We stopped here this afternoon around 2pm. Ice and snow on the ground and I the parking lot. Walkway to door covered is ice and slush with no attempt to clear a safe path. Place was crowded which was fine with my husband and I. 15 min wait for a table. Seated near kitchen door and fireplace, totally fine, appreciated the warmth. Waited a long time for menus, ok. Waitress started out helpful and congenial. We ordered grilled catfish with greens and pinto beans. 30 degrees outside and I like my food HOT HOT HOT. I said the word HOT 7 X. I explained that I didn't want warm food, I wanted it HOT and would SEND IT BACK if it was not HOT! Waitress said over and over,"...oh yes, it will be hot! " Waited a long time and food served cold. I took a bite of beans, greens and then greasy, oily cold fish while she stood there. Everything cold! I said, "... We just talked about this! " Waitress became immediately IRATE and got LOUD, "...oh, you can talk to my manager! " And she was gone. I watched my husband eat. He's a quiet Texan who eats whatever is presented. Then, I can here waitress from the kitchen. YELLING. (. And I'm not one of those people who says someone yelled when they were just mad or unhappy ). This woman was irate and YELLING..." ' yes, that's her. Right there. I told you she's the one who said she wanted it hot!" Waitress never came back. Manager appears 15 mins later, accusatory. Demanding to know what the problem is. I told him I didn't need the manager and never asked for him. I wanted hot food and they couldn't give me hot food, so take it off the bill. He argued that he needed to fix it to make me happy. No thanks. Waitress angry. Kitchen angry and now...manager angry. No way do I want anything from this place ever again. I guess this place doesn't know or care about YELP reviews. I don't go out to eat looking to give kitchen 4-5 chances to do what they should have done the first time on a cold, freezing day. I'm not looking for free food. We paid our bill and I ate an apple in the car after. I would never return to this place.

Pretty good country food. Sometimes the meals come out a little over cooked but not too bad for a country fix

Friendly service, cookie cutter establishment, no real surprises except being out of popular menu items, disappointed but I guess it happens.

Cracker Barrel is that place you go to when your not sure what you want. They might not have the best of everything but everything is a 4 out of 5. Your not going to be disappointed with what you get, plus the prices are reasonable.

This is the best breakfast restaurant in Lawton ....hands down I don't really eat here for dinner or lunch so i can't honestly say if the food is as good but I wouldn't doubt it for a second. The service is super friendly and food is great and cheap, but the feel of the restaurant and the candies and goodies you can buy really sets it apart from the IHOP's and Denny's. You will not be disapointed at all in Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel is usually packed on Sunday's, but it's worth getting their Sunday chicken dinner. Their two fried tender chicken pieces combined with the Mac and cheese mixed with broccoli are amazing. Plus their corn bread and apple butter dipping sauce is complimentary. They don't serve alcohol, which is a negative on their part, but they make up for it with their endless lemonade. They have a breakfast/lunch and dinner menu and they serve breakfast all day. Bold move cotton.

I love the ambiance of Cracker Barrel. This is my second time here and it's a beautiful place to eat when it's snowing, especially if you're able to sit near the fireplace. The pancakes are amazing!! The fluffiness is strategically placed between two crispy layers; when you drizzle the 100% pure natural syrup on top ... it's PARADISE!! I suggest you pair your meal with the old fashioned lemonade ($2.19), although it's a bit pricey, you get free refills and it comes in a frosted mug. I am not a fan of their chicken and dumplings though.

What can I say - I. Love. Cracker Barrel. Maybe it's because they dont have these on the coasts (LA or NYC) but honestly - where else can you get 3 drinks each and a platter with almost 5 different things for a total bill of $25 for 2 people??? C'mon son! This was the first time I ate breakfast at the CB and man, did it hit the spot. Amazingly friendly wait staff who can tell you their whole life story and ask you about yours and STILL somehow not come off as invasive or too chatty. Food is always consistent and delicious (and smothered in butter or gravy.) Bathrooms can stand to be a little cleaner, but I'm not taking any points away for that. I will go to Cracker Barrel any chance I get and I know I'll always get a consistent meal for a very very reasonable price!

