Overall this place is really good. Parking can be tough, but that goes for everything on Main St in Norman. The atmosphere of the place is great, and my husband was thrilled they were playing 2 sports and Star Wars on the tvs. The bar looks great, they did a nice job. The structure of ordering at the counter is a little strange, because there's really no line or structure to it. But the employees were friendly, patient and helpful for our first time in. I do find it a little odd that they have Diet Dr. Pepper, but not regular (Pibb is just not the same). It took a while to get our order, but when it came it was really good. I had the bacon avocado ranch with turkey meat and my husband did the bleu burger with beef. Both tasted really good, my only complaint would be that their bread is so soft that it got pretty soggy. Definitely a messy burger place. The sweet potato fries were fantastic and their choice of sauces are great. The prices were good, not great, but not expensive. I'm definitely going back and I already know there's a couple more things I have to try (slaw burger!).

If you want a good burger, go to Five Guys. If you want a mouth-watering, blow your mind(or taste buds) away, unforgettable burger, go to The Garage. I am constantly in search of the best burger while travelling and I'm most certain that I've found it in Norman! I love that they have buffalo as a protein option. They have a large selection of burgers, however I picked the cheeseburger with Buffalo(and added bacon of course!) The chili cheese dog is also worth trying if you aren't in the mood for a burger. I highly recommend this place!

Best burgers EVER. So hamburgers here are simply unbeatable sorry other places but this is the best. I even love the veggie patty on these burgers , it is all amazing!! If I go to other restaurants I never order burgers any more because they simply do not compare. Maybe you think I'm exaggerating but no I'm crazy about this place. My favs are the egg a nator and the BBQ bacon theta (minus bacon for me) and the slaw burger ...the thunder fried are great as well as the spicy southwestern fries . Just tried the fish tacos today for the first time and they are also amazing!!! I'm in love with this place. Best ever!!! I also highly recommend adding grilled jalapeños to any burger you order.

This is my go to burger joint now. They have protein options: beef, turkey, smoked turkey, garden, and bison. I've only had the beef and turkey, and both are great. The burgers are a bit on the greasy side, but everything is so fresh and delicious! The fries are inconsistent. Somethings they are dripping with grease, sometimes they are burnt, sometimes cold, over salted, etc. Their burgers are sometime inconsistent too. Sometimes they leave the ribs and seeds on the jalapeno slices, providing a fiery burger, other times they don't, which leaves you with no heat. If it was more consistent, it would get 5 stars. The atmosphere is really cool. They always have an iconic or hit movie from the 70's to early 90's on one of the TVs (The Princess Bride, Top Gun, Star Wars, etc.). Other TVs have a variety of sports. Sound is not on, so you get to enjoy their music, which is a nice hodge podge of classic rock, grunge, and rock. If you're in your 30's or 40's, you're most likely to enjoy the atmosphere! Most of the restaurant is a bar with small bar tables. A small section has a few booths. Please read the signs, be courteous, and order before taking a seat. Too often I see people grabbing seats before they order, then there is nowhere for someone who has just ordered to sit. They keep track of seating at the counter, and can tell you whether there is an open table when you order. However, if you sit before you order, this gets all messed up. So please, please, please, order and then sit.

This is a popular local spot and during meal times your lucky to find a table. And yes it is just that good. I end up walking in here fairly frequently myself. I'm a classic burger kinda guy and they always taste amazing. But they have buffalo and more to offer and some pretty wild burgers IMO if your feeling adventurous. The atmosphere itself is awesome and fun. The staff are always really friendly and helpful too.

This place has the best burgers in town. I love the fries and sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It's great for lunch or an evening out with friends. They have games to occupy the kids in the back and they have several tv's showing several different shows. They always have on some kind of sports and old movies.

OK, quick review. Bar with custom burgers. Bison, turkey, smoked turkey, or beef. Many interesting and tasty combos. Great fries with many other things to top them. Friendly bartender and good prices. Found it on Yelp. Brought 5 hungry guys from out of town. Everyone agreed. Win.

I was looking for a memorable place to eat on a recent visit to the OKC area and chose The Garage because of reviews, the menu and the college district where it is located. The staff recognized that I was a first timer and was quick to help me with the menu. I went with their recommendations and ordered the Spicy Sriracha Bleu Bison Burger and Garlic Parmesan Fries and was not disappointed. The parmesan fries were great and the burger brought pleasant heat with Sriracha sauce and a bed of cooked jalapeños. Don't run out of drink while eating this blazer. I recommend being adventurous and ordering the bison patty. Everything about my order, the prices, the staff and the environment was great. I will return to the Garage on my next visit to the area as it was a very memorable experience.

