It was my first time to eat at Oliveto and we were celebrating my bday as well. I have to say my friends and I were very happy with the food and service. I am so happy I chose to do my bday dinner there. I will definitely be back. Thank you Oliveto for making my bday dinner great :)

I have been to Oliveto twice. The first time was amazing and the second time was okay. The service is always outstanding! The first time I went I got Caliente Chicken which was delicious! The second time I tried something else. I think I will stick with Caliente Chicken. Will definitely go back again!

Great restaurant. Oven roasted rosemary chicken was excellent. The tomato bisque was also excellent. I had the cedar plank salmon last time and it was also excellent. Great food. Great family atmosphere. Definitely worth your time if you are in the mood for Italian.

Oliveto is Great. The food is always consistent, fresh, and perfect. It is a very casual restaurant with very well put together dishes. I've tried several dishes they were all excellent. The Rosemary Chicken was excellent. The Wood Plank Salmon was super fresh. This place is one of the best lunch stops in the entire area.

Foods good! Sea bass not the quality worth $18! Service usually pretty good here. Last trip male servers walking in between tables bumped my chair twice I told him to find a new path! Then I was the bad guy after he mocked me one server at a time! Punk!

Tried out Oliveto's after receiving a discount card in the mail. I'd say this is a solid choice for families and a casual Italian meal. Similar options as an Olive Garden but without the amazing breadsticks. We had the calamari, Amore pizza, and Ravioli. Plus one glass of wine and tax, our total was $40. Everything was "good" not great but nothing bad. Service was very good. Food came out extremely quickly, almost to the point where it made you wonder just how much was pre-prepared. I initially wished they served free bread, but after trying the piece provided with my ravioli, I was unimpressed. I see mentions of free bread in old reviews so maybe they got rid of that. I'd go back again with a coupon.

I love Oliveto! I haven't tried anything here that I haven't liked. This is one of those places that I actually prefer sitting at the bar. The bartenders are always so friendly and helpful and the service is quick. This time I ordered the pepperoni chicken. It is bow tie pasta with marinara, peppers, pepperoni, and chicken. It came out hot and cooked perfectly. The bread that comes with is is delicious. I only ate half and brought the rest home. Just a tip: get the bruschetta sundae. It is delicious. We didn't get it this time, but it is so good! Also, sign up for their email club. They send coupons for free appetizers, BOGO, etc.

One word sums this place up: Awful!!! Worst Italian food I ever had! Bread hard as a rock. I didn't even finish my dish! I would not return here if my life depended on it! Save your money and go to Panera next door!

We enjoy Oliveto's atmosphere and service and food. It is our "go to" date-night restaurant - especially after 8pm when appetizers are half price. My favorite is salmon cakes to start, then tilapia in creamy lemon sauce and with sautéed mixed veggies. Its deliciousness resounds into day two for left overs!

Not quite as satisfying the second time around, but still good. Started with the bruschetta. It was delicious! Though, I would have preferred thinner crustier bread. I ordered the 3 Meat Skillet al Forno which has Italian sausage, sliced chicken, and a huge meatball on top of spaghetti. The dish was good, but the meatball itself was just sad. It was moist, but it had absolutely no flavor! My boyfriend got the mac and cheese again, but with chicken. He loved it. The service was great. Our waiter was talkative but not overly so, and very friendly and attentive.

Just tried for the first time. As for the bread, it's not very good but they make up for it by not giving you a lot. Most italian places bring out unlimited bread and give you some oil/garlic/herb combo to dip in. One of the great parts of an Italian restaurant. Here, my wife got a piece with her salad and we both got a piece with our entree. It wasn't great and sure could have used some oil to dip it in to make it taste better. My wife got a side salad which was good and had a good combination of ingredients. She got their blue cheese and the server also brought her a side of their caesar to try. The blue cheese had very little blue cheese and the caesar was unique in that it was very tangy due to citrus being added. She liked it. I don't think I would have like it on a caesar because it was so tangy. She had the chicken scallopini which she like but she thought was a bit too lemony. I got the 3 meat Skillet Al Forno which the server warned me was hearty and she was right. LOTS of meat in this one and their red sauce had good flavor. The server knew the menu really well and had suggested a dish with the marsala sauce. But, because she knew my wife was curious about it, she brought out some for us to take home with our leftovers. It was quite good and my wife used it on her dish to cut the lemon flavor. I will try it again. I just wish they would revamp their entire bread situation.

We visited Oliveto recently for dinner, and I think it's pretty good for the price. I had been twice before-both for lunch-and I think I'll stick with visiting them for lunch because it's a casual bistro, so it's a tad too casual for my dinner taste. We started with their Bruschetta, which was pretty tasty. I ordered their Wedge salad, which was decent. For my entree, I ordered their Red & White Ravioli (marinara on one half, Alfredo on the other)..this was pretty tasty. Next time, I think I'll order this again and ask for Alfredo on the entire thing. They have a decent wine list, with several affordable options by the glass. All in all, this place is tasty and affordable-it's not classic Italian by any means, but it's good for the price.