My family and I just moved to Oklahoma and I was really looking for some southern/Midwestern food so we stopped into cracker barrel. The outside is lined with rocking chairs for purchase, unfortunately they were occupied with employes smoking in them. This is a huge peeve of mine. If I were a restaurant I would not allow my employees to smoke in front of my business. Not only is unprofessional, but it also gives an unsanitary appearance. Do you want your child's food to be handled by someone who just finished a cigarette? Because I sure don't! This is the reason why I gave them 4 stars. Other wise the food was delicious! I had the chicken fried chicken with white gravy, mash potatoes, broccoli and macaroni and cheese. I loved it all! The gravy is great, and the Mac and cheese is amazing! I love the shop too! Lots of cute baby stuff. And all reasonably priced!

2 dollars for coffee, 3 dollars for 3 slices of bacon. Should have gone to Walmart for breakfast.

My wife and I came for dinner on a Thursday night. I had the Chile chicken and she had a steak. Our server was Charlie. Our salads came practically with our meal. When our food was dropped off, our server immediately left. He returned later with the check. What about dessert? We had to ask for steak sauce. My food was fine, but my wife's steak was bland. Our server only came by once more and he was very sorry with us, never asked if we needed any thing.

First time in OK and we were looking for some midwest/southern fare and I think this place hit it. The prices were ridiculously reasonable. 5 of us ate here for under 60 bucks including drinks. The menu was long and varied with daily specials. The chicken fried steak was disappointing (frozen and deep fried) but the ROAST BEEF was tender, rich and DEE-LISH-US! It was simply amazing. The dumplings and hash brown casserole were fantastic sides. Desserts were fantastic as well - the peach cobbler and apple crumble (?) were a hit. We all walked from the table happy and stuffed. The decor was country cabin chic and had plenty of charm. The amazing amount of cluttered retail in the front of the house were a bit much for my taste, but were pretty good for tourists I suppose. My party enjoyed it for souvenirs and candy. The servers were sweet, charming and attentive.

I've eaten at a ton of these restaurants across the OK area but I've never rated any of them before. Since I'm newer to Yelp, I'm excited to finally get the opportunity to do so. I've always felt that for the price that Cracker Barrels charge, their food is over priced. Sometimes I'll get platters that are to die for but most of the time, their food is just barely above par. I've never had a bad meal, but I've had more "average" meals than "out of this world" food. I like the homely/southern atmosphere that Cracker Barrel provides. I think they purposely make you wait for your table in the hopes of you buying something in their gift shop. Granted, their gift shop is pretty awesome.

After living in the Lawton area almost two years, last week was my first venture into this Cracker Barrel. No reason why I have not eaten here other than it not being close to my house and most of the time when I go out to dinner w/ friends - someone wants to drink. I was w/ a group of 8. As a waitress in a former life, I know serving groups is a pain in the butt. Our waitress was very friendly, however not the most attentive. We were there during a peak time and no mistakes w/ any of our orders. Most people can eat for under $10. We all left full and happy!

Very poor service. Consisted of numerous apologies for being late or issues with service. Also set a container of ranch directly in front of my one year old for my wife's salad and she was sitting next to him. Needless to say there was a mess. Also we ordered a steak well done and it was incredibly dry and barely chewable also my 6 year old son ordered a burger and was intensely dry and he couldn't chew it. Dinner was very poor and we will not be back. We were here 6 months ago and decided to try it again in hopes that service and food would be better and we were wrong. We should have gone to McDonald's, at least we could have eaten together. This was a mistake to come here

Being from Los Angeles, I have never ever had a country meal! When we first arrived, we were greeted by the cashier and the hostess. The hostess was very friendly! We took awhile to choose what we wanted and the waitress was very patient with us! We ended up ordering Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast and Egg n' Cheese Sliders. When we got our food, the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast came with grits, sausage gravy and biscuits, hashbrown casserole, two eggs and country fried steak. It was SO much food I shared with my boyfriend. All the food was good! The Egg n' Cheese sliders were also really good! I'm so happy with the service and the food! All the employees were very friendly. The food was so good. I will now be craving country food after this!

