So, my husband and I have attempted to eat here three times now, and we've only been successful once. That one time, our first visit, would have gotten a four star review from me. The service was good, the food was very tasty, and the coffee was great! It was a Saturday morning, the place was packed, and we were surprised how quickly our food was ready, given how busy they were. The ambiance was a little odd, since the place is basically one big room, it feels a little like walking into and eating in someone's living room. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just odd. But we felt like we got a lot of good food for the money, and we definitely wanted to go back again. A few weeks later, we tried to go back again on a Saturday morning for brunch. We arrived at 11:40 (thinking they were open until 2:00, as they are Monday-Friday), but they were already closed and the doors were locked. There were still people inside, but it appears they close at noon on Saturdays (which seems strange to me) and I guess they decided to lock up a little early. It was disappointing, and several other people showed up in the couple of minutes we were there, also surprised and disappointed that the place was closed early. We headed up the street to Araceli's instead and had a good meal there. A few weeks after that, we tried again. This time, we showed up at 9:45 on a Saturday morning and the place was locked up tight, no lights on, no cars in the parking lot. Did they run out of food? Were they on vacation? Did they change their hours? Was there an illness/funeral/emergency? We have no idea, there was no note on the door, nothing to indicate whether this was a permanent change or a temporary glitch. Again, several other people showed up in the couple of minutes we were there and were also surprised that the place was closed. Again, we went up the street to Araceli's instead. I understand that problems happen, but not sticking to posted hours can drive customers away. My husband and I both work during the week, so if we're going to go out for breakfast/brunch, it's going to be on the weekend. We've been disappointed twice now by Sunrise Cafe, I'm not sure if we want to risk being disappointed again.

This place is great for breakfast. I have never had lunch here so I cannot claim to know how it is. The "pile up", pancakes, and omelets are all great. It is an Altus staple.

Went for the first time today, and I'll definitely be back! I was impressed by how homey, bright and clean it was. Great breakfast (I got the 'Small Pile' - Biscuits, Hashbrowns, Cheese, Sausage, Egg, Gravy) and I'm glad I got the small one, it was plenty large. Food came out really fast and hot, coffee was good, and everything was priced well, especially for so big. Staff was really friendly. They also have a frequent buyers punch card, buy 9 meals, get the 10th free. Beware, the food is so slutty, but it is sooo good...just like a breakfast place should be. Be sure to check out the specials posted around the walls inside! Call ahead, they have a pickup window. While I was there, lots of people had take out orders.

Have not had lunch and dinner there but they are my go-to for some good southern breakfast food. Reasonably priced and diner type atmosphere. Make sure you show up with an appetite and don't make any lunch plans as breakfast will keep you filled up most of the day.

Been here twice and felt I have enough experience to give yelp-nation a shout. Attended for a pre-training hunger quencher (notice I didn't say thirst quencher.) Service has always been fast upon sitting down, ordering and receiving your feast. The atmosphere is different, single room, small tables, close quarters, and no background music, just the sounds of magic happening behind the scenes (the grill.) Im not a coffee expert but I'd say it's ok, water is always cold and wet just how I like it. They do something unique though, they give you a glass slightly larger than a mouth wash cup, enough ice to sink the titanic again, and they are yet to ask if you might just consider a refill! So it makes for a choking sensation when trying to consume "the hungry one" (2 eggs, 2 bacon, replace sausage with hash browns and 2 pancakes!) Mitigation is rather simple, chew to a fine pulp/border line dust and should be able to get her down without life threatening consequences. The food is good, actual homemade items but loses its taste after required amount of chewing to swallow without lubrication. Check the chalk boards for specials as soon as you walk in on the left side. By the register another board turns you onto burritos. Tried the egg, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon and hash browns with veggies. That wasn't a misprint y-nation, there was half a pig wrapped in that grilled tortilla (yes too much bacon is possible.) Flight docs cleared me, no immediate heart danger for now. Ask for light bacon and they've got something cooking there. Overall, it's not bad. Quick service, decent prices, weird hours (see picture posted) and sides of dehydration. Update: Came on 22Dec. Finished my tonka sized cup of water, wasn't asked for a refill...again. Im truly baffled... Cheers!

What can I say, plan-B is always more expensive and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. When the go-to is closed new places must be explored. To put it short, we're not conquering Sunrise, we explored and won't be back. If you like 1 glass of water and 1 coffee cup with no refills after 45min you'll fall head over heels for Sunrise.

It was okay but typical for a small town breakfast place. Ive had better, even ihop seemed better than here. It was cheap though & husband seemed to think it was alright.

Decent food, great price. Nothing that blows you away, but it was good.

For breakfast, and you don't have a Doctor exam in two weeks, you should try the "Pile Up". Hash Browns on fresh biscuits, with breakfast meat and eggs cooked to order, smothered in sausage gravy! Whew! Just writing it out I added half a pound!

This place, like all Altus restaurants, is absolutely filthy and disgusting. And every time I have been some creeper is trying to talk to my little girls. Ick. I have tried it three times I think and won't go back.

This is a great place to come in and get breakfast! The service is outstanding and it's very cozy. Not very big, but if you come in the early morning [6AM] they usually serve customers faster. Clean, and very well taken care of, the bathrooms themselves are quite an acheivement from the Dominoes next door. Parking can be interesting. Best to park around back to avoid people from the street accidentally hitting your headlights or bumper. Great place to get a good lunch too. They close at 2 so, get there while they are open for good eats!

Brought them up a star. Still crowded and all that but the food and the service is just so damn good you just cant beat them for basic breakfast pigouts at very good price.

Great little diner in Altus! I are there for breakfast and has some great food. The prices are very reasonable and the food was fresh. If I am in Altus I would eat here again.