Known as a burger place but they have so much more! Great tacos, apps and my recent order of the avocado melt. While recently going vegetarian for lent I thought I may have to pass on ordering something but the avocado melt was perfect. Essentially a grilled cheese heavy on the avocado! This may be my regular order from now on. You order at the counter then get a number and find a place to sit. I love this kind of service. When I get to a restaurant i'm usually ready to eat so this takes out all the waisted time of being seated, ordering drinks and then finally getting around to the food. Best sweet potato fries in norman, great Moscow mules and fit with vegetarian options, like my avocado melt!

Sweet mother of exploding taste buds, this place makes a good burger! The beef is CLEARLY ground on site. Our band played at a nearby bar, and they were getting ready to shut the kitchen down early (July 4th), but the cooks were nice enough to whip our orders up for us. The place was very clean, and modern, without being bland. GREAT customer service, amazing food!

Just ok. The food is good, depending on what you get, but I've had crappy burgers here before. The whole system is awful. They make you order at the back behind the bar, you can't sit down until you order. Then, when they bring out the food, there are NOT napkins at the table, and their food is MESSY ok, so NO napkins at the table plus messy food is a huge problem. The cahsier brings you your order and like three napkins, and if you want more, you have to walk all the way to the back, past the line of people trying to get thier drinks, apologizingthe whole way like "I'm not cutting I SWAER I'm just trying to cleanse my hands of this ridiculous grease bath". It's just a mess. The only place to sit is the bar IMO, because you can SKIP the line and the ordering fiasco and just place your order w the bartender.

Always great food, drinks and atmosphere. I've tried several different items on the menu and never disappointed. Also a great place to catch the game(s), and for groups to get together.

Not sure how this place is so well rated. Worst sandwich ever. My husband liked his burger. 2 stars for cold beer and fast service-not all of it friendly however. No desire to return unless to drink a cold beer....

  • Micheal E.

Good stuff Maynard. Good burgers. Good beer. What else could a man ask for? I had the jalapeño bacon cheeseburger. My partner the fried onion burger. My only complaint was the peppers could've been cooked a bit better.

  • Lisa N.

Good greasy food. Nice atmosphere. Tons of unique options! The buns are very buttery!!! The beer is expensive though :(

    (5)

The flavor of my burger (The Sticky Finger) was amazing! The combination of the peanut butter, bacon bits, sweet jalapeño relish, and cheddar/jack cheese was a winning combination!

Probably the best burger in Norman. I get the onion burger and the garlic fries and although the fries are way too heavy and greasy, it is a satisfying meal. There are tacos and turkey burgers and all that stuff on the menu too, but the place is a burger joint. Don't waste a night out on that other stuff. Just get the burger. The thing I can't stand about it (and why it is 4 stars instead of 5) is this whole trend of standing in line, ordering at a counter and having your food brought out to you. It's cute for shacks that have been around for since the 50s, but this is a new restaurant. I think you can order your beer at the counter, but if you want a second beer, there isn't really a wait staff that helps you, just food runners. And you kind of have to weave your way through the tables to go to place your oder at the back and then search for a table. I'm just the kind of guy that likes to be waited on when I am out to eat. Unless it's a lunch counter, which is this isn't. This is a hamburger restaurant/bar. So my tip is if you like to have a beer with your burger, you might want to just sit at the bar, if you can find a seat, and place your entire order with one of the always-friendly bartenders.

This is one of our favorites in town. Great burgers and I'm sure a lot of their other things are wonderful, too, but I found a burger I loved (slaw burger) and stuck with it for a long time. Switched it up a while back and tried the pesto burger. That would be my new favorite if they hadn't removed it from the menu. I love their chips and queso. I've never had any issues with service here like some reviews here suggest. Servers have been attentive without hovering and everything has been fresh and delicious.

I came to try a hamburger here and there were no words to describe it's goodness.i ordered the spicy chili green burger. The bread was soo soft. The meat literally melted in my mouth. The spices were just right. Thanks for a great eating experience in OKC.

If you're looking for a decent bar with burgers to watch the game, come here. I always get the Cobb Burger with a veggie patty, love it. Fries are good. Bar has good mixed drinks, decent beer selection (although not the top beer place on Main St), all for good prices. Moscow Mule is a favorite. TVs everywhere for games, and arcade area in the back. A usual hangout of ours...Trivia on Sunday nights!

Meh. Burger was not at all what I was expecting. French fries were hard and stale. Asked waitress a simple question and she was really rude. Won't be going back

Really yummy burger bar. My fave is the sriacha blue burger! They have bingo every Thursday night which has become a tradition among me and my friends. They have a lot of big TVs so it's a great place to watch a game. They also play a lot of classic 80's movies if you aren't s sports fan. Overall, great burger and great bar.

