The Pollo del Mar is good combination of chicken & seafood. Grilled chicken breast & shrimp, zucchini & squash, along with cilantro lime rice & spicy papas as my sides. The quest added goodness to the meal as well. I really enjoyed the sides, especially the papas. I also tried their Rum Punch. 3 different rums, along with pineapple & other juices. They service was good, I liked my waitress. She always made sure things went well. Prices were very reasonable.

Upon my first visit to this place several days ago, I can honestly say this place is dying a slow death. Upon entry, it appears unkempt and dingy. There are maybe 2 people actually working. All the other employees were either sitting at the bar chatting it up with the manager (who looked a mess, by the way, and didn't bother to acknowledge any patrons except a couple of drunk regulars who knew her by name), or trotting around with wife beaters on and playing in the wait station/rolling silverware. Shanna (sp?) served us at a the bar. She was very responsive and pleasant. It was a shame to watch her bartend, wait tables and clean while everyone else sat on their asses. I decided to go simple, given the current lay of the land, and just ordered nachos. They were just meh.....but the drinks were cheap and strong, and for that I will give them another star. I have 3 recommendations: 1. The owner ABSOLUTELY needs to put surveillance cameras in. I have no doubt in my mind that this crew is helping themselves to food and liquor after closing time. 2. Give Shanna a promotion--it was clear by watching her in action that she could whip these ingrates into shape if she had the authority. Oh, and fire the manager. She constantly played on her phone and ran her mouth at the bar, only stopping to make sure her boyfriend got his free meal when he showed up 3. Call Bar Rescue IMMEDIATELY--You will be in the red or closed in no time if someone doesn't get ahold of this abomination soon!!

Good food, particularly like the Pollo del Mar. Huge margaritas, too

Visiting Tulsa decided to try this place . Service was pretty bad . Silverware were tossed at us. Servers were very inattentive. The food was cold the tortillas especially. We had to ask multiple times for sides that were missing. A bad experience over all

This is one of our go-to Mexican restaurants. They serve, in my opinion, the best margarita in town. The food is traditional Tex-Mex. I recommend the spicy papas-A spicy mashed potato. On our most recent visit, there was a wait (there usually isn't) so we sat at the bar. We got great service and everyone was really friendly.

Visited during lunch, fast easy in and easy out. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. Lunch specials include a drink and were reasonably priced.

The chips and salsa are just okay, not bad, just not a favorite. I do, however LOVE the Pollo con Chorizo. It's one of the only things I get here and it's delicious. The wait, however is sometimes not worth it. The staff is inattentive and we had to wait excruciatingly long for our queso. Fifteen minutes and our waiter comes to take our order, still no queso. We asked about it and were told that he had tripped, spilling it all over the floor and himself. He was spotless. Got our order and said he's come back with the queso. Meal there. No queso. Needless to say we weren't very happy, but didn't mention it again. We both ordered frozen margaritas and were brought one margarita and one frozen and the waiter left before we could mention it. Disappears again for ten minutes or so and we flag him. He took the untouched margarita, picked up a frozen (but melted at this point) margarita that he had sat at an empty table, put it in front of me and the regular margarita was given to a customer at another table! I was beyond fed up at this point and that was just the icing on the cake. Won't be going back again. No more chances.

Used to be a great place, the problem is the same thing that happens to a lot of successful restaurants. Raise the price, lower the food quality, and water down the margaritas. We used to go on Thursdays for their fajita special and have to wait on a table, last time we went empty tables were everywhere and I see why. Just wasn't the same, we won't be going back. Still better than Ricardo's!

A friend and I went for lunch on Monday. The place was nearly empty and we still had to wait to be seated by a woman who had been sitting with other customers. Then we were given a table by the bar and had to wait for the bartender to come over to wait on us. She took our drink order and then stopped back by the bar to take a to-go order (we know because we could hear her talking). When she finished, she brought our iced teas to us. We placed our orders and she walked away mumbling. I unrolled my silverware out of its paper napkin and there was dried food on both the knife and fork. I didn't feel like waiting for the bartender, so I retrieved my own silverware from their service station. Our food arrived within a few minutes. However, their lunch menu should be called a kid's menu as our plates were very small. My enchiladas were small and flavorless, even with "queso" all over them. The rice and beans were bland too. My friend had their tacos with the same experience. We both finished our plates within minutes and left hungry. In closing, if you are looking for an overpriced place to eat lunch with small, flavorless food portions, unsanitary utensils, and unpleasant staff, you have found it!

This is one of our regular go-to places for Mexican food. I love the view from the dining room. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. They have creative menu items that are a little different from other Mexican places. I love Camarones a La Diablo, but I'm not sure it is still on the menu. There is plenty else to choose from. My next favorite is spinach enchiladas. The queso is possibly the best I've had.

Decent food and great service. There was a long weight for our meal but the staff made up for it by making it half price.

In Oklahoma, restaurants seem to be rated by quantity rather than quality. This is one of them and I doubt if they would deny it because it is a formula that works. Our service was great and they seem to really care about getting you fed and on your way. But really, the food is about the same quality as a frozen dinner. Very high energy, lots of kids, and lots of energy noise. Probably great for a certain crowd, didn't work for me. I think they have a good business model and only want to help people that are trying to decide between volume and flavor. Great volume for a great price. Many salsas and they are quick to bring them, just ask. I think they had a 2 dollar margarita or something like that.

My fajita burrito had overcooked chicken and a bone in a piece of chicken. Slightly choking me. The margarita was good though.

The place gives you a ton of food for what you pay and most of it is relatively decent. Probably more suited for college kids or families than anyone looking for really good Mexican food.

With 5 people it took over 45 minutes to get a table while groups with less were in in 5 minutes or less. When asked why we were getting passed up, the reply was they needed 2 tables to push together. The food was typical Tex Mex. I tried the camarones a la diabla which was the first I ever had with a full sliced raw onion mixed in. Not that great.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
