What an awesome place to eat. Its good food and good service. They have great steak, fries and chicken and the cheese bites are awesome. I love cheddars we don't get to go often but when we do we never leave hungry and all for allot less then other places like applebees, chilis ext. You will have a wait if you go at prime times but it is worth it because they always have good good and great prices. Once i talked to the manager of the store and asked how they are always so busy when others are not. He said cheddars goal is they always evaluate how they can keep costs low and food quality and portions high. They look at everything from making sure they have little waste to electric bills to all other costs. He said we do this all the time and we work hard to make sure if there is waste somewhere or something that can save money so that our quality, price and portions can stay the same we will do it. Then he said sometimes we do have to raise costs and if we do we do it with as little raise as possible. He said all other restaurants are always looking at the dollar not the customer. that most others are always looking to cut costs and raise prices to make more money. That is very true as over the years of eating at other major chains such as outback, Applebees, and others i have seen prices go up and portions or quality go down. I love cheddars and of all the places i have eaten it is by far the best.

A favorite when I'm in Tulsa, this Cheddar's is one of my favorites of the entire chain. The staff is friendly, food is tasty and atmosphere is lively. Very reasonably-priced, the menu favorites are spinach dip as an appetizer and the Monte Cristo sandwich for the entrée. Our waitress had a charming nonchalance and took each of our drink and entrée orders by memory (we had a party of five). The spinach dip is fantastically creamy, topped with melted cheese and sour cream. The tortilla chip that accompanied were extremely greasy and were much too few for the actual appetizer. We had to ask for a refill of chips to finish off the dip. The Monte Cristo, while high in caloric value, is a delightful treat that pairs well with an "I'm starting tomorrow" diet plan. My only complaint is the horrid condition of the restrooms. We were having an early lunch (appx. 11:30a) but the men's restroom was disgusting. The small, cramped area was layered in fluids. Overall, Cheddars in Tulsa is a good atmosphere and tasty food at a good value.

Was a good dining experience. We will be back! Son had New Orleans pasta, hubby had steakhouse burger, and I had the monte cristo. Monte cristo was flavorful but a slight bit greasy on bottom. Sons blackened pasta was full flavored and delicious. Hubby's only complaint about burger was there were no onion rings unless you ordered an appetizer. Overall, with margarita, chip and queso appetizer, and those three meals, plus the onion rings as an appetizer were just 42.00, for everything. Only complaint was even though service was nice, it was a bit slow.

Incredible food at affordable prices. Not our first time to Cheddar's but this experience reminded me why we love this place so much. Each plate has large portion sizes, and the prices make it worth it. My husband loves the queso appetizer because you can choose to add meat in it. They also have a "lighter portion" on their menu with selections under 575 calories. Not to mention their bar selection is great! They have large margaritas for $3.00. What more could you ask for?

Service was not great on our most recent trip to Cheddars. Our waitress was only around sporadically. I was also disappointed to find that they no longer offer carrots as one of their side items, as that was my favorite side.

Great food and great prices. Tulsa really needs a 2nd Cheddar's. It's always extremely busy and you have to wait for seating. The spinach dip is 2nd to none!

Love their spinach dip. It's a must order when my girlfriends and I go there. Though sometimes the wait can be a while during dinner service, the atmosphere and customer service is excellent.

Worst part of Cheddars is the wait. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, you should just expect it. Usually tells you they are doing something right. This has been a favorite of my family for a long time now. The spinach dip is awesome. We always start with this. From there I have tried quite a few things off of their menu and don't recall being disappointed. I usually get the grilled salmon with their sweet wonderful carrots on the side. Sometimes I go for the bowl of baked potato soup which is excellent. My children love the chicken. One of them orders the grilled chicken and the others get the fried chicken strips. We will be back again.

Always a reliable place to dine. Good service and overall good food. Excellent chicken tenders!! Very popular though no matter what day of the week it is. I always try and get there right when it opens at 11 or 10:30 on Sundays.