I had never been there for dinner so tonight my husband and I decided to try it out. While we were waiting for a table outside, a waiter asked if we had been waited on. Of course we hadn't at that point but we didn't have a table yet so we weren't expecting to be waited on. I was already impressed right then. When we did get our table, that man turned out to be our waiter.... David .... He was amazing. Very personable and very fun. So, not only was he great, but the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was very casual, cozy and fun. We found our new favorite Italian place and our favorite waiter we'll always ask for. :)

Great date place. Unbelievably kind to gluten free needs. They have a wonderful gluten free menu. Good prices. Bob the GM is wonderful and made our visit quite enjoyable. Wonderful pastas and pizzas and steak.

I've eaten here twice and both experiences have been good. From the outside, it looks like a casual bistro. Inside, the decor is dark and classy. The menu consists of pizzas, pasta, salads, and sandwiches. On this visit, I got the Mac n' Cheese n' Cheese n' Cheese - bowtie pasta with 3 different types of cheese, onions, jalepeno bacon (which wasn't as spicy as it sounds), and topped with breadcrumbs. You can add shrimp or chicken for an additional fee (I added the shrimp). The meal came out pretty fast. It was hot and cheesy. I thought it was perfectly flavored and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Only bad thing I can say is that the portions are smaller than I would have liked.

Classy atmosphere and delicious food. I love the Chicken Scallopine (which comes with a lemon cream sauce, and I ask for no mushrooms), and my husband likes the Asiago Spinach Chicken. They also offer $3 pepperoni bread every Saturday, which is yummy and filling enough to be an entree ... two can eat for $6! They have TVs as well, so it's a great place to catch a game and have some good eats without going to a sports bar. Enjoy!

Sat down at bar to order to go at 7:15, walked out at 8:15 due to slow service. Bartender spent more time worrying about what he had to do vs. actualy doixng was hat he is there to do. Ordered a drink and they did not ask for my ID. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was my order I got spaghetti alfredo chicken. I did not squawk because it already had taken about 15 minutes to provide me with utensils. I will not be back unless required to.

  • Sandy E.

It took ten minutes to get someone on the phone tonight to place a carry-out order ... but the bartender was so sweet, I forgot about being annoyed. They lose stars for being a boring chain restaurant with no personality. I've been here maybe 4 or 5 times. Food goes from good (pizza) to average/poor (everything else). I read the review about soggy flatbread pizza. That has not been my experience at all. The pizza is about all this place has going for it. It's far better than their parent, Mazzios Pizza.

Went here for dinner last week. They were advertising some specialty martinis, so I thought I'd give one a try. It was fairly expensive, and very weak (I could taste nothing aside from the fruit juice). The food itself was just ok (about on par with olive garden). Not really anything special here, and I doubt I'll be back.

They stopped serving Sam Adams sometime in the last year since I was here last, which is a bummer. But now they have Stella Artois, which almost makes up for it. You can't go wrong with the Asiago spinach dip, and the steak is up to snuff. As for the pasta, Alfredo anything is worth it, but I'd steer clear of anything with red sauce. That's just me. I'm not a huge fan of the stuff. Overall a good experience and good Italian.

Ate the Chicken Primavera...a bit over flavored, but light for lunch. Nice patio (with shade) and good service. I was surprised to find so many great food options (non-chains) in Tulsa, OK.

  • Quinton D.

Food was good. Nice decor. Very little atmospher. Needs a better sound system and a staff that doesn't seem uptight. Has a good wine selection and an outdoor patio.

This is a great new place with a Mediterranean influenced menu. I've been twice in the same week. Both times I had one of the pizzas. Greek and Capri, both were great! The crust was perfect and light and the toppings were very flavorful. The salads are also very good. The service is friendly and quick and they have a nice wine list and several of my favorite beers. I'll definitely be going back for more.

I heard great things about this place had to try it and was very disappointed. I have never had a brick oven pizza with soggy crust it was gross, my husband had a three meat pasta and it was gross also the meatballs were freezer burned. They can use way more staff we sat there 20 minutes waiting to have our order taken, our beverage was not refilled. We will not be back to many other places to try. This was a huge disappointment.

Great food and decor but you have to get there early because it fills up quickly. Try the bruscetta!

Went here with 4 other people on 2/14 for lunch. It was good--I had the Greek pizza and the other people loved their dishes--cedar plank salmon, 3 meat skillet, Tilapia, etc. Nice decor and service.

Hungry In South Tulsa // Feb 12, 2009 at 10:31 am I met a few friends at Oliveto Italian Bistro's bar last night, Wednesday Feb 11, for Happy Hour. They have great deals on an impressive variety of beers. My favorite were the local beers; Marshal and Choc. Very cool bar BTW. Several huge flat screens, granite, cool decor, etc. Their $6.00 Happy Hour pizza special from 3-6 is enough to go back any day. The pizzas were fantastic. So good I took several home to my family. Very authentic artisan pizza crust and unique toppings. The best pizza that I have found in Tulsa. Other than that, the rest of the dinning room looks very comfortable and inviting. Our server really knew his stuff and was very nice. The view of the kitchen is very interesting, if you're into that sort of thing which I am. You can see everyone doing their thing and really getting after it. I'm taking my wife their for our Valentine's dinner date. If the other entrees are as good as the pizza I'm sure we won't be disappointed. I can't wait to try the wine list out. Great looking prices, just like their menu.