Right next to 2 hotels in Lawton, and has an awesome store in the front with candy, toys, etc. Went here with my soldier for dinner and the food is reallllllly good :) I wish we had a Cracker Barrel in CA where I live. I had breakfast food for dinner and it was awesome! You can even take home the little syrup bottles they give you.

My first time ever being at a Cracker Barrel and I absolutely loved it! I grabbed the sunrise sampler, which also meant it was my first time having grits (I'm from the north east). It was phenomenal. The service was over the top excellent! I attribute it to southern hospitality. The store was neat too. Would definitely recommend it.

First time at Cracker Barrel here in Lawton and loved it! The service was fast, courteous and friendly. The food was well prepared and delicious. I also really appreciated our waitress who told me while we were waiting for our orders to arrive they were out of blackberries for my berry pancakes, but said the produce truck was coming soon & she'll make sure I get my berries...and you know what--SHE DID! She came out w/ a bowl of blackberries, shortly after our orders arrived at our table, so I could add them to my pancakes; now, that's service!! Coffee was always filled and hot, and water was filled up promptly too. Overall, a nice experience. Will come here again. :)

I've eaten at Cracker Barrels all over the country, Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and this one is one of the best. Located in a busy hotel area in Lawton, Oklahoma and they are never understaffed. We had an excellent knowledgeable waitress who was attentive, always checking our beverage levels, and suggested items on the menu some might over look. When my daughter and her friend found out about the chicken and dumplings, they were SOLD! This place seems to always be busy and yet, the food seemed on a higher level than most places in this military city. I recommend! Thumbs up!

It was delicious here!! Food: I have yet to try fried steak and other southern comfort foods, but I had the pecan-crusted catfish and it was delicious! It had a sweet sauce that balanced the nice crunch of walnuts and savory seasoning on top. I also got the cheese grits and it was good! It kind of reminded me of a tapioca pudding, but more savory and cheese-like. Ambience: Definitely has a southern feel to it. Quite enjoying! Service: All servers were soooo ridiculously friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Out of home fries? I see that in a few reviews here. "Sorry we are out of home fries".. Its what my server said too us too....Hmmmmm makes you wonder. My server actually had two excuses for me. First she said we are "out of home fries" and then she said they stop serving them at 10 oclocky anyways...so what is it? I think that home fries are becoming a problem at CB. For everyone. Wonder what the manager thinks about home fries. I can imagine the poor soul waking at night in a freezing sweat screaming "potatoes'! "ohhh god the potatoes'!! Where have they gone wherererere!! "there is no E there is no E"!!, whyyyy Dan whyyyyyy.....not after 10 NOT AFTER 10!! Home fries....Home Fries..HOME FRIES YYAAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!! (Alright Maybe that was me last night, maybe not. I don't know, .....I get weird when I cant figure s#$t out. My imagination runs like that. Especially when I watch 32 consecutive episodes of Battlestar Gallactica on Netflix while eating way to many red Swedish fish... don't judge me) I imagine that because that's what I heard from 3 surrounding tables too, well ok, not that exactly but they were disappointed, as we were that they were out or had stopped serving them...the home fries. Why even tell me your out if its 1035 and you don't serve them after 10? Ug, ok In any case I think that if possible you should try a restaurant twice before writing a review that is less than kind. I changed my mind for CB Nope , hu u. No excuse for cold burnt food and lying about home fries. Lets see, ya that's about it, cold burnt food, home fry nightmare. Two stars because we really liked the little store out front. Prices were a little high but they had some pretty cool stuff. They are Dog lovers from the looks of it, and so am I, are we, whatever Jeff jeez... The wait was also very short only 10 minutes and not out in the cold parking lot like IHOP will force you to do. Service was also good. We sat, made our drink order and played the peg game thing that says your stupid if you leave more than 3 on the triangle. That's stupid, I mean I'm smrt and I left 7 on it every time so I'm sure this game is rigged, just another way to keep me from thinking about the home fries. We received our food in a timely manner so kudos for that too. But that's were again we have a problem, all of it was cold, all of it had burn spots. Pancake's, burnt, hash brown burnt, over easy eggs, not burnt but cold as the rest. Yes we complained and yes they were sooo sorry. So, I mentioned the two times thing. We may possibly go back. We might but Im not sure the nice church ladies across from us will. Such language! I spent 24 years in the military and thought I had heard all the combinations of cuss on the planet. If you also think you have heard them all, go to CB on a Saturday morning and wait until they mess up a church ladies "over easy and hash" on top of the Home fries fiasco, . I promise you after that you WILL absolutely say that you have finally heard it allll. What gets me too was they were not that busy. I mean yes people were waiting but there were empty tables so what the heck CB? I wonder if they ran out beforrrre 10? Is it possible....You know Ive never eaten here before so I don't even know if they really have them, or what they look like, I didn't see an actual picture on the menu...Maybe they don't have them, maybe its just a thing they say to people like me, maybe they know about the Netflix.........

