DesiWok is one of my favorite places from which to get take out. I like Asian and Indian food, but in no way am I an expert. The only thing I ever order from DesiWok is the Chicken Tikki Masala so that's really the only item on the menu that I can vouch for. But let me tell you, it is SO GOOD. And the naan that comes with it... heavenly. DesiWok's menu is filled with numerous Indian and Asian meals, many of which are gluten free and clearly noted so. They let you choose the level of "spiciness" for each meal which is also nice. I've heard other people say that DesiWok is 'Indian food for beginners.' Maybe so, but I wouldn't really know as Indian food is not on my radar all too often. All I know is that I could eat DesiWok any day of the week. I would recommend getting your food to go as the inside of the restaurant lacks any sense of atmosphere. Fortunately DesiWok does a great job of packaging up meals to go. Just call in to place your order and it will most likely be ready to go when you arrive.

Never before have I been disappointed by Indian food. The chai is made from a powdered mix, the naan seems Costco bought and the sauces are simply not good. Plus is REALLY expensive considering the quality of the food. Everything in the menu is $9. For bad indian food. I would not charge more than $5 for these plates. Two people and one drink summed up to $27. Same we would expect to spend on a traditional sit-down Indian Restaurant. Definable not worth it. You will be better off a the Panera next door.

I was super excited about going here but then... meh. Maybe I just didn't know what to order? The food wasn't good to me at all. The atmosphere was strange, and it felt dirty in there. It seemed out of date and yuck. Not a fan. Most likely won't be back. Some reviewers seem to love it, but the whole thing was way less than impressing to me. Tulsa has so many great places to eat, why even bother if it isn't great!

let's be real.. Indian food takeout is ALWAYS a good option. Desi wok never disappoints. their naan and tiki masala are out of this world. you are missing out if you haven't tried this place. the location is tricky - kind of hard to find.. back in a little shopping strip close to promenade mall. great service, friendly people, mouthwatering food.. what more could a diner ask for?

This is the first and only place I've tried Indian food, so you can take my review with a grain of salt. I always order the chicken tikka masala and it never disappoints. Ask for it "hot" if you like spicy food. On my last visit, we had the best service. They know how to keep their customers happy!

Be warned, once you try this place you'll be back before the week is out. Seriously, I went and was back several days later ordering the same thing. Desi drew me back in like a fish on a hook. The menu is extensive and offers many choices, but I stick to the Chicken Tikka Masala. The staff has figured out that this is the main reason that people come, so if you ask whats good they will likely suggest it. The naan is especially good, I love the garlic version. The service is extremely quick at times when the restaurant is not too busy.

Great food - I love the Tikka Masala. Prices are a bit high, but I will definitely go back.

Most people that I've talked to and don't really like DesiWok is because it is not just 100% Indian nor 100% Asian (Most of them actually Indian or Asian), which I understand since authenticity is always a huge factor. I however don't take this as an offense. On the contrary, I love that there is such a fusion and appreciate the variety of options in one place. I think it is such a cool idea to offer such diversity, plus, they clearly advertise is as such, starting with their name! Desi is an Indian term while wok is a Chinese term. Having said that, DesiWok is an Indian Asian Grill featuring Indian, Asian and Indo-Chinese dishes. They serve fresh individual entrées and made-to-order food. Something I love about it is that they prepare the dishes based on people's spicy preference (mild, medium or hot), allowing everyone to enjoy based on their tolerance level. The atmosphere is friendly and casual and I love it when they have live music playing. As far as the food goes, the Indian dishes are served with naan and basmati rice (both really good). The Asian entrees are served with cumin or fried rice or noodles, vegetables, tofu or chicken. My favorite dishes are Samosas (as an appetizer), they're like thin crepes stuffed with potatoes and green peas, tikka masala (tomato and cream-based sauce) with chicken and the tandoor plate (chicken on skewers). I also love their mango lassi.

They were not anything too special. The staff was great, the food was a lot, you could share it even with a friend, if they let you do that, but a bit price.

Desi is perfect for a more casual, quicker Indian meal. I'd forget about the asian side. It's thoroughly eclipsed by the Indian food. I'm a huge fan of the Medium Lamb Tikka Masala. It's ridiculously good. The place has fallen into pretty rough repair in the last couple of years, but the food is still just as good. It's probably time for a remodel.

