We went to Oliveto for an early dinner on our way from Norman to Oklahoma City. The location is right off the highway, so very easy to get to. There were two of us and we were immediately seated in a half booth right next to the bar and the open kitchen. Overall the atmosphere was cozy and nice, but I could hear the manager working the line in the kitchen the entire time and that was kind of distracting. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. They were good, as most crab cakes from anywhere are, and I was happy they served them on a bed of baby spinach. The dipping sauce served with them was tasty too. I ordered the chicken primavera for dinner. It appealed to me because of the variety of vegetables. My husband ordered steak with some kind of risotto. Our food was A-Ok, but not too special. The portions were huge, and I took as much to-go as I had to eat there. My favorite thing from the restaurant was probably the peach bellini. It was delicious! I couldn't taste the alcohol, but I could feel it. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. They seemed to take pride in getting food out as fast as possible.Overall, this was a pretty good dining experience, but we probably won't go back! There are other restaurants near this location that I like a lot better and there are other italian restaurants around that I like a lot better too.

It's okay... the service was very good though. All of their employees were very nice and timely. The food however was just okay. Not bad by any means but nothing spectacular either

My husband and I love this place. We have ordered a variety of meals, all of which have been delicious. Our absolute go to is the bread pudding dessert!!!

This place has amazing service! I went their with a group of about 12 of us. I didn't eat almost all day so I was pretty hungry when I went. One of the guys ordered an appetizer. It was really good. He ordered the Bruschetta "Sundae" Marinated tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic glaze, garlic, fresh basil and Asiago, with artisan bread. I really liked it. I had a few pieces. I really like tomatoes and I could taste all of the flavors in it. The gentleman who took our order never was phased. He had such great attention to detail. I wish most restaurants had this type of hospitality. I ordered the lasagna and I really enjoyed it. I had to tell myself not to eat the whole thing! It cost about $11. The only thing I would have changed was the bread. I wish they gave traditional Italian bread or garlic bread with your meal. Instead it came with something else. I am not even sure what it was, maybe sour dough? Two days later I warmed up my left overs and it was just as good. When our orders came out they all came at the same time. The staff would yell the dish. It was fun! Don't go in to Oliveto thinking you are going to get a traditional Italian restaurant. But do go in knowing their lasagna is great. Also, someone ordered the margarita pizza and really enjoyed it. Great service!!!

Shocked at the attention to detail for a chain restaurant. I call it a chain even though there are only 3 locations. I called around 10:45pm on Monday to make the reservation and was surprised that anyone answered and even more shocked that were very courteous. I talked to Mike the manager for the 6:45pm reservations for Friday. After checking his schedule calender he took our reservation for 15-20 people. We arrived and the tables were getting setup with silverware etc. Our waiter Bao was very attentive and informative. Ordered the Bruschetta Sundae and it was pretty good, but not the best I have had. Although it is great for a party to share. The spinach artichoke dip was excellent and out waiter automatically brought additional forchetta bread, which was a great touch. Upon the waiter's suggestion, I tried the Rosemary chicken. It was definitely a healthier option with 2 pieces of juicy chicken breasts. The spicy creamy jalapeno risotto was phenomenal. Do they sell this buy the pound? The bread pudding with ice cream was among the best I have had and can feed a family of 6. I asked about if they accept the Keep It Local card, and although they said they didn't get it in on time, they gave me a 10% discount. Win !!! On the way out Mike the manager greeted me by name and thanked me for coming in, even though I never met him. Excellent customer service. Super Win!!

Expected more for the price. I make better meatballs at home, very bland. Appetizer serving size pretty small. Margarita was more ice than anything. Wouldn't go back. I'll stick with Carino's.

Having lived in Italy I know what real Italian food taste like. This place is a nice little find in the middle of Oklahoma! Everything was portioned perfectly and the deserts are made in house! The menu has the Italian basics like chicken parmesan and lasagna but it also goes off the beaten path with Mac and cheese that has jalapeño bacon in it. My husband and I were looking for our new Italian place and we ha e found it!

Finally in Moore- a nice Italian restaurant! The Service was outstanding and the wait on a Saturday night was acceptable. Bruschetta Sundae is a must have. The food is okay and nothing outstanding sticks out after our third visit but the atmosphere and service ensure we will be back to keep trying new things on the menu.

This place looks great and has better service. I have tried several dishes here and I have yet to be disappointed. The Hearth Baked bread is tastey and the pepperoni chicken is also a wonderful dish. A good but not great selection of wine with speedy delivery of entrees and appetizers guarantees that I will be back. You must try!

This place has their act together, great concept, very helpful & attentive staff and best of all is the food. The prices are really reasonable too. Hard to find anything to complain about. My wife had the Chicken Primavera and loved it. I had the Caliente Chicken because I love spicy and the waiter recommended it. It had really good heat and was fantastic! Decent selection of wine and the bar area looked inviting. It was a great experience, just wish we lived closer because we would be regulars.

