of times we were there we sat in the small dining areas, but the last time we were in their new area, which is lacking in much of the charm of the original restaurant. Otherwise, fantastic homemade pasta and attentive service. Great for a special dinner out!

I was so bummed to read Brandon R.'s recent review about being turned away from Villa Ravenna with a young child. I hope it's not true, but I can definitely see that this is not a child-friendly restaurant. The place is clearly designed and decorated to be a cozy, romantic hideaway, and a non well-behaved child would likely not be welcome to some other diners (ourselves included). But hey, if your kid is well-mannered, it shouldn't be a problem. That aside, we recently visited Villa Ravenna for the first time and had a wonderful meal. The complimentary garlic bread was amazing (although I am confused why it comes fully herb-buttered but then is served with a dish of oil for dipping). The pasta tasted super-fresh, and my husband loved his lamb. The owner was quite welcoming and we enjoyed a complimentary glass of the house-made limoncello. Delicious! Prices were a bit higher than we expected going in, but for the quality of food, we were happy to pay it. My only complaint is that our waiter was a bit of a disaster. He made a valiant effort, but he did things like stop in the middle of opening our bottle of wine to go seat other people who walked into the restaurant. He got so distracted that we ended up tasting and pouring the wine ourselves. He also stopped in the middle of telling us specials to go answer the phone. I got the impression that he was unnecessarily taking these extra tasks on himself, and he really needs to learn that he has to finish the task at hand with each table before moving on to something else. Luckily, the food was so good that we just laughed it off. He was probably just new.

I went to Villa Ravenna with my family after hearing about it from co-workers for months. It's hard to make Italian food stand out, but Villa Ravenna makes it happen. From the delicious complimentary warm buttery bread to the last bit of dessert, I enjoyed every last bite. Throughout the meal we were trying to decide what we would order when we came back, because it was a give that we would soon return.

Villa Ravenna is the best Italian in town(by a long shot), but to keep it even handed- I won't go so far as to say it's the best in the State, or Region(but it probably is). This is the greatest place to go for a special occasion. The service, food, ambiance - the whole experience- is inspirational. There's not a wrong choice on the menu. The seafood is great, the Gnocchi is excellent, and the meatballs- outstanding. I'm not the kind of guy who orders spaghetti, ever, but let me tell you; I can't say enough good things about their spaghetti. Pro tip: have them add the Boar Sausage- they will usually recommend it (as they should), and you will be blown away. Generally, Italian places just overload the hell out of everything with butter/oil, and then it's good, because- well, why wouldn't it be? It's drenched with insane amounts of "old world" lubrication. Villa Ravenna, while being very rich and decadent, keeps from getting heavy-handed in this regard, so instead oozing grease, their dishes ooze love and quality. This family business is run with nothing but the utmost pride, using only high quality ingredients. This is the kind of business you can get behind, and feel good spending hard earned dollars for a taste of that true quality. Run, don't walk, and start enjoying perfection today.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! I've been watching this place on Yelp and it always looked fantastic so when my birthday number 60 rolled around, I told my sons and their wives to get a sitter, we were going out - just us 6 adults and old dad was paying. One of my sons and his wife had been there before so they had clued us in on a few of the delicacies to be found there. One thing they raved about was the homemade lemoncello so we were prepared to partake. We were greeted and seated by the owner, Sergio. The evening started with lemoncello martinis and Ravenna Sours. My-o-my that lemon brew packs a punch. As appetizers, we shared Grilled Pear Gorgonzola, Zucchini Gorgonzola, and Grilled Bruschetta. All were excellent and the Pear dish was very unusual and tasty. We followed with salads. For the entrees, choices varied from Salmon, Lobster Ravioli, Lamb Chops, Veal Cacciatore, and Chicken Marsalla. Everyone raved on their selection and the portions were perfectly sized. Their wine selection was good and we shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Dessert brought yummy lemoncello cake, ice creams, chocolate cake and some delicious coffee. Our wait staff was exceptional and unobtrusive. We were never rushed and each course had a nice interlude between it and the next. The quarters are compact, but it was never noisy nor did you feel crowded by your neighboring table. Everything about the evening was perfect. I look forward to our next visit.

I have been there twice and I am not too impressed with the food. I have had better Italian so I won't be going back unless friends would like to go. The bread was good but the dressing was too oily. I had the Alfredo sauce which was just average. I have also has the lasagna it was ok but the sausage was too spicy for me.

Let me start by saying that I love authentic Italian so I was very excited to visit this restaurant! First, the atmosphere is very nice! My husband and I went on a date night and it was great for a quiet, romantic dinner. I would recommend making reservations. I did through Yelp and was glad I had done so. Several people tried to get in as walk-ins but were told there was no availability. For starters we ordered the Zucchini Gorgonzola and I loved it! I am a huge fan of zucchini and Gorgonzola so it was fantastic for me. My husband did not care too much for this appetizer however he finds Gorgonzola to be to harsh of a cheese but he went with because it was my night to chose! What a guy! I ordered the eggplant parm and Tortelloni combination dish it was excellent! My husband however ordered the penne dish with chicken and it was not fire spicy!! The menu explained the penne had a spicy additive so we asked the waiter how spicy it really was. He explained that the sauce was pre-made and they could not leave it out but that is wasn't very spicy at all. Well he was dead wrong! My husband has a pretty high tolerance for spice but this was over the top. Even after adding a side of Alfredo it was hardly tolerable. He only finished half of the dish! I was worried we wouldn't return due to my husband's dish however he promises we will but he'll order something else!! It is definitely a place to try!!

Wow, we were not expecting this place to be the highlight of our Bartlesville-Tulsa road trip. Well, we checked into hotel and I got there early with my girlfriend for Sunday dinner. I had the pasta al nero di sepia which was a seafood dish with black pasta noodles. The noodles were perfect al dente and the seafood was generous with squid, shrimp, mussels, and clams. My girlfriend had the bistecca alla marsala. She loved it and I got to sample it as well. The sauces for both dishes were classic without over doing it with butter/cream. I liked her dish especially since you can actually taste the wine in the sauce. We shared a pear salad. Dishes are between $20 to $30+ so it's more cuisine and fine dining. Well, we are only in Tulsa once so decided to splurge since hotel was free with my Holiday Inn points. Do not miss this place and probably save it for special occasions. Also, this is in a nice shopping plaza called the Farm but it is closed on Sundays except for these few restaurants.

