    Excellent service, Rose waited on us and she was very polite. The were a few issues with the food, but the service was so great. It outweighed any delay. This neighborhood restaurant is a gem, and my wife really enjoyed the shrimp and grits

    We went here on a busy Tuesday Trivia night (and won! All hail the victors: 30 Something Shades of Grey!) It was a little chaotic and a lot of fun. This place has a lot of charm and atmosphere, being in an old house. Unfortunately you realize that there is also a lot of wasted space. An oversized bathroom and strange layout contributes to this. Still, it is very cool to walk in and think, oh this used to be a house. Nifty. Service was not outstanding. The waiter seemed to be running around ragged and had little time to make us feel comfortable. I had to flag him down once because the whole table needed to order beers. The food was 50/50 and I say this because my pizza was amazing with the chorizo pepperoni, but my date's pesto pie was subpar and lacking in flavor. The crust was spot on though and tasted really really good. I also tried my friend's bacon pizza and it was fairly awesome. I think that they need to have a specialty pie that showcases the bacon and the waiter said that they even smoke it in house. We certainly got a good sized portion and had some leftovers to take home. And please, do yourself a flavor favor and try the french fries. They were very good and so was the spicy ketchup that came with. Finally, the drink menu was decent, since they had a couple craft beers on tap and a few more in bottle. Nothing to make you go "wow" but still enough to keep me happy.

    Had resverations for 6. Drinks and apps came out relatively quick. Order 6 pies. 1hr and 15 minutes later were got up to leave and should have walked out. Unfortunately i stopped at the front to make them aware that couldn't wait any longer....they offered no explanation (restaurant didn't appear busy), offered no comps...nothing. We had Groupons. At this point I'm willing to eat the Groupon so i don't have to go back.....very disappointing

    We had fun at Pie's the other night. It happened to be trivia night at the bar which was enjoyable. And the brussels sprouts appetizer was very good, although they gave me and my gf explosive, smelly gas. A few things irked me enough to not go back. First off, I didn't love our bartender's attitude. He gave off an heir of arrogance and indifference. He was better than the other bartender, whom we never saw crack a smile. Secondly, the chicken pesto pizza was bland and boring, although the description sounded very tasty. The bartender had recommended this pizza over another option that was less expensive. My initial thought was he recommended it because of the price differential - based on his attitude - and that was confirmed after tasting it. I will say that the crust was delicious. Thirdly, when the bartender asked us if we liked it, we straight told him the truth. He asked if we wanted to try something else. What he was really asking is whether we wanted to buy another pizza, not whether he could make good on bad advice. It was a greedmove. Fourth, the owner - who had been sitting at the bar and recognized us as new customers - introduced himself and inquired about the meal. We told him straight up that we did not like the pizza, but that the sprouts were very good. He seemed interested in our feedback, but did nothing to entice us to come back. A small gift card at the least, or perhaps take a little off the bill. That's all it would have taken for us to give it another shot. Bush league management is what that is. If you live in Reynoldsburg, give it a try but not the chicken pesto pizza. It's a friendly environment with an adequate bottled craft beer selection. Oh yeah, but parking is a real issue...

    Linda M nailed the problems with Pies. My husband and I really wanted this to work also. With very little in Reynoldsburg we were excited when it first opened. The owners originally invested in top notch chefs and staff. Little by little the owners chipped away at everything good. They don't respect their qualify staff or opinions. Which is the true underlying problem with service and unhappy staff. The owners have no interest in the restaurant business. I truly believe they opened Pies for 2 reasons 1) they owned the building, and were looking for a way to generate revenue 2) the owners enjoy drinking. (I've seen him drunk on many occasions in the bar and dining area.) they opened Pies so that they would always have a seat at THIER bar to watch his Missouri State ballgames and eat cheap bar food with his buddies.. We through the towel in on this place over a year ago. When the owners really slashed quality. Really missed the staff. They are wonderful people, who worked really hard to ensure a good dining experience. At the time we were regulars,(3/4x a week) and it did not mean a thing to the owners. They are arrogant, and with little knowledge of the restaurant business, they really feel we are suppose to treat them like royalty, as if we should be so lucky to be there For a great dining experience drive a little farther down 256 to Scali's. You will meet the owners, but not at the bar. The wife will great and seat you while her husband prepares your food. They do get busy but are also professional.

    I've been to Pies twice now (and had carryout one other time) and I'm pretty happy with the overall experience. The one "stock" pizza that I've ordered off of the menu was from shortly after they opened, and they no longer have it unfortunately. It was the duck pizza, which had duck eggs & roast duck on it. A little greasy, but that's to be expected when dealing with duck. My parents and I came and were seated promptly, got our pizzas promptly. While I can't remember what I ordered, the smoked bacon and Gouda pizza my mother ordered was phenomenal. It was so good that I ordered it again when I took my girlfriend back a few weeks later, and then she proceeded to eat most of mine instead of her chorizo-pepperizzo pizza. Every Tuesday night at 7pm they have trivia upstairs in the bar area, and every Thursday they have live music. The trivia is a lot of fun, and there are teams of all skill levels there. Fun fact; Pies was at one point a house. My girlfriend pointed out to me that growing up, she went to school with a girl whose family lived there, and that she remembered hanging out in what was now the upstairs bar, as a little kid.