Visiting Lawton for grandson's Army graduation. Have visited many CB's coming here. Pancakes were "rubbery" & not as fluffy as other CB's - 1st time ever. Rest of breakfast was good. The service was excellent.

I travel a lot and have been at probably a dozen CB's across the country. I go there because it's predictably good food, but I have a couple of beefs with the Lawton store. 1. The "server" is not the person who brings the food. This was a problem today, because I'm 99% sure my skinny Oklahoma good ol' boy server was pretty high. I ordered the Southwestern Scramble with home fried potatoes. He said they were out of home fries. So I ordered the French steak fries. He seemed upset about there not being any home fries, and said "I'll figure this all out for you right away, sir. It might be hash browns." I told him again I wanted the fries instead. What I ended up with (from a different server) was the proper eggs, but with hash browns and a side of home fried potatoes, a biscuit and cornbread (that I didn't order). Where are the fries I asked for? "You are table 152, right? Puzzled. "I'll get your server." 5 min. later: Oh, well, I wrote them on the ticket (showed me), sure enough it was on there, but the cook messed up. (New cook). I did get the fries 20 min. later. The eggs were too greasy for my taste. 2. Why doesn't CB make omelettes? 3. Why can't they make a decent cup of coffee? it's coffee-flavored water. 4. There are too many staff not knowing what the other staff are doing, or what other staff have said or promised customers. It's confusing. 5. I do like the prosaic ambiance--and Brad Paisley is a fine musician and endorser, and usually I like the food here (which is why I stop here to eat), but every once in a while things get hinky at CB...

I always go to Cracker Barrel everything I am in the midwest. Midwestern fare with a lot of love. There is no varieties to vegetables and salads, just basic iceberg lettuce to lose weight and canned vegetables. The meat dishes are tasty. My friend Thanh loves the chicken dumpling. I never acquired the taste for it. Take the time to browse the store, they sell some interesting knick knacks.

I wasnt expecting much from this location but I was pleasantly surprised. Our server Jackie was very friendly. The food came out quick and it was delicious. Jackie was attentive and made sure we had eveything we needed. If you're passing through or live in Lawton, I suggest you stop by. Best Cracker Barrel I've ever eaten at.

