About the best thing I can say about Treo is the house wine is excellent, if one likes a dry merlot. Otherwise, the food was not good and definitely not worth the money. Too bad. There aren't that many restaurants in Sylvania with such a good location. We won't be going back.

I love Treo! My fiancé and I live in Cleveland now but every time we're in town we make it a point to stop in here even if it's just for drinks and apps! I love the lounge, and the bands are a perfect touch. The atmosphere here is just fun. Service has also always been on point. Nate, who runs the show here, is top notch. If you like good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and some great wine I highly recommend this place

Great place to have an upscale dinner or brunch on Sunday. My wife and I both love the food and atmosphere. The beef wellington is awesome.

We went to Treo as part of restaurant week to try some new venues. Located at corner of Maplewood and Main in Sylvania the ambience is very nice, the bar area was very busy and the main dining room is very comfortable. We tried the chicken cordon bleu appetizer which was very good, though not part of the special week menu. We had the smothered pork chop,(delicious) though served with hash browns not the indicated potato pancake, and the steak (very tasty, especially the stuffing) but on the chewy side , the marinara sauce was very good, We plan on returning as the regular menu was chock full of great sounding entrées. Service is great and attentive and knowledgable about food and wines, I would recommend giving Treo a try, for a nice break from corporate dining.

The only complaint I have is when we arrived there a few minutes late we were berated by the hostess. Our server was awesome, knowledgeable and super friendly. The calamari was tender. The French onion soup was so delicious I wanted to lick the cup. His salmon was cooked perfectly as well as my chicken. Great atmosphere! Will be going back.

This place sucks. Lousy food, hit and miss service and expensive. Tried it a couple of times. I am surprised they are still open, with the food as bad as it is coupled with their prices.

This place is just fantastic, so refreshing to go to such a unique, trendy little restaurant. The restaurant itself is very nicely set up between the dining area and the bar. We sat at a corner table next to a big window overlooking the corner of downtown sylvania. It really did remind me of a place you'd go to in Ann Arbor, it's awesome to have a place like this in our neck of the woods. The prices are a little high, but worth it as the food was very good. I got the beef wellington and it was amazing, it came with cream cheese and scallion mashed potatoes, and walnut green beans. And they brought me a side of pasta to by accident for no charge. Everything was so good I didn't want to stop eating, I was so stuffed I could barely move!! It was my birthday so I got a free desserts, I got banana bread pudding omg it was delicious but I only took a few bites as I was ready to explode I was so stuffed!! I will definitely be going back to this gem of a resturant

Atmosphere: Dining room was a fusion of elegance and rustic mid-town restaurant. Lighting was ample, adding to a relaxed ambiance. Starters: I selected the Spinach dip, while my wife opted for the calamari. Our dinner guest choose the Brie. The Spinach dip was nice, but was rather subdued in flavor. The calamari was light and crispy, served with a nice tart marinara sauce, complimenting the flavors without being overpowering. The Brie? One word... amazing. Main Course: We selected the Scallops Grand Marnier, Walnut Walleye, and Eggplant Parmesan. The scallops were prepared perfectly with a light sear, tender and delicious. My wife tried the walleye, which was cooked to perfection, rendering the fish moist and tender. The dish was garnished with maple butter, complimenting the delicate flavors of the fish. Our guest enjoyed the eggplant, commenting that it was certainly one of the best tasting recipes she has encountered. Overall, this is a restaurant worth trying out for those of you seeking something different. Lucas county is densely populated with restaurants, but many leave you wanting something different, unique, and fresh. My family and I are tired of bland steaks smothered in Jack Daniels cheese sauce topped with onion rings, being passed as a creative recipe. You know what I'm talking about if you've toured the Toledo restaurant scene. Trio delivers by differentiating itself with a distinctive atmosphere and menu. Check it out.

This is the place. We had a Sunday wedding reception dinner for 70+ guests and the event was flawless. The wait staff were pros. They served the guests with a flawless precision (and the servings were hot). The open bar was well staffed and no one had to wait for drinks. Appetizers served during cocktails were the best. Kaetlyn, the manager was very helpful in menu selection, bar options., seating, timing etc. We have received many calls from guests that expressed their thanks for a wonderful time. The cost? Excellent value. BTW - Walking distance from a hotel to accommodate overnight guests. Easy parking.

Treo is really cute on the inside and seems like the perfect place you'd take a first date to impress without looking like you're trying too hard. However...this place is WAY overpriced for what they're dishing up. You could get anything on their menu somewhere else in town and it would be tastier and cost much less.

One of my new favorite places! They have different sections of the restaurant depending on what kind of mood you're in. The main dinning room is very nice and very well decorated, a great atmosphere. They also have a lounge area with couches and tables to just sit and relax and chat with your fans, again, the decor is very pleasing and inviting. The food is great! A bit pricey for dinner, but its worth it, because the food is great and you get good sized portions and sides. The drink menu and wine menu is great! Great selection of wines and top shelf liquor, as well as a great selection of beer, both draft and bottles. And as of writing this, Thursday nights are half off burgers! Which are also very good! Check them out! You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic place! You don't feel like you're in Ohio, it definitely has a more urban/big city restaurant feel to it. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, perfect place for going on a date. Some of their menu options are more of a tapas type food portion, so be sure to ask about the items and order a few things to share, if that's the case.