Yet again I go to a restaurant I've never tried and it's..... a chain. Technically, this one's not a chain--yet. It's owned by Ken Selby, the founder of Mazzio's and Zio's. (At least that's what our server told us.) So, corporate at the very least. Speaking of servers, ours was Amanda and she was very competent. She was knowledgeable about the menu, she was personable, she was pleasant. If you go there, ask for her. The decor was very nice. Lots of dark wood and mirrors and nifty light fixtures and an open kitchen. (Bonus points for the open kitchen, as it was pretty clean when I walked past and looked on my way to the restroom.) Cons: tacky tacky tacky salt and pepper grinders made by McCormick on the table and the red pepper flake shaker a la Pizza Hut, and paper napkins. The menu.... well, let's just say that the menu didn't live up to the decor. It seemed a bit cheap for the place. I don't mean inexpensive, I mean cheap. Starters: we had the Bruschetta "Sundae"-- a martini glass filled with bruschetta topping and served with "artisan bread" on the side. Um..... let's discuss, shall we? The tomatoes were bland. There was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much garlic (jarred, it had to be) in the mixture, the basil was treated horribly-- sharp knives, anyone? And for the love of all that is holy, must balsamic vinegar be put on EVERYTHING? The bread was toasted on a panini press rather than grilled, but it was fine. Not artisan bread, but fine nonetheless. We also had the Pan-Seared Mozzarella. Alas, it was just another version of the ubiquitous mozzarella stick, but in slice form and served on meat sauce. The meat sauce was rather overpowering-- if you took a bite of the cheese and sauce at the same time, all you could taste was the sauce. And, note to cooks: salt and pepper goes a long way. By the way, can we change the silverware between courses? Thanks. I like a clean fork, don't you? For entrees, we had the Pesto Chicken pasta (but substituted Italian sausage) and the Asiago Spinach Chicken. The menu descriptions: Pesto Chicken pasta--Sliced chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, artichokes, onions, pesto and white wine, bowtie pasta. Asiago Spinach Chicken--Sliced chicken, artichoke hearts, Asiago creamed spinach, jalapeño bacon, tomatoes, with bowtie pasta. The pesto pasta was sorely lacking in flavor. We couldn't decide whether or not the pesto was jarred, because a) it had no flavor and b) there were several huge basil stems in it. It's a toss-up. The Italian sausage was bland bland bland. No spice whatsoever. The Asiago Spinach Chicken was a remake of Zio's Artichoke Spinach Chicken. The only difference I could note was the tiny bit of zip from the jalapeno bacon. Both pastas were served with one piece of baked-from-frozen baguette that was drizzled with a bit of herbed oil or butter, we couldn't tell which. Dessert... tiramisu. Same brand they use at Zio's. Nothing remarkable, thought the Oliveto logo was dusted onto the plate with cocoa powder. So... nothing remarkable, not in the least. It's just another chain-type Italian restaurant. We might be back, we might not. Either way, we were not impressed.

My husband & I come here and he loves it, I could go without ever eating there again. Needless to say, he's man who would probably eat anything. We do like the bruchetta. It's very delish! My biggest complaint is that the food comes out WAY the hell to fast. Weird complaint I know but your entree comes out to your table so fast that you know nothing they have is fresh.

Went a time or two after open. Returned recently for lunch, after kiddo hour at Bounce-U (heavens, that place is worth the $8 per toddler!). Lunch combos are a good idea. But add a meat to the pasta, and you're getting upcharged. Mine was $11 + drink. As such, there are better options for the price. Service was pleasant and capable on this weekday. My criticism, as it was when I first tried this place back in ~ 2011 was that the food is just so-so. It's owned by the Zios family of restaurants. I have a similar critique of Zios as well. Wife had the burger, which was burned to a crisp. Salads are okay (3*); tomato bisque (generous topping of pesto) was great (4*); but the mains were found lacking. Averaged out, gotta dip below 3* on this review.

The pizza and service were lukewarm. The food tastes like a chain restaurant trying to be authentic and my pizza came out cold. Not particularly bad, But definitely nothing special.

Takes reservations so huge plus right there. We got there early and went for a drink at the bar and ended up staying there for dinner. Great atmosphere and nice furnishings inside. Had the tilapia over linguini with lemon creme sauce. It was really good. The bruschetta appetizer was my favorite! Good beers on tap and good drink menu too. A step up from the OG chain type Italian!

This is our go to Italian restaurant for Tulsa. My wife and I go about twice a month. The staff hve always been pleasant and some remembered us. The wait has never been long and they've been very tentative. I always go for one of their personal pizzas, and my wife ad I usually get bruschetta or cheesy bread flatbread. After 8pm they have half price appetizers and pizzas also. Which is fantastic for a cheaper date or adding dessert

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
