My Husband and I were going to go to the one in Midtown Monday but we kept thinking about the reviews we read on the Chicken fried steak and Midtown is closed on Sundays so it was of those moments where you just have to have it so we went to 61st and let me tell you it is without a doubt the BEST Chicken fried steak we ever had plus the Best Delicious green beans. We got it to go and the two Gentleman that waited on us were as Friendly and nice as they could be.We will Definitely be going back to 61st and Midtown.I Highly Highly recommend this fine restaurant they have Great food you won't be disappointed. Sincerely Kristie - Tulsa

Amazing service (they work as a team and it shows) with some of the "bests" I've experienced in Tulsa. They have some of the best fresh French fries (cottage style or normal, though I recommend the cottage style), some of the best chicken tenders and even some of the best gravy (I'm not exactly a gravy fan but the gravy here is just amazing). Everything you get comes with green beans, which might initially sound like when your mom forces you to eat the veggies alongside all the other things you're gobbling up. However, I have to say that these are amazing green beans, full of flavor and always managing to hit the spot. While I usually can't resist the chicken tenders, I've managed to get several other items on the menu. The fried shrimp are among the best in Tulsa (it's not frozen, it's fresh... which is rare here). The catfish is breaded in cornmeal and served with a house tartar sauce that again is among the best in Tulsa. And the selections of drinks is great- you can get just about any major beer here (not on tap, though). Can't think of a better place to celebrate #100. This place is amazing.

Good food and reasonable prices. I have been here several times and have always had good service and a good overall experience. It's clean and the staff is friendly and prompt. If you like homestyle comfort food this is a good place to go.

I've been going here for a while now and love the fried gulf shrimp every time! Make sure and get the waffle fries and gravy for dipping. Meals come with complimentary green beans (which are delish). The staff is amazing and everyone waits on you.

We walked in to hearing the waitress telling her Co-workers how jealous she was because her kids were fu$&ing bowling. Really nice. I am here with my 10 year old son. When you do things inappropriate in front of my kids you won't be getting my business or a good review. Management should really talk to the employees about being on their best all the time when customers were around.

My husband and I used to visit this place a lot when we lived in the area. We would hurry over there after work and catch the lunch prices right before 5 - saves about $3 an entrée and the lunch entrées are basically the same size as the dinners. Lunch prices are good every day of the week until 5pm. Came a few weeks ago with my mom and stepdad; it just sounded good. The chicken fingers are delicious! I don't know that I've tried anything else there....maybe the fish, I don't remember. The chicken fingers are where it's at ($6.95)! All lunches come with your choice of mashed potatoes, french fries, or cottage fries (waffle fries), white gravy, and green beans. The sides are served family style and are refillable - no need to worry if you have a side hog at your table! The dinners come with the same options, but you also get a choice of a salad, cole slaw, applesauce, or cottage cheese. The drinks are big, and the service is usually pretty good even if they're busy. The lighting is on the darker side, so it definitely feels more like a bar, but it's comfortable. Seating for large groups can get tricky, but they'll do their best to accommodate everyone. It feels like a neighborhood place; I wish they had one closer to my house!

They don't pretend to be fine dining, they just make good food to eat. They have clean bathrooms, and a nice bar to wet your whistle. The chicken fried steaks are voted best in town because they use a very good cut of meat. Also, sides are served family style so you get plenty. Definitely worth a visit (either location).

Tried chicken fried steak upon recommendation of wait staff as I have had an enjoyed the deep fried shrimp at the downtown location. You got a large portion of meat sheathed in a thin batter that fell off and separated when cut. The taste was bland, no seasoning. For you that are used to Nelson's chicken fried-no comparison. Nelson's was the best when you wanted chicken fried steak. I was expecting a Nelson type chicken fried with the crispy drippings as an extra-nope. The mashed potatoes were ok and the standard green beans were overcooked. The 'gravy' had a good consistency and not runny-tasty. Wait staff courteous, friendly and helpful. Small area, clean tables. Turn around time quick to order-food delivered hot. Will go back and try the catfish next but will pass on the chicken fried. Reasonable prices.

I had been hearing about this place for a while so finally decided to try it. The service was good and the food was pretty decent, but the green beans everyone bragged about were really soggy and lacked flavor. Also the gravy tasted like it was at least partially packaged. There are as good or better places around to get a chicken fried chicken or steak. May give this place another shot again if back in the area.

Having to give this place a downgrade. Food quality and portion size are headed downhill as is the quality of service. Had chicken dinner today and had smallest and fewest pieces of chicken ever. Just 2 months ago theportions were more reasonable.

Brothers Houligan is a Tulsa favorite of mine! They have a few really spectacular items including chicken tenders, cottage fries, and chicken fried steak. The steak fingers and marinated chicken breast deserve a mention too. This time I tried the burger, and it was pretty good too. Cannot get enough gravy, it is so good. Be sure you are ready for a hearty meal though because the food sits a little heavy on your stomach. Service is good, I don't think I've ever had a really bad experience here. But the service has never really stood out as spectacular.

Stopped in here for lunch with my cousin recently. While the menu isn't exactly my cup of tea I can't knock them for that. Many people love this kind of southern comfort food. My cousin thinks the shrimp is about the best thing around. The service was prompt and the staff was courteous. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was pretty darn good. The prices are excellent. The interior is a bit weird, more than anything the color. The place has a weird pink hue to it. You can see it in the main pic. Decor is typical of a home style place. Nicknacks and stuff on the walls. It was clean, and parking was easy to find. I would recommend this to try for anyone who is looking for comfort food.

If you love southern comfort cooking such as meatloaf, fried catfish, fried shrimp, chicken tenders, chicken livers, steak fingers and chicken fried steak to name a handful of menu choices then this is a place you'll definately want to roll into! Served with that are some of the best green beans you'll eat and your choice of mashed, cottage fries or rehular fries....yum! You also aren't limited to one server....they all keep an eye on all the customers to ensure the best service. Generous portions, great prices, good service and a flat screen tv on the wall to check into the latest game score( sound not blaring) for those who are interested. I've been many times and plan on going many more!! If you're a fan of the classic blues music....you'll love the sound they have in the background!

Tried the fried shrimp today & they were nice, large shrimp and very tasty. Only problem is that the shrimp basket only came with 6 shrimp! They have a shrimp lunch platter for $8.50 that comes with 6 shrimp, green beans and 1 potato side. The shrimp basket was also $8.50, but includes just 6 shrimp and nothing else!! I feel a little ripped off!

This is a Fried food restaurant. I like fried foods and speedy service so this is a good place for me. I usually get the gulf shrimp which are large and tasty. Everything comes with waffel fries and gravy... All you can eat. The wait staff work all the tables as their own so when you need something just ask any of them.

If Fried food was a sub category under restaurants, this place nailed it. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner now and haven't been let down yet. They have a decent lunch menu that will fill you up and they are speedy with the food. Even for dinner we had a group of 7 which normally means add an hour and a half to your time but we had our meals within 10 minutes of ordering. The only down side is the parking seems a bit sparse but we found a place so i guess i can't complain.