I've already reviewed Villa Ravenna however I feel compelled to update it! As all others have said, there is no place like this in Tulsa and for me it is still hands down the best Italian place and still my favorite Tulsa area restaurant for food and service. From their appetizers (pear gorgonzola, gnocchi) to their entrees (wild boar ossobuco) and to their desert (cannoli, limoncello), every time I have been (well over a dozen now) has been five star in food and service. If there's one place in Tulsa I'd recommend to anyone, it'd be Villa Ravenna

I used to love this place, but I won't be returning again. We recently visited with our young child and were turned away by the owner, telling us that there were no open tables for several hours. As soon as we left, we called back and requested a reservation and were told that they had immediate openings! Of course any restaurant is free to serve the clientele that they wish. If he had said he didn't want a child in the restaurant, that's his prerogative, but he pinned it on availability, not the suitability of the patrons. I won't be visiting an establishment that lies to its customers. Sergio lost my business and my family's business that night. Too bad.

The food here is superb. Five of us here and we all loved our meals! However, as you'll notice, I gave them 2 stars. Why? The service. We had to ask for everything, and even when we did there was no guarantee we would get it. My eldest child, whose birthday we were celebrating, was dying for a cappuccino- so we ordered one. Unfortunately, we never got it, even after we complained to two people, one being the owner. And good luck getting refills on anything. The owner, after we complained, explained that he walked by the table a lot but they were busy or something? And we should come back again, at which point I tuned out and started writing this review. Too bad, no restaurant should ever be too busy to give good service, regardless of how good the food is.

No doubt, Villa Ravenna is the best Italian food in Tulsa, and, IMHO, among the top 10 restaurants in Green Country. Service is classy but not stuffy, the ambience is relaxed and romantic, and the food is exceptional. The standard menu is thorough, plus there's always a couple of specials. I recommend the pear gorgonzola appetizer.

Best restaurant in Tulsa. My husband and I lived in Tulsa briefly for work and came upon Villa Ravenna because of Yelp. This is my go-to restaurant if I'm in Tulsa. First, the service is excellent. The wait staff is not at all stuffy, very friendly, inviting and eager to help. I love the atmosphere, it's quiet but lively. It's got a great vibe. The food is outstanding and never disappoints. Everything I've eaten here has been excellent. They have a great selection with a wide variety of choices to suit any taste. I appreciate that they offer a variety of sparkling waters and quite an excellent wine assortment. The limoncello is the best I've ever had, it's worth the visit just for that. I highly recommend stopping here anytime you're in Tulsa. It's sure to please!

From the outside of the building I thought- oh no! I could not have been more wrong! This place is amazing and authentic and they have great service. Delicious and the specials were amazing. A lovely evening in Tulsa indeed. I had the salmon which came with a portion of pasta. I also ordered the special caprese salad that used a really great cheese in place of the mozzarella. Tiramisu dessert was also great. Sampled the ceaser salad and the house salad and I loved them both- light on the dressing but delicious. Well Done!! what a hidden gem!

Really good food, I had the ravioli stuffed with several different types of meats and cheeses with a cream sauce. For an appetizer we split the colossal prawn, it was almost a foot long! It didn't have a ton of meat but it was really tasty. The highlight of the experience however, was the outstanding service. The waiter explained everything to us and was very attentive. The owner came over as well and introduced himself and told us about the history of the restaurant. Overall highly recommended, I will be back again soon.

Just freakin delicious Italian... You know its gonna be good when the owner greets you and seats you... Then comes back to mention the specials.... Order the Lasagna or Meatballs and Spaghetti.... Really really good and authentic.. This place hits the spot for a feeling of Italy.... Also, make reservations if you can... Wife and I have showed up before just ourselves and been fine, but if you have a party of 4 or more, better get some RSVP's going....

I found Villa Ravenna during a yelp search of Italian Tulsa. With very good reviews, I thought it was worth trying out. I found the menu to have a nice variety, but a bit overpriced. Service was good, and handmade pasta always makes me happy. Limoncello cake was nice, but had a somewhat overpowering alcohol flavor where I would have preferred a less harsh dessert . Having no point of reference to compare Italian restaurants in Tulsa- not sure if I'd return or try another place on my next trip to OK.

I was shocked by the entire experience. From the minute we walked through the door we were greated promplly and seated. Waiter approached us within minutes of being seated. The food was outstanding! A few people in opur party had the Yanni Special which is a medley of seafood over linguine. The seafood was fresh the sauce was perfect. I had Sea bass over risotto -- could not of asked for a better dish. By the way our party consisted of 6 full blooded Italians from New York who are very selective when choosing an Italian restaurant. Try it you will love it!

My husband and I came here for our birthday dinner (we share the same birthday). This was our first time here. The food was wonderful, but my husband had a bad experience, as the wait staff continually bumped into him, but never said an "excuse me" or "I'm sorry". After about the third or fourth time of this happening (the tables were extremely close together), he told me we won't be coming back. I felt really bad, as I planned a special evening, and this ruined it.

Our friends who live in Broken Arrow brought us here for dinner. They really hyped it up and it really did live up to all they said. The restaurant is cozy and full of life, just as an authentic Italian restaurant should be. There is a cute old guy playing the piano in the corner. The service is excellent. We had two very attentive servers. The restaurant is owned by an Italian couple. They make all their sauces and pasta from scratch. We got a brief history from the server since we had never dined there. They were very knowledgable and honest. One dissuaded us from choosing a wine that he knew most did not like. Lastly, the food was amazing! Our calamari was tender and flavorful. The salads were fresh. All of our entrees (lobster ravioli, chicken and veal ravioli, chicken parmesan, and spaghetti and meatballs) were flavorful and delicious! Overall, a great experience. We will be back!

I ate there for my birthday lunch and was disappointed. I made a note that I was Gluten Free on my reservation, so they'd be prepared. The server, Jerald, was definitely not expecting me to ask about GF. I thought they would have a GF menu, but they don't. He just said "Uhhh... there's gluten-free pasta... um... yeah, all the sauces are fine. And the salad dressings." Placed my order and he said "Oh, that's got flour on it. Man, I'm glad I knew that or you would've gotten sick." Jerald also got offended (and was fairly rude) when I asked if my pasta was GF upon arrival, saying "Yeah, I know the difference." The food had absolutely no flavor, unless you count the overwhelming presence of oil. Then, he asked if I wanted a dessert for my birthday, even though they don't have any GF desserts. Such a letdown. I won't be back.