I moved back to my hometown of Norman about 5 months ago with every intention of eating at The Garage. I finally got their today and after beginning to eat I immediately wished I had eaten here earlier. A buddy of mine and I came in several weeks ago, but the line was a nightmare, and every table was full. So, we decided to eat at Das Boot, which was a good decision (see my review). I went back to The Garage at lunchtime, and while it was busy, it wasn't anything like the first time I went. After much deliberation, I went with the Theta and Tijuana fries. The Tijuana fries are the Garage's hand cut fries served with grilled jalapenos and onions. You get a lot of the veggies, so you have some in each bite. These were fantastic, spicy, but not overly so. Since the dipping sauces are a quarter, I decided to try two: the chipotle ranch and BBQ aioli. Both were good and well worth the quarter. The ranch had some heat to it, but was still tangy and creamy. It's what I expected, and it didn't disappoint. The BBQ aioli, on the other hand, was a bit of a surprise. Thick and rich, this was a fantastic sauce that combined the spices associated with BBQ and the richness of aioli. This was my preference of the two sauces. Next time I will add some hot sauce to give this some heat. The BBQ bacon Theta comes with bacon, the aforementioned aioli, pickles, and cheddar/jack cheese. The burgers are a third pound, and for $6 I thought this was a very good deal. The bun is soft but maintained its integrity throughout the meal. There was a healthy serving of bacon on the burger. All of the ingredients went well, this is a nice update of the classic Theta. Definite re-order. I docked a star because I don't like the way you order here. You order at a counter, then find your seat. The first time I went, on Friday, it was incredibly crowded. I can imagine that ordering then hoping you find a seat before your food is finished is not fun. I can also see a situation (although it's not happened to me) where your food is out before you have a seat. For that reason, I won't eat at The Garage on busy weekend nights. So, I'll probably be limited to lunches, but I will return often.

I'm a big fan of the garage! Even when I came during the busiest times of Norman Music Fest and an OU football game, this place has always made fresh food that you are proud to eat. I love the 50/50 fries, half sweet potato half regular fries. I like the variety of burgers and the fact that you can get turkey, buffalo or beef, you don't feel guilty for eating here if you are on a diet because of the lean meat. This is always a great hangout for friends. They always have some type of trivia, or bingo and drink specials. A great addition to main street!

There is only one reason that I ever feel a restaurant deserves a one star review and the Garage in downtown Norman wins this honor: food poisoning. I have eaten here two or maybe three times in my travels as a touring musician. My first visits were okay in that the food was edible and it didn't make me sick. Decent bar food with a token garden burger option for vegetarians such as myself. Sparing the details, my last visit made me physically ill for a good 24 hours.

I've never been disappointing when I've come to The Garage - and I've been here a lot. My boyfriend's gym is right around the corner, and he loves a good burger right after burning a few calories. They usually have a well known movie playing on mute on a couple of TVs, sports and/or a music video on the others, and an magnificent playlist going. Besides the bar seating, they have comfy booths and high tables. They have street signs, license plates, and other cool things hung up everywhere that give it the cool "Garage" vibe. The staff really knows how to take care of you; Bartenders don't ignore me, the waitresses are quick to get my order started without rushing me, and the place is very clean. One visit, my group and I received free shots when they were trying something new and needed guineas to try. Another time, I was extremely hungry and the lady gave me a little thing of Cheez-its to tide me over while waiting for my burger. When opening them, I had accidentally dropped a couple of them on the floor. I put them on the table so they wouldn't get crushed on the floor, and the guy that brought my beers was hugely embarrassed because he thought the mess was already there when I sat down (I explained to him that it was my mess). Once you finish ordering, they give you a number on a stop sign that you place in a coke bottle that is on your table. You get to choose where you sit! The beverages come quickly and the food shortly after (15 min - but hey, a great big Buffalo burger takes time!). Almost every time I come here, a manager will ask me how my food is or something along those lines and seem genuinely interested. Even if you opt for something other than their pretty awesome specialty burgers - ranging from classic mushroom swiss to a green chili burger - and a side of fries, the food is pretty dang tasty and made exactly like you would think it would be if you were eating and chilling over at a friend's garage, if that friend made it a business and commercialized it just a tad. Thick cut fries, veggies are large cut, cold beers, tacos with plenty of toppings on them, etc. Like most bars, they do a couple of events weekly to bring in the crowd: Bingo on Thursdays and Sudz and spuds Wednesdays. My only qualm (and reason for the less one star) is it is a little more than some places, but, for me it's the occasional splurge place and I like it.

Wow, the Sticky Finger is one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! Bacon bits, peanut butter, and jalapeño relish - amazing!! Generous, excellent fries with a BBQ aioli top the meal off. Highly recommended if you are in Norman!!