The steak that came with my country fried streak meal was pre made and microwaved when served. It tasted like a TV dinner. I expect more than this from a $12+ meal at a restaurant.

Lively atmosphere, great place to start your weekend. I appreciate they've added local beers. Great food and always good to great service. Bruschetta sundae is excellent and comes with a ton of bread. Glad Oliveto is in Moore.

Food was just okay. I make better Italian at home. Our waitress was absolutely terrible. Got our order wrong, forgot our drinks (twice) and took forever. I'm sure all the servers aren't that bad but we won't be going back.

Excited to find a new Italian restaurant near Midwest City. Wait on a Saturday night was only 20 min & true to their est. wait time. Lots of servers so tables turned efficiently. Food was good, nice selection. The only disappoint is that salad is extra & only get a slice of bread with meal unlike other Italian rest. with endless bread. Would definitely go again.

This place is really great! Food is very tasty. Very high quality and you can really notice the attention to detail in the everything, including the food. I also was very impressed with the service. Multiple attendants taking care of you.

We frequent this place when we want a night out. Its very good! We have taken several guest to this restaurant and they enjoyed it as well. The Artichoke and spinach dip is amazing! I had the GF pizza and its cooked well. One time when I ordered this item it was not cook through, it was quite soggy. Ive had it there in the past so I know they can cook it right. I did send it back to be cooked more but the manager came to my table to apologize and they are working on it right now. But then explains to me that typically GF pizzas are soggy, I would have to disagree because Mazzios (not my favorite pizza place by far) has never disappointed me on their GF pizza. Once they brought it out the second time it was perfect! I know how GF pizzas are suppose to taste. Their side salads are so yummy! We have always gotten great service, every server that we have had has been amazing. And they must treat their servers well because I see the same ones in there, low turn over. For sure way better than Olive Garden, and about even on taste with Zios.. Obviously not the real deal like in Italy, but its yummy and great flavor!

Had chicken scallopine it was okay nice flavor but a bit watery. Reasonable prices but just ordinary food. Nice decor and good service.

Our first time here. This is a pleasantly done little bistro. The food was good for the price. We were the first (11 am) customers on a Saturday morning . We were seated, waited a little while for our lunches, and that was followed by a lot of straightening and window cleaning around us. I do not understand why this has to happen when customers are trying to enjoy their lunch. The smell of the window cleaner overwhelms the food, and the whole process detracts from the experience. I couldn't recommend this restaurant. The needs of the servers seem to come before the customers.

We love this place! Incredible service, very clean and the food is fresh. Order the appetizer with pita, bread and hummus. The olive dip will knock your socks off. Pasta your way is my favorite entree'. Bowtie with pesto sauce, add shrimp and a hint of jalapeño. So so good! Portions are reasonable and not super sized. Have a peach bellini for an additional delight! We have dinner here anytime we go North.

This place had awesome marinara!! Horseradish sauce is banging!, if you like horseradish. Calamari comes with a fried lemon and peppers, green one is a jalapeño. Made that mistake of eating that. Our servers name is Sebastian. One thing is that you do not get a complimentary start( such as bread) tell the hostess where you would like to sit, they don't have the best sense of where to sit people. Overall I like this place and recommend it.

Great service! The crab cakes are quite delicious! And being half priced after dark happy hour made it all the more better. Their tomato bisque was great and I loved that there was pesto in it.YUM! I had the rosemary chicken and my sister had the salmon. Both were fantastic! And I really appreciate how accommodating they were when my sister made her strange requests! I will most definitely be returning!

Service was fantastic. Never had to be asked if I wanted a refill on my tea. Server brought a new glass every time he saw one was close to empty. Good was top notch and reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

I've only been here once on a Saturday night with my coworkers, and I wasn't impressed enough to go back another time. Our wait was about an hour, and that was to seat 8 people on a Saturday night, thus understandable. I do love the atmosphere of the place. It's a little on the fancier side of Italian dining (say, fancier than a Zio's), but ambience is still casual. However, they don't give you bread, which is something I kind of expect when it comes to Italian restaurants and often my favorite part of Italian dining. Also the entree prices are a bit on the higher side of things. Their peach bellini was pretty good and standard, and so was the calamari. The calamari rings were small, which is nice so you don't have to try to awkwardly bite off half a ring (which is almost impossible) and then decide that you can't so you put the whole thing in your mouth anyway. Instead you can just put the entire calamari ring in your mouth and avoid an awkward scene with your date/whomever (in my case it was my boss). The calamari is also very shareable. I shared it with two others and still couldn't finish my entree. I ordered the shrimp diablo because I was wanting something that would be different than a standard spaghetti. I also asked for them to not include the red pepper flakes because I'm not a big fan of spicy food. One of my coworkers ordered it as well with the red pepper flakes because she loves spicy food and found it to not be spicy anyway. My impression of this dish is that it's basically just a fancy spaghetti version of shrimp scampi. The sauce had a hint of tomato (it's a tomato-based sauce) and some seasonings. Not much else. Another of my coworkers ordered the pesto with chicken and artichoke hearts (can't quite remember what it's called), but the portion looked about twice the size of mine.. I gave this place 3 stars because it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't really good either. Maybe I'll come back and give this place another shot, but I'm not really looking to go anytime soon.

