Get your chopsticks ready! I have to wholeheartedly disagree with Ben W's review below. I am Asian; raised in an Asian restaurant. I don't know how ANYONE can say their soup is bland and basic. I do agree with his pic of the soup and would say it is as appetizing as it looks. Broth VERY complex, with a little bang, but not too much. As for an Asian I do NOT really enjoy too spicy food like others. More of a preference for southern/Cantonese Asian cuisine v. spicy/Northern Szechuan cuisine. But that's just my taste. Because with a little additional sauce, you can definitely "kick it up a notch" as Emeril says. In any event, while my stomping grounds are Oklahoma City, I travel to Tulsa often and like trying new places. So this was a new Asian restaurant for me to try. They are also part of SW Airlines Rapid Rewards dining if that makes a difference to anyone. The decor is more eclectic than Asian. I think Asian fusion would be more accurate. Dark, wood, interior. Very comfortable bar. My service at the bar by "Michelle" (her name I think) was fantastic. She was personable and friendly; eager to make sure my dining experience was pleasant, as were all the other employees. They were not that busy when I came in but they did have two large groups that commanded their attention a bit later. I think they were just a little short on help due to some ailing employees but I think they were very accommodating. Another value; sit at the bar. At Happy Hour or until 6pm at least, they have half price appetizers at the bar. Their menu is varied. If I had one complaint it was about my understanding of their Roast Pork appetizer. I asked if it was prepared Asian, like char-sui or chinese style roast pork. She said it was. Actually it was more like an american roast or grilled pork v. oriental style, other than it had some green onions on top. I thought for the half price special it was a value; but as an appetizer it was a little meh........would have been better to keep as a side for adding to the soup. Not that the soup portions were small by any means. She recommended the spicy Udon noodle soup, which I will try next time, but the Shiro Ramen Noodle I had was very good. Plenty of noodles, vegetables, etc. Like I said above this is NO bland Pho broth. It had body. I think you should give this place a try. It's definitely NOT your typical asian buffet restaurant. And with a full bar, and located in the Consortium in Brookside, it would be a fun place with a group or on a date.

As an Asian person, I was hopeful when I heard about this place since I always have to drive to Oklahoma City for decent Asian food. Unfortunately, I found the food here lacking overall. The service was decent. Decor and atmosphere were decent. My friend ordered Pad Thai with Chicken. We found it lacking Tamarine and had too much MSG & was sour. The noodles itself were okay and the vegetables were fresh. It had the right amount of moderate spiciness. My Cantonese pan fried egg noodle dish was severely lacking. The noodles weren't crispy and were just clumped together in a soggy mess. This is not how Cantonese panfried egg noodles are supposed to be done. I know since I am Cantonese and grew up on Cantonese food. Unfortunately, it just missed the mark on these two dishes. I might come back to try other dishes because I'm desperate for authentic Asian food in Tulsa.

Really, really good ramen and fast, friendly service! Got our food within 15 minutes of walking in the door. I also loved the atmosphere of this hidden place. They will make anything spicy if you ask ;) also, try the ramen with kimchi in it.

Love Ming's. Chef Fai's long family history in the Tulsa Chinese food scene is evident. I love the twists he puts on traditional Chinese fare (smoked brisket in the Egg Foo Young). The house made sauces are delicious (ask for a side of the ginger soy). Chef Fai's 3 Dragons Chili Oil let's you add additional spice to any dish. I particularly liked the coconut soup. Chicken stock adds savory richness (so the tofu version isn't vegetarian friendly) unlike many I have tried that taste like little more than watered down coconut milk. The green empress dressing was a nice surprise, and the House-made Kim chi and spicy cucumbers are excellent. I enjoyed the spinach Fried rice, triple mushroom delight and spicy shrimp Lo Mein. One thing that was quite surprising was a nice selection of craft beers. I can think of only a couple places in town with Delierium Tremens on tap, and I would never have guessed a Chinese restaurant would be one of them. Other options included a Marshall and a rotating Boulevard Smokestack offering. All of the bar and waitstaff I have encountered have been friendly and attentive. Cool owners, awesome patio and delicious food. Lunch specials are very reasonable. Complimentary valet parking is available on some days.