Where have these burgers been my whole life's?! Got that bacon, avocado, ranch burger with bison meat. It's melting in my mouth! This should be an American monument. Alert the media!

As new Norman residents, we tried The Garage for the first, but certainly not for the last, time recently. Excellent burgers and sandwiches (I loved the buffalo burger.) and fries. Great selection of beers. Order at the counter and your food is served up quickly and efficiently. Friendly staff. Love the atmosphere, friendly and casual. Kind of like a down home Cheers bar. Ample seating and you could tell that locals frequent the place not only for the food and drinks, but to hang out with friends. Several pin ball machines toward the back evoke good memories.

Horrible service you wait in line and they choose who to serve! Then when you ask the manager why he says to basically deal! I wanted a great burger but will skip due to lack of service

  • Joy M.

Honestly, I really like the atmosphere more so then I liked my food. But I'll have to rewrite my review after I have one of their tasty burgers! If you want food you have to go to the back of the place. There are a few booths along one side of the wall. You order at the counter and then take the number back to your table. I think if you ordered a soda, you can refill it yourself at the fountain. For alcholic beverages, you need to go to the bar. My boyfriend and I decided to go on a bar crawl on rainy Saturday night and this was one of our pit stops. I heard the french fries were out of this world, so I decided to try the garlic parmesan version. Yummy :) It was slathered with flavor and the fries were fresh cut potatoes for sure. They had a slight crunch and then a soft potatoey inside. My favorite one's are the crunchy kind.

Fu food spot on Main Street in Norman. This place was packed! You need to figure out how everything works and you will be fine. A few things I wish we knew when we went.... 1. Order before you sit. 1. Split up and save a table or risk standing. 3. Get anything on the menu, it is all tasty! 4. Get the biggest burger you can find if you are a big eater or leave hungry! They also have some TVs for the games and such. We do not drink but they appeared to be a very popular spot for drinks with crazy names!.

Good food with lots of choices on meat type and toppings. Good atmosphere, but it is pretty tight. A lot of seats crammed together. Bathroom is an individual so you usually have to wait a while for one

Usually good service, great atmosphere. I love the Nutty Rooster burger. Of the burger places/bars in town, this might be my favorite. Good drinks, too.

  • Kalani L.

Honestly one of my favorite places to eat, I mean food yeah it's brilliant, but also in a city where the sidewalks roll up after 6 o'clock it's really nice to find somewhere decent to eat in the wee hours of the night (let's say 11ish not actually that late but late enough where most everywhere is dead here). Burgers aside (I'm quite fond of the pesto burger) I think it slips past a lot of people that in lieu of buying fries you can get fresh hot potato chips which are absolutely delicious

    (5)
  • Joey L.

I think that this might be my favorite place to get a burger in the OKC metro. I got the avocado bacon ranch burger which is what I always get and I am never disappointed. It's messy but worth it. you can't go wrong with the combo of avocado and bacon I don't think. The only complaint I have is that you have to pay for fries and that the parm-garlic fries always end up with a lot of parm on the bottom of the dish. The dipping sauces are really good too. Service is minimal but always good. I dig this place a lot.

  • Cayse C.

Okay, walking in, this place is awesome. Great atmosphere, huge TVs, great art. Fun vibe. You have to walk up and order. Don't get overwhelmed, I know, everything looks amazing, and probably is. You have the choice of getting beef or buffalo burgers... I highly suggest buffalo. I still want to try all of the nachos...heck, I want to try everything! Boyfriend had the chili and we thought it was just okay, but my Ranch Avocado was heavenly. Also, try the Moscow Mule drink. It's delish and comes in a copper mug!

I had the "Special" Patty Melt with bacon, grilled onions, and a fried egg! It was GREAT!

  • Meg W.

I love this place but it is only because they have the most delicious veggie burger and it's the only thing I've had here except for french fries and sweet potato fries. However, I have been told by my carnivorous friends that their hamburgers are also pretty amazing. The Garage is a nice little place where you order at the counter when your ready to eat and play pinball and skeeball while you are waiting for your food to come out. They also have a full bar and they have delicious little side sauces for 25 cents each such as sriracha aioli and garlic aioli. My only complaint about this place is that it seems a tad bit pricey for just a burger joint but obviously that hasn't stopped me from coming here over and over to experience the best veggie burger of my life. Seriously...it is that good.

Great burgera and sweet potatoes! Also local beer great but pricey! Tax here is outrageous on beer..about 20%!

    (5)
  • Jordan J.

The burgers are absolutely amazing here! I recommend you stay with that option and don't venture to the tacos and salads. Definitely a bar atmosphere so don't come for family fun time. My biggest concern was that only one person seemed to want to help people. The other employees just seemed to want to leave.

