The food was low priced and plentiful, but mediocre. It was much better than the local fast food options. Also, they have margaritas. :)

Quick lunch stop, passing through! Great prices for a reasonable amount of food! Good service and fast to serve such a large group! We were not disappointed! Other then the shredded cheese, but tolerable. Could definitely stop here again, should I ever pass through! And to the staff that was working, Thanks for putting up with us!!

There was a bad smell when we first walked in but it seemed to disappear the further into the building we got. The chips were hard and tasted like they had been fried in old grease. The portions seemed small compared to other Mexican places. The service was good but the food was so so... Most likely will pass this place up the next time I'm in Atoka.

This place is very good. I had the chimichanga (beef) and was tasty. Not at all greasy. The place was clean and smelled good when I walked in. I really like how they give the table a small carafe of salsa and everyone had their own bowl. Now I can double dip. YES!!!!

Stopped by here on the way to Arkansas from dallas with my wife and two boys. While the service was friendly, the positive stops there. For starters, the salsa was blander than any that I've had in many years...it was more like spicey tomatoes sauce. The waitress was quick to bring chips and take our order. However, that was the last we saw of her until the food arrived 25 minutes later. When the food finally came it was mostly bland and flavorless. Finally, after waiting 15 minutes for the check I had to chase down the waitress and ask for it. The last comment I'll make is the uncomfortably small men's restroom and the unusually high urinal that prevented either of my boys from using it...it was almost too tall for an adult. All in all I wish I'd done fast food instead of eating here.

The service was good but the meat needs a little more flavor. Also if you order fajitas and want grilled onions ya better ask for it, because they're not cooked.

I have to agree with Mike H, in his review, in that all the proteins seemed to be under seasoned. The ground beef taco meat tasted like it had been boiled without seasoning, and the only thing that saved it was dumping on the table salsa, adding the sour cream, and buying a side of ranch dressing to dose it up. My wife's frajita meat was also underseasoned and adding salt and pepper improved it, but just didn't make the mark. I am pretty sure we'll pass this one up next time we travel by their location.

Tina is a rock star! A group of about 25 of us (half kids) came in unannounced and they did not blink an eye. Just cheerfully served us. Tina served us all...even did separate checks. She kept water/tea glasses full and attended to our kids who were sitting at other tables, but kept track so that each kid went on their respective parent's bill. We were a weary traveled, starving bunch, so don't know how objective we were, but the food was enjoyed, and my spinach quesadilla was good.

The service was good. The establishment was clean and a little unique. The food was ok, but nothing to brag about. I would probably go back if I were in town, but dont make a special trip.

The service was a bit a slow, but very friendly. The cheese enchiladas were fantastic. Beans were not refried, but had a very good flavor. As a native Texan, I am selective when it comes to my Tex-Mex, so I can really only give this a three and a half stars. However, if I ever pass through Atoka again I would definitely go back! The food is very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was unique. The restaurant is located within a building that was once part of the oldest Catholic Church in Choctaw territory! Definitely worth a visit.

Okay, I'm probably being about one star kind, but my traveling business partner was pleased with his lunch choice. When it's noon, you're passing through Atoka (where the dining selections are limited to say the least), you're facing a major tropical storm with buckets of rain, this appeared to be the best place to pull into for lunch. It appears to be a local stop as well since there were plenty in the restaurant. I ordered the taco salad which was fair at best. The ground meat that was dumped on top of wilted lettuce was bland and just that, ground meat. Come on, at least throw an Old El Paso seasoning packet into the ground meat while cooking. The salad didn't come with any peppers (had to request) and no salsa. You did get your choice of either sour cream or guac. I'm not sure I have seen a taco salad served without salsa. Guess they assumed I would use the table salsa (which was the tasty portion of lunch). Ice tea was made with water from the bottom of the lake! I now know what a catfish experiences. Come on, use filtered tap water at least! Well at least the chips and salsa were good. Not sure I'd stop here again on my many trips to/from Texas.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