Went with a group of friends last Saturday. Was excited because I like noodles and the menu seemed interesting. Service aspect was poor. While we did have 10 people in our group, the restaurant was empty except for another group out on the patio. Appetizers came out quickly, but were incorrect. Some people in the group complained that their dish was cold or seemed reheated. I started with the pan fried dumplings, mine were fine. 4 to an order at $4.50 an order is a little steep. I also ordered a cup of hot and sour soup, because that's how I judge my Chinese restaurants. I enjoyed it, but the soup is not enough to have me come back. I was excited about the variety of noodle dishes on the menu. While the menu lists the noodles and ingredients in the dish, it doesn't really say anything about sauce. When asked, the server said that the chef does fusion style and therefore every dish comes out a bit different. I ordered the sweet potato noodles, which are a clear. Portion was fine, but flavor was lacking. Other people in the group who ordered noodles had the same complaints. I would note that the members in my group that ordered the Ramen were happy with there dishes. Overall this place needs better service and the noodle dishes need more flavor. Would be nice to see each dish have its own style of sauce. Also for a noodle place, it would be nice if the noodles were made in house.

Ming's was loud and the food average. The eating area was dominated by the noise from the bar area. It is much less cozy atmosphere and that of a bar -- much like the Brook is dominate by the noise of its bar. The waitstaff was slow, inattentive, and not very knowledgeable about the menu items. Tulsa has a much better more authentic Asian places.

Love the Pad Thai! Only $5 on Tuesdays too! The hot tea is delicious too. Great bar as well.

Once a go to place for me, the latest offerings at the Consortium have just left me cold. I miss the Garlic Rose, Brasserie and Grapevine, but have gamely tried out each new place that replaced these favorites. Regarding Mings, I had the opposite experience of several reviewers...the service was great, but the food was just so-so. The tempura shrimp appetizer was good and the hot and sour soup is delicious, but the entrees weren't very good. To start with, there were not nearly as many noodle dishes on the menu as expected from a place with "noodle" in the title. There was rice in abundance. Rice Bar? My husband got pork belly ramen and i got cantonese egg noodles. I'm 99% certain that somehow these dishes got mixed up because his pork belly ramen came with thick, noodle soup type noodles and my egg noodle dish contained thin, squiggly ramen type. Also, the sunny side up egg on my husband's "ramen" was virtually raw. The white on the egg white was completely clear and not cooked at all. I wonder if my husband's pork belly and my chicken dishes might have been a little better had they come with the correct noodles, but honestly both were quite bland and the raw egg white was off-putting. The wine list is also kind of odd...there is an entire page of red wine, but just a handful of white offerings. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I tend to favor a crisp white when eating spicy Asian food. Suffice it to say...this place was OK, but not great. The patio would be a fabulous place for drinks and appetizers, but I would not recommend it for dinner.

The food was incredible. We came by while traveling from Delaware, so it may be quite some time before we get to come back, but we still talk about how amazing the food we had was, and how we wish we could taste it again. I wish I could remember the food we had ordered, but I do remember how very, very impressed we were. The place is amazing, the food was incredible. If I am ever in the area again, I will go out of my way to come back. I would recommend Ming's Noodle bar, 1000%. I'm jealous of all the people close enough to eat there regularly.

This is a new addition to the Brookside area in the space that was the Brasserie. I went opening day and my food was excellent. I tried the homemade fried dumplings for an appetizer and order one of the lunch specials Chicken Lo Mein. My lunch included soup. I chose the Hot & Sour. My server Nathan was very helpful in answering all my questions about the menu items. I will be going back soon and trying some new items.

I love Mings. The food is so much better than other Asian restaurants and has made Asian delivery inedible. I. Especially love their dumplings with the ginger sauce, their hot and sour soup is the best l have had anywhere, and their service has been excellent every time we've come here. I am disabled and can not go as often as I'd like but I would eat here every week if I could.

Good drinks, not great. Solid service. Great outdoor dining area. Complementary valet makes getting in and out super fast and easy. Food, like others have mentioned lacks flavor, but ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Worth another visit to try other dishes.

This place is somewhat of a hidden gem in what is a rather busy part of town-Brookside. It's tucked back just off Peoria. Went on a Wednesday night to avoid the crowds and I'm so glad we did. We had great service from Carter. Ask for him if you ever stop in. He was very attentive and answered our questions. They have a full bar and their choice of house cocktails was great. We had the roast pork plate for an appetizer. The pork was tender and juicy and had a nice crust on the outside. It was 6-2 bite pieces which was great for 3 people. I had the smoke brisket fried rice, husband had the roasted pork dinner and our friend had the Chinese egg noodles with chicken. I sampled all of it and really enjoyed it all. I will probably get the noodles next time, they were my favorite. They had a good list of appetizers and can't wait to try more of them. We will definitely go back and ask for Carter!

