Volcano Sushi Bar & Hibachi Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Because I'd rather you not eat my share, I'm hesitant to say so... but, the Hamachi Kama at Volcano Sushi Bar & Hibachi is the best in town. If you're a fan of yellowtail, the cool, clean sashimi best dipped in ponzu, and you haven't had the collar, simply grilled and dressed with a little lemon (maybe ponzu, too), you should. It's so good. Hamachi Kama isn't always available (n.b. huffingtonpost.com/2013/… ), but shrimp tempura is. And that'll rock your socks off, too. Maybe it's the light panko breading; maybe it's the ethereal sauce. In my experience, there are just a few pieces of jumbo shrimp, served with a few pieces of perfectly cooked vegetable tempura. So happy. Rolls are perfect- not overly stuffed or poorly filled. Only once did we choose a roll we weren't satisfied with, and our waitress worked to make sure we left happy. Sashimi is always excellent. Though the tuna we had today was most likely maguro, it was tender and flavorful enough to rival otoro- actually, I should have asked our server! We've always had friendly service at Volcano, though occasionally we've experienced the slightest language barrier. I don't mind that; both front and back of house... know sushi (and everything else on the menu, whether Americanized or not). Don't let the pedestrian location turn you off; inside is fine for a casual meal, lunch or dinner, any day of the week (!).

I got sick after eating here...I ordered their tempura udon and shared a Earthquake (?) roll to share, but was immediately hitting the restroom afterwards...and for the entire night after. Just my personal experience from this place, people I went with were fine. However the taste of the udon was so bland. I've been to Japan and had udon from LOTS of places-it's one of my favorite foods- and this places udon is so blah. There's like no flavor in the broth at all. I had a miserable experience here.

If I could give this place a 0 star I probably would have. First, our waitress was not very friendly. When I asked why we didn't get a hand roll she said we never specified to her when we did... Second, we waited over an hour to get out food. Wasn't even busy only about 4-5 other tables. Ridiculous. Third, the rolls were not very good... I'd rather go to gogo or hayashi or sushi neko and get better quality rolls. Salmon was a yucky pink color and the plumpness of the salmon was not there. Tuna had a smell that meant it was out for far too long. This place has horrible quality of food and I am never going to waste my time and money here again.

OK. Look. It's a sushi bar in a strip mall in Moore. What do you expect when I say those words to you? "Hey, you want the best sushi I've had in the entirety of Oklahoma -- the state, not just the city? GO TO THIS STRIP MALL IN MOORE I SWEAR IT'S GOOD JUST TRUST ME." Because it is. It is the best sushi I've had in Oklahoma, bar none. We dined on several rolls, including two hand rolls (one was hilariously named the SPICY OMG ROLL, which totally sold me just from its use of teenage vernacular). I am ashamed to admit this was also the first time I've experienced the wonder that is seaweed salad. I KNOW. You can stop yelling at me. I KNOW. Everything we had was fantastic and elicited alternating groans and happy smiles. The rainbow roll (cucumber and crab mix with tuna, red snapper, avocado and salmon on top) blew my everloving mind. Just ... boom. So, fine. You want a shortened version of the divine? THESE ROLLS ARE AMAZE AND YOU SHOULD GO NOW. Seriously. Why are you still reading this?

One of the best sushi places in the okc area and one of the best restaurants in Moore. Simple and casual atmosphere, friendly staff and great food.

This is one of the few places I have been able to find that actually uses fresh fish and ingredients. Everywhere else it's frozen, cheap, or fake. (Ex: Sushi Bar) I live in Edmond and I drive out of the way every week to come here because it's THAT good. Seriously amazing sushi. And they always cut up cucumber slices for my 15 mo old to eat. The staff is always friendly and pleasant and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. If you're looking for REAL sushi & sashimi, go here. It's the bees knees.

One of the best hole in the wall sushi places in Oklahoma! We had the OKC roll, the baked crawfish roll, and spaceship roll. For appetizer we ordered the squid salad and it is amazing! I loved my experience and the service here is terrific! I'm rarely ever in Moore but this will be our go to place when we visit.

Small dining room. Excellent service. Hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken. Both were well flavored with beautiful plating. We shared a creme brûlée with thin, crispy top and silky custard. Thanks Yelp for helping us find this gem.