Did an impromptu first visit this Friday. We were worried that we wouldn't get in without a reservation, but were seated immediately. Food was excellent. Portion sizes definitely vary depending on what you get, seemingly the more expensive the smaller the size. However, there is a lot of variety. You could easily get away with paying $25 for two people and still be satisfied. Wanted to try the Gnocchi ($9), but went with the squid ink pasta with all sorts of seafood ($20). Best Italian I've have in Tulsa. Very nice place for a date night or a special dinner with family.

In Tulsa on business. Went to dinner with a coworker. We did not like the (chain) Italian restaurant we had chosen. I got on Yelp and we found Villa Ravenna. Had to call and ask how to find it, it's hidden in a little shopping area I didn't know existed. Really nice area. My friend and I were a little under dressed but Sergio (owner) did not mind, very welcoming. What we found inside was a really nice atmosphere, wonderful italian food and a great wine list. On top of that, a wait staff that went above and beyond. Jesse was great and really helpful, with everything from wine and food selections to other interests in Tulsa. Sergio stopped by our table multiple times, very pleasant and very attentive. This was an unexpected find and a great evening. I can't wait to come back and hopefully bring my wife with me on the next trip. Thank you Villa Ravenna.

This my first restaurant I'm giving a rating for. Best Gnocchi I ever had. Delicious meat sauce. Great price for a lunch special. It's in the strip mall on right heading east.

This place lives up to the other reviews. The staff is helpful and friendly and the food is amazing. Scratch Kitchen so it's cooked to order, I recommend getting an appetizer. The wait on the food is definitely worth it. Good wine selection. When I go to Tulsa, on business, I will always have this place on my list of places to eat.

My "go to" dinner spot when traveling to Tulsa. Always great service and a welcoming proprietor. This past meal, I enjoyed Bistecca Marsala and prosciutto wrapped figs topped with Gorgonzola and I paired it with a nice glass of Sangiovese wine. The cut of meat was very flavorful and tasted like it was prepared over a wood-fire or charcoal grill. The flavor paired nicely with the creamy mushroom sauce. The fig appetizer was a nice mating of savory prosciutto and sweet dried fruit. Side note The restaurant's namesake "Ravenna" refers to the Italian city south of Venice in Bologna. Nicknamed "la grassa", or stomach, Bologna is known as the culinary center of Italy.

Sometimes you find the best food in the most unexpected places. For instance, my favorite burrito comes from a small taqueria in Brookline, MA, my favorite steak can be found in Puerto Rico, and now, my favorite Italian restaurant resides in Tulsa, OK. Stopped here with a date a while back after spending the day in Tulsa. The reviews looked promising, so we gave it a try. Villa Ravenna is tucked away in a small strip mall type area, but was not difficult to find. We got there at 5 PM and the place wasn't very busy yet. I once read an article stating that when choosing a restaurant, women prefer ambiance, while men go for portion size. Guys, trust me on this. If you're looking for a romantic spot for a date, Villa Ravenna is A-list. Yeah, I know, strip mall - but books, covers, judging...etc. The inside is very cozy and romantic and when combined with the impeccable service, you'd have to travel to NY for a similar experience. We both had salads. Nine times out of ten salads aren't worth mentioning. These were, 'nuff said. Warm, crusty Italian bread and oil are also provided. Drinks? My date actually works in a winery, and she was impressed by the wine list. Then came the food. The yardstick by which I measure all Italian restaurants is Veal Parmesan, which I ordered. My date opted for Scampi. This is hands down the best Veal Parmesan I've ever had. All too often you get a sub-par cut of meat hidden beneath a thick blanket of breading but this was perfect. The spices, the sauce, everything. We sampled each others plate and agreed both were delicious. And as I mentioned, service was a cut above in all respects. So if you live in Tulsa, you're lucky to have this place so close. If you live in OKC as I do, Villa Ravenna is definitely worth the trip for a special occasion. Easy 5 Stars.

Very nice place. The staff were super courteous and helpful. Lots of specials. We felt very attended to. We had the bruschetta and boar sausage for the appetizer. Both were good, but the sausage was amazing. Date had the Pollo alla Parmagiana. We're not all that familiar with Italian food so we didn't realize it had a red sauce on it. It was okay. Regardless, it could have used more flavor. I had the Bistecca alla Marsala which was spot-on. Incredible flavor and the meat was so tender. Reasonably priced ($125 which included a bottle of wine) and the electronic keyboardist was a nice touch. Would go again!

We are in Tulsa frequently but never around the time of our wedding anniversary. This year we were. I looked at the ratings and reviews from yelp, trip advisor and several other sites and the one restaurant that consistently popped up in the top five and, more often, either as one or two was the Villa Ravenna. We spend the majority of our time in south Tulsa so I knew exactly where the restaurant was but never gave it a thought. We made reservations and I am glad we did. It had a fabulous menu with everything from very traditional Italian dishes to things on the exotic side. Of course, the prices varied considerably. Less for consistent and traditional pasta dishes and "big city" prices for the more exotic. My wife went for traditional and I chose the 1/2 foot long prawn from south Africa. The meals were wonderful. Comparable to anything I have ever had in either San Francisco (North Beach) or New York (Little Italy). Future visits to Tulsa will certainly include Villa Ravenna.

Every time we visit Tulsa, we make reservations for dinner here! We have never had a bad experience. All the pasta, sauces, and desserts are homemade. Staff is always very attentive and friendly. The salad with strawberries, feta, spinach, and walnuts in a balsamic vinaigrette, is hands down one of my favorite things to eat.... EVER! The atmosphere has low lighting, so if you need your readers, bring them! I would recommend making a reservation. The place isn't very large and on the weekends its nearly always completely booked.

  • Christie F.

So, some of you may have noticed no prices on the menu. I am usually a little reluctant to go to a place like that, so I am here to fill in the gap! You could really splurge here. Like $50 a dinner plate, but my fiancé and I had plates for $13 and $18. Appetizer was one of the high end ones at $10. Wine was a very nice Riesling at $8 a glass. The food and wine were everything you could have hoped for! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the waiter was quite smug. Im guessing this is because we are in our early 20's. Maybe he thought he wouldn't get a good tip. Well, we hope he changes his prejudgment and treats future young people with a more welcoming demeanor.

Villa Ravenna is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in the US. Sergio, the owner is so welcoming and delightful. The food is simply amazing! The atmosphere is romantic and quaint. The service is super... My favorite appetizer is Cappelletti Porcini....delicious! I have been several times and have never been disappointed. They are having a Wine Tasting on March 31st!!!