Brightly lit kitsch Italian restaurant-slash-sports bar. We sat at the bar, which is straight in from the entrance and wide open. The tall, older gentleman severing the drinks deserves some sort of award for nicest guy ever. In fact all of the staff seemed friendly, attentive and upbeat. The menu is small but diverse enough for most. There's a decent wine selection for the kind of venue it is. Apparently the bellini is something to enjoy too, according to my companion at the time. I enjoyed a beer and coffee. Good coffee. The beer is, well, the beer. I only saw one Left Hand selection, Sawtooth--so I had to go with a generic selection. Olivetto isn't a romancy type of place, but it isn't a dive bar or even a Louie's (shutter). Think of it like an Italian Chili's or better yet, a Zio's. .

Returned for my birthday the sangria swirl was very tasty and reasonably priced. Just the right size too (giant $10 designer margaritas are a pet peeve). Had the pizza, it was delicious with plenty of fresh basil. For dessert tried the tiramisu. This was the first authentic tiramisu I have had since I moved back from the east coast. Brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us too. Wait staff was once again drinks were refilled with perfect timing. The waitress brought my other half a fork before he even realized it had been collected in error. This is becoming our new favorite restaurant....

Came here with a friend for an early dinner on a Sunday evening. We didn't need reservations, and were seated immediately. We were seated in a half booth, and our server immediately acknowledged us. I thought our service the entire time was excellent. We ordered crab cakes, spicy chicken pizza, and the ravioli. The crab cakes were mixed with shrimp and mostly batter. Nothing fancy, but resembled something you'd buy at your local grocery store in the frozen aisle and baked in the oven. It was good, but nothing memorable. The spinach salad underneath was extremely overdressed with honey mustard and inedible for me. Everything else was also very average. I didn't really think my ravioli tasted that great, but I also didn't think it tasted horrible either. Same with my friends pizza, he just thought it was decent. We were hungry when arriving, and had an average meal, but great service. It's a good place for a casual last minute meal, or to bring your kiddos to. I might bring my son here to eat in the distant future.

Had a good, but not great lunch at Oliveto on a Friday. We arrived around 12:45 and they were doing a good business, maybe half full. It's a large restaurant with plenty of booths, as well as bar seating. The place is kind of sleek/modern, but definitely not fancy. The kitchen is open, which I like. We were approached immediately by our server for drink orders. During our lunch, our drinks were refilled promptly. Our server was friendly and not overbearing or aggressively trying to sell us cocktails or appetizers. Very pleased with the service. I went with the spicy chicken formaggio Panini and pasta salad. The sandwich comes with grilled chicken, swiss (but I substituted provolone because I don't care for swiss) jalapeno bacon, baby spinach and chipotle mayo. It is served with your choice of fries or pasta salad. The Panini had a nice crunch to it, and the cheese was nice and melty, which you want from a pressed sandwich. The chicken was good, it wasn't distributed throughout the whole sandwich, maybe 80% of it. Same with the bacon, but the greens were everywhere. Also, and maybe this is my particular palate, but I found nothing spicy about this sandwich. I certainly couldn't tell the bacon was "jalapeno'd" in any way. But, while it wasn't spicy, it was good. So, I'd recommend this sandwich, just don't expect it to be spicy. The potato salad was great. Bowtie pasta cooked well, a flavorful, but not overly greasy, mayo based spread, good seasonings and some veggies for a little crunch. I'd love to have this again. My companion had the chicken Caesar salad, which looked good. She said she enjoyed it. They took a BIT longer than I would expect given that it was lunchtime on a work day, but it wasn't an obscene amount of time. I'd say this was a close to 4 star lunch, but not quite. That being said, I would return.

I had Eggplant Parmesan with Angel Hair Pasta. The pasta was good, and I enjoyed the sauce. Our waitress was also very attentive, and the food came out super fast. I was not as impressed with the eggplant itself. I prefer my eggplant cut in thin slices so that it is tender on the inside and very crispy on the outside. They cut the eggplant in thick slices, so it was not as tender as I like on the inside. The breading was nice, though, and the cheese topping and marinara sauce were good. Tip--there was not very much marinara on my pasta, but the waitress happily brought me a side (and quickly) when I asked. I gave this restaurant 4 stars mainly because the service was really good.

All of the good things to say about a little Italian bistro, this place has them. It's not a mom and pop shop and yes it's in Moore but I swear it's delicious. I've tried the pizza, chicken parm, 3 meat sizzler, and salmon w risotto and I have not one complaint. Sit at the bar if you're 21 for drinks and sports on the tv. The bartenders are very personable and enjoy their job. Don't forget the bread pudding. It's to die for.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
