My husband recently took me to Pita Sub express after his good experience there in April. And I can honestly say it's some of the best Mediterranean food I've eaten. I decided to get the chicken tawook in a bowl and it was so flavorful and all the add ons were great. We also had some homemade baba ganouj (sp?) which was velvety and full of flavor. I honestly wish I lived closer so I could eat here more regularly. The owner and his son were so friendly and personable and I can echo the others sentiments that they are part of the draw of this place. Support your local businesses and eat here - you won't be disappointed!

This is a small place in an unassuming strip mall, probably unknown to most locals(I say this because I came with 3 locals who had never been). Food was good, filling and at a welcoming price.point I came with 3 others who all agreed it was not only a value, but was also pretty good for a quick service Mediteranean. The staff was very kind and helpful and even offered us a free sample of tea! I could care less about presentation, so plasticware and foam plates is cool with me, and likely keeps the prices down! We came at 7pm and were the only ones in the store. With that being said, this place seats no more than 12 people so if you came at lunch and were hoping to sit down, that may not be an option if busy that day.

This is my first time doing a review, but I had to for the experience I had. I went there today and ordered schwarma and tawook bowls (one for me, one for my husband) and a cold herbal tea. First of all, the food was delicious and the tea was an unexpectedly good surprise. But, what made me have to write a review was that I used a yelp coupon for my order but both I and the owner's son (who was checking me out) forgot about it. About 15 minutes later, the owner called me and told me they forgot to take it off and they owe me $5. You don't see that kind of honesty very often. So, even though I live in maumee I definitely will be back. Thanks!

I had a Groupon for here so got carryout one night. For some reason their website wasn't working so I called and asked them to fax a menu. The guy said he would do it but it would be a little while but before 3 p.m. 4:30 came around and still no menu. I pretty much knew what I wanted so no big deal. When I mentioned it to the owner, he told me he didn't have a fax machine in the restaurants and actually drove all the way in order to fax the menu to me! (he realized he forgot the fax number when he got home though poor guy) My falafel was good although it had tabbouli salad in it which I thought was a little weird, but my husband thougth his chicken schwarma was the best he had ever tasted. Don't let appearances deceive you...this place is in a strip mall (like everything here) and the decor consists of plastic tables (piled high with newspapers) and folding chairs. If I didn't have the Groupon I have to admit I wouldn't have gone in based on appearances. That would have been my loss.

I saw this place mentioned on yelp here near me and decided to try it. I got there and it doesn't look like a very great place but I told myself its about the food now the decor. I went to order and the owner there helped me being my first time there. I got a bowl with the tawook with yellow rice, grilled veggies, and a couple other things including the hummus. My food was ready in just a few minutes and there was a lot of it, almost a pound and a half. The flavors were all really great and I can't wait to go back. Excellent service and excellent food for a great price, what's not to love?

I've been waiting for a place like this to open around here. I saw it on Yelp yesterday and decided to try it out. I tried the Tawook (marinated chicken breast) with yellow rice and all of the things I typically get on chicken shawarma. I was not disappointed! Next time I plan to try the beef shawarma or maybe the kafta. I trust that they'll be just as good.

Just visited for the first time. I am picky about Lebanese food because I am Lebanese. I was greeted right away and enjoyed conversation with Zane as he prepared my carry out order and served the customers that sat in the dining area. Our meals were delicious. The hummus excellent!!!! I highly recommend! We will be back. Tasted like it should be a lot more expensive than it was!

The food tasted great, I would recommend carry out though. Dining space is an afterthought, and no bathroom? Is that a health code thing? The bowl itself large, would have been nice if the filling would have matched, if your a big eater go double meat(?). But overall it was quite delish. Had tawook bowl and was given a sample of filafel, a very nice and spicy filafel, did not have much if any allspice, which some use and i dont care for.

So glad I decided to stop in here one day! The owner is such a nice guy; it's like visiting family! Even when it's your first time, he makes you feel welcome. The food is so delicious and fresh! I've tried the gyro bowl, towak bowl and the falafel and and veggie grape leaves. Now its hard to choose when i go in! This is my new favorite place! The hummus is the best I've ever had! The portions are generous and there are specials posted on their Facebook page sometimes!

Pita sub express not only serves wonderful Mediterranean food, but the owner Zein's energy and friendly demeanor just bring this place up to a 5 star in my book! I've been here twice already. Both time I got a bowl. I'm addicted to grape leaves so I ordered that with a bowl full of veggies and cucumber sauce. The Tawook aka marinated chicken breast is very delicious as well. I love going here because Zein cooks your food up while chatting up a storm with you. He's hilarious and it's always great the food is freshly made, not stuff sitting there for hours before it goes into your stomach. Today Zein gave me some herbal tea he made and it was delicious! I love tea and he told me there are 4 different types of spices in it. I hope more people would support this family business!

I've been driving by this place for years and today was the first time I stopped. I don't think today will be my last visit! I had A pita with tawook (chicken, awesome chicken), cucumber sauce, yellow rice, grilled onions and zucchini, lettuce, and tomato. I might leave the lettuce off last time, it made it a little messier. The owner was fun to talk with and very pleasant, and was kind enough to warn me not to unwrap the pita before eating it, thank goodness! He gave my friend and I some herbal tea to try, it was very good and very flavorful. For less than $8, this lunch was spectacular.

What a unique take on Mediterranean food. This is like subway on crack. I mean in the most respectable way possible. You aren't going to get an entree here but instead pita sandwiches or bowls with your choice of kafta, chicken tawook, steak, gyro, a vegetarian option, and maybe a few more that I'm forgetting. You get to pick your sides and dressings and you wait 5 minutes. Boy the wait was well worth it. As I'm writing this my mouth is watering remembering the tasty tawook and yellow rice pita. Every bite was amazing and very reasonably priced. The hummus wasn't the best u ever had but tasted fresh and by far wasn't bad. My little brother who is new to Mediterranean loved his gyro sandwich. The owner (I think he was the owner) was a great friendly guy. He even gave me a coupon telling me to come back and try the bowl option for even more food. For everyone's information I was full with what I had but it's nice to know I have options. I can't wait to come back and take the wife. Also how cool is it that they have basically a half off coupon on yelp. This is a must go to for healthy awesome Mediterranean fast food.

This place is my new favorite quick Mediterranean restaurant! I highly recommend the "bowl" option - kind of a unique take on this type of food. This place is very unassuming - located in a Sylvania stripmall where a number of restaurants have come and gone over the years. I'm hoping everyone else discovers how great this place is so they stay longer than their predecessors. One of the previous posters took a photo of the menu which is helpful if you're calling ahead.

We love to find (and support) local family-owned restaurants where it's obvious they take pride in what they do. The food here is amazing, very reasonably priced, and the folks who own it are incredibly nice. Had a Falafel bowl with rice, lots of toppings, and a side of hummus. Oh, and the Lebanese salsa is the best I've had. Wow! Will definitely be back often!
