My partner took me to Selah for my birthday and I was completely blown away. The service was efficient, our server (Renee) had some awesome recommendations, the atmosphere was romantic and artistic, and the food and drinks were unbelievable. I can't wait to go back. It was most definitely a memorable birthday.

This restaurant truly is beautiful. I feel like I am in New York City or another American city with nice restaurants. They did a beautiful job with the decor and kept it in sync with the style of the old bank in which it is housed. The food is "fresh" and always attractive. If you are going for lunch, I'm afraid they don't have man-sized portions so some people could leave hungry. Surprisingly, for a "fancy" restaurant, they do not have fresh, brewed iced tea. Unbelievable. Somewhat pricey. The homemade cakes are delicious! I have been going there since it opened and have always been disappointed in the slow service. I would go there more often if the service was attentive since I work across the street and get an hour lunch. I DO recommend this restaurant except for the service and the lack of fresh, brewed iced tea. We need more restaurants like this in the area with fresh foods made from scratch.

This is certainly a hidden gem that often gets overlooked because of Donavito's across the train tracks. I originally went there for lunch with my boss when we had a stressful day, and we ended up making that our 'go to' for any sort of events/parties for our organization. For starters, the building is SO cool! It was the old First Federal bank and they left the old vault/vault door, teller windows (the brass bars) and left the bricks bare, too. It sort of looks like a 'de-constructed' building on the inside: all of the old copper pipes are showing and the cherry wood is beautiful, as are the old light fixtures. It's just a really nice place with a good feel to it. The food here is delicious: from the soups and the bakery to their breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Some of my favorite dishes are the Asiago Alfredo with spinach (and chicken), the Feta Tomato burger, the Tuscan flat (oh soooooo good), the Penne ala Vodka sauce is super good...I could go on and on and on. It's just SO good! The other thing that's wonderful about this restaurant is how involved they are with local nonprofs and how supportive they are of the local arts. When I'm home, I go here ALL of the time.

Been here 4 or 5 times. Excellent, fresh and creative dishes. Homemade rolls and desserts. Fresh pasta. Everything I've had has been delicious. And the atmosphere is delightful.

Awesome! I never come to downtown struthers, but this place is well worth it. I had no idea that it even existed. But at the recommendation from a friend, can down for dinner last week. Parking lot and entrance well lit and welcoming. Host was great. Atmosphere and decor was perfect. Classy but comfortable....just like the menu! Great offerings at great prices. And put together using quality ingredients. Definitely give it a try!

Very good especially for lunch. Nice atmosphere. Healthy menu selections. Left feeling full but not stuffed. Desserts are also wonderful and reasonably priced. Has a NYC feel to it.

Pretty solid food and great atmosphere. The device was more than solid and I definitely would go back. I think their liquor menu (not much in the way of brown liquor) could use some additions considering it is not an inexpensive meal, although I realize local tastes may drive that. Steak was good and I always respect a cook who can actually resist not overcooking rare. Hummus appetizer would be meaningfully better with toasted rather than cold I toasted pita. The pistachio cake was very good. I'd go back again.

Decided to go to Selah's for a small family birthday get together. They usually have great food and the service is usually pretty decent. Also we really like to patronize local businesses. With that being said, our service and food was far less than par. I think there was only one server for the entire place. We didn't place our order until over an hour after we'd been there. When our food finally came, only 1 person out of the 9 people actually enjoyed their food. The steak boucherie had a texture like liver and had absolutely no taste. The server offered to take the steak back to put seasoning on it 20 minutes later when she was asking if we wanted dessert. Those who ordered penne alla vodka said there was no flavor either. They also add a $20 cake fee if you bring your own cake. Our server had an attitude when we spoke up about the steak. It is unfortunate that we had both bad food and bad service. More than likely I don't think anyone from our party will return.

