A 30 oz. sirloin for $18. No catches. I think this is the mold of what other steak houses have copied. The food is consistent and priced reasonably. The service is good. Although the place is a little run down it still does what is expected. They have a full service bar area also. I always order the 30 oz. and although it's not seasoned well it does do the trick. The have salt and pepper on the table. The appetizer menu is quite good. The Arkansas fried bbq ribs are delicious. Yes. Fried and bbq ribs. The sweet tea is served in huge ball glass drinking jars which is the only way to drink it. Overall this is a solid 4 star place. They do offer a two for $25 special after 4 pm. Don't let the exterior scare you off. This place is good.

Awesome place. Service was slow but very friendly. Best steak I have had in a long time. Huge and not over priced. Did I mention the fresh oysters @ $9/dozen and the 32oz draft beer. You have to try it if you are in the area.

A steakhouse with no filet on the menu....really? As a visitor to McAlester i asked for recommendation from my hotel for a good dinner selection on Friday night. It wasn't a good start when the 8 inch deep crater in the parking lot tried to swallow my vehicle. The "Brangus Special" 8 oz was recommended as a small steak. Well........someone apparently forgot to chop the lettuce in my dinner salad, which I accomplished with my knife and fork. The baked potato was brown from overbaking and describing my steak as "chewy" would be kind. I ate half my food and left disappointed.

I ate here passing through with work. I read the mixed reviews, but decided to give it a shot. I love a good steak, and I so wanted it to be good. Well, unlike some, I thought the service was good, but the ribeye was just fair. So, 4 stars for service and 2 for the food. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll go somewhere else.

Food use to be really good, but this last visit the food was just "ok." (Burnt and dry) The writing on the walls makes it look trashy. Service was good, though.

Not the worst food I've had, but pretty terrible. I have been to Hooters on several occassions where the girls are dressed in next to nothing, but the waitresses here were half naked. I had forgotten about it, and took my daughter there to eat, and decided to leave. They cooked my steak wrong once, and the sushi there was awful. First time i decided to try sushi from a non sushi place. Never again. The mixed drinks were good.

This is a place we make a yearly visit to. However, this time the food was only "decent" but the service was absolutely TERRIBLE! I believe they only had two waitresses and it was a holiday weekend. Unfortunately, we were stuck with the one who had the absolute worst attitude of any waitress I've ever been helped by. We wouldn't have minded the wait but she was flat out rude. Then after dinner, we went to the bar side and sat there for 10 MINUTES and never seen a bartender. Even the band that was playing commented that they don't have people to play for because there was no bartender. After his announcement, as we were walking out, we seen the wait staff outside congregating. They then mocked the band because they asked for the wait staff to come back inside!!!If there was a separate rating for service I would give it a zero! Oh, and they had NOTHING on tap. The drinks listed on the menu were hardly available either because they didn't "have the stuff to make it."

Had the Okla Tulip and cheese sticks for an appetizer. They were both delicious and well cooked. Ranch dressing appears to be from a bottle, nothing special. The ribeye filet was cooked to order, pretty bland over all. The fried shrimp was good. The baked potato and salad were fine. Overall not too bad. I think for the price the steaks should have a better seasoning, but other than that it was a good experience.

This is the place to eat with the locals. There's every chain you can imagine around it. You wouldn't immediately think, OMG I have to eat there...in fact we drove by it and turned around and came back. So glad we did. The steak was delicious...perfectly cooked...potato was fresh and hot...as were some of the cowboys sitting near us!!! When headed north of Dallas into OKLAHOMA...it's worth a try!

I didn't know you could undercooked a steak and make it dry as a boot. Good job. Couldn't even finish it..

Last night I walked from hotel to the brangus to eat, drink a couple of beers and watch the ball game. I had catfish and it was good but the service was ridiculous! The male bartender was great but the female never once asked me how I was, if I needed another beer. She was way to busy talking to her friends and having fun. It took 15 minutes just to get her attention to get the check so I could leave. I would have stayed for second half of game if service was better.

