Went out for a longer endurance ride yesterday morning on the Little Miami, headed out from Loveland to Waynesville. When I hit Waynesville, I began looking for a place to get a bite and happened upon Stonetown Coffee - I'm glad I did. The folks there are unbelievably hospitable and welcoming. I got a sesame bagel with cream cheese, and was offered strawberry jam as well... sure thing! This was exactly what I was looking for, to carb up for my return leg. The bagel was incredibly yummy, esp with the cream cheese and jam playing off each other. I also ordered a small iced coffee, which was very good. The total was $5.50... Afterwards, I asked if I might have some ice for my bottle, and they were very gracious in providing some, asking if I wanted water as well. An extremely friendly cyclists' stop and I highly recommend it if you need a little boost - oh and they make their own biscotti too!

Slightly off the beaten path and nestled into the quiet and quaint historic town of Waynesville. I found myself in the area early in the morning on a drive down to Dayton from Columbus in search of a cup-of-joe to keep me awake for the long day ahead. The coffee shop is a bit hidden off of OH-73 (near the OH-73 and US-42 junction). It is a small cozy place with only one or two tables, but a very relaxed atmosphere. On this particular morning, I enjoyed an incredible Columbian pour-over coffee that was prepared meticulously using proper grinding and brewing techniques. The owners, Dale and Laura, are extremely knowledgeable about the coffee, discussing the origins of the beans and how they relate to their individual flavor profiles. I made sure to pick up a pound of Stonetown's fresh roasted coffee (roasted weekly on Tuesdays) before continuing on my drive. When I am back in the area, I will be sure to stop in again.

Coffee and espresso was much needed in Waynesville and Stonetown has delivered! They roast their own beans in small batches from some of the best coffee growing regions of the world. If you're near Waynesville and desire a great cup of coffee or espresso, check them out.

I found myself in Waynesville during their annual Antique fest. I stopped in near the end of my visit to grab a coffee. I got the Mocha Toddy, and my only regret is that I did not get the large size. The drink is cold-brewed, house roasted coffee mixed with Ghirardelli chocolate, topped with whipped cream and more Ghirardelli chocolate. The drink was rich and refreshing at the same time. I will be making another trip to Waynesville just for this beverage.
