From out of town and didn't know any better... Yuk! El Chicos would have been a better option (& that says a lot coming from me). My 3 yr old wouldn't even touch his food. Maybe if I'd tried the bar?

We ordered the queso, fish tacos, combo #4 (taco, cheese enchillada and beef enchillada), and margaritas. Prices were reasonable, our dinner came out to be $34 before taxes. The food was good, but nothing stood out. Everything was just OK. The drinks however were great. For $5, the margaritas were extremely packed with tequila and a good punch. I would definitely be back for the cocktails, but I the food was not quite as "mexican" as I would hope for.

Vegetarian beans and rice + excellent guacamole is about as much as this vegan girl can hope for. Also, endless chips and salsa? Yes please.

The key to this location is that it's within walking distance for me. I'm not a huge mexican food fan and really have to be in the right mood for it. This place has the standard fair of platters, appetizers and fajitas. The real benefit of this place is the combo menu, 2 or 3 items such as taco, enchilada, tamale, chile relleno. While they have set combos, it's just as easy to mix and match your own which they are happy to do. Beef dishes are ground beef that is nicely seasoned. Chicken is shredded and braised. Things that are sauced come with a pretty tasty red sauce with meat. You can also upgrade for a minimal fee to their queso which is also good. I usually get a combo that includes two tacos and a tamale. Refried beans are refried beans. Their rice however is fantastic for some reason I cannot describe. Also no complaints about their reasonably priced house margaritas.

Always great food and even better service!!! Queso is the best ever. They also have locations at 101st and Mingo and on Brookside also. I think this is probably the better one but cant go wrong at any of them. I tend to stay at whichever location Gustavo is at, he is the best!!! Always hugs me and my wife and treats us like we are royalty everytime we go in. Great mexican food!!!

This used to be the place of my favorite food. Tonite there was hair in it. UNDER the food. The man came back and yelled at me that it was mine so everyone in the whole restaurant could hear. I will NEVER eat at any Señor Tequila again. I'm so grossed out and embarrassed at being yelled at.

This place has only one good thing going for it and it's given away in the name. Senor Tequila's is a bar that serves mexican food. One of their more famous drinks,The Big Mamma, is an experience for sure. A massive margarita served in what looks like a fish bowl is this place's claim to fame. Besides this drinkt, the place is average. The food itself is pretty awful. It's only authentic mexican if you have no concept of what mexican food is or what it should taste like. Our queso was generic, like it was heated frito-lay cheese dip. The taco platter was overpriced and bland. Our waiter was sub par and mixed up our order, but I understand these things happen. Honestly this place is only worth a visit if you want to jumpstart a night of drinking or want a big mamma. If not there are way better places to have real mexican food in Tulsa.

Great food and Margaritas. Randomly drove by this place and decided to stop. I'm glad I did. The server was so friendly and polite and the food arrived promptly. The restaurant wasn't too loud even though there were a few parties going on. I agree with a previous review that it isn't authentic Mexican, but it was still quite tasty and everything was fresh. I would definetly make a stop here again if I'm ever in Tulsa! I cannot emphasize how great the customer service was!

I was visiting a friend in Tulsa and she recommended this restaurant for a good margarita. We arrived at 9:30pm, knowing that they closed at 10pm. We were greeted (if you can call it that) by four waiters (standing around) clearly annoyed by the fact that we arrived 30 minutes before close. We assured them that we were only getting drinks. They rolled their eyes and pointed to a table for us to sit. Our drinks arrived at 9:50 and by 10:05 they were flicking the lights on and off to signal us to leave. We'd barely finished 1/4 of our drinks! For the next 15 minutes they continued to signal us by turning lights off and then every server in the restaurant crowded us in nearby booths, some lying down others playing in their cell phones. It was the most uncomfortable restaurant experience! We inhaled our drinks and existed by 10:20. The entire restaurant followed us out. Needless to say, worst margarita in town!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
