House of Hunan has become a family favorite. We've never been let down by this restaurant. Our family of 5 can eat here for $60 plus tip. Most of their dinners are $10 for an app (soup or egg roll), an entree and some form of rice. Their mu shu pork is among the best I've ever had. The service has been solid and I'm pretty critical of waitstaff. This restaurant is consistently good. Can't go wrong.

If only their portions were bigger! For ~$10 a plate, it should be pretty filling. But House of Hunan always lets me down in terms of portion size. The food is great don't get me wrong. Especially the Chicken Ding, Shrimp and Scrambled Eggs, and Twice Cooked Pork. However, be sure to order more than you think you need if you want to get full. Most of the stuff we get is usually off their "by request" chinese menu which is one sided and completely in chinese, the dishes are way more authentic and cooked very well. The service is average, so is the ambiance and decor. They have some pretty good lunch specials which are more or less the same portion size as the dinner ones, so I would try it out for lunch first and see if you like it!

Overall, the food was decent. Not amazing, but decent. The egg roles were delicious and the service was hospitable. I enjoyed my visit but it's definitely not authentic Chinese.

No bueno! I ordered a large vegetable lo mein it was burnt, greasy and soggy. Never again. I gave it two stars cuz the egg roll wasn't terrible, otherwise a definite one star.

After reading the other reviews, I decided to try this place. Wish I hadn't. The service was great, the food was not. It's dimly lit in the restaurant. The menu felt tacky and even though this site says that they have spring rolls or vegetarian rolls, they were not to be found on the menu. When I asked, they said they don't have them. The prices were very fair so at least I didn't waste a lot of money. Try it if you want but I will not go back. At least my fortune cookie was great! I will heed its advice.

Cheap, clean, friendly, and great food. I've been going here since the doors opened about 17 years ago. The food is wonderful and priced right. My favorite is the lunch cashew chicken, rice, egg roll and egg drop soup for $6.77.

Very "normal" Oklahoma Chinese restaurant. If you're nearby and in the mood for chinese, swing by. Exactly what we've come to expect about fast-chinese food in the US. Pros 1) Cheap 2) Quick 3) Family owned Cons 1) Not particularly good food 2) Average location, ie nothing stands out.

One of my favorite restaurant in Edmond. The lemongrass pork is awesome as is the shrimp with scrambled eggs. Their fried pork chop is good too.

Probably my favorite Chinese restaurants in Edmond. The prices are good and I usually get sweet and sour chicken. The egg rolls are great.

Solid New York style Chinese/American food. I've only picked up and never seen customers in dinning room (which appears grim), but works for those looking for Chow Mein and Sweet'n'Sour Pork.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