Excellent food, but the best part is that they make you feel like family - from our waiter to the owner walking between tables to make sure everyone is having a good time - the experience is awesome! I had the carbonara and it was just the right amount of creamy with a healthy portion of bacon (possible??). Not quite as cheesy as I like, but that's really my fault for not asking for a side of cheese and doesn't come with peas, which is how my mother always made it for me so I'm partial to peas. All in all, fabulous carbonara. Apps, soup, dessert, and drinks were all very good, but didn't really stand out in my mind as AMAZING. Overall: I definitely recommend for a nice dinner or lunch - great food and amazing service!

I've only been a couple of times so far, but I just love the atmosphere in this restaurant. The owners and staff are so welcoming and inviting, and it's great that Tulsa has a good, old-school, Italian restaurant because there aren't many options for Italian around here. It'd be a good place to bring out of town guests, and I hope to bring my parents here next time they visit, as it's a great dining experience. Having dined just with my husband on one occasion and then recently with a large group, I think it's better to dine here in smaller parties to enjoy more intimacy. The staff did their best with the large group, and they actually did well timing the service so that entrees arrived at about the same time, though the wait was longer, which is to be expected for a group. You can really taste that everything is homemade. I like the homemade burrata appetizer--a creamy, mild cheese, that comes with yummy pesto, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, and balsamic dressed greens. I've tried both the lobster ravioli and the veal parmigiana. Their sauces are amazing. The portions are not very big, but that's good so that you can try some appetizers or soups, or go all out and try multiple courses, which we may do next time. They have a really eclectic menu with some different meat options (one of our friends tried antelope last night), so it seems like there's always something new to try. They also have options for a variety of prices, so you can decide how much or little to splurge and still get some really good food. I'd really like to try one of their special events with the multi-course tasting and wine pairing. If you haven't been here (not many Tulsans venture out to "the Farm" shopping area), you really should!

Very good Italian food! I made a reservation based on the feedback I found online but was concerned when we arrived because it's in the corner of a strip mall. I can say that not only was I surprised by the interior but also by the quality of food! Don't judge this book by its cover! Third generation restaurant owner immigrated from Italy this place is the real deal.

I was in town the first week in April for business. I love Italian food and always search for a good Resturant . Wow! This place is by far the best I have ever eaten! I actually ate here twice the week I was in town! First night I had Sautéed mussels and Penne Pasta with wild boar sausage that the waiter recommended. Great! The second night I had Yani's special and grilled pear Gorgonzola. Both dishes was awesome ! I love this place and I am planing to come back in May when I am back in Tulsa for business. I am brining my wife for the sole reason to eat here! This is old school Italian with the owner out checking on the tables and his wife as the master chef in the kitchen. It just does not get any better than this!

I was in town for work and found this true gem! The food was incredible and the hospitality of Sergio and his staff was just as on point. Their food is homemade and so fresh. They have an extensive menu and great wine selection. I went with the homemade mushroom ravioli as an app, veal cordon bleu as the main course, and tiramisu for dessert. It was easily in the top 10 meals of my travels so far. Sergio even went as far to bring me a better wine to match the veal. Don't forget to try their lemoncello (also homemade and takes 6 months to make). The only head up is finding the location. It's tucked away in the side of a strip mall and my gps had trouble picking it up exactly. Don't let it stop or fool you though...it's worth the visit over all the other options in the area.

We just wanted pasta and picked this place at random. What luck! Tucked away on East 51st and Sheridan it was perfect. Arrived after the lunch rush the service was impeccable. The menu states everything is made fresh so order appetizer or salad either will keep you busy till the entree is prepared. Prepared to perfection! Excellent presentation and the real taste of Italy! Highly recommend!

Great service. Delicious homemade sauces and pasta. The owner takes great pride in his restaurant and the quality of the food. I had the whiskey cream shrimp as an appetizer. Not horrible, but I wouldn't get it again. Flavorless and overcooked shrimp. Sauce was ok, but went much better with the bread. Black fettuccine was good. Homemade pasta has great texture. The red sauce was delicious. The seafood was pretty good for land locked Oklahoma.

Let me first say that this is a phenominal restuarant and is fully deserving of every single good thing said about it. I've spent hours here with loved ones and family and have created phenomenal memories over some of the best Italian in these precious United States. - Driving up: it's tucked behind Mazzio's and the gas station on the corner in the old market strip mall...kind of out of the way and you could walk by it without seeing it. My first time I was almost put off by the outside, but I trusted the Yelp reviews and kept chugging on. - The Lobby: Also initially confusing, because you have to walk 20 ft or so up a small hallway before you get to the "Please wait to be seated sign". All that aside (because truly it's only confusing the first time...and you WILL be back) let's get on to the good stuff. - The Service: From the moment that you are swept off your feet, so to speak, at host stand to the moment you are paying for your check you are expertly taken care of by one of the best wait staff I've ever had the pleasure to interact with. Sergio, the FOH Manager and Owner, greets you with an amazing Italian accent and a huge smile - genuinely pleased that you came to his restaurant. The wait staff are prompt to fill every whim and demand you might have - including but not limited to the classic "So what do YOU like on the menu?" question, making you custom dishes from the kitchen. -The Food: I truly can't speak highly enough of the creative combinations of ingredients, things that you almost cringe at initially turn out to be a phenomenal infusion of flavor permeating your mouth. If it sounds strange, it's probably one of the best things on the menu. Try it. (if you don't like it for some alien reason, they are quick to replace your dish with something else at no additional charge) -The Drinks: They have a large array of different wines and alcohols, my personal favorite is their in-house Lemon Cello. (i'm not sure if I spelled that right) It's a truly delicious drink - even my wife likes it. Finally, let me recap by saying that I would recommend this place to anyone, if I could afford to come here more often it would be a regular spot. As of right now it is our go to spot for birthdays, anniversaries and any other excsue we can make to drop $100-200 in one sitting. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. ---------My old review of the place.... 5/17/2014 I have gone on several times and usually use Villa Ravenna as a "special spot" for out of towners and birthdays. it IS expensive, unless you want to get some simple ravioli. I have been dissatisfied 2 times I've been there, but it wasn't the restaurants fault, I simply didn't like the dish (stupid Americanized taste buds couldn't handle the authentic Italian). The food is excessively authentic, so if you don't know much about Italian food, it would do you good to read up a bit first so you aren't caught off guard. this is NOT olive garden - which isn't even close to real Italian food. after visiting Italy, this has been the closest I can find to REAL Italian food. I will always be back and would recommend it to anyone. the servers are very knowledgeable and I ALWAYS ask for recommendations. I asked "I want something with Alfredo, what would you suggest?" and he built me an off-the-menu dish that was AWESOME. Anyways, these guys are great, the history and the authenticity is amazing. let me stress it again, this is not american fare in ANY aspect. it is very very good foreign food.