    Complimentary valet parking, how's that to start with? Very nice brick patio with enough shrubbery around to make the Knights that say Nee green with envy. Which makes it an acceptitionally quiet patio, given it sits on the corner of Waggoner & Main in Reynoldsburg. This place is a very old house turned restaurant, in its most recent incarnation. There is a very nice bar on the second floor. The staff from the valet, greeter, server, bartender could not have been more pleasant. Well I guess they could have but that would have only made me angry. ;o) The menu was a boarder range than I anticipated, which made me reconsider more than once. Adult beverages were more than your standard Bud & Bud Light - the Reynoldsburg standard. The presentation of the food was very good. The salad was good, though it tasted like too much dressing - yet there wasn't a lot left on the plate. Pizza was fresh with upscale toppings. One very odd thing is they charge $3.00 for a soft drink in an 8 oz. glass (filled with ice) and do not offer refills. Which seems extremely Mayor Bloomberg like. I don't drink soft drinks, but that seemed a bit ridiculous.

    Stopped in yesterday, a Tuesday evening. Trivia night was going on upstairs in the bar, however, we sat in the kitchen area. Nice, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. We got the spinach salad and toasted ravioli followed by a meatball pizza. All dishes were good and well seasoned. I would like to see ricotta as an option for pizza to make a ricotta meatball pie. No beer on tap, but they will have whatever style you like in a bottle and a couple choices of each. The chef stopped by to chat and see how everything was, which was nice. We ordered a mushroom pie to go for later. It was also very good. No room for desert, but they looked really good. Very good experience overall. We will definitely be back.

    Tuesday pizza night happens to be trivia night at Pie's Gourmet Pizza Bistro - that works for me! Oh, except that made parking difficult as PGPB's small lot was jammed and I have too much Catholic guilt to allow me to park in Classic Pizza's lot next door. Pie's Gourmet has a very nice "upscale" dining area downstairs. That area was almost empty. The Pub Upstairs was jam packed with diners, drinkers and trivia players. Fortunately, I found a place at the end of the bar. The beer selection was quite nice and service was great. I was given a small bowl of popcorn to assist with the beer consumption. My first bite, I thought to myself, "meaty, smokey salt on the popcorn?" The confirming second bite was, "yeah, damn that's good." After I devoured the small bowl, I was asked if I liked it. Upon confirmation of my like for it, I was told that they had popped the popcorn in bacon fat that day. Hot, holy hell that was good. Granted, I can see some people, for religious or dietary reasons, being very upset about being told about bacon after-the-fact. Fortunately, I'm not one of those people. Yum. PGPB's menu goes way beyond pizza. The appetizer section alone had my mouth watering with such items as crispy prosciutto wrapped dates and fried mushroom risotto cakes. Oh, I'll be back for those. Tuesdays, however, are all about pizza. The pizza menu lives up to the "Gourmet" name - nothing traditional here. Even the "make your own" ingredients are far from the norm. Rather than our normal pep and shroom, I had them cobble together a chorizo peperoni and wild mushroom pie. As the pizzas are all individual sized, I also ordered up the meatball pie. PGPB's crust is thick, but light and chewy with good air pockets. Sadly, the crisp on the outside just wasn't crispy enough for my tastes. The toppings were all very fresh and tasty. The sauce had a very distinctive red wine, robust tartness to it - delish. So, with all of this goodness, why just A-OK? Well, time for a pizza pet peeve rant. On both pies, the toppings were mostly under the melted cheese. Since there was ample sauce, once the cheese cooled a bit, this meant that extracting a piece of pizza with all the toppings in tact was impossible. It also made it difficult to get a bite without all of the toppings coming off and slapping you in the chin. Extracting and eating difficulties aside, the real issue is that we humans have taste buds on our tongues and, especially for pizza purposes, on the roofs of our mouths. So why make the bland cheese the first thing to hit those taste buds? Why cover up the oh so flavorful mushrooms or that brilliant chorizo pepperoni? When you do that, you totally lose much of the flavor. You also lose the crisp, cuppiness that pepperoni can get - so now you've lost texture as well. If I could change one thing in the pizza world as a whole, I would outlaw putting flavorful toppings under cheese. So, PGPB - Five stars on your creative menu, your location, and your service - I'll be back to try those other items on the menu. On the pizza - it's A-OK, but, boy would I love for you to expose those awesome flavors you're hiding from my taste buds.