Our family had a wonderful dining experience at Ming's last night. Our first visit soon after it opened was mediocre, but we wanted to give it another try. Glad we did. My husband declared his chicken fried rice the best he'd ever had (a title previously held by ITR), especially with the housemade ginger-soy sauce - we plan to stock up at home, since they are about to bottle and sell it along with their Dragon Oil at Reasor's! Our daughter enjoyed her rice noodles with chicken, and I was very pleased with the mushroom dish suggested by our wonderful waiter (my husband stole a few shiitakes from my plate to make his fried rice even better). Service is a huge factor for us in dining out, and Ming's came through where so many restaurants fail these days. We'll be back!

Wow!!!!!! I finally found the best wings in Tulsa. The Dynamite Dragon Wings are so juicy. The sauce is incredible with a little spice to it amazing. In addition to the brisket fried rice a perfect combination. Please don't not pass this by a must try you will not regret it.

Reasonable prices and delicious. I like to bring friends from out of town here for lunch, and they're always satisfied! Be sure to ask for a side of their ginger sauce with your meal.

Ate at the bar after the lunch rush therefore the place was almost empty. Ordered the Cantonese noodles with shrimp. The flavor was underwhelming and the shrimp felt like it was just boiled in plain water and tossed in therefore not a lot of flavor. However, due to the atmosphere and variety of food here, I will come back to try others

Well I'd love for this to be a thorough review of their food, but after being sat by the host we watched their two waiters circle around people who were already done...overlooking our table and not even taking time to acknowledge us. We walked after 10 minutes of being ignored completely. The ice water was nice and cold. That is all I have to say. We won't be back.

  • Moises E.

The fried rice was delicious. One of the best I've had. However, the staff was not friendly. No one at the door to tell us it would be a second before being seated (not even a "please wait to be seated" sign). They didn't have enough menus nor silver wear for our party. They didn't bring us enough menus once seated and the food took extremely long. Over 45 minutes. The food was great, but not sure if I'm willing to put up with the long wait for it. Plus, the place looked and felt ran down. Also, don't order the pickled spicy bamboo shoots. They are straight from the can, a super small portion and they taste horrible. Not sure why they even offer it as an appetizer. And last but not least.... My fortune cookie, no fortune inside. I had to ask for another one. How embarrassing!

A friend told us about this place, we were very impressed. Large portions and reasonably priced. I had the Egg Foo Young with smoked brisket it was outstanding. My husband had Spicy Asparagus Chicken not too spicy but great flavor especially when he put some of their ginger soy sauce on it! Can't wait to come back to try the patio dining in warmer weather.

Very good quaint restaurant. Loved it!! Our waitress was amazing! She kept our drinks full (which is not easy to do with us sometimes) and made great suggestions. My husband ordered the brisket Egg Foo Young and it was incredible. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan and I WILL be back for Moo Goo Monday ($5 at the bar)!! The Eggflower Soup was a classic!

  • Sarah W.

Decent Asian fare but not the best in Tulsa. Cocktail prices were steep. Dumplings were good but 4.50 for just four of them. My husband enjoyed his ramen but it was lacking a bit in flavor. I had brisket fried rice which was tasty but a little dry. Bamboo Thai on Yale I think has this place beat but will try again in a few months. Great location and atmosphere on Brookside.

Not vary impressed, they call themselves a Noodle House. Order the ramon noodle it was very salty with not alot of flavors and the noodles was overcooked. .Great service but the food is decent not excellent.

We enjoyed a girl's dinner at Ming's on a Thursday night. Everything on the menu looked enticing... I opted for the Schezuan dumplings (special for the evening) and Brisket Egg Foo Young. Both had that homemade, attention to detail quality that makes for a special meal. The flavors were abundant and distinct in each dish and sauce we tried. Chef Fai came out and chatted with our table during dinner and he was a delight to talk with about the restaurant, our dishes and his house made sauces. Definitely going to pick up some 3 Dragons oil at reasors, but they also have it available at Mings. Service was attentive and dining room was nice and comfortable for a long dinner. The patio looks perfect for when the weather cools off. Next time you want some quality Chinese food, head to Ming's!

Really authentic and delicious food. Great service, the dumplings are some of the best I have ever had. I like the unique twists on traditional dishes like spicy crawfish bowls. Not the best wine list but you can find something! I love this place.