This our go to place! We've been coming sense it opened. It's known for good American fare and good service. We've had just about everything on the menu. But the following are our favorites: Chicken tender platter regular or buffalo style, is a great choice, big portion and tasty sides. The bourbon glazed salmon, really good dish, a perfect sauce for salmon. The Monte Cristo sandwich is a great choice, very well made and a awesome attempt at a classic. The buffalo chicken wrapper is a good filling meal with some kick, although the first sauce they came out with a few years ago was my favorite but they have sense toned it down to milder sauce. The steak and ribs are status quo but you won't be disappointed if you order this. I highly recommend visiting Cheddars

I had a business lunch here today and the food was outstanding, the price was very reasonable, and the wait staff did an outstanding job following up just enough to be helpful but so much to be annoying. Kept our drinks filled on a regular basis, got the order perfectly correct, and the the ribeye steak I got would melt in your mouth tender. The onion ring appetizer was a large portion and very tasty. My partner had the Salmon and was delicious as well. I highly recommend the "Honey Butter Croissants" those things ROCK!!!! I could have just eaten several plates of those things.

No brainer. Quick and inexpensive. The spinach dip is the best. Portions are huge so split something and get an appetizer!

We have been coming to Cheddars for years and I can't ever remember any of my family or myself being disappointed with anything off the menu. Being that I pretty much gave up on Fridays, Chili's and Applebees a while back due to the lackluster food and drinks; Cheddars is the perfect alternative for such a place. The menu is simple and everything on it that we have tried is great. Yes, the food does take longer than normal, but the wait is not over excessive. I happened to order a magarita this time while waiting on the food. Wow it was huge and one of the best I've had in a very long time, for less than $5. After several visits, I can't think of any reasons from my experience not to give a five star rating here. The negative is there is only one location in the area.

We came in on a Thursday night, it wasn't extremely busy. The server forgot to bring us our appetizer, even though the management took it off our ticket it was still a let down. My husband ordered shrimp and had more shell than meat. My steak was rare when I ordered medium. Then to top the night off we weren't given a Military discount only because I wasn't in uniform. (Even though I'm prior service) We won't be back

Cheddars has always been one of my favorites! We decided to sit outside because we could be seated right away. It was nice but the only downside to it was the sugar ants all around our table so we decided to pick up and move. Our server was very understanding and did a great job. The margaritas were fabulous. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with red beans and rice(my favorite) and my honey had the fish tacos. Great place for a casual night out. Cheddars won't ever let ya down!

I was in town for a work thing. Someone suggested we go here for dinner since it had a variety of items on the menu for people to choose from...The place was packed! And it was a Monday night, too! We were a group of 12 and we were willing to split up into 2 tables. They told us the wait was half an hour. We were seated promptly within that half an hour and right next to each other in booths. The groups had 2 different servers but both were awesome! And willing to give us each separate checks! :) (For expenses and such...) Drinks were refilled and we were checked on often enough. I had to try the Baked Spasagna just because it sounded neat! LOL! So it is spaghetti and meat sauce that is shaped into a rectangle a la lasagna and then topped with cheese and baked. So yummy!! Overall, a great experience!

  • Tara K.

This place is new or something because it's always packed!! Not sure why because it's nothing to brag home about. Your average food in the same class as Chilis, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday, etc. Service was great though.

Was visiting my family and they bought me here. Good portions and strong drinks. I left my phone and they saved it for me, which was cool.

Cheddars is the place to go for good cooking and reasonable prices; however, expect a wait if you go during prime hours. The menu includes chicken, salmon, ribs, and steak, as well as salads and soups. Service is fast as they have to move everyone through quickly! Don't expect to stay long during prime hours either. You will feel pressured to leave! It's also fairy noisy. However, it's one of my go-to places for a good meal when I don't want to spend a lot of money and I don't want to have a conversation! This time was a good visit. Our food was good and the service was reasonalble.