Desi Wok is a great restaurant to grab some Indian food. I usually get the chicken tikka tandoor plate or the masala. The naan is always delicious. They ask what spice level you like and I usually get the hot which isn't too bad. You can ask for extra spicy but be prepared, it's not for the faint of heart. Other than that, the saag is a great side dish that I enjoy with the naan. Side note: TU students get 10% off with their ID

Best food ever! even when we got there before close they where very nice and the food was fresh they really do deserve tips if that was an option but it is sort of a fast food environment, so no tip jar or waitress. Go if you can the best for less money!

Great restaurant for Asian-Indian fusion food. The food is consistently delicious and pretty quick. I almost always get a tikka masla meal and I've never been disappointed. It's a casual place to eat, but we've started getting ours to go because the inside could use a little updating. Other than that, perfect place to go.

Have been here many times and always get the Tikka Masala. Generally decent (2-3 out of 5), but it is very heavy. I have tried several times, including my last visit to branch out and find something lighter that I like. I can say that any other dish I have tried, not only do I not like it, I think it is REALLY BAD... This includes their Asian dishes. This last visit I tried an order of mixed (veggie and chicken) spring rolls and szechuan chicken with fried rice. The spring rolls were small (which can be ok), but the filling was pretty flavorless. It was like I was eating just fried wonton paper and filling was an afterthought. On to the main course. First, it was bright red, I mean tech nocolor, unnatural red. The red sauce coated all ingredients so every bite was a mystery!!! It had baby corn, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms and chicken (breaded). Everything but the carrots were obliterated. Really really overcooked. The breading on the chicken was soggy. Left most of the plate except the fried rice which was passable. Probably wont be back unless I am desperately requiring a tikka fix. (their naan is pretty good as well). I don't do too many negative reviews, but this is after several attempts. Sucks because the people there are generally very friendly.

Unfortunately, I must update my review of this restaurant. After a visit here on October 28, 2013 I was gravely disappointed in the customer service provided by the manager and the owner. Before recapping my experience, let me just point out that this was one of my favorite restaurants in town. Though I used to come here very often, my experience has been so bad that I will never go here again, and hopefully my experience can save some others from going through the same ordeal. We ordered food to go on a slow Monday evening. Our order was exactly the same as it always is: tofu tikka masala and spicy chicken korma. Things started to go wrong when I arrived to pick up the order, and the total was more than double what it was supposed to be. After reading back my order and realizing the error, they took my correct order down, I paid for it, and I waited another 20 minutes. Inconvenient, but not that big of a deal. This is the first point at which the manager, John, could have apologized and didn't . Then I received the food and went home to eat. It is important to note that I couldn't check the contents of the bag before I left because they had tightly tied and double knotted the plastic sack. When I got home and opened the bag, I was furious the there was a chicken tikka masala, a side of tikka masala sauce, three containers of rice, and some naan. I called immediately and asked to speak to the manager. The manager, John, informed me that I would have to go on the website to complain, and there was nothing he could do to fix it. He did not apologize, instead he yelled at me when I asked for my money back, and then hung up on me! I left a comment on the website, and have called the store at least 8 or more times to leave messages for the owner. I'm a really reasonable person, but I still want my $25 back for the food I never received.

A TON of food for a great price. You can customize your dish to suit your spicy specifications which is great when you're coming with a lot of people. Desi is also really great for take out. The naan never disappoints, and I always have leftovers!

This is my first choice for Indian food in Tulsa. I also usually get the same thing every time but its only because I think its so good I'm scared to venture away even though other people I go there with get and love other meals. I love the Chicken Tikka Masala Hot. (you can choose from mild, medium, hot). It comes with two pieces of yummy naan bread and cumin rice. My brother lives in Norman and eats Indian food a lot, he ordered the Khorma Medium and loved it. Another friend ordered the Chicken Biryani, I tried it too, and we both really liked it. Its a really awesome place to try for indian food, the staff is really nice, and there are booths and tables and tvs.

I've only ever gone for lunch, but I've gone half a dozen times. I recommend the chicken tikka masala, I've tried other things and heaven't really liked anything else. While this is tasty it is not at all authentic Indian cuisine. The food isn't too spicy. The na'an is amazing. There is a student discount if you show a valid ID!

  • K B W.