    We had a lovely evening on the patio at Pie's to enjoy the first day of sun after many days of rain. Aside from the service being a little slow (maybe they were short staffed?), everything was great. The drink menu was well thought out, small but not barren, and they had good happy hour pricing. The pizzas themselves were fantastic (although I wish the waitress would have noted the price of the "special" was $2 more than anything else on their pizza menu), full of flavor and on a thin (but not too thin) hand tossed crust. Their valet setup is a bit awkward since their driveway is only one way. Overall a pretty good place and I'd definitely stop in for "upscale pizza" again sometime.

    This place is fantastic, from start to finish. To start, the beer selection is great for a small place. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out what to order beverage-wise, and then another good 15 minutes to try to figure out what food to order. Everything looked appetizing. And, you can't beat the fact that the restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. I started off with the Brussels sprouts, which were absolutely amazing. Yes, I hear you skeptics. I can hear you thinking "who orders that in a restaurant?" Just trust me. Order the Brussels sprouts. They are fried and served with a roasted garlic and parmesan aioli. Absolutely divine. I ordered the chicken pesto pizza, which was delicious. I was disappointed in myself when I could not finish the whole thing. One comment--the coffee was way overpriced. I think it was $6 or something absurd like that. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, but way overpriced The service was stellar. The server was very attentive and I loved that they use a tablet point of sale system, so they show you your check on the tablet and then print it for you. And, when the maitre'd noticed that I had left my lights on, they let us know so that I would not run out of battery power. I don't live in the area, and I think that's probably a good thing! I would definitely be a regular at Pies Gourmet Pizza Bistro!

    Definitely go for the pizza, but skip their ice cream and go to Jeni's. A friend had been telling us for months to try Pie's, but come on - drive all the way out to Reynoldsburg for pizza? Seriously? Seriously. Yeah, he was right. This place was amazing. Pie's is in a big, repurposed house, and the interior is really beautiful. The service was fantastic, and the house-made pizzas are gourmet, yet rustic at the same time. Is that even possible? One pizza should be plenty to fill up a single person, and you might even be able to split one if you and your dining partner aren't that hungry. The toppings choices are enough to make any gastronome cry, and the medium-thick crust is a chewy delight. Pie's also has a great drink selection, and bartender-extraordinaire Cris Dehlavi does some consulting here - so of course I'm kicking myself for settling on a bottled cider. The only let-down for me was their homemade ice cream. Maybe it's because I was promised "better than Jeni's", and let's be real - nobody is better than Jeni's. Nevertheless, I went into dessert with an open mind that was expecting to be blown, but what I got was an overly-sweet, icy mess. Oh well. Don't be deterred by the ice cream - get your ass in gear for your long drive to Reynoldsburg!

    Went with the wife on Saturday night and it wasn't busy at all. Plenty of seating downstairs as well as upstairs at the bar where we sat. It was our first time at the establishment and we didn't know what to expect. They had 2 televisions playing sports, but the poor angles didn't give much visibility beyond a couple of choice seats. On one hand it seemed like a white table cloth restaurant, but the atmosphere and menu seemed more relaxed. I couldn't really get a handle of where they want to fit in. The waiter gave fair warning that things were running a little slow out of the kitchen that night, and we appreciated the heads-up. It ended up being faster than we were led to believe. They have a limited selection of draft beers (2), but a good list of bottled beers. Food was hit or miss, but I'm not sure if I didn't like what we ordered or if it was poorly prepared. We split an order of tempura fried pickled vegetables which were "meh". They had a decent batter, smallish size serving, light picked flavor, carrots were too hard, and the aioli dipping sauce was good but not enough was provided. I had the shrimp and grits which were very nice, and the wife and I shared her pesto chicken pizza. The pizza overall had too smoky of a flavor which would have been okay if there was another flavor to compliment it, but pretty much all we could taste was the smoke. There was a good amount of chicken, but the rest of the toppings were sparse. I couldn't taste the walnut pesto at all.

    Oh No - what has happened to this amazing gem? Went tonight and service slow as well as unfriendly, food out side of the still amazing Brussel Sprouts, average at best. Showed up at 6:30 to sit on patio which was already full except for the table right in front of the smoker. They said typically already done, but not tonight, so we chose to have a drink upstairs and wait for a table outside. Staff up stairs not very friendly once they realized we were just having drinks. Once outside, didn't improve much. Took a very long time for out food which was just OK. Server said that everyone got seated at once and kitchen got backed up..... Well you only open for dinner on a Friday night at 5:00..... Yes, guess what everyone shows up at once! Shrimp scampi - flavorless:(. Please figure this out the location and ambiance is great! So disappointing.