Excellent food, great waitress, I had the country fried steak, and it was really good! Enjoyed the atmosphere too!

I ate here with my parents and boyfriend, but none of us live in the area. All of the meat, okra, fried pickles, and OSU fries were very good. They bring out huge portions at an inexpensive price. We all ordered lunch size entrees, but still needed to-go boxes. They are not stingy with their food, even the meat, so it's a great deal for the quality of food! As the other review mentioned, the wait staff was too hurried. Our waitress came over to ask if we were ready to order three times before I got a good look at the menu (and I wasn't just being slow). As soon as she took our order, she said, "I'll have it right out!" as if she was concerned we were in a hurry, but we were totally chill. We hadn't even gotten our appetizers yet. Anyways, if you're in the McAlester area, this is definitely a casual, good place to eat at and enjoy your company. I would go back again.

Good staff, good beer, and food food. Had Guinness with the chicken burger and both are delicious. The staff were awesome & quite entertaining since it was close to closing. 4 starts. I'll definitely be back.

Bar style atmosphere. Chicken Fried Steak sandwich was great! Nothing like drinking a tall draft out of a Mason Jar! If you pull up and question yourself on going in....just do it and have good food :)

Our food was great, but our waitress ruined our experience as she was much more interested in her phone than taking care of her customers. Chicken fry very good. Had to ask for our order to be taken ( arrived at 4:15 in afternoon). Only customers at two other tables when we arrived and our waitress had our table & one other. Ordered a steak without mushrooms, it came with mushrooms! Ordered baked potato, had to ask for butter, sour cream, & pepper shakerafter finishing our meal had to ask another waitress to get ours so we could get our check. WE LEFT NO TIP BECAUSE WE GOT NO SERVICE!!!!

The first time we went there the service sucked and the food seemed way over priced for what it was. But every place can have a bad day so we went back and it was exactly the same except this time they were out of the first two things I tried to order. There are much better places in town for food, drinks and definitely service.

Personally, I like a restaurant with some character so we stopped here on the way home from vacation because it looked local. The food was good. The service on the indifferent side. Not too sure about the cleanliness.

Decided to go back to this place when in town last week (had previously been about 5 years ago). I thought I had recalled it to be pretty good. However, I was disappointed this time. I ordered a glass of blush wine and got white instead. The waitress was nice about it, but feigned ignorance about wine. She did correct it. When my dinner arrived, one of the sides was not what I had ordered and the waitress did get it fixed. Along with the sweet potato I ordered (which was way over done) came a little cup of brown sugar, but it was mostly a very hard lump. When I called it to the attention of the waitress, she did attempt to replace it with broken up sugar and commented that they need to get more. It just seemed odd that with sweet potato on the menu there would not be moist brown sugar available. The steak I ordered was cooked the way I like, but it came only luke warm and had quite a bit of waste. Although the food tasted OK, there were just a lot of service missteps.

Not on Yelp yet. Yahoo reviewers have trashed this place. My Coworker has praised it, a little bit. Hotel staff here trashed it, but they have the menu in their book! (That menu is so out of date!) The wait staff at the restaurant is hurried and frantic. I was sitting at the bar, and was glad to get the drinks I got. I liked the atmosphere, it had a lot of the "I'm writing on the wall and stuff" stuff hanging around. Lots of real wood. The can had lot's of crap written on the walls, and they didn't paint over it like most places would. Now to the food. The shrimp with my dinner was the pre-breaded type you'd get at Wall Mart. The steak was NOT bought at WM!! It was juicy, tender, and flavorful. Juicy, did I say flavorful? Did I mention the tender part? Wow, I'm really surprised the baked potato sucked as bad as it did, and you only get a little fake butter and sour cream. The salad was sparse to say the least. Overall, I'd go back for more of that meat, and will try some of the other stuff. Some of it has to be good.