I have eaten at Cheddar's several times and it is just one of those places that is hit or miss. Sometimes the planets align and you can get a pretty great meal. However, the opposite is also true. Food consistency is unreliable and the same can be said about the service. This last particular meal was lacking in both food quality and service. We arrived at lunch and were seated immediately. A server spoke with us and started to get our order only to get interrupted and get into an awkward argument with another server about why our table should have been hers. After the dispute continued for a couple of minutes, a manager came over to break things up. Once the argument was settled and we were given a new server, we then had to reorder with the new server. I don't really understand the reasoning behind the fight though because the server who took over our table didn't seem at all like she cared to be waiting on us. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Fries and my girlfriend ordered Grilled Chicken Alfredo. We also split an order of Spinach Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. Our appetizer came out quickly and sadly was the best part of our experience. Our entree orders seemed to take a long time to get to us despite the fact that the restaurant was not very busy. Once our meals did arrive, we were both underwhelmed with the food we received. My Philly Cheesesteak was adequate, but not anything I would come back for, and my fries were cold. The Alfredo my girlfriend received was also cold and really had no flavor. Once our food was dropped off, our server never came back to our table to check on us or refill our drinks. I finally had to ask another server (the one who initially tried to take our table) to bring our check so we could leave. All things considered, I hate to give a 1 star rating because I have had good meals at Cheddar's before, but this particular experience was not good. It will be a long time before I go back, if ever.

When I was but a boy, I recall the majestic opening of Cheddars. You see, this was before we had the massively developed chain of restaurants on 71st. It's hard to recall but this seemed to be one of the originals on the east end of South Tulsa's retail and restaurant stretch. I've been here more times that I can count, sometimes taking the boring route toward chicken fingers... Other times opting for spinach dip or a sandwich or salad or a burger. Nothing on the menu is particularly adventurous or worth stopping the presses for- but it's consistent and good food. And when I say food, it should be noted that you get A LOT of food. You're often faced with a mountain of cheese fries or a small army's share of burger. So always expect to leave with leftovers. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Aside from an awkwardly designed men's room, I can't think of anything I'd change. Try the broccoli cheese casserole- it's a side that deserves recognition all on its own. The french fries I alluded to earlier are amazing and consistently seasoned and warm (I feel a list coming on: Best French Fries...) In short: Cheddars is good food that is great for when you have a group going out to he movies and you want somewhere that everyone will find something to hit the spot.

I had the chicken pot pie and thought I had died went to pot pie heaven! The crust was golden, baked to perfection and flaky. It had a slightly buttery taste that melted in your mouth. The vegetables tasted fresh and they had a crispness mixed in with that decadently delicious sauce with every bite. The chicken was in large chunks and overall I think this was the best meal I had ever eaten in my life! The serving staff was polite, eager to serve, and comfortable to be around. The latter is an important plus with me. We left a generous gratuity and plan on going there again and mentioning and recommending this place to all of our friends. The apple pie for dessert was merely wonderful being ala mode and was honestly baked with the most delicious mix of apples (had of have been macintosh and granny smiths) and there was a fun little drizzle of caramel. If your looking for good places to dine, Cheddars is the best place in Tulsa! There is an occasional wait to be served and seated but WELL WORTH IT!!!!!!! I'd also like to mention they are very clean, smells wonderful just to sit there and wait on your food, and the atmosphere is very nice.

Used to be my favorite restaurant, good food, good atmosphere. One day, however, I had some (apparently) bad baked catfish. I threw up for the next 12 hours. I emailed Cheddar's corporate office through their website and complained, and I never received a response of any kind.

Placed a to go order - was extremely disappointed that there is NO to go parking. Restaurant was very busy and I was required to park in the movie theater parking lot to get my food. As a woman traveling alone, I called the store and cancelled my order. My safety is more valuable than eating here.

