This IS the real thing! None of the "atmosphere" that seems to be the main decore for a Q spot, but THE hole in the wallplace that only REAL Q comes from! Lots of history and the flavor tha to nly a true pitmaster can acomplish, Super tender brisket that you can toungue just like mashed potatoes and and ribs to make you cry when you have to leave. It takes a huge amount of stamina to be able to eat the buttermilk pie, but it is something you just have to charge through and do! Forget about work after eating here, you won't do anybody any good when you leave here, unless you have time to squeeze in a nap before returning to work.

Some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. Stopped for lunch with a coworker, we both order a 2 meat combo. Brisket was terribly fatty and way over cooked. My friend sent his back and the replacement wasn't much better. I got hot links that were kinda dry. The sides we ok, nothing to write home about. I love the atmosphere and the fact it's not much more than a shack on the side of the road with BBQ. Doesn't do much for me if the food is subpar. All in all there is much better BBQ in Tulsa...

First time in the state of Oklahoma and as usual had to try something usual. Stumbled across Stutts House of BBQ run by the lovely Miss Stutts for about 22 years. This place is literally a small little house, barebones BBQ spot. I was greeted by Miss Stutts and one of her employees, Chiquita. After a few minutes, I settled on a 3- meat dinner combo (hot links, brisket, and ribs) and a buttermilk pie, which I kept hearing about. All this food was complimented by a homemade sweet tea, which they left me a carafe of on the table in addition toy glass. Hot links were excellent, brisket had great flavor, although I've had juicier, and even though I prefer ribs that barely stick to the bone, I loved the flavor these ribs produced. The plate comes with two sides and since I'm a carb whore, I opted for 2X potato salad, which was perfect. 1 slice of white bread sat atop each meat type. Finally...dessert. The buttermilk pie wasn't a full slice. It was its own mini-pie baked in a mini tin. It's about the size of my palm and it was chock full of deliciousness. My food came with top notch service and great conversation. The only thing I was sad about was that I was full after only spending 11 bucks or so. I will definitely return if I ever go through Tulsa again!

We ordered lunch from Stutts during a recent business trip to Tulsa based on a recommendation from a local. The place is tiny but with lots of character - Mrs. Stutts, the owner waited on us and even though it took awhile to get our order together (a combination of ribs, brisket and chicken sandwiches with a variety of sides) - and they forgot one of the sandwiches - the food was good and very reasonably priced.

This is not just a BBQ restaurant, it's literally a house of BBQ. Miss Stutts invited me in herself, she is the sweetest woman and her staff is very kind. The lunch special was so proportionate, it's all about the Q here. Don't leave without trying the buttermilk pie.

Amazing BBQ! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way from St. Louis to Oklahoma City (the restaurant's location was very easily accessible from our route) and dined in. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Stutts herself and were made to feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is homey and informal - I felt as though we dropped by for a quick meal at someone's house. We ordered the beef dinner and St. Louis rib dinner. Both came with 2 sides (I highly recommend the baked beans!), pickle, onion, and 2 white bread slices. The beef was extremely tender brisket, perfectly seasoned and prepared. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone meaty and delicious. Since the dining room is small, I wouldn't recommend coming with a large group. If I lived in Tulsa, I would probably get take-out from here all the time!

I came to Tulsa for business and I usually dine in at oklahoma joes however it was closed. So I went to stutts and it was good. Not as good as oklahoma joes but the second best option. The butter pie is good as well.

So I didn't get a chance to have any of the BBQ, HOWEVER their buttermilk pie...is so good, it will make you want to slap somebody!!! OMG!! I am ready to call and ask them to ship me a few! It was amazing! If the food is like the pie....you have to go! I loved the staff, just friendly and hospitable....definitely will be somewhere I go the next time I am here...the pie is still calling me!