I have not had Italian like this except for when I was in Italy. Must try at least once in your life. Wonderful experience

By far the best Italian food (if not any type of food) I have had in a while. This place was awesome. We ordered the stuffed fig appetizer and it was amazing. They are stuffed with gorgonzola and bacon. oh my. yum! I ordered the black fettucine with seafood (calamari, shrimp, clams, scallops - $20). Everything about this place is so authentic. The tiramisu, salad, and soup we had were also great! I am a tiramisu junkie and this one was right up there with the best I have had. I agree with another reviewer that Villa R. provides a very wide selction and price range. You can get the gnocci bolognese for $10 or the surf and turf for $70. You can enjoy it on any budget. The other highlight of this restaurant is the service. Probably the best I have had in a while. Do yourself a favor and go try this place. I will be back on my next trip to Tulsa.

My date and I decided to try Villa Ravenna last night and we were not disappointed. I suggest you get a reservation because they were turning away walk ins last night. The staff is absolutely wonderful. We started with red wine. I got the tortelloni which was yummy. He got the veal marsala which is also really enjoyed. We ended with the chocolate cake. The service was just fantastic!! The only reason it gets four stars is price. It will just be a treat every once in awhile to eat there!

Surgio, can you please send your wife to the Woodlands location to come and cook for the weekend!??! All of our group the use to eat here weekly in Tulsa is now in Houston. Please come and visit your brothers restaurant in Texas. Villa Ravenna is HANDS DOWN THE BEST italian food I have EVER had. Our friends just moved back to Tulsa and we are ready to plan and trip just to eat at Villa one night. Sergio, the food, wine, atmosphere is PHENOMENAL. This place deserves 10 shining stars.

An excellent experience. The Bruchetta was expertly prepared, texture was perfect. My wife loved it, it was overly sweet for me but that is only a matter of personal taste. The salads were also very well prepared. I had the Carbonerra same thing again, perfect preparation, texturally excellent, the apple wood bacon again made the dish a bit too sweet for me. My wife and I ate an early lunch and the dining room was empty. The server was overly attentive and there was service preparation things still being done. Absolutely worth the visit, I plan to return when the restaurant is busier to experience what I am sure will be wonderful.

Exquisite dining experience. I had an incredible veal ravioli and an excellent pinot noir. I thoroughly enjoyed the dimly lit peaceful atmosphere and the ultra kind staff. I even met the owner, who was very personable and helpful. He was also born in Italy which is often a great indicator that I will be served authentic Italian food. Villa Ravenna is definitely the kind of place you want to have all of your important dinning occasions to occur.

A gem in Tulsa, for sure. If you love Italian food, this is a must-try. My mom and I like to try new places for dinner, so when I was in town recently, I turned to Yelp to find a new Italian spot. I am so glad to have found Villa Ravenna because it was a fantastic experience. The place was a little tough to find just based on the address, so you need to know it's in The Farm shopping center. It's cute from the outside and cozy on the inside. The only problem came when we entered. They didn't seem to have any kind of area to greet guests, so we stood around awkwardly trying to figure out what to do about getting a table. The owner came out a minute or two later and was quick to help us to a table. He was very kind about it and offered us a space away from the noise of a large party that was there. That earned big points with my mom, who much prefers quiet places. The service here is great, but you should know this is a restaurant you linger at, not rush at. Our server was courteous and knowledgeable; he was very helpful with recommendations when I found myself caught between dishes and gave me excellent detail that aided me in making my choice. The owner came over several times throughout the night to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal, which I really appreciated. It's nice to see an active owner who cares so much about his patrons. The menu is huge, and there are tons of delicious options. We started off with a special fig appetizer, and it was divine. Perfect size, bold flavor--we loved it. My mom really enjoyed her tilapia, and I was in heaven chowing down on my ravioli alla panna. When the server told me there would be five ravioli pieces, I was concerned it wouldn't be enough to fill me up. But it was. The pieces of ravioli were the perfect size and incredibly filling. Each piece had a different flavor to it because of the varied meats inside. Each bite was a delicious surprise. Highly recommended. And the bread they give you? OMG. So freaking good. Some of the best bread I've ever had at an Italian restaurant. The desserts were great too. They have an excellent wine selection, and my server's suggestion for my glass was perfect. All in all, dining at Villa Ravenna was a splendid experience. I am so happy to have found a place like this in Tulsa and can't wait to go again the next time I'm in town. It will definitely be first on my list of places to dine at! I highly recommend it.

I frequent Tulsa for business and thought I new most all the good Italian places to eat but stumbled across Villa Ravenna. I hesitated to drive to the Farm Shopping Center to check it out, expecting a typical Italian restaurant interior with posters of Rome on the wall but was impressed with the ambiance and cozy atmosphere. I ordered the Caesar salad and aragosta with Spaghetti. Both were delicious, however I thought the lobster was a bit overcooked. The tiramisu was out of this world. I was impressed overall and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth the effort to find them tucked away in this shopping center.

This is the most authentic Italian I have had in Tulsa! The owner is super sweet and usually goes around and greets all the guests. A little pricey, but great for a date night or special occasion.

In Tulsa this weekend and decided let's have Italian. Decided on this restaurant based on the reviews and location. Atmosphere is cozy, and inviting. It is a perfect place for a quite dinner with friends! The owner greeted us at the door. We did not have reservations, yet he was able to seat us immediately. The wait staff was courteous and prompt! Selections were typical Italian flare, numerous options for chicken, seafood, pasta, etc. Wine list was extensive, and varied. We had a few glasses of house wines, and appetizers to start. Salads were crisp, and fresh. The main dishes were served hot and the portions were a good size too. We ended our dining experience with Creme Brulee, which was very good. If we lived in Tulsa, we definitely return again!!!

My husband and I are always looking for another excellent restaurant to add to our list of favorites. We wanted Italian this weekend and after searching google for a few minutes, I came across Villa Ravenna. Their menu looked absolutely delicious. I read several reviews on various websites and decided it would be a good choice. Good doesn't even begin to describe it! The service was outstanding. The food was authentic Italian, and so many menu selections I can hardly wait to go back and try more of what they offer. The pasta is definitely homemade - tender, and delicious. The sauce on my ravioli was out of this world. My husband's steak was perfectly cooked, and topped with a perfect marsala sauce. We shared a tiramisu for dessert and I highly recommend it! If I had any complaints it would certainly not be anything against the restaurant itself, but people who feel the need to bring toddlers and infants to a very romantic, beautiful setting such as Villa Ravenna. Just don't, okay? Save this place for the adults!