LOVE Cheddar's! Always packed, and because of that the service can be slow depending on who is serving you, but the food is cheap and good so i'll keep coming back! I can't get away from the Chicken Tenders! I've tried other things on the menu but I keep coming back to them! Gimme a basket of crispy Chicken Tenders and some of Cheddar's tangy honey mustard and i'm in heaven! I always get the Chicken Tender basket, found in the appetizer section, b/c it comes with fries and it's a *slightly* smaller portion that the Chicken Tender Platter. All of the salads come with these awesome honey croissants - you can order them by themselves too....get some! So fluffy and good! Cheddar's used to have these amazing, fattening, cheesy waffle fries called 'Idaho Nachos'. They really need to bring them back! It was a huge pile of waffle fries covered in melted shredded cheese, seasoned ground beef, jalapenos, onions, and sour cream....mmmm! Anyway, back to what they actually have! The drinks are pretty good, and the prices aren't too bad. Mudslides and banana daquiris....mmm! Not together though.... Don't get a burger if you can help it. They used to have fresh meat patties, but now they use frozen patties....you CAN taste a difference.

It's your typical American fast-food grill type of place (along the lines of Chili's, Applebee's, etc) but they do it better than anyone else in town. The only thing that stops me from eating here more often is its popularity oddly enough. Even at off hours it's packed. During prime hours there is always a line out the door.

I always am down to eat at Cheddars, even though I always get the same thing and am not really interested in anything else. It seems like this place is always packed and depending on what time you are go you could be waiting about 30+ minutes for a table. Cheddars has good quality food for an inexpensive price. You also get good sized portions of food. The service is always pretty good here. I always get the Chicken Tender Platter for like $7.29. It is piled high with about 7 giant tenders. You also get 2 sides with this. The Chicken Tenders have a tasty breading on them and the chicken is always white meat and very tender. The are pretty awesome. yelp.com/biz_photos/OrV-… All the sides here are pretty good as well. The appetizers are all pretty good. I like Cheddars, and its worth a visit.

Voting 5 to negate Alexandria's review. Alexandria you snobby little thing you, do you not have a past? Do you not have something that you've done in the past that reflected negatively on you? Would you like others to point any of your past errors on a review site and mention your full name? Drug test... at a restaurant? Are you high? No they don't drug test because they are trying to find people who can cope with people like you and actually try and be nice to them and serve them. So while this waitress was busting her butt actually having a job and working below minimum wage relying solely on tips you were in the corner digging through a paper judging her on her past. Kudos. Please from now on any restaurant that you walk into ask to talk to the manager first and make SURE they drug test. If not, please walk out. Have fun actually cooking your own meals. Meanwhile, the next time I'm in this Cheddars I will ask to sit in Lindsay's section. I will tip probably 25 to 30 percent. And I will hope against hope that for at least a week that she doesn't get a customer like you. Also fyi the baked potato soup at Cheddars is THE BOMB. Just so you know. Cheers! edit: HAHAHAHAA Ok this 5 goes out to you too Ann. Really? Everything was great but the salad had ICEBURG!!!!! OMGOSH!!!! 2 STARS!!!! Honestly? It's a chain restaurant, iceburg is green, do the math. Protip, next time order a Caesar salad, those always come with romaine. lmbo. NOOOOO ICEBURG!!!! hahahaha.

  • Ann L.

While the drinks are good, the servers friendly, and the atmosphere nice, nothing ever makes me angrier than a restaurant salad that has iceberg lettuce. Like, cmon, just throw in some romaine or spinach, please. Don't write "bed of greens" on your menu and give me white leaves with no nutritional value whatsoever.

About the restaurant: I've never been unimpressed. They have an amazing drink menu with cheap cocktails so A+ in my book! I've had many things to eat here and the food always comes out hot, fresh, and exactly as I ordered it. It's a cheap chain restaurant though. Nothing to give 5 stars. Love your review Jason! It's true. I grew up in the restaurant industry with my grandfather having restaurants my entire life. You can NOT hire the best of help. It's a restaurant where you have college kids or people who don't want to do anything else in their spare time. It is what it is, Im just glad that people are willing to wait on me so I don't have to cook the food. Also, I've spent many a hangover waiting tables and two thumbs up to a girl who can go out, party, be a little high, get thrown in jail and STILL manage to get to work b/c most people with NO excuses still can't seem to get to work.

