Dont want to be the one that puts a bad review in with a few real good ones and everyone just thinks ohh thats just a fluke..No not this time please read on and also make sure you see my wifes comments ...Went here because the reviews were all great! #1 in Lawton?? Price was to much for what you get and the food was amateur at best. We both had the brisket sandwich. MY OPINION. One slice of brisket a little thick but absolutly not even close to a HUGE portion as one person put it. Ok, served on WONDER bread. Really Wonder bread....The sides ,the beans were vandecamps pork and beans. Ive eaten a lot of that and i know VC P&B when i eat them. Charged us twice what you can get them in a grocery store and the bowl portion was about 1\2 cup. Rip off total joke.. Potato salad was mashed potatoes with mustard and pickles in it. i personnaly hate potato salad that is creamy and even if i did like it this was just terrible. Drinks, my can of diet coke, the top was filthy and has rust on it...rust you say? yes, nasty. Pickles, a little bowl of sliced pickles out of a jar of hamburger dill type 1.49 rip off. The BBQ sauce in the bottles, tasteless worst i ever ate. Ok... MY WIFE. She loves wonder bread, doesnt like too much meat on her sandwich with very little sauce and loves VC P&B, her drink was clean. So my wife gives a decent. I give it a 1 Service was not good, waited at the door a long time, dirty drink building is old and rundown with poor interior etc etc. Ive had good BBQ in good establishments in Kansas city, Houston, Altus, Dallas, Burlington, OKC they were all superb. J&C's not even close. I will never go back.

Honestly, the best BBQ I've ever had.. any where. I got a "trinity" to try out For those of you 'not in the know' for scouting out BBQ places.. That means three different kinda of BBQ to try out. I got brisket, rib tips and a red hot. All were just awesome. The rib tips melted away in my mouth. They've been doing this for more then 40 years here. They're so good.. I was 10 miles out of town when the craving hit for more and I turned the car around and came back to Lawton to get some for the road. They're closed sunday... dont get mad if you miss them.. just stay in town till they're open again. They also have another one in Chicago for those of you interested. They will also smoke meats for you. It may seem expensive, but I've smoked meats with my dad before. Let me tell ya.. Hickory wood is NOT CHEAP and it takes a lot to do the job. Instead of staying up all night tending to a smoker.. just let somebody like him do it for ya. .. sorry cant comment on the sides

I would have given five stars but reading the posts gave my pause to think... yes, I liked the beans, didn't care for the bread either but the ribs... Awesome, it's the best. Home made sauces are his specialty. Brisket, a little dryer than I personally like but very tasty. Not a new place but the food and family atmosphere is definitely worth the trip.

Wish i would have read the last review but ended up going with the other four and five star reviews. Expensive. Got the two meat meal. Links were hot dogs at best. Pulled pork was ok. Beans and cole slaw were ok. Chocolate cake was well chocolate. Cost 19 dollars with sweet tea! Not worth it. Really disappointed.

This was the best BBQ place I have been to. Real southern cooking and hospitality. The owner came and sat right down with us. Very nice man. The prices here are excellent and portions are HUGE! Loved it.

We were staying at a hotel and they gave suggestions to local restaurants. However, their list was outdated and ended having to use YELP to find food. We stumbled on this place. WOW, We loved these guys. We went back again when we got my son from Fort Sill base. Went a third time when we had the rest of our family for graduation day. They were soooooo good. Everyone got food and at least two people said they were the best BBQ they ever had. If you are in Lawton, first my condolences, BUT if you like BBQ you are in for a treat.

Great BBQ, I had the 2 meat dinner (brisket and pulled pork) along with baked beans and potato salad. The potato salad is mashed style like mashed potato's as one review has said and was good. First time I had potato salad like that. I thought the beans were good too. But on to the important stuff, the meat and sauces, both the beef brisket and pulled pork were tender and cooked perfectly. They both had great flavor without the sauce. For sauce they had a hot and a regular. I found mixing the two gave me a nice flavor with just enough kick that I was sweating under my eyes when I was done. I highly recommend this place! FYI: It is closed on Sunday's even though their website does not show that.
