Taco bueno has better mexican food. Bathrooms smell like gotham city, sewer. Ordered a burrito, cold inside with un-melted cheese. Not going back. I want my $9.00 back.

I see a lot of bad reviews, and I have only been there once, but our experience was a good one. Our waitress was very young, but she was working her tail off. Best customer service we have had in quite some time. Free queso, and the food was good. I would return.

In a world of bland, boring, poorly-presented mediocre chain restaurants offering repetitive swill doled out by mindless drones from a kitchen which can best be described as scary this restaurant makes them all look good. As a long-time Enid resident I have never, and I wish to repeat this: NEVER had what could even be described as a "passable" experience in this wretched denizen of the damned. I am willing to give second, third, and even fourth chances. However, once I've witnessed your incompetence, sloth, filth, and indifference a 4th time - you get the boot. If, once again, lovely Enid is crippled with an ice storm and El Chico is the ONLY place with electricity, heat, and warm food I will build a fire from wet wood and roast old hot dogs on laminated coat hangers before giving these people patronage. In a town with approximately 650,000 mexican restaurants at any given time the fact this place is still open boggles the mind. So yeah, I'm not a fan.

I'm actually really surprised at the current reviews. I come into Enid for work occasionally, and will have to say that the food here is pretty good and reasonably priced. By no means is this a fancy sit down Mexican restaurant, but great for the run of the mill I want some mexican food that'll fill me up at a reasonable cost. El Chico has always been busy when I've gone, so obviously, they're doing something right! Go with the fajitas! They'll never do you wrong. Overall, I think it's pretty good food, friendly service, and great for a quick eat.

At one time this was a good place to eat, but their food has gotten terrible and they can't hire good waiters because I don't think they get decent tips due to the poor food. We get burned every time we go there and have marked it off of our list. No more trips to El Chico.

This was a true waste of money. I don't see how any El Chico stays open.

Service was friendly enough, but food was nothing too special. Wasnt thrilled with their salsa.

Don't waste your time or your money. You can get the same, maybe better, quality food from the drive through at Taco Bell. I had the "Revolutionary Tacos" with chicken. My order came out no more than two minutes after ordering, not a good sign, and they were neither revolutionary nor tacos. The chicken was extremely tough and dry, as were the "soft" corn tortillas. I had to search for the chipotle sauce that was supposed to be drizzled on each taco. I found it, in a puddle underneath the tacos. Add in the mediocre beans and rice and you have a very average, if not regrettable meal.

This place is by far the worst Mexican food in Enid period!!! So if you want to have a horrible experience with service and the worst food in town by all means go here and have at it....

El Chico is a chain in a town of local Mexican restaurants, and it stands out for that. The food is bland and boring, the prices are well above the competition, and the service borders on the nonexistent. Good food is necessary for a good restaurant, but the fact that they can't even be bothered to pretend to offer good service when nearly every other Mexican restaurant in town greets customers with genuine smiles and serious effort, that's a new level of bad. The fact that El Chico manages to survive in this town with so many good alternatives is a mystery to me.

The food is sub par and the service is aweful.

The food is usually very good, they have a very affordable full bar with large television, and the prices are reasonable for the food portion size. The service can be abysmal at times - especially during peek weekend times. I find they are typically understaffed.

I find the food to be below average of a Mexican restaurant and the last time I was there our waiter was extremely rude another waitress even apologized for him being so rude! bad day or not that's no excuse especially when the food you serve doesn't taste good! not going back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