My sweetheart and I went to Cheddars around 10 pm one night and were pleasantly surprised how much we really liked the place. Open late on weekends and very nicely designed with stone, wood and upscale touches. The menu was quite extensive and varied and the prices very reasonable for Tulsa. We had some kinda drink concoction, multicolored frozen thingy that had a cactus shooter...excellent. Maui Margarita, I think. I had ribs and shrimp with string beans and cheese casserole. Ribs were a tad bit burnt but with their delicious sauce, I gobbled 'em up anyway! Shrimp were perfectly breaded, very tasty and cooked just right. I love ole fashioned southern string beans that have been cooked to death on the stovetop and I got them just like my aunt Bessy used to make, God rest her soul. Cheese casserole very good too. The Danish had a New Orleans pasta that I swear was just as good if not better that the Louisiana pasta at twice the price down the road at Cheesecake Factory. Shrimp cooked a delicious cajun spice cream sauce that was so large we took home half of it for another side dish. Anyway, this is a small chain but I gotta say a darn good one and we will definitely be back! 4/30/2011 Return visit not so entralled. For appitizer, we got some kinda loaded potato wedge thingys, were covered with cheese and bacon, you dip in sour cream or dressing.GOOD. The Texas Tea was fne but prefer the Maui Mango Margarita much better. This time I had the pasta and although tasty, seemed too heavy and rich, shrimp were not cooked enough either. Should have gotten the excellent looking Fried Catfish, next time. Dane had the spagetti lazagna that he said was just average. Finsihed off with a chocolate chip cookie a la mode with hot fudge that wasnt so hot. Screaming children at the next table throwing food on the floor, booths that are not properly fastened so when the table next to you moves, you move with them! Lights were shining right in our eyes, we asked them to be dimmed but this never happened....oh well, we'll still go back, we like this very reasonably priced attractive restaurant overall.

This is always a favorite when we want something kind of like a Chili's / Applebee's / TGI Friday's type of meal but at a more reasonable cost. The food is always delicious and super plentiful so that I always have leftovers. He usually does, too, and that is a man who can eat. I love the nice selection of sides, and the service at this location has always been excellent. There can be quite a wait, but it's worth it. Small update Dec 30, 2011 - I'm back in town and went to Cheddar's for dinner. Once again, completely blown away by just how damn GOOD everything is and how NOT expensive it is. Our waiter was amazing - friendly, attentive, on top of it all, and he even recommended something not on the menu. I'll let you in on the secret. Chicken Fried Chicken. Like Chicken Fried Steak, but with instead of beef, it's two large and juicy chicken fillets. So good!

I've tried going back to this place several times, the last time I ate there, my chicken was raw. Sent it back, raw again. Was so disgusted by that I lost my appetite. Thank goodness they had a bar. The overall experience of the restaurant is so so. I'm pretty sure my waitress was high because she acted like she didn't know what I was saying or what was going on. I got a free dinner for my next visit. Right, I threw it away.

Long wait, so the plan is pretty complex. It's a good place for the dinner-movie thing. I wouldn't really go there otherwise. Game plan: 1. get your name down 2. go buy movie tickets 3. go back and sit at bar 4. eat 5. go see movie

Cheddar's is always busy, but that's because the food is delicious and inexpensive while still being served in large portions. Yes, I've always had to wait. But I know that going in and don't mind. Plus, the host staff have always handled the crowds well with polite attitudes despite some of the customers not repaying the kindness. Speaking of staff, our waiter this last time was awesome. I was there on a double date with my wife, my best friend, and his girlfriend. We made some off-color jokes about being swingers, and the waiter joined in. I thought it was hilarious and appreciated that he could change it up for different parties. My wife and I began dinner by splitting an order of the Santa Fe Spinach Dip. The Southwestern spices give it great flavor and just the right amount of kick. I then got the veggie plate because I'm trying to eat healthy. With it you can choose soup or salad and four different sides. I got the salad with broccoli, corn, green beans, and a loaded baked potato. My wife got the same thing, only with baby carrots instead of green beans. Everything was delicious, and our meal as a whole was less than $17 before tip. And again, the portions are huge. Aside from this visit we've been many other times. We've gotten a lot of different items off the menu and never had a bad bit of food. Also, the drinks are delicious. The Painkiller will knock you on your butt. There's a reason they limit two to a customer. Cheddar's is a great place. And it's worth the wait.