My wife and I visited Selah Restaurant for dinner before going to a Josh Turner Show at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown. Never having been in Youngstown, we consulted Yelp to find a good place to eat. After reading the reviews, we settled on Selah and were not disapointed. As others have stated, the restaurant is in an old bank and it shows, providing a unique and charming venue for dinner. Aside from the excellent atmosphere, the food was wonderful. We started with the fresh mozzarella and roasted pepper appetizer. It came with fresh rolls and some excellent olive tapenade. For our dinner each of us ordered steak. I got the Steak de Boucherie, a flatiron steak, cooked to perfection, and served with a baby greens salad, caramelized onions and asparagus. My wife got the Bourbon Beef Tips, cooked to medium with a bourbon sauce. We did not get dessert, but they looked wonderful. The staff was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant. By the way, if you like iced tea, get it here. It is some of the best iced tea that I have ever had at a restaurant.

My husband and I brought a couple from out of town for dinner this last week. We had just read the article in the Vindy, and decided it was time to give it a try. It was a Thursday evening and we were greeted right away at the door by a lovely young lady named Renee who was also our server. She was very knowledgable about the history of the the restaraunt( my hubby asked lots of questions about this old bank turned into a dining place) once seated we looked through a lovely wine list with very affordable but very good wines and a great selection of craft beers which made the boys happy. Our server new quite a bit about the wine and beer. She knew the menu well and easily answered our questions. We each ordered something different and it was all amazing especially the Devonshire steak and the homemade gnocchi. Our server then convinced us we could not leave with out homemade dessert so we shared a creme brûlée and a piece of carrot cake. They did not disappoint and neither did Selah. Amazing homemade food, great drinks and A+ service we will definately be back!

Great service and fun overall experience at this converted bank now restaurant. Really enjoyed the ham melt which was very satisfying even without additional condiments. Would definitely go back to try additional dishes when in town.

This is my new favorite restaurant. It feels like it should be in a larger more hip city. The atmosphere is great and so unique, being in an old bank. It's refreshing to have a local restaurant that's not just spaghetti and meatballs. The food was delicious and the dessert very tempting. We spent Valentines Day dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'm sure I'll be back with friends!

I really enjoy this place. I just wish it had a bar to relax in prior to dinner. Once the weather breaks it might be possible to sit outside for awhile first. Until then we'll have a drink across the street first. We had a great meal last week, I had the special which was a lamb ragout over a blanket pasta, my girl had the chicken with portobellos, feta and spinich which was very good also. Service is a little rough around the edges but I don't think it's due to a lack of caring. More one of training and experience. It is in Struthers I had to remind myself, only a few places striving for this kind of food and atmosphere within 25 miles. The effort is there. Prices are good, especially if you're familiar with prices outside of the Youngstown area. The building and atmosphere certainly make you feel that you have traveled to another city for dinner and that is a good thing now and then.

Despite calling a month in advance to book the vault, and despite having been told that my reservation was secure, my party was bumped due to a staff error. I called to confirm a few days before our night out and was asked if I would mind sitting somewhere else. When I told them we'd had our reservations in the vault for a month I was told by a staff person that he'd speak with his manager and call me back. No call back. When I arrived at the restaurant assuming my party would be in the vault I found them seated outside the vault at a table. The only good part of the night were the spectacular efforts of Emily, the manager or hostess of the night, who tried to make our experience a good one, and the crab cakes I had as an appetizer. Other than Emily the service was lackluster, the rolls were stale and the entre was unauthentic.

We dined here on Thursday nite and it was very nice. Great atmosphere, great service, and the music was wonderful. They have a jazz singer on Thurs. nights. He was very good. Music was so relaxing. Food was excellent. I am looking forward to our next visit and dinning in their vault. The place is located in an old bank and has so much character. didn't order any drinks but the wine list looks great and the martini menu is fabulous.

Selah used to be DA BOMB when it first opened! As the years went down, so did the service and food quality. I still have to say this is one of the best places in y-town, but that's not a lot to say in a general statement. Overall: good meal ideas, tasty but limited drink menu, great atmosphere, and consistently expect theeee worst service.