Just wanted to update: We recently moved across the street from Volcano, and boy is that bad news. The place is still GREAT! And being so close, I want to go there every day! Haha. The service is always fabulous, the food is always great, and the price is still great as well!!!! It's a MUST!

I'd say this is a pretty good Sushi Bar overall, especially considering the 'land-locked' location and very reasonable prices! I kept it simple by ordering a Bento Box with Eel Roll & Spicy Tuna options, and an additional Rainbow Roll..... The rice, the most crucial ingredient, was cooked well. In the rainbow roll, I detected an aftertaste of black pepper.... in Sushi? The chef confirmed it, and said it's an 'adjusted' taste for the region.... It's not authentic, and it doesn't work... The eel roll had barely any eel in it, but plenty of cucumber. The spicy tuna was fine.... These were minor annoyances though..... This place is worthy of a four star review otherwise....

The best sushi I have had in the Okc area!!! We have only been a few times but plan to be customers for a long time to come. They have AMAZING staff and the food couldn't be better!!! They also have a sushi boat that you can request if you have a group of people as well as a dish that is on fire and so on. They really strive to make it an amazing experience!!!

This place was great. Went for a Sunday Lunch: Lite pop music playing in the background. A 5/6 page menu of choices. 1.5 pages of sushi rolls. One whole pages dedicated to just the speciality rolls they have. (See my pics for the menu as of 10/18/2014) Got 4 rolls and even the least favorite one, was good... Just not as good as the other 3. Parking seemed okay for the day, night time could be problematic. Wait staff was attentive and typical. (But there wasn't any other tables in the restaurant. So... It was all about us.

I'm always looking for good sushi spot with some Japanese food to eat at, so I decided to stop in see what they had and order something, I have been to this location several times I've had a seaweed salad, gyoza, some teriyaki chicken and rolls etc.. The place is clean and looks nice inside. The staff is friendly and courteous the food probably what you expect from any sushi place that does it fair in Oklahoma City. But when I say that I mean the sushi and food here is good. Definitely check it out if you're near the I 35 location or the one on sooner Road.

Volcano is AlWAYS on point. It has yet to disappoint. By far the freshest sushi I've had in this area. All of the rolls are delicious and the hibachi is wonderful as well. The Sake Roll is my go-to, but we've tried a majority of the speciality rolls and they were all fantastic. Volcano does tend to get crowded on Fridays and Saturdays, so plan accordingly. If you haven't tried Volcano, you need to!

Was browsing yelp one day looking for a good lunch spot. Guess what?? I found it. I am a bit of a sushi snob and haven't found many places in the OKC area that I really think has top notch sushi. We ordered the shrimp tempura to start with. Next up was 4 sushi rolls. We ordered the dream, lucky lady, baked crawfish and the snow mountain. Every one of these rolls were fresh and delicious. I usally order extra eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side at most places. I didn't need to with these rolls are they were some of the best I have had in the OKC area. So I guess I now have 2 places in the area that I will go to when wanting to eat sushi. I deffinately recommend this place.

Was craving sushi and this place has the best rating for the area..I was definitely pleased with my choice. The food was amazing and the service was even better than that. The guys at the sushi bar made great recommendations and kept us entertained throughout our meal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for sushi in the Norman/Moore area.

Favorite sushi place that we've tried in the metro. Tried MANY of their special rolls and they're all great. Prices are good, in my opinion. Rolls are big, they don't skimp. If you think you'll be a lunch regular, you HAVE to get the Bento Box special. Get two items, soup, salad. I go with a roll and the chicken katsu. A lot of food for cheap ($8-9?). And get the punch card...5 boxes gets you a free one!

Best sushi in Moore. Great service, efficient takeaway packaging, and friendly staff.

  • Meghan B.

Absolutely love this place. The sushi rolls I have had are very fresh and imaginative! The Christmas Tree roll and the Godzilla roll are wonderful! When I come here for the lunch bento box, I normally get a simple roll with vegetable tempura or pork dumplings. Both of which are tasty!! The Miso soup is actually pretty good, and the service is quite nice as well. Oh, and if you get a wild hair, have a sake bomb. They are awesome! I am very satisfied with Volcano, and I will definitely continue to eat here!

not great. I think it is popular because it is the only sushi place in the area. One of the worst sushi places in the Okc Metro.

