My Place Bar-B-Q West Menu

The place was very low scale. First off they only have a 2 meat combination platter. I like to sample the meats and usually order three or four meat combos. Not here though. The turkey came out like I just ordered from a deli sliced and it had no flavor. The brisket came out with more fat than meat. They only have one bbq sauce on the table. If they have more they didn't offer any. The brisket had a very so so flavor. I've at twice at the billy sims bbq here in this town and it is ten times better.

Not impressed, but I'd eat here again. My only real complaint is being charged almost 5 bucks for a bowl of iceberg lettuce and a little diced tomato...at least throw some onions in there or something! Beef brisket was okay, if a little too greasy. Ribs were tender and fell off the bone. Sides were what you'd expect from a bbq place. Not a destination place, but good in a pinch. :)

So yummy.....wish they served breakfast all day. The best country food I've had in a long time.

Omg me and my husband was in drive through and we saw the employees not using gloves so who knows if their hands were clean! I saw one of the staff grabbed a stack of bread with his bare hands and toss it in the first pan. Another staff grabbed a handful of fries with her bare hands and tossed it in the fryer also. Are they not aware that people at the drive through can see them? Quite disgusting after seeing that! The health department should go monitor for a week at least!

First, it's important to know the servers and wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food isn't up to the same standards. Someone from Texas, South Carolina or Kansas need to teach them what BBQ is. Sliced beef is sliced, not chopped. Chopped beef is chopped, not mush. I usually give restaurants several chances because anyone can have an off day. But I won't be going back to My Place West - ever.

First off, there are 2 My Place BBQ's in Muskogee. This one to my knowledge separately owned from the other one that I really like. This one is not nearly as good. The ribs are bland as hell with little seasoning and not cooked long enough. The chopped brisket is mediocre at best, and the baked beans taste like they are out of a can. The best part was the sliced bread that I got. This isn't an off day, it's like this every time after 3 tries to give it a shot. I'm not sure why locals crow about it, must some bias because it's next door. The other one across town is way better and has a buffet and ribs are actually SMOKED and well rubbed.

Wait staff was unfriendly. Waitress didn't help with questions about the menu. Chopped beef sandwich looked and tasted like Manwich sloppy joes. The beef literally was covering half the bun. The bun was toasted too much to the point where it cut my mouth trying to chew it. Okra was tough and chewy. Fries were burnt. If you're going to have thin "fresh cut" fries, learn to cook them not to the point of burning them. They did not have pulled pork for all you pulled pork lovers.

We wanted a BBQ lunch. I was hungry for a pulled pork sandwich. This restaurant had pretty good reviews and all of its ads featured a pig. There is no pig other than ribs to be found at this place. No pulled pork sandwich, no pork butt, ... Mrs. Eva ended up with a chopped brisket sandwich and it was pretty good, but her fries were limp and greasy. Special of the day was bologna. It was good as were the beans and slaw. The Texas toast was a puddle of greasiness. The waitress was OK, but not exceptional. The cashier had a non-existant personality and didn't even thank us for eating there. I will find a different BBQ next time I'm in town.

The BBQ is good, but the atmosphere is not much. I wouldn't say to skip it, but it's nothing to write home about.

Great treasure in Muskogee! I was referred by a toll collector on the nearby turnpike en-route from CO to NC as I asked for nearby restaurant with good food. As we entered Muskogee, we saw the My Place sign and when we saw the parking lot, we were "in". Quick & pleasant service, friendly staff, good menu....GREAT barbecue and sides....GREAT iced tea. This was the food highlight of our trip and it is now in the GPS for return trips. Folks, there's REAL bbq in Muskogee and if you haven't tried it, hurry....it's worth the visit!

We will be back! On our road trip through Muskogee we looked at reviews and chose Runt's. It was not open (this is a Monday, but hours were not listed on Yelp). I had rhe smoked bologna sandwich. Smoked then grilled, on a toasted bun. Ask for extras, such as mustard, etc. It was SO good. Fresh cut fries were "be careful they're hot" hot and perfect. Again, plain and simple, but good, as was the coleslaw. Great service, friendly people. We will be coming back this route so I can have another smoked bologna sandwich. Restaurant is sit down and order. Filled with locals. Entire meal came to $17.00. Two each teas, sandwiches and fries and a side of coleslaw. Worth every penny.