This food is here terrible. We recently got carryout, a supposedly spicy chicken, the fried rice and the saag. We threw everything into the trash after we got it home. The food smelled and tasted bad. This has never happened to us anywhere else. Nothing about any of the dishes tasted as we expected, and we ordered familiar dishes that you can order at any Asian or Indian restaurant in town. Also, they got the portion size of the order wrong, and we paid for food we didn't get. Very disappointing. Will never go again.

  • Mitch B.

orange chicken good restrooms clean, Chicken Tikka Masala was good, i got the hot version, wasn't to spicy needed more curry, but all in all very good.. The Garlic Naan was good as well... Fast service, food was hot so not to bad of a place.. Yes we will return to try more things at a later Date and we will review those as well....

  • Paul B.

The food is just terrible. Their biryani is SWEET (a big no-no). I've been to India and had actual biryani from the source and this so-called "Indian" food is nothing but a waste of money!

  • Josh C.

I have eat just about everything on their menu and most of it is outstanding. The only two things i have had that were disappointing were the cheeseburger tikka masala and the hummus. Those two items are horrible. Everything else is very good.

  • A T.

Average Indian food for cheap. The chicken tikka masala has a more savory taste than most and leaves you feeling full pretty quickly. Eat here if you want huge portions of food for less.

    (3)
  • J T.

An unfortunate update. They have raised their prices a bit, and the food quality has dropped a little as well. Still my favorite Indian food in Tulsa though. The combination of hootie and the blowfish and Mexican music blaring from the kitchen simultaneously was a bit interesting as well.

    (4)
  • Hannah B.

WOW!! This stuff is good!!! There main dish is absolutely delicious! It's a must try. I haven't tried anything but the tikki masala but I don't know why I would need to eat anything else every.

I like desi wok. I go on weekdays for lunch and am always with coworkers. We regularly order either the Chicken Tikka masala or the Desi Combo. The Chicken Tikka masala is awesome and I always order it extra spicy. It's not too hot. The naan is also very good. The service and speed isnt always spectacular, but usually decent. The desi combo is good. I dont know many that can eat the desi combo in one sitting. It's a ton of food. Overall, desi wok is a pretty good spot to visit for lunch.

    (4)
  • Lauren C.

So I remember one time, many years ago, I order my typical Desi Combo and this particular time I ordered the medium heat instead of mild. It tasted amazing, it was just the right type of spice, and it was super pleasing. I went out later that night to get some drinks with friends and apparently I had that one too many because by the time I got home and went to lay down to sleep the room was spinning and the toilet was calling my name. Because of my awesome Desi Combo from earlier I vomited hot acid fire that evening because of the "one too many" drinks I had consumed. Moral of the story you youngin's out there? Don't be an idiot with your drinking. Pacing yourself doesn't make you weak and you still get to have your buzz AND keep your awesome Desi Wok food down throughout the whole evening without succumbing to second degree burns on your throat. As for the review for this restaurant, this place is great. I come here when I have that special craving that only Desi can fill.

  • Stephanie F.

I have tried the Chicken Tikka, the Tikka Masala sauce and the Naan bread are the best. DesiWok is always consistent. I usually order the Hot, it isn't over the top for hot if you are used to eating hot spicy food.

    (5)
  • Michael M.

I was really hoping that this place was fantastic as I had heard great things about it. I was disappointed the place was kind of dirty. I will say that the naan was really good. Had some hummus it was runny and the vegetables that they served with it did not seem very fresh. Oh well...I won't be back. Wasn't horrible, but wasn't good either.

    (3)
  • Aguigui T.

This place is more like a fusion. I don't have any problems with fusions, but you have to get the basic foundations of cooking. Food was either too sweet or too heavy. It's also over priced. If you're looking for Indian food, go somewhere else. If you're trying to get introduced to Indian food and you lean towards the American culture of eating, I'd recommend this place.

    (2)
  • Heather H.

I had the veggie Tika masala and the flavor was out of this world. The naan was fresh and the overall value was great. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly. I will be back.

Desi Wok has to be one of my favorite places to order food from. Usually I stop and pick up a order on the way home from a photo session. We always get the Lamb Tikka Masala Hot (my favorite!) and the Blazing noodles medium. I love to save the noodles for left overs for the next two days. The lamb never lasts that long cause we love it so much! One meal comfortable feeds two people. I can't seem to get my parents to try the Indian food but they really like the sweet and sour chicken. Im sure it is good but if I visit Desi Wok I ALWAYS order my favorites! Why mess with a great thing?