One of my favorite sushi spots. I've eaten sushi all over Oklahoma and the country. Volcano Sushi is my number 1 spot in Oklahoma with a place in Tulsa in a close 2nd. Even today I called in a order. They were extremely helpful and polite even though I couldn't remember the menu perfectly (more like barely), but I get my food and included in it is a nice hand written note about the rolls I ordered and which sauces that went well together. It's the little thing that really make the difference sometimes. Courtney signed the note though I do not know her. Thank you Courtney!

  • Brian V.

Very friendly environment. Provides a free cucumber appetizer. And the sushi is not over loaded with rice. Definitely recommend the Okc roll (lobster tempura, crab, avocado with sear salmon). And the service is nice. Walked in and immediately got a table and served. Satisfied :)

  • Ross S.

Great service, great sushi, great prices. The place was clean and we were seated immediately, they didn't have a card to fill out so you have to remember all that you want to order. But the staff was very friendly and patient with you. I'm not a sushi guru but the quality was on par with other great sushi places I have been to, with the added benefit of the prices being lower in my opinion. Definitely falls into the "hole in the wall" category, but this place was worth the trip and worth going back again when the sushi craving hits.

I recently tried this place for lunch. I had hot green tea, ginger salad, and the sashimi lunch entree. The green tea, I don't know since I'm not a tea connoisseur, but it kept me warm so, it was fine. Salad as my friend mentioned tasted frozen then thawed, it was terrible. I didn't eat it after one bite due to the greens being wilted and not crisp. I am picky about that. My sashimi however was very fresh, and I loved the super white tuna and salmon pieces, yummy! Service was also fast, friendly. This place inside is dim and small, overall I thought it was pretty good, and will be back.

This may be my new favorite sushi place in the OKC metro. A certain location on N. Western has been our go-to place for years, but we stopped at Volcano after a Moore area visit and got our socks knocked off. Great apps and salads, fresh nigiri, creative rolls... We didn't try dessert, but otherwise, we walked away very impressed. The decor is nice and appropriate, and the prices are justified. The Missus, who is quite the sushi critic, was wowed, which speaks volumes. We'll definitely be back.

Oklahoma sushi....actually had sashimi and it was worth going to. If you have the craving hit them up....nice environment, nice people and cute wait staff, friendly and very giggly. ....I give them two thumbs up.

Read the reviews so we went .. started off with an order of sashimi yellow-tail.. it was not good !! sent it back .. ordered a variety of rolls including Christmas tree, kill bill, earthquake, and a few others they were edible but not real great.. Its a sushi bar in OKC in a strip mall that's pretty much the summary wont be going back..

Finally tried Volcano sushi. Pretty good sushi but seemed a little pricey. Their specialty rolls are good and have a good presentation. The tuna martini appetizer was tasty but the presentation could have been better

A tale of two visits. On the first visit, my wife got an obscene amount of carry out. Seriously, they laughed at us. The shrimp tempura was cooked to perfection and the spicy tuna rolls were fantastic. The second visit wasn't as pleasant. The service was pretty poor. None of the wait staff looked like they wanted to be there. The pork katsu was tough and the spicy tuna was meh. I'm willing to forgive a poor lunch service because the first visit was THAT good. I'll definitely give it another go!

Food is good, but service sucked. Waitress slammed water down, repeatedly asked are you ready in a short rude manner and walked away when we had trouble deciding. She brought the check wen we where still want to order the desert we also ask for napkin that's she's never bring it for us !