    We saw a groupon for this place so we thought we'd give it a shot. We're glad we did! My wife and I both agreed that we'd come back again. The restaurant is in an old house, which I found quite charming. Yes, the valet parking is required because they are very limited on space. I can live with it. When you walk in, there are two different dining spaces on the first floor. We were sat to the right, which felt more like grandma's dining room. Charming! Probably where they seat families (we had our young daughters with us). To the right, it felt more like a bar, so this made perfect sense to me! Our waiter was very inviting, informative, and helpful. He was friendly to our daughters and was happy to help us when we told him it was our first visit. We ordered two pizzas which, depending on your appetite, are good for one or two people. I could eat a full one myself, but if it's pizza, I can put it away pretty easily. We enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer, but it was a pretty small portion. I think there were 5 for $7? The pizzas were much more comparable to their value. Speaking of pizza, we ordered one white pizza and one mushroom with red sauce, both ordered straight from the menu. I really liked both of them! When I go back, I'd probably order the same thing. I'd recommend this place to a couple for a date night or a family for a dinner night out. They also have Tuesday night trivia upstairs (more of a bar-feel up there too), but I am told from both employees that I spoke to there that Tuesday trivia gets busy and it's hard to find a seat if you show up too late! So I think our next visit will be a Tuesday evening, but we'll make sure to arrive early.

    I really loved my experience at Pie's! I live on the east side so it's great to have a real restaurant and not some sad chain place to visit for a nice dinner out. We came here on a Saturday night and sat on the patio. It's so pretty out there, with a fire pit and tables with umbrellas. The hostess and the waiter were helpful and prompt. We ordered some apps, the cheesy bread and the "toasted" ravioli. It's actually deep fried ravioli. Here's the thing, I kind of hate deep fried ravioli because it can get soggy and chewy at the same time. This was in no way like other versions I've had. THIS WAS AWESOME. It was crispy and not overly greasy and stuffed with delicious cheese. Highly recommended! I ordered the Il Gardino pizza and a riesling. It's a standard veggie pizza. I enjoyed it. My friend got the mushroom pizza and it was something really special. There was toasted goat cheese on top and absolutely covered with a bunch of different kinds of mushrooms. My friend got the fried chicken and it was delicious. A little spicy and super crispy and not soggy. For dessert we all shared a bunch of different desserts: brownie, bread pudding, strawberry ice cream and cheesecake. They were all great but the real star was the bread pudding. Super decadent--definitely something to share. My only confusion/concern is the required free valet parking. I guess they want to maximize the parking area? Either way, someone may see this as a positive. I mostly just feel like a weirdo handing over the keys to my shitty little chevy to a college kid and wishing him luck. I know there are some yelpers out there who are like "What, go to the suburbs for dinner?" You should totally go. They are doing the most out there. I can't wait to come back out there with a date for a romantic dinner. It's definitely a good place for a nice night out with your sweetie.

    My husband has been looking forward to trying this restaurant, and with groupon in hand, I gave in. This place was a great delight. We chose to eat in the dinning room; what cute space. We started with Shrimp and Grits... I have seen this on other menus, but never had the nerve to try it. This was definitely the place to give it a go.... 'gulf shrimp served atop creamy sharp cheddar cheese grits', perfect description with phenomenal taste. I chose the four cheese pizza (it's not on their online menu, and I can not remember the official name) with an addition of lobster... the combination of basil, cheese blend, and lobster was succulent. Only complaint, I wish the lobster was cut up a little smaller... to have a piece in every bite, perhaps I will order it that way next time.... there WILL be a next time. My husband chose the meatball pizza... I didn't take a chance to try it, but he loved it.; perfectly seasoned. We finished the meal with maple-bourbon bread pudding with coconut ice cream... again, only one complaint... the ice cream has chocolate chips which we both agree take away from the flavor. A fun addition: the executive chef made the round to each table, after the main course to ensure that everything was up to standards. He even checked on us after our dessert was served. This was a great meal, and we will definitely return. Side note: due to very limited parking, there is mandatory complimentary valet parking, so have a little cash on you.

    A group of gals from work and I were lured to Pie's for Trivia. Tuesdays at 7 pm in their upstairs pub. Well, we got there at 6:30 and it was full--people started getting there at 5:15 to hold tables! So we stayed for dinner downstairs in the dining room. Really interesting layout as this used to be a home. Their open-air kitchen totally feels like a home kitchen, but in a good, friendly, "come watch us cook" kind of way. The staff was friendly. "Pie" himself visited the table, as well as the executive chef. "Pie" was a little too friendly and kept chatting it up and patted our friend's shoulder whose pet peeve coincidentally is being touched by strangers. Hands to yourself, "Pie"! I had the pizza with all sorts of mushrooms and added sausage. Very good! And they had this chili oil spray that I literally wanted to aim in my mouth--so good! We went for the Trivia, stayed for the pizza, but won't make a special trip out there again. I don't frequent Reynoldsburg, but if you do--try it. You'll like it!

    Went with a friend for dinner. We shared deep fried ravioli, bruschetta and the garden pizza with a Moscow Mule to wash it down. Service was great and so was the food. Not too heavy but filling. I would definitely go back!

    I learned that they closed 2 days after my visit and I feel bad. I was going to give them another try and I support independent establishments vs chain restaurants. Maybe our poor customer service was due to the knowledge of their closing.