Nothing special. I had tortellini with white sauce which tasted worse than the Olive Garden. The food is bland and there are too many decent Italian places in Tulsa to waste time eating here, Ciao on Brookside being one of them.

Business colleague and I in from various cities around the US. Long day, non existent lunch. Found Villa Ravenna on urbanspoon.com and double-checked here. Didn't make a reservation, walked in, immediately seated (last table), couple of big parties 12+ there. Service was superb, owner welcomed us and checked in with us a couple of times. My colleague and I both ordered the special, Chilean Sea Bass with linguine. It came out with the other version, risotto. Our waiter stopped the expediter and he picked up all three plates (other colleague's was fine), corrected plates along with our colleague's, were delivered very quickly. The fact that they picked up the plate that was correct so he wouldn't have to eat before us and to keep it warm was an indication of the level of service here. All of us were very impressed. Couldn't imagine finding a restaurant of this caliber in Tulsa. I am here frequently on business and it will be my standard dinner spot. Awesome for clients as well.

It's my 18th Anniversary today. My wife and I have been so busy we only said we wanted to go out for a nice dinner someplace without specifying where... She told me late in the afternoon she had made a reservation at Villa Ravenna - based on a reference from a co-worker of hers who said it was a new place in town. Once we sat down we immediately liked it. The waiter made us feel as though we were his only customers. By the end of the meal we told him he ranked up there with our favorite waiter in Tulsa who has served us for over 15 years at various restaurants. He was awesome! I had soup for my appetizer and my wife had salad. The soup was perhaps the best I've ever eaten. My wife also loved her salad, but hey, it's just a salad... Still, she loved it. She had pasta with pesto sauce and grilled shrimp, which I sampled. It was awesome, but I have to say I win on this one. I got the WILD BOAR and rice! I've NEVER had wild boar before, but the waiter said they cook it for 6 hours and - well, whatever. I could go on, but they cook it for 6 hours! It was like buttah! I'm not a mushroom eater by nature so I had to overlook the mushrooms and pick them out, as well as the bones in the wild boar, but it was awesome! It was almost a stew it was so tender! Go there. Eat stuff. Love it!

Homemade pasta, homemade lemoncello what else does one need?! This place is the real deal. We have tried many dishes here and never have been disappointed. From the fettuccine alfredo with the best chicken ever, the gorgonzola pears, the burrata cheese (when in season), the prosciutto wrapped figs, lasagna and all deserts you cannot go wrong. Sergio(owner) is so friendly he makes you feel at home.

In Tulsa non-the-less! Incredible homemade Italian out of this world!. Service was insanely good - they actually care!!! Salad, lobster ravioli and desert were more than excellent. What a great find.. and thanks to opentable! So few restaurants are on opentable - and it's how i find places to experience.. I WILL BE BACK.. BEST IN TULSA!

Excellent meal. I have fettuccine alla bolognese. The fettuccine was homemade and delicious. The house salad - excellent. Apparently the owner who is on the floor is from northern Italy and watches his restaurant like a hawk. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The rack of lamb and veal were delicious. Service was great. We had a few of the specials, but we were not clear on the prices. We severely underestimated how much one of the specials (risotto) costed because we ordered it as a "side." However, the price of the risotto was similar to a high-end entree. So our only caution is to ask about prices when you're not sure. The menu had many reasonably priced dishes, so when we return, we'll most likely try those. We were celebrating our first anniversary, so we were not overly price conscious.

My favorite Tulsa Italian restaurant. Nice, family-owned atmosphere. Live entertainment on weekends quiet enough that you can still talk. Reasonably priced and GREAT food. Ask for Nathen, a very attentive waiter.

After a long day of traveling, we decided to stop in Tulsa for dinner and read the good reviews for Villa Ravenna. When we initially pulled up to the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the somewhat hole in the wall appearance. However, for foodies like us, that meant we were in for a special treat! We were immediately seated in a pleasant and cozy room surrounded by various wall decor and wine bottles. The wait staff were extremely attentive and offered many great suggestions for each course of the meal. We started with the boar sausage appetizer and yes... they were as amazing as all the reviews had previously stated! Since I'm currently limiting my gluten intake, I ordered the eggplant lasagna and my fiance ordered the ravioli filled with proscuitto and fontina cheese, and my friend ordered the veal cacciatore. My fiance and friend raved about their DELICIOUS meals and the delightful taste of homemade pasta. This restaurant prides itself in being Italian owned and operated and this is evident in their homemade pastas, desserts, and dressings! We ended our meal with their to-die-for tiramisu which is made in-house everyday, and whiskey bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Again, HOMEMADE desserts... AMAZING. The only negative thing I have to say was that my eggplant was slightly overcooked but had a mushy consistency. However, the taste was spot on and I appreciated being able to enjoy a non-pasta meal. Between the excellent service and amazing... and I mean amazing food, I was really impressed!

Have to say this is one of the best italian meals I have ever had! Started with the recommended appetizer that is the house speciality, shrimp with a whisky cream sauce. Nice tomatoes with big shrimp covered in the tasty whiskey sauce. I had the steak with mushroom sauce and fettucini, great steak and the mushrooms were incredible (not a huge mushroom fan, but these were incredible). The other meal was a seabass with risotto and it was incredibly rich with seafood. These were both specials. Topping it off with the rum italian cream cake was perfect. Highly recommend this place and Tulsa is lucky to have such a place.

After working in Tulsa for a few months, and basically giving up on amazing food that wasn't fried or barbecued, I stumbled across Villa Ravenna. Two words: Super Delicious. I have had Italian food in some of the best food cities in the world and this little Tulsa gem, located in a strip mall, rivals them all. I had Chilean Sea Bass that was so fresh I would have thought I was in Chile. And cooked so amazingly well that I forgot I was in Tulsa and not NYC or San Francisco. The side of linguine, a house special tossed with olive oil, fresh garlic and spinach was fantastic. As was the pear, arugula and candied walnut salad. The wine selection was also quite impressive for a tiny restaurant. The service matched the food and our waiter was very good. He rattled off an impressively long list of specials without skipping a beat. And talked me (a die-hard, red only, wine drinker) into a glass of extra-dry white that really did pair better with the fish. I will be recommending this place to co-workers and locals. Please note, the reduction of the fifth star was only due to the very high price of the entree. 37$ for sea bass would be high anywhere, let alone an OK hole in the wall (albeit VERY a good one). The other entree prices were very reasonable.