If there was ever a perfect name for a restaurant that perfectly describes it's chef, it's Volcano sushi bar & Hibachi. Owner, Chef Hen/Henry, is exactly this; a rupture of exciting, Nouveau, multinational innovative cuisines all rolled into one master package of perfection. Born in Taiwan, Henry, like myself is a true vagabond In space & time. He is the only other chef I know that has also worked and lived in Taiwan, NYC, and OKC. Not at the same time unfortunately, we were more like passing ships, I was in his home country of Taiwan working, while he was working in my home town of NYC, now amazingly we both ended up here. Sitting and talking with Henry about Taiwan, NYC, Hong Kong, Taiwanese food, Chinese food, Japanese food, sushi trends etc., brings back such beautiful memories & experiences of all the amazing dishes we both have eaten abroad, studied, prepared and honed our personal culinary chef craft in during the process. As well as how our culinary paths led us here. Taiwanese food being a mash-up of the cuisines of Min Nan, Teochew and Hokkien. In particular, Taiwanese cuisine is often associated with influences from mid to southern provinces of Mainland China, most notably from the province of Fujian/Hokkien. A notable Japanese influence also exists due to the period when Taiwan was under Japanese rule. Traditional Chinese food can also be found in Taiwan, alongside Fujian and Hakka-style as well as native Taiwanese dishes, including dishes from Guangdong, Jiangxi, Chaoshan, Shanghai, Hunan, Sichuan and Beijing. As it is inevitable living/working in Taiwan to learn & experience all these culinary influences. It's where the East meets the West. As we were talking the other day about this and our time in Taiwan, Henry says, "People think differently in Taiwan, more open minded." Having said this, it's no surprise that Chef Hen eventually married a lovely Chinese woman that also works along side him at Volcano. In fact, it's a family business, with his father & brother in law working there as well. His staff is also a mix of Taiwanese & Chinese. When you put all this talent under one roof, Henry, his wife, father, brother in law & incredible staff it's sure to be "Volcanic" to say the least. Henry, has trained in many restaurants, in different countries, developing his palette. His natural born talents & abilities to distinguish the difference between the subtleties of the regions & cuisines are present in his many delectable dishes. Simply put, his food is amazing. It's not only spot on in the classic Japanese dishes like his many giant hand rolls, A personal fave! The tempura is spot on cooked perfectly. Thanks to his father who is the tempura chef. You will see him shuffling about carrying plates of perfectly cooked tempura for his sushi chefs to complete those amazing special rolls, the classics, as well as the American influenced ones. Last time I ordered Japanese fried rice to take home. The fried rice, especially the combo fried rice (it's not on the menu you have to ask for it) is to die for! The rice he uses is first crop. Just like all his other ingredients, top notch. Not like any Chinese fried rice you will ever have. If you want to die and go to fried rice heaven don't leave without trying his version ;) As far as the special sushi rolls go this is where Henry's NYC American experience & influences kick in like the "American Roll" (shrimp, eel, crab, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese topped with tuna) you won't find this in Japan, only in America! Mainly for the sushi beginner :) His more innovative rolls like the "Christmas tree" (spicy tuna roll in the bottom, tuna Tataki in the middle, seaweed on top) is a slice of amazing genius! Lol All his creative special roll "names" have just as interesting combination of "flavors" to match! To name a few, the Dream On, Earthquake, Godzilla, Junky Monkey, Lover, OKC roll, Kill Bill roll, Los Angeles roll, Superman, Spaceship, Spider-Man, Twin Tower, VIP, & 80 Degree rolls are all American influenced rolls superbly created by the Master himself. Super popular, "The mango magic" (shrimp tempura, mango, slices of tuna with a lemon sauce on top) is as beautiful as it is tasty ;) From the amuse bouche to the yaki soba, curry & Nabeyaki Udon YUM! the hibachi, EVERYTHING I've had has been excellent here. You just can't go wrong. Like it's namesake "Volcano" its a Volcanic culinary explosion like the legendary ring of fire only its right here in OKC! LOL The best of the best from where the East meets the West, Henry is not only a master chef, he is a treasure to the state of Oklahoma. Don't miss the opportunity to try his masterful cuisine. Well done Chef Hen. See you soon ;)

Very good and inexpensive during the early lunch hours. I got the little sushi lunch box with shrimp tempura rolls and crab rolls. The crab rolls were plain (but good), but that may just be a matter of preference, but the shrimp tempura was excellent. The salad it came with was your normal run-of-the-mill variety, but the sauce it comes with totally makes it! The fried rice isn't phenomenal, but it's still good. Hard to mess up fried rice! Their egg drop soup is also rather tasty. I ordered for take out, but the wait staff when I got there were very nice and full of smiles. A smile goes a long way for a brief encounter.

Pretty yummy sushi! They have good deals on lunch specials. I had the Oklahoma roll, and green tea. The green tea tasted like I was drinking green colored water. Besides that everything else was yummy. I really enjoyed the miso soup, it was very flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and the place was hopping!