A decent down-home kinda place. I had the special, which was ribs. Very meaty and well cooked/seasoned. I'd go back. Servers were very friendly and fast.

We stopped by on our way from Dallas to Tenkiller, OK. It was my father in law's go to BBQ place growing up. He wanted to take us there to see if the food was as good as he remembered. It is definitely worth driving any distance out of the way to eat at. I got the barbecue plate....big portions, good price! The brisket was nicely smoked, moist and tender .... delicious, as were the fries and toasted bread...yum. The beans were the only part that was a bit lackluster...but even so, they were still pretty good. They have 2 barbecue sauces, one spicier than the other, both very unique. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was packed...clearly a popular place. Our waitress was friendly and we got our food fast. Even though it was very crowded all the staff went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. The place has a great mom and pop atmosphere. Whatever they've been doing for the last 40 or 50 years is clearly working for them. I can't wait to go back the next time we travel through the area!

I had lunch here while visiting family in the area. The place was busy and it is clear it is a local favorite. I had the combo plate so that I could try the different meats they had. After I had sampled the ribs, turkey, brisket and hot links I found the ribs the best. The turkey was just alright, mostly just thick sliced deli turkey, nothing to note. The brisket was pretty good, actually better than it looked. It looked overcooked but it tasted good. Ribs were good and I would order them again. The homemade French fries were a winner as well. Service was great especially since they were busy and the prices and portions were good too.

Was in the area for business and I had heard about this place from a co-worker so needless to say the expectations were fairly high to begin with. However, this place did not dissapoint in anyway. I went on a Thursday night and place was busy but was sat immediately and the waitress was nice and made me feel at home. As to the meal I ordered the combination plate in order to try as much as I could and got the chicken, ribs, brisket and hot links. The chicken was as good as chicken can be considering it is chicken. However the brisket and dry rub ribs were the true stars of this meal. As side dish get baked beans (which were great) and texas toast. I came out of this place fat and happy! I will definitely be heading back if I am ever in area for business again.

This place was absolutely packed when I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday; after finding a few seats in the back, our friendly waitress very quickly came out to take our drink orders. A copy of the menu is available at each table, and daily specials are posted on the whiteboard up front (Tuesdays: rib dinners and ... something else I can't remember). I went with the chopped beef sandwich ($3.90), fried okra, and cole slaw ($1.40 for each side). The prices certainly don't hurt, and the food wasn't bad. Toasted bun, flavorful sauce that didn't overwhelm, freshly fried okra ... I can't complain. Another reviewer commented on the iced tea; while I didn't have any, someone at the next table was certainly happy with his. All in all, a nicely inexpensive pit stop just off Highway 69.

Stopped for lunch with family. Ordered chicken, ribs, and smoked brisket. Fast, efficient service even though very busy. Great ribs! Really liked chicken too. Great place to stop.

Very good classic BBQ. The service was great, the food came out quickly, the portions were perfect, and the flavor was perfect. Its not a place to wear your Sunday best to but its not a place you should miss. I recommend this place for a casual lunch or dinner.

Aamzing BBQ for the $ Visiting Tulsa and we were on a word of mouth search for BBQ. This place had better ratings than their main locations, so we sought out My Place West. We ordered... 1/2lb Pork ribs 1/2lb sliced brisket slaw fried okra Ribs - southern dry rub style, medium smokeyness (more than most I've had so far), falls off the bone, tender. Brisket - not as tender as expected, little dry but good smoke and dry rub Slaw - standard, sweet with a little vinegar Fried Okra - still can't handle the texture of Okra, but I thought 'd give it another try with my guest Overall, really good, better than any BBQ in the Bay Area, CA. I would come here again, it's a local flavor, blue collar joint. About $19.00 out the door, with a $4.00 tip!!!!! Did I mention you can get a sandwich for $3.50!!! Amazing BBQ without the amazing dent in your pocket.

On a Saturday drive, got a bit hungry, went on yelp, needed to soak up some beer from the night before, and found My Place Bar B Que. Every Friday and Saturday they have all you can eat ribs with sides and Texas toast. Guess what bob ordered? Yep, the ribs. He absolutely loved them. He even said he may have liked them better than his own! Amber, was our server. Very attentive and very informative. Really, kind gal. We will be back. Makes for a great motorcycle ride from Tulsa. (Or convertible:))