    Well, we tried again... Can't blame me for trying. But, we were let down yet again by the service. This time we got there and were told it was 30 minutes for a table, which was fine for a Saturday night. However I attempted to go upstairs to get a drink while waiting and was quite rudely told that they have a "new policy" that no one can go to the bar, even to get a drink and bring back down while waiting. They said the servers felt it sometimes got too crowded and sometimes people ordered food from the bar , and that was a problem.... Absolutely inappropriate. We will not be back, and I suggest you skip as well unless you like this kind of customer last service.

    Tried to go to pies again. There was a sign that there was a thirty minute wait. Not unusual in busy restaurants. Went inside, said we were checking to see if we could go upstairs to bar, a very curt and clearly stressed out person said no we have no room. Did they ask if we wanted to put our names on a list? No. Did anyone say sorry and thank us for coming in? No. Went to scalis, promptly seated and wonderful meal. Question: why are all the reviews that aren't "recommended " all bad? Another question: when will pies get decent management and how much longer will they stay open????

    RIP OFF. The owner worked with Tyler from Tyler's bakery, literally not even a quarter mile down Main Street. Pies owner asked Tyler to show him the ropes of the business hoping to open his own shop. in turn he opened up a pizza shop in sight of Tyler's bakery and stole his sauce recipe. The pizza is good and you can thank Tyler's bakery's for that. I'll never support a business that was born out of thievery. Hope you won't either. Eat at Tyler's bakery.

    I live on the east side. This, Lomonico's, and Wine Guy are the three best restaurants in the Pickerington/Reynoldsburg area. We were waited on by the head chef last time we were there, and he was extremely personable. The food: delicious. The building: authentic. The drinks: awesome. TLDR: Favorite restaurant in the area. Go there.

    First of all, I really don't understand why people write reviews that haven't eaten the food. Nobody wants to hear about your extended greeting time or how long it took you to get a drink. No matter how great any restaurant and their service, every place is going to have a bad day once in a while. Especially when places get busy, someone is going to get shorted. I used to work in the restaurant industry so I know this to be a fact. I was good at what I did, but occasionally became overwhelmed and dropped a ball or two. Sometime this would occur even when we were not busy, just because our heads were not in the game. We're only human, so get over yourselves and your mother issues. Pie's is a phenomenal place. They have a classic trained, professional chef, and they serve many other things besides pizza. Almost everything is made in house from scratch, including their ice cream. Their meats are are included in this. The pepperoni is one exception where they have another local company custom make the pepperoni for them. The goal was that, when the pepperoni turns into a little bowl when cooked, it doesn't fill with a puddle of grease. I know this because on my fifth visit, I just happened to be sitting next to the owner at the bar upstairs. He came over to ask me how everything was, so I asked him some detailed questions about his business. There are many wonderful things on the menu besides the chorizo pepperoni pizza and the maple bourbon bread pudding... Duck Confi is a special on the menu at times. Absolutely wonderful! I requested this be a permanent item. It is a duck thigh that is marinated in duck fat for a week, then cooked in that same fat. It is turned into a hash with sweet potatoes and an egg on top. Some of the best tasting food I have ever had. The places is an old, white colonial style home. It's a beautiful place with a very cozy styled bar upstairs. The indoor live music is a nice touch. The owner told me his story.. He always had a dream of opening his own restaurant. Pie's Bistro is a man living his dream, so a lot of care and respect goes into the food. I'd much rather eat a place like this than one of the many chains in town. One of the future plans for the company is to have brunch on the weekends. I am very much looking forward to this. Everyone needs to try this place!!! I tell my friends that seem uninterested, "expand your redneck pallets, and eat something other than Applebee's and Pizza Hut!" Ha!

    We live just down the street from Pie's and were thrilled when we heard that about its opening. Reynoldsburg is chain restaurant country, and having a place in town with a big-name chef and locally sourced ingredients is a welcome change. We went for the first time shortly after it opened and were thrilled with our experience. The Pork Belly Mac and Cheese was a revelation and the Pepporizo (chorizo pepperoni) Pizza was a great new take on an old standby. The food at Pie's is great but it has to split the spotlight with its cocktail menu. Mike's Manhattan is my staple. As the owner likes to say, it's the only cocktail that comes with its own dessert (cognac-soaked cherries). If you come on Thursday Cris Dehlavi [of M at Miranova] is working and they're starting to bring in live entertainment. The upstairs bar has a great happy hour 5-7 with all drinks $1 off and $10 bottles of wine. We try to make it at least every week or two. As far as the East side goes, there aren't many places like Pie's. If you live in the area and haven't been, get out there.. you will be glad that you did. You don't have to go downtown to get great, original food anymore.

    We have been to Pie Gourmet twice now and are happy to have it near by. there are a few improvements that can be made, but i really like the concept and enjoyed the food enough to return. i do have a few things i would change though. firstly the flatware. the flatware feels like i am eating off of the cheapest metal ever made. i would almost prefer plastic ware. the tables downstairs need coasters or tablecloths. the ipad idea is nice and im happy to see people using newer tech, but its cumbersome and unneccessary. the pork belly appitizer is amazing!! teh wrapped figs were great and flavorful. the pizzas are great, but seems like they are still working on consistancy, brurnt crust 1st time, underdone 2nd. toppings were delish though, so im sure they will get it right soon enough. also had the melon appitizer and really enjoyed goat cheese for the first time! had the opportunity to try scallops casino as a test dish and that was sooo goood:) cocktail menu interesting and refreshing, bartenders need to work on consistancy there too. friendly staff, really worth a try! we will be back.

