This is my favorite Chinese place, and I have been to many not just in Zanesville. The food is great, the workers are great, has been my favorite place for about 10 years. The dining area is not that great.. Pretty dull, run down. But I always do take out anyways so that is not a problem. I have tried multiple things from here, I do not get the same thing all the time, and everything I've tried I have loved and I am sorta a "picky" eater. Overall I just love this place. :)

The food served at King Garden isn't good. Dishes are greasy and don't taste fresh. The dining area is dull, dirty and falling apart. I saw cockroaches crawling all over the floor and walls and chairs. Either the staff doesn't know or doesn't care. I'm afraid of what the kitchen looks like if the dining room is filled with vermin...

This is one of the worst places I have been to. I only went to King Garden in Zanesville because I am in the process of exploring the area and because I thought it might be related to the fabulous King Garden in Mount Vernon. In NO WAY are the two related! The Zanesville King Garden is dingy, filthy, unwelcoming, and disgusting in every way. It is located in a strip mall and set up as a typical Chinese carry out. The space is literally falling apart, very dirty in appearance, sparse, and does not even bother to play music. The person at the counter was a wet rag-- she did not say a word to me, nor did she smile. I ordered vegetable chow fun. It was fine rice noodles with a tiny, tiny smattering of carrots, broccoli, and frozen peas in it. It was absolutely flavorless. What was most disturbing about the whole experience, however, was that the passthrough to the kitchen has been boarded up in a (seemingly) deliberate attempt to conceal what is going on in the back. I take issue with any restaurant who makes such blatant attempts to hide the origins of the food it is selling. Given the outward appearance, I am sure the kitchen would not pass health inspections and I am surprised the place is open at all. I would not recommend this to anyone and I implore the restauranteurs out there to bring some tasty, healthy, locally owned food to Zanesville!

Okay - Interior: not the greatest looking , however most people get it via take out so that doesn't really matter. The front of the house is clean which leads me to believe that the back is pretty much the same way. Staff: the staff is very pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful. service: the service is fast. I went in and placed an order and it was ready 10 minutes later which is impressive to me. Food: food is delicious! And huge serving. I got large general tso's And a large order of sweet and sour chicken. (Just chicken) and has enough food to have enough for lunch the next day and possibly a snack as well. I will return to this place!

If you're looking for good Chinese takeout, this place has it. No, the decor isn't the fanciest and yes, it's in a shopping center. But, just like any good hole-in-the-wall place you'd find in a big city like New York or L.A, that's where the best food is. I ordered the General Tso's chicken. I wasn't feeling particularly hungry, so I got the small order which was still more than enough. The chicken was cooked perfectly and covered in a tasty tempura batter and the sauce was some of the best I've had. It was sweet and spicy with a hint of ginger. The fried rice was cooked to perfection and the broccoli was fresh and crisp. Also as a side note, the lady at the front counter was very friendly and helpful when asked about the food choices. I'd definitely come back!

I got carry out here last night, a small portion of general tso's chicken. It was ready when I got there. The woman at the front desk was quick. Inside was sparse. Other reviewers have complained about that, but it didn't bother me. Some of the best Chinese (authentic & not) food I've had has come from similar places. But yeah, I went with an inauthentic standard for Chinese take out, ordered extra spicy & with extra broccoli. It was edible, but unimpressive. The chicken is like the weird little fried bits you'll find on the buffet next to the vat of technicolor sweet & sour sauce. Though I ordered this usually spicy dish extra spicy, it was barely hot. It's impossible for me to say wether it was kicked up compared to their usual, but I'd be hard pressed to make a return trip.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