This is definitely the best sushi restaurant in Okc. I usually don't write on yelp but I created an account just to compliment on this restaurant. I lived in many cites in the US before such as NYC Phoenix LA and Vegas. I've also visited Tokyo for a week or so. The sushi here is definitely on a good level in comparison. My favorite appetizer is the Tuna Steak, the flavor is out of this world! A must try :)) Sea Urchin Nigiri is usually pretty fresh if you like it's acquired taste. The fresh oyster they have is quite amazing as well. Service here is spectacular!!. The chef always greets us w smiles and comporting words at the sushi bar. Servers will tell us what's fresh and popular on the day. Price is very reasonable in comparison to neko Overall, I love it!!

  • Sarah B.

Excellent sushi here. The sashimi dinner has amazingly fresh fish, the seaweed salad is incredible, and both the Miso soup and Clear soup are really flavorful. Nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff. I haven't been disappointed in anything I've tried here. Try the Earthquake roll!

This little place in Moore could be passed up from the highway (passed by it many a times) however i was fortunate enough to have read about this place in the paper and told myself I would visit one of these days and I am glad I did! Inside it is a bit small but let me tell ya, the food was worth it! Got sushi for 2 with my good friend Carly N and it was pleeennttty of sushi for 2 people as advertised. We had so much sushi I had to take some of it home. Along with the sushi came miso soup and a salad that came with a unique dressing that I have had before but forget the name of it (love it though!). It was around $30 ish price range for the Sushi for 2 dinner however there are much cheaper options. Then it came the coolest thing that I didnt notice when I was reading the menu, this place has Yakisoba! For those that have never tried Yakisoba it is a noodle dish that comes with various meats and vegetables, from what I've seen of OKC and the area there are only 2 Japanese restaurants that serve Yakisoba and this place is #2! The other super cool thing I discovered while at Volcano is they have a traditional Japanese dinning area in the back where you sit on the floor and eat! Volcano Sushi is a breathe of fresh air for OKC and offers a legit experience of Japanese cuisine! When your in Moore area and feel like Japanese go to Volcano Sushi!

  • Carly N.

We got the "sushi for two" deal which came with soup, salad, and two types of rolls plus some extra sushi. For $34, it was a great deal because it came with lots of food. Everything tasted great for the most part. There were several types of raw fish on our plate and some were too "fishy" for my liking. Employees are very nice. Our waitress seemed new at the job. I ordered an ice green tea halfway through the meal which I never got. I didn't bother to remind her since we were almost done eating. My friend asked for a refill on his coke and she brought back a Dr. Pepper. I knew she was gonna mess that up since she had 5 cups on her tray for refills. The restaurant was small but cozy. I liked the bamboo sticks that decorated the place.Overall, I liked this restaurant and would come back.

The only bad thing I can say bad about Volcano Sushi is my own fault. My family orders too much sushi, they bring it to us on a boat and we have to admit we're a little embarrassed. Not so embarrassed though that we don't pig out on their great sushi. Great selection of specialty rolls, we love the Sake roll and the Spiderman. Nice beer and sake selection and always good service.

Came in for an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the volcano roll appetizer to start. I'm not a fan of spicy food but the sirracha wasn't overwhelming. Excellent choice to start with. We asked for suggestions on a main sushi roll cooked. The double crunchy roll was recommended and was perfect. We also had the hibachi filet mignon and shrimp plate. The steak was cooked perfectly an the flavors were wonderful. Not over powering or distracting from the flavor of the food. Highly recommend!

Wow, I was seriously surprised by this place! I did read the reviews before heading up there, so I had high hopes and was not disappointed! Though it was a Saturday night and busy, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The service was prompt with bring out drinks and appetizers, as we waited for our sushi. The sushi was excellent! The fish was very fresh and presentation was wonderful too. We ordered the "Sushi for 2," which included 16 pieces of Nigiri sushi, 1 Dragon roll & 1 California roll (this included soup & salad). This was definitely enough food for two, even for large eaters. I also liked that they offered two different types of soups; miso & what they called "clear soup," which is the traditional Hibachi soup. Since I don't see Hibachi soup too often since moving to Oklahoma, I ordered that & it was tasty! I wanted to order so many other things, since they really have quite an extensive menu, so I'll be back!!! One warning: Ladies, watch your step with heels on their floor...the vinyl flooring is slippery and yes, I almost fell! HAHAHA....TRUE STORY! (thankfully, I didn't)

Our favorite Sushi restaurant! We have tried several places since moving here and come up wanting. Until one day when we stumbled on this place and have been hooked ever since. It is great for a date night or to bring the kids. The food is phenomenal. The service is the best out of any restaurant in town. The prices are perfect. And the ambiance is fantastic. It is very very clean every time we go. There is perfect lighting and beautiful music. The food tastes fresh and light. Can't say enough about it! I notice a couple reviews state a language barrier, but that is part of what we love about this place! There is no 'barrier'. The accent is beautiful and adds to the experience. I highly recommend Volcano!

