The salad bar with 35 different items was great. The staff and the gauchos were friendly. I am stopping short of the fifth star for a couple of reasons: 1. I have been to other Brazilian Steakhouses where The meat offering were move diverse. Additionally, not all the meats were 'cooked to perfection.' 2. One price for everything ($39.95), as I was told when I called, does not include dessert. A little surprised when they appeared on the bill as separate line item. All in all it was a good experience.

Adding 2 stars to my original review for the MUCH-improved service! We had friends coming into the city who wanted to try this place out for their anniversary, and while the hubby and I were feeling hesitant, we figured h*lls bells, let's give it another go. Made reservations for 6:45 for Fri night and arrived approx. 10 minutes early for a pre-dinner cocktail at the front bar with our favorite bartender (a big shout out to Kristi - Love her! Make the time, have a seat, and let Kristi show off her her super-awesome skills), and though I started feeling a bit of panic after waiting around 8 mins, happy to state we were seated at 6:55. The service this go-round: we ended up with the same server who waited on us the last time, so I it ended up perfect for a comparative review. The table ordered a couple cocktails and a bottle of wine and then we hit up the "salad bar" - Eats were just as yummy as before. Like the last visit, most of us were finishing up the pre-meats course without the adult-beverages - Though, this time around, our server came by the table to explain the bar was backed up and apologized for the delay. Simply communicating/acknowledging there's a delay goes a long ways in my book - Kudos. After about a 15 min wait, we received our drinks and wine (granted the wrong bottle - ordered a Shiraz, but received a merlot and hubby didn't want to risk another 15 min wait), and got to enjoy the rest of our dining experience without any further delays. All carnivores at the table (I.e. everyone but me) got to partake in basically every meat type there is, including picanha (yup - apparently they do serve it, and eveyone concurred it was delicious) - This time, the plates never emptied and the gauchos were buzzing. Folks at the table also made specific requests for certain types o' meat (e.g. petite filets) and cooking durations (e.g. medium-rare, well-done) and those requests were prompty met. Looks like Flame has ironed out the kinks - At $40 a head, dining here is a bargain if you love all-things-meat.

I feel the need to rebut some of the reviews that I'm seeing about this place. I have eaten at numerous charrascarias throughout the U.S. Including Fogo de Chao, Texas de Brazil and Estilo Gaucho. I will say that we dined on a Wednesday and the restaurant wasn't overwhelmed with visitors. The service isn't quite on par with a place like Fogo where you feel like you're at the center of a bee hive and the countless drones serve you in waves. However, our plates never emptied, our glasses never ran dry and everyone was quite pleasant. The cuts of meat were all prepared excellently and flavors were on par with my other experiences. The salad bar is most likely the best available anywhere in this state. Everything was flavorful and fresh, staff was friendly, service was excellent. I cannot speak to what an experience here would be like when they are slammed but on the night we went it was a great experience. The only drawback I see is that it just isn't right that a Brazilian restaurant doesn't have Guarana. Oh, and no pudim (flan), but would definitely recommend.

We HAVE the MEATS!! And this 'ain't' Arby's! Flame recently opened in The Grand Casino in Shawnee. I have been waiting to try a Brazillian steakhouse in Oklahoma City area since Gaucho's closed down a long time ago. This place is great. IF my pictures ever upload, I will show you a little of the environment. This is a carnivores paradise. We went on a Wednesday. I have read some of the reviews that pretty much compliment the food but can the service. Well, honestly, I think we had a great experience over all. It wasn't perfect; not much is but it sure ranks up there as a great dining experience in Oklahoma. And it's in SHAWNEE of all places! Our meats included garlic sirloin, grilled sirloin, barbecue chicken, grilled lamb chops, parmesan grilled chicken, sausage, fillet tenderloin, and barbecued ribs. All were hot and fresh off the grill. Our servers came by often. No problem with any delay like some have said. Of course, now that the restaurant has opened awhile and it was not some busy weekend time, that helps I'm sure. You have to give a place a chance to work out the kinks. All of our meet was prepared well; seasoned well and quite good. The only ones that we did NOT like were the barbecued ribs. They looked great. Taste not too bad but I don't think they were quite cooked long enough. Kinda tough. But if that's the only thing not done to perfection, not much to complain about is there. And you don't go to a churrascaria steakhouse JUST for ribs anyway!! Service was prompt; courteous. They seem to work as a team because we had both a waitress and waiter serve us. Hostess was pleasant. And we were on our way to the restaurant from Oklahoma City; got delayed by an accident on I-40. We called while on the highway there and told them that we would not be able to make our dinner reservation window. She was more than accommodating and moved it back 1/2 hour. Apparently there were several more people planning on dining there who were also delayed. She stated that 4 parties had called about the accident and missing their reservation. Pre-gorging, you might want to have a drink at the bar. It's right in the front of the restaurant and it matches the ambience of a steakhouse. Bartender was pleasant but she definitely was NOT busy on this night. Drink prices are QUITE reasonable for a steakhouse. I have a premium brand preference and it's about $1 cheaper a drink than in most places. Pour adequate; must be measured for sure but still a good value. What I thought was unusual and minor surprise is that the per glass prices for wine seemed to be a little better value than the bottle prices. But you need to decide for yourself as we just perused the wine menu this time; didn't order any. Prior to the meats being served, they have a GREAT pre-food bar. You do NOT want to call this a salad bar because that would NOT do it justice! It is much much more. Has a variety of seafood, including shrimp and salmon. Variety of greens for salad. A variety of dressings. Proscuitto, italian salami's, olive bar, etc. There was also a soup selection, including lobster bisque. But to my chagrin, no lobster in the lobster bisque this night. Tasty but disappointing. However, hey, you can always improvise and a few added salad shrimp made it a seafood bisque "on the fly". LOL Desert choices were sublime. NY style cheesecake; carrot cake; chocolate cake, etc. Pretty much your typical gourmet restaurant choice of desserts. Portions are large; share them so you can try different types. Did I mention this place was located in Shawnee, OK? Not a metropolis by any means..........LOL And finally, we thought the pricing was quite reasonable. I don't know what one reviewer's complaint was as to cost but $40 bucks for what you get is pretty darn reasonable in my eyes. It's all you can eat, too. And the green/red signal button is a $10 match play in the casino token, too. So you are "in a way" getting a $10 discount ON your meal.........ok, ok.....for you math nerds, it's a match play coupon, so maybe in expected value it's only $5 in value BUT if you win with the matchplay, then your meal was 50% discounted.......LOL Go here with an APPETITE! Thumbs up!

