Absolutely loved this place! I had been told for several years I needed to try this breakfast joint- but I never thought it could be THIS good! Yes, I'm hyped about my food. I LOVE food! But at Jimmy's, it was so cozy and sweet. We came really close to closing time and they still treated us as if there was absolutely no hurry. They close at 2pm and we got out around 2:15. I had a plain ole Chef Salad which was absolutely delicious! They only down side was the ranch was very heavy and much to sweet. Other than that, it was so yummy and perfect! I am so going back here. Keep up the good work!

This was a great breakfast spot. We got there around 7:30 before the crowd hit. They have a very diverse breakfast menu or you can order items a la cart. This came in handy for me, I got a side of bacon and a fruit cup. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting that I order a la cart. The coffee was pretty good and our drinks were refilled when needed. The service was speedy but not like they were trying to kick you out so they could use your table for the next people. It was a good relaxed place for breakfast.

I've been to this Jimmy's Egg a couple times now and each time has been a pleasure. You'd THINK if you've been to one, you've been to them all, but this is by far the best. Always clean, always friendly, always scrumptious. I love their coffee, it's the best of the diner variety. I have had the eggs Benedict which was a good Okie diner version of a classic, but the best meal I've had here was the Classic Combo. I love that this is like the Waffle House All-Star breakfast but with healthier options like low fat yogurt and turkey bacon, as well as the standards. I chose two eggs over easy (cooked JUST right with runny yolk and fully cooked white), home fries aka fried potatoes (I had know idea they were the same thing until recently. I know, I know, YANKEE), hickory smoked turkey bacon, and cinnamon raisin toast. As a great appreciator of toast, the toast is thick, buttery, crunchy yet chewy, and made as cinnamony as I would make it at home. I have only been in on weekday mornings and it wasn't hard to get a seat, but I can imagine, as with every diner, weekends are packed. I urge everyone to give this gem a try and enjoy the labor of these class act professionals in the kitchen and out on the floor. Maybe that sounds a little dramatic, but breakfast IS the most important meal of the day, and these guys do it up right.

Had breakfast here for the first time, from past reviews I was excited to try. Loved the " seat yourself"sign and the service was good. But the food was mediocre, my food was lukewarm which I was surprised by since we were there on a weekday (not too busy). My boyfriend's pancake was the best part of the meal. I gave three stars for service. Thank you for great service Jimmy's Egg!!

This is the place for a "home cooked" meal. Family needs Pancakes and scrambled eggs. This is the place! Eggs cooked to order, great coffee! Fast service, plenty of seating. Build your own breakfast! They also foo sandwiches, check those out! Open early closes at 2pm. Family is happy!

My husband I and I really enjoy Jimmy's Egg for breakfast. I can't speak to the lunch menu because we typically (always) have breakfast. The prices are reasonable and the food is hot and plentiful. I like it because if I am wanting to eat a healthy but hearty breakfast, I can order from the lite menu. If I want to be indulgent, then I definitely have many choices. My husband really likes the pancakes. I'm one of those folks who always seems to have something special--maybe a little different from the menu, e.g., hold the cheese or whatever. The wait staff always gets it right and never have an "attitude" about a customer wanting something a little different. It is quite busy weekend mornings so you may have to wait. They do have a counter that you can sit at if you don't want to get a table but it usually fills up quickly too. Although we have eaten at it. The entry set-up is a bit awkward in that you have to walk around a corner past people sitting/standing waiting on their tables to put your name in. If you don't realize that, you can end up others getting their name in before you even though they came in after you. So, don't be shy, and step on up to the host stand and put your name in. Another little tidbit...you pay at the register and the line can get quite long. Keep your eye on it and pay when the line is down even if all your party is not quite ready to leave. Or, linger a bit until the line goes down. Also, I'm almost always asked if I would like a beverage to go. I don't usually take one but I think it's nice they ask. The atmosphere is very casual and not fancy at all. It will remind you of a Denny's or IHop or other standard breakfast restaurant. They are establishing a restaurant in east Norman and we can't wait because we live in east Norman!

It wouldn't be a complete trip to Norman without a stop at Jimmy's Egg. I really do like their omelets. Made to order with my favorite ingredients. Egg whites, feta, green onions. MY FAVORITE! Their hash browns are also very good. Yummy, yummy. For some reason I wasn't as impressed this time. Maybe the newness is wearing off. Maybe I was sick of eating out at this point in my trip. Still, Jimmy's is a good place to get your breakfast on, and I will be back.