Went in for lunch and received flavorful sauce but no vegetables. Meal lacked flavor and was a huge disappointment (especially for $34 for two people. Tiki Masala sauce with paneer. Came with paneer chunks and sauce. Nothing else. Very odd. I know indian food and I've never seen anything like it before. Raita was good with nice cucumber taste. Saag wasn't bad at all. Ordering was a bit more complicated than it should have been. The restaurant felt like I was sitting at a fast food dining room. To their credit when I asked if I could buy vegetables to add to my meal they did give me some. Had I ordered this to go and got home to just paneer and sauce I would have been really angry for a crummy meal. If you've had Taste of India brand curry then you can say you've had their Tiki Masala sauce. Tasted the same.

  • Julie J.

What do you do when you get home with the worst hummus ever? I don't know because I tried everything to add flavor and the right consistency to the hummus I paid more than $2 for at Desi Wok. The rest of the food was very good but whomever is making the hummus needs to drop by a Lebanese restaurant and ask them the secret to great hummus.

  • Bill W.

Because I have friends who go here I have given this place several chances over the years, but enough is enough. Each time the food has been even worse than before. I've tried Desi Wok's "Asian" and "Indian" offerings, and all were equally awful. None of the dishes I've ordered bear even the slightest resemblance to their namesakes. The so-called curry was utterly devoid of flavor and spice, and was made with frozen veggies. Plus it was obviously cooked in a microwave. The samosas were dry and bland, as if filled with baby food. My dining companion and I were hungry when we went in but left most of the food on the table. In fairness, the naan was OK, but with nothing edible to go with it...

  • Amanda M.

I had no idea this place was local. It was a lovely little happy surprise! Like the last reviewer, I tried the Tikka Masala just because it's one of those "you have to try it" dishes. Aaaaand it really is! I got it with chicken. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken... it was a little dry, but the sauce was awesome! I'm also a fan of noodles instead of rice, but the noodles were very thin and not what I was expecting. HOWEVER! The Tikka Masala sauce was SO GOOD and the naan (sp?) was incredible with it. I'd recommend just getting extra naan (like my friend) and eating the dish with that. It was really really good. And I'll definitely come back!!! nom nom nom more please

I really want to like this place. I LOVE Indian food and theirs is decent. After going their many times I got some to go and my husband cut into his chicken and it was completely raw inside. That is a serious mistake and also disgusting and dangerous. I'm not sure that I'll ever be going back there.

I started eating Indian food while living in Boston. When I visited my family in Tulsa I asked some of my friends where to get Indian food in Tulsa. They said Desi Wok is the best. I walked in and noticed it was very different than all of the Indian places I was eating at in Boston. Here, you walk up to the counter and order your food, fill up your cup and then sit at a table and your food will be out shortly. All of the Indian restaurants I eat at in Boston are very fancy with fine china and stemware glasses. Desi Wok is not fancy but it doesn't have a fancy price tag either. I got the chicken tikka masala and paid half the price I would anywhere in Boston. The food was just as excellent as any other Indian place I have been to. I like paying just for the good food rather than good food and extra for a fancy atmosphere and service. I have since been back several times.

I really enjoyed my meal at Design Wok, though it wasn't at all spicy. I did get the mild, though, expecting it to be very hot, being Indian food. The prices are very reasonable and they give you a large portion, especially for the price. I'd definitely go back.

We went here all the time when we lived in Tulsa. The tikka masala is always a safe bet, and I get it with paneer. The food is reasonably priced, service is quick, and I always have leftovers.

I can't speak to its authenticity, but the Chicken Tikka Masala (I order it hot) at Desi is the best I've ever had. I love that it's one of the few Indian places I've found in Oklahoma that's not a buffet. The chicken spring rolls and naan are great as well. One of my favorite spots for take out. I always make a point to go by when I'm in Tulsa for a visit!

  • Mary M.

Desi wok was jammed and there were no parking places to be found, a good sign for a restaurant. The smells coming out of the door were amazing. It does have plain Jane decor--nothing to write home about. You place your order and they bring it to the table. Portion sizes were good. Chicken tikka masala was tasty as was the curry. It isn't fine dini g, but it is great tasting, filling, give me more comfort food.

  • Jess R.