Little sushi bar in a strip mall, but don't be fooled by appearance. The food is great, nice little place and great value. Had the lunch bento box for about $8 which was superb. Worth a visit!

There is a reason this place is so popular. I travel worldwide and often to Japan. I still consider this place to be outstanding. It stands up to the most discerning palate. You will not be disappointed.

A couple of colleagues of mine wanted sushi which is not my thing but since they also had hibachi, we decided to give this place a try. Boy am I glad we did. First, the service was great. The server was extremely attentive. Next, I had the shrimp hibachi grill which was nothing short of stupendous. It came with clear soup (excellent), a small salad, and the shrimp hibachi itself for less than 15 bucks. I also tried the fried cheesecake which was also delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

I know we are in a landlocked state and that disqualifies me from being any sort of expert on seafood. I readily admit that my experience with sushi is limited. But, Volcano's sushi is excellent in my opinion. I tried the OKC roll and a shrimp tempura roll. They were both awesome! And very reasonably priced! No complaints from me. Maybe the best sushi place in the metro? Check it out.

Driving by this place you'd never guess that it is one of the best restaurants in the area. We eat here about once a week and have tried almost every roll on the menu. Things we keep ordering over and over: Shrimp shumai OKC roll Earthquake roll Crazy jalapeno roll Banana boat dessert And of course, a couple of Asahi's! The service is great but at times there is a language barrier. Not a problem and we've always worked past it. I'd highly recommend this place.

  • K P.

Love this place. Best sushi place around, different from the rest! The crazy jalapeno, empire roll, and rainbow roll are some of my faves!! Salmon hibachi is really good too. The kids love the noodles. Staff is really friendly, too! All around great place!

I don't like Sushi so I can't tell you how good that is. But I do enjoy Hibachi style food and they don't disappoint here. When my wife and I lived up around Quail Springs we would go out for Hibachi at least once a month. Shoguns was our usual choice because the price was a few bucks cheaper a plate, usually less of a crowd, food was just as good if not better than the others most nights, and the portions were always larger so it meant a good meal to heat up for work the next day. Since moving to Moore we haven't found any Hibachi place we liked so we went without. But I have been a big fan of Volcano's since they opened. The prices are great, especially the lunch menu pricing. Food is just as good as you get from a traditional Hibachi steakhouse. The service is top notch. The only thing you don't get is the show while the food is cooking. A fair tradeoff down on this side of town I suppose.

I would say they are within the top 3 sushi places to eat in OKC metro area. Also, their hibachi grill menu is amazing and the food is some of the best I've ever had. Its never too busy to get in either.

TL;DR: Order the tuna dumplings. Anything is good, bring a friend and the tea is wonderful. After dining here, I felt ashamed I didn't order sushi that would complement the chef's skills. Everything was really good; the atmosphere was calm, the lighting dim, the decor had a lot of nuance and the servers were very cordial. We ordered the tuna dumplings (tuna wrapped on the outside with a wasabbi/avacado internior topped with sweet black caviar) and the dragon roll (just pure goodness - I don't know the ingredients). The tuna dumplings are a great appetizer, as I haven't had anything like it before. The main dishes consisted of a spicy tuna roll (deep fried), eel/avacado/salmon roll and some roll with fish and cream cheese. The most memorable was the eel/avacado/salmon as the predominant flavor was the marinated eel. I know, what a bland order of sushi. Other things that struck me as nice was the hot green tea wasn't served with a tea bag in a mug. It was prepared in advance and served not too hot (I doubt it came from a bag as it didn't have the distinct flavor of being steeped for a long period of time). Next time I'll slim down the portions and try their dessert menu items: fried ice cream (green tea, red bean and two others).