I agree with the first reviewer - the food is great but the service sucks. While our server was attentive, for the most part, she had quite an attitude. There was 5 people in our party and everyone was very happy with their entrees. I would highly recommend both the blackened salmon and the pork tenderloin. I live in the neighborhood so I've watched Treo's business steadily increase over the last 6 months or so. Hopefully more customers have my experience and not the previous reviewers - Treo has potential to be a great restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, great decor... if only they could get the service part right.

Treo or a trio of options? Featuring a lounge and a wine bar, Treo offers great alternatives to the main dining room. Those who know me will gladly inform you that I take dining seriously. Seriously in the sense that unless some form of damage is done both on the caloric front and/or in a belly bursting manner, I refuse to call it an evening. Treo was no exception -- as my girlfriends and I graciously sampled the wide array of choices. Menu items run the gamut of (phenomenal) chevre encroute and (noteworthy and hearty!) mussels for starters and (decent but overpowering with peppercorn) steak and (tasty yet slightly lacking in tenderness) veal saltimbocca di calabria. While the salad topped with Parisian dressing was an excellent lead in to my veal saltimbocca, I was sorely disappointed by the pasta du jour, which consisted of a bowl of limpid spaghetti with a dollop of tomato sauce devoid of flavor and spice. However, the banana bread pudding was a good redemption to the less than stellar accompaniment. Boasting a rich robust flavor of vanilla, caramel, and (obviously) banana, this was the other noteworthy item of the night. Wine-wise, Treo admittedly has one of the most extensive selections in the area. The closest competitor would have to be Vinology in Ann Arbor. As for service, there was no rudeness -- only a positive experience. Our server may have had the tendency to wander off before orders were placed or questions were asked (and disappearing at times), but with a full house, that was understandable. All in all, a nice gem of a place for those looking for a relaxing dining atmosphere.

I go here often because the service is good, food is local, non-chain, neat old building, and food is always pretty good. They also have decent house wine for those who want to enjoy a glass with dinner and not pay too much or worry about selection. Treo has free valet too, plenty of parking but nice touch.

Food is good but service sucks. If you want to be treated nicely, do not use a gift certificate/discount or dine at the bar area the bartender/waitress has some attitude. She had the audacity to tip herself 20% for a crappy service. Otherwise the food is great. I recommend dining in the main area. The owner Fletcher is very accomodating. Has a great Italian wine selection from diff regions. Try the egg pizza if you can request it from the kitchen not usually on the menu but is a great appetizer.

One of the better non chains in the entire Toledo area. The wine list is probably the best in all of Toledo. The food is consistently good and the service good. All in all, one of the better choices - probably top five -- in all of the Toledo area. As one reviewer wrote, it does remind one of Ann Arbor - that is a plus especially for Toledo which is a town that simply does not know how to support free-standing non chain restaurants. Treo is a place you can go frequently and with the specials, experience fine dining without the attitude found in larger cites.

I went to TREO on Valentine's night with my girlfriends, so I did not view the entire menu but, rather a special Valentine selection. My one complaint is that a seemingly upscale restaurant like this should have offered filet mignon on this abbreviated menu! Instead, they offered the NY steak strip, one of my least favorite cuts. For being a strip, it was pretty good. It came out simmering on a board, with my potatoes and asparagus on a separate plate. It was a nice display, but I would have preferred it all on one plate. The salad was simple, but no complaints. I did enjoy it. I wish they would have offered appetizers, but, again the menu had no options besides main course meals. The ambience of the restaurant is very classy with big windows that gave a great view of downtown Sylvania. Apparently, they also have a lounge with live music on the weekends. Overall, it's not Fifi's, but it is a nice restaurant. I want to go back on a weekend to see the lounge and full menu.

Treo and the One2 Lounge are a welcome addition to dinning options in the Toledo area. We were especially impressed with the decor in the lounge. The atmosphere is a sort of space-age bachelor pad pastiche, complete with work from local artists, a projector looping vintage films, and the strains of bossa-nova from a live band (both nights we visited). Though you can't eat style, it is refreshing to find an establishment that has actually given some thought to their overall aesthetic. Fortunately, that sense of taste extends to the menu. I ordered the lasagna one visit and the moules frites on another. The lasagna was excellent, and the moules were delicate and copious. The staff is more than accommodating, and went out of their way to make my wife's birthday special when I made reservations ahead of time. These people obviously care about what they do. If you're tired of the pre-fab chains and want a experience with taste, go to Treo.

Was trying to go to a little cafe in Sylvania on Main Street but it closed at 5:30. I parked at a city lot in the back and while walking to the cafe I got the call they were closed. I spotted this open door and the person coming out asked me if I was going in. I said," I am now." I decided it must be Good Karma so we went to Treo. This is my new favorite restaurant. We have been exploring restaurants in the Sylvania area. Trying all the places that we have never set foot in. I had an excellent Eggplant Parmesan. Nice portions, lightly fried and wonderful flavor. We also ordered a Salmon w Maple Glaze and Angel Hair Pasta. The Salmon was incredible. Fresh bread that was warm with a little crust. The very best Tiramisu I have had in Ohio. The New England Clam Chowder was also top-notch. I would disagree with a recent poster about decor. It wasn't crowded when I went during the week at 5:30 but the tables did seem a little close to each other. Decor was elegant and relaxing. Service was impeccable. Finally, a decent restaurant that wasn't playing Frank Sinatra. They had a modern kind of Jazz vibe going that just added to the ambience. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant that is a little on the pricey side but worth every penny for great food and great service.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