This is one of my go-to places. I probably go an average of 3 times a month. The first two times I went there, I did not have the Tikka Masala and thought the place was so-so. The third time I had the Tikka Masala and I've never gotten anything since. I get it with veggies, medium spice. It comes with a huge helping of rice and a gigantic piece of naan. Although it is a lot of food and I can't finish the rice and the naan, I give it only four stars because I think $9 is a little too much to pay for fast food (although they do bring it to the table for you) that is just veggies, sauce and carbs. But I'll keep payin' it because it makes my mouth water just writing about it.

Desiwok, is a Indian and Asian restaurant all in one. While the restaurant doesn't have much decor, the random Formica Blue Marble, bizarre tiles and wood with red vinyl cushions are probably just the owner saying "Thats the best I had for you". While the restaurant is laid out kinda goofy, the food and service are what you come here for. I usually get the Chicken Tikka Masala. The best way to describe Tikka Masala is like a tomato, spiced gravy sauce with marinated chicken. The dish is served with long grain rice and their own home made Naan. The great thing about Desiwok is you can build your dish how you want it. You can pick from beef, chicken, and vegetables or any combination of them. Also you pick how spicy you want your dish with Mild, Medium and Hot. I have had mine Medium before and I got a horrific case of the hiccups. So I stick with the Mild and enjoy the flavor of my dish. yelp.com/biz_photos/KePM… Its hard to describe indian food, because there is really nothing like it. The creamy sauce with the marinated chicken is extremely flavorful. You taste so many spices you aren't used to. The Naan here is bad ass. Naan is a grilled flat bread generally made from white flour. So after you finished inhaling your dish you can milk up the left over sauce with the Naan. The Chicken Saag is also fantastic. This is a creamy spinach sauce with a onslaught of spices. Delicious. yelp.com/biz_photos/KePM… While I haven't had the Asian food from here yet, this has to be the best Indian food in Tulsa. Damn Good! This is a must try for any Tulsan.

A culinary disaster. DesiWok brands itself as a "casual Asian diner." Upon reading this on the sign outside, my tastebuds immediately grew a bit apprehensive -- that kind of self-descriptive language is generally reserved to the Pei Weis (and other similar shrines to mediocrity) of the world. I went with the chili chicken (one of those dishes that epitomize Indo-Chinese cuisine), served with your choice of rice or noodles. With tax and a beverage (free refills from the fountain), my total came out to over $10. I took a number and found a seat, after which they quickly brought out my order. Now this was some vile-looking chili chicken: slimy and absolutely swimming in some sort of translucent and goopy sauce. And the flavor? Talk about bland. Tasteless chunks of overly tough chicken and onion. I went with the "mild" on their mild-medium-hot scale, but I tasted almost no heat at all. I struggled to get through maybe half of my dish, but I eventually gave up. I've had great Chinese, great Indian, and great Indo-Chinese. The food here is none of those.

  • Puja L.

Why are some of my favorite Indian places in Oklahoma?! The food here was good, not necessarily among the best Indian chinese food I've had. BUT - for some reason, we don't have any Indian chinese restaurants where I live in Maryland...so I am still definitely a fan of this place!

I'm a little confused as to what exactly influenced the other reviewers to praise this place. I'm sorry, its a disgrace to Indian Asian fusion. We ordered the Manchurian, Chicken Tikka Masala, the Vindaloo, and the Manchao soup. The Manchao soup was good, everything else was disaster. Way too watery, not enough spice and flavor, the Manchurian is honestly nothing near what typical Manchurian should be. The chicken that was in there were pretty tiny pieces. The so called "Cumin Rice" literally had 4 seeds of cumin in it in a plateful of a batch. The rice seemed like it was leftover from another day, aka, clumpy and dried up. Even the Naan had no flavor whatsoever, and tasted like that was microwaved, no crisp and way too soft. Take it from someone's whose had good fusion food, this is not worth getting.

I had a craving for some Indian food and I remembered wanting to try Desi Wok and so off I went. I decided to get a to-go order so I can't comment on the dining room. I walked in and immediately saw a huge menu board. There were other Asian foods offered but I just wanted something Indian. Of course my favorite dish is Tikka Masala with chicken so I placed an order. The Tikka Masala was pretty good. It was flavorful and hearty just like I like it. The pieces of all-white meat chicken were tender and plentiful. I personally prefer dark meat but I was happy with it. The rice was OK. I have had better but they offered a decent amount for this kind of order. The naan bread was a good size and not too dry or brittle. I used every bit of it to scoop up as much sauce as I could. Needless to say I devoured this meal. I don't know if it was because I was super hungry or that the food was just that good. Either way, I was satisfied and that is the most important thing to me. I will be sure to put Desi Wok into my rotation and go back as often as I can.