    Bottom line: the food was excellent! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because some of it seemed priced high for the portions (but not for my meal) and their service isn't quite where it needs to be yet. A group of 10 of us went for dinner and we were all pleased with our food. I had Brussels sprouts prepared to perfection in a skillet without being oily and with light touches of a delicious sauce. I also had a scallop special prepared and served on the shell with a sauce and pancetta that were amazing. I almost went back tonight.

    Wow! Truly impressed with Pies! My husband and I love going to restaurants that try to use local ingredients. We were not aware that Pies does this nor were we aware of their awesome beer list including ciders. We really enjoyed the home made crust and traditional topping of pepperoni, tomato, onion and bacon. Even though we are usually gluten free - we inhaled it and ordered another to go for the family to try. Definitely coming back. Plus 2 pizzas and 2 drinks $35!

    I'll start off by saying that the atmosphere was great. For being in reynoldsburg, Pies was a true breath of fresh air. The wonderful outdoor patio, gave a homey vibe that is not akin to most restaurants in town. However, the food was mediocre and the service was slow. The meatball pizza was tasteless, but the pepperoni was decent. I would however, go back a second time to try something else on the menu. But hey, for being in Reynoldsburg, it was pretty good.

    We visited Pie's this past Saturday night with a group of 6 adults at 6:45 PM for dinner. We had called in advance earlier that day to make reservations, but were told they were not taking reservations unless we wanted to book at 5 PM or after 8 PM. We decided to give it a whirl and just show up at 6:45 without reservations. When we arrived, the downstairs area (including kitchen seating) was mostly empty, and we were offered either a table downstairs or upstairs in the bar area. We opted for the upstairs bar and were seated at a high top table right away. The server greeted us immediately and took our drink orders and returned with our drinks quickly. By the time we were getting our drinks, the place was getting busy, but the service remained prompt throughout our entire visit. The Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts, Caesar Salad and Quattro Formaggi Pizza rounded out my menu choices. The brussels sprouts were tasty - maybe a tad bit overdone, but I liked the texture and flavor of the caramelization. The Caesar salad was the traditional preparation, with a hint of anchovy and plenty of parmesan and croutons. The pizza was clearly the star of the show, with a crisp crust, nicely balanced sauce and tangy blend of 4 cheeses. I will also admit to tasting my husband's Chorizo-Pepperizzo pizza, and that was amazing - I would definitely order that on a future visit. The owner stopped by our table near the end of the meal to check on our dining experience, and actually appeared to listen to our feedback, so that was a nice touch. Also, the pizza seems to be a 1 person serving size, but I took 1/2 of it home. It was still great leftover the next day. All in all, it was a cozy atmosphere, the service was friendly and professional, and the food was memorable.

    This place is a must go to!!! Only down side is that there is not much parking! But, the staff, food and atmosphere way make up for it! The owner was sitting at the bar with us and was very friendly and wanted as much feedback from us as possible. He also went over the history of how he started the business. He was very polite without being over bearing! We started out with the pork belly Mac & Cheese. It was some of the best pork belly that I've ever had. The best part is the smoke it right their! Then we had the Finocchiona Pizza which sausage, fontina cheese, arugula and balsamic drizzle! It is one of the best pizzas that I've ever had. The sauce has great taste without taking over. Then lastly for desert we had the Maple Bourbon Bread Pudding. This did not disappoint as it was the perfect ending to the meal!!!

    I was so excited to try this place but was pretty disappointed. The Inside of the restaurant is pretty dated and not very inviting. Service was pretty quick with their iPad ordering system, so much so our pizza came out and we didn't have our wine. Our sever was not very friendly and hostesses were wearing jeans and sneakers.... Not very professional. All of those things could be forgiven if the food was good, but sadly it was not. Duck pizza was odd in flavor and texture combinations (not a huge fan of Brie and Gruyere cheeses together which might be personal preference) and the meatball pizza was bland and not hot which didn't help. Crust on both pizzas was bland and strange in some flavor that I couldn't put my finger on. After my experience I heard another bad review from a friend. I won't be back. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is because my husband didn't seem as unhappy as I was. Too bad. I will just keep looking for a cool pizza place on the east side of Columbus.