I've dined at Chef Jow's restaurants in Houston, Austin and am thrilled he's opened Ming's in our hometown of Tulsa. I stopped in for a late lunch with a few of our lifelong friends recently. The Mudbug Fried Rice was such a wonderful choice! Whenever Fai is cooking the dumplings and the soup are must have's. It was a hot summer day and so I passed on the soup; we had dumplings, and cocktails for starters. My Moscow Mule was so refreshing and paired nicely with the dumplings. Fai does everything from scratch and made fresh daily. I loved the patio area and I plan to visit Ming's again, and often! Great job, Fai! I expect to hear all good things about this new venture.

Love the decor, the setting etc. The staff is nice and friendly. I had lunch with my family there I have 3 kids a 15 y.o, 9 y.o and a 3 y.o. Most time they love Asian food, being asian myself I've always enjoy real authentic or the typical Asian fusion food you get at the buffet. Ordered the Pad Thai. Udon noodles, fried rice and seems nothing for kids, don't see anything that my 9 and 3 y.o would like, thus the fried rice. It was bad, Pad Thai too salty and too dry and Fried rice have no taste according to my kid. My daughter love the Udon noodles, a lil bland but could be do much better. I can't recall what my husband ordered but he didn't like it that much either. Overall, I will not eat there again but will think of coming back with friends for drinks only, I think this is a good place for catching up or a date place. Not noisy as in bars etc. Enjoy the drink and the company sort of place but not the food.

I can't figure out why this place has such good ratings on yelp, so I thought I'd share about my experience. I know this is a pretty new business so I would like to think they are still working out some kinks but who knows. The main reason for 2 stars is the service. There was no one to seat us when we arrived and no direction to seat ourselves or wait for a host. Eventually a host showed up and took us to a table. A server began to take our drink order, then mid-order walked away and argued with another server a couple feet away about how she didn't think we were in her section. The second server was clearly annoyed to take our table but she finished taking our drink order, and shortly after she delivered the wrong beer to my husband. Moving on- He ordered spicy udon and I ordered a rice noodle dish. I don't know if the food took exceptionally long or if we were just getting tired of hearing the staff arguing within earshot, but my husband asked the server to check on our meal (which we never do- especially if we have some drinks to pass the time) and when it eventually arrived, it was flavorless and the rice noodle dish was very greasy. Don't ask for any sauce or chili paste to spice up your dish because all they will bring you is more flavorless oil! Some of the chefs special chili oil is all they have...I would have given anything for some siracha at that point. The whole experience, including the atmosphere, left us disappointed. Especially since it's such a great location and I love Asian food. I might give Mings a second chance in the future, as I hope they'll be refining their recipes and training or hiring a more professional staff.

I have never been so disappointed in Tulsa restaurant. We ordered the Cheese puffs, Pagoda Pork, and the Brisket Egg Foo Young - they were all underseasoned, gelatinously sauced, and overcooked. In my dish alone the steamed rice was as hard and dense as sandstone, the sauce was a single note of smoke with no additional flavor, and the biscuit in the egg dry and overcooked. I expressed discontentment with the food multiple times with no action or proposed remedy from the waiter. I can't understand why this gets as rated as high as it is (currently 4 stars), I hope it was an off day for the kitchen and that's not what they typically serve. I will not give this place another chance.

The food was decent, but nothing spectacular, and kind of salty. The atmosphere was pretty neat though; the entrance is tucked away in the back of a courtyard off of Cherry Street, and there is a nice shaded patio to dine outside on. The service was good. Probably worth going on Tuesdays when Pad Thai is five dollars! Update: Tried the $5 Pad Thai Tuesday special this week and it was delicious! If you are going for the special keep in mind you'll be seated at the bar.

We LOVE this place! Been quite a few times for both lunch and dinner. Be sure and try their fried pork skins. Not even sure if it is on the menu, but it is amazing, takes them days to make it. They have a full bar and their bartender is really good. Every thing i have had there is delicious. Last time I went with friends it was for lunch and I started out with the Hot and Sour Soup and it was very good and flavorful. I am pretty picky about Hot and Sour Soup. Then I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan which can be bland at some places, but not here. It was so good and a bit different. Best I have had. They have great appetizers too and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

We had a nice patio dining experience at Ming's. Though the patio is right off the parking lot, it is still quiet and secluded. The décor outside and inside was quite nice! Don't let my three stars fool you, I will definitely be back. I think I need to just give this place a second chance to "wow" me, because I think it can! Our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu items, which I believe led to some confusion when bringing out the food. My dish was good (some kind of noodles...Cantonese noodles maybe?), but the server brought my boyfriend the wrong order. It had a similar name to what he ordered, so I think that might have been where the confusion was. Overall the food we had was good. The service was a bit slow, and the server did take my [pretty expensive alcoholic] drink away from the table before I was finished. Like I mentioned previously, I definitely want to give Ming's another try. It has a wonderful patio, and I want to get the chance to explore some of their more popular menu items. Stay tuned for an updated review :)