Ok.. so reading the rave reviews here, I head there hoping to have a good culinary experience. I love Indian food... normally. So I get there and try to figure out what kind of order/seating arrangement I faced.. maybe I was slow on that day but I was a little confused, especially when I was told to grab my drink myself, walking behind the order counter, to the fridge and picking out my beverage... nice! But this is about food.. and where DesiWok failed was on the staples... the rice and the naan bread. I had the Chicken Tandoor Plate. The chicken was nicely cooked and plentiful, there was a cup of Masala sauce in the middle that was nice but not flavorful enough for me (lacked a kick..) the basmati rice that should be fragrant was dry and frankly, tasteless! Now one of my favorite things to have at an indian restaurant is the Naan bread.. and that one was just dreadful.. i've had store-bought saran-wrapped Naan that was better than that! What a disappointment...

Desi Wok has gone through some changes recently. There has been some redesign of the restaurant, and portions appear to be smaller. One dish is no longer "plenty" for two people (see other review). The quality is fine. If you are looking for Indian-Like food, Desi Wok is not a bad choice.

  • Maggie A.

Yah, it's really pretty good. I like the idea that you can mix and match 6 ways to Tuesday with meat/veggie/tofu choices coupled up with sauce choices (and I'm just thinking of the Indian side of the menu). I like that they have an online menu so that you can sort of get an idea of what they have going on over there. I like that the food was really pretty decent and tasty overall, even if it wasn't the best Indian I've ever had in my life (I doubt I'll find that anywhere in Tulsa, but Desi Wok really does do pretty OK). I like that the prices aren't too bad. I was a little thrown off by the drink station area. It was kind of behind the counter. I wasn't sure I could go back there. You can. I need to go more often. Try a few more things. Come back to Yelp it some more.

Love most of the Indian entrees (saag, khorma, tikka masala, biryani) and appetizers (lollipop wings, samosas). I haven't tried the Asian side of the menu.

Jeff H. took me to this super delicious place today for lunch. It was my second time in 3 years, and I'm furious with myself for all the opportunities I've let go by. I want to eat here at least once a week. It was so good I'm glad I have leftovers to eat for dinner. The chicken was tender and tasty- the vegetables crisp- the rice perfect. The sauce was the perfect amount, not too much, but not so little I can't dip the pita-esque bread it came with in it. Topped off with a little Mountain Dew? I can't imagine a better meal. I can't wait to go again tomorrow.

The food here is decent. Good for Tulsa, would be just mediocre in another city. It's on the bland side. Next time I go I'm going to ask if they can make it hotter. The menu is strange. They really should stick to just Indian. The "Asian" side of the menu is random and not very good. I've been twice for takeout, and both times I got home and one of our dishes (something big, like a curry, not inconsequential) was missing. Lesson learned: always check the contents before leaving the parking lot. Twice out of two times isn't encouraging. I wouldn't take that Indian people eat there as a sign of anything other than the scarcity of Indian restaurants in Tulsa.

I was craving Indian food, saw the reviews and gave it a shot. Huge portions but the food was just so so. Menu is odd service was good. Did try the Chicken Tikka Masala It was just ok. I eat Indian food a lot in Chicago and up north. I probably will not be back as it wasn't near as good as I'm used to eating. Maybe it was just a bad night.

Probably my favorite restaurant period. I love all kinds of Indian food, but I can't stop ordering their Chicken Tikka Masala because I can't find a place that serves it better, and I can't replicate it at home! As a bonus, if everyone you know is a wuss that doesn't like to try new things, Desi Wok serves Chinese food too (inexplicably), so they can eat some noodles or sweet and sour chicken while you chow down on some Vindaloo or what have you. But seriously, try their Tikka Masala.

