Not bad. Had a good dinner with family. The enchilada sauce was a little generic but did not cause me to waste the dish. The salsa is wonderful and the chip are warm with little to no salt which is good for folks that do not need the salt. I will eat here again if the mood strikes me.

We liked it a lot - not the best/most authentic Mexican ever, but the food was tasty. It's one of those typical American Mexican restaurants where everything comes with a side of orange rice, refried beans, & "guacamole salad." The food ranged from decent to great - especially the steak quesadilla I had (ridiculously good... I'm wondering what they cooked it in). The waiter was extremely attentive. We will be back.

Service was great! Staff very nice & friendly, salsa and chips not my favorite. Kind of pricey for the quality of food.

Great food. Tasty, simple and surprisingly inexpensive. Five adults and one child, meals and beer (well, for the adults anyway) for around $50. Service was good, kept our chips and salsa full as we waited, when food arrived it was just as expected.

Try the nachos! They make a big meal for about five bucks. Beef is good, chicken is even better!

I don't know that i'd call it authentic, but it is very very good. The decor is more disturbing than most resturants, but the fajitas make up for it.

The Mexican restaurants in Stillwater are all VERY similar, with the exception of Eskimo joes (which they try to pass off as a Mexican restaurant). And, they all pretty much suck... So don't get expect greatness and you'll be fine

California burrito was best burrito I've ever had when you add queso. Just seemed a little much for one person meal to be $14

Hadn't been here in several years. We were on this side of town so tried it again. Service was mediocre but friendly, then went downhill. I ordered the Chile Colorado at the waiter's recommendation. It came sitting in a pool of greasy water, the pork had just been followed on top of the chile sauce ,the beans had a nice skin on them because I guess they'd been sitting a while. When I tasted it, it was bland and flavorless and the runny liquid made eating it inside the flour tortillas a big mess. I haven't been that disappointed in a meal in a long time. Oh, and the beer glasses had the rims salted with green margarita salt (which might have been festive if everything else didn't stink). The tilapia tacos on the other hand were pretty tasty.

The service is good, the food is not great. The last time I went was just one bad experience after the next. I ended up not eating and grabbing a sandwich later.

This place is pretty good. Service is always quick. Food is pretty good. The queso is very yummy. It's been a while since we stopped by, but we'll definitely go again next time we want some Mexican food.

Salsa tastes suspiciously like Pace Picante. That's a deal breaker for me. The rest of my meal wasn't much better either.

Once again, we headed to Stillwater for dinner without considering that a sports event would be going on. Sadly, this time it was basketball and all the Lexus and Mercedes were zipping through crowded restaurant parking lots at mach 3 as though they owned the place. All our regular gigs were packed so we reluctantly tried the El Tapatio. Our first impression was that it was dirty and had a lingering smell of pine oil cleaner and grease. The staff was prompt and settled us in at a booth. Service was prompt and attentive. The food was bland and sort of sad looking. It was neither the copious American version of Mexican food nor did it resemble that you would find in Mexico. This is a place you could miss. We won't be back, even if all the restaurants in Stillwater have 2 hour waiting lists.

If you enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine, you cannot go wrong with El Tapatio. The service is fast and friendly, the food is incredible, AND.... they serve cerveza! This is a favorite of mine for lunch time as they have and incredibly priced lunch menu, as is the whole menu in general. The price you pay for SIZZLING fajitas at lunch cannot be beat anywhere... PERIOD. The food is flavorful and the service fast. I enjoy jalapenos on my mexican, and when I ask for some on the side, it's fresh cut. FRESH CUT. You just can't beat that!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