We've been here almost every week. Both lunch and dinner menus are very good selection of good rolls. Our favorite are OKC, earthquake, super duper. Service is very good and fast. I'm happy that Moore has such a good sushi restaurant now.

Say huh!???!?!? Yes, I am giving this place 5 stars because it's THAT awesome. 1) Service was spectacular. I believe the majority of the wait staff is Chinese, but who cares- the food is great! 2) Stuff for everyone. If you don't want fish, order hibachi, noodles or a rice bowl. They have a very good selection for lunch bento boxes. I hope they serve them on the weekend! 3) Alcohol? They have it, sure. Tea? Served at just the right temperature. The boo was happy about that! 4) Rolls are just the right size and do not have a lot of rice on them. I was so happy to see that! Lots of fishy meaty goodness without the overwhelming taste of rice. 5) Good selection of desserts. They have mochi ice cream, fried ice cream, chocolate lava cake... And if that doesn't work for you, go next door and get a cupcake from Baked. So, what are you waiting for? If I haven't given you enough reasons to go to this place, email me and I'll give you more!

I was really excited to try Volcano and it did not disappoint! One of the most notable things about this restaurant is the friendly staff. We walked in 30 minutes prior to when they close and they were still happy to see us. They even brought us a complimentary cucumber salad which was fresh, tangy and delicious. We ordered tempura vegetables, seaweed salad, the OKC roll and the Earthquake roll. The food was so good. I usually order seaweed salad if I see it on a menu but Volcano's is definitely the best one I've ever had. We left feeling very satisfied. I love going to GoGo Sushi in Moore, which is nearby, but Volcano offers a more relaxed environment with table service. It's also more private and comfortable inside the restaurant. This would be a great date night option. I can't wait to go back and try the hibachi.

Are you traveling on I35 on a road trip with kids? Do you like sushi? If so, this is the stop you should make! We were on our way back to Texas from Iowa at Christmas time and stopped at Volcano and were surprised, impressed, and loved the food. We had a couple of rolls and nagiri, along with Sunimono, all were tasty, the fish was very fresh and tender, and the dessert roll was delicious. Our son (5yo) ate all of his noodles, and at the end, the wait staff treated him to a candy bag (they were handing them out to all the diners, not just families with kids). All in all, a great experience and will definitely make Volcano one of our stops on our treks to Iowa.

Coming from California I was worried when my daughter said let's go to Sushi..... In Oklahoma? I visioned previously frozen soggy fish and fried rice... OH MY GOD was I wrong. Volcano Sushi was as good as our top CA sushi restaurant with even better presentation. The spicy tuna jalapeño poppers (not on menu) were amazing. We enjoyed ourselves so much we visited twice, 2nd with a bunch of friends. The staff were friendly and helpful. They went as far as running to the grocery store for cream cheese because we wanted poppers and they were out. I was very thankful they were not destroyed in the tornado May13. We WILL be back every time we visit Moore!!

Born to love Volcano(s), seen 'em on PBS! I never thought I would be able to use such an obscure musical reference in a review but now that I did you will no doubt feel as if you were also born to love Volcano when you eat at this strip mall sushi sensation! And if you know that lyric then you are already super cool so stop reading here and just go to Volcano! For Oklahoma sushi this is about as good as it gets - and I'm not even much of a sushi guy so that's saying quite a bit. Nestled right off of Interstate 35 in Moore, it is a great respite from the hustle and bustle. This is a very small location, but extraordinarily clean, with a modern spartan feel and dare I say it, very Asian. The waitstaff is amazing and they were very attentive - and authentic, as English was their second language, unless they were faking for a more authentic sushi experience. But regardless, they were exceedingly nice and they kept my tea refilled, which can be a chore. They were tipped appropriately. I was here recently for a business lunch based on the recommendation of a friend and that recommendation turned out to be spot on - and she doesn't even use Yelp! Can you imagine? So, when I opened my trusty Yelp app to see if this would be the right place for a business lunch, I was impressed to see that it was highly reviewed. And the reviews were on the mark. The clientele was really eclectic and made for some great people watching, especially in a small area. A group of guys with mowhawks came in to enjoy some sushi with some guys in business suits. Looked to me to be the second coming of Rancid and no doubt they were signing a two album deal. Ruby Soho all the way. We started with the tuna steak appetizer and it was fantastic. Lightly seared and seasoned just right plus oh so good for you. Truly a winner. For entrees we shared a garden roll; consisting of a great mix of mango, cucumber, avocado and apple - and without the annoying cream cheese that almost every sushi place that runs out of ideas tries to fill their vapid void. We also had a couple of rolls. I believe it was the OKC roll and the Superman roll...I do take umbrage with sushi roll names. Why does each restaurant try and outdo each other with their "clever" names? Oh well, I enjoyed them nontheless. The presentation was also very nicely done and more akin to much higher end sushi places that I have been. I am definitely a fan and will return. Very highly recommended. Come to think of it, our waitress even looked kind of like a little volcano with her red hair and brown dress. I'll say that you will love Volcano too but that would just be a guess, unless you write a review.