Love the omelettes. I was ready to leave for 20 minutes before I got aggravated and stopped one of the passing waitresses to get my ticket. Make sure you have lots of free time if you stop.

A favorite breakfast spot for us. Great omelets and I love their Belgian waffle. I do not care so much for their homemade bread and my husband claims that their french toast (made with this homemade bread) is some of the worst (he's pretty snobby about his french toast). Very busy on weekend mornings, if there's an OU game in town, and whenever school isn't in session. Avoid if you don't want to wait. I've always had great service at this location.

Honestly, I have enjoyed breakfast here twice now and it's of solid quality - the bacon is especially impressive! The service is quick and personable, the food comes hot and in large portions... But the host has been disorganized and air-headed both visits, who admitted he couldn't read his own handwriting, and his baggy stained clothes did not give off any sort of positive impression. Bottom line: come for the fairly-priced and tasty meal but avoid peak hours.

We went here for breakfast and were really impressed. The hash browns were perfect. I really loved my dish - can't remember the name, but it was scrambled eggs with cheese and tomatoes. Lately I have gotten the "over light" pancake combo which is delicious. Turkey sausage is excellent too. We've always gotten good service here but today Dayna was fantastic on a very busy day. She was fast, got all the special requests right and has a wonderful personality to boot! Best breakfast in Norman! We'll be back!

After having had the unfortunate experience of visiting a Jimmy's Egg in nearby Newcastle I was reluctant to enter another restaurant from this chain. My brother was treating and this was where he wanted to go. This was a very different experience from my past visit at their location in Newcastle. The waitress was friendly, attentive and obviously took pride in her job. The food was cooked as ordered and arrived promptly and hot. The location was clean - actually spotless clean. Although my first experience with this chain (food preparation and service) was so bad I am still hesitant to choose a Jimmy's Egg for breakfast, I am at least willing to dine here in their Norman restaurant again. Too bad this wasn't my first experience - I did enjoy this location.

One of my favorite breakfast joints when my wife doesn't feel like making breakfast. I had the meat breakfast. (sausage links, bacon, ham, biscuits/gravy, eggs, hashbrowns) The ham had a nice smoky flavor. The sausage links were great. My only problem is that you have to add salt/pepper, mostly pepper. (although I do love my pepper) Atmosphere is that of a Luby's cafeteria in an abandoned mall. Service is adequate. They're only open till around 2. The food is what really matters.

If you have lived in Oklahoma for any length of time, there is a strong chance you've eaten at, or at least driven by, a Jimmy's Egg. There has been one in Norman at a couple of locations for many years. I may have spent a few high school mornings at Jimmy's Egg at its old location in Carriage Plaza on Main Street. This Jimmy's Egg is clean and well kept. Service, in my visits, has been fantastic. Can't say enough about it. Very friendly, prompt, courteous, but they leave you alone and let you eat. Experienced and friendly servers in my experience. The food is very basic breakfast food. You've got omelets, scrambles, griddle items, biscuits and gravy, etc. I've had the cheddar bacon pancakes, and I was expecting a lot more. I didn't get any cheddar flavor, I could see it in there, but didn't taste it. Additionally, the pancake was too thick for my tastes. So, I was left with just a taste of thick cake with no cheddar and only some bacon. Disappointing execution of what could be a very good pancake. I've had scrambles, which are good, typically they are served over what Jimmy's Egg calls home fries, but what they actually are is diced up cooked potatoes. I consider home fries to be chunky potatoes with seasoning and some kind, and usually some sort of vegetable mixed and cooked (typically via pan frying) with the potatoes. These are not pan fried, it seemed like they were baked potatoes that were just chopped up without seasoning. After that, all the stuff in your scramble is piled on top. My last scramble wasn't hot. It was warm, but the cheese needed more time to melt. They are certainly large, so if you're looking for a huge breakfast they are a good value. I would describe this Jimmy's Egg as a better quality Denny's. Even though there are a ton of Jimmy's Eggs throughout the state, it is still an Oklahoma chain. So, I will give my money to a local business over a national chain if I can. Ultimately this is a standard breakfast menu that, in my estimation, could use some more seasoning and time when meals are being prepared.