The spicy sriracha bleu burger was fantastic. I got mine with bison and it was still juicy. I had sweet potato fries which were great. A buddy had the potato chips which were also good. The regular fries were forgettable and that was the only downside of the entire lunch. Hook 'em!

The Garage has one of the best turkey burgers in OKC. Always moist, never dry, and very delicious. I love the atmosphere, especially when a Sooner football or OKC Thunder Game is on. Thunder specials are awesome and service has always been good. If you're wanting to catch the game get there early, as seating is very limited.

Fun, casual atmosphere, great service and amazing burgers. I always get the buffalo burger. It's lower in total and saturated fat than a beef burger and I prefer the taste too. It's totally worth the extra $2. Because of the bison burger option, the garage is my favorite burger joint in Oklahoma. Also, if you want a real treat, try the garlic/parm fries with srirachi aioli. YUM. I've also heard they have BINGO on Thursday nights. I have yet to make it, but rumor has it it's a blast.

Like the atmosphere of this place, it has a fun vibe and they play good music. The kid in me also loved that there's an arcade in the back with skee-ball!! We started off with the onion dip with potato chips which were very good. The potato chips are made in house. I got the sriracha bleu burger. My only complaint about this burger is that it came out extremely hot- temperature-wise. The burger was steaming when they served, so I guess it was fresh off the grill. When I took my first bite, a steaming onion came flying out, slapped me on the face, and nearly burned my lip off. After I let it cool down, though, it was delicious! The perfect combination of tangy bleu cheese, sweet grilled onions, and spicy jalepeno and sriracha. The spice level was just right. Although I must admit that I pulled out half the jalepenos because I'm a wuss. I got the wheat bun, which I recommend. My dad got the regular bun and it fell apart pretty easily.

The Garage gets my vote as best burger in Norman. I haven't tried a burger I didn't like, with my favorites being the sticky finger or simply a beef or buffalo burger. I really miss their Forwards Foods cheeseburger special of the week, but I've gotten over it, mostly. All the french fries are stellar. Tijuana fries or just getting plain ones with a Sriracha mayo dipping sauce is pretty bomb. I happened upon Bingo night recently, and the nachos we're good too, but it was after a few beers so no guarantees on the clarity of my judgement there. Good atmosphere, and--this is completely unrelated to food--they have the best Galaga machine in Norman.

So sad to say, I will not be returning to this location ever again. I came back to get their burger and got food poisoning instead, hit me about 3am and was down for 2 days! What a nightmare, my husband told them something was wrong, they couldn't seem to find what had caused it. I had a regular cheeseburger with the addition of garlic aioli. It tasted fine, but something they used caused the problem. My husband had their green chili burger and didn't get sick. Who knows, but I didn't have lunch that day and their food was the only thing that could have caused it.

Loved this place. Great atmosphere, great area on Main Street. Got bahn mi tacos, which were good, but a bit too hot for me. Once I took off most of the siracha slaw, though, they were excellent fish tacos. The queso fries were delicious! I could eat them just for my meal. The classic burger and bacon avocado ranch burgers my son and husband got were also excellent and made from fresh beef, not frozen patties. Would definitely recommend this place. Non-smoking, games in the back area, tv's in the bar area.

  • Garen M.

They have a great selection of gourmet burgers. Mrs. Eva had an old fashion w/ sweet potatoe fries. Mine was the jalapeno and blue cheese burger. Both were well prepared in a clean, trendy, sports type restaurant. Fast service and good attention from the staff. We enjoyed our lunch.

Sweet Potato Fries. Seriously, if you don't get them, you will be sorry.

    (5)
  • John H.

I love their burgers, and the siracha tacos are awesome! The fries are great, this place is one of the best in Norman! They do need to change the order at the counter element. People go to restaurants to have people take their order (especially drink orders), bring them their order, etc. That really only happens at the bar, so thank goodness the bar is decent sized. I try to go here more than I do, but I do not stay if there is not a seat at the bar.

    (4)
  • Ridge D.

Good burgers in a good place. The only part that's kind of silly is that they charge you for every bit of anything. The drink selection is pretty good and it's a good place to watch a game. The skeeball machine in the back is a challenge, but it's definitely worth a buck.

    (4)
  • Waya A.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere is nice. I cannot say I was happy with their burgers. I had the chili cheese burger which was meh at best and it was pretty dry. My husband has the Swiss mushroom and he said it had no flavor. Now, their fries are amazing! I had the garlic Parmesan fries and they were really good. My husband had the southwest fries... They were spicy but amazing!! Go for the fried if nothing else.