Yep, stick to the Indian food here. Others have raved about the Tikka Masala, which is awesome, so I'll go ahead and stick up for the Chicken Khorma (another creamy dish) and the Lamb Vindaloo which is what I usually get there. For those of you worried about it being bland, it's a little known fact that they have 5 spiciness levels (mild/medium/hot/extra mild/extra hot) though. As a spicy food afficionado, I ordered the "extra hot" Vindaloo confidently a couple months back and was shocked to find that I could barely eat it--full sweat on lip, runny nose, histamine reaction we all love so much (you know who you are!). Awesome! I do agree with the reviewer who said that there is better Indian food in other larger cities, but for Tulsa, there is no better place.

I love Indian food when it's done right, and not swimming in Ghee. Desiwok has a wonderful eclectic menu, and everything is done perfectly from scratch. I always get the chicken tikka plate, and I swear it gets better every time. HUGE boneless chicken pieces done tandori style served over basmatic rice with sliced vegetables, naan, and tikka sauce. I always get a little container of tamarand sauce too. The chicken is so tender and spiced wonderfully. Nothing is ever too salty, and they give you enough for 2 meals. This is a rare Tulsa gem.

When Desi Wok opened, the food was great. I liked their Chicken lollipop which was made very similar to what I have been used to eating in Bombay. After that the management changed a few years ago, and I have tried Chicken lollipop three times and was a big disappointment all the three times. I don't think I will go there again.

My husband & I spotted this place just driving by and what a find! We went on a Sat. night. The place was crowded. Seemed like regulars. It's just been a couple of weeks, but I've been back twice already. It's my new favorite. On our first visit, at the order taker's recommendation, we both ordered the Tikka Masala with chicken & rice, mine mild, his medium. He said his had a little kick to it. Mine was PERFECT. Flavor was to die for, portions were generous with two large pieces of naan on the side. Service was impeccable. On my second trip, I took a friend, who is a meat & potatoes girl and she loved it also. The third time, I popped in solo for a mid-afternoon lunch. All three times, I ordered the same thing because it is so good and filling. There's enough in one order of Tikka Masala to share. And then you'll have room for the mango pie, which was so yummy and refreshing. I can't believe DesiWok has been in Tulsa for seven years and has alluded me. I'll be making up for lost time! And they're open late - till 10:00 - a rarity in a town, where many sidewalks roll up @ 9.

Not good Indian food. Everything was watered down but pricy for what you get. The chicken Tikka was not cooked in a tandor oven or with the proper spices that I could tell. The sauce was thin and had a sour bite. The Lamb Saag a bit better. The spinach was fair.

DesiWok offers some great Indian and Asian food in enormous portions at very reasonable prices. This has become one of our "go to" restaurants. I always want to branch out and try something other than the chicken tikka masala, but it is so delicious I just can't. You can choose 3 different spice levels to suit your palate - mild, medium and hot. I get the medium and it is just right for me - spicy, but not TOO spicy to eat. I order mine with chicken and vegetables, which includes carrots, potatoes, peas, green beans, etc. The rice and naan are always well done. My wife loves their "desi combo" dish which is a huge portion of fried rice with noodles, chicken and vegetables. It can also be done sans meat. You shouldn't go to DesiWok expecting great atmosphere and elegant surroundings (you order at the counter and then they bring the food to you), but if you're looking for some great Indian and/or Asian food at reasonable prices, you should definitely give it a try.

Tasty and cheap indian food. If you've had the Tikka Masala then you already know and are planning to come back for more. The indian food is soooo good its hard to even contemplate getting anything off the "other side" of the menu. They offer other asian dishes as well.

Pretty good, the food reminds me of "CoCo's Curry" restaurant in Asia.

One of the few Asian-Indian joints in town. Desi has a casual setting. I've had the main Indian dishes Tikki Masala and Malai Kofta. Both are good, however the wait is a bit much during the lunch hour.

I love Indian food and when I was in NYC, I used to have it all the time. I didn't think I was going to have any luck in Tulsa. But then I found DesiWok. I have no idea why they serve both Indian and Asian/Chinese food. I stick to the Indian and when I've ordered takeout from them, I always see Indian people eating there... always a good sign. It's convenient to where I live (across from the Promenade Mall on 41st) and I call ahead for takeout. The chicken tikki masala is my favorite with samosa to start. Yummmmm... my mouth is watering just thinking about it. And it's a great value - I never spend more than $10-$15 for dinner...

My parents visited here based on the information I got off the iPhone yelp widget. They had the Tikka Masala and the Korma, and were really impressed. And they'll actually make it hot (spicy), unlike a lot of Indian restaurants. Don't be scared off by the Chinese food on the menu.
