I LOVE this place! My boyfriend booked the Fine Arts Room for a romantic night when I came to visit. That was about three years ago, and just this past weekend we went back for nostalgia and stayed in the same room. The Homestead House is simply impeccable. Fresh, clean, and full of character, the rooms also provide you with soaps, bath gels, shampoos, and lotions to make you feel at home. They have a small sitting room area that has books, DVDs, and coffee in the morning. It is located right next to beautiful downtown Willoughby, so it is easy to go out for dinner, drinks, etc, and walk down the strip to see the pretty shops. The breakfast is phenomenal! It truly is worth half the price of the stay on its own. It is very filling and hearty. The owners and women who cooked breakfast are just so sweet. We have been able to meet other couples as well at breakfast, and that was fun. We had some very romantic moments at the Homestead House, and we will be back! I would 100% encourage everyone to visit this fine establishment!

Willoughby, next stop Willoughby! I've visited the Cleveland area on business from LA a couple dozen times now and what a treat it was to finally find Deanna and the Homestead House! I fell in love with Willoughby during my last two stays in the area and the close proximity to the plethora of upscale bars and restaurants was even more appealing. Not only were my room and accommodations lovely but Deanna's cooking was amazing too. I had asked Deanna if it would be alright to work out of the hotel with two of my business partners that live in the area and she said not a problem at all. She even cooked breakfast for them the entire week too! The weather was gorgeous while I was there in early May so we worked on the patio. The WiFi signal was excellent on the patio as well as throughout the house. Will be staying here again on all my future trips to the Willoughly area!

In our book, Homestead is the 'gold standard' for B'n'Bs. Impeccable rooms, over-the-top breakfasts, and right around the corner from Old Towne Willoughby, complete as it is with a full complement of restaurants, wine bars, antique stores, and similar. Deanne is always the gracious hostess, and will come and sit in at the drop of a chapeau. Our only caveat is, if you are watching your waistline, you may wish to ask for reduced portions or slimmer fare at breakfast. Finally, room rates are, in our opinion, below-market. What's there not to like?

I had my first visit to Cleveland last September, and decided to take the travel agent recommendation to stay at the Homestead House. Boy was I ever glad that I did. Not only was it located in a charming area, Deanna treated me like a queen. The room was lovely and spacious and comfortable and quiet. As an admitted foodie, I was more than impressed with the delectable breakfasts which counted as lunch too on most days. I even did an internet search for the recipe for her Oreo Cookie French Toast finale which she served on my final stay. I could find nothing like it. I guess I will need to plan another trip.

Lovely B & B right in the heart of historic Willoughby - a charming town with lots of great restaurants and shops. Dee is an excellent host and a wonderful cook. Breakfast was delicious (gluten free needs accommodated) and the bedrooms and bath are well-appointed and comfortable. The house was restored specifically to be a B & B, so it really works well. A great choice if you're in this area.

I'm about to head off for another stay at the Homestead House. This will be our 5th or 6th year in a row, returning to the hospitality, good food, great community location, and beautiful amenities of this unique establishment. Hats off to Dee and her husband who operate it.

Okay, so this is my second review of Homestead House. For some reason I am no longer "attached" to the first review I did on 11/23/09 that you see here so I cannot update that one but instead choose to do a second review. Since it's been about two years since my last review I though I should update. We stayed in the Sanctuary room again during the Christmas holiday. We just got a reservation as she was pretty much booked and I contacted Deanna only a month before. Since our very first stay back in 2007, I think that's the year she opened, this B&B is steadily busy. During our five night stay all rooms were booked except for one day. Meeting other people over breakfast is always interesting and adds to our stay here. Many we have met are originally from nearby towns and are in town to visit family or friends but yet want the privacy that a B&B allows. Plus you get a wonderful and filling breakfast to boot! I have to say that Deanna outdid herself as far as breakfast! She had the best variety so far. She served up fresh fruits to begin breakfast: pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. One of my favorite breakfasts was a 2-3 oz. steak wrapped in bacon, risotto (she added macadamia nuts that we brought for her), and asparagus spears. YUM! Everything was so delicious! Some of her other baked goods were cinnamon rolls, biscuits with her homemade cinnamon butter, and her homemade syrup was to die for! Wow, wow, WOW! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so staying here is like heaven! It was much too cold for this Hawaii girl to wander outside for long periods but we did get to see the Christmas lights at the square just around the corner, so lovely all lit up at night.

We have stayed here twice during our visits to the Willoughby area and really enjoy it! The house is beautiful with 5 bedrooms and they have Wifi. The innkeeper Deanna Rowe is friendly, knowledgeable and a great cook! She serves up a three course breakfast with coffee and orange juice. The room we have stayed in so far is the Fine Arts room which has a gorgeous carved wood canopied bed from Europe with beautiful bed linen! The bathroom has a shower and a bubbler tub which we enjoyed. On our latest trip we decided to try a different room so we choose the Sanctuary which has a lovely carved wood bed. The bathroom has a shower with body sprays...never knew they could make you feel to relaxed! There's also nice soaps, shampoo and lotions, plus a nice plush robe for your use. The couch in this room was a bit more comfortable than the one in the Fine Arts room plus it had a reading lamp next to it. Since our last stay was for six days, we met a bunch of people coming from as far away as England. There are tables and chairs out on the front porch (which is large) that you can sit and read or just relax. Just next door is an Arabica coffee shop and walking down the street is fun and interesting with the antique stores and other shops! They shopkeepers seem to know each other which I really felt added to the ambiance of this town and the B&B! We walked over to an open market on it's very last day and bought some fruits. There are several restaurants just down the street, Ballentines which is a bar and grill, Olivor Twist which has very good food, and another place whose name escapes me, but they serve Italian food. We used to stay at a hotel but after finding this B&B, no more hotels for us. Staying in a lovely place within walking distance to a charming little town wins hands down for us.