This is one of the better burger joints in the OKC area....granted it is in Norman and some people think that is to far to drive. If you in Norman this is a great place to stop. They have your choose of meat on a average bun with all the tasty fixings. I really enjoyed my burger and my fries. Though I would say the Tijuana fries are great conceptionaly. They were put together poorly. The burger was very good and worth another stop in. Anytime I am in Norman and wanting a burger I will stop into The Garage.

The Garage, a cute eclectic place with nice decor and superficial courteous wait staff. Really strange ordering system where you order your food in one area and alcoholic drinks in a separate area. I will add if you sit at the bar proper you can get food and drinks. Very nice selection of proteins to choose from and appetizers galore. I really want to like this place but with strange ordering system and the lackluster food it's not getting my vote. I have tried at least 7 different trips with as many different meals and have come to the conclusion that the garage puts fancy names on dishes that could be duplicated by any average cook. Notice I said cook not Chef., the Parmesan cheese fries for example are exactly what they are. Give them credit for describing what your getting but restrain yourself from expecting anything fancy. Pricing is high for the average but low quality and quantity of food so you must be paying for the atmosphere. I am a beer drinker finding the selection as varied and average yet the chill point was poor. Why any restaurant, grill, or bar can advertise cold beer and not have or serve it is simply amazing. My idea of a cold beer can be found at Oconnells located in the campus corner area. I will still occasionally frequent this place but my expectations are lowered now. With that in mind I may eventually rate this place high as my palette is degrading.

Delicious food, great drink specials, awesome staff, service is prompt, and very reasonable prices. My husband and I go here to watch every Thunder game. Try the Thunder up shot. The cheeseburgers are my absolute favorites. The fries are always fresh and to die for. And, best of all, there is skiball in the back.

I love The Garage! Delicious burgers and fries. Lots of food for the price. I also really like their green chili tacos. So good and not something you can find at a lot of places. The atmosphere is super cool and laid back. You order at the counter and then find a table to wait. Every time I've been we received our food in a timely manner. We went to watch 2012 Thunder playoff games and the place was PACKED. One time we got the last available table, back in the corner by the bathrooms. Not ideal, but it is awesome to see this place succeeding and becoming a local hot spot. I'm a big fan!

Great drinks Good food My only suggestion is that they change the order at the counter system and have every table waited on.

This is undoubtedly the best burger place in Norman and most likely all of OK. Every burger is great! Try the parma/garlic fries....they are out of this world. Bar has good selection of beer and specials during Sooner games

Maybe our newest favorite upscale dive. Hamburger selections are off the reservation, and you can even have a glass of decent cheap wine! It's a noisy and lively crowd on the weekend, so don't make it your first date spot. Bonus if you love 80s music. Also for the most genuine experience, sit at one of the tall tables near the front.

The only place to go for a real burger in Norman.

Great burger joint in the heart of Norman. The Garage has a decent variety of foods, but the burgers are all I have tried. They let you choose the type of meat that you get...with options for turkey, beef, bison, or veggie. I have had the beef both times I have gone, and a friend had the bison which he declared was "insane"...in a good way, I assume. The burgers are not too greasy, but they are burgers, so expect to have grease. They are very flavorful and there are some very interesting combinations on the menu to choose from. I have tried the grilled jalapeno bacon cheesey, and the grilled onion burger. Both were phenomenal. The fries are excellent too, and I would recommend a side of them if you try it out. They have options to top the fries with things like cheese or onions and peppers....and all of those options look pretty tasty. The environment is typical for a burger/beer joint. A large bar is in the center of the restaurant and the beer options look fairly good. There are some pinball games and other arcade-type games, presumably for parties that are taking their time with food and drink and making a night of it. For a workday lunch, however, it is not too loud and the place is very clean...so it kinda appeals to a wide variety of groups. I'll be going back and will certainly recommend it for friends and family!

At the garage you get to choose your own protein. I thought this was awesome, there are not many places that offer this. The protein choices are beef, turkey, bison and veggie burger. I had the classic burger with bison well done. The meat was flavorful and not burnt to a crisp, even though I requested well done. The bun was toasted, the tomato slices were hearty but not overpowering, they used red onions which are also sliced thickly. I had the Parmesan garlic fries. They were a nice change, but not "life changing". The fries were good, I will probably select regular fries in the future. There are two pinball games, Ms. Pac-Man and skee ball in the back, there is also a nice lit patio for smokers. I did not play, but some of the other customers were. I though this was a nice addition. The vibe of the restaurant is like a very cool garage lol, hence the name. The is a massive ceiling fan there. The beer selection was pretty decent. Had a classic High Life with my burger. I plan or returning,

Great restaurant...the ambience is amazing, the staff was extremely helpful, friendly and even comical. We had the garlic fries and the jalapeño fries which were both absolutely delicious. The burgers were equally as good, fresh and yummy! There were four of us and everyone was happy with the food. We ordered two orders of fries for the four of us and it was enough. The pricing was quite reasonable, and although we didn't have any alcoholic beverages, the menu was adequate and priced well also. The restaurant was crowded when we got there and we had to search for a table. The waitress realized we were looking and came to us with an offer of a booth that just opened up. She insisted on thoroughly cleaning it before allowing us to sit down. Just another example of the great service.