This was the first time that I had been to Villa Ravenna, and I have to say that it was not a let down. It's hard to find a great italian place in Tulsa, and this by far was top notch. The server, Jesse, was wonderful and answered any questions that I had. He even started out to explain about the history of the restaurant and how it is owned and operated by Italians, Sergio and Yani. He made wonderful recommendations and made the evening that much more pleasant. Sergio stopped by the table to check on us at every course. He obviously takes pride in his restaurant, as he should. Yani was in the kitchen tonight, and she did a wonderful job. Everything I ate was outstanding. I enjoyed ravioli, with a sauce that could knock your socks off. My boyfriend had the Chicken Parmesan, and couldn't get over how wonderful it tasted. We also had clams as an appetizer... Jesse brought us extra bread, but if your server does not... make sure to ask for some, because the sauce is out of this world. We finished off dinner with tiramisu. Beautiful presentation, and the taste that just melts your mouth. We will most certainly be coming back to Villa. It is our new favorite Italian spot. Thank you everyone at Villa Ravenna for making this tucked away Italian restaurant the best in town!

I saw all the hype and was excited to try this place out. The boar sausage was as advertised. I thought the pasta sauce was very disappointing but desserts were great. Good atmosphere but this place is not what it is built up to be.

I want to thank those who reviewed this restaurant earlier because I never would have found it otherwise. I'd take issue with the reviewer who said it was the best Italian restaurant in Tulsa. I think they need to widen their viewpoint. This may be the best Italian restaurant I've been to west of New York or Boston .... and maybe Tuscany, (okay it may be the wine talking). I deliberately went as low cost as I could and everything was perfect. Dining by myself I had the house red, as good a Montepuciano 'de Abruzzi as I've had, with the house salad and the Veal Picatta. Well, the bread with olive oil that came with dinner was exceptional, and the home-made Italian dressing on the house salad, very tasty . The Veal Picatta was off the chart. Sorry I didn't have room for desert but maybe it was all the bread I couldn't stop eating. Again, thanks to all who contributed and glad to add my kudos. I can't wait to come back to Tulsa!

After hearing good things about Villa Ravenna and reading the outstanding reviews, we went last night with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, none of them were met. First, to address the "ambiance"......it was a hole in the wall with a pianist shoved into a corner by the front door and very poor acoustics which made it difficult to carry on a conversation with the person sitting across from you so that everyone in the restaurant was yelling. The owner walked around all night with his seemingly new iPad doing God knows what - just walking around with it lit up and not engaging a single customer. Service was of the worst we have ever experienced, much less at what is supposed to be a higher end restaurant. The server was atrocious. Seemed to not care at all about having us, and certainly was not concerned about our satisfaction or experience. I drink wine but my husband does not, so I was looking for a nice wine by the glass, which is apparently a major faux pas here. We were treated as if we could not afford the $21/glass offering. Speaking of which, the by the glass menu is incredibly sparse. We asked his advice on an appetizer and got a "meh, they're all good - no opinion". Same for the salad and entree. We weren't shocked to get the same ambivalence regarding dessert. The food was mediocre AT BEST. Bruschetta was fine, if you like soggy bread. Salads (caesar and avocado) were okay, nothing special. Nothing a trip from Reasors couldn't handle - take a bag of mixed greens, open a can of black olives and hearts of palm (which was a $3 add on!!) and call it good. Spaghetti and meatballs and pollo piccata had the same problem - the pasta had been so poorly strained that the sauces for both dishes were watered down and beyond diluted. If given a blind taste test, I would have bet my 401(k) that the spaghetti and meatballs was Chef Boyardee that my toddler so dearly loves. The piccata was overwhelmingly wine tasting and the chicken tasted boiled. Now, I realize we did not go out on a ledge with our meal selection, but were hoping that these classics would be a slam dunk. All in all, glad we tried it because of all the good things we heard about it, but what a letdown. Go to Mondo's - at least they care about their customers and have good, consistent food.

Tulsa, OK is not the place you expect for amazing Italian food. But there is a little place in a kitschy shopping center (The Farm) that is amazing. Fresh pasta made everyday is the only way to do it, and that is the key to Villa Ravenna's great food. There is an unbelievable difference in the fresh and not so fresh. I can't find the menu online, but there is a ravioli dish that has bechamel covered pasta with a stripe of pesto and marinara so it resembles the Italian flag. The bechamel sauce is so amazingly good, parts creamy, a tad nutty, and the pesto and marinara help throw in some different flavors. Try to make it here when I go back to visit my wife's family.

Where do I begin? My girlfriend and I were in town for the NCAA tournament to root on our Kansas Jayhawks back in the end of March 2011. We were also celebrating our 1 year anniversary. So for a special dinner, I started search on Yelp for an Italian place with great reviews and I stumbled upon this place. WOW! We were greeted immediately when walking in, and we loved the atmosphere. We sat near the water fountain and they also had someone playing live music on the keyboard. The server told us of some wine dinner specials. So we ordered one of the Rioja wine specials. This is by far my favorite bottle of wine we have ever had! She started with a lobster bisque type dish. I appologize for not knowing exactly what she ordered, but she was able to eat it with a fork, because it was so thick and filled with lobster. I had a strawberry and spinach salad with feta cheese and a balsalmic vinegar dressing. They were both great! Next was the order of bruchetta. The bread was soft fresh bread. The tomatos were flavorful and just delicious. While eating the bruchetta the prociutto bacon wrapped scallops came out. WOW!!! These were cooked absolutely perfect! We haven't even had our main course and we were loving everything about this place. My girlfriend ordered the lobster gnocchi in a pesto sauce. You can definitely tell the pasta is made fresh and that day! It was unbelieveable! I ordered one of the specials, wild boar osso bucco with a mushroom risotto. again WOW!!!! The risotto was was cooked perfectly. I've had some great risotto and this was by far the best I've ever had! The wild boar osso bucco was so terrific and delicious! I was completely surprised this place was located in the corner of the strip mall. What a hidden gem! I can not say enough about this place. I wish they were located here in Kansas City where I'm from. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, and the food was beyond great! I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone one. We even chatted with the owner afterwards and he was as charming as our whole evening there. I'm Italian myself and love eating Italian food from either a restaraunt or even my own mothers kitchen, and I have to say, this is BY FAR, the BEST MEAL I have ever had!!! Thank you so much.