Awesome bbq, great friendly staff. I took a star off because my ribs did not fall off the bone, like I love. But the potato salad, beans, and brisket are really great. The true star is the buttermilk pie, I have never in my life had a pie this good aside from my mothers kitchen. I would give them 5 stars alone based on the pie

Truly a mom and pop joint. Friendly service. Ordered the ribs and brisket beans and cole slaw. Beans a little plain. Beef had good flavor but was chopped and a little fatty. Not a lot of bark. Ribs were done well. I prefer heavier smoke and more bark. 4 stars for the great service and wonderful atmosphere. Ms Stutts is great

This is a bare knuckle old school BBQ place, and it's borderline soul food. I'm obligated to point out the service at Stutts, because it was perfect, and THAT is amazingly rare. The staff treated me like family, went over the top when I told them I was an "outta towner", and they even helped me switch my order around so I got more bang for my buck. Now for the food. I had the rib tips, coleslaw, baked beans, and a piece of the buttermilk pie (of course!). The rib tips were smokey, perfectly cooked, and were not overpowered with seasoning or sauce. The coleslaw was great, but it had a hint of pineapple which was a little different. The baked beans were smokey as well, and they had just the right amount of sweetness. Finally, I am getting to my favorite piece of this BBQ/Soul food masterpiece of a meal, the buttermilk pie. Wow, I could have eaten two of them. It's actually not a slice of pie, but it's a tiny little pie with its own little tin. Bottom line, if you are looking for a chain BBQ place with no soul, do not go to Stutts, but if you are looking for real BBQ and a huge helping of down home service and soul, get to Stutts ASAP!

The lunch combos are quite a deal. Drink, 2 meats, 2 sides, and buttermilk pie, all for $8.95 WITH TAX! Ordered ribs & chicken. Not a fan of the quarter chicken piece; ribs were decently flavored; however I prefer the ribs cut at OK Joe's and others where more of the meat is atop the rib: they were more chewey than I'd like. Beans had a nice smokey flavor, as did both varieties of BBQ sauce. Coleslaw was average. But again, the pie, OH THE PIE! Did I mention that the price is half of Elmers ?

I am excited when we drive up to this true dive - as there is little debate over the fact that dives produce the best barbecue in the world. Walking inside I see more home style signals that I am in for something special, not the least of which are paper covered cafeteria trays as serving dishes and pies sitting in the kitchen window. Looking at the menu we are impressed still, seeing the unusual inclusion of bologna and rib tips. Bring them both. And some ribs. And sausage. And whatever the heck buttermilk pie is, bring that too! But then things took a turn for the worse. Ribs: tasty, smoky but tough as leather. Sausage: tasty, little kick, but dry. Rip tips: what am I supposed to do with the gristle that would otherwise be held nicely at the end of the bone? I could get the surrounding meat off a lot easier if you'd left it alone. On the better side of things, the sauce was unique. Potentially having to do with the season (we visited in November), the sauce had a hint of pumpkin pie. Not actual pumpkin, maybe some nutmeg or cinnamon. But definitely everyone at the table had the same reaction and we liked it. But the bologna - who would have guessed - was the star of the show. Smoked, thick-cut, and delicious with a dash of BBQ sauce. I might not go back to Stutts, but if I did, the bologna will be what brought me.

Truly, Honest to God, Good Home cooking! Ms. Stutts is the most gracious of hostesses and that is only trumped by her food!! Texas has a lot of GREAT BBQ, and I've been to Memphis many a times, but the food at Stutts House of BBQ is the best of the best!! And I have not even talked about all the other food available!! Do yourself a favor, leave your diet at home and just enjoy the true Southern Hospitality, decor, the patorns, and please don't leave until you have had Ms. Stutt's Buttermilk Pie!

This is real BBQ. I should just end the review there but hot damn! This food is so good I am really dying to go back to OK to eat here again. The meats are perfectly smoked, the sides are all delicious, the sweet tea is served in a carafe, and the buttermilk pie is INSANE! If you are in or near Tulsa and do not go here, you have committed a sin.

When in Tulsa, go here. And then go back. Because the food is amazing here and there isn't much else to do in Tulsa. Honestly though, some of the best BBQ I have ever had.

Good BBQ even if the outside looks a little scary. Very friendly staff. Had lunch with buttermilk pie. I especially enjoyed the spicy sauce on my ribs.

Great bbq! Outside is deceiving. Home cooked food is delicious and service couldn't be better! Be sure to check this place out next time you are in Tulsa.