Very tasty burgers that come on beef turkey or bison. The sides were also good. Solid sweet potato fries and fresh salads. Sports bar like atmosphere. While not the very best burgers ever, the garage is still a great choice for a decent price. Only complaint is the lack of parking downtown. It also gets crowded because of how popular it is.

Let me start by saying I never liked burgers til I had Nic's in Oklahoma City. I have spent 4 years in Fort Worth/Dallas metro looking for a burger I like as much. (Gave up unless you like a thin diner burger...like Fred's in FW) Having said that I have learned alot about burgers. There are 3 kinds....thin(diner burgers) thick(pub burgers) and thin that stack them(to make them pub) This is the third..... and it is very good. What you need to know is they cook them med. to med well, unless you ask for medium or rare. They have great burger recipes and combinations. Everyone bragged about the parm fries but we found ours over cooked. I had the jalapeno bacon burger and thought it was great. My husband had the green chili burger and it was so wet and running it fell apart in his hands and he was very unhappy. Anyway, having been every place in Norman for years I loved it. I do not care for chains and they had several burgers that sounded interesting. The white buns were sweet and homemade tasting! I heard they have wheat that help juicy burgers not fall apart so easily. Anyway.....it's not Nic's in Oklahoma City, but it is open late (Nic's closes at 3 in the afternoon and not open on week-ends) so I would recommend The Garage to anyone. It's a friendly, local, sports bar and a nice welcome to Norman dining scene!

Bison burger was top notch. Sweet potato fries were good. They do rush you in and out of there, which is the only knock.

Freaking Awesome!!! I ate there 2 weeks ago and I am still thinking about how good it was. How can you go wrong with a place that has Elvis Pinball??? After a bad dining experience today somewhere else, I thought "no one really writes good reviews"...so here is one. I got the Buffalo burger (an extra$2) it was great. Lean, moist and fresh tasting. I got the burger dressed with real blue cheese and some sort of peppers I can't remember what they call it. I think for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 1 soft drink and one import beer it was $20...a super fair price! Friendly staff, nice laid-back atmosphere, good food, great beer selection... I'll be back, and often!

I like this place I do, but really i can only give it a 3 stars for their burgers. The burger itself was good, but I didn't feel that it was "gourmet." I felt they were on the same level as Five Guys or In and Out Burger, with the exception they have specialty burgers. One thing I really like is the option of what protein you want. They have, veggie, beef, buffalo, and turkey. The bun was simple, just the old run of the mill bun. Something I could buy from the grocery store. When I'm going to a sit down restaurant for a burger I want to see a good bun. The veggies on the burger were fresh and yummy and the meat was cooked good. They do have a good selection of fries, sweet potato, regular, loaded with lots of different things. Definitely better then fast-food fries. All in all I wasn't that impressed, i liked my burger but it wasn't that orgasmic explosion I was craving. I will definitely go back because it's a cool spot. The decor was awesome from the license plate wall to the old phone booth. Great hang out spot for hanging and boozing. UPDATE: 9/30/12 The hubs and I went here for some linner (lunch/dinner) and I still stick to my 3 star review. I think the reason I am unsatisfied with this burger is because they do nothing with the bun. They don't toast it or anything. So by the time your burger is delivered to you it's on the verge of being to soggy, so you have to eat it really fast to avoid it becoming a huge mess. I tried the turkey for my burger this time and it was really good. Also, tried the garlic park fries and I would recommend those!

Laid back place with an adult crowd (no drunken undergrads), great burgers and delicious fries. The garlic parmesan fries had raw minced garlic - literally breathtaking, but they smelled so good. Surprisingly sophisticated cocktails. Friendly staff. Nice experience, good food and drinks.

one of my favorite burgers around. the food is incredible. you can sub buffalo or vegetarian options for your beef patty on all the burgers, and you can add a fried egg too. you don't have to push it that far for the food to be good though. it's walk up ordering with waiter service and i haven't had a bad experience yet. always friendly and timely. they also have some of the best fish tacos in town, and the best nachos too. french fries come a variety of ways, and they're all good. definitely recommend trying out different things when you go to experience it all. great place for kids as they have some arcade games and skeeball in back. go!