    Updating. My husband and I tried pie one more time. I think they must have taken some of the reviews to heart, or I happened on a menu that just pleased my taste buds more:-) it has been a few weeks, so I can't remember exactly what I ate, but I STILL remember I enjoyed it A LOT. The service was a little slow, and I probably would have had a second (or third) drink if they were more attentive, but that is almost expected on a bust sat night. Is still love the atmosphere. I feel like I am eating in someone's living room. Quaint, cozy, warm. I look forward to visiting again! Glad I didn't give up so easily;-)

    This place is just OK... My BF and I came here on Saturday night to try something new. The menu looked decent enough online and the reviews seemed acceptable so why not!! (although looking today it appears Yelp is filtering MANY legitimate negative reviews). The good: Locally sourced. Love this! Pork Belly Mac and Cheese appetizer: This was delicious. The pork belly was crispy and flavorful and the mac and cheese was a wonderful pot of yummy. Nice beer selection The just "ok": The pizza! This is what we came here for and we had differing opinions on each of the pizzas we ordered but neither of us were blown away. We tried the Duck pizza and the Luciano Pavarotti pizza. The duck was well done but the pizza itself lacked a lot of flavor. I liked the Luciano Pavarotti but my BF thought it lacked sweetness. Overall, just ok. The service was ok too. Our waitress was nice enough but not overly attentive and I overheard her asking the hostess about having a particular beer in house. I think we would try this place again but it isn't somewhere we would be highly promoting to our friends at this point.

    Not your average pizza. Pies is in an old farmhouse, which gives it an unusual layout and some interesting challenges. For one, expect valet parking. Due to their small parking area it is nearly required. I'm sure you could insist on parking on your own, but it's free so take advantage of it! We sat on the patio, which is a nice hedge-lined brick area. It is right next to the street, but the hedges are thick enough that we barely noticed. The beer selection was impressive. All microbrews/craft beers with the exception of the Yuengling beer, which I think is now required by law to be on every restaurant/bar's menu. If there is a complaint to be had, it is about our server. She was quite nice and attentive, but wasn't well versed with the menu. She was pretty sure that a few of the beers on the menu had been replaced, but not which ones or what they had been replaced with other than that one of them was from Flying Dog. We also had a question on one of the cheeses used on the pizzas but she had no idea what it was. She was going to ask, but never got around to it. That said, the pizza was very good. I had the pepperizo pizza which has pepperoni and apple slices. VERY good. I also had a chance to try a pepperoni and sausage pie and a sausage and roasted red pepper. Both were very good but I found the sausage a bit too mild for my tastes. Overall, it is a great addition to the far east side's dining choice which up to now have been kept to chain after chain after chain. It isn't cheap, nor quick, but what it does do it does well.

    Enjoyed a late dinner at Pie's with my wife during the first half of Big Ten Championship game. We sat in the Pie in the Sky bar located upstairs and were easily able to find a seat with good view of the TV's. The beer selection is wide and full of good selections, a few of which I was not familiar. That made for some great new tasting. We tried the Mac & Cheese as an appetizer, which came adorned with thick and juicy bacon cuts that were delicious. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Pizza, which was good but a little heavy on the pepper. My wife had the mushroom pie with goat cheese which was delicious. The sweetness of the goat cheese made for a very unique and pleasing taste. Pie's is definitely worth a try. I want to go back during warmer months when the patio is open. It's an excellent outdoor seating with a 'secret garden' feel, complete with a fire pit.

    Tried this after reading good reviews and passing multiple times while driving around. BIG Mistake. should have known the dining room being virtually empty on a saturday night was a sign of what was to come. Slow service and horrible food. Wanted to try the rack of pork, nope sold out. Again, empty at 6pm. Okay, I'll try the fried chicken, an hour and a half later, I got what can only be described as a bad version shake and bake. It was really that bad. Gourmet in no way. Kroger's deli fried chicken is a hundred times better. Will never return.

    We went for happy hour last night and sat upstairs in the pub. It was delightful. The owner was sitting a few seats down and we chatted a bit. You can feel his love and passion for the place and the people working there. We had 2 appetizers, a pizza and a bottle of wine for $40. Talk about a deal! We will back again and again!

    First of all, this place has a great beer selection and nothing is more important than a restaurant with a great beer selection. The guy who waited on us even knew quite a bit about beer which is also a refreshing change of pace. They have very limited parking which is why they only have valet parking which is free. Free parking is good. I also found out that this is not just some pizza joint but a nice restaurant to eat at. They have more than just pizza. They have steaks, pastas and other dishes as well. There is a nice looking patio which had a fire pit going but it was still too rainy to sit outside so we did not take advantage of that. We sat upstairs in their bar as I was dressed for a pizza joint with my "Dude Abides" t-shirt and a ball cap. That does not really work at this place as it's a bit fancier than a t-shirt and hat type of place. I had their duck confit pizza with the poached egg on top of it. It was amazing. Their pizzas are smaller so that when you order one you are really ordering a personal sized pizza for yourself. I didn't share my pizza as it was too amazing for anyone else to bogart a slice. F those guys, they need to order their own duck confit pizza. So with the awesome beer, the awesome pizza, the good service, this is a great place to go back to. Glutten allergy people can also eat here as they have plenty on their menu that does not include wheat. None of their pizzas are gluten free though so be warned and do not go expecting to indulge in some pizza. You can have a steak or something. Cheers.