This is the best brazilian restaurant in the state, they had a ton of options at the bar and all the meats were absolutly delicious. Do NOT leave before you try the creme brulee. Their coffee is great!

In case you have kids or anyone under 21 with you, don't even bother wasting your time with this restaurant since you won't be allowed in. We just tried to bring our 23 and 19-year old daughters with us to eat dinner, and we were not allowed to enter. We are not interested in gaming or drinking; we just wanted to eat dinner. Are the servers incapable of checking IDs on their own?

I had heard about this place beforehand so I was somewhat ready for how things worked with the meat and meal bring one price but I also thought there would be more options. There is no menu and I'm not a big meet eater so my only option was salad bar. The salad bar was ok but mostly for the seafood eater. I was not happy with my food, I only ate part of one plate. My husband opted for the meat dinner and was very displeased with his meal as his steaks tastes like the metal skewer they came off of. He did not finish his meal and we both left hungry. They next thing may seem petty to some but I feel it's worth mentioning. We made the trip to Grand casino resort and stayed the night in an overpriced hotel just to try this new restraunt and celebrate my husband's birthday.I made reservations in open table and told them about his birthday and asked if they did anything special for birthdays. Normally I wouldn't care that they didn't do anything but this time I felt somewhat unimportant. To the left of us, a couple had and anniversary and recieved a free desert of their choice. To the right of us, a guy was having his birthday and also recieved a free desert. We all three had the same Waitor. They left a comment card which says at the bottom to tell them our concerns while we were there and they would fix it them. I filled it out, gave it to the hostess and she just said thanks I'll tell the manager. I really doubt I'll be back.

The only other Brazilian steakhouse I've been to is Texas to Brazil. I'm basing my experience off that. This place needs help. Just like every other restaurant that's been in this casino. Service was horrible, making a reservation doesn't help you apparently. It took over an hour for us to get seated when we had reservations. The servers with the skewers were few and far between. When we did get some meat it was ok but not great. I'm not sure what type of meat they are serving whether it be select, choice or prime but I don't think it was the choice or prime. Salad bar was good with lots of choices. All in all I think I'd rather go to one of the local steakhouses in town and save a few bucks for the slots. My wife and I was about 100 bucks.

Flame is currently a four star experience, that I think will become a five star experience in time. First, the food at Flame was delicious. I went for Sunday brunch and the buffet had an impressive variety of choices. Though smaller than the cold buffets as some churrascarias I've been to, Flame's was every bit as tasty. They had a number of vegetables and salads, as well as smoked salmon, prosciutto, goat cheese, and fresh mozzarella. Where Flame's buffet stood out was the hot choices. There was a delicious lobster bisque There were also eggs, bacon, Brazilian sausage, and potatoes. I'm fairly certain those are brunch only, but they were a welcome surprise. There were also danishes and muffins. I've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse that provided an actual brunch experience the way Flame did. Of course, as great as a buffet might be, the true test of any churrascaria is the meat. I think Flame delivers on the meat, but it depends on what you want. People who have visited Texas de Brasil or Fogo de Chao know that when you turn your indicator to green you get bombarded with gauchos delivering endless amounts of meat. The quantity of meat can be overwhelming. If you to Flame expecting that same quantity, I think, at least currently, you will be disappointed. This isn't to say that Flame doesn't have gauchos or that you won't get meat, but it is delivered at a more modest pace and you may go minutes in between meat service. That being said, the meat was delicious. As is true at many Brazilian steakhouses, the house special top sirloin is the star. It was very well seasoned and paired with surprisingly flavorful house-made chimichurri perfectly. The lamb chops were prepared expertly and featured a nice apple-mint jelly to go with them. The garlic beef was delicious as well. I believe the dinner comes with more meats. There was parmesan chicken and chicken drumsticks available as well, but I passed on trying them as I'm not a big fan of either. The sides that came with meat were tasty. The cheese popovers were slightly salty, but overall good. The bananas and mashed potatoes were good as well. Probably the biggest disappointment was the lack of papaya cream. Our waiter said that they plan to add it, but have not yet been able to source high quality papayas. While I understand this, I can't help but hope they find a source soon. The wine list was fantastic and was very reasonably priced. The prices overall were outstanding. The brunch was $24.99 before tax and tip. The menu said that dinners are $20 for the salad bar only and $40 for the full experience, which is cheaper than dinners at many of the other chains. Overall, I thought Flame was delicious and I know I'll be back.