I was disappointed in the food and service. For a Friday night, the place was nearly empty, in stark contrast to other packed patios off of Peoria. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is nice but doesn't jive with any sort of "noodle house" theme. The patio out back however is very charming, although a bit isolated when the place is empty. We started off with the dumplings which were pricey for how small and forgettable they were. I ordered some ramen which when presented gave me a flash of hope for Mings. That hope dissipated with the first bite of the noodles. They were just very basic. The broth was nothing special and despite the very attractive presentation of my dish, it was lacking. Mings has some very tough local competition and it's honestly very difficult for me to find a reason to go here over many other local places. Hopefully Mings looks into some of their dishes and kicks the flavor up a notch.

I wanted to love this place. The outside patio is beautiful, and the waitstaff was friendly. However, there were far less vegetarian options than I expected for a noodle restaurant. I tried the sweet potato udon with tofu, and it was unfortunate. I ate a small portion of the food before the saltiness was more than I could bear, and ended up getting a mint from a friend just to get the taste out of my mouth. I don't see myself coming back here, I don't want to return somewhere when my primary motivation on leaving was to cleanse my palate asap.

  • Megan M.

One of the worst places I've ate at. I'd say the food tastes bad, but it had absolutely ZERO flavor. I got the Cantonese egg noodles with chicken. The noodles were burned to a crisp and it tasted like I was eating cardboard. Way over priced. The service was so-so. Will never be back here.

  • Tanner H.

A really solid dinning experience. I sat on the patio, ordered a beer and ramen noodles, and started planning my next visit. Parking is easy with a good sized lot behind the restaurant. The staff was friendly and had welcomed suggestions. The beer prices aren't bad, but I wish I'd ordered an app instead. I'll have to try the dumplings next time. Chop sticks aren't standard, but they can quickly get you a set if you ask.

Went to Ming's for the first time today for a business lunch, the service was very good. Attentive, helpful, and friendly. They made recommendations since we hadn't been there before, and I was very pleased. Tried the pan fried dumplings, very good. Ming's dragon wings were great. The best egg drop soup I've ever had. And for the meal I chose smoked brisket fried rice. Awesome. All around great experience.

I'm giving this restaurant five stars based on my excellent first experience. I had the dumplings to start and the mandarin pork belly for my entree. The dumplings are good but the homemade ginger soy sauce make them exceptional (I was literally eating the sauce with a spoon). Pork belly was flavorful and the veggies were very fresh tasting (pictured). A must-go in Tulsa!

Really great flavors, great vegetarian options/modifications, dog-friendly patio, lots of spicy additions. Most often I've had stellar service - I believe one bad lunch was a fluke. Love the noodle dishes most of all, obviously.

I saw this place while I was going to another restaurant on Brookside last weekend. I made sure that I came the following week. I love Asian dishes so this was right up my alley. Looking at the menu, there's a good selection from noodles, rice & soup dishes. I went with the Sweet Potato Noodles. It was a hard decision between that & the Spicy Udon Noodles. The dish was full of flavor & they were NOT stingy with the chicken. I'm not that big of a fan of veggies but they were good. The prices are very reasonable. The people were nice & made sure I was ok the whole time I was waiting on my to-go order. I might have to come back again for the Spicy Udon Noodles next time around. In a very nice area connected to other restaurants & I believe a clothing store.

I went here in the middle of the week, it wasn't very crowded, but the service was decent. The kimchi was quite good, really it was the best part of the meal. I had the brisket fried rice which was good, but not great. It was not especially flavourful, and needed a bit of sirachia sauce. Ill probably go back again in the future, at least to see if they've gotten any better.

Great food and a very friendly staff. Chef Fai will come to your table to personally ensure you had a great experience! The house made kimchi is delicious, as are the soups and dragon wings. We love the pho and ramen, but ask about the specials. Chef Fai will only serve certain items and specials if they are truly fresh. The mussels were amazing on our first trip, but I was disappointed to hear they weren't offered on our second visit. Until I was told it was because they didn't have a fresh order. Focusing on quality is why this restaurant is so good! We will be back often!

I was pleasantly surprisedby this place. I was hesitant at first because there was no bartender or many servers present when I arrived. To be fair they have just opened and are working out the kinks. The food made up for thier service. It was excellent. I really hope this place gets to running smoothly because it is worth a stop in for lunch. The are large portions worth the price you pay. Stop in for some great food.