    This place is way overrated. The only thing it has going for it is the beer and wine list. Their pizzas are square 8" pizzas that are bland, and have no taste. My partner and I ordered the Quattro Formaggi, and it came out with no herbs, very little sauce and the dough wasn't cooked thoroughly. Our friends ordered the Traditional Margherita, and they didn't like it, either. Our server was nice, prompt and attentive. I had high hopes for this place because they only use local, but I won't be going back. Too overpriced, and bland food.

    The first time we went the pizza was great but it was really hot in the building and the service was really slow. The second time it was still slow and one of our pizzas was raw. It is a great concept and I would love to go there again but its just too expensive to wait forever just to get uncooked pizza.

    I wish I could have had a chance to comment on the food. We came in about 830 Fri night. We could tell things were a little chaotic but none the less we were seated. Fine got our drinks and heard the specials and then...nothing. our server completely ignored us. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't in a tiny dinning room with 3 other servers standing around. They all were there when we walked in as well as passing us repeatedly in the dining room. Did anyone think to say well be with you in a minute. The waiter walked by us at least 4 times and nothing...pure avoidance. We ended up walking out after about 30 minutes. When we did everyone standing talking at the door seemed so shocked and apologetic. Perhaps if they were more worried about the guests instead of gossip and cigarettes after the rush this would have been a 5 star but we will never know. Tighten up the service.

    We stopped in at Pies for dinner tonight, our pizzas (sausage/pepperoni and a mushroom) were excellent! Our order was goofed up, but they brought us a Margarita pizza on the house, which we shared with another group. And, they did Not charge us for the mushroom pizza. We have eaten there twice and it is very good pizza, plus the fried Brussel sprouts are to die for! Our server Lawrence did an excellent job!

    We had a very nice evening here. There is a good cocktail menu - excellent margarita, Pimm's cocktail a little too sweet. Looking forward to trying the peach sangria next time. Good selection of craft beers. The pancetta wrapped dates are a wonderful starter; great contrast of flavors. The burrata with flatbread was very good but needs more flatbread for dipping. All four pizzas that we got were quite good: I thought the finocchiona with fennel sausage was the best. Great homemade peach-rum ice cream for dessert, and our son had a nice strawberry shortcake dessert that he ate all but one bite of. Our server Olivia was very nice and attentive. Service is a little lumpy in the sense that appetizers took a fairly long time and then pizzas were done shortly after, but that sometimes happens when everything is made from scratch. We intend to go back, and we hope the restaurant is a great success. We look forward to sitting around the firepit in the fall.

    Came here on a whim and loved it. The pizza was fantastic. (mozza, pep, sausage, onion). The waitress asked us if we wanted desert and suggested the bread pudding. Ugh. So good. The pizza was so good we ordered a second to go for the next day. Definitely going to come back.

    I would say the food deserves 4.5 stars - but the overall experience brought it down. Sitting in the dining room I could see straight into the kitchen. I was able to see one of the chefs cutting the hostess' hair....in the kitchen. Also was not instructed that a tip had to be imputed up front and proceeded to have to go upstairs and order a drink from the bar and ask for cash back just to tip my waiter. On the way out a friend of one of the workers was sitting in the lobby with bare feet picking her toes. Unfortunately I won't be coming back even though I enjoyed the food.

    I am always looking for local establishments beyond the typical chain fare and was excited about this new restaurant in Reynoldsburg. The restaurant is on the corner of Graham Rd. and East Main St. and opened to the public this week. The restaurant is in the big white house on the corner - locals know the building. The food and service were both excellent. We had great gourmet pizza with fresh ingredients and a nice crust. Our server was perfect - attentive but not obtrusive. We sat on the shaded patio with a drink - a great way to end the week. The building and parking are a bit odd but provide a unique atmosphere. I'm giving four stars because the restaurant just opened and I've only been there once. We will definitely become regulars if the food and service continue to be as good as it was on our first visit. This establishment has promise!

    Would love to share great things about this new independent restaurant in under served Reynoldsburg but have officially been here 35 minutes and they ran out of pizza- on a Friday night at 8:30! No alternate suggestions were offered nor accommodations made. Our server, Brittney was very pleasant and we can't help but feel sorry for her having to deliver news like that in a place called Pies. There are open tables and it is terribly disappointing that they can't figure it out- off to eat somewhere else tonight! :(

    Had a really good Moscow mule and Jalisco pizza. Stopped in on my way to pickerington to pick something up. Pleasantly surprised. Best Moscow mule I've had in Columbus even better than curio. The pizza was good too. I'll come back and sit on the patio with firepit. Only thing is get that rattling vent fixed on the patio, I got used to it but detracts from my zen dinner.

    Pie's was amazing!! We had the Greek salad, Caesar salad, a yummy mojito, mushroom & goat cheese pizza & 4 cheese pizza. We sat on the cute little patio such a great experience!! Will definitely be back to try other pizzas!!