We visited during the Norman Music Festival. Despite the fact that it was a packed house, we had quick service. The menu is not extensive. They have some burgers and some tacos. You walk in and order at the bar, then take a number and put it in a coke bottle at your table. Your server then brings you your food. I had a classic burger, and my husband had a sriracha burger. We shared sweet potato fries. The classic burger was yummy! It reminded me of the patty from Meers. It's not a frozen patty. These are real burgers. My husband's burger had blue cheese, also yummy. The sweet potato fries were not overly greasy, or mushy, but they were perfect. Yummy food and fast. We'll be back. We have to check out the tacos too.

The place is nostalgic and fun. Burgers were juicy, and flavorful. Sraracha burger was spicy with jalapeños and blue cheese. Very good! Hubby had grilled onions burger but came without lettuce, tomato. Will know next time to ask for veges. Garlic Parm fries really good! All in all great meal!

I freaking love this place. When it's completely dead or absolutely, standing-room-only slammed, I've gotten top-notch service, both from the bar staff and from the food counter. This is my Norman bar of choice for Thunder games...and I've been in so frequently that the staff and I are largely on a first-name basis. That I am a regular at a sports bar is ludicrous, but if I had to design the sports bar of my dreams, this is pretty close. Be warned, though: It is NOISY, and not just during games. High ceilings and loud-ish music mean everyone is a little bit yell-y, but the overall environment is a fun one, and I don't mind it as much here as I do in other bars. The drinks are reasonably-priced, especially if you stick with the daily specials, and The Garage has an impressive novelty drink list. Bacon bloody Mary? Yes, please. Skittles vodka? Sure. Don't mind if I do. Jello shots in lemon peels? No, but you go ahead. The food is tasty, too. I particularly like the fried fish tacos and the spice level in the turkey burger. The slaw here is something I've tried and failed miserably to recreate at home many, many times. Love. Love, love, love.

Been here a few times since moving here. The burgers are really good. I usually get the same burger which has coleslaw on it. The fries are so good and they have different choices of aioli to dip them into, the garlic aioli is great. I like it because I can go have a burger and a couple drinks for under $20. The atmosphere is nice and they play music which is cool but sometimes it feels like I have to shout to whoever Im there with. I usually sit at the bar and the bartenders have all been pretty cool and nice. Definitely would go back.

A friend of ours from Norman told me that this place had the best burgers ever. I've heard that about so many burger places that I no longer pay close attention, but he was right. The burgers and fries here are so good. Probably the best burger I've had in years. I had the Bleu burger which had fried jalepenos, blue cheese and I think there were also fried onions. Its lucky I don't live here, because I would be back often for this burger. I chose to eat the Buffalo, but the folks in our group who had beef were just as happy. I also had the parmesan/garlic fries and those were tasty. The best news is, it isn't too expensive. Also, its got great atmosphere.

As others have said, the burgers are messy which I believe is due to the bun. Otherwise, very tasty and I'm not really a burger person! I had the buffalo burger, classic style and it was very good with an order of fries! Prices were reasonable and seating was limited on the Thursday evening we were there, but a very cool decor and I'm looking forward to going there again and trying the sweet potato fries.

Loved it! I had the cheeseburger and garlic parmesan fries and they were great. I went a little after 5pm and there was only 1 more couple in there and didn't get busier until about 5:30 so we ordered and got our food quickly. I also spent about 30 minutes playing pinball and skeeball. I loved the decorations (old garage pictures and signs) and 80's music (not too loud). It was a little too dark though but what garage isnt?

I have been here 2 and a half years and have been saying that one day, I will go and ponder around downtown Norman. Haven't done so yet (due to working and family life). My husband wanted to take me out to lunch one day, and took me to a place that his boss's -is that the right spelling? it's supposed to be plural. oh, screw it. well, he brought me to this little joint. so we go inside and begin our little food journey. you have an option of what type of meat you want your burger to be. SCORE!!! i don't eat hamburger anymore (it bothers my stomach. think about it folks......next time you eat hamburger, see if it bothers your tummy. stop eating that sh*t). its between hamburger, turkey (which i got) buffalo and veggie. i forget the name of the burger I got because I have a horrible memory (cry cry cry) but it had sauteed jalepenos and I know I changed the cheese (I don't do nasty american cheese) and got peppered jack cheese instead. the burger was great. the meat was juicy, wasn't too big or too small. it was just enough to fill you up but not make you miserable. my hubby and I also split a regular fry. The service was excellent. They were so cute with my kids. They got these bomb pops as dessert and the girl that brought them out made it a big deal for them. The kids loved it. I will be going back. The place is pretty cool and the food rocks. The service is great, its clean and nice. You won't be disappointed going here. Try it out, guys. Go there before a game. :-)