Cannot begin to express the disappointment! The rolls must be pre made, I asked for all raw extra spicy and each roll contained the imitation crab salad, had sweet mayo on top. It looks like they use the same roll for all items on the menu and just top it with a different item. They listed hot & spicy and they were all sweet?!? We ordered beer and the waitress poured it with such gusto it completely overflowed and left me with half a glass of foam ..... No offer to bring another either! Do not go if you want authentic!

Some of the best if not the best sushi I have experienced in the OKC area. Excellent presentation, great flavors, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. The rolls were very large and the flavors were soooo good! If you love sushi like I do you must try Volcano!

Best sushi in OKC!!! Beautifully displayed, fresh, fantastic flavor!! The fish is not masked by cheap toppings that get piled on like some of the other sushi places in town. The chef and wait staff were very friendly! My family will be regulars there!!!

I have been there many times and they never disappoint. I would certainly recommend that you eat there without a doubt. People are friendly nice and so are the servers and waiters

As soon as i walked in I was immediately impressed with the overall cleanliness and cool air con. I knew i was in the right place when i saw actual Japanese sushi makers behind the bar. Well i ordered a Godzilla roll that was spicy good followed by my entree of Teriyaki chicken and rice. I felt what made the meal taste great was the obvious freshness of the sushi and the tender chicken. Volcano's got a chef who cooks to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant for some great chow.

Excellent sushi. My wife and I used to live by the ocean, so we have ate some good sushi. This place is as good as any we have been to. The tuna was extremely fresh--absolutely no odor or fishiness. My wife had the saki roll and she said it was the best sushi she has ever eaten. An unexpected great place for sushi right in the middle of Oklahoma.

Excellent sushi. The sushi is more 'New York' style than most of the other options in the metro... In other words they have many traditional, healthy options that arrive on your table in absolutely gorgeous, elegant arrangements. The white tuna sashimi, which is often what I grade sushi restaurants on, was absolutely phenomenal. I was also happy to see that they had a wide range of interesting appetizers and other Japanese dishes as well. Try the shrimp dumplings appetizer, they're great. In addition, the restaurant design is quiet and elegant making for an overall fantastic experience.

Went for dinner while visiting family. Had the Christmas Roll and the 80 Degree Roll, both of which were awesome. I've been to plenty of sushi places across the east coast, and this rivals any of them. Atmosphere is cool as well.

This place is Ok. Coming from the Los Angeles area I came with low expectations. The rolls were good but had way too much cucumber to where I had to pick some out. The cucumbers weren't even fresh as they were soggy. The sashimi on the rainbow roll wasnt quite fresh as it wasnt a melt in your mouth experience. Great service, nice decor.

Comig here the vibe I got wasn't very welcoming and felt a little rushed, although they got the job done, I like to enjoy my meals and not feel like an inconvience. Just like any other sushi joint, we went here for happy hour, but to be honest for happy hour is want all that much cheaper. This place didn't really amaze me, but it wasn't bad either, I would eat here again but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Try the specials on the board as you first walk into the restaurant. It's all delicious. Cute little place with sweet staff. It's a go to for us since it's so close. Wish the specials were on a piece of paper on the table so we didn't have to strain our eyes to see the specials board.

A delicious sushi joint just close enough from the Warren and just far enough to dodge the movie night date traffic. Service is awesome and a good mix of variety rolls, noodles, bent boxes, hibachi. Oh my! My favorite roll is the Mango magic, shrimp tempura rolled with mango and topped with raw tuna and a thin sliced lemon peel.