I've been a loyal customer for many years at Cracker Barrel restaurants when I'm home or traveling. I just returned from a month trip and on that trip I stated you can always count on the restaurant to not disappoint. My husband and I ate at our local restaurant July 14. We were greeted by 3 different people. That's the highlight of our visit. This was 11 o'clock and we didn't have to wait, which I never mind. We were seated at a table with water puddled on top which my husband quickly dried off with his napkin. Then I asked the very polite waitress if someone could please sweep under our table. There was a huge amount of food spilled under. She swept it and apologized. Is it the waitresses' job to sweep? I hope not. Our meal arrived quickly and the gravy was so thick and cold you could actually cut it with a knife. My bacon was very close to burned and I like it crispy. My husband commented that the biscuits not only looked like footballs but they didn't taste like they usually do. He did compliment the grits. My over easy eggs were almost hard. I went to pay the bill and the cashier did not greet me or ask me if I was satisfied. She looked at me and asked if I'd like to buy some candy. I declined and then she asked if I'd like to leave a tip. I'd already left it at the table. She did not say thank you have a nice day. I decided to visit the ladies' room before leaving and was stunned it was so dirty. Before I could say anything to a staff member washing her hands, another customer complained about the dirtiness. The toilets were unusable and the trash can was overflowing onto the floor. She said the last 4 times she'd visited she'd been disappointed and she would not eat there again. I see this a a management problem and I'm very disappointed. The manager used to be a visible person inquiring about satisfaction. If 3 staff members are available as greeters why is the rest of customer service so sloppy? I believe the manager is simply is unaware. The shame is there is no excuse for management to be unaware when they provide a service.

If you like country style food, this is the right place. For someone come from California like me will feel the food its fatenning. I wonder why they are chain stores but not one in California?

now.. Lawton Ok is one of the trashiest places in the planet... So when I go to Cracker Barrel it's like my sweet escape from this god forbidden town... The food is excellent.. The service kicks a**.. Those servers make me feel like there is still hope with this town..

There are no Cracker Barrels in California. However, in Lawton, OK, Cracker Barrel is the closest restaurant to my hotel. And it received some pretty decent Yelp reviews. Since I still had to do some work in the hotel room, I decided to order the chicken and dumplings to go. The only time I've ever had chicken and dumplings was when I prepared a Banquet crock pot bag. Those are just okay. Cracker Barrel's were pretty good. They didn't have carrots or any other vegetable in it (maybe it's not supposed to, what do I know?) but the chicken was very tender and juicy, and the dumplings were good too. Corn tasted like they came from a can, cooked a little too long in a tad too much butter. The hashbrown casserole was okay - hashbrowns and cheese. Not spectacular, but not terrible. The biscuit was good, but I'm a little disappointed (and surprised) that the corn bread was dry. Really, really dry. And make sure you have some utensils before you leave the restaurant! I didn't realize until I got back to my room that I didn't have a fork to eat with, but luckily, the hotel was able to provide me with one. The restaurant employees were friendly, both on the phone and in person. Not sure why I had higher expectations of the food. It IS a chain restaurant. However, for $10 I got chicken & dumplings, two sides, cornbread and biscuit, and a diet coke (with way too much ice). Not a bad deal for not so bad food. Just don't get the cornbread!

Nothing like eating good ole country food then walking through a gift shop. They had everything from Barking puppies to rocking chairs.

Everything was good. The staff looked 80 years old, but kind of a CBCS theme. My waitress was awesome, food was just what I asked for and I enjoyed myself. If that does get you five stars, what does. And have you eaten anywhere else is Lawton... Seriously this is one of the best.

If you are looking for a "Home cooked" style menu this will be the best place in Lawton to find it. I have only experience a wait to be seated once. And even then the country store gave me enough to do during the wait. The food is not Grandma's but it is good. And this is one of the few places where you will get what you pay for. The service is great as well. Not really much to complain about here. Great Food+Great Atmosphere= Great Experience.

What can I say...Even better than their cheesy potato casserole, is the fun little store with the 'old school' candies and sodas. It's fun for kids and adults alike, and the only thing better than their lunch/dinner selections, is their breakfast entrees. It's a breath of fresh air, in a town full of closing and run-down business fronts. CHEERS!