Cheddars is our go to restaurant any time we're in South Tulsa. We had an early dinner today. My husband had baby back ribs, shrimp, baked potato and a strawberry margarita. I had chicken fried chicken. Everything was fresh and hot. The wait for our food was minimal. Our server, Micheal, was excellent and his timing was perfect. Love this place it's always good.

As far as regional chain restaurants go this is one of the better establishments Tulsa has to offer. Do you have hungry kids after church? This is for you! Do you want a simple meal that is less expensive and tastes decent? This will do. My wife loves the spinach dip. Truth be told this is the best spinach dip I have had at any restaurant in Tulsa. The presentation is good. Servers are relaxed but doesn't lack in kindness or service. Think of this as a local Chili's and take it for what it is.

I am thankful we were not in a hurry. It took over 20 minutes to even be greeted. When Wanda finally made it to our table we ordered our drinks and app. Another 20-30minutes after finishing our drinks and app she came over to take our dinner order. At this point we needed refills on our beverages but we were halted with the excuse that she was very overwhelmed and if she could come back after she helps her other 5 tables. She never returned, however the manager did and we expressed our concerns. She never apologized however she was extremely prompt on cashing us out.

Cheddars is a place for first dates, game time, or just good food The bar has 6 tv's for your viewing pleasure if you don't want to watch sport ask the bar tender to change it they will be happy too They just went through a remodel for more space and decor , the bartenders are good here ask for Jon or Nate awesome drinks The food comes in big portion with low prices and drink prices are good too Always busy but goes fast and the bathroom are always clean The have a patio for nice days if you want to eat outside good for groups

Love coming here for the chicken tender dinner. The sides are really tasty too! This place serves what I consider comfort food so when I'm not feeling great or have had a bad day, this is where I want to go for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is really nice; there is a large ceiling fan that I have always been fascinated with (like since I was a little kid). The only reason that Cheddar's only gets 3 starts (even though it's a place I go pretty often) is because the service is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes the service is at like an OK level (not even really good or great), but sometimes the service is downright terrible. The menu, food, and atmosphere are great so I will keep coming back, but I do wish the service were a little more consistently decent.

Very inexpensive awesome drinks! My husband and I always sit in the bar. Not even the tall tables and request John or Nate to be our waiter. When we sit at regular tables something ALWAYS goes wrong with our order. Great place for drinks and food.

Don't go after 9:30. They might be open, but you will regret it! Every other time of day, Fishdaddy's (right next door) is always better! Terrible service across the board. We waited 20 minutes and no server showed up even after asking the hostess 10 minutes in with the Manager right there. Major Fail!

MY Ribs fell right off the bone. Mac and cheese not bad ; however I had better. MY Girlfriends Philly cheese steak sandwich was great. My daughters chicken fried steak was average. Our waiter Luke was very very good; the type of waiter you come across at a high end restaurant. The atmosphere unfortunately, lots of screaming children and irresponsible parents.

Food was good but the service was marginal....I love the spinach dip!!!! Fish Tacos are okay, I much prefer to have them next door at Fish Daddy's. My kids do love the monster cookie dessert-we usually order it when our entrees arrive at the table because it takes about 10 minutes to cook.

Chicken pot pie is good, but no bottom or side crust makes you go "Huh?".. Also the giant cookie sundae is pretty satisfying, even when split. Generally nice staff and a decent atmosphere for a chain. I just wish their lemonade didn't suck so much.

I've been to Cheddar's quite a few times over the years and it's pretty good. They have a good menu and nice portion sizes at reasonable prices. I really like their chicken strips and buttery croissants. My only problem I have is that it is ALWAYS busy. But I guess that's just because they're so good.