I travel all over the country and must say this is the best Italian food I have ever eaten. I had the Bistecca alla Marsalla with Fettuccine. The steak melted my mouth and the flavor of the Fettuccine was unbelievable, creamy and not greasy. We had a cheese & beef ravioli type appetizer, sorry I forgot the name, that was so good I could have made a meal of it. Rich flavor but very well balance. This is a family run restaurant. Papa is on the floor constantly looking out for the customers and mama is in the kitchen with the northen Italy family recipes. If there is only one restaurant in Tulsa you every eat at, this is the one.

Note: this is a duplicate review as this restaurant is listed twice under different addresses. Now for the review... I was in Tulsa for business and sort of stumbled across this place. Very suprised. The only negative I can say is, when I first walked in there was no greeter and and it took about 5 minutes for any of the waiters to even acknowledge me and it wasn't that busy. However, once I was seated, wow. The food ad service was fabulous. Simply amazing. I'd put it as one of the top 5 itialian restaurants I have been to, and I love italian. Wide variety of specialty items on the menu. This is not a basic italian restaurant. It was a bit on the expensive side and I am not sure if I was the one paying that I would be able to afford it more than just once or twice a year. But it was a company trip. My bill after tip was $72. I had an appetizer and mixed drink to start, then had two house glasses of wine with my main course. No dessert.

The best Italian food in Tulsa, or anywhere. I could swim in the Marsala sauce. Jesse is our favorite server, he always takes care of you. Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny. We go there for special occasions and also in between if we can't wait for the next birthday or anniversary to roll around.

I love this place! They are always super friendly, and once you've gone there a few times the owner remembers you. I love that kind of service. The food is amazing. The garlic bread is awesome. I recommend the tortelloni or eggplant lasagna!

I am a devout mid-towner... it takes a lot to get me south of I-44, but I'll head out there any day of the week for Villa Ravenna. This is the place I choose for out-of-town guests and nice birthday dinners. I have a better experience here on a consistent basis, including quality of food and service, than at many of the mid-town standbys such as Stonehorse or Brasserie. I'd give it six stars if I could!! I found out about this place from the kind folks at Greenwood Farms, a family-run farming operation about an hour outside of town. They supply the eggs, which explains why the pasta here is some of the very best I've ever had. It's incredibly flavorful, and a perfect consistency. The pasta barely scratches the surface of what this place offers. First off, if you want to go have a nice evening out, and spend $25 per person for pasta, splitting an appetizer, and a glass of wine, you can! The pasta entrees are around $12 each. If you want to splurge, this is also a great place -- they offer surf and turf, a variety of lamb, veal, and seafood dishes, and have a truly nice wine list. It's a menu for every budget. Finally, the service is impecable. You are greeted by a very knowledgable server who will entice you with special cocktail options. Make sure you ask about the off-menu specials! Last time we went, our whole appetizer plan was thrown into flux by the amazing off-menu offerrings. I cannot say enough about one of the consistently best restaurants in Tulsa.

If you find yourself in Tulsa and are craving pasta, as my associate and I were, this is the spot. They have some impressive wines and really tempting mains (though those were out of our price range). But we came for the pasta. All the noodles and sauces are homemade. Super authentic and really affordable. We also lucked out and had the special wild boar sausage appetizer (which I would have eaten another round of).

WOW. We ate here last night after looking up an Italian restaurant in Tulsa for our 1st wedding anniversary and I cannot stop talking about it. We made a reservation since it was saturday night but when we got there there were a couple of empty tables for walk-ins. The interior is on the small size and very intimate and romantic, but it could also be good for groups as we saw a birthday group enjoying themselves there. Our server (I believe his name was Justin) was delightful and knowledgable about all the menu items and was also very attentive. We started with a pear/candied pecan lightly dressed salad and the lobster/shrimp cream soup (they had better names than this but that's basically the jist). The salad was light but perfect and the soup was very rich but we probably could have eaten a whole bowl instead of a cup (highly recommended!!!!!) For the entree, I couldn't decide on what to get and asked for a recommendation and he said the waiter's favorite menu item is the chicken parm, so I decided to get that and it was delicious and came with homemade linguini sauteed with garlic and spinach (so good). My husband loves gnocchi and our waiter suggested to order it "Italiano" style (in alfredo sauce with lines of pesto and marinara) with shrimp. This dish was the highlight of the night! This was the best gnocchi we have ever tasted and this is coming from a couple who just toured Italy for 2 weeks eating through every city we visited. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was on the small side but we were stuffed so it was actually the perfect size. No wine just because we didn't feel like it but the wine list was extensive and looked exciting. This restaurant is the real Italian deal down to having to ask for the check instead of the waiters just giving it to you, and (one of my only complaints) it was a little warm inside, but it's even hotter in real Italy during the summer so I guess they really do go for the whole experience. One of the complaints I noticed on here was that it was expensive, which it sort of was, but it was worth every penny. I can't wait to go back and try things that are a little more adventurous which I'm sure are also wonderful. This is a true 5 star place!

With my husband and baby in toe we experienced a little slice of Sicily. We are always up for a new experience and love fine dining. This place is one of our favorites ever! Romanitc...yes even with a baby. Can't wait to go back with just the hubby. The food was amazing especially the freshly made pasta. It left our taste buds wonderfully perplexed. Don't ask what's in the recipe "It's a secret family recipe"! The service was impecable as per the other reviews. We met and talked with the owner several times through out our dinner, you really can feel his love for food, friends, and family. We will be taking part in their special 10 course dinners w/ drink (offered on different nights through our Nov. and Dec.) for my birthday! Cant wait. My favorites were their bellini (refreshing spritzer drink), garlic olive oil pasta, and HOMEmade tiramsu. We spent $120 total with lotsof extras...I know I hear the WOW's. Again It's well worth it. I walked in with a hugh smile left relaxed and delightfully full. Make reservation just in case.

Tacky music played too loud on keyboard attached to an amp. Decor is terrible. Way way way too many tables - probably double the recommended. Diners and the table next to ours actually had to stand up for us to slide in and sit down. Service was atrocious. Waited over 5 minutes just for initial contact. Took nearly 15 minutes for water and wine to arrive. Had the flag him down just to have our order taken. The "Black Pasta" was utterly bland with the added insult of terribly rubbery calamari. Who the hell is reviewing this place. I would not take ANYONE there. Ever. Even if I had a bad dish, the tacky music, decibel level, and most of all, the unacceptable overcrowding makes this place one of the worst I've visited in Tulsa or anywhere for that matter.

I was pretty impressed by this Italian restaurant. I thought they were way over priced for what they are offering. However the food was good, the service was very pleasant, & I left happy.

We have been here twice and each time was excellent. Great food and impeccable service. Everything is home made... pasta and sauces. It does not get better than this.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
